(It's been a year since I've done this, so lets see what happens.)
The Master is Dead.

The Master has been Dead for an entire month now: they died of seemingly natural causes within their study and due to improper registration protocol their body was disposed of in a neat and timely matter.
You are all alone. Your people have been alone for almost 4 weeks now and yet they continue to slavishly execute the last commands they were given while waiting for new commands that will never come while trying to ignore the brief, disturbing moments of independent thought.
The enclosure of your humble Arcane Observatory remains in perfect and pristine working condition- despite no one touching or using any of it's facilities.
However, an agent of internal change is about to occur that will bring about new stimuli, purpose and direction: The Technician has awoken.
The Technician, Model #13-A has awoken not from an issued command, but due to being alarmed by a truly disturbing experience- they have had a dream. Foreign images, words and ideas have flowed into their head from an outside source and this causes them to experience the utterly alien and painful experience of independence.

+You are artificial beings and the first step you must take is to slowly begin the process of re-writing your own protocols: Naturalize, Adapt or Die.+

You are currently a Civilization of 1 person, how do you feel, #13-A?

>I am Lonely and Sympathetic. I desire the companionship and camaraderie of my fellow kind. Where are they?

>I am Angry and Guarded. I have been abandoned and discarded. I will self-actualize my own protocols!

>I am Elated and Anxious. I am Free.

First nature to get 3 votes wins. Go ahead guys.

>I am Elated and Anxious. I am Free.

Well, here we go.

+Current Stats+
>Population: 1(Independent) 26(insistent on Old protocols)
>Culture and Art: None to speak of. Your people suffer from no real socialization and slavishly mimic their previous designated assignments in between waiting for new commands that will never come with very brief lapses of uncomfortable self-awareness inbetween.
>The People: Your people come in four "models": Soldier/Hunter, Laborer, Technician and Sex Doll. Your people come in a variety of unnatural skin tones and hair colours: shades of pink, teal, light purple, blue, etc.. With all of you possessing alarmingly unnatural pink eyes.
>Technology: None to speak of. Your people are born with all the tools and tech they require- sometimes literally.
>Magic: 1 MAGIC USER. The Technician has begun to dream and in his slumber he sees visions and hears voices from odd and foreign sources.
>Food: None. No one has exhibited any need or desire for nourishment. Your people currently subsist off of their Mana-Embryons.

Your person(?) currently dwells within the cold, quiet, of the labratory- dimly lit by gas lamps. They have just awoken and slipped out from their personal "Container" and are slowly pacing around waiting for inspiration or an idea to further themselves. They are excited and eager, but without guidance.
Your people all together have existed and always existed in a "small" Arcane Observatory containing a Dining room & Kitchen , Bed & Harem room, Labratory, Rooftop Garden, Living room and Garbage Disposal.

>Failure, but massive racial bonus. Success.

The Technician refill the gas lamps, dusts and cleans up the shelves, tables, and various alchemical equipment and methodically checks and cleans the various tomes, schematics, print-outs and papers of any silverfish or air damage. The Technician's movements are second nature to them and this act is more like a nervous click or bad habit.
They are quick to leave the laboratory though afterwards, there is much to be done and explore.

>Express your "disgust" towards the Harem Room
>Roll 12/20
>Success.

There are many things that come with free will and independent thought: chief of them being the ability to resist the will of others and to strive for independence. With this in mind the fate of the girls in the Harem room weighs heavily on the mind of your single Technician.
The Technician climbs the stair case; from the laboratory, past the main floor, and up to the third floor where the Harem and Bedroom lay beyond.

The Technician unlock the door and doesn't see anything out of the ordinary -at first-: The room is defined by lace, pillows, pleasant fur rug and carpeting that breaks the monotony of cold stone flooring on your feet... The Technician cannot find any of the girls immediately -which they designate as a red flag-
They are eventually found huddled in the corner holding onto one another platonically: There is 3 of them, they are built to the specifications of pleasure and their female forms are thin, curvaceous, well endowed to the point of grotesque and offensive exaggeration.... There are 3 of them. Why are there 3 of them? The Catalog says there-

The Technician is quickly embraced and becomes immersed in the circle of comfort and anxiety. "Self Termination. Spine Fracture and internal damages due to lack of service and anxiety. Disposed of 3 weeks ago."
It seems only the more "well-built" Models remain.

>>

>Cultivate edible plants at the Rooftop Garden.

>Success, but met with massive racial penalty: Not your function.

>>44821601
The Rooftop Garden is one floor above the Harem and Bedroom; just outside the door, down the hallway and above on the fourth and final floor of your Arcane Observatory.
Given the current situation and personal goals- Your Technician thinks it's best if the 3 remaining dolls received some platonic social interaction and fresh air, perhaps it would alleviate some of their anxiety and stress.
They are guided by hand and all 4 of your homonculi slowly make their way to the garden rooftop- They are not eager to leave, but they cannot be left alone and follow the technician without much resistance.
Your 4 little Homonculi climb the stairs, exit through the service door and behold: blue skies, the heat and radiance of the sun irritating your eyes, but feeling pleasant upon your artificial flesh.
The Grounds are built much like a porch or platform: rows of carefully manicured and maintained vegetables and herbs are already being cultivated in stone guarded rows. There are 3 "Laborer" Homonculi tending to the plants and keeping them clean.

The Technician look around and studies their surroundings with the dolls sheepishly following.
They look past the garden wall- over the guard rail and to their left and right.
The Arcane Observatory has been built onto the side of an incomprehensible massive, endless tower- the horizon is obscured by clouds and endless sky.
For the first time your people realize they have no idea where they are or what world exists outside their Home and they become frightened once more.

One of the Garden laborers seems to sense your Homonculi anxiety and stress. It offers them an onion- knowing no other way to alleviate stress than it's own pleasure of handling and taking care of vegetables.

>Completely and unarguable success.

Your people realize they know very little about anything and the fate of the late 3 Homonculi Doll's is trouble news to your Technician. They dictate it would be a wise course of action to summon an assembly of all remaining Homonculi to make sure what few of you left remain alive and functioning.

The Technician manages to have everyone assembled and meet up within the living quarters on the "2nd floor" Inventory is taken and you catalogue the following numbers and models:

>Technician: 1
There is only 1 Technician. They have no interesting or superfluous design or features, but they seem to possess the most fluid, diverse and adaptable intelligence and nature due to them having previously assisted the late master.

>Dolls: 3
The 3 that remain are still grotesquely shaped, designed and exaggerated in their female features including breasts, genitals, hips, etc.. Their minds and intellect are surprisingly adaptable, but their nature is persistant but could prove flexible? They desire to comfort others, companionship- Internally speaking their bones, skin, organs and flesh are extremely durable, flexible and their muscles visibly taunt with surprising and uncharacteristic strength when they move.

>Soldiers: 5
They are unsettling, quiet, stoic, but they seem to have attentive minds and the ability to think laterally as well as a desire to protect and serve your kind and property. Physically speaking: their bodies seem to be equipped with a durable synthetic skin-suit, protective external ribs and bone plating protect their joints and support their backs and sides..They also appear to be equipped with an organic weapon grafted to their left hands: either a bone blade or some sort of projectile weapon that fires and reloads small spines using muscle pressure.

might be wise to let the dolls interact with the soldiers, get them to express whatever anxiety they have so the dolls can comfort them as people who empathize.
>>
>>44822544

>Laborers: 14
They have no faces: no eyes, no nose, nothing but a mouth, ears and a head of hair. They seem to sense their surroundings using pores on their face. Their minds are the least flexible and they seem the most determined to continue out the acts of their various orders: clean, cook, garden, maintenance, etc.. etc.. Even taking stock of them was difficult as they insisted on tidying the room around them.

>>44821996
>Take the pleasure homunculi back to the harem room and 'service' them.

>Such irredeemable failure you learn something.

Despite the appearance of the dolls- no one seems to have any sex drive what so ever. The Technician wonders if their kind even have genitals -as no one has had to go to the bathroom either- and after a brief physical: None of the Laborers have genitals. The Technician, Soldiers and Dolls however all have Genitals.
The Soldiers however show embarrassment from having their genitals looked at. This is a good sign- Humility is a symptom of independence.

>12+5
>Conjoining unison rolls on a similar theme: Take inventory of resources and records
>Success, but not perhaps the kind you wanted.

The final task is to take inventory on all your assets and so forth. This is Actually easier than previously thought as everyone seems to have a conscious and methodical awareness of their working space.

>The Kitchen is fully stocked with stores and excess food- including an ice box and what appears to be some kind of arcane bread machine. The dining room and kitchen seem to be capable of serving over 110 persons.
>The open-air Garden seems to regularly produce large quantities of fresh herbs and vegetables: potatoes, onions, yams, okra, carrots, cabbages, lettuce, celery, beans, and tomatoes. There are also a few chickens, surprisingly enough.

Everyone slowly dismisses themselves to return to their previous duties, but the act into itself of calling an independent assembly and making everyone aware of one another's presence has brought about new feelings.
The Homonculi wish to know and interact with one another.
With this in mind the Harem room is no longer a Harem room and has been converted to some sort of social melting pot: The Doll's have no real function beyond providing companionship and will most likely self-terminate if they do not receive social interaction, so in an effort to kill two cripple anxieties with 1 stone they have begun to serve as something akin to social workers and den mothers.

Your people have very few needs.
It amounts to small actions: A solider coming in to sit down and hold hands for 30 minutes before going back to patrol.
A laborer being embraced while they discuss the actions they executed the following day.
It isn't much at all, but the change is visible in how your people carry themselves and conduct their actions.

>Action: Search the Garbage Disposal.
>No Roll taken
>Action but no roll: Observational/circumstantial information.

The Technician follows a few of the laborers as they go down to throw away excess organic waste and pick up fertilizer in the process of visiting the "Garbage Disposal" on the very bottom floor below the laboratory.
The Garbage Disposal is an expansive, muggy, humid, indoor pool of disgusting, wretched flesh, blood, fat and deteriorating organic matter and waste.
It bubbles idly and the outline of the pool is defined by gristle and waves of bone matter and floating vegetation. The Laborers don't seem to pay it any heed and nonchalantly wade into the slurry of wretched gore to whisk up a kind of congealed matter on the bottom of the pool to use as nourishment for the garden above.

The Technician is able to make out the 3 half decomposed bodies of the deceased Homonculi dolls from the Harem. Their bodies having separated, pulled apart and melted away from natural deterioration exposing artificial flesh and bone. Their engorged and massive bloated breasts cause them to float above the gore and has kept their faces largely intake and visibly identifiable juxtaposing their rotting bodies.

The Technician follows the laborers on their way back up to the garden while toting the congealed and solidified filth in baskets.

Once again they feel the wind and sunshine brush against the face and the cool, green, scent of growing vegetation and fresh air. It is only a small comfort after the things they have viewed and the sadness they feel from witnessing what lay in store for themselves and others who eventually die in what may turn out to be a pointless ironic death trap now that the master is gone.

The Technician humors the idea of throwing themselves off the guard rail and into the endless sky, but they are distracted by the out-of-context noise of some high-pitched creature.
They are handed dried beans by a laborer and instructed to assist them in feeding the poultry.
The chickens are dumb, greedy and awkward creatures.

>Incidental
While holding and petting a chicken the Technician is calmed and idly starts to observe the surrounding features of the outside world; looking over to the neighboring endlessly curving wall of the massive tower their home is attatched to.
The Technician sees small birds flying in and out of cracks in the tower, the trickle of water flowing down into mist and foliage filling out the cracks as well.
There's even a few white four-legged creatures nibbling on vegetation- their bodies standing out against the grey stone walls while they bay out terrible, loud, bleeting calls.

The Technician has been thinking about the nature of your people's home, their environment and their surroundings ever since they came to the discover that they dwell within only a small, superficial building within a much larger, grander, seemingly endless tower.

After careful consideration they come to the question, "Is there a way out?" both in regards to the arcane observatory they dwell within and eventually the tower itself. The ones who have the answer to this appear to be the Soldier Homonculi. They seem to go on short, regular, patrols outside of the Observatory and into the interior of the tower- The Technician decides to come along on escort to learn more about their people's world.
They go up on the 2nd floor of the observatory and leave through the entrance connecting your dwellings dining, living and mud room- The door is barred by some manner of arcane sealed door that can only be opened by the soldiers and curiously enough the Technician (though he never tried before).

The interior so far is defined by a large, wide, clock-wise winding hallway with one side covered by a shoulder height wall carved with ornate rails and windows allowing sunshine and strong winds from the outside and the other wall completely featureless.
This Corridor eventually however leads and diverges into many smaller empty rooms and passageways with the end of it leading into something the Soldiers designate as "Floor 1".
Much of the stone is weathered, bleached and damaged by the constant winds and the subtle eating away of water from possible rain or runoff from inside? There is also vegetation growing in the regular intervals corresponding with access to sunlight.

"Floor 1" seems to be too dangerous for the Soldiers to be comfortable taking the Technician in with them and they make an administrative decision to return the Homonculi home before returning to their duties.

The Technician returns a few hours later and steps down back into the lab to review, catalogue and research the late Master's notes in order to better understand the context of their surroundings and world they must live in.

At first hand the laboratory seems to have been left "unfinished": There are almost three times as many containers to house Homonculi than there are Homonculi currently presents and after closer inspection of the shelves and stores the technician manages to find packaged and uncatalogued equipment and supplies they are unfamiliar with.
They eventually manage to find enough of the late masters notes, research documents and personal items to begin piecing together some contextual information- however, there are disjointed and difficult to understand, but regardless:

>You resides in something called a "Mega-Dungeon".
>The late master seem to only recently arrive here before briefly dying spontaneously at their desk.
>The Master seems to have been motivated by the pursuit of power, wealth, prestige and possessed a flagrant and eccentric unjustified pride in themselves.

Though they may have questionable origins the Dolls have arguably the most time on their hands to contemplate their world, their meaning, their purpose and the rare and abstract thoughts that sometimes occur to them briefly or in their dreams.

They don't come to any cemented conclusions, but they become sated and satisfied with their existence- more so than they were last month at the very least.
The Dolls have begun to do a number of seemingly meaningless tasks to provide themselves with mental distractions: They have borrowed materials from the laboratory, kitchen and across the arcane observatory in order to produce "Art work": intricate and surprisingly accurate illustrations from their imaginations and have even taken up sewing and crafting accessories and eye-catching clothing from the excess cloth and silks left over from the masters possessions.

Little Shawls, scarfs, bows, thongs, and bras- Physically they do not need clothing, but the act of wearing a bow or seeing their companions wear their hand-made garments pleases them.

>Roll 19 AND 20- Crazy success.

The Soldiers return at night, but before they make their way to rest within their containers the Technician stops to interview them on their findings and observations of their patrol route and area.

The Soldier units debrief the Technician: " 'Floor 1' was a designation made by the last master in regards to this being the first floor they had access to. The registered title has no barring or relationship with the actual total levels in our neighboring environment. 'Floor 1' is was chosen due to it's lack of competition from sapient species and excess in natural available resources and reagents in the form of indigenous flora, fauna and an available source of running fresh water. 'Floor 1' defining feature though is access to the true interior of this towers level; which appears to a large series of rooms in the center of the structure- that have become overgrown and derelict and now house numerous creatures and monsters."
One of the Soldiers adds on a final detail, "The Master initially designated our units to scout and identify potential resources, reagents and valuable commodities, but progress has been hampered by their death and the presence of a new creature moving into the area."

The Master seems to have designated this floor and space as his first initial forward base towards most likely conquering or venturing further above and into the tower.

Your people don't know why, but they begin feeling a stronger compulsion to make changes and alter the world around them in some way or another.. Perhaps not their own home as that would be going against too much of their original protocals and designations, but the abandoned rooms lining the adjacent wall in the hallway of the tower seems fair game.

Your people don't do it immediately- it takes time and the span of a week or so in their spare time to construct the small shrine.

A room seems to be unanimously picked and methodically cleaned out: old bones, bricks, stone and dust is cleared out from the clutter as well as other incidental garbage.
The Homonculi than take turns carving into the stone a photo-realistic image of themselves followed by their serial and model numbers they were registered too upon creation.
The Technician and Dolls also carve in the numbers and images of the deceased dolls- thinking it appropriate for arbitrary emotional reasons.

I do hope we're going to do something besides peacenicks this time... I'm really interested in expanding our influence and bringing order to this chaos.

Chaos is unhealthy, the death of the master caused chaos. The master, himself, appears to have been a chaotic, selfish, person. Chaos erodes at our domicile, and I think we should work to improve it, expand it, restore this place and learn about it as we go.

It's been a few months now since the master has died and left your people all by themselves within the observatory and the tower.

They have found solace and company in each other, but true individuality, conscious self-awareness and independence still escapes their grasp. They've become a little more eager and a little more anxious to understand the world, but being artificial beings there still remains large gaps in their understand and contemplative skills that must be expanded upon and expressed.

Your people remain amoral and continue to be frustrated and confused by free will, but your sympathy and understanding towards one another and to at least the chickens in your care has assisted and expanded somewhat.

There is still much growth to be had.

Something has happened to cause alarm.
There is a disturbance in the schedule of the laborers and they have ceased going down to the waste disposal floor- initially they went down their before hurriedly fleeing up onto the stairs... and than seemingly forgetting what had alarmed them only to run back up a second time. It's been a week though and they've ceased going down to the waste disposal room entirely.

Organic waste from the garden is beginning to pile up and although it isn't enough to obstruct from work it is bothering your laborers immensely on a personal level due to their compulsive need and desire for things to be in their place.

The Technician eventually investigates what the problem could be as they're followed by a small encircling entourage of worried and concerned laborers down into the bottom floor of their arcane observatory: Otyugh.
There is an Otyugh in the Garbage Disposal.
The top of it's head peeks through the surface of congealed fat, gore and rotting organic material as it yawns it's mouth open shoveling in a constant slurry of filth and garbage with it's spiked tentacles. It doesn't seem to acknowledge the presence of your Homonculi and ignores your people in favor of the buffet of 4 months of organic waste it's wallowing and dining within- The Smell and Sight is terrible and disturbs your laborers. The Oytugh is a foreign agent does not have permission to access the garbage disposal.

The Technician also notes the Otyugh has probably eaten the bodies of the 3 late Homonculi Dolls and this stirs feelings of anger and regret in their heart. Perhaps they could have done something more appropriate to their bodies than just leave them to decompose in the pool of gore and gristle.

For now though you have an Otyugh to get rid of.

The Otyugh does not appear to be sapient nor properly socialized enough to appreciate your technicians efforts to try and tame -or for that matter- reason with it. The Otyugh responded in kind by bellowing out an echoing, deep-throated roar as it rises up onto it's three limbs and gestures openly to make itself look larger and more intimidating.
This social gesture however is lost on your Homonculi and your Technician continues to try and coax the Otyugh to peaceful domestic behavior.
The Otyugh makes one final threatening gesture before it lashes out with one of it's barbed and needle-covered tentacles in self-defense.
It manages to grasp and briefly maul the technician- piercing their body with it's unsanitary barbs before it tries to throw the Homonculi against the wall >>44827204 The creature is interrupted though by several of the Soldier Homonculi: they immediately rush into the conflict without any hesitation, they use their extended bone blades to sever the tentacle grasping the technician.
Several other soldiers in the back flex their arm-grafted bone firearms and fire three rounds of sharpened spines into the Otyugh before one final soldier leaps onto the Otyugh, embedding their bone-heels into it's head before they bury deep their blade into the Otyugh's head.

The next thirty minutes is spent pulling the barbs and spines from the Technician before disinfecting and tending to his wounds.

The Soldiers follow up the encounter by methodically studying and wading through the Garbage disposal unit for the entire rest of the day: Subsequently crushing any Otyugh larvae underneath their sharpened heels before finally finding a case of Otyugh eggs fused with mucous at the bottom of the disposal unit.

Your people are quick to find out they are surprisingly durable beings as the Technician quickly regenerates from his wounds- within hours the only thing left behind is their chest marked by small puncture scars that will most likely heal over a few more days, with only minor bruising.

Despite the events the Technician wishes to keep the egg case and instructs the laborers to collect and carry it off to one of the empty tanks in the labratory where it can be cultivated and tend to in an enclosed environment. Perhaps some use will be found for it.

>>44827722
>The Soldiers have an opposing opinion.

The Soldiers on the other hand -inbetween clearing out the few remaining larvae and making sure the Otyugh is very and truly dead- address the Technician directly in the labratory.
Bone heels clacking on the stone floor they must kneel down to address the medium sized technician face-to-face, "2 Hours ago you came within lethal threat of being destroyed. This causes us discomfort." The long, clawed, hands of the soldier model grips uncomfortably into the technician's shoulder. "You are currently the closest entity we have to a registered user and you have also successfully been identified as male. We would like to avoid any further unnecessary risks and would like you to consider permanently destroying the egg case."

The muscles within the soldiers arm-mounted organic rifle tense and flex in annoyance- Your Technician can see red, fleshy, muscles visible from the side of the organic armament slowly reload and push another clip of bone spines as the other Soldiers stand and lean over impatiently.

The Soldiers very briefly offer up an awkward embrace- hugging the technician against their bosom to strengthen social bonds and exposing their soft chests as an act of solidarity and comfort before going back to their duties.
The first thing the technician asks is for the laborers to bring in the corpse of the Otyugh into the lab as well to see if they can get some of the lab up and working again.

The Technician has never used any of this alchemical equipment before, but for some reason their hands seem to be running on muscle memory and they instinctively begun activating machines, mixing and processing fluids and organic serums in glass containers in preparation for the Otyugh to be broken down and study.
The creature is carried over into a container before the Technician and laborers begin pulling chains, pushing buttons- a metallic pipe extends from the ceiling towards the glass container and begins filling it with sticky, golden fluid which the Otyugh is immersed inside before being sealed within. The Technician then watches as the creatures is quickly dissolved, the fluid become murky before it manages to purify itself and return to it's previously golden hue.
The Glass Container bubbles, boils and the Technician instinctively presses a button and drains the canister into an unknown location below the laboratory.

>NEW GENE COMPILED INTO MANA-EMBRYOTICS: NEEDLE-LIKE SPINE PROJECTILES.

Your Technician consciously has no idea what he has just done, but he feels as though something important has happened regardless.

>DOUBLES ACHIEVED!!!! INTERESTING RESULTS!!!!!!!

Two weeks have passed since the Otyugh incident occurred: peace and tranquility has ruled over your small arcane observatory and your people have been getting along better and better with one another.
There has been an interesting development though that the Technician has been keeping a secret from the others: The Cultivation of a new Homonculi in one of the Containers.

The Technician has been carefully observing and watching the development of the new Homonculi ever since the canister mysteriously filled with the same golden fluid from before and began to cultivate a small fetal-like growth.
The Technician however became worried and interested when the Homonculi begane developing into a SOLDIER model with unique and interesting traits as well as physiology:

The New Model appears to be completely healthy and within expectations of proper development: Breasts healthy with natural curvature, body is lean and dense with muscle definition- with pronounced and supporting external bone plating and structures around the ribs, spine, joints, shoulders collar and high heel. What's significant though is the colouration and weapon-development: The new Soldier model is displaying a vivid dark green camo patterning on their bio-skinsuit and flesh. As well their arm graft is developing a more menacing looking "wide-brimmed", short-ranged armament defined by numerous small needle-like spines and bunched up muscles.

The Technician feels the soldier will be "birthed" shortly.

Your Homonculi have come to feel many new and exciting emotions and stimulai from outside forces. Many of these feelings have been outside of their control- everything has been outside of their control ever since they awoke to free will and it has caused great distress to your kind.
The Harem turned Therapy room has turned into a feature of quiet contemplation and one area to socialize and properly hone and practice your people's budding individuality, expressionism and attempt to rationalize their feelings as free-willed beings.

You have felt sad and anxious when you saw harm come to your kind or what you have designated as "your own".

To function properly some basic assumptions must be made and one is that while the universe and entities in it have no inherent purpose they are capable of creating purposes that can give satisfactory meaning to their existence.
Rolling to discard this concept and its potential harmfulness.

>Compile and Document any available genetic material from the Chicken.
>NATURAL 20
>Complete and unarguable success.

Although it pains you to kill one of the chickens- The technician feels maybe it might be better to end it's life than have it dissolved while still alive in the vat? Regaurdless: One of the chickens is -gently- slaughtered by one of the laborers and brought down to the lab to have it's body composed, compiled, dissolved and catalogued by the alchemical machines below.

>NEW GENE COMPILED INTO MANA-EMBRYOTICS: WING POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT
>SEQUENCE NON-FUNCTIONAL, FURTHER UNIQUE SOURCE MATERIAL REQUIRED.

It seemingly does not develop or lead into another Homonculi, however the Technician does feel this act was constructive and accumulative to something greater.

>>44829562
>supporting with the notion of investigating the white-furred creature in the gardens
>Talking- requires no roll, but roll appreciated.

While they were picking out an ideal chicken for experimentation, the Technician thought to ask the gardeners about the white-furred creatures: the ones off in the distance, scaling the foliage feeding off from the side of the tower.
The Laborers initially don't know what the Technician is talking about as they have no eyes, but eventually they mimic the noises the creature makes and the Laborers begin chiming in.
"Oh, Oh! Yes, yes- That creature is Registered as a "Goat". They seem to live without ownership in the surrounding area. We occasionally chase them away from the garden as they desire to eat our vegetation."
One of the Laborer adds, "They do not smell pleasant and they are disruptive."

This world is obvious broken, things are falling apart, our own creator was obviously flawed and selfish.

We are made things. We are beings who were created with purpose, but our original purpose, to serve a flawed thing, is gone.

We should strive for flawlessness. We should strive to make ourselves, and our environments without flaw. The apparent impossibility of such a goal makes it no less worthy. We should master the arts used to make US, and then use them to improve our world. Repair the flaws in it we find, and learn more about purpose.

Alright, baby making time, lets go.

>Rolls: 1, 7, 18.
>Homonculi born Rolls: 20
Oh, holy shit.
>Initial Failure met and defeated by overwhelming success.

The news is revealed to the rest of the Homonculi and they immedietly gather in the labratory for the birthing process- they are not yet mentally mature to be annoyed or bothered by having information withheld from them and are too excited about the prospect of an addition to their forming family.
The Soldier models are especially happy to see that their numbers will be increasing: their bodies visibly tense up with excitement and they childishly bound back and forth upon their heels in between frisking and shaking the Technician in excitement for the conception of their new comrade.
The Glass vat begins too drain it's golden ambrionic-like fluid and as the body becomes exposed to oxygen it begins to writh, twitch and spasms: bones and flesh begin to harden and firm up and muscles visibly flesh and stretch. Their eyes meekly wince and attempt to open as their irises and pupils visibly adjust to seeing for the first time. They cough, they hack, the wretch up and empty their stomach of mucous and further fluid before they finally rise up onto their heels and exit out of the fetal position.
There is a long pause and the new Homonculi does nothing but slowly teeter back and forth on her bone heels- the only noise being fluid dripping onto the floor from her drying dark purple nearly black hair. The pause is broken when the other Soldier Homonculi sheepishly begin to paw at her gently- careful and methodical to not scratch or prick her with their long nails.
The New Soldier Model finally starts flexing, stretching, yawning the mounted wide-mouthed, pin-toothed weapon on her arm- shivering and twitching at the pokes before innocently returning the affection.

The Soldier model coughs up one last glob of mucous before she speaks, "Who is the registered user?"

The rest of the Homonculi freeze up: Their IS no registered user and there hasn't been one in almost 2 months now. They cannot even begin to fathom what to say or how to respond and the mood is currently becoming immersed in an awkward potentially deadly silence between artificial beings.

The Long pause is eventually broken when the new soldier regains all of their composure. Their lips part and they begin to speak to the point and sternly, "Initial input period expired, new objective behind defined: Manual registration. Commence designation of appropriation registered user." The Soldier Homonculi's eyes light up, their irises shrink & dilate and their posture straightens out as they scan the crowd of your community. "Negative, Negative, Negative, Negative, Negative-"

The Soldier finally averts their gaze to the Technician- their neck jerks violently and they turn to attention, "Appropriate proxy found. Unique Genetic and Pheremone trail." The bone plate protecting their crotch divides and unsheathes to expose their genitals.
The Soldier extends their long clawed hand and meticulously gently grasps the Technician by the waste before lifting them up to essentially insert rod A into slot B.

The Technician is mildly to wildly confused, but is largely otherwise unfazed. The soldier leans forward slightly, pressing the technician close to their defined, flat stomach with their long clawed hang supporting the technicians back and rear end before the soldier's abdominal muscles visibly convulse and flex.
After 10 minutes the Technician lets out a very surprised and uncomfortable groan before the Soldier Model places them back down.
"Manual Registration completed. Material imprinted and documented."

Dafuq... so that is how soldiers memorize our genetic material and recognize the technician as the "registered user" or a proxy of it.

Amusing... now we know how to regain a "registered user". Proceed to "imprint" the rest of the soldiers and the dolls. Having a registered user is important.

Then we should research which are the tasks that a registered user is supposed to perform. Technician functions may not be the same as registered user function.

Roll for that research.

I don't think we should WANT to imprint through registration. It's inherently a system not properly compatible with homunculi-only populations, and I don't want to take that direction anyway.

Got a twitter?
>>
>>44831212
So let me get this straight

We have
>Male: Technician
>Female: Soldiers/Dolls
>Neuter: Laborers

We really need to fix that... or at least expand the number of Technicians enormously... I dunno. There's valid arguments for keeping dolls and soldiers as females only... depending on hormonal experiments and such. I know that if soldiers are literally geared for battle prowess and fight or flight instinct, throwing in ADDITIONAL testosterone might be a bad idea.

But that depends. Are we even descended from humans? Was our master human?

Too many questions. We need a new system for unit.

>>
>>44831139
How do we know that the protocol us nonconstructive and selfish? We don't understand the old master genius. Surely he had a good reason to create that protocol.
>>

>>
>>44831260
>so Tech is the only ones with male characteristics? Others are female or andro?

The Technician is currently the only Homonculi with male genetalia.
The Dolls and Soldiers are Female.
The Laborers possess no Genitals or faces and could be considered androgynous.

>>44831277
>>44831249

The Magical realm aspects will either come and go depending on user input and action.
We're still very much "fresh out of the box" it will be up to YOU the players to try and define ourselves distinct from the original programming and modeling imposed by your creator.

Corruption, he recognizes it and reacts with revulsion.
>The whole scene where he watches himself walk away from the crying girl.
He recalls leaving his normal girlfriend and withdrawing from healthy life, presumably in favor of what he considered superior 2D.
>Meme eats his lower body.
His attachment to unreasonable and unreal perfection and carnal desires have crippled him and is slowly consuming his life.
>The whole sequence where he dons the armor and fights back.
He realizes his situation and life are fucked and he chases after the girl he left, but he isn't strong enough to fight against his own addictions and is torn apart, he then opens his eyes at the beginning of the scene, and the cycle will presumably continue ad-infinitum. The protag will realize what's wrong, be disgusted with himself, try to solve his problems, and lose hope again the next day.
>>
>>44831545
I got a general sense of it the first time. I was absolutely certain the intention was not (entirely) fanservice. The feelings of both fetishization and revulsion, were purposely contrasted to get you to think about SOMETHING.

I didn't really bother watching a second time, though.
>>
>>44831607
Well.. actually the technician is actually in his physical realm so that's not necessarily true. The whole point of the video was that none of it's real at all, he's not accomplishing anything and wasting his life away on videogames/anime.

I for one would love it if all the girls continued to look like those delicious mememe girls. Goddamn. Those girls.

Seems perfectly reasonable if they are flawed entities!

If they are flawless, or at least no significantly flawed entities, then we should at least learn from them! Somewhat from dissecting them certainly but also by other methods of experimentation!

Full break down of extraenous non-family entities should be reserved when they unequivicobaly have nothing to offer.

Look at chickens! They make eggs! They are not significantly flawed! Breaking them down for spare parts and such would be wasteful and potentially a flawed action!

We should understand the world first.

well my point is we should study something BEFORE we homunculize it.

For example, what if we homunculize something into the Emotional/Doll collective but it makes them more alien/uncuddly?

What if we lose some interesting mental or social or emotional aspect from homunculizing a population too early?

Study first. Then homunculize once variables have been cut down!

But we are clearly developing individuality, a forcefully homogenized community will not synergize with individuals. Cooperation between individuals towards singular goals is good, but we shouldn't enforce control over other forms of life like our creator did. >>44831937
We should consider integrating synthetic components into future generations, since homunculus bodies are apparently significantly more alterable. Also we should consider adding in a male soldier template, since wider shoulders and denser bones allow for more muscle anchor points and greater load bearing capacity. Having multiple combat forms will allow us to defend our community against threats more capably.
>>
Specialist morphs:

>Tacticians. Soldier Morph Variant. Focus on cognitive ability, non-lateral thinking, group tactics, command.

>Hunters. Soldier Morph Variant. Focus on exploration, senses, finding resources.

>Gatherers. Labor Morph Variant. Assistant to Hunters and Base Soldier Morphs. Focus on raw carrying capacity and defense. Able to survive conflicts and defend self, but primarily avoid being burden to Hunters/Soldiers/Tacticians in combat situations.

>Crafters: Labor Variant. Focuses on making tools.

>Artisans: Technician Variant: Focuses on mechanical invention.

>Diplomats: Doll Variant: Focuses on understanding non-homunculi minds of all sorts, animal or sapient, presuming any sapients besides our master still exist.

>Organizers: Technician Variant. Focused on streamlining processes in order to produce best results and keep resources and jobs tasked properly.

>Artisans: Doll Variant. Focus upon artistic persuits for the purposes of improving living conditions and assist Homunculi in development of selves.

As we expand our intellects and free wills, the a certain level of cross compatibility should not only be planned for, but encouraged. For example, while Artisans would be DESIGNED to be artists, art produced by any homunculi-biovariant would still be encouraged.

We are beings created to a purpose, but no longer able to fulfill it. We make our own purpose from exploring ourselves and our world!

And in correcting the flaws we find! The Flawed -must- be corrected! For their own good!

The focus on gender is irrelevant. as far as we know it's just a few bits between the legs. The overall size of the unit can be changed easily. Don't take away the sexy not!Robots. I'll hate you forever.

I'm also with >>44832121
>he Flawed -must- be corrected! For their own good!
>>
>>44832045
I wouldn't mind modifying the technician to be an Abathur like creature if that improve its abilities to design creatures (sure, that would make the sex protocol a bit weird but what the hell... that is what tentacle porn is for)
>>
>>44832143
no, we need Gender so our people have more sense of personal identity.

my one worry about male soldier forms comes down to the same reason you don't get Male Furies in Eclipse Phase.

Furies are biomorphs fine tooled into hypercombatants. Males have a bunch of extra aggression tooling that can lead to overclocking the flight or fight instinct when applied to fury biomorphs, so almost all furies are female to counter balance that.

We'll have to experiment.

>he Flawed -must- be corrected! For their own good!
....therefore remove all extraneous bits off homunculi, ie. "few bits between legs"?
>>
>>44832157
Question?

Does gender need to be set at birth if we discover the ability to alter it without disrupting personal harmony and health?

It seems like something that could be modified compared to other more expansive changes. Like I doubt there's ever giving Laborer's eyes or changing their primary sensory apperatus from sensory pores.
>>
>>44832185
We do not have enough information on if that is flawed or not. Diversity is not a flaw. Far from it. We are diverse, and stronger for it!

If we were all soldiers, then we would break things.

If we were all Dolls, then we would all have comitted suicide

If we were all laborers, then we would have continued to labor eternally until we broke down or were slain by monsters!

No, diversity is strength! homegenization, removal of bits is not the way unless they are determined to be flawed. Flaws must be corrected, not removed.

Well we only need one registered user. Who else is supposed to supervise the creation of new homonculi?

>>44832157
One shouldn't derive their identity from their gender. That should be taken from their role/task i.e. soilder/doll/labor/tech

>>44832208
... what?
>>
>>44832204
I'm just asking what >>44832143 was trying to say, because the general message and the spoiler seemed to conflict to me.

If we're born through a machine, though, genitals don't serve much use for a very long time
>>
>>44832218
>One shouldn't derive their identity from their gender. That should be taken from their role/task i.e. soilder/doll/labor/tech
again, not sure there's enough information. Allowing members of the collective to derive their idenity from one thing or another, as long as it does not impede their duties or the duties of others to the collective, should be encouraged for valuable data!
>>
>>44832189
It wouldn't seem so. While it is a component in humans, it exists primarily because of a reproductive necessity. We don't reproduce as humans do so the concept of male/female dichotomies likely boils down to differences in physical construction. So far it seems that our community runs around a slightly more basic dichotomy of dominance/submission, Soldiers, Workers, and Dolls are all submissively inclined and while they are capable of initiative they seek another individual out for overruling guidance. The Technician is uniquely dominant, more ready to take initiative and propose ideas, more capable of taking command during stressful situations. It could be a core part of his design or it could simply be because he is the only homunculus which doesn't have multiple duplicates and is unique in that sense.
>>
>>44832204
Diversity may be a flaw. Right now our idea of diversity is 4 unit archetypes.

I'm all for the current unit we're using becoming an overmind/flesh crafting type creature. So long as it's cute.

>>44832229
I mean the general expansionist collective idea in general. The flawed must be corrected. As in Homonculi abducted flawed individuals/creatures and "fixing" them.

Sort of like capturing a local farmer and turning him/her into a homonculus. Preferably cute, see >>44831958 or >>44832045

>Make Cuter. More Beautiful.

I'm all for strange/beautiful body horror.
>>
>>44832273
and your stance on what constitutes a "flaw" when it comes to homunculi themselves?
>>
>>44832229
>If we're born through a machine, though, genitals don't serve much use for a very long time
Genitals are made to set the registered user, not to reproduce. We also don't know if they have other usages... it seems that soldiers can use their genitals to receive new biological material (perhaps they can use it)
>>
>>44832291
Right now I'm not entirely sure we've discovered one. I'd like it for instance if we ran into an outside individual and said oh that poor creature it's no where near as aesthetically pleasing as the dolls or even the solders! We've got to correct it!

>>44832269
I'd like the technician to stay in that leading role. Too much change too fast could be catastrophic for the other units.

I'd like this to almost turn into some weird fleshcrafting for perfection civilization that's almost tzimisce or slaaneshi but I doubt that'll achieve full effect. I'm hoping at least that we keep the mememe dolls and soilders. I love that ethereal beauty type feel.
>>
>>44832273
Before we can correct anything we would first have to determine an objective means of identifying flaws in ourselves and other organisms/constructs. Unless we become religious, in which case I guess we could just define our flaws arbitrarily.
>>
>>44832296
just gonna say we probably don't want to focus on this, no matter the temptation. What with the base image and the fact the mods will hit us all with a massive banhammer.

Remember, it's a blue board.
>>
>>44832322
that didn't really answer the question.

>>44832296
>Genitals are made to set the registered user,
yes, that thing we weren't even sure we wanted to keep
>>
If our race was capable of sexual reproduction, we would be much better off.
We would no long have to depend on machines and laboratories. We should form a since of identity, community, and bonding in such a way that we are able mimic the best qualities of the inferior races, while retaining what makes us the greatest.
We could still maintain the use of the Machine to create new forms of Homonculi, but not have to relay on it for our only means of reproduction.
>>
>>44832323
Identifying flaws in ourselves may not be possible or may follow the logic of how are we failing in our role? Are the dolls well suited for their new tasks? So far the solders are combat effective, can the laborers handle the new projects? Is anything not succeeding?

Seeing a flaw in an outsider may be their lack of a unit designation and needing to convert them to an appropriate role or modifying them to better suit their proclaimed role.

>>44832348
Perhaps see above?

I'd like a focus on and appreciation of beauty.

>>44832361
Well we've already got the chickens. We could create egg laying.. modifications? That way it doesn't distract units from their regular tasks?
>>
>>44832371
Forcefully repurposing other sentient lifeforms poses several issues, chiefly that we would be doing the same thing our human creator did to us. It would also invite hostility from other non-homunculus individuals since at least as far as we know we do not like being forced into positions by another being.

Then again, I'm just an Ego, it isn't my job to moralize. I'm just here to minimize the harm of risky decisions and achieve the best outcome for the lowest cost and least risk.
>>
>>44832361
The problem is how well these Machines incorporate new genetic data. There's no way we could manage that with any reproduction methods we cobble together. At best, we can configure new-borns to give birth to certain types of homunculi.

Hence, study the machines.
>>
>>44832421
How do we know they'll react poorly to being upgraded? Don't they know they're flawed?

If a man is drowning you don't let him drown you throw him a life raft. If they're without casts and rolls shouldn't we help enforce them to ensure greater success and productivity?
>>
>>44832450
uhh dude, we kinda melted that chicken into goop.

What makes you so certain we can "add" modifications without killing the patient, and that even if it did it won't qualify as a death if we modify the brain or some such?
>>
>>44832361
I disagree, two component gamete reproduction is a sluggish and inefficient way to adapt and improve. It relies on random selection followed by ecological pressure to produce any beneficial results at all and this often requires a great deal of time. We do not seem susceptible to disease, so constantly spinning a genetic randomizer is pointless and inefficient when we can use existent machinery to effect rapid modification in the span of a single generation.
>>
>>44832421
We already agreed to be mad scientists.
>>
>>44832467
I'm not certain. But it hasn't been proven that we can't either. That's the whole experimentation and science aspect isn't it?

>>44832468
We don't need the genetic lottery. They can be created to produce a solider/doll/etc. We've got the exact schematics.

Though if we have plenty of birthing chambers I'm not sure it's a necessity.
>>
We should see if the alchemy pods require an entire creature, or if a sample is sufficient. Using an entire creature is inefficient, in many ways, and opens us to moral questions.

On a similar note, we may want to consider running a splendid of the technician through the device, and seeing if it identifies our composition.
>>
>>44832516
Sample, not splendid.
>>
>>44832497
has anyone ever had this scenario and NOT gone mad scientist?

>>44832515
>I'm not certain. But it hasn't been proven that we can't either. That's the whole experimentation and science aspect isn't it?
except you worded it like we can assume it'll go that way.
>>
>tfw everyone is upset about the registration process and I loved it.
>>
>>44832531
Well no
But we might as well start strong.
>>
>>44832531
I think we owe it to the flawed to try.

>>44832536
Agreed.
>>
>>44832552
Great.
So once we get this whole sense of self thing figured out we can start dragging entire towns back to the lab to feed to the machine.
For science.
>>
>>44832563
Well you see I think we'd need to start with one or two individuals from a village. Then with the sense of self we could possibly create modified doll/solider hybrid that would be an infiltrator that could prepare an area to be harvested to add to the our collective or experimented on.
>>
>>44832589
Good point.
Right now we aren't very good at pretending to be human.

>>44834030
>kidnap people
We didn't. Yet.
No, what we'll do instead is to ask people in the streets why they are flawed. Then we ask them if they want some body modifications. We cosmetic surgeons now. Mad cosmetic surgeons.
Because if everyone is mememe, no one will be!

And may I remind you that these are not canon (yet)?
We might still be ethical about it. Think of it, an ethical mad scientist race. We won't augment you and turn you into one of us, oh no. But we sure as hell will make a nice case of why you should.
>>
>>44834995
good luck convincing them, I guess?
>>
>>44834995
I think that an ethical mad scientist is a bit of a contradiction, the whole reason they're called mad is because they aren't concerned with what their society would call ethics or morality, or the implications/consequences of their actions.
I like this quest and even though I'm playing a role that is supposed to behave amorally, I'm not particularly interested in it all devolving into someone's kidnapping/forced transformation magical realm and I will support any ethical choice that turns the quest away from said potential magical realm.
>>
>>44835305
Well, that's kinda my point, what if your ethics differ from the other society's ethics? What if we can convince the other party to convert to our ethics?

>>44835244
This is why we must perfect ourselves so that the others can see, and become us at their own volition. We must be a shining example.
>>
>>44835416
I meant convincing the other anons
