You and Goku sit at your house with the now-napping kids, the two of them finally calmed after the excitement of having their dad home again, Groucho staring at an unusually large deer from the window, finally able to take a break from playing with the twins. "I know you're here about Towa." the aged Namekian starts. "And... there is trouble linked to her. King Kai has informed us of something troublesome, dangerous. A special tree, something fit to produce fruit meant for Kais like himself, has sprouted. This tree, the Tree of Might, has potential to greatly enhance a living being's strength." That catches your attention. Well shit. Kami looks down and sighs. "...at the cost of tremendous resources. In order for one such tree to grow, it takes the resources equivalent to that of an entire habitable world. In essence, it drains all life from a planet, right down to even the potential for life to exist."

Both you and Goku stare for a moment, taking all this in. "Kami... if what you're saying is true..."

You notice him grip his staff tighter. "The worst part is that it's not even Towa who managed to obtain one of the seeds. It's... a Saiyan."

"King Kai has actually thought of that. Since Towa's become involved in this, he's requested assistance from the Prince of the Demon Realm. We'll see how that plays out soon, hopefully." Kami gives, a small smile finally appearing on his face.

Well, about time. "Okay, but still, how does something that dangerous end up in the hands of a Saiyan? Honestly I bet Vegeta would have wanted to get his hands on it the moment he heard of it."

"Or the Dragon Balls, if he knew about them." Goku adds. Egh, that's not a comforting thought.

Kami shakes his head. "We still have no real clue how it all happened. The trees aren't something most mortals should know about, and those on the other side who do know of them are in no position to hand them over to someone down here."

"The best we can do for now is try to keep an eye out for anything suspicious appearing near Earth." Trip adds. "And... prepare."

"Think Towa's going to try to have the Tree planted on the Earth?" you ask, already figuring you know the answer. Kami and Trip nod solemnly.

Well, you've got two stops for this. First, you get to Bulma's and explain the situation there, surprised to see the Crane School there as well. Seems Yamcha and Tien have decided to start up some training together, trying to help themselves improve and using it as a learning experience for Tien's students. Bulma's curious as to just how someone managed to move an entire planet at a whim, and keep it from King Kai, no less. But still, she promises to keep a watch out for this rogue planet.

Next up, contacting your brother and Baba, meeting them soon after you give Bulma your request. The old woman is happy to see you all again. "Unlike some a certain oaf brother of mine who never keeps in touch." she adds with a grumble.

"Auntie Baba, come on, not today..." Acer requests.

As the kids play outside with Undine, Goku and Chi-chi watching over them, you, your brother, and Baba all place your hands on her crystal ball. For a moment, there's nothing significant... but then an image appears. The tree. And there's Towa... with some being you don't recognize, looking over it. A blue man with white hair, outfit of a similar style to Towa's. They're gone as soon as you seem to notice them, but that's not the most surprising thing.

Looks like Towa was right.

"Hahaha, is that all you've got?!" a Saiyan with appearance similar to Goku's roars as he mows down several fighters dressed in white and blue armor. Near him are a humanoid alien, a pink slug-looking one in chrome armor, two small purple ones that look almost like dried grapes, and a large one with spikes on his shoulderpads and what sort of looks like baggy pants.

It's a clearly unbalanced fight, and the Saiyan's group seems to be more using the soldiers for target practice than a serious challenge. Unknown to them, though, a large, winged one seems to have acquired a strange-looking spiked fruit. It quickly leaves before the Saiyan's group realizes it was even there. The three of you focus on the winged alien, following him to... a ship? He enters it and kneels as he presents the fruit to a large alien sitting on a throne. The figure stands, tall, imposing, but with familiar features, almost like...

'This is big... bigger than either of you think. If Slug has one of the fruit of the Tree of Might, he'll become even stronger than he was when he was banished from Namek. Canon? Slug is the bigger threat. Turles is gimp compared to current power levels. He is younger and likely to try to make sure to eat a few fruit first.

Slug however needed to use the dragon balls to push his youth like old King Piccolo.

Slug also has a better force. A good collection of mooks and good sub-commanders. Larger invasion ship too.

Of coarse we can consider power levels to largely be tossed out, as Towa may be feeding them both some empowerments.

You spend the next few weeks putting in a tremendous amount of effort into getting stronger, and so does everyone else. Through your many visits to the Gravity Chamber, you get to know Tien's students a bit better as well. Lao and Shao are cousins, raised in a fairly well-off family in Mifan, with minor connections to the magistrates and other officials that now serve under Pilaf. While technically nobility, neither one really cared much about any titles, nor the pressure the associated with such class. They became students of Tien's Crane School in order to really get away from all that and find something more "productive" with their time. Bisa in contrast is from a much poorer family, having to fend for themselves for a long time, with the man himself being rudimentarily self-taught in how to defend himself and others. Tien noticed his skill soon after accepting Lao and Shao. A short time after that Keli arrived at the school, an orphan adopted by an old merchant who raised her on his own for most of her life. Interestingly, she seems to have taken a liking to your own student, the two of them spending a great deal more time together after Chuu Lee returned. If you didn't know better... eh, might not be anything. If it is it certainly isn't at the forefront of her mind.

Yamcha and Tien manage to keep pace with you in getting stronger, initially overtaking you in strength, but the two of them fall behind with the final attempt you make at 100x Earth's Gravity, throwing you right above a Power Level of 40k. Krillin is still stronger than you, as is Goku, but your efforts pay off really well, with only Chuu Lee matching you exactly, and she had a head-start. What surprises everyone are Raditz and Piccolo, Raditz almost hitting 20,000 and Piccolo managing to put himself over 60,000. The two of them apparently went to Darkness, to give a shot at the Ultra Divine Water. They passed Darkness' tests, though the being claimed that Raditz still hasn't reached his full potential, even after drinking the water. There are still things holding him back, clouding his mind, that he must overcome to really hope of ever matching his brother.

Lastly, you manage to come up with a helpful new skill: modifying the False Moon technique ever so slightly, you manage to get it to shoot a burst of amplifying power to help someone out. Thing is, it isn't an easy skill to create, and while you could have managed it on your own, you got help from a surprising source: Pantea. She viewed it as a way to return the favor of you teaching her the CLOTHES BEAM, and while some experiments with the skill end up quite literally blowing up in her face (though not dealing any significant damage, to her parents' combined relief), she manages to help you develop it. She admits she's aware that her mom and dad wouldn't ever let her on the "front lines" of any conflict any time soon, she still wants to find some way to help.

By December 23rd, it feels like you all have done as much as you could for your training. And not a moment too soon, as Bulma informs you all of am object approaching the Earth, traveling at high speeds that seems to have just popped out of nowhere in the Solar System.

Your attacks blast into the gate, all of them focusing as best they can into a more coherent combined beam, which then blasts through Chi-chi's gate. It takes a moment for the beams to travel to their target... but they hit it, dead on. There is a brilliant, blinding explosion as it vanishes. For a moment, it looks like it was a rousing success...

And then you all notice there's still a few chunks, now molten and accelerated by the explosion, headed straight for you all. Without a second to spare, you all blast at the incoming debris, you quickly using your Spirit Star to take out one of the largest chunks.

Hah, actually kind of my thought process on this. Could play it up as the difference between a "Wisdom" hero and a "Courage" hero. The Courageous hero will face any challenge, fight any foe, and keep going against whatever challenges they may face. The Wise hero will gather together people that can balance out strengths and weaknesses, and use what skills fit each situation best.

If I were to use Twilight Princess as an example, a "Wisdom" hero/ine would be recruiting Rusl and the rest of the Resistance to help scout out dungeons and overcome foes directly. The "Wisdom" hero wouldn't be sitting back and letting the others do it, of course, but they'd have backup to help them out in certain areas.

This Zelda would be somewhere between 16 and 19, Hyrule's fall happening when she was just a child. Perhaps the Hero in green was older than her, but not by much, when it all happened (like, 14 at the oldest).

The "setting" would be a mixture of things, bits from the classics, bits from the 3D Zeldas, bits from the handhelds, and perhaps a bit of original stuff thrown in there to keep things interesting. But the focus of it would be on a "fallen" Hyrule brought about by the previously described scenario, recognizable as such.

The one time I did lose here was when everyone just Eh'd that Galvanic Phantasm thing into the quest. The guy who made it was so enthusiastic about it, and even the QM liked it, despite "Galvanic" being the least fitting electrical adjective that guy could have picked. Galvanic is something that happens really quick, and our Charging Move is decidedly not. Also, what kinda spooky noun is Phantasm? That's like another word for a bad dream. He just threw together two random words because he liked the way they sounded, and most people okayed it.
