Gryphon can learn… [Choose one]
>Scratch Dance (1-3 Weak Slash to multi-targets)
>Sukukaja (Boosts party's agility by 1 level)
>Stun Needles (1-3 Weak Gun damage to multi foes, 60% Bind)

fucking...since when was Dormia 90%!? I was going to pick dekaja, but 90% is way too good for keeping missions subtle and collateral low.

For that last one, I know negating buffs was useful in the games, but putting an enemy to sleep offers all sort of non-lethal RP options.

Still it was fun hanging out with her (babysitting) as a couple of young girls in the demon world. Which leads into killing a bunch of angels.

Let's just say that I fucking shit a brick out when I beat him. My ass was clenched the tightest it's ever been during that entire fight.

=========================

“That case had the summoner spit-roast by a wooden spike. You’re thinking about a different case,” Brady mutters. “The one with nothing left except for a puddle-”

“Be that as it may,” You cut in, “We have a beach to scope out tomorrow. Let’s get our gear ready, and hit the sack early tonight. If Fitz is right and Victoria’s genre-savvy enough, then we’re gonna have a bad time tomorrow.”

Everyone nods their ascent and says their own affirmation. With that, the meeting is adjourned, and all of you head to your respective ways. Right now, you plan to…

>Hit the showers, hit the hay, go to sleep. [Wake up 'Rested', gain 1.5x EXP tomorrow for eight hours.]
>Call Alyssa to confirm you’re showing up. [Contact the contact, gain new information]
>Talk to Brady/Fitz/MacKay/Victoria. (Pick one) [Get closer to comrades, smoothing things over]
>>
>>45222485
>You bought her Ice Cream afterwards, right?
We didn't personally. Honestly they should have both got ice cream (The MC just turned 14, so that constitutes as little girl status). Instead we asked for a item that lets us cast Debilitate. I'm sure Nebrios and Belial got her some after we left.

…talk with Alyssa. Probably should just let the girl know that you’re gonna show up. If there’s anything that you remember mom telling you, it’s that calls are much preferred over text messages. ‘sides, text messages lack the finer tonal inflections that voices have. They cannot into sarcasm or authentic concern.

The last time you tried to call a girl, your siblings gave you no end about it. And the talk that Mom gave you? You were THIS close to just throwing your hands up and driving off in the middle of the night if she mentioned grandkids again.

Your team is probably more polite than your rambunctious little brothers and sisters. That goes without saying. And you gave them ample enough reason that this was only for business. This isn’t a ‘booty call’, or whatever Sophia was so eager to label your conversations with girls. Little brat.

MacKay and Victoria seem to be perusing over a laptop, checking out a news source. Fitz is in the shower, and Brady’s passed out on his bunk. You should be good to go without anyone interrupting you.

Once you’re sure that everyone else is busy, you slide your COMP open and hit the number tagged to Alyssa’s name. You walk towards the kitchen and grab yourself a glass of water as you hear the dial tone ring…and ring…and ring…and ring…

…okay, seriously what?

Before you decide to hang up and try calling again, a burst of noise suddenly erupts from the headset. The only sounds that you can definitely confirm are barely discernible whispers, excited giggling and someone saying “shhhhh!” in the most non-discreet voice possible.

It doesn’t take too long for the familiar nervous tones of Alyssa to come through the headset. “Um…hello? Is this...be quiet! No, not you, sorry....um…this is...A-Andrew, right?”

>“Yeah, it’s me. Just figured I’d let you know…” [Conversational]

Dear Agents,

Human Resources has recently brought to my attention that certain individuals among the Task Force have been engaging in questionable and downright unacceptable actions. Said actions have proved detrimental to the overall well-being of their fellow agents, the integrity of our respective nation’s secrets, and our standing with the United Nations Security Council.

With this recent development, Human Resources will be sending a missive to all of our agents and is to be read in its complete entirety. The contents of these missives are simply put, authentic examples of such behavior collected through complaints sent to HR. No names, ranks or nationalities will be mentioned or associated with each individual behavior.

Additionally, the ranks in which these tenants are presented are irrelevant, and are merely numbered in the order that HR has processed them and added them to the list. Yes, that is correct. God forbid that this should happen, but in the occasion that HR should collect more complaints, they will update the missive and send it out once more.

Knowing human nature, I suppose that it is inevitable that this should come to pass. However, I am expecting that we all take the opportunity to learn from the mistakes of our colleagues and never repeat them. Please also keep in mind that this is in no means public humiliation, as HR has maintained complete anonymity of the incidents and their enactors. These are merely gentle reminders of unacceptable behaviors that happen to be on display for the entire Task Force to see.

I am not being redundant when I say those words, if only for the reason that I wish to restore some semblance of professionalism to the ranks of Task Force 666. Alone, we have been defending humanity since time immemorial, but now that we stand together, we must make great strives to overcome our personal inhibitions and unite against the threat of the demonic.

Ever vigilant,

M

Director of Human Resources

Things Task Force 666 Agents are No Longer Allowed to Do

>1. In spite of their human-like behaviors and mannerisms, demons are still creatures of the supernatural, and should be treated with the utmost caution even at maximum Loyalty.
>a. Agents caught having sexual relations of any sort with demons, either from the wild or from the agent’s own COMP, will be subject to an immediate removal from the combat roster and a court-martial for indecent behavior.
>i. Addendum: The same penalty applies for humans trying to solicit sexual favors from demons without the demons in question reciprocating.
>ii. No, we don’t care that you haven’t had any luck with human men/women. This does not excuse inter-species relationships.
>iii. We are looking at you, Agent [REDACTED]. Stop asking your superior officer to set up blind dates with demons.

>2. Demons are not to be used for mundane tasks that are otherwise capable of being accomplished by Agents.
>a. We don’t care if Thoth asked you to let him take over in the first place. That is no excuse for an Agent to dodge out of paperwork duty.
>b. Addendum: using Demons for manual labor can be approved on a case-by-case basis (i.e. construction, renovation, etc.)

>3. Referring to Rookie Teams as ‘red shirts’, ‘cannon fodder’, ‘Class-D’, ‘Tactical Ablative Armor’ or any other derogatory label based upon their competency is heavily frowned upon. This is negatively affecting morale.

>4. ‘Bring Your Child to Work Day’ is no excuse to bring your progeny to work and ask for a tour of the facility. It is a serious breach of protocol and will result in court-martialing.

>5. The proper protocol when dealing with demons in possession of prehensile tentacles is to employ Slashing techniques, not to say ‘I’ve seen enough hentai to know where this is going’.
>>
>>45223591

Funny that you mention that...

>8. Commander Sparda of U.S. Operations is a valuable member of the Task Force. Referring to him an ‘angsty pretty boy’ or ‘katana cultist’ shows a grievous lack of respect.
>a. Saying that a white-haired stranger in a red trench coat asked you to do so not a valid excuse.
>i. We don’t care whether or not he bought you pizza. As a matter of fact, accepting gifts from non-Task Force employees in exchange for favors is in direct violation of the rules. Report to your superior officer for immediate court-martialing.
>>

Oh yeah, speaking of Pixie. I know we are going to keep her around as we fuse our other demons, but sadly she'll fall behind as threats get stronger (Unless she eventually goes Super Pixie) right? So I got an idea.

We are a combat medic right? And some things a surgeon can't do and some things healing magic can't do either.

So why don't we train her to be our assistant during medical treatment in the field. Say Fitz takes a bullet, we can work on getting the bullet out while Pixie uses magic to stabilize her/stop blood loss, etc. Be super coordinated and all.

It's just official ruling. It goes without saying (unspoken rules) that not every summoner treats their demons like tools, and there are established camaraderie among human and demon. Boils down to something like this:

>Friends/comrades = Fine.
>Sexual relationship = NO.

There are so many bad uses for human semen in the hands of demons.

Demons learning feats unrelated to combat. Maybe that could be a thing.

How does Super Pixie cheapen the rest of the story? She's a late game demon, makes her completely viable as a combat option and is totally adorable.
Super Pixie totally has a chance of happening.

Even if you somehow depicted both the Amala-powered transformation and her reaction in terms of personality and behavior as not comical, would there be a reason NOT to have her out for 90% of situations?
>>
>>45224014
If you need other demon skills or abilities or to give her a rest. I mean, even Super Boss Demi-Fiend didn't have her out all the time, he used other demons.
>>
>>45224014
I would have her out for most situations and we are talking late late game/quest
>>
>>45224054
at 99 STR, her BASIC ATTACK would wreck shit.

The point is that she would not only be "viable", she would make every other demon comparatively NOT viable. If you allowed that level of power jump, you are inviting in power creep just so everyone else can keep up and keep combat interesting.

And that's a waste from a narrative point of view.

...ignoring the noise of the peanut gallery on her end of the phone, you decide to play it smooth. Not too smooth though. Using Mnemosyne is a last-resort option, and it’s probably best not to lead her on too much for the sake of her heart and your conscience.

“Yeah, it’s me,” you reply in a pleasant tone. “Just thought I’d let you know that I’ll be heading to the beach tomorrow, and I’ll be able to swing around your booth while I’m there.”

It would take a deaf man for someone to ignore the elation in her voice. “That’s…that’s wonderful! I’m so glad that you’d be able to make it!”

Another round of tittering from her end passes before you respond. Resisting the urge to sigh, you say, “Yeah, so am I. It’s real good that you’re putting the good word out there. Seen too many bad things happen to good people. Sucks, but that’s the way it is.”

“…yeah, it really does. But…hm? Oh, how are you doing? You said that you were out of state, right? Are you enjoying your stay in Delaware? Unless I’m not remembering correctly…you said that you were from out of state?”

“Yep. Coming straight from D.C.” Not a lie since that’s where you work now. At least, where your employers are based. But still not a truth since you were born and raised in Maryland. “Your state has beautiful beaches…”

It’s a real shame they’re currently running red with blood, you think to yourself grimly.

Again, she's a late game demon. The transformation also didn't give her 99 in all stats in Nocturne.
It gave her 30 in Nocturne, the max was 40. So it'd be more akin to 75 in all stats on a 100 scale. Still, nothing says Kaz has to keep to that either. He could literally just move her to high tier instead of maxing everything.

You decide to shift your train of thought to more pleasant ones. “…but are you feeling any better? You still staying hydrated?”
‘still really thirsty’

Is all you’re able to hear from an unknown voice before Alyssa’s voice comes back stronger than usual, as well as a bit panicked if your intuition isn’t off. “shut up- Yes, yes I am! Ahahaha…” She trails off nervously before continuing, “I mean, if anything, I’ve been drinking more water since we finished putting up the booth. I did some reading of dehydration, so…let’s just say that I got scared about being dehydrated.”

You would too, if you weren’t in the know. “Just be sure not to drink too much water, though. Too much of a good thing is just as bad, if not worse. Hyponatremia is equally dangerous as dehydration.”

The tilt of her head in confusion is easily apparent in her voice. “Hypo…hypo-what-now? All of your medical terms are going over my head.”

Chuckling softly, you wave your hand in the air in a reflexive gesture of ‘don’t worry about it’ in spite of her clear lack of physical presence next to you. “Just don’t drink too much water. Find a nice balance for yourself. You know you better than me.”

‘that can be easily rectified’

What sounds like a scuffle on her end of the line ensues, followed by the sound of rapid footsteps, quick breaths and the slamming of a door. “Erm…sorry about that. I’ve got some…connection issues,” she sighs audibly.

You smile knowingly, and refrain from making a comment. “Don’t we all?”

>“But I’m worried about you. I heard all these rumors…” [Direct, gain some intel]
>“It’s getting late and I don’t want to keep you…” [Go to sleep, gain 1.5x EXP for four hours.]

I feel like that's just a lot of work when there's a more organic way to keep Pixie in the party.

Hell, I also really like the med assistant idea.

It just seems impractical to ever request Super Pixie when the other two options are right there, are easier to do, and could play out just as, if not better than Super Pixie in terms of interesting character interaction.

There is absolutely zero reason for it to happen and many reason for it not to (overpowered, will require questing specifically for something we aren't supposed to know IC), but most importantly, it's cliché.
It was cool when it happened in Nocturne, because you weren't supposed to expect it. Doing it intentionally is a cop out, and I personally am against it.
>>
>>45224591
whoops, didn't read the rest of that line.

>>45224611
Let me rephrase: I can agree with evo->"Super Pixie", but in terms of justification, it would be more like Queen Mab being reskinned to look like Pixie rather than the hell infusion of Super Pixie.
>>
>>45224674
I think of all demons Pixie is least likely to get flak for hanging around regardless of power.
>>
>>45224713
Super Pixie isn't too bad as long as her stats are lowered abit. Like I said, push her up to end game high tier instead of instant victory.

>>45224681
Honestly, I'd say unless you knew about Super Pixie before hand, there was very little chance to run into accidentally
>>
>>45224769
You still got Super Pixie even if you fused her up, as long as you kept her fused form (to the nth degree).
So assuming you didn't accidentally release any demons, yes, it was quite likely.

“But I’m worried about you.”

“…eh? Wait, huh?”

You scratch your head and prose this from as detached of a perspective as you can. “Thing is, I did some reading. Seven shark attacks over the last two/three weeks? I wouldn't be getting into the water if the Coast Guard didn't clear it already."

You're still on the fence about getting your feet wet tomorrow, but you don't mention that.

“Oh…thanks, but you don’t…you don’t have to worry about us. None of the girls are going to go into the water. We’ll be too busy running the booth tomorrow.”

That’s one weight off your shoulders. The girls are going to be safe tomorrow. Still, there’s something else you figure you should bring up. “Well, the thing is…I heard about some rumors that’ve been circulating around town…”

There’s a brief moment of silence and deep breathing before her voice comes back in a dejected tone. “…oh…what…what kind of rumors?”

“Well, I don’t mean to say that it’s my business, nor that I put any stock into rumors in the first place, but I’ve heard…”

>Choose one rumor:
>“…that some of the Phi Alpha girls are being really disrespectful to the locals.” [Hearsay]

It requires doing an optional dungeon to get to a specific door that asks for "The demon that's been with you longest."

There's plenty of chance to not get there, not know which demon it's talking about, accidentally releasing or choosing not to take her, ect.

Your mouth tilts downwards and you hesitate before saying, “...that you’re running yourself ragged over your cancer fundraiser.”

“…hang on, what do you mean by that? I thought we already went over this. Drink lots of water-”

“Look, it isn’t just about the water,” you cut her off gently. “You’ve really been stressing out over the whole cancellation. I…I overheard it from some Phi Alpha girls when I went out to get lunch at Lazy Susan’s. It isn’t my business and I know I’m being forward when I ask this…but are you okay? Is everything alright?”

“…”

You’re greeted with nothing but the sound of silence, only punctuated occasionally by the odd background noise of creaking floorboards or breath. You’re not even sure whether or not it’s coming from your end or hers.

The silence is so thick that you could cut it with a knife. It stretches as the seconds go by. You even take your phone away from your ear just to make sure that she didn’t hang up on you. Nope. It’s still going, and you’re still connected-

“…my little brother has leukemia.”

“…I’m sorry?”

“They diagnosed him when he was…when he was seven years old,” Alyssa recites morosely. “…you weren’t there when we…when we set up the banner…but the image we’re using is a picture of him. Y’know…all smiling…and happy...without knowing that he could die within a few years…” Her voice hitches at the end of it, and there’s an audible quiver as you can her her struggling not to cry.

Oh, Christ. You had a feeling that her reason for working without break was pretty damning. Not like this, though. And you don’t even have the proper build-up of already knowing what the poor kid was suffering from before trying to comfort the stricken family members.

“I…,” You swallow audibly before continuing, “I didn’t know. I’m so sorry.”

“…you asked me why I was working myself so hard?” She snaps, a slight edge replacing the quiver in her voice. “There it is, okay? Just…fucking sick of…no, I’m sorry.” The edge in her voice becomes an apologetic inflection. “I…just…that…you didn’t deserve…”

You’re quick to reassure her. “It’s normal for you to be stressed. You’re not the first family member to lash out at me. Besides, I’m a big guy. I can take it.”

“…no, that was…that was my fault. I’m out of line here…” Alyssa laughs humorlessly. “What kind of fucked up situation is this? Spilling everything to a guy I just met? ...no offense, but you’re either really, really smooth…or I’m at an all-time low, and for me? That’s saying something considering how bad things are already-”

You hear a muffled knocking sound. Instinctively, you turn around, checking if it’s coming from your end. A quick glance confirms that no, it isn’t. But from the way that you hear her clothes rustling against the speaker, you figure that the sound is from her side of the call.

“…thanks for listening…” She eventually says. “…I…guess I feel better…but I have to go now. The others…they’re gonna get worried if I don’t go back…back to the common room. I…I guess I’ll see you tomorrow, Andrew.”

There isn’t really anything else you can say. Probably best to nip it right now, even without the external side of her sorority wanting to check on her. “…yeah, I guess I’ll see you too.”

“Mnhm,” is all you hear before the line disconnects with an audible CLICK. The monotone beeping drones on for a good ten seconds before you flip your Mobile COMP shut and stare at it in your hands.

Your grip tightens around the gunmetal cover as the image of a kid strapped to life support machines comes to mind. There’s never enough identifiers to tell whether or not it’s a boy or girl. All you’re aware of is the sound of frantic coughing fits and the glazed look of the living dead staring at you as you scribble down observations.

You’ve studied different kids at the local hospital. All of them had different terminal illnesses, in varying stages of advancement. Those are the dozens kids who form the image that currently haunts your mind, kids whose time has been cut short thanks to bad genes or just shitty luck.

And your mother wonders why you aren’t going to church as much as you used to.

“Dammit…” You growl. The urge to hit something briefly surges through your body, but due to the lack of an object hard enough to punch and the sound of your team turning in for the night. “…fucking hell.”

For the briefest of moments, you have the insane and utterly ludicrous idea of asking Alyssa where her brother is being kept. You would drive over there to have your demons heal him. One Mnemosyne later, no one would be the wiser, and it would be attributed as a miracle.

(cont.)
>>

It's probably Lilith.

Who isn't wearing anything anyway.
>>
But the conversation you had with Smith in the task force hospital comes to mind as you get ready for bed. About how this is the way things have to be for the status quo to be maintained. People would ask questions about how a genetic illness from birth up and vanished.

Eventually, the truth would come out. It always does. You have little choice but to accept it as it is and move on with your life.

Still, it doesn’t make you feel any better.
Ignoring the sound of Brady snoring into his pillow, you pull the sheets over yourself and drift off to sleep…

Movement in the water.

Pauses, listens, evaluates. Eventually, lurking. Only a fish. Name unknown. Knew it once? Maybe. But is irrelevant. Prey remains prey. Little point in worrying. Ignore the smaller details.

Big details remain. Big details remain forever. Feeling of pressure. Feeling of fear. Image of someone. Flash of color. Red, light, white, brown. Flash of white. Struggling, clawing. Transitioning to shadows, darkness. Great Will diminishes.

Burning sensation, body on fire without fire. Absence of heat. Only cold embrace of depths, of darkness. Lungs so hot, filled with cold. Juxtaposition, paradox, conflict.

Struggle? Futile.

Death absolute.

Death final.

But not now.

Not death, but not not-death.

Flesh warm now, but cold.

Swallow cold, no more heat.

Faster, bigger, stronger.

Apex. Perfection.

Not weak anymore.

Old gone. New now.

Rage remains.

Anger all that remains.

Last remnant of old.

What makes it hunger.

For flash of colors.

For blood of colors.

Tired of waiting.

No more waiting.

Seize the moment.

Hating whites close.

As the red sun rises.

Surrendering to anger.

To hunger for vengeance.

You wake up to the sound of your COMP going off. Fumbling blindly against the nightstand, you hit what you think is the ‘off’ button. Apparently, you guessed lucky. The sound of Delaware Morning Radio abruptly cuts off in the middle of a ‘Beach Boys’ song. Either that or Hawaii Five-O. You’re not sure which one it was. There is a severe lack of coffee in your bloodstream.

The rest of your fellow males join you in getting up. Brady’s still wiping the dust out of his eyes as MacKay emerges from the shower, towel around his neck and fully dressed. You try not to stare. Some people are just early risers. But how they do it is completely and utterly beyond you.

“Adrian, if you don’t mind,” MacKay pulls up a chair and sits down as you pull yourself out of bed. “I was doing some research the other night and I happened to stumble across the addresses for the local funeral parlor, and parish church. I think it would be beneficial for us to investigate them."

Huh. So that's what he was checking last night on the computer.

“Of course, I know that you’ve already planned to head for the beach. If it’s alright with you, I would like to be able to do some solo investigation on my own. I mean no offense when I say this, but I think we would be able to glean more information if I went by myself.”

I now imagine a fabulous-looking priest monologuing incessantly, posing all the while.
>>
>>45226382

I wanted a Lawful Good Is Not Necessarily Nice, muscular gentleman who happened to play football at one point in his life.

Do you know how hard it was to find pictures without posing or a plethora of bulging muscles? And even then, dressed in clothes that weren't a part of late 19th century English fashion?

Shit was hard, man.

You blearily nod and stumble to your feet. “Yeah, yeah…um…sure. Just be sure to call us if you find anything useful, alright? You gonna need a ride to get there?”

He smiles pleasantly. “Oh, no, I’ll be quite alright. Both are within walking distance. I appreciate the gesture, but please don’t trouble yourself on my account.”

With that, he brusquely walks downstairs, humming something under his breath. A psalm? You’re certain it’s a church song. You feel holier than ever after listening to it. Even had the right ascending chord structure and everything.

>MacKay has left the party.

The shower is quick to relieve you of all the stiffness, soreness and tight muscles that the mattress left you. It wasn’t the most uncomfortable mattress you’ve ever slept on, but it was one that really did a number on your muscles. Nothing that a few stretches won’t solve.

Ten minutes later find you in the kitchen, munching away at piece of French toast as you check your Mobile COMP for any news. MacKay is nowhere to be seen, but he had apparently taken the time to make a full pot of coffee for all of you. What a swell guy.

From a cursory look at the fridge, it seems that it was well-stocked in advance for your arrival. It’s full to the brim of all the ingredients one would need to make just about anything within reason. Of course, there are also non-perishables and quick eats, like cereal, Pop-Tarts and the like in the pantry. From the way that the box of Wheat Thins is open, you figure that’s what MacKay had to eat before heading out.

You take a look at your watch. It’s seven thirty-nine, and the beach opens up at ten. That’s plenty of time to cook food for your team if you had the inclination…

As far as making breakfast goes, it isn’t your worst attempt by far. You don’t seem to have burned anything, and everything looks edible. The taste, however, is somewhat…lackluster. It’s still pretty good, but nowhere near the peak of what you can and have accomplished in the past.

But whatever. You can play Iron Chef later. You take a moment to set the table and dish out the portions. As soon as you’re sure that you’re seated at what you think is the worst portion, you start digging into the scrambled eggs.

Eh…they aren’t that bad. They at least have more flavor than your college dining halls could ever throw together. Maybe you’re just having an off day. Probably it.

Fitz yawns as she and Victoria make their way down the stairs. Both are dressed in the appropriate attire for a day at the beach. T-shirts, under-armor pants for both of them, and sunglasses dangling from Fitz’s shirt collar. If you squint closely, you can see the beginnings of a swimming suit from underneath Victoria’s shirt, but you wisely decide to focus on the eggs before she catches you staring.

“Mornin’, Sawbones,” Fitz yawns as she sits down at the table. “Where’s MacKay run off to?”

“Solo investigation,” you grunt. “At the local funeral parlor and church. He’s the best one to send out of all of us for fairly obvious reasons, I would think.”

She blinks as she pours herself a cup of coffee. “Huh. Well that makes sense. Probably for the best.”

“These eggs…” Victoria mutters, chewing before swallowing. “They’re not bad. You made this?”

You nod. “Yep. Couldn’t share some with our missing priest, though. He was out the door and already full of Mini-Wheats by the time I got down here.”

“Terrible shame. These are pretty good. Well, better than anything I can make, at any rate.”

“…thanks, I guess. There’s also some sausage and bacon over by the stove that’s cooling off if you want some more protein to go with the toast.”

Fitz smiles brightly. “How’d you know I love eatin’ meat for breakfast? I swear, Sawbones, you sure you aren’t a psychic or somethin’?”

“Just a medical student who was forced to learn how to cook or else die from instant ramen poisoning in undergrad,” you deadpan as you dig into the bacon.

>Fitz approves +8
>Victoria approves +6

Brady comes down a few minutes into breakfast, dressed in a similar vein as you are for the beach. Like the girls, he also seems to approve of your choice of food. Something about how brunch is preferable to breakfast any day of the week. You’re not quite sure what he means by that, but it seems he approves as well.

>Brady approves +6

As soon as you finish your breakfast, you pile your plates in the sink and gear up. It goes without saying that carrying your Mobile COMP is still the way to go, but you also take into account the possibility of your involvement in combat. You have your nightstick in your backpack.

Still…you feel like you could use more power…and you do have concealed carry permits for all of you.

You don’t even wait to hear Pop’s veritable words of wisdom pop into your head before you make the decision to grab your gun. Better to have it and not need it, and all that jazz. The condom principle was something that he tended to live by, not that he would ever admit that in front of anyone else.

Once you load up the car, and strap yourselves in, you start the engine and head out. It’s about nine in the morning when you get clear of the residential neighborhoods. Traffic isn’t too bad going down the main road of the town, but the exit to the beach is veritably packed. It’s understandable, even at this early hour. People want to hit the water after being given permission to do so.

You eventually find parking after thirty tense minutes of searching, cursing, and shouting at all the available spots and other drivers trying to poach them from you. Fitz fills the parking meter with Alger’s spare change as you all unload the trunk. Beach umbrella, folding chairs, picnic towels, and a backpack of suntan oil and lotion.

The Task Force really goes all out when providing for your needs, if the sandcastle kit back at the condo was anything to go by.

But, you digress. At any rate, you should first…

Hey Kaz, as a person who has had a cancer in the same vein as leukemia, I appreciate the way you wrote the sibling of the person who did. My sibs reacted quite the same way in the sense of getting involved with raising money of cancer research and participating in charity events for. I had stage 4 lymphoma (lymph node cancer) which is a sister cancer to leukemia and made it clear within a half year. I did wanna say, for your know-ledge that leukemia in childhood has a 90 percent chance of survival.
>>
>>45228968
and after childhood?
>>
>>45228968

Thanks for the appreciation, anon. I did some volunteer work in hospitals before (my mom also happens to be a registered nurse), so I aimed to have everything grounded in as much realism as possible. With a subject as controversial as cancer, I have to use it carefully and approach the topic with the appropriate gravity and realism that is required of me.

And if I'm interpreting 'made it clear' correctly (as in you beat the cancer), then you deserve two thumbs up and a slap on the back for pulling through and beating the damn thing.

>90% chance of survival.

Problem is, Alyssa's little brother just happens to be teetering in that 90/91st percentile in that the doctors and his family aren't sure whether or not he's gonna make it to see his eleventh birthday. The poor kid is suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia and it's really taking a toll on his body.

>>45229002

From what I've read, patients affected with leukemia that are out of the childhood development stage undergo an average of two years of treatment (chemo, drugs, surgery, etc.) before being cleared. Of course, this varies depending on the person, since no two cases of cancer, especially one as hard-hitting as leukemia, are treated within the same time period, or with the same intensity.

Of course, if statistics are anything to go by, then adults with leukemia have a lower chance of survival depending on the type of leukemia diagnosed with.

I meant more about life expectancy after surviving it. It's hard to be truly sure that the cancer is "gone" right?
>>
>>45230787

You will never have a doctor tell a patient that the cancer is 100% 'gone' like a flu virus. There will always be a chance for remission, sadly. My best friend's mom had cancer and she had to go back to chemo..two or three times for treatment years after the first round of therapy was finished.
