“Your friend is fine,” says the 2-1B medical droid as he oversees Kuvasz on his bed. You stand over his bed with Vikker, crossing your arms. Kuvasz lies there, barely awake, but looking better than last night at least. A bacta patch crosses over his chest where the lightsaber hit him. If he hadn’t been wearing that armor, you’d probably be only looking at half of a Mandalorian right now. “There are extensive burns across his chest, but they should heal with some bed rest and regular application of bacta. Admiral Reike has informed the medical staff to keep you supplied. I must admit, I have not ever had a subject with this much external scarring so it was a very interesting experience.”

“Hey, I’m full of surprises,” mutters Kuvasz.

Vikker pats Kuvasz on the arm. “Feeling better at least, old man?”

“Where’s that nurse?” asks Kuvasz. The 2-1B tilts his head. “There was a nurse here with a very fine rear, I think Rhys and Vikker’d get a kick out of it.” You look at the 2-1B.

“Painkillers,” says the 2-1B. Ah. That explains it. “Should wear off within the hour.” Kuvasz groans, trying to sit up. The 2-1B gently pushes him back into bed. “In the meantime, he will be ready to join you soon.”

“Thanks, Doc.” You nod. You and Vikker turn around and start walking out of the medbay. “You know, Vik, we got lucky. Real lucky.”

“Wouldn’t have happened if you had left the girl back at the ship,” he says. You roll your eyes. If he didn’t want that, he should have said something. The door out of the medbay opens, and the two of you start heading down the hallway. Technicians and engineers were busy at work removing panels and checking electrical wires, apparently diagnostics after the battle that you had missed. Makes you wonder if Eudora is okay. “Listen, Rhys. I think we need to have a serious talk.”

You sigh, then stop Vikker. “Alright, talk.”

“That girl is going to get us killed,” says Vikker. “I mean, you-know-what is one thing. But come on, you can’t expect her to just hide it.” He holds up a finger, coming up with a idea. “I say we dump her somewhere isolated. Maybe like Lothal or Jakku or something. Then we go about, find that Fleet, we go back to treasure hunting. In fact, forget all this business with Admiral Reike and the Empire. We just go back to doing what we did.”

“Vik, you were the one that got me back working for the Empire again.”

He grunts. “And I have regretted that every day since. I need to stop looking at the easy credits. Look, I’m not forcing you to do this. Hell, I owe you my life, Rhys. You saved me.” He pats you on the chest. “Let me save you for once. I’ll let you think about it, alright?”

You nod, continuing to walk with him back to the ship. “Alright.”

Cutting Misri out? Admittedly, you’ve only known her for at most several months in this venture. Not to mention that she’s been shirking her responsibility lately. What would Kuvasz think though? Hell, what would the droids think? Not that they really have a say in the matter, but they all love her. You can’t have all of your droids deserting on you.

The two of you go down the lift into the hangar where all the big shuttles are kept. Reike’s personal Lambda, Sentinel Landers, and finally your own Lion’s Share. It’s places like this that make you feel at home, really. The black reflective floors, the illumination, the feeling of… you’re not sure what the feeling is but it’s there. Lev meets you at the boarding ramp. “Sir.”

“Lev.” You’re about to pass him up. Vikker does, leaving you behind. You need to check on Misri, see if she’s fixed up anything.

“Sir.” He catches your sleeve, stopping you. He holds up a holopad, which blinks with an incoming message. And not just any holopad. Eudora’s holopad. She’s calling you. “She is calling you.”

You take the holopad out of his hands. “Thanks.” You hurry up the ramp, then head down the hall into your quarters. You shut the door and lock it. Can’t have anybody disturbing you. You sit down at your desk, then take the call.

And out of it comes the image of Eudora. Out of her orange flightsuit now and wearing a simple grey woolie pullie with black pants. She brushes a bit of her red hair back, her arms folded as she looks at you. “Rhys.”

“Didn’t you say this was for me to call you?” you ask.

“It was,” she says. “But circumstances have changed a bit. We know you’re close to finding the Katana Fleet.” Well, she’s not wrong about that. But it’s less close and more you’ve found a way to find it now. Admiral Reike hasn’t called for you to report on it yet though.

Then again… “You’re taking an awful risk contacting me like this.”

“We’re using old Separatist channels,” she says. “Haven’t been used in years, Empire probably doesn’t even know they exist. If you’re wondering how we know you’re close, a little lizard and his walking carpet of a friend told us.” … Kublai and MadClaw. You need to throw those freeloaders off. Damn it. “Don’t blame them, we paid them to steal a carrier, instead they get us the intel of the year.”

[1/2]

“Right,” you say. “So. You want me to sell out the Empire then for it so the Rebels can claim all those ships for themselves? Then what, you go around terrorizing more worlds?” You scoff, leaning back in your seat. “I’m not an idiot, and you’re not a hero, Eudora.”

“You presume too much,” she says sternly. “Me and mine want to discuss details with you. But we request that you come alone. You can bring one of your astromechs, but that’s it. I want to talk to you in person about this. There’s too much to discuss over a secret comm channel and if I talk too long, I risk compromising the Fleet’s location.”

“… and if it’s a trap?” you ask.

She shakes her head. “It’s not a trap. I am trusting you to not bring the entire Empire on top of the Fleet, and in return, I’m going to make sure the boys and girls here who have friends that you shot down, don’t immediately blast you on sight. Will you come or not?”

The least he can do is hear them out. Still, the time of reckoning is coming. Rebels are rebels, but the Empire has been filled with nothing but cunts out to kill us and exploit us. Rhys may have been in flight school and have a soft spot for the military that brought him up, but he's not the loyalist Lotte is.
>>

I'm intrigued. Besides, this might be the chance for Rhys to see what the Rebels are like when they aren't trying to kill him.

>>
>>45380867

Let's face it, when we tried playing two sides with Zann, one of them got fed up of our shit and decided we needed to die. The Empire aren't going to react kindly to us pissing about talking to other people, especially after Reike got the inquisitors off of us.

Lotte, the guy at the academy who had us thrown out, and fucking shitty inquisitors and Co.

Everyone else has been pretty okay, the Officer on Manaan or whatever, the Stormtrooper bros, Reike has even been up front with us.
>>
>>45381073
That's because Zann was a prick trying to play both sides of the conflict and wanted the Katana Fleet to strongarm everyone. Rhys is already marked for death/capture by the Inquisition, and he's never really parleyed with the Rebels before.

>>45381097
Reike makes everyone's stomach churn. He's only playing it straight because Rhys is his best chance at the ultimate promotion if he can secure the Katana Fleet.
>>
>>45380867
>> “Fine. Transmit me the coordinates.”
>>
>>45380867
> “Fine. Transmit me the coordinates.”

I think we're nearing the end of our rope with the imperials. We owe that admiral.. Reiker something or other but I'm worried that as soon as we hand over the fleet they're coming after us.
>>
Alternatively, we could get the co-ordinates to the Rebels, and send Misri off to them so she can embrace her Jediness, and we can fuck off and find the fleet.

>>45381133
Even the inquisitors don't much care for us, they only care about Misri, because she's the one using the force. Once we get rid of her and give them the Katana fleet, we'll just be rich insignificant scum.
>>
>>45381200
Rhys barely trusts the Rebellion to do anything other than die when he shoots at them, why would he ever think they wouldn't take advantage of Misri?

Yes, and?

He an honestly bad man, but he's honest, and he won't just fuck us over just because, and he won't throw hissy fits because we did something he didn't like.

He sees us as a useful asset and he treats us like one, maybe he will try to dispose of us, but that;s a maybe, and he's more likely to want to keep one of the best pilots in the galaxy around after this job because we're really fucking good.

Reike isn't some mustache twirling villain, he's a cunning and intelligent (albeit evil) man. He's not going to "You found teh fleet, NOW DIE MUAHAHAHAAH" us.
>>
>>45381224
Because it's a kinder fate than just dumping her on Jakku as Vikker suggested, and let's face it she's going to get caught by inquisitors pretty quickly if she's not with the Rebels.
>>
>>45381262
I'd argue that leaving her with the Rebellion would get her killed even quicker. And there's a solid chance that if she's just abandoned to the Rebellion that she and Rhys would end up fighting each other.

“Alright, I’ll humor you, Eudora. But if this is a trap, I will bring Admiral Reike and his fleet down on top of you. Transmit me the coordinates.”

“Relax. Unlike the Empire, we’re willing to negotiate with everybody. I’ll see you soon.” Her hologram disappears, and in place of it comes hyperspace coordinates. You download it and take up the holopad.

Hm.

Grab your helmet and your life support pack and pull them on. “Sir.” Lev calls you over his commlink. “Admiral Reike is requesting a report on the tracker. What should I tell him?”

“Is it done?” you ask as you head into the cargo bay.

“Almost, the navcomputer we have designed for it is currently calculating all destinations along the route of travel that the logs we recovered have, it will take time,” he says.

“Then tell him that,” you say as you drop down to your R-22. “And tell him that I will be indisposed in the meantime. I’m going out for a short ride.” You open up the cockpit and slip yourself on in. Now you need an astromech droid too.

But who to slot in?

R5-Z3 gets himself comfortable inside of the astromech slot. “Sir, I’m honored that you would have me as a regular inside of this slot.”

“Well, if this were an X-Wing, R5, you’d be a great bodyblocker on account of that thick head of yours,” you say.

“And your cockpit makes an excellent shield in case a Starfighter strafes our flank, sir.” You smirk as your Starfighter is craned to the back of the cargo bay, to the hangar. “I am calculating the coordinates now, and also implement the sensor jammer so that the Empire cannot follow us unless you mean them to.”

“Good, good.” You double check systems as you’re dropped out of your hangar, and out of the hangar of the Redeemer and into space. You take a good look at the fleet orbiting Alpheridies. Dozens of cruisers, mixed in with several Imperial Star Destroyers. And who knows how many TIE Fighters as well. You pull your mask and take a deep breath. Now or never you guess. “Alright, R5, take me in.”

With a loud bang, you get to traveling.

-

-

The jump was only a short distance away. What made it difficult was that it wasn’t on any known hyperspace lanes or charted space. A lot of farmboys like to think themselves geniuses when they say they’d just go “around” blockades or “go as the convor flies”. In reality, hyperspace travel through even charted space was difficult. You had to make sure you didn’t fly into a star or into a planet’s surface, you had to get the right trajectory so you actually came near the place in the first place. And then there’s Purrgil who occasionally wander into hyperspace lanes.

Makes your skin crawl just thinking about it really, people who oversimplify things.

You come out of hyperspace is a very distant part of space. No nearby stars, no celestial bodies to take account of. Just stars, blackness, and the rings of the galaxy above you. “R5, you see anything?”

“Straight ahead, sir,” he says. “I am detecting several large signatures, capital ship size.”

Your sublights take you directly ahead, and out of the blackness comes the increasingly growing specks of a fleet. Yep, this is the place. It was a huge cobbled together mess this fleet. Some Mon Calamari transports, old Separatist Munificents and even a Providence and a Recusant, Corellian corvettes and gunships of all types, and even a stolen Neb-B here and there. But in the center of it all was the massive familiar shape of an old Lucrehulk battleship. You recognize that battleship, it’s all across Imperial Navy registers as being part of the legendary Separatist holdout fleet.

The Separatist 5th Sector Fleet.

> 5th Sector Fleet <
> The Separatist holdout fleet, now aligned with the Rebel Alliance <

Certainly larger than Reike’s, but definitely not up to the tech. “Sir, incoming fighters.” You unlock weapons quickly. And flying past you now are two X-Wings. They immediately curve around and fly on either side of your flank. “Their weapons are unpowered and their comms are declaring a truce signal, they appear to only want to escort you in.”

[2/3]
>>
>>45382211
[3/3]

“Fine,” you say. You look at the pilot on your right, and he looks back at you. He gives you a very obscene gesture with his fingers at you, and you return the favor back.

They escort you into the hangar of the old Lucrehulk. Tractor beam projectors are quick to lock you in, and bring you to a landing. Old Vulture droids are patrolling around, backed up by rusting B1s and B2s along with regular organic soldiers of all species. You pop the cockpit, then step out. R5 hops out as well.

And coming to meet you now is Eudora. “See?” she says with a slight smile. “Not a trap.”

“No, I see your logic, you’re planning on ambushing me when I’m out of my fighter because you know I’ll win if you put me in a fighter,” you explain. You smirk back at her. “Good try though, I will admit.”

She rolls her eyes. “I see you haven’t changed much since Flight School. But, regardless, welcome aboard the Usury.”

“Before we talk though, Eudora. How about you and me catch up?” you ask. “I mean, I don’t suppose you have time for a bit of fooling around with an old friend, now don’t you?”

She tilts her head, giving you a very coy look. “Oh, -suddenly- you want something to do with the Rebel Alliance now that I’m involved.” You shrug. “Fine, we can head up to my quarters, have a quick drink before we talk with Admiral Attun Palalin.” She motions you to follow her. R5 starts following you too, but you turn around and stop him.

“Stay with the ship, R5,” you say. “Just in case.” He tips himself forward in a nod, then rolls back to the ship.

“Smart,” she says. “Any usable scrap or ship we can find usually gets stolen.” Well, at least she admits it. You take a quick glance at her swaying rear before turn your eye back to her face. “However, not everything is as it seems. I’ll explain everything later.” You nod, shoving your hands in your pockets. You take one look left to see a row of X-Wings sitting and being attended to by pilots in orange flightsuits. They all look over at you, and glare at you when you pass by.

“… who are they?” you ask.

She looks over at them, then back at you. “That’s my crew. Menace Squadron.” She leans over to you. “Two of ours were shot down over Tython so we’ll try and keep some distance, alright?” You nod. Fair enough. You look back at them, and they all continue to glare at you. A human male with messy blonde hair, a Neimoidian female, a human girl who couldn’t be more than fifteen, a Polis Massan (that isn’t actually glaring at you), a Rutian Twi’lek guy, and a very strong looking Ithorian, all of them come together to fight the Empire.

You hold Eudora’s old TIE Pilot helmet as you stand in her room. She pours a glass of Corellian rum for you and herself, then sits down at your desk. “So, kept your helmet?” you ask.

“Yep.” She kicks back in her seat as you look around you’re her room. For the Commander of a Squadron, this was rather… grim. Grime and rust was getting at the corners and the cracks between ceiling and wall. The bed appeared to be more frame than bed. And her chest of drawers at the foot of that bed was filled with dirty clothes and a pile of an orange jumpsuit. Not to mention the desk where lots of files and holobooks were placed. All in all, it was more like a janitor’s closet than an Officer’s Room. “We have to spare room for what supplies we can get, means I don’t get my own office.” She shrugs, smirking. “I like it in here anyway, it’s cozy.”

“Sure it-“ You kick your foot against her bed, then gently place her helmet next to the pillow on her bed where you found it. You sit down on the chair in front of her desk. “Sure it is.” You take your glass and take a sip. “So this is where you’ve been the past six or seven years since I was expelled?”

“I only defected a year ago,” she says. “Racked up a good killcount of pirates and rebels before then, then I defected.” You nod, taking another sip. She holds out the bottle for you, and immediately you take it from her. “I don’t expect you to understand why I defected, I know you’re a stubborn guy, too full of yourself to think about why others might do things contrary to what you might think is smart.”

“I’m not that full of myself,” you say. “I just wonder what the Rebels have to offer compared to the Empire. Restoring an old corrupt Republic? Bringing back freedom? What kind of nonsense is that?”

[2/3]
>>
“You just proved my point,” she says quickly. She brushes back her red hair again, then sighs deeply. “Look, things are worse here. The X-Wings are the most advanced thing here. We’re having to back it up with Clone Wars surplus that we shove old leaky hyperdrives into and then attach drop tanks to. The Vultures are too degraded and are only useful in dogfights for ramming things. The pilots we get are farmboys who took too many trips around the Swoop ring, the Admiral bless his heart he’s nice but he thinks we’re still fighting the Clone Wars, and going without food for a day or two is a regular occurrence.”

“Then why stay?” you ask. “Even if you think the Empire is wrong, no pilot can suffer this. Why?”

“Unlike the Empire, I’m a person to them,” she says back. She shrugs, taking a deep chug of her entire glass. “Still, wouldn’t expect you to understand that. Again, full of yourself.”

You sigh. “So, what, you think this stuff is enough to fight the Empire then?”

“It’s a start.” She holds out her glass, and you pour more rum into it for her. “Thanks.”

“So. Is this the part where you want to offer me a spot in your little Fleet?” You knew this was coming. She’ll offer you a job, she’ll bring you into their fold, she’ll offer all kinds of-“

“No.” … what. “This is the part where I ask you, as a friend, to help us with this one thing.” She leans on her desk, looking at you very sternly. “We can’t offer you much in terms of credits. We sure as hell can’t let you leave with any of our droids or ships. We just want one thing and one thing only.”

“What is this one thing?” you ask as you place your glass on her desk. “And let me warn you, Lotte pulled the friend thing with me. I don’t suppose you did the same thing with Pil, right?”

She narrows her eyes, giving you a slight glare. “Harsh.” She sighs, taking another drink of rum quickly. “Let me explain. The Katana Fleet is one of the largest collection of free ships out there. If the Empire were to get their hands on it, the subjugation of the Outer Rim would be complete. They could post ships at every hyperspace lane, at every corner and nook we could conceivably hide in. We’d run ourselves into the ground trying to run away, not to mention that if they modernize all of those ships, they could be ready to liberate dozens of worlds that rebel. You know last year, the Empire ‘liberated’ five rebel controlled planets with the Base Delta Zero initiative.”

You shake your head. “Yeah, I don’t really care. What separates you from them?”

“I’m going to be completely honest with you. We don’t have the manpower to crew these ships. We don’t have the money to fix them, and they will need fixing. And we don’t have the logistic chains to maintain all of those ships at once.” Then why hunt for the Katana Fleet? Wait. She can’t be serious. “We found ourselves an old astromech that can decode the Fleet’s security systems. You’re well aware that they’re all running slave circuitry coded to the flagship, right?”

You nod. “Right.”

“We’ve coded a self-destruct program.” A very heavy air comes in between you and her now. “We are going to blow up the Katana Fleet.”

“You’re nuts,” you say.

[1/3]
>>
>>45383550
[2/3]

“We can’t use those ships, even if we wanted to,” she says. “We don’t have the droids, we don’t have the men. You know the specs for the Katana-class Dreadnaughts demand 2,200 crew members right? That’s at least 440,000 crewmembers at least,” she says. “We don’t have that kind of manpower. We’re -losing- manpower every day. Chandrillan militia can’t support us anymore since the Empire started putting checkpoints on the major hyperspace lanes. The Ryloth Resistance can’t send us anymore weapons or men either.” She leans over to you, nearly getting in your face. “And this Fleet is the –last- Separatist holdout in the galaxy. I’ve confirmed it with folks on the inside. There are no more like this Fleet. No more Gizor Dellsos or Corporate Alliance mooks to help us. The cells are too scattered, we’re too few. That Fleet, if the Empire gets its hands on us, will destroy us.”

“Yeah. Nice little rant there,” you say. “But… what do you want me to do?”

“I ask that you level the playing field for us, and give us a way to find the Katana Fleet,” she says. “Kublai told us you were working on a tracker of some kind. We want one too, or at least the coordinates to one of the potential destinations. You do this, we can pay you, we’re square and we won’t bother you again.”

[2/3]
>>
>>45383570
[2/3]

“So what do you want to pay me then?” You cross your arms, squinting at her.

She sighs, resting her hand in her hands. “Five thousand, ten thousand when the job is done.”

“… that’s it?” you ask. “Fifteen K?”

“It’s all we can spare,” she says. “We need everything here. Even as old as the droids are, they still have an important role for us, and they’re absolutely irreplaceable now that the Empire is cracking down on the old foundries and the sale of Sep droids.”

“This is a joke.” You shake your head, laughing a bit. “The Empire is paying me a hell of a lot more than that, plus giving me a bonus when I complete it. You have to offer more.”

“We can’t,” she says. “I’m begging you, just please help us.” She knows this is way too little. She has to be holding out on you, surely.

>>
If we give her coordinates, they'll turn out to be the right ones, and we'll be left with no Katana Fleet to show for it. That means no pay and no TIE prototype at best.
At worst Reike will figure out we sold the Fleet's location to the Rebels because they're not trying to kill us anymore.
>>
I honestly don't believe her.

They had B-Wings, all the fights we had with the Rebels had advance aircraft, not one Clone Wars surplus.

>>

>I want you, out of this conflict, if you need somewhere to go then you can stay on my ship, ,that is my price the tracker, for you out of the game.
>>
>>45383989
It's actually a terrible starting place for negotiations because it's so low. It's like a single trip to Alderaan.

It's almost insulting considering they offered Kublai 50,000 for a single ship, and the bounty on us is also higher.

I'd almost say they've calculated this, shown us the shittiest bit of their fleet, without any new shiny a-wings or b-wings, to make us 'feel' for them.
>>
>>45384072
For the tracker it is a start, besides saying this will test her resolve.

Even then, that's what 65,000 credits? Far less then what we've been promised by the Empire. It also means the Empire don't want to murder us, and the Rebels will be too btfo to seek revenge against us. Plus once the Rebels are dealt with the Empire can go and crush Zann.

I mean Rhys is petty and greedy. There isn't really a real benefit to helping the Rebels.

I wouldn't say petty, greedy sure but he can be talked to. It's just that the same sob story is what Lotte did to us and we are a bit more guarded about that.

Not to mention there's being greedy and being duped. We seen what the rebels have and are capable of. 15k is a bullshit amount.
>>
>>45384259
What real friends? Vicker, R5, Misri and Kuvasz are his only real friends. And the Empire isn't just going to kill every non-human for shits and giggles, the only one in any real danger is Misri, and she wouldn't be if she had listened to us.

Lotte fucked him over, he wouldn't even be talking to Eudora if she hadn't survived us shooting her down, and the Furies aren't going to be effected by this either way since they lost their chance to build a new Mandalorian empire, and are now a non-entity.
>>

> “Come on, surely you can offer more.”

“You paid Kublai and his furball friend 50k. You’ve had a bounty on me for that kind of money too for much longer than that. You’re playing me, Eudora.”

She shrugs. “The simple answer to that is that we don’t have the money anymore. And the bounty on your head we got rid of on my suggestion. We used that money to buy supplies to get us through to the next cycle. As for the 50k on Kublai, we paid his due when he informed us of what was going on in your ship.”

“He didn’t tell you everything, did he?” you ask.

“Only the Katana Fleet stuff,” she says. “But I know for a fact that the blind mechanic in your cargo bay certainly isn’t blind.” You roll your eyes. “The 15k is all we can spare.”

“Don’t give me that.” You place your hand on her desk, leaning closer to her. “I know for a fact, that you have more money than that. Hell, look at the size of this fleet, you think that comes cheap?”

“Everybody here is a volunteer, we’re not paid,” she says. “That Corellian rum you’re drinking isn’t even mine, I stole that from Jacko’s drawer.” Oh. Well, she’s got the right idea at least, or at least Jacko does.

“Okay, here’s an idea then,” you say. “You abandon this game then.” She tilts her head, confused. “You leave the Rebels, I give you the Fleet a copy of the tracker. If you need some place to go, I’d be happy to-“

She slams her glass on the desk, shutting you up. “I. Am not. Abandoning this Fleet.”

If you can’t match that, I’m sorry, but that’s how the galaxy works. I’m not in this for your little crusade.” She stares silently up at you. “If you’re smart, Eudora, you’ll give this stuff up.”

She slowly stands up, looking you directly in the eye. “Fourty.”

You blink. “What?”

So far the only argument against that I've heard is MUH DICK or MUH REBELS, both of which are fucking stupid.
>>
>>45385083
EXACTLY. Rhys gets paid twice, and neither side (and Zann) gets the war-deciding ghost fleet. The fleet is too much power for one faction to have. The Rebels have the right idea: better no one gets it than the Empire gets it.
>>
>>45385076
What can the Rebels offer us?
Reike is offering us enough money to retre and to fly TIE prototypes.

Why would Rhys accept anything less than that for somethin that will get te Empire after him?
>>
>>45385083
The moment we move against Reike is the moment that he no longer has to put up with us and the Empire is more or less turned against us again. He's the reason we were able to stop being on the run. Trying to be sly for 10% more cash just means that we're running on borrowed time before someone works it out.

Why can't we just play straight with the Empire, get our assets liquidated, and be rich?
>>
>>45385104
Not once in this conversation has Eudora offered ass, so "MUH DICK" isn't involved.
>>
>>45385122
>>45385083
Holy fuck you're right, I can't believe I didn't think of that. if we can get two paydays then what the hell are we doing arguing about?
>>
>>45385145
Because it's never that easy with either side.

Well Rhys doesn't know that so he should play it safe.
>>
>>45385145
Because the moment we find the Katana Fleet for Reike, he'll turn the Inquisition on us, who have been chomping at the bit to get their hands on Rhys and Misri. We have no friends in the Empire (apart from the cute cadet in flight school).

>>
>>45385227
Vikker himself said he wants out of the Empire contract. At least we can lay a cushion with the Rebels if this does go through.
>>
>>45385171
Because it requires Reike to be far more stupid than he's acted so far.
It requires him to ignore the fact that in spite of Rhys, and therefore the Empire, being the only ones to physically take the Nav logs of the found dreadnaughts, the Rebels were able to get to the Fleet first and destroy it.
>>
>>45385227
>the moment we find the Katana Fleet for Reike, he'll turn the Inquisition on us
That isn't certain. If we can find the damn fleet I'm sure he could find another use for us down the line that isn't on a chopping block.
>>

>>45385083
This guy has it right, get paid by both sides. Plus lets be honest Rhys thrives on the chaos in the galaxy; without a war, there is a lot less of a need for a moral grey archaeologist and general scoundrel.
That said we have to be very, VERY careful about how we play this.
>>
>>45385274
No one said anything about the Rebels getting there first. Again, all the Rebels want is a copy of the tracker; they'll deal with everything else.
>>
>>45385274
We just need to plant evidence then. Not much, just enough so that an alternate theory can be trotted out

Man it was a mistake to accept that letter of marque from Lotte. The minute we did that our life went to shit. Never go political.
>>
>>45385272
Vikker wants out but leaving the contract and destroying the thing the Wmpire has been hunting for are two different things. The former, we could go back to a life of small jobs. The latter would have the Empire hunting us down; the whole Empire and not just Lotte's little group.
>>
>>45385305
>That said we have to be very, VERY careful about how we play this.
That fills me with confidence.
>>
>>45385334
Everything Rhys has done was on a leap and a prayer. The only reason he gets away with the shit he does is that he's unnaturally good at what he does.
>>
>>45385315
You think that they won't get there first? They have enough ships in this fleet that they could send a ship to every coordinate hit that the tracker produces at once while we can only go through the list one at a time.
They're going to get there first because they have enough people who have their lives on the line that they'll be more motivated to win the race.
>>
>>45385328
>The former, we could go back to a life of small jobs.
With Rhys's knowledge at this stage? Hell no. Rhys can't just walk away. Either he's Imperial for life, or they chase him down.

“Fine. But throw something else in, bounties, maps, information, something to kick the deal.”

She sighs. “I can offer you a favor. One favor from me, and the Fleet. That is all we can do. You can take it or leave it.”

You shrug. “I’ll take a favor I guess.” You sigh, crossing your arms. “But your money better be good.”

“It has to be. We buy our food with it,” she says back. “Come on, I’ll escort you back to your ship.”

-

-

A Neimoidian and several of his droid aides turn to you as you march back to your ship. “Commander Kyriako,” he calls. “I was wondering where you were. I see you have sealed the agreement with Mister Cykgil?” he says.

She nods. She motions her hand to you, then to him. “Rhys. Admiral Attun Palalin, commander of the Fleet.”

He nods to you. “Cykgil.”

> Admiral Attun Palalin <
> Separatist Holdout Fleet Commander <

He smiles, folding his hands behind his back triumphantly. “Well, I presume the negotiations went well then.” Eudora takes his hand, bringing him aside. “What- what is it?” They talk quietly with each other on the side, but then: “You what!?” Eudora tells him to quiet down, hissing at him through whispers. “That is money we need for food, Eudora!”

“We can stand to starve a couple of weeks! We need the Katana Fleet now!” she shouts. “I’ve already transferred the money to him, deal with it!”

“You-“ He wags his finger in Eudora’s face. “Imperial… you better know what you are doing!”

“What’s going on here?” asks the blonde guy from Menace Squadron. Eudora quickly explains to him the situation. “Oh. Well. Hell, I mean… if it gets us the Fleet, why not?” The three start bickering and arguing amongst themselves.

You sigh, shaking your head as you return to your ship. “Anybody try to steal anything R5?” as you access the comm network.

“No, sir, they have been polite as can be,” he states. “Though, the Vultures were very rude and called me very mean names.” One of the Vultures screams at R5 as he walks by. “Screw you too.” Ugh, you are getting a headache from this. “Sir, Lev has said that the calculations are complete, and the Katana Fleet’s destination has been calculated. Do you wish to send them here to the Fleet now?”

Take the money from the empire and run someplace they won't find us. Which is honestly the first thing we should have done once the inquisitors got involved. Seriously, they are scary, scarier then ISB and we do not want to be in imperial territory anymore

Realistically we can't keep playing nice with the empire forever as long as there are force sensitives in our crew. The minute this shit came up we had two options- a. sell Misri out to the inquisitors or b. fuck off to the outer rim or the core and never look back

All we've done so far is just get more and more attention pointed at us since then. The longer we wait the worse chances we have of getting away when it is discovered. And it WILL be discovered.

“Transmit the coordinates to me,” you say. “I’ll give it to them myself?”

“Sir, is this wise?” asks R5.

“Am I being lectured by a droid?” you say back.

“Fair point, downloading.” Onto your holopad comes the coordinates, along with the set data necessary to build a tracker should the need arrive. Hopefully it doesn’t. You turn around and start walking to the group, which has expanded to the entirety of Menace Squadron, including some other pilots and soldiers as well.

“Here are your coordinates,” you say. “Try not to blow it all in one place.”

Eudora swipes it from you, then looks it over. She takes another glance at you, then continues staring at the holopad. An uncomfortable air has set over the hangar as everybody glares at you. Yeah, you’re taking their food money, that’s… you’d probably be mad too. But hey, if they didn’t want to starve, they shouldn’t have become rebels. Eudora has finished downloading it onto her holopad, then hands yours back to you. “Seems like it’s all in one piece. Admiral.” She looks over at Admiral Palalin. “I suggest we get a move on. And I suggest that Rhys leaves.”

“Of course. Thank you, Cykgil,” says Palalin. “You’ve been a help to us.”

“Yeah,” says the blondie. “A real help.”

Before you can go, Eudora grabs your sleeve, stopping you. Everyone else disperses back to their stations. “Listen, Rhys. Before you go. I’m going to say this. You keep this up, you keep fooling around with the Empire, I guarantee there won’t be a good end for you.”

“Trust me,” you say. “I’m better than that.”

“Yeah, no you aren’t,” she says. “Get out of here.” You nod, then hurry on back to your ship.

You sigh as the cockpit window seals shut and you pull your helmet and mask on. R5 turns his head to you. “Back to Admiral Reike, sir?” You nod. The tractor beams disengage, allowing you to leave the hangar of the Usury, and hyperspace away back to Alpheridies and the Imperial Fleet.

You shrug. “You could say that.”

“We were just about to interrogate Lev for the tracker data on the Katana Fleet,” says Reike. “However, since you’re here now, we can get started.”

“Well, we should probably leave now, sir,” you say. He looks at you, confused. “As a matter of urgency.”

> “The rebels might have a solid lead on the location of the Fleet.”

“The rebels might have a solid lead on the location of the Fleet.” He squints, obviously a bit angered at the thought of it. “They’ve been following our trail. A friend of mine in the information broker business as well has been feeling around for information for me, and he found out that they might be on their way now to the first possible location.”

He rubs his chin, nodding slowly. “I see. Alright.” He turns around. “Captain Ulgo. Report back to the Balmoral, you will be our vanguard.” She nods, hurrying to her shuttle, but not before giving you one last confused look. Admiral Reike turns back to you. “As for you, you will stay on my ship all the way to the location of the Fleet. However…” He stiffens up a bit, giving you a bit of a tense look. “You’re lying to me, aren’t you?”

You blink. “Sir?”

“You sold the information to the rebels and now you’ve come back to try and lie to me about this, didn’t you?”

You stay quiet. There’s actually not much you can say at this point. “I’m not mad, son. I’m more disappointed that your greed has exposed a failure in you. But, I will allow you to redeem yourself just this once in my eyes. Like I said, you’re an irreplaceable asset, and I consider myself patient enough to see good in the people I manage.”

“How so?” you ask.

“I assume the plan is to destroy the Fleet, the Rebels have no way to destroy them so quickly and efficiently through ship-based armament. What is their plan?” he asks.

You just don't get to be an inquistior, like it's a stamp of empire approval or something.

First off, most inquiistors are taken very young generally as children from their parents. They are then put through EXTREMLY gruelling and sometimes deadly training by Darth Vader himself. They are all fanatically loyalty to him and the Emperor, to the point of comitting suicide rather then risking fucking up their jobs

IF Misri goes off to be an inquistor well- she's dead, one way or another

Frankly this is why I supported giving the information to the rebels. We need to be friendly with them because sooner or later the inquistors will stop fucking around and track us down. Call me goddamn paranoid but it's going to happen.

“They want to upload a self-destruct command to all of the ships,” you say.

“And in order to do that, they’d need to board the flagship Katana,” he says to himself. He nods slowly, scratching his chin. “I can see their logic now. They’d need a direct connection, necessitating boarding the ship. And I’m sure my TIE Fighter Corps and my Stormtroopers can stop that.” He holds up his wrist comm-link. “Captain. Bring the ship about, we’re leaving.”

“So.” You bite your lip. “We’re just going to ignore the whole-“

“How much did they pay you?” he asks.

“Um. Forty-thousand,” you say.

“Hm.” He shrugs. “I’d probably would have done the same in your position. Where are the coordinates?” R5 wheels himself over. He projects a galactic map from his dome, marking out a spot in a red cube. “Mhm. Captain, stand by.” He looks down at R5. “Send those coordinates to the helm, droid.” He nods, transferring it through the necessary Imperial channels. “As for you, Rhys. I have a suggestion for you.”

“Sir?”

“I let my subordinates make mistakes under my command, so long as they learn from them,” he says. “This is your –only- mistake. Try not to let this happen again. You’re lucky that any Imperial fleet can outclass whatever the Rebel alliance can bring to bear. We have enough Star Destroyers here to subjugate five star systems.”

“Right, sir,” you nod to him.

“And one more thing, I suggest that you sit this out,” he says. “Regardless, I will admit, it is not the biggest loss to us if we cannot retrieve the Katana Fleet. We can always build more ships, there is no shortage of volunteers either to draft and recruit to man those ships either. However, I get the feeling that perhaps you might not have your head wrapped around the scale of this discovery.”

“Good, by the way, we transferred your advance payment of one hundred thousand credits to you. It’s yours to spend.” He pats you on the back. “Not all at once though.” Fair. “Get back in your ship.” You nod, then head up the boarding ramp with R5.

As your ship leaves the Battlecruiser Redeemer, you check in on the cargo bay again to find Misri napping on the top of the folded up AT-PT. “Misri!” you call. She yelps, nearly stumbling off the walker before she looks over at you. “Have you finally finished that walker?”

She nods. “Yeah, I have.” She jumps down. “You know, Rhys. It’s kind of interesting as to why you’d need an AT-PT considering-“ You cross your arms, quirking your brow. “… nevermind. Well, not entirely, I haven’t put the Kyber crystal in. For some reason, whenever I try to put it in by hand, it just- it just doesn’t work.”

“Thank goodness,” you say. She frowns a bit, spurned by your disapproval. “Look, we’ve got our money, we can leave.”

Lets call Lotte next for shits and giggles, why the hell did we help the rebels who thought that was a smart move we did the same this Lotte did to us to Eudora.
>>
>>45387794
He does care to a certain extent. Saving the Star Destroyer that was under rebel assault, rushing into the air to stop extremist rebels from bombing a populated area.
>>
>>45387793
>"I don't know Misri. I don't know. Reike figured out that I gave the coordinates to the rebels too. I gave up their plans to sabotage the fleet. It's... it's honestly the only option I had. It's going to be a really hard fight for Eudora and the rest of her fleet. I'm not sure if she's going to make it out alive."
>>
>>45387793
> “Get back to work.”
>>
>>45387861
Rhys's problem is that he threw in with the Empire and, in fact, is scared of the Empire. Everyone jumped back on Reike's good side because they didn't want to piss off the Empire.

>>45387876
>Saving the Star Destroyer that was under rebel assault
It was his old flight school.
>rushing into the air to stop extremist rebels from bombing a populated area.
Populated IMPERIAL area that he was on.
>>
>>45387850
The Neb b was attacking a mass of flight recruits that stirred up old feelings and a burst of hatred. It wasn't just, "Oh by the way let's murder a lot of people."

The Tatooine thing was dangerous as hell and wasn't really his fight.

The extorted pilot droids was from someone who threatened to kill him.

Mandalorian girls heart isn't her life and the lives of those she cares about.

Rhys is basically Lottie at this point.

This
>>
>>45387936
Furthermore, I believe a significant chunk of Rhys's rogueish charm died when Lotte backstabbed him to steal his haul. He honestly became an angrier, more selfish person because of that, to the point where he literally sees red and lashes out violently when Lotte confronts him.
>>
>tfw Rebelfags who don't think get BTFO and bitch like a Tumblrite who just got told they were a normal human being

>tfw Emiprefags are going to get BTFO now because Reike is going to want to get rid of us because we just proved we'd double-cross him with literally no thought

>tfw neutralfags are about to get BTFO because Daughteru bitching incoming

Yes, we really can offend everyone at once.
>>
>>45387916
>I'm making excuses please don't hate me

This is awesome. I wanted Rhys to drink himself to death and it's happening! Now Schteel just needs to kill Janis.
>>
Can we just fuck off somewhere in space for a while? And just do jobs that won't involve people that we care about one way or the other?
>>
>>45388008
Hey, the moment he kills Jannis is the moment I walk next door and slap Schteel in the dickhole.

Literally a best.
>>
>>45388009
Hooray for getting another member of our flight school killed.
>>
>>45388009
No. You don't get to go play in the sandbox. It's a quest. The pages keep turning. Now let's see if we can ruin the rest of his relationships for some credits.
>>
>Hate Lottie for fucking you over for the Empire and taking everything you've got
>Fuck over Eudora, taking everythings he's got, feed her to the Empire

You fucks are literally Lottie.
>>
ITT: Every bitches, whines, moans, strawmans, shitposts and otherwise acts like asshats because the quest did not their way 100%
>>
>>45388071
Lottie had a cause. Rhys has nothing. Lottie comes out on top.
>>
> “Let’s just say that she and the Empire are going to have a squabble soon.”

“What?” Misri tilts her head, surprised. “What do you mean?”

“I sold out Eudora and the Rebel fleet to the Empire. They’re going to get intercepted over the Katana Fleet, and considering a Fleet of this size,” you say. “Eudora is probably not in for an easy fight.”

“Wh- why?” She steps closer to you. “What reason would you have for that? I thought you and Eudora were friends!”

“We were,” you say. “We’re not, not anymore. We were classmates once, she’s now a Rebel like the rest of them. And even if I did want to help her, and I did part of me did at least, Reike is a hell of a lot scarier than some farmers and peasants in old Clone Wars relics. You have to understand that much,” you say.

Misri’s mouth opens ever slightly in awe and repulsion. “You…” She swallows deeply, then sighs. “Alright.” You cock your head. Alright? “Just, alright.” She shakes her head, sighing. She then walks over to the R-22 and starts inspecting it for repairs.

“Misri, I’m being honest with you,” you say. She has to understand that being a rebel in a galaxy like this gets you killed. You can’t oppose the Empire for long and expect to get away with it. If anything, you’re teaching Eudora and the rest of her band of miscreants a lesson. You hope Misri gets that into her mind sooner rather than later.

“Yeah.” She nods, she sits down on the R-22, fidgeting with the tools on her toolbelt. “Sometimes I wish you weren’t.”
>>
>>45388071
I honestly think people are under-estimating the rebels. all they need to do is find the flagship, plant the virus and gtfo. They already KNOW the empire is coming, so it's not like we're springing this on them as a surprise.
>>
>>45388091
Nice! Not only is Rhys a prick but given a enough time Misri will be one too!

Now she can eventually realize he's cancerous and bail on him.

Trying to bullshit when there was a robot recording us give the coordinates to the Rebels, fuck the droid even told us it was a bad idea, is a really stupid proposition when all it takes is Reike having R5 questioned to realize Rhys lied.
Do you have any ideas on how to get R5's memory wiped without it looking suspicious as fuck and validating Reike's gut feeling that Rhys betrayed him?
You think Reike wouldn't check the droid?
>>
>>45388102
The rebels can't handle an engagement with what is essentially the last active fleet they have.

If they got someone onto the flagship they could do it, but the empire would probably nuke the bridge so they couldn't upload it and pick up the rest.

It's a matter of speed and sacrifice for the rebels.
>>
>>45388132
Thanks for running, boss.

>>
>>45388167
Yes you are. Thanks for letting us know.
>>
>>45388144
Well what exactly WAS their plan? I mean, hold on someone explain this to me.

WE HAD to give Reike the coordinates, we couldn't just give him nonsense ones. He had most of our friends on board his ship.

The rebels know this. So they were going to have to fight the fleet one way or the other. This should already be factored in
>>
>>45387738
Nigger have you even read the quest?. That was what he has been from thread fucking one.
>>
>>45388190
But muh Rebels
And muh I don't want the Empire to win
And muh dick
>>
>>45388190
To the Rebels' credit, they had a minor headstart on Reike.
>>
>>45388071
>fuck Reike over for 40k when he will pay us 100k
We were pulling a Lotte on Reike, and now we did the same to Eudora.
>>
This thread turn a fucking 180, i don't even know anymore.

I mean what the fuck?
>>
>>45388219
That's the problem with being a one-man scummer: you get pushed around by everyone, especially the Empire.
>>
>>45388190
Rebel fags are bitching even though we had literally no alternative.

>>45388219
>same on Eudora
>when she KNOWS we'll have to give him the coordinates and she'll run into the fleet
>When the likelihood of us getting found out is fairly high.
I mean come on she knows she's either getting a slight surprise and head start on a massive force, or non at all if they use inquisitors to sense or question us. She's not a moron.
>>
>>45388151
Because R5's memory banks, like all droid brains, is designed to hold all information it sees and hears until it gets a memory wipe.
Did you forget that when R5 told us it thought giving the coordinates to the Rebels was a bad idea, that it is a droid? That it doesn't just selectively delete its memory?
>>
>>45388239
Rhys gave the Rebels a chance, Reike ruined whatever chance they had, and Rhys now feels like shit about it.
>>
>>45388208
No it wasn't. It's why we didn't throw Misri to the wolves. My issue isn't that we worked with the Empire. It's that we went and fucked over the rebels first, then ran back.

>>45388239
Schteel doesn't do final destinations and if you give people a long enough time to fuck up votes this happens.
>>
>>45388210
Right so, even if Reike know nows that they're going after the flagship it's not exactly going to change things.

It wasn't like the Empire was going to show up with one ship to secure THE LARGEST PRE-CLONE WAR FLEET

They must have factored in that we were going to tell the empire that "hey the rebels are going to try to take the Katana" and that they'd all come in gunning for a fight
>>
>>45388272
They know Reike is not a fool and has access to the Inquisition. I'd imagine they've planned for shit along those lines.
>>
t>Sees thread.

>Sees results.

i'm sorry German but i'm going to have to do the updates another day.
>>
>>45388248
She's not stupid but Eudora probably thought he had some sense of honor towards comrades left given Rhys had taken such an extreme chance to meet her nearly-alone. Clearly not.
>>
>>45388311
Deal with it faggot.
>>
>>45388248
Yeah basically this. Unless the rebels are pants on head retarded they'd count on the empire getting the information out of Rhys

Hell Eudora didn't even ask us NOT tell the empire, she knew that it wasn't an option
>>
>>45388319
We literally had no choice but to give them the coordinates, and Reike is KNOWN to have two pet Inquisitors. Who are known to use mindfuckery and know what shouldn't be known. If she hasn't taken into account for Rhys being made to tell on her through various means she's more shortsighted than Lotte.
>>
>>45388358
Patching up the fuck up?
>>
>>45388358
I wouldn't be surprised if they actually fed us bad information about what they intended to do with the katana fleet on the off chance that something like this happened

>>
>>45388486
Could we have fabricated a convincing lie to give Reike the shake? There were a lot of options supporting it
>>
>>45388486
So how badly did Rhys fuck up?

The Rebels are aware that they have borrowed time before Reike's fleet shows up?
>>
>>45388486
We were promised a place to sell the auridium at full market value and to fly TIE prototypes. Have those been rescinded due to our betrayal of Reike, or are they pending the successful capture of the Katana Fleet?

>>45388500
Rhys underneath his bravado and confidence is actually quite scared of the Empire and of Reike. He's stuck under him unless you can give him the balls to just say "no".

>>45388505
Reike still would have suspected something considering how randomly you left the ship. He's not a fool and not a lot gets by him.

>>45388519
Eudora especially was fully aware that you'd run back to the Empire when you and her were making the deal. It's the reason why they left immediately. She knew they couldn't keep you captive nor could they just bribe you to keep you quiet, so they just let you go.

>>45388530
No, Reike is a man of his word. He's just a bit more wary now of you in terms of trusting you with important things.
>>
>>45388581
So they paid 40k just for a head start?

So she will hold a grudge then?
>>
>>45388581
So, all these worries about Reike betraying Rhys once the Katana Fleet was found, complete bullshit?
Reike has held up every item of the deal, despite Rhys betraying his trust?
>>
>>45388581
Is there any chance that Rhys can bow out of service to Reike and go back to non-war related endeavors?
>>
>>45388581
So i guess the relationship between Misri and Rhys changed due to him squealing then? Or does she understand the circumstances?
>>
>>45388643
Schteel just said we could, we only need to vote to turn down Reike's next job offer.
>>
>>45388647
Being Rhys's moral conscience, Misri is understandably repulsed that Rhys would sell out one of his friends, even if the consequences were dire if he didn't.
>>
>>45388626
1. They paid 40k for the exact location and a headstart.

As for a grudge, that's if she survives.

>>45388630
>>45388643
It's not about if Reike betrays Rhys. It's about what happens when Rhys will inevitably become useless to Reike.

>>45388647
Relationships in this Quest revolve around the personal views of the other characters. Misri likes it when you're altruistic. She's naturally light sided. Kuvasz as well is a bit on the grayer side because he tolerates your more disgusting behavior. Vikker is pure dark side and really only cares about himself and you and profit.

So yeah, she's not going to like that you dumped a friend to her fate for some extra cash.
>>
>>45388676
So why would she hold a grudge if she got what she paid for?
>>
>>45388676
Well it's not like we could just tell the empire to sit and spin. We promised him the coordinatess, we had the coordinates, if we gave him bad intel he'd find out anad then it'd mean our head.

...ah hell you're the QM, you already know this. I'm just telling you that we didn't do it just for extra money. We did it because ultimately we don't want to fight the Empire.
>>
>>45388676
Well to be fair what were the alternative that didn't bring the full ire of the admiral?

It was a rock and a hard place I suppose.
>>
>>45388709
>>45388717
Which flows right back to the very first question: patriot or not, Rhys is scared of the Empire.
>>
>>45388700
She's less mad that you're bringing the Empire down on top of her but more that you insist on believing in profit and the Empire even at the expense of friends and crew. You basically stole their food money for the next few weeks, she probably thinks that you'd sell out your crew if it's profitable enough.
>>
>>45388752
Well.. some of these anons are advocating it.
>>
>>45388731
Also Rhys empathiszes a lot with them. He can imagine people he knows and cares about filling the ranks of the people he'd have to fight if he ever actually did have to throw down

Man why can't just go up against black sun, or some jackbooted Compnor thugs or something. Everybody hates those storm trooper wannabes
>>
>>45388752
Eh to be fair, I thought she was pulling the wool over our eyes when she mentioned her original price.

I thought Rhys would have been more skeptical considering all the equipment and fights he had with the rebels had been like.
>>
>>45388773
Seriously, a fair number of players are looking for Dark Side Rhys.
>>
>>45388676
>when Rhys will inevitably become useless to Reike.
That would only be if Rhys vowed to never wok for Reike or the Empire again, though.
Even if Rhys retires from being scum, he's still been offered a test pilot position that he wants. And as a test pilot he's useful, and one that could be talked into doing the occasional job.

As long as Rhys doesn't go Rebel, he's open to doing jobs for Reike, even if he refuses the occasional one.
>>
>>45388804
on the other hand we have been destroying a lot of that equipment....
>>
>>45388814
>>45388814
You're upselling an awful lot.
>>
>>45388789
At this point the rebels are just violent disruptors and raiders. Alderaan hasn't happened yet. There's no momentum and the turning point hasn't been reached yet.
>>
>>45388752
To be fair she did do the same thing to get her crystal.
>>
>>45388818
This is also true but the point still stands, Rhys saw the equipment and what he had fought against if the Rebels wanted to show a projection of strength and the things they did involving the bounties, and how much they paid for info. Yeah they succeeded and making Rhys (or at least me) think that they had more cash.
>>
>>45388812
People who voted to get paid twice get what they deserve.
>>
>>45388860
To be fair, the empire does A LOT of dickish things before Alderaan

The outer rim territories get shit on hard, aliens get kicked out of positions of power and influence to be replaced with humans who are usually incomptent or racist or some combination thereof, there's restrictions on free speech and a lot of people end up getting disappeared. Hell the wookies and Callamar get shafted pretty hard without lube
>>
>>45388752
>She's less mad that you're bringing the Empire down on top of her but more that you insist on believing in profit and the Empire even at the expense of friends and crew. You basically stole their food money for the next few weeks, she probably thinks that you'd sell out your crew if it's profitable enough.

Like she has any right to talk. Though on the otherhand Rhys worded his defense horribly.
>>
>>45388924
This is talking about Eudora, not Misri.
>>
>>45388919
The thing there though is that it's still not enough to spur open revolt, just resentment.
>>
>>45388940
Ah, my mistake but how they threw their credits around like that before coming to us for the deal, what did she expect?
>>
>>45388978
Definitly true

Has Schteel said anything about which version of canon he's using? Are any of the now non-canon EU stuff going to show up?
>>
>>45388752
True, but Eudora should have known considering the warning Rhys's told her about playing the friend card.

Even though it was harsh, she can't deny it can she?
>>
>>45389025
I mix and match new canon with old canon, though new canon takes precedence. In this case, the various Rebel cells have access to A-Wings and B-Wings way before they actually had them in Legends.
>>
>>45388752
So? What did she expect?

He has no ties to the rebellion and i assume she know what happen with Lotte, right?
>>
>>45389045
So if Reike is going to let us sell the Auridium at full market price, will that be done in the next thread?
What about flying the prototype TIE's?
When will that happen, and how?
>>
>>45389045
So where are Kublai and Madclaw now?

I assume they left the ship considering what had happen.
>>
>>45389105
It's more about Rhys extorting cash from the already strapped for cash Rebel Alliance.

>>45389160
Next thread will deal with the consequences of the past few threads.

>>45389169
They bugged out, Reike letting them be transported back to the Waystation.
>>
>>45389188
But Rhy's didn't believe her or was it extremely poor money management.

But again what did she expect? that he'll happily accept 15k?
>>
>>45389240
That you had enough of a moral conscience to think about the people who'd suffer once the Katana Fleet fell into Imperial hands.
>>
>>45389240
That's why it was such a longshot for Eudora and the Rebels in the first place. They knew Rhys would listen to money, but not to the point that they would have to starve themselves to sate him.
>>
>>45389254
.....what?

Rhy's doesn't like the rebels, hell he only visited because she asked.

It's not as bad but that's some Lotte level mental gymnastics.
>>
>>45389257
>know that Rhys is motivated by money
>think he'll take 15k, risking the 100k already waiting for him to come and collect it
They banked on Rhys being stupidly idealistic and moral.
They deserved to lose that bet.
>>
>>45389254
Don't worry schteel! Won't let that happen!
>>
>>45389286
If they wanted to instill him with morals they shouldn't have put a bounty on his head.
>>
>>45389285
>>45389286
And that's why Rhys went dark side this episode.
>>
>>45389254
So how is Lotte doing now?

Is she still practicing her 'apology' speech?

She's currently winning back the respect of Admiral Reike through service.

And yes.
>>
>>45389307
If you can call it that. there's being generous but there is being taking advantage of.

They were willing to invest to actually find out about what we are doing but not eilling enough to pay to get the information they wanted.
>>
>>45389358
I thought she wasn't getting any respect through service because she is sent back to some back water part of space searching for pirates.

>>45389341
I know that was stupid reasoning too.
>>
>>45389341
>Making bank killing Rebels
>Working with Reike has been profitable for Rhys, he doesn't micromanage and let's Rhys do his work
>about to make millions (100k from finding the Katana Fleet, millions from being able to offload auridium at FULL MARKET PRICE)
>try to get Rhys to potentially throw all that away for 'doing the right thing' and 15k (which is the price of a one-way ticket from the Outer Rim to the Core)
>>
>>45389358
So she would have thought of us better if we just accepted the 15k?
>>
>>45389432
>Giving away a massive fleet for 15k.

Even at 40 yeah it was a big goddamn deal.
>>
>>45389358
Just so we're clear:
Eudora and the Rebels wanted Rhys to:
>jeopardize himself, his crew, and his shot at millions of credits
>jeopardize his one shot at piloting TIE prototype fighters
>for 15K
>and because it's the right thing to do

Does Eudora not know Rhys at all? This is Lotte-level thinking.
What next, stabbing Rhys in the back so that he sees the light and defects from the Empire?
>>
>>45389488
eh, not a fan of piloting the Tie Prototype fighter more of jeopardizing his crew and the millions of credits
>>
>>45389358
I bet Eudora regrets sleeping with him that one time.
>>
>>45389517
They were both drunk.

>>45389488
Eudora had the inkling that six or seven years away from the Imperial military would've grown you a moral compass or at least made you care about the average person.
>>
>>45389538
>Rebels
>Average people

Isis isn't average people Schteel. Now go vote for Emperor Trump.
>>
>>45389538
Clearly, Rhys needs more "hands-on presentations" of the lows the Empire will sink. Alderaan can't happen soon enough.
>>
>>45389538
Also, another clarification:
>Imperial Admiral has two pet Inquisitors
>They can mindprobe people
>on top of interrogation droids and torture tables
>honestly expected Reike to not get the info from Rhys

Or was it more a matter of Eudora expecting Rhys to hold out longer so that the Rebels would have a more significant head start, i.e. having 15 minutes to work instead of 5?
>>
>>45389538
>at least made you care about the average perso
Rhys doesn't give a fuck about them.
You saw how badly Lotte's attempts to rationalize stealing Rhys' treasure went over when she mentioned the Tarkin Towns and how it would help people in the Outer Rim.

Or is this a matter that didn't get out so Eudora didn't see how furious Rhys got when his money was messed with?
>>
Oh, is page 10 no longer the end?
>>
>>45389538
>Eudora had the inkling that six or seven years away from the Imperial military would've grown you a moral compass or at least made you care about the average person.

What? He became a smuggler and a fortune hunter, surely she heard things that he did.
>>
>>45389577
1. A bit of that too.

>>45389607

2. Eudora is smart enough not to push Rhys' buttons in the middle of a negotiation. Well, not all of them, money and being paid is one of them.

>>45389676
She actually wondered what the hell you were doing for the past six or seven years, she hasn't been fully caught up to what you were up to before the whole Lotte thing.
>>
Through all these clarifications, I think it's becoming clear that Eudora had know idea what drives Rhys, that she knew him as well as Lotte did, and that the people thinking we could bullshit Reike were wrong, and Reike didn't betray us when we gave him the Katana Fleet like some posters said he would.
>>
>>45389712
>1. A bit of that too.
Which one? The former or the latter?
>>
>>45389732
The latter.
