Much time was spent in hyperspace dodging around the inner rim. You kept sure not to stay around one planet too long. You made sure that your way was subversive and relatively muddled to keep any pursuers guessing. That meant what should’ve been a couple days trip through a hyperspace lane turned into a week and a half of planet hopping until you made it to Coruscant. You hope Lotte has good patience at least. If she finds out you stood her up, well…

Well, Lotte was never one to let things go. The Wookiee thing for one thing.

You step into the machine shop, to find Misri hosing down her Starhawk with water after lathering it with soap and scrubbing out the grease. Of course, that just meant her tanktop and coveralls were just getting completely messy from the grit and the oil, but that certainly isn’t something you’ll complain about. She nods her head along to some music, playing over on her headphones. You step up to her, and then tap her shoulder. She looks over at you, and then pulls off her headphones.

The intense blast of music beats dropping causes you to flinch, but she simply smiles as if she were deaf. “Hey, Rhys!” she says.

“Turn down your music!” you yell. She reaches for her holopad, then hits the volume button. The music quietens down to manageable level. “Goodness, you’re going to blow out your ears listening to that!”

She cocks her head. You noticed in your travels with the blind girl that her cocking or tilting her head side to side pretty much indicated sarcasm at best. “Please, I’ve heard louder back home. Did you need something?”

You nod, rubbing at your ear frustrated. “How are the droids?”

“Managable. Lev’s working the turrets, I’ve been working with R3 on fixing up some targeting programming for him. We don’t have too many spare circuitry lying around I’m afraid,” she says. “But when we hit planetside, I’ll go out and buy my own, don’t worry about it.” You nod. Good, good, that one less money thing to worry about. “By the way, we are heading to Coruscant, right?” You nod again, folding your arms. “Um… isn’t that the Imperial Capi- wait, no. I’m sounding stupid aren’t I?”

“Yes.”

“Look. I don’t know what you and Lotte have with each other,” she says nervously. “But er… is it really a good idea to come back to Coruscant?”

“Rotta is my only ally in the underworld that can get us some buyers for these ingots,” you say. “Vikker refuses to lend me any other contacts otherwise, as a matter of me having to rely on him.” And for that, you do kind of hate it. But you can understand it. Once you gain more contacts, well, people start paying attention to you. The wrong kind of people too. “Now listen, just play it safe, alright? We’re here to cash the ingots, then we get out. No questions asked.” She twiddles at her fingers, whistling a little. “… what do you want?”

“I don’t suppose I could drop my share off at the brothel, right?” she asks. You narrow your eyes. “It’s just… I don’t know what the hell I’m going to do with 27 million credits worth of metal! I might as well give it to the people that… er… took care of me, you know?”

You sigh. Sentiment. Great.

"Not a good idea. You'll just put them in danger if you give them the ingots as-is. You saw how badly the Empire is on my tail; now imagine that kind of heat coming down on your brothel friend. We get the credits, THEN you can send them a bit via wire transfer. From a few planets away."

Not saying you can't give them a hell of an early life day present, but keep it managable for them. “Look, if we have time, yes. But listen, we can’t give it all to them at one time. And not until we’ve cashed it all.” She frowns a little, looking at the floor. “Look, I know you want to do right by people who did you right too, but this is a Galaxy where the poor take from the rich and make themselves poor again. You gotta think about yourself first, then you can start worrying about others. At least save something for a rainy day.”

She nods. “Alrighty.” She turns back to the Starhawk, sighing. “But hey, listen tough guy, just because it’s the smart thing to do doesn’t always mean it’s the right thing to do.”

“I’m not in the business of doing the right thing,” you respond. “We’re not Jedi and this ain’t a feel-good parade where we can pat ourselves on the back for doing a nice deed for somebody. You gotta consider the consequences of your actions, Misri.” She cocks her head back, then sighs, nodding again. “Good.” You look down, then blink. “Where’d you get that tattoo?”

It took you at least a few weeks until you noticed it seems. Misri pulls her tanktop up a bit, showing off the lower back tattoo right above her buttocks. It was a wizard looking thing, the top profile of a Starhawk adorned with lavishly detailed wings coming into a circle, almost resembling the Rebel Alliance Starbird. “Huh? Oh that? You know, I honestly don’t even remember.” She shrugs. “Why?” She smirks. “Want to see if I have a tattoo on my butt?”

And back to this again. Misri can switch gears fast at least. “No thanks. We’re landing soon, so get ready, alright?” She nods. And with that, you exit the machine shop. “Lev, find us a quiet port to land in,” you call over the communicator.

Coruscant is as busy and populous as ever. Getting through the Imperial Fleet wasn’t as tricky as you might think. There are millions of freighters moving in and out of Coruscant, hundreds more the same class as yours. With fake holo info to disguise your ship’s ID and registration, you were able to blend in quite easily. Hell, one customs ship even fasttracked you through because it was a rush day! Your luck is holding up you guess. With that, you land deeper into the city this time, not around the sprawling skyscrapers but more closer to ground level where the real infrastructure was. Just above the seedy undercity but just below the upper snooty high class. Just how you like it.

You, Vikker, Misri, and Kuvasz step down. “R5, R3, Lev, Sparks, you four are going to keep the ship for us until we get back.” Vikker taps your shoulder, looking at you. Oh, right. He wanted to talk to you. You nod, and the two of you step around the side of the ship as Kuvasz and Misri schmooze with the customs officers. “What is it, Vikker?”

He folds his arms, giving you a very stern fatherly look. “I’m taking my share and finding my own buyer.” You tilt your head. “I’m taking off is what’s happening.”

“Oh.” You blink. What? Where did this come from? “Why?”

He sighs. “Rhys, I’ve known you for years, I introduced you to the craft of smuggling and bounty hunting and treasure finding. I made you the man you are today. But I’m not sticking around for this sentimental ‘save the innocent and do good for goodness sake’ flott. I am here for me as much as I am for you. But wasting our time on people who won’t even appreciate what we do for them? That’s not me at all.”

You stand there, surprised, stunned even. You knew Vikker as a pretty honorable guy. Sure he had his moments of discord, but… This really does take it. “Is there anything I can do to convince you to stay?”

He stares at you, obviously awaiting a response.

“Vikker, you’re the one that taught me to never travel alone, buy an astromech at least to keep the ship warm,” you say. “It’s the reason I’m stuck with that wiseguy of a droid R5. So you really just want to run off on your own without help, is that it?”

He squints, cocking his head to the side. “Fair point,” he mutters after a few seconds of silence.

“And to further emphasize that point, Kuvasz’s personal stuff was personal, one time. I’m not in the business of helping for helping’s sake.” You place your hands on your hips, narrowing your eyes. “Now yeah, you can go find your buyer, I won’t mind. But Vikker, I really could use you as a helping hand. We work well together. What do you say?”

With a loud huff, he shakes his head, then looks at the floor. “Fine. I’ll humor you. I’ll stay aboard. But first, I’m going to find my buyer. You take Kuvasz and Misri, go find Rotta. I try and avoid deals with Hutts anyway, as nice as Rotta is. I’ll meet with him, then come back to the ship in about an hour or two.”

“Alright.” He nods, then steps to the edge of the platform and hails a cab. You sigh. You feel like you almost lost Vikker there. As somewhat idiotic he can be sometimes, that aqualish knows a thing or two about the criminal underworld. You need him if you want to keep up to date on things. And furthermore, he was there for you when no one else was after your expulsion. That alone keeps him in your good graces. You step over to Misri and Kuvasz. Customs appears to have cleared the lot of you for now. “Vikker’s splitting off from us, but he’ll meet up with us later. He’s finding a buyer for his own share.”

“He doesn’t trust Rotta?” asks Kuvasz.

“Smart people like him try not to let Hutts into their dealings if they have the choice,” you explain. “You’re coming with us, Kuvasz?”

“I might as well. Though I already spent my share bailing you out on Tatooine, I can at least be acquainted with the son of Jabba the Hutt.” You nod. Who wouldn’t want to meet Jabba’s estranged art dealer and collector and occasional information broker of a son? “I’m your hired blaster too, if that counts.”

“Fair.” You look to Misri. “You?”

She nods quickly. “I wasn’t properly introduced to him last time I was there, considering the Stormtrooper droids.” Also fair. “Is he nice?”

“Depends on your taste in art.” You flag down a cab, and a yellow speeder for the lot of you comes down. “Let me do the talking. Rotta’s pretty reasonable but again, Hutts. Don’t trust them if you can help it.”

Rotta’s Art Gallery appears to have recovered well from the damage sustained at the Gala. No visible blast marks as you step inside, no ray shields covering up the art, and nary a bit of scrap from destroyed droids. He’s got some good janitorial service at least. “Ugh!” You can hear Rotta yell out from one wing of the Gallery. “What- what is this!?” You step on down, Misri and Kuvasz following you, ready to flee or fight respectively.

But there you see Rotta, apparently in the midst of criticizing another young art student’s piece of work, which appears to be nothing more than pieces of rotting fruit floating about in some weird constellation. The art student desperately tries to convince Rotta of its supposed value. “D-… don’t you see!? It’s a statement on the rotting and festering squalor that the Core planets of the Galaxy are going through! The smells, the-“

“Guards!” yells Rotta. A pair of Droidekas pop out of the walls, then roll past you and towards the art. They immediately draw their blasters and fill the art full of holes. The art student cries out in grief and terror as his work of art is completely disintegrated by blaster shots. Once the dust settles, all that’s left is scorchmarks and ashes. “There, much better. Escort him out.” The shocked student is left to be escorted out by the droidekas. Rotta blinks, then gasps as he sees you. “Rhys! You’re…” He slithers on over to you, completely surprised. “My goodness, you’re alive!”

“I see you still have appreciate for modern art, Rotta,” you say.

He scoffs. “Ugh! Don’t remind me! But you’re really alive! I thought I dreamt that conversation we had earlier but here you stand now!” He grins, rubbing his hands together. “So… you tell me you need uh, help, correct?”

You nod. “Got some metal that needs to be pressed. Can you do it?”

“Oh, well, let me uh… quickly contact some people. Uh-“ He whistles, and another droideka arrives. This one is much larger than the others. And by the black coloration and the distinctive triangular photoreceptor instead of eye stalks indicates it as a Droideka Oppressor. New model, very deadly. You wonder how Rotta paid for this one. “The DO will escort you upstairs to the living quarters, feel free to make yourselves at home while I make contact with some people.” Rotta smiles happily. “Of course, you and me could catch up first if you’d like.”

> “We can catch up. It’s been a while.”

“Sure we can catch up.” You motion Misri and Kuvasz over. “Rotta, you know Misri.” Rotta smiles at Misri, shaking her hand. “And Rotta, this is Kuvasz of Clan Skirata.”

Kuvasz offers his hand. “Nice to meet you.”

Rotta shakes it as well, squinting at Kuvasz. “Likewise. Your armor looks quite old, very old in fact. Circa 2,653 before the Ruusan Reformation?”

“Oh?” Kuvasz smirks a bit. “You have a good eye. This armor was worn by my ancestors around the time of the Sacking of Coruscant. Not exactly how it might’ve looked then, but the beskar that holds it together is as strong as the day it was forged.”

“Clearly!” Rotta smiles happily. “Beskar is quite hardy when taken care of properly.” Kuvasz nods, then nods to you, approving quite well of Rotta. “It’s why Basilisk war droids are still around, if not functional. But let’s not go too much into the history of the Mandalorians. Er… Misri. It seems you have changed a bit from the last time I saw you.”

“Yeah, from one night stand to full time crew on Rhys’ ship,” she says. Rotta chuckles, leading you all over to another wing of the gallery. This time to the art created during the Clone Wars, recent but not exactly modern. “So, I hear you’re the son of Jabba the Hutt.”

“That is correct…” Rotta sighs sadly, rubbing his many chins. “My father simply doesn’t appreciate the emotional impact that a good piece of art can have on a person! Such as this, come here!” He leads on you over to a glass case, containing a pile of ashes. And in that pile of ashes lay the pieces of armor for a Clone trooper. “This is the armor of a Clone trooper who was killed by a defoliator on Jabiim. The ashes of course aren’t original, but the armor is. The artist was a young man who was raised there, and saw the horrors of war with his own eyes. Now unlike modern art, this one well and true speaks the horror of war that the Clones had to go through.”

“The children of Jango Fett certainly did not have it their way,” says Kuvasz. You withhold comment. Rotta already knows your opinion on Clones.

“Whoa!” Misri looks at a mural, apparently depicting another battle between Clones and droids, this time on Geonosis. The Clones are painted in a style recalling the heroic Republic troopers of the Old Republic, while the droids skeletal natures are emphasized to make them look more like monsters. The Geonosians as well are heavily stereotyped into more buglike shapes, some even having six limbs instead of four as normal. “What’s this?”

“The Battle of Geonosis!” says Rotta happily. “I’m surprised you can see it, Misri.” You give Misri a stern glare, and she immediately looks down, pursing her lips. “But yes, this piece was drawn as a propaganda work. its original place was in fact inside one of the major tram hubs on Corellia before I had it moved back here to Coruscant. Notice the detailing on the Clone troopers, each one took several hours to paint and draw for the artist. And in this mural alone, there are two hundred Clone troopers!”

“Whoa.” Misri stares in awe at it again.

“Art at its finest.” Rotta shakes his head, grumbling. “There is no more dedication to this craft like there used to be. Now it’s all expressionist! Abstraction! Finding garbage and taking meaning out of it, then making meaning for yourself! This- this is one of the last great works of art left!” Rotta sighs happily. “My word.” Ugh, more Cloner stuff. “Rhys, what do you think of it?”

“He certainly made use of color despite the limited color palette. I like the shining white on the Clone trooper’s armors, I like how the desert sand doesn’t look boring. And the red sunset?” You grunt. “Beautiful.”

“I agree!” His stomach growls a little. “Ah, but first, I think it is uh… time for dinner. Rhys, come join me!” You nod, following Rotta to the elevator. There were stairs yes, but the elevator was for Rotta purely. “So… er. I heard things about Lotte.”

“What things?” you ask.

> “What is there to talk about?”

Rotta sighs, rubbing at his chins again as you step onto the large elevator. Big enough for freight, but considering you have a Hutt here, it might be a little undersized. “I suppose I can understand if you don’t want to talk about it. It always stings the most when it’s family that hurts you.”

“Well, thank you, Rotta. It’s nice that you care,” you mutter.

“Yes, yes. But er… well, you needn’t worry about Imperial activities here.” The elevator stops on the second floor of the gallery, where Rotta has made a home for himself and for people that he likes in particular. The five of you move on, with the Droideka Oppressor following behind closely. “Why, I’ve bribed the local garrison, kept Imperial Officers sated with sales of exotic arts and such. And if Lotte is as you say, there is simply no way she’d come around here.”

Misri rubs her stomach, mumbling. “I’m hungry too. Did you make plenty for us?”

“Oh, yes of course, of course,” says Rotta. “My droids are fine chefs.” Rotta pats your arm again, smiling, this time a bit more forced. “You needn’t worry about Lotte coming here to find you.” The five of you arrive at the door to his dining, then his hits the button opening the door.

The door slides open, revealing a group of motley looking thugs inside. At the end of the table was someone you thought you’d never see again in your life. A Twi’lek woman underneath a black mask and black Mandalorian armor. Her Lekku stick out of the helmet and curl right back into her pack. She stands up and draws her blaster. The other thugs and draw their own weapons as well.

You and Kuvasz turn around, to see four more thugs step out around the corners and rooms to box you all in.

And to seal the deal, the Oppressor turns his weapons on you, buzzing loudly.

How could he? You look to Rotta. Pure heartbreak creases across his face. “They arrived before you did. They threatened to kill me and burn the Gallery to the ground! I had no choice!”

The Twi’lek inhales loudly, adjusting a knob on her mask. “Rhys Cykgil.”

You turn around again. “Black Swan.”

> The Black Swan <
> The Mysterious Bounty Hunter of the Core Worlds <

You hold out your arms, smirking. “You’re as beautiful and…” You look her up and down. Certainly as stacked since you last saw her. “Lovely as the day I shot you down.”

“I see you’re still a smartass,” she says. She coughs gently, again adjusting her mask a little. “A little birdy told us of a bounty on your head. Told us we could go to this guy for help.” She points to Rotta, whom guilty looks at the ground in fear. “Cuff them.”

Kuvasz places his hand down on his holster. “You won’t have me without a fight!” The Bounty Hunters immediately point their blasters at him, ready to turn him into a piece of modern art. Nine Bounty Hunters and a Droideka.

> Draw your own blaster. You’re not going down like this.

You pull your DC-17 out of the holster and blast the Droideka before it has a chance to activate its shields. The bolt goes right through the photoreceptor, and it collapses in a pile of scrap and circuitry. You crouch down, allowing Kuvasz a free shot on the reacting Bounty Hunters. They all duck down and kick down their chairs and hide behind columns for cover. Not Black Swan though.

She charges Kuvasz, flipping out a pair of vibroblades on her arms, the same ones Clone assassins used to use during the Clone Wars. Kuvasz fires a shot at her, and the shot connects with her chest. But she continues forth, and pounces on him. He grabs the blades with his heavy Mandalorian gauntlets, getting forced out of the dining room into the hallway. “Misri!” You yell to her, taking cover behind a column. “Stay down!” She nods, duck beneath the table in the dining room, waiting for the action to die down. A bounty hunter fires a stun shot at you. But with your quick reflexes you let it soak up against a wall that you hide behind. You and Kuvasz stay out in the hall, with Rotta trying to make himself small to dodge the incoming blaster fire.

Kuvasz and Black Swan continue wrestling with each other, an old man and a crippled Twi’lek. What a match up. He shoves her against a wall, grimacing as he ferociously grabs her neck and slams her head against the wall again. But this allows a free slash on his arm, which finds a gap between the armor plates. He yells in pain, recoiling as he throws Black Swan to the ground. Another bounty hunter, a squirrely looking Trandoshan, tackles Kuvasz and slams him into the wall. The two furiously fight with each other.

[1/3]
>>
>>44507468
[2/3]

Then the Trandoshan’s Wookiee partner gets in on the action. He roars, tackling the two down to the ground and smashing them down. You can’t keep track of that though, you have to think for yourself now. You pull out a plasma grenade from your jacket and get it ready. “Misri! Get out!” She immediately slides out, crawling around towards you and hiding behind you. You toss it inside.

“It’s a grenade!” yells a Bounty Hunter. They all duck down, and a burst of plasma flies out of the room accompanied by specks of food and wood shrapnel. No time to check if they’re all dead. You turn around and aim your DC-17 at the Wookiee, the Trando, and Kuvasz piled up on the ground wrestling with each other. You’re about to get a lock, when you’re blasted back.

The only thing saving you then was your energy shield. You cough, dazed and stunned by the sudden lethality of the shot. At least you’re not hurt but you can’t say the same for the energy shield. A Selkath Bounty Hunter growls, holding a heavy blaster pistol in his hands. Black Swan as well comes by, accompanied by an assassin droid garbed up in robes and wrappings. The Wookiee and the Trando finally manage to restrain a fighting and furious Kuvasz. “Give up,” says Black Swan. “We’re not here to kill you.”
>>
>>44507492
[3/3]

“Could’ve fooled me,” you say as you come to a kneel. “Gotta say Blackie, it’s a real show of respect when you arrive with a whole posse of guys. Shows that you really think highly of me. Too bad I about killed half of them.”

The Selkath grunts. “I’ll juzt eat their bodiez. Wazte not want not.” Black Swan slaps him upside the head, and he growls, frothing at the mouth.

Black Swan turns his heavy blaster pistol’s barrel towards you. You can see the glare beneath the mask’s visor. You probably caught her on a bad day. “Now, Lotte wants you alive. Give up or we kill the old man and the Hutt.” The Assassin droid draws a blaster on Rotta, and he yelps in fright, raising his hands. Misri curiously pokes her head out from behind a column. Black Swan immediately draws her gun on her. “Her too.”

Technically speaking the Bounty isn't actually active. Lotte simply cut a deal with some Bounty Hunters that knew you personally and basically gave them an exclusive on hunting you down first before anybody else.

She also relayed to them that your best contact in cashing ingots would most likely be Rotta on Coruscant. Technically speaking, Lotte is waiting on you coming to her either willingly or otherwise.

“Okay, okay,” you say. “I give. Let me just grab something out of my jacket.” You pull on your jacket. And with a loud plink, a plasma grenade rolls out and onto the ground. It starts beeping.

“Grenade!” yells Black Swan. All of the Bounty Hunters jump into rooms to duck away. Rotta screams, slithering as fast as he can to the elevator. You grab Misri and Kuvasz off the ground and run past him. He screams in fright as he finally manages to get on. You and Kuvasz hurry and slam the doors shut.

Misri blinks, holding onto you for dear life. “Why isn’t it exploding?”

“Because the safety’s on,” you say. You quickly jam the button for the ground floor. Rotta desperately gasps, trying to calm himself down. A very angry Kuvasz draws his good weapon and shoves it in Rotta’s mouth. “Kuvasz!”

“This slug betrayed us!” yells Kuvasz.

Rotta shakes his head, flailing his hands. “They would’ve killed me! They would’ve destroyed me art! I couldn’t say no!” He cries, holding his hands over his eyes. “Please don’t kill me!” Kuvasz slowly withdraws his weapon, shaking his head and walking back. “Rhys, I’m so sorry! I couldn’t say no!”

Comfortingly, you set your hands on your Rotta’s shoulder. “Rotta, it’s your time to shine, do we have a way out?”

He nods. “My speeder is parked out back!”

“They’ll be looking for ships matching our class,” says Kuvasz. “And they’ll notify the authorities. The Crusaders’ blockade was one thing, but with an entire Imperial Fleet in orbit, we won’t be able to escape too easily. We’re going to need a place to avoid the heat and stash the ingots. Maybe Vikker can help us.”

You nod, trying to reach him. Static. “Damn it, the signal’s jammed.” Okay. It’s been a couple of hours though, Vikker is probably at the ship already. But, should you really risk running a blockade or just bury the ship deeper into Coruscant until the heat dies down? There are thousands of Barlozs out after all, odds are one of them might look like yours and they’ll get duped.

“We barely escaped one blockade, I’m not risking another. We’ll get back to the ship and get it into the undercity.”

Once the elevator reaches ground level, the lot of you quickly run out and speed towards the backdoor. You could hear the Bounty Hunters storming down the stairs after you, apparently having figured out the plasma grenade was a dud. Suddenly, stun bolts were flying past you, whacking the walls and splitting their air with their distinct warbling screech. Kuvasz charges through the wooden security door, allowing the rest of you to storm down into the parking lot, and get into Rotta’s personal speeder. You drop a plasma grenade into the engine block of a parked speeder, then grab the wheel on yours. Kuvasz grabs onto the back, pulling his pistol out and blasting at the Bounty Hunters as they come through the door. They take cover behind columns and rubbish bins, buying you even more time.

You rush out of the area. Behind you, the speeders explode, giving you even more time.

-

-

Vikker sits next to you in the co-pilot’s seat. Misri and Kuvasz stand behind you. Rotta sits off to the side with Lev, R3, and R5. “So. Let me get this straight. Rotta betrayed us, but we’re taking him with us anyway. And not only that, we have bounty hunters on an exclusive with you hunting you down. And it’s likely that the Empire will also try to keep us from leaving Coruscant as well. Is that what’s happening?”

You look over at him. “… when you say it like that, you make me sound stupid.”

[1/3]

[2/3]

“Well…” Misri shrugs. You roll your eyes. “There, just like last time.” You sigh. This was the one place in the Undercity that you knew for sure was a good hiding spot. Why? Because it was Misri’s old home, the Brothel. She smiles happily as you set the Freighter down in the lot. You’re going to have to bribe some local hobos to cover it up with tarps and debris to keep it even more on the downlow. “Don’t worry, Madam Horch is real nice, she’ll accommodate all of you for as long as possible!”

All of you step down the boarding ramp, to see Madam Horch herself accompanied by several of her prostitutes. Togrutas, Twi’leks, humans, Rodians, the works. Madam Horch herself was a blue-skinned Pantoran, wearing the finest thick but figure hugging regalia a Pantoran could afford here in the Undercity. She looks at you with some air of confusion and contempt. “Misri. Last time we saw you, you said you were never coming back.”

Misri grins, crossing her arms. “Guess I spoke too soon. Er. Madam Horch.” She motions to you all. “My friends. Friends, Madam Horch.”

You smile, walking up to her. “Charmed.”

She quirks her brow. “Why are you here?”

“We need a place to stay for the heat to die down,” says Misri. “Can we stay here?”

“Of course,” says Madam Horch. “You are always welcome here. We’ll hide your ship for you underneath some tarps. But your friends will have to stay with you in the garage like usual.”

The garage!?

Misri jumps onto her bed, and it rocks and bounces as she comes to a relaxed position. Everyone has already made themselves at home. Rotta is panic eating, raiding Misri’s crate of insta-rations. Kuvasz is kicking back on a chair, checking over his blaster pistol. Vikker is leaning on the salvaged wreck of a speeder bike, glaring at you. And the droids are well…

“Hey. Stop that.” Lev tries desperately to break up Sparks and R3, who are apparently coming to blows with one another. “As your superior, I order you to-“ Sparks knocks over Lev. “Ow.”

R5 rolls on over to you. “Sir. How long do you think we will be staying?”

“Not sure,” you say. “Be keep alert.” He nods, rolling back to the ship.

“Isn’t this great?” Misri says. She points to one of her podracing posters. “I knew it was worth it to have this place cleaned up before I left! It’s almost like getting my own room for the first time again!” She pulls up her blanket and wraps it around her shoulders. “So…” She looks around at everyone, and immediately you feel her spirits be sapped of happiness when she sees that not everyone is very happy. “Um. What’s the plan?”

“We find a place to turn the ingots into credits.” You look over at Vikker. “Vikker, you got a guy that can turn our shares into credits?”

“Oh, yes, yes!” Rotta drops a bit of insta-rash rash, then picks up a canteen of water and spills it down his throat. He burps loudly as the dehydrated food starts rehydrating in his stomach. “Ooooh!” He tosses the canteen away then slithers over to you. “I do have contacts. I am not lying to you. I know people that can turn the ingots into credits. But… well, it will take a while to actually press them into credits and even then…” He sighs. “They’re not exactly reliable people, it could take weeks, it could take months before you see a single credit!”

You sigh. “That’s something I’m willing to risk. Who are your guys?”

“Well… I have a Senator on Alderaan, likes to build things out of Aurodium. There’s another guy on Lothal, and someone on Kuat as well. If you give me the ingots, I can have them smuggled offworld.” He smiles. “For free of course. Considering er… you know, circumstances.”

If we try to shop around too much, we'll get jumped by bounty hunters or they might turn us in themselves.

> “I’ll take it.”

“I’ll take it,” you say. “Are you sure these people can be trusted though?”

He nods, waving his hands happily. “I tell you, if these people could not be trusted, I would not even offer!” He holds his hands together, looking at you pleadingly. “Let me make this up to you! I will get these ingots cashed! I promise you that much! I’ll hire a smuggler, get these things offworld, and we will keep in constant contact with you.”

“Alright.” You nod. “Fair enough. I’ll trust you.” He smiles happily, then starts slithering away to the ship. “Have R5 and Lev get our shares together, contact me when they’re offworld.” He calls out an affirmative happily. You hope he’s not in over his head. He’s a Hutt, but he’s also way too nice for a Hutt. Maybe if you’re lucky that’ll unnerve anybody that wants to do business with him. It’s always the intense paranoia that gets people.

Vikker stands up. “Right, what do we do then? We don’t have a lot of actual cash on us you realize that right?”

“I’m aware,” you say. “Before we leave Coruscant, I think it’s best if we find a way to make some credits first, maybe even find a way to upgrade the ship too. I can probably get us in contact with Jennis again, bring her over.”

“The Zygerrian?” asks Kuvasz.

“Yes, her.” You sigh, placing your hands on your hips. “She’s currently our most reliable dealer right now. And if she has something we want, it’ll hopefully be at reasonable price. We got to consider the reality of the situation, we’re stuck here and we will be stuck here for a while.” Everyone glances away, nervously, angrily, or otherwise. “Kuvasz. You have any friends here we can talk to about making any money?”

He tilts his head. “What, like Bounty Hunting?” You nod. “Well… not really, no.”

Misri raises her hand. “I-… I have an idea.” You all look at her. “Well, you all know I was a racer, right? Well…” She twiddles her fingers, smirking nervously. “Before Rhys took me in, I was trying to make some really really big money on an underground circuit. Some real illegal racing stuff, you can only find it in the Undercity. No holocams, no refs, no regulations, nothing. But if you win in it, you can win some big money.”

You blink. “It’s podracing, isn’t it?”

She nods. “There’s an underground podracing circuit deeper in the city. I-… I was trying to build a podracer but I couldn’t scrape together the funds. Maybe we could hire ourselves out as pilots.”

Hm. Either bounty hunting or podracing.

The race organizer squints at you and Misri. Vikker and Kuvasz elected to stay outside his office while the negotiations took place. “Hmm…” He was a diminutive Trandoshan, but what he lacked in size he made up for in fat. He scratched at his rough skin, the scent of cigarra leaves filling the office. Behind him through the window you could see the vehicle bay where podracers were set up for maintenance, parking, and modification. “So, I have myself the famous Blind Bandit of the amateur swoop circuits, and I have Rhys Cykgil, an apparently former Imperial Privateer now on the run. You realize there’s a bounty on your head for 50,000 credits from the Rebels, right?”

You squint, staring at him. “You’re not going to try and claim it, are you?”

“On the contrary.” He snaps his claws, grinning with missing teeth and mottled gums. “I have me the two best racers in the galaxy right in my office!” He slams his hands on the desk, causing you two to flinch. “You could make me a lot of money! You two ever podrace?” You both shake your heads. “Well, let me be blunt, it’s not for the faint of heart. Everything you know in Swoop racing?” He whistles dismissvely. “Forget it, done, gonzo. You can kiss the amateurs circuits where you have a whole track set out with little hazards and obstacles goodbye. Here, everything is trying to kill you! Hahaha!” He slaps his belly, looking up at you two. “… I can see you two aren’t impressed.”

“Look, we just need money. We’re not interested in buying any podracers or being some sponsored advertising on the blue milk cartons,” you explain. “Flat out. Do you have money?”

“I have 20,000 credits for the person who can score within the top three and knock down any of the usual regs down below,” he says. “With a bonus 20,000 again for scoring in first place. Now, it is only a fraction of the winnings, but everything goes to me of course. You are being paid your fair share however.”

“Great,” says Misri. “So when do we start?”

“There’s a race tomorrow, I can have you registered-“ He snaps his claws. “Quick as that. Though there is only one slot left to spare so er, go ahead and decide amongst yourselves.”

“Misri here will race for me. She’s got the experience and while she may be blind, she’s no slouch behind a stick.” She looks up at you, beaming in pride that you’re letting her race. “Got that?”

He nods, turning on his holocomputer. “I’ll have her registered under an alias to ward off the Bounty Hunters. You’ll be provided one of our spares that we salvaged from an unfortunate that tried to take a turn underneath a Streetsweeper. Let’s just say the streets had a red shine to them for weeks.” Yuck. Misri however doesn’t seem perturbed by it. “Come here, girly.” Misri nods, stepping forward and leaning over the desk for him. “Right, first thing’s first. Nobody is going to know you’re blind. Wear some thick goggles, never take them off. Secondly, you are no longer Misri Beryl or the Blind Bandit. You are now the Mysterious Stranger!”

“The Mysterious Stranger?” you say. That is the most ridiculous nickname you’ve ever heard.

“I love it!” says Misri as she bounces on the desk a little. “D- Do I get like to wear a mask or something!? Can I wear like one of those big long coats and maybe like uh…” She turns to you, and sees that you’re not exactly approving of it. “Oh come on, Rhys! It’ll be fun!” She gently punches your arm, grinning. “Think about it, on a pale gleaming podracer comes in the Mysterious Stranger! What is her name!? Where does she come from!? Nobody knows!”

The organizer smiles proudly. “She loves it.”

“I don’t, but I won’t argue,” you say. “So where’s our podracer?”

“This hunk of junk!?” Lying on the ground, not hung up by harnesses or anything, was the sorriest looking pile of junk you have ever seen. Even Misri looked absolutely disgusted. Are those Radon-Ulzer 620C Engines? Those things are ancient! And those air scoops look like they’ve been catching all kinds of smog and dust! Where did you pick this thing up!?”

The organizer shrugs. “Some scrapyard on Tatooine. Sebulba himself used it you know!”

“Yeah, but Sebulba’s frakking old!” says Misri. “Ugh, it’s going to take me all night to get this thing into racing shape!”

“Not my problem,” says the organizer. “Take care, the two of you. Be here at…” He checks his watch. “Sunrise. We have our races at night, but we want to go over the route for the day, get some last meals in us.” He grins. “I got plenty of last ones in me, hehe!” He waddles off, trailed by an astromech droid.

Misri sighs. “You can go on and help me fix the race. I gotta work on this,” she says. You nod. Fair enough, might as well scope out the competition. Misri walks over to the podracer, then starts organizing the scrap from the junk. You’ll send R5 and Lev down to help her in just a bit, but right you had to look over at the competition. Unfortunately, podracing being the sport it is, everyone seems to have armed guards watching over their racers. Droids, actual bodyguards, one even has an old B3 Ultra battle droid guarding it. Now that’s security.

You sigh, shoving your hands in your pockets. What to do.

“Hey. You.” You blink, then turn around to see a man in evil looking red armor. “Rhys Cykgil?”

The hell? You tilt your head. “Who wants to know?”

He steps up to you, and finds that he towers over you completely. Maybe even over Kuvasz too if he were here. Damn it, why did those two get hungry at the worst time. “Tyber Zann sends his regards.” He hands you a holopad. “He wishes to hire your services. Contact him over this holopad then scrap it. > Contact him immediately. You might as well see what he wants.

You step around to a more secluded area behind some crates and lockers. You turn on the holopad, and out of it comes a floating image of the Zann Consortium sigil. “Rhys Cykgil. You contacted me immediately, that’s actually a surprise.” The voice that comes over is distorted, ostensibly to hide his identity. Smart you suppose. Nobody has ever actually seen Tyber Zann. Rumor is he doesn’t even exist. Other rumors are that he’s actually a droid. But right now, you’re talking with the real deal. “You must be desperate.”

“Not desperate, curious.” You look back and around the bay to make sure no one is listening in. “What do you want, Tyber? You’re smalltime, you can’t afford me. You especially shouldn’t be wanting to afford me after I nixed your scheme to get those Missile Boat schematics.”

“Actually, you also nixed my chance at securing the RAS Bailiff treasure.” You stare at the screen. Oh. “Those Commando droids? They were mine. And you just let the Empire step right over you and take all the treasure to buy some lousy Star Destroyers and TIE Fighters. You know, defending everything is no way to defend anything. It’s wasted cash all around. I should know, you and me happen to be Imperial Academy alumni.”

You sigh. Great, you and the smalltime wannabe have something in common. “What do you want, Tyber?”

“I’m willing to forgive you of your crimes, I consider myself a patient man. You are just working for money. Everyone has their price after all.” Damn he sounds so smug when he says that. You can just imagine him as some fat bastard on the other end of a holocomputer, munching on cookies, balding in the head, yelling at his mother to get him more gizka to eat. Disgusting. “The Bailiff treasure? Replaceable, there’s cash to be made anywhere else. The Missile Boat? I can just buy some for the price of bribing a few guards to let my pilots steal the prototypes under the Empire’s nose. But there is something I want that credits can’t buy. Tell me, Rhys, how good is your history?”

“Good,” you state. “Get to the point.”

“All business, I like that. You see, before the Clone Wars, the Republic built a Fleet.” Oh, for the love of… he’s not really thinking of it is he? “Advanced for its time, a huge force of Dreadnaught heavy cruisers, disappearing into the void of space never to be seen again. Anyone who finds the Fleet however in this day and age, could become a major player in the Galaxy. The Rebels already have people looking for it, the Empire has people looking for it too. I want someone looking for it as well.”

He can’t be serious. “Tyber. The Katana Fleet is a myth. There’s no huge fleet of ships lying around in space somewhere. All of it has probably crashed into somewhere and we’re just making the boneheaded decision to think it’s still floating out there for people to use. And even if it did exist and even if I knew where to find it, why would I give it to you?”

“Like I said, every man has his price. I’m told you’re good at finding things. And I’m also told you’re sitting on a few dozen ingots of Aurodium. What if I were to tell you that I could cash all of those ingots for you, at market value? One million each?”

“I’d tell you you’re a frakking Jedi and turn you over to the authorities,” you state. “No one has that much cash.”

Right now, you have one watching you from behind a podracer, another has replaced the security camera guard, one is disguised as a mechanic, and another pair are watching you from afar by speeder.” Wow. Real frakking intimidating. “We are far reaching. I will cash the ingots for you after you find the Fleet. And to get you started, 100,000 credits, that is if you want to take the job.”

“And if I don’t?” you ask.

“Then I let you keep running from the Empire and the Rebel Alliance, and eventually the Hutt Cartels, the Black Sun, you don’t have a way of making many friends. Consider what I’ve said. I’ll have a Defiler upload my details to your holopad later.” The holopad shuts off. You drop it down and smash it to the ground. Cashing all of your ingots in one go? At full price? What a bunch of nonsense. And that’s not even getting into thinking the Katana Fleet exists! What a load of…

You sigh. Then again, 100,000 credits just for taking a job. And for somebody as smalltime as Tyber? You look around.

She's been trying to fix R3's targeting programming, and so far she hasn't succeeded due to lack of circuitry which she probably pick up or steal from other podracers later.

Other than that, there hasn't been any new modifications to anything. Rhys hasn't called for it and Misri is reluctant to touch anything she isn't supposed to. Though occasionally when Rhys is asleep, she gets into the cockpit of the R-22 and pretends she's flying in a dogfight.

The Bounty Hunters at this point have most likely contacted Lotte that you have escaped. So not only is the deadline no longer a thing, but Lotte is probably on her way to arrest you personally.

1. She feels personally responsible for your fall from grace with the Empire, and genuinely wants to see you return to the Imperial Military where you can serve with distinction. She's not going about it in the best way, but her intentions are mostly for your sake.

2. Four. Well, three technically, one of them was a droid.

3. Black Swan and Rhys' history goes back to Rhys' smuggling days. Rhys was transporting a valuable artifact from Dantooine to Muunilinst. Rhys and Black Swan actually met over a few drinks in a rest station on the hyperspace lane, traded some stories, ended up sleeping with each other, the whole nine yards.

Then it turns out Rhys was transporting the artifact Black Swan is after. When Rhys left, Black Swan followed along with her crew of pilots flying old N-1 fighters and her personal ship, a J-Type Diplomatic barge converted into a fighter carrier. She attacked and tried to claim it for herself.

Rhys being Rhys proceeded to slaughter them all. She left Black Swan floating in her crippled N-1, which is why she wears the mask today.

>J-Type Diplomatic barge
And how many of these bounty hunters did Lotte give first dibs?

But Ryhs was using a T.I.E. Scout? How did they manage to do it in that tiny thing, hell how did she not notice the cargo sooner since it's so cramp in there?

and Rhys beat a bunch of N-1 fighters in a T.i.e scout?
>>
>>44513930
Rhys is probably the single best pilot barring Vader/Skywalker shenanigans in the galaxy.

Probably as good, if not better than Han.

1. That'll be something to tell her when you come face to face with her again.

>>44513930
2. Just the nine or so that you encountered. Rhys actually to a certain extent knows some of them, which is why Lotte contacted them personally.

3. He's a damn good pilot. >>44513964
>>
I still regret us not using the connections at Kuat before we had the bounty on our head. So many interesting ships, so many upgrades.
>>
>>44513993
but people wanted to do the treasure now instead of finishing the bounty and dark saber.

>>44513977
Well why is black swan blaming him? I mean I imagine Rhys gave her fair warning.
>>
>>44514099
Rhys was pounced on by Black Swan, he didn't actually give her any warnings. Plus, who exactly would believe that a TIE Scout would win against four N-1 Starfighters and a J-Type Barge and win? Black Swan thought she had it handled.

Blackie is more mad that Rhys left her for dead.
>>
>>44514144
And not like the rest of her crew which was also dead?

She thought she had it handled and it backfired on her. I mean didn't she properly listen to his stories?
>>
>>44514144
>left her for dead.

Left her alive, more like.

He could very easily have turned around and spaced her. But he left her adrift, with a chance of survival.
>>
>>44513977
Again, if she's coming to arrest us won't that mess with the order of the fleet over corscant?
>>
>>44514171
To be fair to Black Swan, talking to Rhys she actually had him pegged as an idiot, a charming idiot but an idiot no less. Are you seriously going to think that a guy who got expelled from Flight School and makes boisterous claims about his supposed exploits in flight while now stuck doing menial work flying around in a TIE Scout and getting drunk is going to wreck her?

As for the rest of the crew, Black Swan is also pretty mad about that.
>>
>>44514171
>>44514174
He left her drifting in space in a damaged barge likely leaking air and shredded engines.

The Russian Navy set a group of pirates adrift in open sea on a raft with no motor, no rations, and no navigational tools, instead of executing them; no one called that a mercy.
>>
>>44514254
>comparing Star Wars, and, more importantly, advanced on-board ship distress beacons to real-life pirates on a shitty raft with absolutely nothing. And thinking it's a fair comparison

Really now?
>>
>>44514279
Well to be fair, Black Swan didn't need to wear an uncomfortable life support mask before the encounter.

She's still as lovely, curvy, and stacked as the day they met though.
>>
>>44514243
true but she would have killed him as well with that stunt so she can't judge.

But I think i'm bias towards Ryhs on this point.

>>44514254
Fair enough
>>
>>44514322
Still breathing. Even if with a facially mounted iron-lung.

We should show her she's still just as pretty in our eyes
>>
>>44514355
She's not going to fall for that again, anon.
>>
>>44514416
How did she fall the first time? I mean Rhys wasn't lying when they talked and probably Rhys does think that.
>>
>>44514450
Like I said, Rhys came across as a very charming idiot. Black Swan just decided to oblige him that particular night.
>>
>>44514471
So on a whim?

So i'm guessing Lotte's pissed for being stood up? Though is she wondering why Rhys did it?

1. Basically.

2. Lotte knows exactly why you might've stood her up, and that's because you're carrying a lot of Aurodium that needs to be cashed, and your only real contact that can get that done is Rotta. Hence why you're in this situation in the first place.
>>
>>44514534

fuck.
>>
>>44514534
and she has no awareness about we went to cash it in the first place does she?
>>
>>44514568
1. The best.

>>44514577
2. She knows perfectly well that the ingots are basically useless to you if you can't put them into credits. It's why she suspected you wouldn't even show up to meet her in the first place. That and because she also knows that she's not your most favorite girl in the world.
>>
>>44514613
>Leia

>still would
>>
>>44514613
All of them using lightsabers....The hell? I thought you needed to be skilled at least with a virboblade to use those.

And isn''t she aware she's making it worse by sicking bounty hunters on him? By releasing the bounty early?
>>
>>44514634
Despite what Schteel will tell you, Lotte is a fucking idiot, and only does anything of import because of fiat.
>>
>>44514627
1. So would Rhys. Lotte though herself was a rival Princess to Leia before being disowned by the House Ulgo for her Imperial allegience.

>>44514634
2. It's the new Star Wars comic. And technically TFA also proved that normies can use lightsabers with some difficulty.

3. She's taking a very proactive approach in terms of getting you back into the fold by any means necessary.
>>
>>44514700
Worst case scenario for Lotte is actually getting what she wants.

A confrontation with Rhys at this point would likely cause her to drop 30 SAN. Or even worse, he relents and joins her, only to fuck her over at every possible turn. Or he kills her.

Sad she cannot into thinking ahead.
>>
>>44514778
Rhys always was the big thinker in Flight School.
>>
>>44514700
>TFA

That aspect was kind of dumb in that regard but at least it showed, still kind of called BS on normies who never held a sword before

So Lotte was giving us a choice but not really giving us a choice? I'm trying to comprehend what is going on in her head and it hurts. She knows Rhys's actions and reactions to things yet does the opposite or productive way.

>>
>>44515119
1. Lotte grew up on the opposite side of the war during the Clone Wars at around the same age as Rhys. Unlike Rhys however, Lotte had the pleasure of actual witnessing the rise of the Empire, and seeing Emperor Palpatine herself declare a New Order. She's more or less genuinely bought into the idea of the Empire bringing law to the lawless, which means that from her perspective, she's bringing law to your lawless existence.

>>44515108
>>44515162
Please, Lotte is not for bully, nothing to see here.

>>
>>44515287
But again with the bloody contradictions. She mentions helping tarkin towns but buys star destroyers.

Wants to improve the Empire, keeps the shitty TIE bomber.

On a lighter note. Did Misri install the energy torpedo and how much for each tube?

1. Lotte doesn't herself personally buy Star Destroyers, that's the Empire.

2. She also doesn't actually believe in the Missile Boat either. Many TIE Pilots are conditioned to like their craft and their craft only, keeps them from defecting.

3. Not yet.

>>44515401
4. Yeah, this is why I don't write smut. I can't seem to believably lead into it.
>>
>>44515437
It was a good try though.

Though seriously bringing the law into Rhys lawlessness? So she considers herself a savior despite screwing him over on several occasions?

Shes putting the cart before the horse.
>>
>>44515594
Indeed, she probably doesn't realize what she's doing is wrong in a sense, just that it's the right thing to do in her little world.
>>
>>44515437

>>
>>44515641
>[DESIRE TO WATCH LOTTE LOSE HER MIND OVER THE ATROCITIES OF THE EMPIRE AND THE HATRED FROM RHYS INTENSIFIES]
>>
>>44515693
Like I said, don't bully the Lotte, she doesn't like being bullied.
>>
>>44515712
She has it coming.

And she's going to end up dead, anyway. Not even from us, but from her own damn self making stupid choices.
>>
>>44515641
So she knows she is not Rhy's favorite person or even friend anymore. Yet still pushes the issue when Rhys mention multiple time she isn't interested. Which is compounded by the fact her Empire and her by extentsion screwed him over.

Not to mention when she herself didn't have a response to when he finds the treasure and spout random crap despite being friends for years.

How does she mentally justifies this or excuses herslef of all this. I mean she will will several gold medals for this mental gymnastics?
>>
>>44515712
Does that mean she'd feel awful if the bounty hunters had killed him?
>>
>>44515736
Ehh think of it like Cold War level American patriotism.

Rhy's is flirting with Communism.
>>
>>44515712
What about telling her that by effectively cutting us out of any of the auridium instead of just saying that we'll negotiate a finder's fee and safe market value sale of our cut, she burnt almost all of the bridges with us?
That every single action she's taken has only served to cement her position as nothing more than a traitor and backstabber, and even Tyber Zann made himself look more trustworthy in comparison to her?
>>
>>44515736
>Rhys sends her a holo-text the size of a book describing how she was wrong at every turn, and is a fucking moron

>she kills herself once she is forced to accept it after the destruction of Alderaan

Was it worth it?

Yes
>>
>>44515806
Her excuse is "I get that you busted your butt and risked life and limb to find this treasure, but a haul this big can't possibly be ignored. The Empire needs this way more than you do."
>>
>>44515736
>>44515746
She would feel awful if the Bounty Hunters killed Rhys. They have specific orders NOT to kill him.

And again, she justifies it by believing she's bringing law into your lawless life. She simply can't comprehend that'd you willingly choose to leave the Empire to pursue a life of crime.
>>
>>44515806
She's an officer in them military and her nation is being plagued by a depression and insurgency. She needs those funds to bring prosperity. If they could just wipe out these lawless rebels everything would return to normal!
>>
>>44515830
I find it funny, that by doing that single job, we probably worked harder than she has in her entire life.

Cushy Imperial officer jobs, not even the ones who have to deal with Vader.

What a load of pish-posh.
>>
>>44515879
Lotte effectively flunked out of pilot school and got a free pass through officer school as a consolation prize. She had a harmless position in the middle of nowhere and didn't have to do much. Then she stole the aurodium haul in the name of the Empire, and now she has her own Star Destroyer.
>>
>>44515858
What would her reaction be if we started work for the Tyber and found the fleet for him
>>
I wonder, if when we do inevitably get captured and brought to Lotte, if Vader will have caught wind of us and showed up to see the recruit he missed all those years ago.

I wonder if he would feel that the force is at least slightly with us.

I wonder if he would feel our anger.

Oh boy, shit would get real.
>>
>>44515934
We're not working for Zann, as that's effectively career suicide. Still, we can't ignore the plot hook he laid out there.
>>
>>44515858
A whole starship worth of money? Which she took. Sending out a bounty?

again mental gymnastics/
>>
>>44515951
My vote is that we take the fleet for ourselves, and become a power all on our own.

Fuck everyone else, we will fight and hold that fleet, and hire crew for fucking all of the ships.
>>
>>44515945
On the bright side, he'll probably have us kill Lotte consequence-free in order to feed our Dark Side.
He might even let us do it with our bare hands instead of something as impersonal as a blaster to the back of the head.
>>
>>44515963
She took the aurodium haul FOR THE EMPRAH, didn't realize how much that pissed Rhys off and made him cut ties with the Empire, tried to bring him back into the fold, and now she's FORCIBLY trying to bring him back.
>>
>>44515858
I honestly don't beieve you since she has a habit of showing such callousness before.

She'll just feel bad then move on after a few seconds.
>>
>>44515979
Both the Empire and the Rebels are interested in the Katana Fleet. You can't have just one dude claim the entire fleet for himself.
>>
>>44515934
> "Rhys, let me get this really straight so I can fully comprehend this. You found the Katana Fleet. But instead of turning it over for the Empire to salvage, you handed over the entire Katana Fleet to a miserable megalomaniac crimelord that doesn't believe in either the Empire or the Rebellion and would rather the Galaxy live in chaos so he can profit off the suffering of trillions of people? I've made some bonehead decisions but damn, that is absolutely horrid!"
>>
>>44515987
>Vader makes you strangle your former friend to death with your bare hands

>takes you out for drinks and to blow shit up with a nifty TIE Advanced of your own

Oh god dammit, the desire is real
>>
>>44515979
>hire crew for fucking all of the ships.
We wouldn't be able to get that many crew. We need actual spacers, not beggars and moisture farmers, and anyone that signed on with us would be a marked man from the Empire, the Rebels, and the Consortium.

And Zann was right, we'd eventually piss off the Hutts and Black Sun (who are still around and one of the strongest crime syndicates, by the way).
>>
>>44515995
She's a patriot and earnestly believes that the Empire was the best thing to happen both to her and to Rhys. The fact that Rhys turned his back on the Empire and became a smuggler is inconceivable to her.
>>
>>44516014
Well, my response would be simple.

>>
>>44516014
Spite is a hell of a thing. I mean.. if only someone had cut me in on a big haul I did all the work for a few years back...
>>
>>44516014
I'd rather give the fleet to the littlest Mandalore than Zann or we could slowly sell the ships off over time to various people.
>>
>>44516177
The Furies would most definitely love the Katana Fleet.
>>
>>44516177
The Katana Fleet Dreadnoughts are too distinctive to not get recognized.

As soon as one of them shows up, Zann, Imperial Intelligence, and Rebel Intelligence will know that someone needs to die.
And the Hutts and Black Sun will want the fleet for any protection.
And even with all of the automation that the fleet has, I doubt that the Furies have enough bodies to crew them.

The Katana Fleet would be even worse than the auridium; with the ingots, it's just money, with the Fleet it's military power that gets people assassinated and not just murdered.
