PREVIOUSLY ON MAGICAL GIRL LIBERTY: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Magical+Girl+Liberty

You remember the snow days back home before you became a Magical Girl. You’d roll up snow in your hands, and lob snowballs at your Dad while he shoveled the driveway. Of course being Dad, he often responded by whipping snow in his snowshovel right at you. Those showers of snowflakes and bits of ice were some of the most fun things you can remember. Mom of course wasn’t home at that time, but those days you didn’t really care. You were a kid, you were having fun, and you didn’t have the responsibility of being an agent of justice and freedom in the world nor having your Dad’s blood on your hands.

You really miss being a kid sometimes. Not even hiking through the snow up the mountain in the German Alps was making you feel better. Hiking too was something you loved doing as a kid. You even received a merit badge for it back when you were a Girl Scout. You think you still have the uniform somewhere. Unfortunately, that cover has been blown too many times. Which meant you had to hang up the sash and the dress. Shame really. You loved wearing that thing. It was cute. Of course, besides that it was getting a bit too small for you.

Sumire might get a kick out of it if you wear it now though, probably some queer thing or something.

Sumire, Anneliese, and Rana respectively trail behind you. The blistering snow was making your face red and making your hair wet. You didn’t notice the chill as much, you had at least prepared for this weather by giving everyone winter jackets and the like. Nobody was complaining which was at least nice.

At least, nobody except Sumire. “Are we there yet!?”

“Quiet,” you say. “There could be sentries.”

“That’s what you said the last five miles,” she whines. “There could be sentries! There could be guards! There could be the Abominable Snowman! Ugh!” She stomps her foot in the snow, pouting deeply. “I hate snow.” You look back at her, smirking. “Don’t you start you big palooka.”

“Well, I hate the beach, you hate the mountains, we can relate on something,” you say. She scoffs, rolling her eyes.

“There!” Anneliese rans up past Sumire and next to you. She points it out in the distance. Past the gray mist and the falling snow was the stark silhouette of a castle built into the side of a mountain. The old medieval stone was backed up by metal supports and rigging for modern expansions and facilities. But the general shape of it recalls a fortress of old, revived anew. “The Castle.” The four of you stand in awe of it. A faint red light shines from a comm tower sticking out of a watchtower. A cable car rides up to the castle, apparently the best way to enter by land.

So, this is Baroness von Streucker’s base of operations.

> The Castle with No Name <
> The mysterious estate of the Streucker Household <

You cross your arms, your breathe turning into vapor. “Well. We found it.”

“What now?” asks Rana.

Well, honestly you weren’t expecting to find it so soon.

“Alright, let’s set up camp here.” You look up at the steep slope right next to you all, then start sweeping down some snow. “Get some snow to cover us up and set up the tents a little ways down the trail. We can set up the radio here.” And like clockwork, everyone starts working. Well, everyone except Sumire. She simply strikes up her tent right next to the radio, and then immediately curls in. “… Sumire, come on.”

“Hey, someone needs to guard the radio.” You roll your eyes. Ugh. You pull the heavy radio out and rest it on the ground. You sweep some snow and ice that’s gathering on it off of it then work out the portable power pack as well. These things that you’re using as courtesy of Operator #5’s many supply drops thanks to his suborbital Wings that fly overhead. All of them are currently being overseen by Mecha Magical Girl Fortress at the moment considering the circumstances of the growing war. You pull the antennae up and start twisting and turning the knobs. Hopefully the radio won’t pick up any of their channels. You don’t want to risk them finding out you’re here by way of radio.

As Rana and Anneliese set up camp further down the trail, you finally make contact with Operator #5. “Operator?” you call. “Are you there?”

“Yes. Your signal is extremely weak. Report.”

“We’ve found the Castle. We’ve found out where Baroness von Streucker is taking the children and we have reliable information that she may be in there too. What are your orders?”

“Gather information, do not attempt to sabotage the operation without my go-ahead. We want to know precisely what it is they are doing.” Alright, fair enough. “My Wing relaying this information must be leaving the area, so you’ll be out of contact with me until tomorrow. Good luck.”

You sigh as the radio turns to static. You shut it off, then look at Sumire as she naps in her tent. Really? You ball up some snow then toss it at her. “Ah!” She yelps, jumping up and banging her head onto the top of the tent. “Ah, come on! Can’t I have a nap!? We just hiked like ten miles to get here!”

> “Fine, we can rest for now.”

“We need to gather as much information as we can,” you declare. You pull some spare clothes out of your backpack, then place them over your front. Dull colors, casual wear. Nothing too bright. Remember, when signaling for three things, you use the thumb and two fingers, not three fingers. “There’s a town at the base of the mountain, maybe we can understand more about what’s happening down there than we can from up here. And it keeps us from having to do a dangerous infiltration of the Castle blindly.”

Sumire sighs. “Great, more colluding with the locals then?”

“Yes, more colluding with the locals,” you say. And with that, Rana and Anneliese come back, having set up camp once again. “We’re going into town, but not all of us. I want just me and someone else.”

“Oooh, I’d love to go then!” Rana grins happily. “I’ve always wanted to sample a bit of the small time home town feel of Germany! I hear it’s cozy!”

“Not really,” mutters Anneliese.

“Okay, Rana. I guess I can take a chance on you this time.”

“Yay!” Rana hops in the air, throwing her arms up. “I’ll go get my disguise!” She quickly hurries down the hill, leaving you, Anneliese, and Sumire alone. Hopefully Rana has been brushing up on her German.

“Truth be told, I am glad you are taking her and not me,” says Anneliese. “I am sorry to say, but it does pain me a little to visit my old home of Germany. Seeing the people suffer underneath fascist rule is… hurtful to say the least.” She frowns deeply, folding her arms as she gazes off into the distance.

You pat her arm, smiling. “Don’t worry, Anneliese. I won’t ask you to do anything I wouldn’t do. That’s not the way I do things here. While your experience here has been valuable, I won’t squander it on trivial stuff like this.” You look at Sumire, then motion to her tent. “Hey, let me change in your tent.”

She smirks, pulling your clothes close to her. “Need some help?” She quirks her brow. She runs her hand along her leg, sticking her tongue out a little as she looks up at you.

You look at Anneliese. “Give us a minute.” She tilts her head, confused. “Go on.” She nods slowly, a little weirded out as she heads down the hill. Sumire licks her lips, looking you up and down. “Get in the tent.” She scoots inside. You pick up the rest of your disguise and then crowd on into the tent with her.

A little help doesn’t hurt after all.

“Wow, it really took you a while to change into your clothes,” says Rana.

“Sumire’s slow,” you mutter.

The two of you approach the village of Nichtstadt. The road here seems well-paved. The town itself appears well taken care of as well. Perhaps Baroness von Streucker keeps the town cleaned and proper, you wouldn’t put it past her with that strange fear of being dirty from her. Still, people are out and around, on their daily business. The newspapers are all headlined with the news from Poland, the war continuing on as usual. A pair of old men sit outside a beer hall, playing chess even in the softly falling snow.

You sigh, looking around. You might be the slightest in over your head. As much work as you’ve done in stealth and guerrilla operations, you have little idea as to how resistance and rebel movements actually work. That’s a weakness you’ll need to grind out sooner rather than later. “Ooh, let’s go in there!” Rana says in German to you.

“Rana, that’s a beer hall, we’re too young,” you explain.

She grins happily. “Not in Germany! Come on!” She takes your hand and immediately pulls you in.

But no amount of warmth, no cozy atmosphere, nor beer could prepare you for this.

Inside was a huge group of German soldiers and officers. They all look over at you, surprised.

“Guten tag!” says Rana loudly. “Er uh… We’re here for drinks!” She slowly scoots you towards the only empty spot in the bar, between two German officers. You and Rana sit happily, waiting on your mugs. She grins, glancing from side to side. You can’t tell if she’s doing that because she’s nervous or because she’s genuinely enthusiastic about legally drinking beer. “Bartender! Two please!”

The bartender narrows his eyes, then pulls up two big mugs of frothing beer to you two. Rana happily takes a sip, then looks at the officers, whom are still staring at you. One of them, a Lieutenant asks you, “I do not believe I have seen you two before. Where do you come from?”

Kirby, please help.

Kirby says, “I am your earring. What do you want me to do, pierce their ears?”

“Oh, uh… we’re travelers, ja,” you mutter under your breath. Say it like you mean it darn it! They’ll spot you out like a farmer spots out a thread in a haystack. “We are just moving from Berlin down to Switzerland. Ja.”

“Hmph.” The Lieutenant takes a sip of his beer. “You best be careful then in this town. There is a rabble of communists who mean to overthrow the Baroness’ rule here in town.” He points to you and Rana. Rana simply drinks the beer, and you noticed that many of the Germans are ogling her as droplets start flowing out the side of the mug and onto her chest. Rana, please, why do you do this!? “You and your friend should be very careful indeed. Death for you two would be a mercy.”

You sigh, please don’t be communists.

Suddenly, the door into the beer hall flies open. All the German soldiers and officers immediately stand at attention, leaving the few civilians who remain to sit awkwardly and out of place. You and Rana look to the door to see just who entered. It was him, Baroness von Streucker’s husband. Lieutenant Zähne, the hulking soldier with a wolf-like mask. He’s backed up by two other soldiers, smaller but in relatively the same attire.

> Lieutenant Zähne <
> And his Wolfpack <

They step inside, their boots grinding and crashing against the wood as if they were tanks instead of men. The Officers on either side of you immediately stand aside, leaving you two to sit down, frozen by their mere presence. They tower over the two of you, softly growling as they look at the bartender.

Zähne grunts, holding up a paper to the bartender. He takes it, and looks over it from behind a pair of reading glasses. “N-… now hold on, Lieutenant. You can’t just seize my property! I’ve lived here for years, you know I would never harbor any-“ Zähne grabs him by the neck and slams him into the bar. “Agh! Please, please!” The normal soldiers all step back, slowly filing out of the beer hall. You and Rana sit silently, trying not to do anything that’ll draw anybody’s attention. “Please don’t kill me! Don’t kill me!” Zähne barks, snarling as he presses the bartender’s head further into the bar, almost crushing his skull. “Aaaah! She’s under the floorboard! She’s under the floorboard!” Zähne throws him against the shelves, showering him in beer and broken glass. The other soldiers immediately reach for the floorboard and rip it up.

Underneath the floorboard is a young girl, with tanned skin, and curly black hair and green eyes. She wears nothing but a figure hugging white dress, stained brown and grey from dirt and muck. She stares up at Zähne and his men. They immediately grab her, and she struggles, yelling and swearing at them. “Aaahh! Let me go you big dog! I’m not scared of you! Let- let me go!” Zähne throws a bag over her head, and she screams like a banshee as she’s thrown over his shoulder and carried out of the beer hall.

And once that’s done, nothing but silence.

With the bar pretty much devoid of all of the German soldiers and officer personnel, it was just you and the civilians. You and Rana lean over to the bartender. He groans in pain, some shards of glass cutting into his skin, sopping wet from the beer and the alcohol. Well, time to be good Samaritans you suppose. You and Rana hop on over, and help him up. “Agh, thank you.” He whimpers a little, wiping some tears out of her ears. “She came to me for help and I failed her!” He grabs an intact bottle of beer off the shelf. “Good thing I’m in a beer hall.”

You grab his arm before he starts sloshing himself. “Mister. Where are they taking her?”

He groans again, rubbing his head. “The girl told me that they are keeping girls and boys like her locked up in that castle. Some are there willingly, others not so. But… they are planning something for them. A breeding program,” he says. “She told me that she was forced to be checked over in anticipating of being used as a breeder. And that the collar she wore was…” He sighs. “Suppressing magical powers that she had.”

“Magical powers?” asks Rana. You slap her upside the head, and she quiets down.

“Ja, ja, she’s gone insane the poor thing.” The bartender sniffles a little. “They keep the young ones like her in that castle. Anyone who escapes is punished severely. And that’s not to mention the children they stole from us! And from other towns in Germany! Ah!” He knocks his head against the bar. “Ah, what have I done!?”

“It’s alright,” says Rana. “Nobody wants to die. Don’t blame yourself.”

“Agh…” He takes in a deep breath, wiping his eyes. “You know, the town resistance tried to stop this, but the Baroness slaughtered almost all of them months ago. They’re barely anything now.” He wipes his eyes again, his shoulders shaking a bit. “Y-… you girls should leave. The Baroness will come looking for you.”

“Where do we go?” you ask.

“Anywhere!” yells the bartender. “Just go!”

You and Rana step out of the bar. A few soldiers are still hanging out in the street, apparently not having heard your conversation inside. But the rest of gone away, probably returning to the Castle. You decide to continue on down the street.

When suddenly a Wolf Pack soldier comes around the corner. He takes a sniff of the air as he passes you two. Then stops. He looks back at you two, then takes another sniff. He snarls, stepping towards you two.

You and Rana stop in your tracks, and look at him as he closes in on you. A poor unfortunate soldier is passing by, and for him blocking his path the Wolf Pack soldier tosses him right into the street. The Wolf Pack soldier continues sniffing until he is right on top of you two, then hunches as he regards you two. “… can we help you?” you ask nervously. At least you didn’t stutter this time.

He growls, leaning over and taking a few sniffs of you from beneath his gasmask. He grabs your arm, and you almost instinctively whack him before Kirby stops you. “Don’t. I am trying my best to mask our magical presence. It is a difficult process for two however.” Oh, of course! That must be why they didn’t sniff you out earlier in the beer hall. He continues taking a few whiffs of you here and there, his loud snorting breath rumbling in your ears.

Then he moves onto Rana. He grabs Rana’s shoulders and sniffs all over her body. Around her neck, around her chest, and her legs, and her arms. Rana stands stiff as a statue, blushing intensely as the trooper snarls like a rabid dog. He shakes his shoulders, growling loudly as he grips onto Rana tighter. “Er-… um.” Rana blinks, trying to look calm. “C-… d… are you okay?” The soldier immediately grabs hold of Rana, then hefts her up over his shoulder. “Aahh! Wait! Stop, stop!” He starts making off with Rana. “Help!” Rana reaches out to you. “Help!”

That is until your shield whacks him in the back of the head sends the both of them into the snow. Some nearby German soldiers look over to see what’s going on. The big guy brushes Rana away, who quickly scoots around into hiding. They all see you, glowing as your clothes and your hair douse themselves into their magical forms. Your hair turns silvery white, your magical girl regalia reforms around your old clothes, and your shields form into great big glowing white stars. “I saw her first,” you say.

> MAGICAL GIRL LIBERTY! <

The Wolf Pack commands the panicked soldiers forward. They draw their rifles and SMGs and fire at you. But with some quick thinking, you bring up your shields and angle them. The shots crack and burst apart on your magical shields. Some even deflect. A few soldiers get hit by ricochets, falling over wounded or dead. One of them rushes at you, bayonet raised. You break cover and smash down his rifle. And in the next, you smash his face in and send him flying through a shop window. Another two try and grapple with you. Big mistake. You jump up and stomp on the foot of one, causing him to yell out in pain and recoil backwards. The other tries to grab you with his arms, only for you to bust his gut with a shield bash. He falls over. Probably broke every bone in his body.

The other soldier holds his leg, pointing his pistol at you. But before he can get a shot off, the Wolf Pack charges, picking him up and toss him at you. With a quick dodge to the left, the soldier flies right through a car window. You stand up quickly. The Wolf soldier barks, snarling loudly as he readies to fight you.

> MINOR SUCCESS

You spin up your shields, the sharp points screaming loudly. The Wolf Pack soldier steps around, trying to find an angle on you. He thinks you’re just content to wait for him to come to you. On the contrary, you’re going to bring the fight to him without taking a step forward. You smash your shields into the pavement. Rocks go shooting out from the points on the shield ripping them up. The Wolf Pack soldier is pelted and smacked around by the sharp pebbles and rocks.

And when he’s dazed, that’s when you got him. You rush forward. You only had him stunned for a few seconds, because the minute you close the distance he punches you square in the jaw. You shake your head, spitting some blood and spit from your mouth. You spin your shield again and smack him in the side. He grunts in pain, stepping back as he goes to punch you again. This time, he finds your shield.

And with a sickening crunch, he buckles, kneeling and holding his broken hand. You smack him again with the narrow end of your shield, knocking him back. He tries to get up and fight, but all that happens now is you grabbing him from behind. You lean over backward and smash him into the ground, snapping his neck and his spine. You jump up and flip over onto his corpse. “Whew, that was close,” you say to no one in particular.

> MAGICAL GIRL BOMBER! <

A few other soldiers run in fright as a pair of Magical Girls start wreaking havoc in the town. Bomber fires her Thompsons at the retreating Germans, but by now it’s probably too late. You’ve blown your cover and you’ve exposed yourselves to the Germans right here and now. They’ll know that Magical Girl Liberty and company are here. You can hear the sirens blare out all across town now. “I’m sorry,” says Bomber.

“Wasn’t your fault,” you say. “Now we gotta get out of dodge.”

I sure hope they don't instantly relocate.

So much for infiltrating the castle.
>>
>>44532787
It would have ended in violence anyway, All we're doing is speeding up the process.

>>44532837
But now the Baroness will find out DER AMERIKANER is on her mountain just outside her castle.
>>
>>44532897
But she doesn't know about our Fraulien and Onii-chan.
>>

>Onii-chan.
Pretty sure Sumire would be the imouto in this setup.
>>
>>44533613
In bed, Libby is the imouto.

She is the elder. In years if not maturity.

Besides, imagine how her head would explode if we called her Onii chan.
>>
>>44533680
But is she a screamer would be the important question.
>>
>>44533765
Libby does not scream except in the name of Liberty.
>>
>>44533744
I'm sure she would at least be mildly confused about being called older brother.
>>
>>44533788
So does that mean that Sumire gags Libby?
>>
>>44533865
well, fuck. I suppose I meant Onee chan. Fucking moonspeak.

“Come on, let’s go!” you yell. You and Bomber start running down the street. You can already hear the grinding roar of engines. Trucks probably filled with soldiers. You think you hear the squealing of a halftrack too. And then the grinding treads of a tank as well. Darn it, they’re really going to go all out to find you and Bomber. “Come on, come on, we gotta hurry”!

“Halt!” Some soldiers arrive around the corner, aiming their weapons at you. “In the name of-“ Bomber raises her guns and shoots them all down, mercilessly. They all fall over right after you just run past them. No time to stop and play. Another soldier runs into the street to try and stop you both. But this time you just clothesline him with your shield and keep on trucking. You can’t afford to stop for anybody! The road leading to the Mountain road is open! You’re almost home free!

Suddenly a halftrack drifts right in front of you, coming to a halt. Out of the back comes Lieutenant Zähne. He racks the bolt on a large anti-tank rifle and fires. In a split second you jump in front of Bomber, blowing you both back down the road. You and Bomber quickly pick yourselves back up. More Wolf Pack soldiers arrive, leaping and jumping over cars and buildings to get over to you.

Agh! This is not going right, none of this is going right!

Zähne charges at you, firing his AT Rifle at you again. He misses this time, but you find an opening around him. You and Bomber make a break for it, splitting up. His attention is drawn on Bomber. And for that, she responds with a blustering hail of bullets. They rebound and crack against his heavy metal plate armor, but it’s enough to stop him in his tracks. The two of you sprint onto the mountain road and the Wolf Pack stop as they rally around Zähne, their leader, their alpha. They growl at each other, and he yells in an indistinct angry noise, pointing towards the Mountains that you’re running up. They start running after you.

They’re slower, but dogs have endurance. And you can’t outrun them forever.

Well shit. Hopefully Zähne didn't manage to take the girl back to castle yet (probably not, considering the distance) and she takes the opportunity to escape... again. Other than that chance, seems our mission's a bust.

Unless we turn it around into a lightning (heh) raid on the castle, with wolves on our heels.
