I pour one out for Nurban and the homies who aint here no more
>>
As the commander, we have a couple of options before our time skip, choose:

>Start Research
>Start some projects in the workshop
>Establish a contact in____ [-2 Field operatives,-5 Rookies, -500k]
>Contact Exalt
>other
>>
>>44642967
What are our research options?
>>
>>44642966
hello anon

no sacrifice will be forgotten.

Research:

>Alien Materials [Requires 10 Sci,10 Eng 100 Alien/Advent weapon fragment, 100 Alloy, 100 Elirium, 2 Mil, 1 Month] Our understandings of these alien materials were lost twenty years ago, to fully uncover their potential, we need to thoroughly research them, commander.

>Advent weapon fragments [Requires 5 Sci, 5 Eng, 500k, 20 Advent weapon fragment, 2 weeks]: Commander, we need to understand the reason the self destruction of these advanced weapon. It is tied to its owners. Perhaps in the future we might be able to create one of our own.

>Advent grunt autopsy [Requires 5 Sci, 500k, 3 Advent corpses, 1 week] : Commander, This advent regular soldier or grunt is one of our very common enemies in the battlefield. From what we have seen so far, they are carbon copy of each other. Still, it is a wonder of genetic modification.

>Advent captain autopsy [Requires 7 Sci, 700k, 1 Advent corpse, 10 days]: From what we have seen commander, this advent captain was created to lead. Its neural structure is more advanced than the regular solider. We need a fresh body to unlock the secrets inside him.

>Advent armor [Requires 5 Sci, 5 Eng, 800k, 10 damaged armour OR 5 undamaged one, 10 days] The advent armour is quite resilient, commander. Studying its properties might help us in the future to create armours of our own

>Advanced ballistics [Requires 2 Sci, 5 Eng, 200k, 10 grenades, 10 Rockets, 5 days] With what little we have, we can improve our arsenal by creature more volatie and powerful rockets and grenades.

>Z0-1 Serum [Requires 5 Sci, 100k, 3 days] It pains me to say this but should the aliens capture on of our men, the consequences can be dire. What i am doing here is unethical and unmoral but should one of our men gets capture, we could remotely release a deadly serum of my creation that will end the soldier's life in matter of moments. It will be as painless as possible, commander.
>>
>>44643001
I know I want to repair the skyranger before we go out and I think the serum would be good to have just in case of capture. I just want to wait for others to show up
>>
>>44643092
we will wait five minutes before starting
>>
>>44643001
Advent weapon fragments
>>
>>44643119
I would say this but
>Repair Skyranger [7 Engi, 200k, 5 days] This old dog has seen better days, commander. It is crucial to repair it. Big Sky will be proud of your choice
and we are crossing an ocean to egypt
>>
>>44643137
What? It's nowhere on the list
>>
>>44643001
>>44642967
Repair the Skyranger.

Research is important, but so is having a troop transport that won't fall out of the sky.
>>
>>44643163
thats because that was research. workshop is separate
>>
>>44643137
>>44643163
Oh, yeah, nevermind, pastebin, always forget that shit
>>
>Repair Raven-2 [5 Engi, 100k, 3 days] Commander, we don't really expect much of an aerial fight from the hostile forces but we may never know when we will need them

>Repair Skyranger [7 Engi, 200k, 5 days] This old dog has seen better days, commander. It is crucial to repair it. Big Sky will be proud of your choice

>Arm Skyranger [10 Engi, 300k, 5 LMG, 2 Rocket launcher, 1 week] i think i can rig the skyranger, commander. It is not an ideal answer but it is better than leaving big sky defenseless. Plus, our boys can use some help from the skies if things got too rough

>Build a training school [Requires at least 5 trained tactician OR 5 Simulation programs, 5 power 10 Engi, 1 Mil, 2 weeks] Let's face it commander, most of our men aren't even solider. They lack proper training. we could decrease our casualties by having more trained soldiers

>Process (So far)
1 Damaged Advent armour= 20 Alien Alloy
1 Undamaged Advent armour= 50 Alien Alloy

>Upgrade barracks [ 5 Engi, 500 k, 3 day]: Our barracks can use a full adjustment. Our boys and girls will feel better with better place to live in.
>>
>>44643119

Should i roll?

[2 days has passed, we have established a contact in Egypt, our small cell there will keep us updated on the current situation]
[4 days has passed, No signs of friendies in Egypt, our contact will keep us updated]
[5 days has passed, the skyranger is good to go]
[6 days has passed, The Alien statue was erected in Canada. The luxurious public services provided by the hostile forces gained more approval from the public.]

Soldiers:

10 rookies

Combat related items:
-20 assault rifle

-5 Rocket lanucher, 20 Rockets
-5 riot shotgun
-5 Assault shotgun

>7 rookie
>2 assault rifle
>2 LMG
>3 assault shotgun (facility close quartes)
>smoke grenades for all (providing cover for the targets are priority)

>Ann Vega,Squaddie,Medic (if VIPs need attention)

what you guys say?
>>
>>44643615
Up to 5? Or more?
I'd say sennd 4 main ones + 3 rookies.
>>
>>44643615
What's the deployment limit?
We need to know that before we can choose a team.
>>
>>44643668
give vega smoke and a carbine
Im assuming egypt is off?
>>
>>44643668
should i go to Rookie= assault rifle+ grenade?

Technically speaking, most of them aren't trained to use LMGs, Sniper rifles...etc.
>>
>>44643692
>>44643670
10 sounds reasonable.
>>44643693
we established a contact there, that's it.
>>
>>44643668
Rookies only use assault rifles and grenades.
These aren't trained soldiers and specialists.
>>
>>44643694
>>44643724
Oh crap. in that i case i suggest half goes with assault rifle for the attack and storming, and half with shotguns for when we are already in the facility
>>
>>44643615
>>44643670
Here's my idea then:
Brandon Smith (Leader) - [Assault Sq.] - Assault Shotgun || Scatter Grenade
Yousef Khaleed || - [Scout Sq.] - Assault Rifle || Smoke Grenade
Dimitri Gleb - [Heavy Sq.] - LMG || Magnum Heavy Pistol
Ann Vega - [Medic Sq.] - Assault Rifle || Smoke Grenade
Unknown - [Rookie] - Assault Rifle || Smoke Grenade
Unknown - [Rookie] - Assault Rifle || Smoke Grenade
Unknown - [Rookie] - Assault Rifle || Smoke Grenade
>>
>>44643763
We need more regular grenades
>>
>>44643747
>>44643763

I think we should be a heavy with an lmg and a rocket lawn chair if shit really goes down
>>
>>44643747
Also anon classes are limited to the weapons they were trained with. Only assaults can handle shotgun since it is part of their training.
>>
>>44643773
Switch two rookies then::
Brandon Smith (Leader) - [Assault Sq.] - Assault Shotgun || Scatter Grenade
Yousef Khaleed || - [Scout Sq.] - Assault Rifle || Smoke Grenade
Dimitri Gleb - [Heavy Sq.] - LMG || Magnum Heavy Pistol
Ann Vega - [Medic Sq.] - Assault Rifle || Smoke Grenade
Unknown - [Rookie] - Assault Rifle || Smoke Grenade
Unknown - [Rookie] - Assault Rifle || Scatteer Grenade
Unknown - [Rookie] - Assault Rifle || Scatter Grenade

>>44643780
Close quarters/indoors though.

>>44643783

Also do they all carry a pistol alongside by default?
>>
>>44643615
Bring a lot of grenades. If the problem isn't solved then you aren't using enough explosives
>>
>>44643793
yes.
>>
>>44643615
Brandon Smith (Leader),Squaddie,Assault
Assault Shotgun, Magnum

Yousef Khaleed,Squaddie,Scout
Assault Carbine, Smoke

Dimitri Gleb,Squaddie,Heavy
LMG, Rocket Launcher

Ann Vega,Squaddie,Medic
Assault Carbine, Scatter

6 Rookies
Assault Rifles, Grenades
>>
>>44643793
but there is a chance of reinforcements and a well placed rocket can take care of them
>>
>>44643810
>>44643793

both sounds good actually.
>>
>>44643793
If the rookies can only wield Assalut Rifles and pistols, then this sounds the most reasonable to me.
Let's not forget that our primary ovjective is extracting live targets and not anihillating every resistance
>>
Ok my final edit to my suggestion.
Brandon Smith (Leader) - [Assault Sq.] - Assault Shotgun || Magnum Pistol
Yousef Khaleed || - [Scout Sq.] - Assault Carbine || Smoke Grenade

The trip was on its way, you saw new faces around but you chose to stick to your squad. There wasn't much to talk about. It wasn't really necessary. Some will not returned back to base by the end of this mission.

The commander thought it would for the best to have two leaders in this large team. This Mile Kay didn't look like the leading kind of guy. You drowned your doubts away and waited in silence.

"Central, this is big sky, dropping the package into the hotzone."

"Copy big sky, keep those engines running. We don't know what lies ahead...shit..."

"Something wrong central?" you asked.

"I am detected multiple hostiles in the facility. No heat signature what so ever expect in the main building. No sign of exalt operatives either. Strike team, head back to base. this is a damn suicide mission.

c) Exalt expects us to take the brunt before they strike

>We wait a while for our friends then we will bug off
Where in that map are our drop off points?

I suggest we position on some cover on two sides and guard the outer areas, try to have them come off the choke points in the bottom area and guard the top.

You took your team and went for the west side, Mile's team went for the Eastern side. There was nothing but Turrets and Large Mech Troops with Gigantic particale cannons. None would engage hostiles for the time being. Central wasn't happy with this.

"That's it strike it, I-"

"What is the matter, XCOM? Afraid to take a dip first?" An unknown man graveled voice with some statics hacked into your secure line."Thermal scanning does nothing in detecting us. Our Mimetic skin sure does help in these time."

"State your position, Now." Mile wasn't exactly friendly.

"Relax, we are north of your position in a small sniper nest. We are only three though. So, XCOM brethern, make a move and we will follow."

Oh I had made a drawing but okay:
Top-Right Group: Fireteam 1
Scatter on right flank's 2 outside units, so you don't damage cover.
Move units to secure the diagonal entrance.
Take 3 for overwatch, or finish the outside nits if scatter doesn't do it.

Bottom group: Fireteam 2
Scatter on the 2 outside units, 2 move to secure diagonall entrance.
One moves and uses a Hi-Ex on the bottom entrance.

Top-Left: Auxiliary Group
Take down Top-Left entrance enemy, move to secure diagonal entrance.
Assist on two outside units(if scatter doesn't finish them), or overwatch.
>>
>>44644436
Get into full cover outside the range of the turrets.
West team, fire a rocket at the northwest turret while firing on the exposed two Advent outside the wall.
Once Advent starts to move west the East team hits the northeast turret then falls back to cover to split the Advent response.

Everything happened so fast.

Dmitri blew up the Turret while the rest of your team rained fire and death on the patrolling Mechs. Yoused popped a smoke grenade when the Other Mechs were approaching.

The exalt snipers were disabled a handful of turrets and Mech troops

but Mile's team wasn't read for this.

They did manage to destroy the first turret but it exposed two nasty ones on the rooftop of the main building, they were more advacned. The one with the small antenna signaled other turrets near by to shred them. It looks like this particular turret has some sort of control over all the other ones and the Mechs since two focused on the half dead team.

The other team was soon in dismay, Seeing their blight, Exalt snipers split, some were aid them while others focused on the main targets inside. You and your team were under heavy fire.

Miles Team to fall back to cover, concentrate firepower on the Mech that is closest (south of their position).

Out of now where, the exalt sniper team showed themselves. Even in this cold weather, they wore some light clothes with a striped bandanna "Good Job, team. The site is ours."

Why not Molar Implants? Fit them out with cyanide capsule and throw in a microphone and a transmiter. This will get us their position for recovery, a mircrophone to get some intel on the interogations and such and the operative will have the option to escape torture via biting down.

Allows them to stay in contact with us even when capture and if encountering trouble bite down. The serum option would be perhaps best in two packages a Amnesia one and a Lethal one. I would prefer Amensia, since while it strips them of all knowledge they would retain skills and will still be able to be recovered and perhaps given treatment.

Come on this is xcom. We can at least combine tradecraft with some hypertech and not just go for hypertech. I mean xcom dabbled in tradecraft, right? Get some lessons from the ruskies and the brits.

True, mindcontrol would prevent them from biting down. But molar or mandibular microphone and trasmiter implant host are as a rule not informed of that, so they would have knowledge only of the cyanide pill, and training to prolong survival until the last minute. More than that mind control is not instant, it takes a few moments until its done. Time enough to get a good bite in if you have time to grab your head, more than enough in fact.

Similar to how exalt had time to go for suicide before capture. If exalt could do it then i fail to see how we could not, considering that tazer and mind control both have a period until you are fully subdued.

So yeah, the only thing about the remote detonate serum imho is a bit wonky since we can do it now already. Cyanide in a molar, transmitter, microphone and if you really want it a small detonator to mask all that when it gets bitten or remote detonated.

If we go for a serum like that the one described is worthless considering that it is already within the capabilities of RL world to pull that shit off.

A amnesia serum would be more XCOM speed, or something like Vitoc or other Time delay poison prior to mission. You have 24 or 48 hours to live if you do not get the antidone. Pre inject it and do not get captured. Even that is again within RL capabilities. The trick would be to be undetectable and not degrading in physical and metal abilities prior to release.

The only thing that would warrant a research project would be a amnesia serum and cure combo that prevents and info leak and then restores the soldier to its previous conditions once retrieved.

Else all that is a foundry project for the engineers to figure out basically.

Since we sent 5 Rookies to Exalt's Australia base, I think we're short on Rookies.

We started with 10, lost 5, and then sent 5 to Exalt.
We should have 0 Rookies right now.

Remember, on the mission we sent 6 Rookies, 4 died in the mission, and then 1 killed himself back at base.

Our base is the hardest to be detected of all bases, since it is in the middle of a thick rainforest. Base defense is our least concern at the moment

We should focus on:

-Recruits
-Better weapons/Armors for our soldiers
-Moni
-Disturbing Advent operations

With some improvisation, Robin made the Advent armour look passable.

You, Ann, Abd and Yousef found yourself next to the building after a couple of hours. Skyranger couldn't land straight into the heart of the city so you and your team took a long hike. It was about 9 PM here. you had some confirmation that every target was inside the building for in important meeting or something like that

You planned for next move.

I need an honest answer. This wasn't done for the sake of XCOM PROJECT OF PEACE!
>>
>>44650277
Good. Let's blame this on that guy called 4chan.
>>
>>44650233
One person at each door on the inside to stop people form leaving while the other's march upstairs.

We start the gunfight on the upper floor and kill them there, So we force the others into a kill zone by the doors.

Is not okay with this mission, but even less okay with willing alien sluts.

>>44650294
Op, Personally I find this mission as something you WOULD see done in a real life operation. We are fighting a Gurilla war against a Superior enemy. Every dirty trick in the book is needed do not feel bad or like you stepped over the line. War is NOT supposed to be feel good or anything, You get dealt a deck of cards. One hand is shitty and the other hand is equally shitty. You've played it well with the troops questioning shit but still going along once we got all information about how they are willing.
>>
>>44650273
>>44650276
Nothing strong enough to take down an entire building. They are mostly gathered in one spot, which will make it a bit easier.
>>
>>44650233
Is this building using old infrastructure, such as natural gas pipes?
Any visible security cameras?

We need to make sure that all of the exits are blocked so that no one escapes.
>>

probably not. Modern building since it is sponsored by Advent and all that Jazz. even if there is some CCTV, we hide our faces with Advent helmet
>>
>>44650294
I think it is fine. It is bound to happen in a scenario like this
>>44650358
Disguise as building inspectors with an advent escort. we set charges a floor or 2 below the meeting and then detonate it to take everyone out and escape in the chaos
>>
>>44650294
Probably. People can choose if they want to be nazi terrorists or Startrek tier moralfags.

>>44650352
While this may be true, x-com isn't remotely working like real life, with a special ops team of 10 changing the fate of the world. There's a certain story path that would be extremely against these things, but this is fan fiction anyway so canon arguments are moot.
>>
>>44650457

would really rather be the WOLVERINES but with Aliens instead of North Koreans

>because let's face it the original Red Dawn was garbage
>>
>>44650457
if X-com was real life, lets be honest. No fucking way we'd win hands down.

Remember kids, Do we kill a few today to save a lot tomorrow, Or do we let a lot die tomorrow to spare our hands the blood of a few today? War isn't easy and it was never supposed to be.
>>
>>44650438
>>44650352
You stationed Ann and Yousef at the exits. You and Abd went for the main area where everyone was gathering, You wished you couldn't hear their screams as you downed them one by one.

Minutes later, You longed for that silence. It....reflected many thing in regards to yourself. Your comrade was't feeling anything better.

Your sins no matter how noble they were will haunt you for the rest of your life. After ensuring that none remained alive, you set the building on fire.. It will be a long walk for the skyranger.

That concludes our thread. I would like to apologize for the last mission for its glaring similarities to our shitty real life event. If it troubles any of you, i can just cut it. we will pretended that this never happened.

This wasn't my intentions. Mine was to deliver some sort of entertainment.

A lot of us liked it OP, and sure some people don't like it but we're fighting against a super alien NWO.

That's a normal human reaction to such an event, But you must remember its just a quest OP, we aren't harming REAL people.

Hey Salty man. Remember how the Nazi camp guards tried to justify themselves in World Court? They said they were just following orders, and that they honestly though letting those people be killed was going to better the future. They were sentenced to death, because "following orders" is no reason to give up your basic humanity. When you act like the enemy, you become the enemy and when victory stops being a step to an objective, but becomes the objective itself, you're lost sight of why you started the war in the first place.

Parting question, why are we still fighting?

See you in fallout snow, I'm done with Xcom.

Yeah, they'll print something of us in a bad light, but it was never a crime to do so even before the aliens invaded. It's not something that has any tangible thing that could affect us, and indeed if we didn't false flag it, it would have cause people to see us in an even worst light for killing innocent civilians.

>>44652104
I don't see the PR harming us though. It's part of the Propaganda vs Education thing. Propaganda can sway people who don't know much, but if we can teach people what the Advent are really doing to us, show, them and provide proof. They will ultimately believe that we are telling the truth and that any propaganda shown to them will be lies, thus reinforcing that belief every time they see propaganda. Propaganda may sway battles, but it won't win a war.
