"I can't believe him."

Mom has a sour look on her face. She walks from the ruined park with her arms held over her head.
"He lost control of that thing a week ago and didn't tell me.."

'That thing' being the titan in the distance, slowly forming itself from concrete and rubble from the city. Even now, I can hear the sound of scraping and screeching as Iron is bent and torn along its exterior.
Slowly, the behemoth takes another massive step. The only saving grace being it's movement. It lumbers along at speeds which would make turtles and snails laugh.

If Asai isn't lying: that thing is doing this completely under its own control.

I am Itsukuma Masami. Today is the worst!
Like, the actual worst!

My 'Dad' (ugh) Asai has never been the most agreeable person. He's tried to kidnap me, and kidnap my friends, and-
He's just a terrible person all around!

He was also controlling the massive structure that was Fortune's HQ. I don't know how, and the specifics are lost on me; but recently he's lost control of it.
Now it's doing.. that. It's forming into some kind of monster made of concrete and steel. He just admitted, under duress, that he has no control over it any longer.

Now Asai is in time-out, where he should be.

Right now, I only have a few people who can help: Mom, Kaori, Julie, and Haruko. I'm sure Mir is stalking around here somewhere, too.

The beast braces itself as its foot lands hard. The thump rivals that of thunder.

"Let's just-" Kaori peers at the metallic exterior of the monster. "Let's just pack up and leave town and let the humans deal with it."

"Kaori, No." I say, curtly.

"Let's call Ultraman!" Julie exclaims, unhelpfully.
"Who?" I peer back at her.

"Sweetie, Ultraman isn't real." Mom pats her shoulder.
"H-He's not?"

"Can we please focus on what we can do?"

>Like maybe fight it?
>Maybe I can trap it in a card?
>Stay away, see where it's going first
>Maybe.. make another card?
>Tell me about Ultraman.

"First off." I watch the lumbering beast saunder in the direction of the park we're standing in. "We should get somewhere safe and see where it's going."

Everyone seems to be in sudden agreement. We gather everyone together and head toward the vantage point Kaori and I were watching from earlier. It's a tall building, far above the streets, much of it had been abandoned.

What's even better: If Kaori is right, Maeda and Ryouta are hiding out in here. We can pick them up after we decide on a plan on what to do.

We phase in from the top of the building, and Kaori takes a picture of the beast with her cell phone.

"What are you doing?"
"It's a great shot for the school newspaper!"
"Kaooori. Please."

"What happens if we go inside?" Haruko asks, nonchalantly.
"Same thing that happened last time, I would imagine. We're lost in that crazy world where up is down and left is right." Mom crosses her arms.

"..Let's not do that."

"I still think we should call Ultraman.." Julie sulks.

"Who is Ultraman? What are you talking about?" Kaori nudges her.
"Don't tell me you don't know! He's a superhero!"
"I don't watch cartoons like you do, Julie."

"No! He's real! He can grow to any size he wants and he can trap monsters in another universe to fight them!"
"Sweetie, Ultraman isn't real."

"But I saw him! He was on the TV!"

Wait.
He can trap monsters in another universe to fight them?

I have another world to work with, AND I can trap monsters.

"Hey, what if I made a card to trap that thing. Just like Ultra whatever?"

"That's a good thought Masami." Kaori crosses her arms. "Except how are you going to make it? want to go sit down at home while it stomps the city to pebbles?

>I can make it in time! I just need a few minutes!
>You're right. I should think of a way to fight it HERE.

"That's the best thing, Kaori!" I smile, "I already have the card!"

I reach into my pocket, and then take out the card that contains the house! It's been mostly used as a personal time-out space, so far.

"Isn't that like, a tiny little house?"

"Well it's fine! I just gotta make it a bit, bigger. Right?"

"You don't have time for that! Look! It's crushing the city RIGHT NOW!"

"Well, Maybe I just. Gotta modify it a bit! Not a problem!"

"Masamiii. Think of something else."

Mom seems to be ignoring our little exchange. She's instead focused solely on the monster as it slowly meanders through town.
"..Why?" She seems to say, below her breath.

Fortunately, I'm close enough to hear her.

"'Why' what?"
"It's.. moving toward the school."

..
"Why?"

"I don't know! That's what I just said!"

"Hey Masami." Kaori nudges me again. "How are you going to put that thing."

She points at the monster on the horizon.

"Into THAT thing?"

She points at the tiny card in my hand.

"It's.. the same way as before! Just walk up to it and hold the card against the giant. No different from a human, right?"

A thump in the distance indicates another footfall. Some car alarms blare in the distance.

"Masami. I don't think that's going to work."
"WELL WHAT IS YOUR IDEA IF MINE ARE SO BAD?"

"P-please, sweetie. Calm down." Mom tries to calm the air between the two of us.

It's not gonna work, though!

Kaori pouts, "I'm just saying we should use the things we have available right now. Just blow out it's knee or something, it'll fall down."
I clench my fists, "And crush HOW MANY people when it lands? No! We're gonna get it out of the city and fight it elsewhere!"
"Masami, don't be that way, just-"

"Are you going to help me, or not?!"
"I'll help if it's a sensible plan! Running at the giant monster makes no sense!"
"I'm done then! I'll be back when I beat this thing!"

"Masami, Wait!" Mom reaches out to grab my shoulder.

It's too late to stop me. I've already bounded off in the direction of the titan in the distance.

--

I land on a building overlooking the stone behemoth. It awkwardly swerves and leans as it struggles to maintain balance.

It's not exactly threatening from this standpoint. It's barely able to keept itself erect on two legs.

Gently taking out the card, I stealthfully hop over toward where one of its legs is planted. Placing the card against its foot; I concentrate.

Just think about pulling in Asai. This is just a much bigger Asai.

Just think about it.
Think about it..

Think about it...

Suddenly, that foot shifts. I hop backwards just as it lifts up and soars to its next resting place.

Kaori was right. That was like trying to push an elephant into a cardboard box.

GRRGH!

You hop and bound after the giant's foot. Thankfully it's not stepping on too many buildings FOR NOW. It's sticking mostly to the empty and deserted streets.

OH NO!

Looking several blocks ahead. There's a police roadblock set up! What the heck are they doing!? They're just sitting there staring at it as it comes closer and closer!

I-
I gotta figure out a way to get that thing out of here. I gotta do it RIGHT NOW!

Maybe.. maybe I could make another card.

No, no that won't work. The giant is closing in on the roadblock.

Maybe, then! I could try making the card's effect BIGGER!

Yeah! Instead of a house, I could try picturing it as a Palace! That could hold the monster, maybe!

I jump out in front of the monster and lay the card on the ground.
Let's try a different kind of concentration.

Slowly, a circle starts to form around the card.
I just gotta make it bigger so the monster can fall in.
That's not a problem! I've made cards bigger before! It's just a simple edit.

I concentrate on the card itself, thinking about it's size in relation to the other world. This is not an easy thing to comprehend, and I'm pretty sure normal people wouldn't be able to do this.
Yet, somehow, it feels almost like second nature to me.

The card is glowing. From a tiny card, it expands to fill up the width of the street.
I squeak and hop out of the way, just as its foot lands directly in front of my face. My ears ring as I'm covered in concrete dust.
Slowly, he starts to sink into the asphalt. This is still extremely difficult, but fitting him inside of this card is still doable.

Concentrating on the monster, I can feel its being slowly being pulled in. Slowly, it starts to shrink. It falls to one leg, and then tries to actively resist being pulled in.

It's not able to. There's a popping in my ears as the last part of the monster in the real world is flushed into the other world.
I bend over and awkwardly pick the card up from the asphalt. It's.. grown, quite a bit. It's huge and unwieldy, now! It takes both hands just to drag it along the concrete.
I did it, right?
Uh oh, are those policemen coming in my direction?

>JUMP IN THE CARD!

The world starts to fade back in. Fortunately, the card should disappear from the real world. It's like a door, after all.
I think, I don't really understand how it works. It's not a science.

Huh, everything seems a bit more wooden than it usually is.

Typically, I would be standing on the carpet in my living room.
yet, this almost seems like.. wood finish?

CLANK!

NOW I'M INSIDE OF A GLASS PRISON! WHAT THE HECK!?

"Well, look at what we have here." A booming voice seems to vibrate the table. "It's so adorable, I just want to hang it on my keychain."

I look up, toward the sky. I can see a face distorted in the glass. It seems to be-

I'm inside of an upside-down cup!?

"HEY! WHAT IS THIS?"
"Hmm? what was that? I can't hear you."

It's Asai.
But.
It's a really, really big Asai!

"The last couple of minutes were.. interesting. Tell you the truth, it was more of a spiritual experience than I would like to admit." He licks his finger. "Though, this doesn't speaks nothing for the rude guest who also showed up."

"Rude guest?"

"Hmph. I knew it would come crawling back eventually." Asai taps his finger on the table. It almost feels like an Earthquake! "But I didn't expect him like this. He was almost my size, when I saw him!"

"Where is he now!?"

"Oh he was upset, so he stormed upstairs. He's now wrecking that nice guest bedroom you had set up. He never had a very good temper, throwing fits all the time."

>OH NO! NOT THE GUEST BEDROOM!

The guest bedroom!?

Does he mean the bedroom with all the matching sheets and furniture that you picked out to feel welcoming!? THAT GUEST BEDROOM!?

"Y-You're bluffing! No one would attack the guest bedroom!"
"I'm not, and he is. Like I said, he's hard to control once he gets in one of those 'moods'."
"MAKE HIM STOP!"

"I'd love to, but he's really angry. I tried talking to him before all of this came about, but you know how hard it is to talk to angry people."

This is the worst!

"I'll be right back you really big jerk! You better think of a way to stop him when I get back!"

With that, I flip back out of the other world.

--

It takes some concentration, but I'm able to shrink the massive card down to something a little more managable. It even fits in my pocket now!
I don't know why, but shrinking it was MUCH HARDER than expanding it. Maybe it's because of the monster, contained on the inside?

Either ways, I step into the living room. Asai is still sitting at the dining room table, a smug grin on his face.

"There you are, he got bored with the guest bedroom, so now he's moved to one of the smaller rec rooms."
"WHY AREN'T YOU STOPPING HIM!?"

"Wish I could!"

Yeah 'wish you could', jerk.

I dash upstairs to see everything in chaos! It's a disaster!
Jars are tipped over, tables pushed, rugs upturned! I glance inside the guest bedroom to find it in shambles.

Oh this just makes me so mad!

"LOOK HERE YOU!" I burst into the rec room, just in time to see it tearing the fluff out of one of the pillows. "I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU THINK THIS IS BUT YOU WILL OBEY THE RULES WHEN YOU'RE IN THIS HOUSE!"

It looks like a more sleek version of the building. I can easily believe this to be the closest to a 'human' form that it has. Only, it's a mere couple feet taller than I am now.

"ARE YOU LISTENING TO- OOF!"
With all his force, he turns around and throws the pillow right at me. It smacks my face with the kind of force I would expect from a punch!

How?!

"Oh, that's another thing." Asai says, suddenly appearing behind me. "One of the great things about this world is that things don't lose strength when you make them smaller. I thought you would have known that by now, but apparently not."

So I have a super-strong, angry, tiny building running loose in the house I want my family to live in one day. Asai can't stop it, and it's far stronger than I am.
I don't know how it's possible, but I've somehow made things worse!
