In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium there is only war. Imperium of Man, once strong and proud, now is slowly crumbling, whole regions of space are lost to the horrors that lurk in the darkness of the void. Sector Deus is just one of the thousands of Imperial provinces that form the front line in the war to defend Humanity itself. Corruption from within and aggression from without threaten it. But the Emperor sends us hope. High Lords of Terra commissioned a Chapter of Adeptus Astartes, finest warriors Humanity has ever seen, to defend this region of space. They are the last line of defence that hold Age of Ruin at bay. They are the Ghosts of Retribution and this is their tale.

Let's get this baby started
++From the Chapter Master of the Ghosts of Retribution++
++To Magos Regon, Fabricator General Nestorum++
Emperor 's Blessing to you Fabricator General. We have located a technological miracle of the Machine God, a geothermal plant. As one of our dearest allies, I would like to offer you the right of first inspection. We have also retrieved more transportable object of interest; a new pattern of Predator Tank from the time of the Great Crusade.
>Invite the Nestorians to study the Dark Age of Technology Geothermal Plant
>Preapare Deimos Pattern Predator Destructor for the Nestorians to transport away.
>>
Things to do

1. Purchase 3 teleportaria for the aspera, pax and lance for 55w

2. Dispatch Trianon & Dragrock with Hunter Squadron Alpha to investigate the missing transport ships in Subsector Dominus. They have skill from the Dreifus hunt.

3. Get that Arbites investigator the Inquisition sent us. >>>44216064

4. Invite Regon/Nestorians to the Tombstone to have a look at the ancient generatorium. They love old tech. Also gift them the human-sized Deimos Predator we bought from Kerr (value ~100 wealth)

5. Turn 50% scrap suit of terminator armour into a full suit. Seran's tech-use I suppose.

6. Check on Xenya's training with Geron, and how much better she's got at manipulating her pariah field in training against CM

7. purchase 20 drop pods for 36w

8. Confirm I can upgrade 51 scouts into 2nd company and move around appropriate equipment of my own volition

9. Sending Geron & Revenants to Solstreim to contact Xyptus.

10. Tournament with Black Templars as outlined in >>>44216366

All I can think on the agenda at the moment.
>>
>>44303668
and more....

11. Have Quintor interrogate Dreifus. Find out everything about how he gained support for perpetrating the Betrayal at Varda, if he had any backers or if he really was the sole force behind it.
Then I think we should publicly execute him, either on Varda or Tachion Primaris.

12. Make sure Karr is investigating the potential sources of the genestealer infestation on San Larion, and whether it could have escaped elsewhere via chartist ship.

13. Our troubled friend Dermont. Is he feeling worse because the Mormarkian quarantine means he can't get juvenat procedures?
>>
>>44303668
>>44303775

If I may

14.Bring the Nobis Prison Master key, personally, to the forges of the Chapter, and throw into the furnce. Leave only once it melted away. Now that Dresos Kand is free it's more incriminating than ever, and the Inquisition probably changed the locks twice since the incident.

15.The shielded Crates recovered from the downed thunderhawk on Sygma-477. They haven't been opened yet. Assign Techmarine Simmer to carck them open. He is a little unorthodox, so he won't have problem being rough with the opening mechanism.

16. Have dinner with Admiral Tyrel Hagen, and inquire about his problems. Why can't he leave his current location to aid us in matters. (already have writeup prepared)
>>
>>44303775
>11. Interrogation
Our other prisoner Saragon Ursus got pretty desperate during his captivity. I say we let Dreifus have a little one on one with him, so he knows if someone dooesn't make themselves useful, we have no problem letting them rot for two decades, and more

>>44303668
>no.8 2nd Company reinforcement
The Ice Wraiths have an interesting cult that on average imperial scale, would be frowned upon, and maybe even would draw unwanted inspections.
Have Harmantos, choose potential candidates himself, discreetely. People he could trust and wouldn't be outraged by their practices. Review the candidates ourseves (I want to roll a skill) then get only those who passed.

>Recruitement
We promised the Void Squad that we'll integrade them to the chapter in the year of 352.41M, which is now. We did that because the new armors arrived, and we can make new recrutis. Enugh to start a new company, and they could blend in.

If anyone says that they look too different, then I remind everyone that we also have a half-reptile marine, and he seems to do just fine.

You want me to help you after you conveniently forgot to get me a present for Candlemas.......AGAIN!?!? I hope the Omnissiah fills your power-stocking with coal this year.
>>
>>44304851
b-but Fabricator General! We gave you our Titan! It was the only thing that had big enough power-stockings for a Deimos Pattern Predator Destructor!
>>
>>44304851
We did give you a present. The chapter master personally chose it. But the transport we used, one you sold to use and maintained, broke down halfway because of an software incompatibily error #4232.
Although using the anointed oil set Alpha-23-Kappa in the approved combination and rebooting, the error persisted. We did file a report, that your manufactorum has not yet looked at. It has backlog ticket 24234#224AA45234
It says wait time 2.4 Nestorian Standard years.

Your soulword travels swiftly and so does the reply:
>Omnisiah bless your guns, oh great Lord. We are pleased to hear that your Chapter once more made discoveries of ancient technology. Nestorium values our friendship greatly and on days like this we can see why it was the most logical course of action to make this arrangement with yourselves. We ourselves are well aware of geothermal generatorium technology, it is ancient, but well known across the Imperium to this day, nonetheless, we'll send a group of tech-adepts to survey the one you found to see whether it has any unorthodox designs. And Deimos Pattern Predator... That's a rare occasion to have one ready at hand to study! While we have it listed in our catalogues, we couldn't even imagine that we'll have an opportunity to actually work with one!

Regon also offers you four ways in which Nestorium could use the tank
a) Repair and return where it belongs - to the battlefield! [cost d10 wealth, Nestorian techpriests will charge you only for the parts required to fix it]
b) Sell the tank to one of the First Founding Chapters, they are rich and this antique piece could be worth 50+ Wealth (roll d100 for Negotiate/Trade)
c) Use it to spread the fame of Ghosts of Retribution - send it to Great Lords of Terra as a gift (50% chance of getting +1 Favour if they will appreciate it)
d) Start a secret Astartes-Nestorium project to dismantle Predator and try to understand how it was made. [Warning: HERESY OPTION]
+Roll d100 to convince Regon
+Roll d100 to convince Destros
+Roll 3d10 for how many years the project will take
>>
>>44305619
It's a human-sized deimos the chapter has no use for. Nestorium can do whatever they want with it for it is a gift.
>>
>>44305619
I'd like to point out that we are selling the human-only Deimos Pattern Predator
Marines can't use it
>>
>>44305619

I just love tech-heresy.
>>
>>44305619

strongly against d) as Nestorium will have a heresy hearing which really does not need any contributions
>>
>>44305679
No, the Nestorians don't know, but 3 techpriests from Mars came in secret to supervise them.
If they get wind of it, they are done for.
>>
>>44305707
Alright let's do B then. I'll change my vote to that.
>>
>>44305619
>B
>>
My lord, I have did as you asked, and started the investment plans of the Economical Account I've set up. I stay by my rule of three, and made plans to invest 1/3rd of it, which equals (15 Wealth). I've prepared 3 alternates, and put them in order of my recommendation.
>A) San Larion is greatly undiscovered, and geological survey might yield interesting resoults. After all, we already have ground forces on the planet, and they'll stay there for some time. Also some economical boost could help the citizens of the planet to recover faster from their predicament, maybe, just maybe wrapping up things sooner.
>For 15 Wealth, survey the planet for exploitable resources, and if found, make plans for it's use (costs, and projected profits/yields). Also keep it all secret, so someone can't swoop down and claim them.

>B)Argul IV's inhabitants obviously seek our favor, they are also close to Mormark, which makes transportation, and fast response avaible. Their ecosystem is also largely different from Mormark's, meaning, there is a bigger chance the Maybe we can strike a deal here.
>For 15 Wealth see what can be imported from Argul IV, with good profit to Mormark. Also vica versa. (costs, and projected profits/yields)

>C)Prothera is still recovering. Our reputation isn't the best there, but it doesn't have to be an opened announcement who owns things there. The people won't care if we keep our heads down, give them work and pay them.
>For 15 Wealth see what's the biggest demand there, and either try to find a way to import it, or manufacture it. (costs, and projected profits/yields)

>D)Find something else Averon

Approved. Please roll 2+d6 to see how soon will they arrive from Mars.
>Dispatch Trianon & Dragrock with Hunter Squadron Alpha to investigate the missing transport ships
Do you want them just to sweep the Subsector or would you want them to patrol there for some time or until they achieve success of some sort? Roll d100 either way

>Get that Arbites investigator the Inquisition sent us.
Reo "Wolfhound" Hestrom is originally from Sarris V, a planet well known for it's great Arbitres. He is a veteran Inquisitorial acolyte, having almost two decades of experience. Most of that time he spent working under Inquisitors in Ordo Hereticus, among them under Inquisitor Hesten, also known to you as Faceless. Since Hesten went missing, he was floating around the Ordo, until he received a new assignment - to work for you!

>Fixing terminator suit:
Roll d100 for Seran to fix it. It might take some time though as it is an exquisite piece of technology... Do you prefer speed or cost?

>Check on Xenya's training with Geron
Please roll d100 for Physical and d100 for Mental.
PHY: For each success below 60 Xenya will gain +5 points to distribute among her stats.
MEN: If she rolls under 35, her Blank Rating will increase by +1. Under 5, it will increase by +2.
If any of the rolls are above 90, she breaks even under gentle Space Marine training.

Sorry guys, this is the 6th time I am trying to send this message - my internet is dying. I'll try to post to reply to what was written here today, but I think session if effectively over. Just gonna state for record that Xenya will keep training under Geron when he's available, and this is gonna be long term (ie 5+ years) so I want softer training that might not give the best returns but also doesn't have a 1/10 chance of 'breaking' her (does that mean cripple or something?).

Hunter Squadron Alpha have had a good chance to test their tracking skills back during the hunt for Haran Dreifus. Their mission to Subsector Dominus because of that proves to be a lot easier than anyone would have thought. After a few weeks of sweeping their detectors spot a few stray unexploded torpedoes. Trianon suggests to track their trajectories to see where they came from and soon the squadron locates the site of the battle. It seems that the convoy was ambushed when it surfaced to the real space preparing for the next jump. The remnants of the ships show signs of looting and partial deconstruction... Trianon immediately connects the dots and send you the soulword:
>Milord, there are very few races mad and desperate enough to loot and reconstruct downed enemy ships on the spot. I believe that it must have been an Ork Pirate band, possibly a splinter of a Klan. It was a cunning, well planned attack. We have managed to track the attack down soon enough, so we could try to follow the warp route to wherever the perpetrators escaped... Should we?
[if yes, roll d3, that's how many years it will take them to return]

Any survivors of the convoy around? Is the deconstruction in the same haphazard manner orks do it, or could it have been AdMech harvesting components?

>Track them down brother.

Please roll for Trianon's Logic or Repair (both would default to 15 as he has neither), d100

The warp travel to Solstreim is quiet and easy, however arrival is quite disappointing. When Geron and his brothers land on the planet, it appears that Xyptus has gone missing. His usual channels are dead, all of the leads are cold. There's only one real way to reach him and that is true the authorities. After some time Geron finds out that local enforcers have arrested some local minor heretic on charges of high treason. The said heretic from description surprisingly reminds you of Xyptus... What shall you do?
a) demand authorities to release Xyptus
b) try to find out more about his arrest
c) try to free him through stealth
d) he can wait, let' find the heirs first

[Awareness roll bonus] Geron soon realises that Soltreim's secret police is tracking him and other Revenants since they landed on the planet. If they would suddenly decide to use their armour and disappear, this could lead to some awkward questions...

Should be plenty of techpriests on the Hunters to analyse such things. Also check the data logs of the wrecked transports.

>demand authorities to release Xyptus
He is an agent of the Adeptus Astartes, let any who accuse him of treason make themselves known so we can judge our own personnel.

Well, we are minutes past the deadline Skargan said he would run the session, and this post also arrived after he closed the thread, so don't know who to trust anymore, but here it goes anyway;

We'd like to collect any datalogs left behind, and notify the a Henderian Corporations Mandelorians and the Imperial Navy about our findings.

Woah, hold on a minute. He is a SECRET agent of the Astartes, let's think about this for a sec

How about those fucks just don't ask questions of the EMPEROR'S ANGELS and do what we say.
They have Xyptus, we want Xyptus, our reasons are our own and if anyone has a problem with that they can step out of the shadows and tell us what their problem is.
Or of course we can do what lots of Space Marines would have already done in this situation and just slaughtered a bunch of their people to take Xyptus back.
These jumped up mortal shits honestly...

As we have spare ships around, I suggest putting something near the wreckage to prevent tampering by third parties, just in case

The only ships currently unsused are the other sword (one went for Xyptus) and the Strike Cruiser above Varda.
I suggest the Sword...

Mission name: reinforcements...
Leader Commander of Sword
Units Unoccupied sword class frigate
Primary mission: guard the wreckage of the convoy

Note: do not send word we found the convoy until it arrives

Okay okay, we want to interview Xyptus and/or meet whoever oversaw/commanded his arrest.

I changed my mind. Demand him. Then with or without him return to our ship. Declare we are leaving in x hours

Find the location of the heirs, preferably from Xyptus, then try to stealth our way out of the ship. Get the heris and get back. then leave the planet
>>
>>44309022
b2) ask the local authorities about Xyptus and the exact nature of charges etc....
>>
>>44309281
Can we put a techmarine on it and have the hunters pursue ASAP?

fails

impblying Xyptus hasn't been arrested because Ursus knows he might know where the heirs are.
