Happy End of Year holidays guys! I wanna say merry christmas but I dont want a mod to ban me for being politically incorrect or something... <.<

Let me know if you arrive. I dont really expect much considering the date, either for today or tomorrow's threads.

Miellewds-guy here.
Stuck in the office, so I'd welcome something to occupy my time.

Tanis' sexual frustration must be getting pretty high; Eldric should take care of his dragon's needs.

Uhmm im 99.95% blind, half native american and half chinese. I guess that kicks my priviledge levels through the roof? I mean, sure, this or that ethnic group can cry all they want about their ancestors being exploited, but it sure as fuck cannot compare to the way native americans were abused. And the chinese imported as "workers" when slavery became a ugly word...

Anyway let me remember... right. Want to have a cutesy morning with our puppy and kitty little sisters, then move on to more serious business, or get the serious business right away? or should we have a cute-based thread since its xmas? Eldric wakes up thirsty. Or rather, hot.
Why is immediately apparent.
These are the tropics, after all, and even though he went to sleep on top of the covers, he's waking up under Stella anyway.

The wolf girl is sleeping stretched sidewise over him, her hips on his chest while her legs stretch over the bed and she somehow manages to sleep quite comfortable with her face on the floor.

She's drooling over the pillow she dragged down with her.

The reason Eldric feels so hot is because Stella's fluffy tail is resting on his neck as if it was a warm scarf and... ah, it smells rather nice, but... its really warm.

Zoe is still sleeping right where she was lastnight, at the edge of the bed, hugging her piushie. Well, it's pretty warm, so she doesn't seems to have missed the sheets at all.

Stella chuckles in while sleeping as Eldric pushes her tail off of him. She squirms away, waking up and sitting on the floor by the bed.

"M'ning" -she says with a big smile as she rubs her eyes with both hands- "What's for breakfast?"

>>>Let's prepare breakfast together and surprise Zoe?

Stella looks at us, then nods with a smile.
Of course, first we have her dress up first.

Well, she's wearing pants and a tshirt. That will have to do. It IS pretty hot already and its just the early morning.

Stella is actually... pretty handy on the kitchen. Guess she has been helping at home without us noticing.

Well, she's still a bundle of happiness as she works, but that's not a bad thing, is it? she humms happily as she peels and slices the fruit, switching her bodyweight between the balls of her left and right feet all the time, wagging her tail as she rolls the fruit on her fingers.

We were just planning on some bread, cheese and milk, but she made cute fruit shapes, turned the left overs into juice, and used her [craft] skill to make the more time consuming stuff, such as fresh bread.

You need to know how to make something before you can use [craft] to make it. Guess she DOES help at home after all.

"Should I make some meat snacks?" -she asks casually as she finishes decorating the dishes.
"Ah... no, let's not have too big a breakfast"
"Okay"

She looks pretty wifely right now, cooking with her hair covered by a handkerchief.

So she CAN be grown up when she wants to. I guess.

No, no, we catch ourselves looking at Stella's form as she cooks. This kid doesn't has any womanly charm, right?! right. She just -looks- grownup. She's just a kid!

Right. Our heart is calm now. It feels as if a crisis has been averted.

"Brother, do you think this is enough?"
"Ah... yes. Good girl"
"Yaay, brother praised me!" -she wags her tail as she stands there waiting for a pat on the head

"Uhh... but then I wouldnt get praised when I do, though..."

Well, she's probably right? but she shouldnt be a good girl just get praises and head pattings, though.

"If you are a good girl, you can come and ask me to pat your head whenever you want"
"Really?"
"Yes, really"
"Yaay! Brother is the best!" -she says as she leans in to nuzzle at our neck and chin
"Alright, now let's take breakfast to the room, alright?"
"Alright!"

When we go back to the room, everything is as it was, but for Zoe sleeping on our side of the bed now.
Guess she moved looking for us until she found the bed's edge?

"Zoe, wake up" -we gently caress and pat her back
"Uh,,," -she moans softly as she sinks her face into the pillow
"Such a sleepy kitten. Zoe, breakfast"
"Uhh... I want to sleep on brother's pillow."
"what are you talking about? its the same as yours. Zoe, breakfast"
"...nuh, I dont want to"
"Zoe, don't act spoiled now. Get up." -we say while rubbing her back
"Alright...."
"Zoe's a good girl, too" -we smooch her cheek

She smiles and curls up for a moment, then... well, she's really a kitten, uh? she does the whole kitten yawn/stretch thing with her tail straight as she arches her back and finally gets up.

Well, as soon as one asks to be fed, both want to be fed. Then we just hug them for a bit before taking a quick shower and dressing up for the day.

Stella humms and sings happily as we wash and dress her, but Zoe is a much more quiet and tranquil girl.

She's always bright red nowadays. I wonder if she has a blood pressure problem?

Alright, once everyone is up, let's go face the day!

We have most of the morning free until lunch time, then in the evening we should get dressed for that dinner with the baron that is the head of the nobles faction.

Lets see, it should be about 3am on the empire right now, so we can't really go to work right now.

Mana Generator Arrays (having ways to run the generators, such as steam boilers and dams with turbines, aside from using the Sbastian system of collecting ambient mana)
Golem-Airship
National Mana-powered Food Replicators (Okaba is in favor of this)
Mana Energy Drinks (Asmund is in favor of this)

With some free time to ourselves, we lay down to read on bed. No reason to be uncomfortable for reading, right?

Well, it seels to make Stella quite happy since she lay lay down on our back while we read. It's not as if her weight bothers us either, but it is quite hot so... ah, its alright, I guess.

"Stella, don't bother brother, he's studying" -Zoe stands with her hands on her hips by the bed side
"Im not bothering him"
"Yes you are"
"Am I bothering you?"
"It's fine"
"see?"
"...alright"

When Lyann comes later into the room, she finds us reading in bed while Stella and Zoe are laying down on top of us.
She says nothing, but lets out a big sigh

Zoe is sleeping with her head on our shoulder, while Stella is reading with us.

"It's going to be lunch time soon. Did you have a bath already?" -she asks as she pokes Stella gently on the side

Our puppy sister squirms and giggles, then answers that yes, she already got a bath,

"Is that so?"
"Yes!" -she wags her tail as she answers
"Alright." -then to us- "Eldric, don't spoil them too much."
"It's fine, we're just reading together."
"Yes, reading together!" -echoes Stella

A few minutes later, Lyann too is on top of us while we read.
Its actually somewhat bothersome now, since the day is only getting hotter and hotter now.
Well, in the really hot places, it isnt unusual for people to lean on eachother since their body temperature is lower than the ambient temperature...

Indeed, after a while, it feels rather nice to have the girls with us.

*nock nock*

"Yes?"
"Eldric, can I come in?" -Mako calls from outside
"Sure."

A few minutes later, Mako (and Ami, and Mai) too is on top of us.

Alright, its starting to get silly, now.

"I need the next book"
"So sad" -says Mai

Noone wants to go get it.
We need a magic hand spell

"Please one of you grab the blue book from the desk"
"Not I" -says Lyann as she enjoys resting her head against our left arm
"Ah... I will" -Mako sits up, gets off the bed, and takes the book to us

She's such a good girl... aaaand she took the chance to have some fruit juice. Well, I guess its fine to get a reward for her work?

"Ah, can I have a kiss?" -we ask her as she comes by with the book
"W-why?"
"I want to kiss a fruit-flavored Mako"
"A-ah! ...o-okay" -she answers softly as she gets on the bed and leans down for a little kiss

Ah... fruit flavored Mako hooray!

Well, we are almost done with the thesis. Most of the actual work is over now, and now its just about writing things down in an orderly fashion.

Uhmm... we should go to lunch and then start getting ready for tonight's dinner.

Unrelated, but I just the endless legend bundle game on steam. Its like 10 dollars, and has endless legend plus all the 5 expansions. Its pretty fun so far, so if anyone wants to play co op with me, get it. My steam nick its Maglad, im in Arica, Chila. Just one thing. I just finished my first battle, and I have to say that the AI is fucking retarded when you tell it to handle your troops. My archers kept repositioning forever instead of attacking so the first battle ended in a draw, but when I had the second fight with the same troops and enemy, and managed them manually. I just told them to attack and they won the fight in the first volley, so dont bother with espectator mode.

"You are lucky" -sighs Lyann as she looks at Aura's comfortable and soft clothes

Lyann is wearing a stiff, high class dress in a dark wine red in a high gothic style, complete with a stiff bell skirt, tight corset and long gloves that cover her arms all the way towards her upper arms.
Well, it also has quite a high level of skin exposure despite all its fabric, since it leavers her shoulders and neck exposed and seems to present her soft, beautiful breasts as if they were about spill out of a plate.

"I don't know" -says Aura- "You have some nice ventilation there, don't you?" -the blue succubus refers to Lyann's noticeable cleavage in a completely innocent manner.- "It can't be that bad."
"It is." -answers the redhead- "I have seven layers of underwear and underskirts under the outermost one, so it'll keep its bell shape no matter what.
"That's terrible. This may look comfortable, but it actually has an extra robe underneath, too."

Dawn and Zoe, as well, nod. They too are dressed in a similar way to Lyann, albeit Zoe's dress exposes more of her back and lees on her cleavage and shoulders.

"You all look so pretty" -offers Mako as consolation

The girls all stare daggers at the princess
Her dress is long and tight, but obviously thin and fresh, being made out of a simple layer of well tailored silk.

"What is it?" -she asks
"..." z4

Well, from among the boys, Okaba is the best dressed for the hot, humid weather. His country is just slightly to the north from here, after all, so his fashion reflects this, and he is wearing a couple of fine cotton pants with a sash of bright purple silk around his waist, while keeping his upper body exposed.

Eldric, Alard and Asmund are all wearing nicely tailored three piece suits in the best not-british! style... honestly its rather suffovating, as well. Thankfully with their constitution they will be alright, but just because you can endure something, it does not mean that you want to have to.

1/?

Can we just cast ice spells on each other to cool down?

Why have we not enchanted cooling underwear yet?
>>
>>44363177

"In the future, we should use a larger rockit ship" -suggests Okaba- "That way we can take the centipede carriage with us."

Well, our hosts are providing us with transport, but their vehicles are not meant for the standard humanoid body so it is somewhat bothersome for all parts involved. They had to modify them, and we had to adapt to backless seats.

"Well, all of the ladies look gorgeous" -offers Asmund with a smile. "Indeed, I feel any one of you may steal my heart tonight."

"I don't know what is it that they complain about" -says Honoria- "At least you are not wearing traditional armor to a ball." -she says with a sigh

When Aritsu and Sinoe come out wearing long but thin and light elven dresses, the girl's wrath goes from Mako towards them instead.

"What?" -they ask, confused by their friends stares

"They are just jealous of how nice and comfortable your clothes are." -we say- "Don't worry"
"Well, we are really bad with heat, you know? So this is really hard on us, still."

Uhmm.. we get the feeling that we heard that somewhere else.

Once we are on the ball, the nobles approach us to greet us, but not all of them do so. Well, after all, we came with Okaba to offers them an alliance that includes Heven, and they have been at war for hundreds of years, so it can't be helped.

International diplomacy is about the network of individuals and important people.

I just about caught up with the archives and have a few things to ask.

1.) Whatever happened to that scouting/investigation party sent up to the plains about the weird shadows?

2.) What ever happened to those other job classes unlocked by Scion, do we just never use them?

3.) What happened to the development of advanced real world technology to integrate with magic for our own magi tech?

4.) What ever happened to using coalition enchanting to make god-tier items with the colossal amount of mana that can be gained through tons of generators?
>>

>Try and secure trade routes with individuals rather than with regions. (ie with the count of X instead of with X region that he rules)
Largely because, especially in a kingdom, regions can change rulers and policy quite unexpectedly, whereas individuals remain more consistent (even if they go out of power they likely still have their own means), can trade with products/ establish supply from other regions more easily, and can exert influence in a less constrained way.

For 3, we can begin to develop advanced real world tech because we don't know it and lack the precision tools to begin to work on it. Fuck, we didn't even have standardized measurement systems until last week.
Remember that we're a chemical engineer, not a civil engineer, physicist, or mathematician.

We haven't developed a mana generator design that can be powered by mechanical means efficiently that is affordable. The best design so far are the Sbastian ambient mana condensers that have a limited range.
>>
>>44363544
We can make a small one for 25 gold that produce 7/MP per minute. With 10, 1 million MP is produced in 10 days. This can be transformed into sound and transferred through water in pipes underground.

Otherwise, we came up with the idea of a magic steam turbine that produces water and then heats it to steam infinitely, which could then probably be turned into MP as well for even cheaper.

Is that not good enough to justify the cost?
>>
>>44363774
What's the efficiency loss from the conversion?

Also the cost of laying down those pipes?
We never did the experiments to see what the maximum range is for the mana-carrying sound wave in the pipes, or if it can be interfered with by natural sound.

>3.) What happened to the development of advanced real world technology to integrate with magic for our own magi tech?
I remember something about sending mana through pipes, but most of our research is in pause right now because its summer and the classes are dismissed so we cant access the lab, and when we can access it, its understaffed (its just us) anyway. Once we go back to classes, we'll be able to use the lab and its staff again
>>44363460
>4.) What ever happened to using coalition enchanting to make god-tier items with the colossal amount of mana that can be gained through tons of generators?
We are making true egelesness bracelets and other accessories right now, but it will take 5 years for them to be fully charged. Its been charging for 2 years now, 3 more to go. But its going. If you want something else, will need to get done when the labs are staffed again

>>44363881
>Also the cost of laying down those pipes?
I guess it would depend on the material we want to make them out of, and whatever fauna is in the area. Most animals and beasts wont bother attacking pipes (cant eat them) but specific rare monsters may be attracted to the mana inside, and bandits may break them either foir the lulz or to lure in repair crews.

>What's the efficiency loss from the conversion?

Irrelevant, The MP is free because it's produced by an enduring enchantment that produces sound which resonates with a series of plates (as far as I remember). Once the energy to build the thing is put forward, there's no more input beyond basic maintenance.

>Also the cost of laying down those pipes?

That can be covered up by just folding it into a plan for implementation of modern plumbing if we ever decide to do that or this.

>We never did the experiments to see what the maximum range is for the mana-carrying sound wave in the pipes, or if it can be interfered with by natural sound.

No less effective than doing it in the open air.

Almost negligible, but I think the loss on the pipes will be considerable. Well, when classes start again we can start experimenting with metals and such for the pipes.

Also, again, I recommend you to get the endless Legend game on steam. Theres a game + 5 expansions pack for like 8bucks and so far its really good, though I am having trouble diferentiating wtf im looking at since the units and even the city seem to be rather transparent and its hard (for me at least) to see wtf im doing.

After talking with the various nobles in the ball, the collowing deals are available, assuming that peace can be established,

Insect Meat - Lapsionan dungeons produce a lot of insect-based food products. Insect meat is very protein rish, but extremely low in fats. It can be a very good energy food, and like most products, it can keep almost in definitively in someone's [Item Box]

Lizards of Burden
Lapsionans breed giant lizards as beasts of burden. Their bodies are obviously unsuited for riding, so any animal husbandry they do, its related to food or labour. Their giant lizards typically function as war beasts or guardians, and help them farm the jungle beasts for loot. We could probably use these beasts as mounts as well, but they require a warm climate all year round, so we couldn't take them to the northmost edges of the coalition. Eopolis would be too cold in the winter, but most of the Heavenly Empire would be great for them.

Lizard of Burden

Succubus slaves
The pheromones of the succubus have little effect on the spiderkin, and so it seems they have less desire or inclination towards enduring the succubus shenanigans.
Since the succubus tribes near Lapsiona have been lost, we could import them into the country and help create a stable population.

Chitin
The dungeons in the spiderkin lands spawn mostly insect types, and so chitin its a "common luxury material" for them. It is hard to learn to work, but it could have interesting properties. It would be quite expensive, however, since it is a loot item and so it can only be acquired thanks to someone risking his life for it.

Tree Sap
The lapsionan spiderkin use a white, firm yet soft substance that looks suspiciously familiar... when we ask about it, we are told it is tree sap that they process and use in small quantities. If we refined or replaced their old methods, we could probably find a good many uses for it. Research will be expensive, however.

Diamonds
A very common and hard material in the south of Lapsiona, diamonds are almost worthless. They are almost impossible to work with, and are so plentiful that they pick them up by the handful on the beaches. The only reason we became aware of their existence at all, is because we saw them used as stone decorations at the sides of the baron's garden pathways.

We should secretly develop these before we buy up diamonds. Otherwise they'll just sit in a warehouse collecting dust and being a drag on our budget.

Then why are you saying no to them, there's no way your going to get a better deal on them than right now if you end up coming back for them and there are several general uses for them even if they can't be used as mana crystals.

Alright so no insect meat

Yes to lizards

Yes to succubus. They are not refugees, they were enslaved in the old fashioned "I raided their village and dragged them away in chains" fashion

Yes to rubber. Will probably need vulcanization

Diamonds are tied right now, need a tie breaker I think

No to chitin

Three deals are a no
Three are a yes
We seem to be on the fence about diamonds

Can we get a tiebreaker on that before I go? Also, I just wanna say, I like the new captcha with the gift boxes. Its really easy to see

>there's no way your going to get a better deal on them than right now
Why not? We'd be the only ones to develop any uses for them and no one will know until after we make a deal for a resource that most people consider worthless.

You know, this might sound weird, but is it possible that we can build generators way easier/cheaper if we used a few to assist in the process?

Like, say we build a generator to start with; you would use the MP generated from the one to make the enchantment for the second, and since metal and wood elements are permanent, they can also provide materials. In that case, couldn't the bulk of creating a mana generator be covered by other mana generators? Wouldn't the number of generators at our disposal grow exponentially at that rate?

They're making an offer they think is in their favor by selling us something they think is worthless, and are probably selling it for cheap, if simply because we make them drop their price point by expressing how useless the stuff is, which we could get away with, since they're offering. No one asks for a resource they think is worthless, if we come back looking for diamonds, they might inadvertently end up asking for a more realistic price for the fucking things.

Dont forget that mana "generators" are more like collectors right now, taking wasted mana from surrounding living creatures. At some point, you are tapping all the excess mana in a city and no matter how many "generators" you have, you wont collect more mana.

I think its more like
Mana "collectors" (Sbastian style) are cheap and efficient, but have a hard limit on how much mana they can collect

Mana generators using dungeon hearts are much more effective if you want to mass produce them, as long as you are okay with "killing" the dungeons for it. And you are still limited by how many dungeon hearts you have, anyway.

And we are still on the fence about diamonds.

Well, Im going out now. I'll see you guys tomorrow, God willing.

I thought we ended up making actual mana generators, no just the collectors Sbastia specializes in, backing like thread 27/28, where we took the mechanism Sbastia uses to convert MP into sound and back again, and used it to turn raw sound produced by a permanent enchantment resonating at a specific frequency into MP?
