"If we only had a way." the monk replied. "They are demons, son, demon HEARTS. Don't expect any worldly weapon to be able to harm them - not even the Blue Witch can with her magic."

"Why?" you asked.

"The Blue Witch is a patron of Life, son. She deals with the living, warping it, transforming it. The Demon Hearts are all dead, son, yet moving. They're a different kind of being, as per the forbidden scripture's lore."

You then remembered about you stay at the Red Witch, and your studies of her body. It was biological, yes, but also a great deal of it was geniusly mechanical, to compensate her own lack of expertise in biotech. She had even replaced one of her eyes with a robotic substitute instead of growing a new one, and added new features, like robotic tentacles.

If there was anyone skilled enough to deal with a robotic challenge, it was her.

You did have a lot of talent for robotics yourself, though.

"Son, I can clearly see that you're interested in dealing with Demon Hearts. I can help you get the arrangements, if you're interested, but note that we have a very strict policy on taboo material. Your ability to request resources on the matter from us will be limited." he explained.

After talking to some people and arranging verbal bureaucracy, they let you enter a deeper room in the Underground. As you did, you passed Tina's jail cell - and she greeted you with oozing sarcasm, speaking from her cell.

They later asked you to change into religious gowns, and to comb your hair backwards, to keep our forehead revealed - because of belief reasons. You were now in holy grounds.

You were escorted to a room that had several parchments with symbols painted on them pasted on the door. The titan that was with you then made a hand gesture on your head, while muttering some chant.

"You are good to go in now." he then said. "You have a good couple hours. Take your time. If you start to feel sick or uneasy, just tell me. I'll be right here. I'm a qualified exorcist."

"Alright." you said, and went inside.

The "scriptures" here were several plasticized loose pages from instruction manuals and textbooks, along some research papers. Most of it didn't relate to the Demon Hearts directly, but they did describe robotics, most of the which you already knew.

You learned that the Demon Hearts have a long-enduring internal nuclear battery, and that they control foreign machinery by building nanobots in chains embedded in the material they're trying to take, starting by their own surface, eventually creating "veins" of stationary nanobots. You also learned that they had multiple channels of communication, and that one of them was conventional radio. You couldn't find which one were the others, but you did know that they existed. You also learned that they can't build their "veins" into organic matter.

You couldn't figure out much else.

After that, you requested to get your hands on a Demon Heart for yourself, but they said that they couldn't. Exposing demonic material was too dangerous, and that it had to be throttled, for safety reasons, mostly based in their superstitions.

You spent the rest of the day trying to make a Demon-Capturer. You knew that they couldn't interact with organic matter - so you made box of a sort, lined with gel on the inside. You could then grow a living layer of skin over the gel, by harvesting some of your own. You had equipment that could analyze organic matter here, so you could plug that into the skin layer and be able to research the captured Demon Heart better.

You decide to fight.

You ducked into one of the houses, and looked for a light weapon. You grabbed several grenade-looking devices, and hid in between the houses. The Titans countered the Type-5 as they did before - in pairs.

You soon noticed that they all moved in synconicity, and that you were an odd one left out. Somehow, they had a kind of hive-mind, some way to read each other's body language and work in unison, elegantly.

While you were just awkwardly there, looking for an opening and trying to be useful, somehow.

As the fight developed, you managed to get your sights on the Demon Heart - which was embedded within one of the droids.

Valiantly, you stepped out of your hiding spot, and tried to thow a grenade at it. As it flew mid-air, a droid turned towards you. You had picked a bad moment to make your attack, and had been careless. A salvo of bullets flew forth, and managed to slice through your deltoid before the grenade blew against the Heart, exposing it and right then - causing the others to flee.

The Titans gathered around you, as one of their medics worked expertly on your arm. "We appreciate your efforts, Pure One." one of them said.

"I believe that it was unnecesarily reckless." another commented, in mild concern.

"But *brave*" another mentioned. "He helped make the battle shorter as well. He doesn't have a Titan body, but in heart, he is like us."

"I-I'd like to have that Demon Heart." you then told them, as you braced down the pain. "

"Is that why you risked yourself?"

"Yes. Am I not worthy?" you added.

They looked at each other uneasily. Soon, a nonverbal consensus seemed to arrive, as they nodded to each other.

"We will try to stall the Underground." they said. "We will have to tell them that you have the Heart, but we will try to help you keep it."

"Don't get your hopes up for keeping it for too long, though." another added. "Do what you need to do, quick."

Then, a sequence of electronic gibberish replied. The camera turned aside, and you could see that it was on a metallic table of a sort, in a fragment of the video. Part of the view was obscured, as if you were looking through broken glass, and only some of the fragments could "see". Cables started to move nearby - someone was "working" on this "camera", apparently.

In the background, you could hear a faint shriek of metal slowly rising and then suddenly falling, repeatedly.

"Weren't you... Huff... Working on my sword?"

[gibberish]

"Yeah, OK, call it what you want, for me. Huff.... it's a sword."

[gibberish]

The camera seemed to move. It went blurry, and then, stopped, and the image became clear again. You could see part of the upper torso of a enormously muscular and buxom woman. She leaned down to clear her sweat with a towel, and as she did, you could see that she had a very attractive face, topped with two animal-like ears. On her shoulder, she had the identical IV system that Pampi had on herself.

"Aaaah..." she replied, and seemed to drop the weights. She stretched, and started to play with a rubber ball in her hands.

"She is still asleep, then?"

"Well, she was always so laaa---zy!" and she tossed the ball up, and kicked it with lightning speed with gigantic thighs and calves, causing it to pop upon impact.
