“Thank you,” you say quickly again. You hurry to get out of the line.

You gasp quietly. You’re making a friend right now! You smile happily, shaking your wrists in anticipation. “Neato! Me too! I’m a little disappointed Gertrude Pool hasn’t introduced the Unlimited scene to LGA, but I can settle with classic too.” She looks back at you, concerned. “You’re okay with pets, right?” You nod. “Okay, good, because Cuddles is a very special kind of pet to me.”

It put them in the 1st Guards Mechanized Corps, 3rd Guards Mechanized Corps, and 9th Guards Mechanized Corps. The USSR, with it's T-34-85, JS-2, and other "best" tanks of the war, exclusively used the Sherman tanks in its elite armored formations in 1944-1945. These formations received the best of the best equipment-wise and logistically speaking, and that meant M-4s, both the 75mm and HV 76mm version.

Any tank which served for decades afterwards in multiple wars cannot be that bad. In comparison, the Panther was tried out by the French army after World War II, and deemed unacceptable due to unsolvable problems with its drive and tracks.

“What!?” yells another girl. “They’re letting boys come here!?” Everyone starts shouting and yelling in excitement, fright, and most of all panic.

“Now, now,” says the Captain very coolly. “Yes, there are boys coming. It’s a cooperation effort to help LGA branch out to schools on the land. They’re not here yet but we should all welcome them with the open arms of a school that houses mature and well-educated women!” Everyone continues to panic in their seats. Truth be told, you weren’t even aware of this happening. Hopefully it isn’t too much of an issue. The Captain sighs. “Alright, you’re all dismissed. First time Officers, please report to the Command Tower for further orientation.” She looks back at her XO. “Send in the Hall Monitors.”

The sun was already shining, signaling it was late mid-day. “Since you are first time Officers here aboard LGA, that means your first week here is a vacation. You are to spend it learning and adjusting to your new roles. Understood?” You all nod. “Good,” says the Captain. “Now, listen up. Tomorrow is the Club Fair. You are allowed to participate in extracurricular activities as well. Some of you might want to take Tankery I can guess. But remember that good extracurricular performance can boost your chances at getting promoted.”

Oooh, promotions. “You’re all starting as Rank Four Officers, simple Ensigns. There are four Ranks in total. When you reach Rank One like me, you get this neat white uniform!” She motions down her body, showing off her proud white uniform with black trim on the miniskirt and gold buttons as well. “It’s a lot more trouble to keep clean than you think. Any questions?” … “No? Okay, dismissed! Enjoy your stay aboard the ship.”

Eh, they were pretty prone to having engine failures compared to other german tanks, mostly because they were put into "mass" production too fast.
Wouldn't say they broke down quite that fast though.
Clearly they performed pretty well all things considered. They did need a good engineering corps for maintance though.
