"So, that means all of you have to be alert, do not slack off in any way!"

"Got it!" the five of them respond unanimously.

"All right, if we find anything here we might be able to give some help, send someone your way." You tell him, and then poke Goku on the cheek playfully. "Kiss for luck, monkey boy!"

The two of you share a soft kiss, Goku smiling. "Heh heh, won't let you down, Maple."

As the Kami leaves with the five fighters, your brother walks over to you, hands behind his head. "So sis, a few of us have decided to try out getting some other bits of training in. Might give Konpei a visit. What're you planning on doing?"

For the next few months, you work with Bulma on improving the Gravity Chamber even further, with Dr. Briefs and your brother helping out when they can. While it takes quite a bit of time to complete it, you finally manage to get up to 100x Earth's Gravity. Oooh this is going to be fun.

You also try to figure out a new technique, a quick-firing attack that, while taking a lot of Ki, is exceptionally powerful. It could become a planet buster if you pump enough power into it, but it's probably better to just have it as a quick, powerful trump card. And you master this new skill, faster than you were anticipating. You have the feeling you've practiced something like this before... ah well. Gonna need to think up a name for it, too. Something like... Spirit Star? Eh, maybe.

While you're working on improving the Gravity Chamber, Bulma also mentions that she has a couple new shows. One is a series with five boys fighting against a corrupt regime with lots of political intrigue, while the other is a post-apocalyptic show that she claims is surprisingly upbeat. Also something about the moon? Pantea seems to really like that one, at least.

It's quite an interesting series, even if the antagonists ended up being... kind of lame. The Earth is scorched and cratered by two sides caught up in a desperate, senselessly violent war, nearly killing all of the population... but they manage to bounce back. Protagonist boy sent to rescue a Newtype girl, develops a close and cute romance with her over the series, seeks to protect her and those like her with the captain with a dark and mysterious past. That guy kinda reminded you of Bright, though with shades (heh) of Amuro.

The Gundams are interesting, especially the protagonist's ones. Maybe that shield weapon with the multi-beams, or you could try to mimic the big main weapon. Or... well, hey, maybe it'd be neat to try and see if you could make some sort of "Ki Sword."

A blade of Ki similar to Chi-chi's Power Slicer and Krillin's Destructo Disk, but extending from your hand, keeping a roughly bladelike shape. Once you manage it, you bolt over to your brother and try to show it off... only for him to reveal he'd developed such a skill about two days after Goku left. Damn it.

As the months go on, Izumi's birthday comes and goes, and then your birthday comes along, Trip showing up with Kami and presenting you and Acer with some interesting trinkets: weighted clothes whose weights can be adjusted easily with magic. Might come in handy for training.

After that, Raditz approaches you with Piccolo, Acer and Chi-chi with you as well. The Saiyan man and Namekian have exceptionally serious looks on their faces. And you can tell what that means. "Vegeta and Nappa will be here. I checked on my Scouter; their pods are a few days away. However, this is unexpected; there are three more people with them."

"Three?" Acer repeats. "Wait, the way you said that seems to imply there's something you know about them..."

"That's the thing. I only know of two of them. The last one is a mystery."
