A village forms near the Lavafathers shipyard, loyal Stonestars migrating to assist in the construction. Pylons of white bone and dark stone rise up, armatures swing through the air carrying carved stone and metal constructing the very first of the prototype ships for the Obsidianborn.

Stonestars watch in amazement as a large bowl of black stone levitates itself from the ground, an Obsidianborn standing on top to manipulate the hovering device. A Think Tank floats through the testing efforts, passing by a weapon that gathers a glowing orb of molten magma from a nearby pool before launching and splattering across the side of a distant hill smoldering from previous tests.

Think Tanks give lessons to Stonestars on the basics of spaceflight and the construction of spaceworthy craft. To the surprise of your Think Tanks the stonestars are quick learners, the best and brightest of them long been given lessons by the Obsidianborn in math and simple physics. Those researchers sent to the moonbase of Horizon's Drop already hard at work in their lessons as the Warriors are equipped with the new Cauldron-forged gear. Plates of bone and metal replacing their stone armor. The Stonestars are slimmed down and move with ease and speed through the low gravity, launching themselves with joy through the tunnels swinging arm to arm. Necrolyte soldiers left behind begin the basics of weapons training, stonestars equipping themselves with necroflensers and shardspitters or even the familiar Napalmthrower and Lightning Gun.

You look over the Stonestars under your control and in the service of the Lavafather. This race of warlike creatures show great potential to become a power in the galaxy and you are glad it will be under the service of the New Necrotic Armada.

Perhaps that's where the old Armada went awry. Why consume and reanimate when you can recruit and convert the living to willing give their lives and potential to you?

Completed Research:
>Hunter Squid: A large predatory cephalopod that was at the top of the food chain in open waters. Relying on it's colorshifting to sneak up on prey before jetting forward with a burst of it's powerful siphon it attacks while flashing an intense array of colors to disorient and confuse. It's body comprised of a large conical shell of light but durable bone-like material with an cluster of six barbed limbs capable of extending nearly twice their resting length.

>Anti-Air Missiles: A series of missile pods hidden in the mountain side provide aerial defense against incoming ships though disrepair had led to many of the pods to malfunction and detonate prematurely

>Mini-Rockets: Miniature rockets a third the size of a standard grenade are fired from a pod. Containing a small amount of propellant they are able to track and aim for moving targets to deliver an explosive warhead capable of being loaded with a variety of payloads.

>Rukor Eels: The majority of Rukors lifeforms appear to be a form of eel, cephalopod, or crustacean like creatures. Eels fill many of the ecological niches ranging from small finger sized scavengers to eels longer than a coffin hiding in reefs and caves, even including the vicious kryssers. The Ructu relied on a fast breeding eel that swam in large shoals near the shores feeding on smaller organisms or the local plant-life. Mildly cannibalistic a female eel is much larger than the males, laying large clutches of eggs that hatch quickly, the larvae maturing rapidly.

>Stonestar Equipment: The Stonestars given to the Armada to train for war or sent as prisoners inducted into the Necrolyte Legion required an upgrade to their equipment now that they were reaching for the stars. Stone and shell armors no longer adequate for space-travel Think Tanks have been given the task of creating new equipment for the echinoderms.
>>
>>45221261
Unlocked:
>Siphon Jet: A powerful organ capable of sucking in both water or air to propel a unit rapidly in short bursts. Provides a powerful boost in speed as long as submerged in liquid or within a pressurized zero-g environment. Outside of aquatic environments a unit would need a mode of levitation or flight to effectively use it when affected by gravity.

>Sting Whip Upgrade: Sting Whips can now reach nearly double their previous length

>Anti-Air Missile Tower: A tower containing a large amount of long-range tracking missile for the purpose of striking and destroying craft within in the upper atmosphere of the planet.

>Mini-Rocket Pod: A back mounted pod containing a cluster of mini-rockets. Once fired the mini-rockets race for the target guided by the gaze of the shooter, able to track targets with some degree of agility. Each pod contains three volleys of five mini-rockets before needing replaced.

>Kelp-Eel Farm Upgrade: Your Kelp Vats can now support a breed of necrotically altered Eel, the creatures growing in large clutches. The eels graze on the kelp while their waste helps promote the kelps growth in return. The eels gives the Kelp Vats a boost in Biomass production capable of processed for Cauldrons or harvested for feeding living subjects. Kelp-Eel Farms produce 15B Daily

>By studying the Stonestar form extensively using the corpses gained from Agona's campaign and the Stonestar researchers Think Tanks have come up with a new form of equipment for the race. A suit of interlocking chitin and metal plates replaces the stonestars stone armor. Cauldrons can create for them exosuit versions of their suits. Stonestars are able to equip two light weapons effectively or one medium or heavy weapon modified for use with their unique body shape. Stonestar suits allow for them to communicate with their coded language with a remarkable increase in ease of translation and speed of communication in comparison to their stone armor.

You can feel it moving deep below you in the darkest recesses of Rukor. The Beast is dying from the well of necrotic energy trying to bend the primitive mind to your will.

Hurricanes rage around your craft, the corvette resting just below the turbulent waves. Glancing at the black metal twisted into a crude armature of an arm, the spear shaping itself to temporarily replace your lost limb, then back to the screens where Aquatic Gargoyles tried to dive deep enough to spot the Beast. The titanic creature was inexplicably dying, reacting poorly to the domination attempt, and it drifts slowly traveling along what could only be the crushing pressure of the ocean floor.

The Beast of Rukor was dying and you fear you may lose this powerful prize.
>>
>>45221374
There was much to do and tend to.

The Beast of Rukor was dying from Necrotic corruption and too far away to control.

Necrolyte Legionnaires tend to repairing the research facility as a temporary base while relying mostly on their ships for shelter.

Ructu villages withstand the intense storms, exiting their burrows in the few sparse moments of relative calm to harvest bushels of kelp and check crab-traps along their shores and rivers before retreating back to safety.

Confederate warships surrounding the nearby system guarding the fuel and mining operations mobilize suddenly, a large portion including the Battlecruiser grouping up in formation. Rings of shimmering light flicker around the craft, distorting the light as they begin to accelerate, disappearing into specks of light in the cosmic distance as they jumped to FTL leaving the system nearly undefended.

Red-Leaf-Strains guides her herd through the rough mountains, guided by Dreamstone and Gargoyle through narrow and treacherous paths. As the morning sun rises a young plainsrunner claims they can see a black tower rising on a distant mountain peak but the morning mists appear, obscuring the sight of the fledgling city.

Punisher Agona spends her idle time as guardian of the Rukor system drawing up designs for her own specialized craft. She had been quite impressed with the Void-Terrors Lorgul and his Disciples piloted and desired her own ship, the frame of a Destroyer displayed on a screen as a Think Tank assists her.

There was much to do and tend to. What shall you do first?

this a prompt Jyoti?
Also How difficult would it be to make an entire planet into a cauldron. by replacing its oceans with necrotic fluid, i mean if we do so manufacturing ships in one gigantic piece should be simple.
>>
>>45221691
That would be quite a Godly feat. At the moment it would be quite impossible.

Planets are rather vast and nearly impossible for people to comprehend how vast.

NOW say you want to hollow out a large enough asteroid and pump it full of enough Biomass to create a cosmic Cauldron, that's another story.
>>
>>45221671
Send aquatic troops to try and keep it from escaping sinking, and try to pull it to the surface, failing that hack into it hard enough to grab as many pieces of it as possible for analysis.

We could do that but imagine the cost and I like rukor

Fall back for now and creat a ship sturdy enough to explore the bottom of the rukor sea and perhaps salvage the livathain corps

You motion to Nekris standing nearby in the Corvettes bridge, his own waiting nearby, with your temporary limb. His pet stalker rests in a corner chewing on a large piece of freshly caught hunter squid. Pointing to the screens where a marker notes the position of the Beast you speak, "I want you to track this Beast. Find it and investigate it. I do not want my prize to get away."

The General bows low, "It will not elude me, Lord Jadyk. The Beast of Rukor shall bend to the will of the Necrotic Armada," he says in his soft voice before striding away, the stalker trailing him with the hunk of squid clutched in its large maw.

Aquatic troops from Nekris' base pile into coffins and are quickly transported to meet up with the General and his corvette. The Coffins descend into the darkness with the Corvette. Powerful lights blaze through the murk sending eels and colorful worms fleeing into the darkness. Deep sea hunter squid attempt to attack a coffin but a single burst of a necroflenser turret distracts the cannibalistic attackers with the charred corpse of one of their own.

It takes quite some time to reach the depths and close the distance, the Beast continuing it's trek along the bottom before stopping suddenly amid a ridge of aquatic mountains. Volcanic vents spew boiling toxic water into the ocean, clusters of bizarre creatures growing around the spires. Aquatic troops depart from the craft and spread through the darkness, searching for the surprisingly elusive leviathan.

Nekris joins the hunt as well, his stalker following through the water as sonar pings through the crushing depths. Suddenly, Nekris was upon it, the general cresting a ridge and almost descending onto the Beast itself. Dark and colorless it rested in a valley with its body wedged against the ground. Dark blood leaked from the rotting hole where you had plunged your arm, leaving it behind in an attempt to subdue and dominate it.

The Beast has been found.
>>
>>45222780
Aquatic troops move to surround the seemingly comatose creature, ships landing softly on a nearby abyssal plain with their halls and holds flooded to avoid implosion.

Brave aquatic gargoyles swim near the Beast, keen eyes allowing to see the swarm of eels and predatory worms and crustaceans feeding on the wounds suffered from its battle with the corvettes. It took Nekris several minutes to realize but he could head a thrumming pulse through the water at regular intervals. He could not tell what it was he was hearing until he looked at the leviathan and realized it was the colossal hearts of the Beast but they were getting noticeably weaker with each beat.

The Beast lived but you were not sure for how long. It's reaction to the necrotic energy and domination sigils was...unfortunate but you hope it could help sway it.

Predator Nekris drifts down slowly to land on the hide of the Beast, bracing himself should it react to his presence but it remains still. Scavengers crawl and slither across its hide, taking out chunks of flesh, dark blood drifting in the water. From within his armor he pulls out a finger thick rod of black metal that twists in his grasp and you can feel it through your spear-turned-arm.

The Predator grips the metal and it coils around his palm as he approaches the wound from your arm. Stalkers and Talons begins to swim across the Beast, sting whips and shardspitters driving away the scavengers.

Rotted black flesh surrounds the hole growing in it's side, strange worms with feathery appendages twisting through the necrotic tissue. Nekris stoops and lays his hand on the Beasts hide and concentrates.

Your will reinforces his, connected closer than ever through the shared piece of the Spear. Nekris feels the presence of your lost arm several meters deep in the bulk of the Beast, funneling his will through it. There is stillness from the creature for some time but eventually he hears the ever-present thrum of the Beasts heart beat a little bit faster.

A colossal eye twitches and tentacles capable of crushing sub-capitols shift and flex. There is a rumble and groaning as the Beast slowly lifts itself on it's limbs and crawls forward slowly. It seemed to no-longer be capable of swimming under its own power, barely maintaining buoyancy enough to drag itself along the ocean floor.

Nekris rides the Beast with his palm pressed firmly against it's hide along with Stalkers and Talons hitching rides as well. The Corvette and coffins following through the water as other corvettes throughout the system make their way to Rukor.

>cont
>>
>>45223855
This goes on for some hours until the Beasts heart begins to falter once more then stumbling to fall with a cloud of dirt filling the water around it. They'd made it half-way to Nekris' bunker but the Beast could proceed no further under its own power.

Nekris pats it gently as corvettes punch through the hurricane far above then dive through the waters to join your own. Seven corvettes descend into the black depths to join the General his aquatic forces.

With the Beast falling catatonic the corvettes move to place themselves along the sides of the leviathan. Reconstructed use lines of sinew and coiled metal to strap the corvettes to the creature as you join Nekris standing near the cloudy eye larger than you both. The small piece of Spear uncoils from Nekris' grasp and slithers through the water like an eel to rejoin with the weapon.

You both look over the Beast, your disappointment over it's death a surprisingly ironic feeling that quickly fades as you get a close look at the creature. In death this leviathan will be a mighty resource for your Armada. Even in raw biomass the Beast was a worthy prize.

Engines burn with a flurry of boiling water as the corvettes struggle to haul the bulk of the Beast along the floor of the ocean. Unable to carry it to the surface directly they settle for skimming along the bottom of the continental shelf, the massive tentacles trailing furrows into the bottom.

Hunter Squid and other creatures of the sea move to follow the traveling feast, snatching bits of it and fleeing before the sentry reconstructed could drive them off.

The going was slow but steady and hours later the Beast is being secured against a short cliff near Nekris' atoll base. Facsimiles of a giant ribcage of cauldron shaped bone clutch at the corpse of the great Beast to hold it in place.

The Beast has been brought to Nekris Bunker.

Talons and aquatic gargoyles pick through and over the body of the Beast as zapper equipped Stalkers keep away any brave scavengers. The serpentine gargoyles dive into the body of the creature, wriggling through veins and meat like undead maggots. Almost immediately a gargoyle runs afoul of a worm-like creature nearly it's own size that attacks with powerful biting jaws that crack it's chitin scales. A Talon stabs a long skinny bone-spear into the flesh to withdraw the parasite.

The Beast was almost an ecosystem into itself with the array of parasites living in and on it's body.

We need to track down the Akham and Osijic Fleets searching for the ships we captured. Send our forces out to try and track them both down.

In the meantime we can send some Akham look alike fighters to launch a surprise attack on the Osijic and give them them some false clues as to who has been taking out their navies. False flag operations have worked well for us in the past, no reason not to do the same here.

A Think Tank is formed within Nekris' bunker and departs. The freshly constructed reliquary of necrotic fluid slips through the water and joins Nekris at the side of the Beasts corpse.

The Predator nods to it and the Think Tank spins, bubbles a flurry around it before it shoots forth and burrows into entry wound from your attempted domination.

The body twitches for a moment as Necrotic energy pours forth from the Think Tank, propelling the Gargoyles to begin their search through the body of the leviathan.

On Horizon's Drop a pair of Bloat Carriers lift off carry vast amounts of necrotic biomass contained in large vats for transport to Rukor.

Within the Rukor system metal shipments from the asteroid belt are packaged and ferried by frigate to the oceanic planet.

The fact the Ahkam and Osjiic fleets were both on the move did not bode well. You knew that the Osjiic were searching for the Scout Fleet of Sub-Admiral Estkri. The same Osjiic war-hero that became your general Punisher Agona and the same fleet your loyal Voidsinger once belonged to.

The fleet that your Eyegore spied greater numbers than the Scout Fleet Estkri had commanded, a battlecruiser supported by heavy cruisers and a cloud of sub-capitols.

You knew the Ahkam and Osjiic hated each other, a separate Eyegore watching the bloody conflict between the two forces in a distant system. The shipyards knew how to craft replicas of the Ahkam Fighters, a diversionary attack by a squadron of them against the Osjiic could perhaps delay and draw attention away from your system.

Mulling over the details of your plan you slouch in your stone throne, a dozen talons of black metal tapping a rhythm.

How shall you mislead the Osjiic?
>Write in with plans and ship order

>>45225286
The only craft we've got that look like akham are small strike craft, so our options are limited. Have a squadron of a couple dozen perform a series of ferocious hit and run attack. Have a couple of them use kamikaze style attacks on sub capitol ships to do more damage than they'd otherwise be capable of. The key to this is pissing off the osijic enough to attack the serpents without giving them any clues as to who's actually responsible for it.

That idea with the false-flag attack works... but we need some plausibility.
How about we create 'wrecks' of Osijic ships so that the 'Ahkam' strike craft seems plausible? Dress the 'Ahkam' strike craft in various battle damage, make it seem that they're the ones left to sweep through the wrecks and kill any survivors. Then have some of the 'Ahkam' attack the incoming Osijic ships (the real ones), some 'fleeing' to the general direction of the Ahkam fleet, while we set the space-mines in the Osijic wrecks so they explode when the Osijic fleet passes by.

tl;dr we false-flag AND damage the Osijic fleet enough for them to attack the Ahkam. Make it look like the Ahkam were just finishing off the Osijic ships, but they were actually booby-trapping... while actually it's our mines.

Sounds like a good idea to me
>>
>>45228064
I like this. This could work
>>
Idea for new unit inspired by the hunter squid.

A levitating shell protects the fleshy body. Manipulator tentacles along with a couple stingwhips of both types with many necroflensers. Could work as a saboteur or abduction role. Zips around with the new siphon upgrade

I'm imaging something like the Covenant Engineers from the Halo setting.
>>
What happens if we inject cauldron juice into living subjects?
>>
>>45232239
Horrible, painful, unholy things.

Let's do it!
>>
>>45232239
>>45233787
Sounds like its science time.
>>
>>45235017
MAD science by the sound of it
>>
>>45236332
THE BEST SCIENCE
>>
HOW IS THIS STILL LIVE
>>
>>45236683
WE RAISED IT FROM PERDITION!
>>
>>45232239
That sound horrific. Will have to try and see what happens

>>45230729
Would work if you get support to make it next thread.
>>
>>45237901
When are you running next?
>>
>>45241002
Tomorrow at 4-5pm Arizona time
>>
>>45241810
aw sheeiiiiit
>>
>>45241810
Possible boon for keeping the thread alive tell then? It would save you the trouble of making a new one
>>
>>45241810
moar lizards when?
>>
>>45245507
lizards never
>>
>>45245507
Are we talking bout sunscales? I thought we had enough to deal with between the serpents, space pirates, and pissed off space gorillas with unbreakable bones.
>>
>>45245507
>>45247816
>>45248153
I want to see if sunscale children are immune to the cauldron.
>>
>>45248153
Speaking of the lighting serpents, could we use the crystal tech to make electricity absorbing gems? They would act lick lightning rods for us, we get shocked and it goes straight to the gem, might even get something nice out of charged gems
>>
>>45248644
If they are then we need to make a better cauldron or just some way of studying them
>>
>>45248644
Truly you are one of our most evil.

But it must be done. For science.
>>
>>45248644
If our previous attempt to do so were anything to go by, every sunscale who actively worships their sun father deity (which is all of them, barring a handful of shadowscales) is granted protection from our necrotic powers. Until we find a way of subverting his hold over individual sunscales they're probably going to keep exploding every time we toss one into a cauldron.
>>
>>45249350
What if the lava father has something similar to the cauldron? Or we can work with him on making a cauldron that uses his power and not necro
>>
>>45249350
I was just curious if their indoctrination provides immunity even at a young age or if it builds up.
>>
>>45250123
>>45250123
I think it's more of a racial trait
>>
>>45254089
I think you're right
>>
>>45249350
I wonder what these Shadowscales/Blackscales are like?

Wonder if they're friendly
>>
truly even the threads are undead
>>
I thought the QM preferred to start with fresh threads?
>>
>>45256874
Probably.
>>
is it time yet
>>
How long until the Grand Necrotic Armada is once more sweeping across the galaxy?
>>
>>45262081
I say 10 more threads
>>
>>45256874
Which is why we should let this one fall off the board peacefully to allow the QM to make a new one.
>>
Delayed by flat tire. Hope to be home soon.

Best to let thread die, will start a new one
>>
>>45262128
I am greatly looking forward to this.

Imagine swarms of fighters and coffins descending onto our enemies worlds, darkening the sky and delivering millions of undead troops to the ground.
