>In this quest you play as the son of a Namekian who fled Planet Namek during the great catastrophe that nearly destroyed their race. You're young, and very inexperienced but there's no telling what you'll accomplish.

>At the end of each update, there will be options to vote on. The voting period will last ten minutes or until one option has at least five votes, whichever happens to come first

>Writeins are allowed, but if I suspect samefagging or shitposting I reserve the right to not use them

I still do this day do not understand why you insist on doing it that way. All that does is encourage quick samefagging and discouraging write ins.

Numkye offers to let you stay in his home for the night. Xidie walks there with the two of you, mostly to explain the situation to other people who are wondering why Numkye is bringing a strange green creature to his home.

The two say goodnight before Xidie walks off, presumably to her own home. Numkye offers you a cot to sleep on before climbing into his bed.

"We'll start training tomorrow," he promises. "For now, sleep."

Sure. Then after we go to sleep.

"Can you find out how strong I am?" you ask him.

He yawns, turning over. "Not until we fight, kid. So get some rest, because I promise that tomorrow will be a long day."

You hear him begin to snore, and lie down on your cot, closing your eyes and falling asleep.

You're awoken the next morning as Numkye yells at you to get up and eat breakfast because training will soon begin.

>A. Ask what he means by eating breakfast

>A. What is this "eat" you speak of?

...don't actually say it like that.
>>

>B. Get up and drink some water

Aren't A and B essentially the same thing? They'll just ask why we're not eating and we'll have the same conversation.
>>
>>45089948
>A. Ask what he means by eating
It's not like Namekians CAN'T eat, they just don't NEED to eat. Maybe we'll like it.
>>
>>45090059
>>45089992
"What's breakfast?" you ask in confusion.

"You know, it' when you eat something after you wake up," Numkye says, retrieving some kind of fruit and taking a bite of it.

You understand what he means, and inform him that Namekians don't actually eat.

"You don't eat?" he asks, surprised. "What, do you survive on water?"

"Yes," you say simply.

"Hmm, well, I guess I'll be saving some food, then," Numkye comments, taking another bite of the fruit. "Go ahead outside and wait for me. If you make a right when you walk out the door, then go straight for a while, you'll see a pit, we can spar there."

>A. Do as he says and go to the pit

You step outside, looking around and finding the settlement much more active than it was last night. Men and those girl things are walking about, discussing various things. You notice many are carrying pointy objects of various varieties, and some are even swinging them at each other.

You make your way through the settlement, noticing that many people are staring at you oddly. You hear them whispering to each other. Some know who you are, while others have no idea.

You largely ignore the people as you try to take in what's in the settlement. There are houses, of course, as well as some fires which people are putting various things into before removing and consuming them. You see people with pointy objects atop tall structures just behind the gate, and a few places where people offer to give things to other people in exchange for some small round objects.

You've done enough exploring, and decide to head toward the pit.

As you approach, you hear a chorus of yells and the clang of many metal objects clashing together again and again. Your ears twitch under the constant barrage of sounds, and you're sure that what you're hearing is people training.

Distracted by the noises, you don't see the large man until you walk right into each other.

You fall back to the ground, looking up to see a tall and muscular man with short hair, a scarred face, and a nasty glare.

You get the sense that this guy isn't just big, he's tough. As he glares down at you, you're certain that you don't want to make him any more irritated than he already is.

"Who or what are you?" he asks in a gruff voice.

You apologize to the man, picking yourself up and politely introducing yourself.

"I'm Bansuri," you introduce, dusting yourself off. "Sorry again for bumping into you."

He looks you over, giving a small grunt. "And where did you come from?"

"Hey, what are you doing here?" you hear Numkye ask as he walks through the crowd toward you. "I told you to wait for me at the-"

He stops short when he sees the big man, and you can detect the nervousness in him as he seems to instinctively stand up straighter and speak in a less casual tone.

"Hello, Nycrak," he greets in the tone of one who is addressing a superior.

"Numkye," Nycrak grunts. "You're the one who brought this...."

"Namekian," you offer.

"Namekian here," Nycrack says. "Why?"

"He offered to help us fight," Numkye explains quickly.

The large man looks down at you inquisitively. "Indeed. You can fight, little one?"

"My dad taught me some things, and I can teach everyone how to fly," you tell him.

Nycrack snorts, glancing up at Numkye, perhaps to confirm that you aren't joking. He looks back down at you, taking a knee to put himself eye level with you.

"You can fly?" he asks, staring you in the eye. "An impressive talent. And you say you can fight?"

"I've got a few tricks up my sleeve," you tell him.

You see the faintest trace of a smile appear on his face for a moment before his expression goes back to a hundred percent serious.

"And why would you help us?" he asks. "You're clearly not from around here. What benefit does this give you?"

"He asked to be allowed to live on our planet if he helps us," Numkye explains.

Nycrack looks up at him, standing once again. "Such a simple request. But you recall what happened the last time an outsider came to our world."

He glances down at you, and you can't help but notice the suspicion in his gaze.

"We need all the help we can get," he admits in a bitter tone. "But I will be keeping an eye on you. And if you want to stay on this planet, you'd best be sure you're useful."

Without another word he pushes past you and walks off toward the pit.

Numkye waits until the other man is a good distance away before speaking to you.

"Come on, let's go get started."

"Who was that?" you ask as the two of you start toward the pit. "He was rude. Didn't even introduce himself."

"His name's Nycrack, and he's more or less in charge around here," Numkye explains. "And he's not exactly the most friendly guy, so try not to get on his bad side, alright?"

You nod before changing the subject. "What are those sticks people were carrying? They look like fun."

Numkye chuckles a bit. "From now on, I'm just going to assume you don't know what anything is around here. Those are called spears, and they're a type of weapon. We have all kinds of weapons. Spears, swords, bows, daggers, axes, you name it."

The two of you come to a hole in the ground where people swing various weapon at each other, or fight with their hands. There are men, and those girl things fighting, and you feel as though some of them are very strong.

Numkye hops into the hole, turning toward you. You jump in after him, and he gets into the same fighting stance as last night.

"Stay on the ground this time," he says with a smile. "I want to see how well you fight, not how well you run away."

If I learned anythin as Super Human, is that head-on is rarely the best course of action.
>>
>>45091410
>>45091426
You decide to attack an opponent of unknown strength who is already on the defensive in preparation for it.

A cunning plan.

No, what's the opposite of cunning?

Foolhardy? Stupid? Reckless?

Whichever.

You run at Numkye and attack with a leaping kick, aiming for his gut. He raises his knee, and you bounce back, landing unsteadily on one leg.

Numkye strikes at you with his leg, and you fall back as you try to dodge. Scrambling backward, you stand back up and attack again, this time aiming for the face with a strong punch.

Numkye parries the attack and punches you in the face, knocking you away. You land on your back and see him relax his stance.

"You need to be less predictable," he tells you. "Attacking head-on won't work unless you're much stronger than your opponent. Go for something different. Attack in a way I don't expect. Or at least wait for an opening."

>A. Ignore his advice entirely and attack head-on again

"Nobody expects a head on attack," you protest as you begin to circle him

"But everyone's ready for it," he counters.

You look for any sign of weakness, and notice that his left side is a little less defended than his right.

You strike, managing to land a kick to his side. This puts him off-balance, and as he attempts a sloppy counterattack, you manage to jump up and punch him in the face.

This time, he's the one who falls over, though he quickly recovers and begins to circle you. You mirror his movements, and the two of you circle one another, preparing to fight.

>A. Feint and attack when he reacts

wouldn't that leave him with more room to maneuver tho?
>>

That's a possibility, but he was complaining about predictability, let's s show him we can do unpredictable. Plus surprise is a good weapon.
>>
>>45092141
>>45092120
>>45092175
You move back, trying to think of a strategy as you put some distance between yourself and him. You quickly realize that the fact that you're a namekian, the first namekian they've ever seen, gives you an advantage.

They probably don't know anything about your people's abilities. They didn't know you could fly, so they certainly wouldn't know about your physiology.

Numkye lowers his arms again, sighing as he approaches you.

"Come on, don't give up already," he tells you.

Once he's just a bit closer, you attack.

You thrust your right hand toward him, and your arm stretches away from your body. You see Numkye's eyes go wide in surprise, and he barely manages to leap out of the way of your punch.

>A. Punch with the other arm

You lower your arm and grab Numkye by the leg.

"Woah, woah, what is going-AAAAAAAAAAAH!" he shouts as you begin to retract your arm, causing him to fall and get dragged across the dirt.

A few of the other fighters stop to watch as the man flails around while being dragged toward you. You're pretty sure that when he reaches you, you'll have a second to attack, you should make it count.

>A. Go for a kick to the face

>B. When he gets closer, stretch your other arm, let go of his leg, and use both to grab him by the throat and lift him up

Once he's close enough, you release his leg, you grab him by the throat with both hands and lift him into the air.

He stares at you in shock, and you set him down, retracting your arms. It's just a spar, after all, you don't want to hurt him.

"Well that was....something," Numkye admits while the nearby crowd murmurs.

"Hmmph, you do have some fight in you," a gruff voice says.

Nycrack approaches, and the others step back to get out of his way. He keeps coming until he towers above you, looking down.

"Let's see just how much."
