You are a Cave Hydra, big and mighty, but now you face a bit of trouble. The trouble mainly comes from the fact that your way back to your nest to gain the well deserved nap is blocked off by Dwarves, and considering how well armed and coated they are in the shiny rocks, you decide to let it go and walk the longer way.

You walk back, uphill, and you return to the place where you tried to hunt, the connection point of 3 big rivers that connect into one. You ignore the complete plain corpse of the Bat you nibbled on and go through the right most tunnel. The inside of it surprisingly well lit, although very narrow, most of the walking path is taken by the running water.

"The source is too far off, we need to turn into the Dwarf Settlements below and go through there."

"Too dangerous, we can enter the Purple Worm tunnels and head upwards, through the Grick nest."

Your right and left suggest respectively, you could also take the safest but most exhausting road, digging through.

>"Purple Worm lies in slumber, we can go through its tunnels and Gricks are too afraid of us to bother us most likely."
>"Dwarf Nests are better choice."
>"We're digging through."

"Purple Worm lies in slumber, we can go through its tunnels and Gricks are too afraid of us to bother us most likely."

"This is bad idea."

"It is not a bad idea."

And so your heads begin discussing their reasons, which you care little for, you know that you have to be rather careful as to how you step, because if Purple Worm is not sleeping anymore, or nature forbid, wake it up, you are more than doomed.

You keep walking in a rather slow strut, conserving your energy for when you need it the most. The tunnel thankfully widens with distance, and eventually you get the opportunity to walk into the tunnel which leads into the maze that is the Purple Worm's carvings, which you boldly enter. The road itself is the widest one could walk on, you can easily fit 5, if not more of you in here without hassle.
The rocks are bare most of the time, but ever so often the mushrooms bloom quite heavily in a softer soil, you can only guess that it's because of the Worm's road leftovers that act as a fertilizer. Nevertheless, you keep going, following the faint trails of smell you know, but just to shove a giant wall in front of you, the trails cut off at a split.

Left or right? Both dark, one beginning with escalation while the other starts to fall off more sharply.

"We're below our nest, we go right."

"No, we go left, The Worm is not sleeping at the very bottom, it can be anywhere."

>Left.
>Right.

Ignoring another argumentation about which you is right, you move your body to the right tunnel and began going up.

However, you soon find yourself in need to outright climb as it keeps getting more steep, but all in all, you managed to scale it without problems. Going forward undeterred, you slowly start to spot the weird shape of the tunnel. It sharply twists ahead, basically making a < shaped turn which you jump down onto, this also makes you wonder if you didn't make a mistake in choosing, but further walk into the darkness, ever so often broken by the patches of glowing shrooms easies you, because you start to smell the Grick nests.

Not being eaten alive feels very good to you as you begin to make your way through the hostile territory, however, this thought changes into something vastly different. Sudden sharp pain on your back makes you wonder what happened, and then you spot it, the Grick. Or rather, very oversized Grick which digs its way through your flesh after dropping unnoticed by you from the ceiling.

You wail in pain and shake around, wanting to drop it from your back but to no avail, its beak and tentacles harshly dig into your hide even further, and to top it off, it wraps its long body around your waist, trying to additionally crush you.

You reel back in pain, yelling sharply as you feel your blood leaking out of your wounds, however, you don't let it paralyze you and soon enough, you began to walk around, thrashing your body wildly everywhere.

In a hurry, your left side leans to the left, trying to bite it, but it falls short just a bit, so you take the matter into your own jaw, so does the right side. Bending over with a growl, your teeth connect right at the back of its head while your right grabs it lower down the body. Now it's time to set yourself free from it, so you yank, which makes you shriek in pain and make the Grick muffle out a whine as well.

You yank again, and with the sickening sound of flesh being ripped and torn apart, both you and your right manages to get him out of the grasp. Now it's time to retaliate.

You yank again, forcing your right head to let go while you make a running sideways charge and then you slam the oversized Grick's body into the nearby object which happens to be a mushroom. With a satisfying sound of the fungus giving way from the crash, you wind up your neck and slam downwards, shaking the ground with the impact, your opponent shrieking in pain as it tries to wriggle out.

You circle around with your head two times, gaining speed before letting go of it and send it flying to the other end of the tunnel, making it roll around before curling up in pain. It slowly stands up, facing you with its beak and now you get to see a good look at it. It's twice the size of a normal Grick, it would be an alpha, but you can spot that even that would be too small. A dire on top of that, and it felt ballsy enough to attack you. Still does in fact, because it refuses to back down from the challenge it started in its kin territory.

You will not stand still and let him control the flow of the battle, even with a rather nasty wound on your back, the sooner this ends the better for you.

You charge, roaring and thrashing about wildly with your necks, imposing a big, frightful presence in order to make the Grick much more defensive. This doesn't seem to work as you desired however, because if anything, your opponent seems that much more agitated and willing to fight, not that it matters.

You make a lounge, arcing through the air with your foremost legs in front, right onto the Dire Alpha creature, it however avoids your attack by quickly turning into a spring and jumping underneath you, leaving only dust for you to jump on. With a crash, you land and quickly turn your heads around,, sadly not in time because you feel sharp pain on your chubby tail, he probably hooked onto it.

You thrash wildly and sway your hips to the side before realizing that you can't hit the wall because you are too far away from it. So you hump with your hips to slam it to the ground again. But it seems to realize how dangerous prolonged grasp is, so it lets you free, crawling away to gain distance, but quickly turning around to face you again. Returning to square zero again.

>Keep at it, longer you fight here the worse for you.

Time to switch tactics around, instead of coming to it, you will let the Grick come to you.

You begin to circle around your opponent, your heads hissing ever so often during the stare off, this gesture is returned with hisses as well as the Beak worm either slithers or crawls around you. This standoff lasts for a while until the Grick realizes that it's not going anywhere, so it seizes the initiative by loading up like a spring and making a jump, straight at the bases of your necks.

You side step, finding yourself too slow to swipe it mid air, letting it crash onto the ground with a shriek while you move to a more beneficial position, this helps you avoid direct contact with the hook or claws at the end of tentacles, but yet again you are pushed away instead of being granted an opportunity to attack. As another swipe comes for your body, you dodge to the side again, but this time step forward, trying to hurt the Grick.

This was avery good decision, because your right leg slams down onto the body of the Grick, pinning it down, forcing it to yell in pain before lashing back onto you. In order to avoid damage, you keep moving forward with your massive body and step over its body, crushing the meat down and forcing the Grick to vomit whatever happened to be in its stomach before curling away from you to reset its disadvantageous position. The damage seemed heavy, but either its stubbornness, tenacity or toughness itself keeps it going as if very little pain was given to it.

This is about the most amount of time and energy you're willing to devote to this fight, so it is time for you to finally end this.

You both begin to circle around yet again, you stomping your way sideway, your opponent slithering the other way, but this time, it's much shorter, both in the duration and distance between you and the Grick. In few moments, you both attack, meeting in the center of the circle you were making.

Your right head strikes from bottom right, lunging to the other side upwards, this strike is promptly avoided and a counterattack was made, you yourself however react in an blink of an eye and lunge the opposite direction in correlation to your right head; from top left to bottom right. This makes you clash with the Alpha Dire creature, beak to maw, and while the tentacles would be dangerous, the Grick sharply yells in pain as its lifted from the ground by the third head that dug its teeth deep into the worm's body.

In the air, you finish this fight spectacularly, your right head grabbing the end of the tail and tugging to the side, your left side doing this same, stretching your opponent and slowly tearing him apart. However, you don't wait for that to happen and you lunge at the center of its body, your teeth acting more like cutting knives than anything else and tear through the stretched flesh alive. Tearing first te skin, then muscle, then the organs, only to vice versa thee order through the other side in a gory and messy bath of blood and ripped chunks of body. Grick's final sounds being agonizing moans of death slowly taking its life.
(cont.)

>>44940642

You won this fight, but you still have to move, you are in the general territory of this species. So you waste no time, and order yourself to keep those bits of this Grick in their mouths, showing it off as a trophy and a warning to not mess with you.

Eventually, your walk is at the end, what seemed to be hours endless moving around paid off and you soon entered into the Glowing Forest, and from here you stomped to your nest, dropping the enormous trophy in a pile in a corner before laying down to sleep.

"Wake up. We're hungry."

You are once again welcomed by these same words, and once again your morning routine is redone. you have recuperated most of your strength over the sleep which seemed like it took more than 8 hours.

How fast our wounds heal, and what is limit of our regenation if we are not talking about heads?
Can we survive some damage to internal organs or losing an leg or tail.
>>
>>44940768
The hide/skin itself takes a while to heal up, but your wounds is covered up with a liquid that hardens, so you are generally good to go after a nap unless you're severely fucked, such as wounds you mentioned.

For lost limbs, you generally want to run off with them, they don't really grow back like heads do, but sticking them back and staying still for a long while reconnects your lost limb.
