> CURRENT S̴̷͘͠O̢͠U̕҉҉͜L͢͟͢͡: HERACOR NAHIVE

The Necron Lord turned around and started to advance towards an indeterminate point with its back somewhat hunched and his ample shoulders softly waddling as they dragged behind a ragged cape that had been tailored aeons ago. Just a couple of minutes ago he had been joyfully glaring at you defiantly while your tank relentlessly advanced towards him but at the end its engines died and you became of little to no personal interest to him; afterwards he simply retreated kind of saddened for the lost of a worthy challenge and decided that you had to die not by his hands, but by the many Necron Warriors, Possessed and Scarabs that were under his command.

“Stop your relentless advance Xenos! This war has just started and I plan to live to see its end! I challenge thy to a duel to death here and now!”

He suddenly stopped on his tracks and turned around facing at you with its empty yet bright green eyes. Now that you faced at him more clearly you were able to see that his right arm was covered with a big clawed gauntlet that ascended towards his elbow and whose interior was filled with several thick green neon tubes that connected with his Necrodermis, on his left hand there was a firmly gripped Hyperphase Blade that glowed with an ethereal lux and whose edge seemed to phase in an out of reality.

With a simple mental order he sent a Scarab towards the nearest Possessed and made it latch onto its face. The Possessed man seemed to recover his control for a moment and for some short yet tense seconds he did nothing but scream and try to ask for help, just as his plea was starting to ask for the Emperor’s Mercy he was once again controlled by the alien construct; the man started to speak in a human yet ragged and dry voice, it was the Lord using him as a proxy between you two.”

“I am honorbound even with lowly species such as Humanity. I assure you that in case of my defeat I will allow you to continue with your ill fated escape. When my inevitable victory comes your men and you will be transformed by the Crypteks… you all should be proud thought; daughters and sons of Terra, due to your tenacity you have gained the right of being my personal servants for the rest of eternity.”

All around you several green pillars of green energy appeared from the ground and raised to the skies to the point of breaking the rocky ceiling, on the distance you saw an utterly alien landscape. The city was completely desolated, all its people and machines were now dead and abandoned, on the ground a thick orange mist covered it all, the newly formed energy beams now mixed with the orange hues and around them several Necron warriors of different shapes and sizes appeared along with several crescent moon shaped ships that started to ascend.

Well, he might not because it's a private channel but if he discovers it the Lord will feel pretty pissed, using the tank to attack him isn't honorable at all.

>Create a private vox-channel with the crew inside of the Tank and order them to charge all the Laser weapons of the Tank. Its engine might be dry but the internal batteries surely still have enough charge to allow for one last barrage of las-fire.

As quickly as your mind and agility allowed you, you created a private vox channel across one unused radio frequency and encrypted it as best as you could to communicate with the tank's crewsmen who stressfully awaited for any kind of development.

Even if the distance between you and the receptors of the message was of only mere inches the many Necron machinery that was surrounding created a static barrier that was nigh impossible to surpass, somebody somewhere was using invisible obscure frequencies to silently command all those Necron Warriors and Possessed humans at once as if it were a puppet show.

Soon enough you saw that all the weapons, including the Volcano cannon started to aim towards your archenemy. They had received the order and followed it, they had done their part, it was now time to do yours.
>>

>Get your Shield and Lance and jump of the tank to face him in honorable combat

With a striding jump you left the Tank and advanced towards an crossroad that was now empty yet filled with debris, abandoned vehicles and human husks. The place wasn't the best of the arenas but it was open enough to allow an efficient duel without encountering many unnecessary hazards, quickly you scanned your surroundings and looked that several of those vehicles had now their promethium deposits exposed due to the damage or being rolled over... that could be used against him but who knows if such a exothermic explosion would do any true damage to his living metallic flesh.

After advancing towards one end of the crossroads you saw him waiting on the opposite side. Around a small wall of observing entities appeared, Necron warriors, Xenos Constructs and formerly Human Possessed observed idly with their emerald dead like eyes.

Your heavy and thick rocket engine shield rested on your right arm while your Melta-like Lance was firmly grasped around your bionic hand. Your power armor made you be bulkier and more imposing in comparison with his skeletal frame but he was taller and more grimm looking... You two were monsters on their own, death incarnate in two separate bodies that were covered in flesh, you both had an equally obscure origin but no matter how similar you and he were only one could remain.

"Fear me Necron...for I am a Magos of the Cult Mechanicus and you are what I bowed to destroy."

>Charge towards him and try to stun with a dash of your rocket shield. Stab him once he's stabbed.
>Fly and try to make a falling arch with your Lance, you seem to be heavier than him and if you pin him down he might be incapacitated for a while.
>See if there is any vehicle near him that could violently explode, launch your thermic lance towards that vehicle and let the explosion catch him off-guard.

Alright, charging against him it is. As usual roll 1d100, since this is a challenging fight I'll ask 70 or more to make it a success. Remember that if we fuck up we can use some Non-Euclidean dices to get a +20 bonus up to three times.

Well, the rolls haven't been the best ones, but they aren't low enough to be considered crit fails. We can either burn one die and take this roll: >>45321985 for a moderate success or simply save it for now and see how the fight develops.

>Charge towards him and try to stun with a dash of your rocket shield. Stab him once he's stunned.
>Rolled 57: Moderate Fail

Step after step you start to charge with haste and feel the cold and humid winds impact against your face like a million of minuscule daggers, in front of you the Necron Lord starts getting increasingly bigger as he also starts to run towards you with his gauntlet covered hand tightly clinched and his sword ready to strike.

From the newly created holes in the rocky ceiling you can sense and see several failing fragments, some as big as small buildings, falling onto the city below and creating destruction as they heavily land, from their newly created maws heavy rain starts to pour from above... This is a dry world that only receives rain once or twice per year...you know that it isn't a causality, the forge world is a massive machine interconnected far and wide, the entire planet is a machine itself who is now crying for all the devastation that has been suffering and you, you are the last hope of avenging it.
>>
>>45322517
The moments before the impact time seems to stop, you place your heavy shield in front of you and press the accelerator handle that liberates the holy promethium across the four rocket like engines and gives you a massive accelerating push at the same instant as the Necron Lord curves his body and spins his blade in a circular and devastating movement. You weren't able to truly perceive the impact as all you sensed was a blinding flash of light and a great vibrating push that threw you away, as you stood up you noticed a deafening ringing sound stuck on your ears.

Fighting the sudden blindness and painful sinusitis you slowly stood up and saw that your shield now had a pretty ugly crack on its center. Far away from you stood the Necron Lord, somewhat damaged by the impact too and with some of its mechanisms apparently faulty as they spewed some nasty green sparks.

It wouldn't be long until he recovered from the impact. You had to act now.

>Order your men to attack now that he's somewhat stunned.
>Recover too, you cannot fight efficiently in your current state.

>Try to fight your pain and attack once again before he heals.
>Rolled 81: Success!

A great squirming sensation invades your body as you stand up. It is your many nanites inside your chemically altered bloodstream who are slow yet relentlessly repairing your body and bionics.

As if you were possesed by an unseen force your few organic parts and vastly superior mechanical ones get into accord and work in harmonic symphony to send you into a awe inspiring combat rage that makes you charge the still somewhat stunned Necron Lord with your shield.

Instead of simply ramming you used your tower shield as a bludgeoning weapon and activated its rocket engines as you were assaulting him, the result was a massive pain in your shoulder and arm that felt as if your limb was going to rip and fall down at any moment and a gargantuan trauma on the alien's body that made him fly several feet backwards just in the direction that you wanted.

His landing point was the trunk of a massive eight wheeler that transported refined promethium, his impact wasn't big enough to make him hit the vehicle and much less pierce the thick deposit that it carried and release its huge quantity of fuel but still it was closer than before and thus a small victory.

>Order the Tank to attack now. The combined lasers and the explosion of the Fuel truck should be enough to finish him.
>Launch your Thermolance and impale him against the vehicle. See how the Melta effects ends igniting the fuel and creates an explosion.

>Launch your Thermolance and impale him against the vehicle. See how the Melta effects ends igniting the fuel and creates an explosion.
>Rolled 67+20 = 87: Great Success.

You get the heavy shield on the ground and grab one of the Non-Euclidean and physic law defying dices, you promptly place it on your teeth as you once again get your shield and bite it with as much force as you can. It is of an impossible shape and pretty uncomfortable to bite but after resisting for a while the dice ends breaking and thus its unlawful nature ceases to exist. Nothing changes but deeply you know that destroying such warped item has restored some of the delicate balance in the Materium and that you are now blessed in some way.

Raising your Lance you activate its runes and see how its heavy power pack starts to vibrate and generate a corona of melting energy around its surface, what once was a simple silvery blade has now several colors surrounding it as it distorts the air around it and makes the different gasses that are around it dance in a chaotic tempo that disrupts chemical bonds.

Muttering a prayer to the Omnissiah and the Emperor under your breath you look at the Necron Lord and calculate the distance and angle to better attack him. After your quick calculations are done your aim is clear and correct and the weapon flies in a perfect arch towards its torso.

He has no time to react and its too slow to parry the incoming blade with its own sword. As if it were molten steel it enters inside its Necrodermis chest and wrecks its internal circuitry and bionic organs as it advances. The automated ancient healing code that had saved his life in so many occasions now turned to be a two edged blade as it made him start recovering while the Lance was still stuck inside of him and thus he became unable to properly remove it.
>>
>>45323800

Luckily for you the blade's melta effect also started damaging the truck's deposit who promptly started to melt and from which a boiling fuel started to pour. It didn't took long for the promethium to reach a critical point that made it explode completely. It was such a big explosion that it engulfed with it several other vehicles that lied close and created a chain reaction that ended obliterating several Possessed, Necrons and Scarabs and was big enough to almost devour you too.

After the explosion came a great tremor and with it a small earthquake that cracked the delicate floor and ended engulfing several alien troops and even an entire building or two.

It wasn't the end of the Necron Lord thought, from the fire and brimstone he appeared with the Lance still trapped inside his chest and strangely fused with his Necrodermis. On his arm his strange gauntlet was glowing as bright as the sun, it seemed that that artifact was capable of capturing energy within it and that he had been able to use it to redirect a great amount of the energy that the explosion liberated and ended saving his life. This wasn't over yet.

On his charred skin spirals of swirling smoke ascended as he looked at you with his green eyes that now looked brighter than before. He raised his gauntlet and aimed at you.

>Fly and try to escape his attack.
>Use the shield to protect yourself while you try to advance and try to get your weapon back from his chest.

As you see a small light forming on his palm you start to ascend higher and higher. From his gauntlet covered hand all the trapped energy starts to get released in a massive blast of pure pyromaniac energy that melts everything on its wake. As if he had released a fire drake the column that form on the palm of his hand starts to curve as he slowly moves to follow your own movements.

He is still damaged and his attack is slow but no matter how fast you fly you can always sense the heat of the following fire serpent on your nape. Whenever you fly a wake of destruction follows soon after. Several other vehicles melt and end exploding from the massive heat that suddenly forms and from your vox-comm you can hear the screams of the Tank crew who are literally boiling inside.

After some few seconds that seem like an unending eternity all the energy that the artifact gauntlet had trapped was released and so the infernal column vanished. From the skies you overlooked the city and saw and even more bizarre scenery. Orange mist on the floor, boiling buildings and vehicles on the ground, green emerald beams of energy on the distance and a constant rain that came from above...this wasn't your city, it was now something so alien that you instinctively rejected it.

Once again the surrounding static made your message hard to understand but you were sure that they caught what you said for they were wishing to push the trigger and turn the Necron Lord into a pile of molten slag.

You extended your six wings and screamed at him with a rage filled voice that transcended the barriers of your mechanical vox and sounded dangerous and imposing.

The Necron Lord was somewhat stunned from the energy discharge, that gauntlet might be able to store and release energy but it seemed that to do so it also drained part of the user's own energy and let him unable to act for some precious seconds. With your shield ready you got upside down and let your wings accelerate you like a missile, just as you were close to impact you once again activated the rockets and completely crushed him.

The Lance was also somewhat affected by the massive impact but luckily for you the only damaged part was the handle and not the delicate mechanisms. After such a gigantic landing you were also completely hurt and stunned but somehow you managed to regain furious and conscious enough to continue beating him.
>>
>>45325293

Buried several inches on the ground stood the body of the Necron Lord, incredibly enough it continued alive. His body seemed to desperately try to teleport away but he wasn't letting it do it, he was fighting the ancient code that was written deep inside his body.

"My body is urging me to phase out to get emergency repairs..." He says by using a Possessed person as a proxy, you looked at the woman that he was using and saw that a great part of her body was burn to the bone, she was surely only alive due to the abominable changes that the Necrons had done onto her.

"I wont...I promised you a fight to the death and that's what you'll have. You can now kill me son of Mars... the shard of Mag'ladroth turned you into a fierce warrior...thanks for this combat."

You nodded in respect and saw all the Necron Warriors and Possessed moving away from your direction, giving you a escape way. After recovering and catching your breath for a while you placed your shield on your back and got the Lance out of his still alive body, the weapon was now covered in Necrodermis but besides that it seemed to be unaltered. After completely recovering you grabbed him with one arm and flung him flying.

"Fire now!" You yelled, now that all the Necrons were walking away the signal was way clearer.

A massive red laser beam formed from the barrel of the Volcano Cannon and as if it were nothing it completely disintegrated the Necron on mid air. With both the fuel deposits and its batteries completely depleted the Tank had become useless. It had completed its holy task and now it was time for it to die in peace.

Slowly all the crewsmen got out of the vehicle, they were all sore from the heat that they suffered and having to wear a heavy suit of armor that completely covered them didn't helped at all. Any and all the movements that they did was the cause of a great pain but still they had the guts and esprit to continue advancing towards a well deserved liberty.

Along with you they got into one elevator and pushed the button to ascend. It wasn't until the doors closed and the elevator started to ascend that they finally breathed relaxed and felt safe. After getting to the surface you all saw that due to the rain the surface was free of the orange deadly mist, still it was nothing but a mere restrain as rain would soon fade away and the planet would once again become covered in its toxic grasp.

As you all ascended you saw the sun rise but it wasn't until you went higher than the cloud level that you all were able to see for the first time the warm lux of the sun. Such beautiful projection didn't lasted long as soon from these same clouds several hundreds of Necron ships started to ascend until they reached the void. You all weren't safe yet.

As soon as you had reached the High Orbit of Telematha you had been trapped in the crossfire of the vile Necrons that were decimating the Imperial Navy with their Crescent Moon shaped voidships. Chaos had ensured and everybody was running trying to hopelessly find somewhere to be safe or useful.

The area of the ship you were in was currently crowded with scared people and stuck servitors that didn't knew where to go. On the distance you heard several spine chilling screams at the same time as the red lights of alarm turned on and made everything even more chaotic. From the vox-speaker system a very loud prayer started to blast muffling the sound of all the screams and crying.

>Try to find the rest of your Seraph teammates.
>Go towards the screams and investigate.
>You are an Adepta Sororitas, not a Navywoman. Go towards the Drop-pods and descend towards the surface of the Forge World.

Link up with your squadmates

And try to comfort the people you pass, even a few words to bolster their faith in the Emperor can help

Since they're likely heading that way too

I'm sorry guys but I'm way more tired than I expected. It's almost midnight in my timezone and tomorrow I gotta wake up early. As usual about 30 minutes before I go to sleep.

The next thread will possibly be this Saturday and on it we will control Liwet as she uses the Dominic Pattern Drop Pod and then travels with the rest of her squad ( http://pastebin.com/fFMxxSMf )

Good night.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention it. This last part of the Quest we might control more people besides Liwet, there will also be a Vindicare Assasin and a Princeps but still, this all could depend upon your decisions so nothing is final yet.

I also want to say that you guys did well on not using the Tank to attack the Necron Lord, I would have made him catch all the energy of the lasers with his gauntlet and fire it back at the tank, completely fucking it beyond any recognition. The only positive outcome of that would be that the Gauntlet would break afterwards.

Thanks for running man

Fucking awesome, I'm just glad we've managed to shepherd the people out of the city, not that the surface is much better but damn it we're helping

Can Heracor retire to a nice quiet forge world lab after this?
Seems like the logical step after such a massive shitshow.

We can play Alaria instead.

You guys want a happy ending after all those gray and meaningless victories don't you? I have several possible endings planned and most of them are bad to one degree or another. Since Heracor didn't ended doing the Biotransference and got the Necrodermis Pariah body I can say that we have already avoided one of the worst endings.

>We can play Alaria instead.
I'll retire after this quest is over, maybe for a year, maybe forever. This is draining a lot of my time and since most of my players are american and we have conflicting timezones it is also affecting my sleep time.

When do we get a donut steel necron body?

More just 'an end' to be honest. Not due to any dissatisfaction with the quest, not at all. But because the sheer weight of crap that Heracor's been through cannot continue without becoming frankly unbelievable.
Loads of his friends are dead, he's spent the last month trying to save people and failing with almost all of them.

I was one step away from suggest Heracor just grab the Lord and plummet to the planet's surface before someone rolled a 99.

Not to mention his past, "destroyer of Jasdevi craftworld" sounds a lot better than "torturer of helpless little eldar girls and favoured champion of slaanesh" but the latter is much closer to the truth. It's only a matter of time before the Eldar try to get their completely deserved revenge and the longer we survive the more likely it is that said revenge will get the only people we have left killed too.

Never we didn't get it to avoid bad end.

>>45325963
God is subjective, I want a thematic ending that ends on a positive note.
>>
>>45326048
Hopefully Never. No sane Inquisitor or Techpriest would ever tolerate that.

He has done lots of awesome things but I still...somewhat consider him the same scared and scrawny techpriest that he was before.

He acts bold and valiantly but when I get on his skin I always imagine that he's scared shitless.

>he's spent the last month trying to save people and failing with almost all of them.
When I think back of all the stuff he has done and how in most occasions he has failed and saw people die I think that I went way too grimdark. I guess I'm sorry about that.

>favoured champion of slaanesh
Oddly enough I always think that if he were to fall he would be Khornate or Undivided.

>It's only a matter of time before the Eldar try to get their completely deserved revenge

There are a lot of things that haven't been further explained and have been left open so you guys can create your own headcanons. There are two chaos daemons who might be after us; Hekathonkhiros ( Khorne ) and Kankrinious ( Nurgle ) along with the mutated Karelia because we never truly knew if she died or not; there is also the fact that a Alpha Legion marine fucked us so there is also that, the renmants of the Jasdevi craftworld wants us dead and the Ork Speed Freak Madloota might have been impressed enough by our racing skillz to "offer" us to participate in more races and we recently knew that Heracor has several brothers and sisters who have also been created to be pariahs and lab-rats for the Necrons.

Even after the Quest ends there will be many things for him to do and while I possibly will never write about them I would love if you all had a personal theory of what happens afterwards.
