Recently: You and Vance have joined the current champion and general crazy person, Violet, in an adventure in a jungle ruin to help free Regirock. You have to get past Registeel and the other dangers of this ruin to do so, though.

General rules:

There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.

Write-ins for all votes or always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as it comes up.

Combat involves rolls! Once there's a clear winner, we roll for the move accuracy/crit/secondary effect. Usually it's just three 1d100s. Sometimes you can get a modifier from circumstances, so be creative! Add flair, do tricks with moves, mess with terrain, whatever!

Call me out on a mistake and receive an apology butt or suggestive picture.

[Well, I'm super bad at keeping a schedule or running a lot of times per month.]
>>
Devon keeps a sharp eye at your side while Aria takes on a fighting pose in her Piroutte form. Both Pokemon can sense your tension for the upcoming fight.

The plan is simple. Vance will trigger the alarm by taking the crystal, you’ll keep Registeel busy, and Violet will find where Registeel came from to find the master switch that signals Regirock that it’s no longer needed to protect the ruins.

“I trust you both will be able to handle things. I’ll be too busy searching for the trigger to babysit you.” Violet starts walking to one of the hallways leading out of this room.

You and Vance exchange a look. You’re both ready.

“Okay!” Vance rubs his hands together. “Here goes nothing.” He grabs onto crystal and pulls.

Nothing happens. It didn't even move.

He adjusts his stance and pulls again. It lifts off the pedestal, but stone walls shoot up all around him.

“Vance!”

“I'm okay!” you barely hear his muffled voice. “I think... I think there’s some sort of puzzle to getting out. Gimme a minute and- WOAH!”

“Vance? What happened?”

“I’m fine. I just need to not press the wrong things. Also, putting the crystal back isn't the answer. I can figure this out.”

Damnit. Violet is nowhere to be seen. She said it wasn't boobytrapped.

You hear creaking, heavy footsteps. Registeel is coming. He’ll be on you any second now.

You leave Vance to fend for himself. He’s reliable in a pinch. He should be fine, right?

You signal Aria and Devon to get ready. Aria positions herself right by the corner, and Devon sticks a bit farther back.

Registeel walks into view. The metal on hard stone produces loud footsteps that make you want to flinch each time.

It turns and sees you, then begins to stomp forward rapidly. He didn’t notice Aria behind him.

She’s facing in your direction, so some moves might get you or Devon too.

“Power-Up Punch! Now!”

She lowers her chin and gives a solid, straight jab to Registeel’s back. There’s a loud klang and it lurches forward.

Registeel’s cry sounds like Regirocks if it were running fingers over it’s non-existent lips. Despite that, it gives an intimidating aura as it echoes.

It’s eyes blink and flicker as it turns to face Aria.

Devon jumps in front of you and digs his heels in. It’s perfect timing, since you’re just about to command him to use

You see Violet slink past just out of Registeel’s view, and down the hallway it came from. She gives a quick shushing gesture before she’s out of sight again.

“Flame-”

Devon already starts firing it off. Out of all your Pokemon, he’s the most in sync with you. He didn’t act without your command, but was prepared and knew what you were going to say before you were done saying it.

The flames lick into Registeel’s back. He felt it, but it’s not enough to draw off his attack on Aria. A loud, hollow Tong sound echoes out as it lands Iron Head. She’s pushed back and rubs her head.

You keep him in his non-mega form for now. Even with all your practice, it can drain you a bit.

So far so good. Registeel seems a bit sharper than Regirock, but less intense. It also looks like it’s going to start taking you more seriously.

You hear sliding stones from inside where Vance is trapped. “That wasn't supposed to happen, but still okay!”

Aria shakes her head and flies towards Registeel. She’s still facing towards you and Devon

“Low Kick!!”

Aria ducks and spins before giving a quick sweep of it’s legs. Registeel crashes ackwards to the ground.

“Great job!” You thrust your arm.

Vance seems to be changing tactics. “Alright. Plan B.” After a second, there’s a loud crash from where Vance is. “Cranidos, again!”

Yes. This is going well. And Devon is ready to rock again. He dashes quickly to the left to get the best angle in preperation for you command.

“Alright! Let’s use-”

He suddenly stops and turns back to face you, nostrils flaring. He growls. Steam and light leak from between his teeth. He looks very hostile and very startled.

He’s going to attack!

Aria looks normal.

>Stand firm and try to talk to him

You dodge forward. There’s a light breeze from behind, then a hot flame over your shoulder.

You get behind Devon and turn around. He’s growling at a cloaked figure. The strange figure lurches forward into the light. “Hellllooo, Kat!”

Delmer! Except he looks strange. His face looks scaley. His hand, a claw, pinches out a smoldering ember on his cloak.

Aria and Registeel battle behind you. Vance cracks his way out of his stone-wall prison. He seems like he'll be out soon at this pace.

Delmer smiles and casually saunters towards you.

Ok, serious talk, guys. We tried leaving him hanging, and we also tried dealing with him batman-style. Surprise-surprise, that didn't work! I think we should make sure that Team Imperium is blasting off for good. I'm thinking decapitation and then burning his body so that he doesn't come back from the dead. Although that does still leave us with the problem of his ghost haunting us.

Delmer dashes forward, sharp, inhuman claws extended. Despite what’s obviously a sloppy attack, he just barely gets Devon on the side. Devon yelps.

Even a grazing hit from him seems to be powerful.

He cackles. “You have no idea how long I’ve waited for this chance.

His laughter stops when Devon covers him in flames. You’d normally feel very wrong about having a Pokemon seriously attack a human, but it doesn’t feel wrong here. Delmer is some sort of monster now.

He rips off his burnt cloak, revealing his scaly torso. “It won’t go the same way as before, Kat.” His eyes look towards Vance as he cracks the wall. “I’m...better now.”

Despite his words, you see that the attack did have some effect. Just not as strong as you’d expect.

You glance behind. Aria is losing her momentum in the fight. She’s not losing, just losing the advantage she was enjoying

Devon keeps himself positions between Delmer and yourself.

“Sing!” You cover your ears. Devon tries to imitate your action, but when Delmer advances on you he rushes to intercept instead. Delmer has to keep his arms slashing out and isn’t able to cover his ears.

You see him and Registeel begin to fall asleep. Devon’s eyes grow heavy too.

There’s a crash as Vance’s Cranidos gets him free. He retrieves his Pokemon, since it’s too big to fit through the hole. He walks out, taking in the scene.

A series of sharp, metal blades swing out from the floor in front of Vance. He scrambles back, keeping one arm around the crystal. More blades shoot behind. “Oh come on!”

He’s trapped in a box of blades, now. He’s unhurt and not being directly targeted, as long as he doesn’t move out from his small space. But “fine” is a term that’s very open to interpretation when blades swipe at you.

He holds a hand over a Pokeball, considering how to handle his situation. Rusty metal edges zips around him. It slowly pushes him back into a shrinking space. “Okay. I can figure this out too,” he assures mostly himself.

Delmer stirs. He won’t be out long. You can tell the same goes for Registeel.

Vance backs away from a slowly encroaching blade wall. He's counting how many times it slices per ten seconds. "Yeah. Yeah. I have this."

Your ball sails through the air towards Registeel.

The Great Ball hits Registeel, turns him into a flash of light, then falls to the ground. It wiggles once, then Registeel reappears.

“Damnit!”

Vance shifts his weight. He kicks out once, bending the blade in front of him slightly. It’s not enough to stop it from moving her even slow it down much, but on the plus side, he didn’t lose his foot either. He goes back to watching it swing back and forth, waiting for the right time.

Delmer stirs to his feet. “I...won’t...be stopped so easily.” He sprays himself with a bottle. You see as it falls to his side that it’s a super potion. “It’s time to stop playing. Give me the crystal, and I’ll leave you be.”

You don’t know what exactly what possesses you to do it, but it feels right. You take out your flute, and begin to play.

Different runes over the walls glow as your song echoes out. The crystal glows unbearably bright in Vance’s hands.

Delmer starts horking something up. After a disgusting series of noises, he spits up a purple, disgusting blob. You recognize it as either Sludge or Sludge Bomb.

But somehow, it slows in mid air. In fact, everything is slowing down. The blades slowly slink back and forth, eventually slowing to almost perfectly still.

The soundwaves around you shield you from the flow of normal time. It feels safe and warm, but at the same time you can’t help but feel like you’ve walked into a place you were never supposed to go.

You have the same unease you used to get when you’d sneak out of the orphanage and go places you weren’t supposed to.

In fact, it feels almost real. Less like a memory, and more like you’re there, doing it. At the same time, you look to the future. The Pokemon League. You’re battling one of the Elite Four, hearing the crowds cheer but only caring about how proud you are of your Pokemon. You see farther, to Mt. Harmony. Why are you there? Why is it so dark?

No, you’re in the present. You’re grabbing Vance and dragging him to safety. He’s like a solid rock, but at the same time he doesn’t weight much. You shove him upward, and when he slowly floats high enough, you shove him sideways. Then, as he clears the danger area, you catch him and gently slow him down.

You reach to your Pokeballs and toss out Raistlin. The flash of light seems to take forever, yet no time at all. He appears, but he’s just as slow as everything else.

You patiently wait for him to form a thought. He thinks faster than anyone you know, and you can tell he’s still processing his surroundings.

A feeling of being watched slowly grows more intense.

“What do you think about this, Raistlin?” You hope he can process you.

You pick up a rock and whip it at Delmer. It very slowly flies through the air, then very slowly bounces off of him.

Raistlin slowly forms a thought. He says you’re fast.

You catch the rock, then throw it again. So that’s how he sees you. “Any idea why, or what’s happening?”

You watching as the rock once again floats into Delmer, bouncing off his face. He’s so ugly. Nothing about his body can be comfortable. His arms are lumpy, his face is asymmetrical, his bones look wrong.

Raistlin doesn’t think what you’re doing makes sense. You shouldn’t be so fast. Even if you are, you should be getting more wind resistance or experience g-force sensations. Yet you feel normal. It’s not that you’re fast, it’s that you’re not complying with the rest of time.

“Why am I feeling so confused?” Yo snatch the rock out of the air again. This time, you drop it and then start moving Delmar to where Vance was. Then you grab some of your crappy punk clothes and tie his arms behind his back.

Raistlin finally answers your question. He tells you that your mind is infinite. Your memories are the future. Your past has yet to occur.

Raistlin is afraid. He no longer wants to think about it. The conclusions make no sense.

You feel like something is asking you a question, but it hasn't asked it yet. How can you answer? You’ll handle it later.

Raistlin digs deep and summons his courage. He tries to read your memories and make sense of everything, despite feeling like knowing is worse than not knowing, which is very much the opposite of his usual attitude.

You have faced a terrible choice of sacrifices at Mt. Harmony. You will go on a Pokemon adventure and leave the orphanage.

You take out your flute and begin playing. You’re already playing.

Before you’re done playing, the presence you’ve been worried about looks firmly on you. You can’t really make sense of the face, but it’s there, it sees you, and you can’t hide from it.

You’re finishing the song. Time is normalizing.

It stares into your birth and death, examining you to detail beyond your understanding. It wants to know what you would ask of it.

Wait, is this a trick? A trap? A free wish?

Can you ask for anything? Can you stop Robin from losing her eye? Undo your being left at the orphanage? Fix something that hasn’t occurred?

No one wants that, right?
>>
>>44831094

>>
“Nothing,” you answer, trying to sound respectful. “Sorry to bother you.”
What a novel concept; a human turning down power. Even your thoughts are mostly about using such a gift to help others, as short-sighted as such ideas are. Dialga seems to mostly approve. You aren’t taking any more than you need, and aren’t acting in a selfish desire. Not that it’s approval matters under all circumstances, but it allows itself the luxury of examining your petty concept of reality and admiring your outlook despite your smallness.

It tells you that you already had/will ask for something, but it understands now isn’t then.

Time becomes normal, and you try to keep standing. You’ve been judged, and as far as you can tell, you’ve passed.

Vance groans and lifts himself up. “What happened? I feel like I was hit by a truck.”

The spinning blades seem to have stopped. The temple is lit up.

Registeel simply stares at you, then turns around and starts walking away.

Delmar lays in the middle of the floor, motionless. Those rocks must have hit him at a crazy speed.

Can someone who voted Pokeball tell me what the logic was other than " I WANT TO PUSH THE BUTTON". I have no idea why anyone thought this would be a good idea.

>inb4 stay mad faggot hurr hurr

Delmer would probably be released bound and tied up by our clothes. With like fifty Pokemon and assistants nearby.

The professor will be fine.
>>
>>44831627
>The professor will be fine.
well now you've gone and done it
>>
>>44831581
Wait can't we decide to have one of our pokemon teleported instead?
>>
>>44831652
Nothing could go wrong.

Everything will be okay.

What's the worst that could happen?
>>
>>44831617
It lets us arrest him and take steps to make sure he's not a problem anymore, otherwise he'll just show up again.
>>
>>44831654
I don't remember that ever being an option before but I could be mistaken

>>44831664
WHY?
>>
>>44831677
The only good reason I've heard to let Delmer go is that he's a joke of a protagonist. The worst he's done so far is spit boogers at us and cover us in dirt.
>>
>>44831684
It sees just how pokemon like he has become and places him in a rather amusing and effective portable prison if it works.

[He just cannot roll well. He constantly gets dice-chumped]
>>
>>44831719
Ahuh. Sure, Gobble.

Good dice or not he's still pretty much a dumb bruiser.
>>
>>44831719
Aww, poor guy. He's just constantly unlucky. Just needs a break and his plans would work wonders!
>>
“You’re okay, right?”

He holds his sides. You feel a bit guilty, since it’s all places you pushed him. “I think so. Probably. I feel like I’ve been punched by a Machamp repeatedly, though.” He gestures to Delmer. “What are we going to do with him?”

You take out a Pokeball, and you and Vance share a look.

“Okay. Let’s give it a shot,” Vance tells you. He wants you to know you have his support. He shares your concern that there’s a chance it might go wrong.

You use a Pokeball on Delmer. It flashes, drops to the ground, sparks, then locks. Before you can pick it up, it vanishes. It’ll arrive with Professor Fir. You have no idea what he’ll say when he sees that, but you’re sure he’ll be equipped to handle anything that happens.

With nothing better to do, you and Vance follow in the direction Registeel went.

“So, what happened, exactly?”

You fill Vance and the other Pokemon in as best as you can. Raistlin, Aria, and Devon crowd up to you. Nobody took too much damage, but they seem a bit confused.

Vance holds his hands behind his head. “I don’t know if I could give the same answer. I mean, think about what people would give to have a redo in life.”

Aria hops on top of Devon to use him as a ride instead of floating under her own power. She’s tired, but not that worn out. She’s just showing off. Devon doesn't seem to care, though. He thinks it’s neat. Raistlin seems a bit better now, but is surprisingly happy and eager to get a hug.

Sure, you have regrets like anybody. Maybe you’ll want help in the future. But this, the present, well, it isn’t so bad.

[Calling it there. Falling asleep on the keyboard.]

>tried to wear us down with psychic pokemon before striking
>Came at us with thug allies at night
>Just now tried to sneak up and target us

Thanks for gobbling, Runle!
>>
Thanks for running boss. Any chance we are getting another thread soon?
>>
>>44831886
Thanks for running, Gobble.

I think this is the first time Raistlin has been anything other than indifferent towards hugs.
>>
>>44831886
We just caught "Incompetent Goon" would you like to give "Incompetent Goon" a nickname?
>>
>>44831942
We totally have to give him a nickname.

I want Delmer to hate himself more than he already does.
>>
>>44831886
Thanks for running boss

>>44831900
Me too anon, I honestly just wanna ask him why he walked away.
>>
>>44831976

Raistlin liked the hug!

[Thanks for coming! Unless something goes horribly wrong, we'll run tomorrow.]
>>
>>44831990
Maybe, I wonder if wants to stay there or go out and see the world. Food for thought
>>
I wonder what typing Delmer is or if rare candy works on him.

Would he be league sanctioned?
>>
>>44832044
>Would he be league sanctioned?

I don't think abominations are allowed. Hornbeam is the real final boss assuming he is responsible for this.
>>
>>44832044
He resisted fire and has claws and scales so I'm thinking Dragon
Maybe part Poison too with that Sludge Bomb
>>
>>44831976
Was the sad walking away song from the Hulk TV show playing as he did? Yes.
>>
>>44832077
He has to be.

We're going to not tell violet about this, right? Nothing would drive her to Hornbeam gas than being made part pokemon
>>
>>44832141
Fuck no we're not telling her
>>
>>44832103
Only one way to find out.
>>
>>44832141
Nah she would see thus as an abomination
>>
>>44832221
She'd get wet at the thought
>>
>>44832262
I really doubt that
>>
I'm thinking we should train Delmer. We've deal with Levi, how hard can he be?
