A week has passed since your fight with the slavers - who now are YOUR slaves - and nothing much has happened. A number of huts now surround your lair, one made from the bones of the Jungle Behemoths that house the hunters and their gear. The Lizardfolk elder, Yaotl, drew you a crude map stretching from their former camp all the way to your hill in the jungle.
According to him they saw nothing of interest along the way, but they were tired, hungry and chased so who knows what they could have missed. The Slaver leader only now shows signs of regaining conscience and his men have been hogtied together in the hunter's hut. They refuse to speak, instead just cowering and murmuring to themselves before you but making them talk should be an easy task.

You are somewhat... content with you current situation. You've got a mate, a small horde of goods and some subject for you to command however you'd like. However a slight issue appeared, you ran out of food for yourself and your people!

Your stomach starts grumbling again and so you go and find Yaotl sitting next to a fire.

"You have hunters yes?" You ask the half-asleep Lizard, to which he stutters as he notices you "Y-yes Blue One, I shall dispatch them immediately.

All 5 of the hunters and some other of your people venture into the jungle holding the Slaver's spears and some other crude, sharp sticks. You told them about the apes swinging around and how they are easy prey, and they are... For you. The hunters return after a couple of hours, bruised and covered head to toe in some blue, sticky substance that you recognize as being the fruit that the apes survived on.

All they managed to catch from the hunt is the dissapointed looks of you and the females as they wash the blue goop from their scales, and some small rodent looking creatures. Well, at least THEY've got supper for tonight.

Yeah, sure. Why not you're my only player tonight so what the hell :))
>>
Another day passes, You and your mate still hungry after the failed attempt at hunting of the so called "hunters of the tribe" so you take matters into your own hands.

You grab the big skull laying around on the floor and head off into the jungle. Flying towards the all too known location of the apes and their fruit, the makeshift basket in your hand, you start to think about the future. What's going to happen next? This is how you will have to live the rest of your life, carrying fruit in a skull?

Reaching the destination the apes are no where to be seen, so you sit your bulk in the middle of a thicket of the trees and start picking. It doesn't take long until you fill the skull to the brim with fruit, but you leave very little behind. You even taste some of them, a sweet-sour taste, quite pleasant actually, fills your mouth and you take off with your bounty.

The fruit won't last long and the trees where you got them from won't have enough in them anyway so you decide to go for a flight, see if you can find another place with them.

You lift off and head into the jungle, taking the map with you for good measure. Flying in circles bigger and bigger around your base you can't see anything under the vast canopy of the jungle, so, you take a to a lower level, dodging branches and tree trunks. Another hour or so of searching and you stop, holding on to a thick branch in order to scan your surroundings. Looking around you get more and more bored. No fruit, no animal, not even a sound. That is strange.
You begin to lift yourself up using your wings, and just before you are airborne you hear a sharp whistle and a huge, weighted net catches your wings, painfully twisting them in the wrong direction. You hit the greound with a thud and are quickly surrounded by a number of men, armed with axes and spears. The biggest of the lot looks at you with a big grin on his face as he ties a knot around your maw.

"We got 'im boys. The lord will be pleased of this." He spits in your face laughing "We're dragon hunters and he sends us to catch a puny lil' wyvern like this guy?"

Dragon hunters? This isn't good..

Rage fills your body as sparks start flying around you.

"GET AWAY FROM IT!!" the leader shouts at his men who obey his command and leap away from you just as the surge goes off around you. Four of them fall limp to the ground and you stand, towering over the rest of the hunters.

A small victory in this battle because, before you can act, they move around you with practice and skill, jabbing their weapons at your flanks, chipping away at your scales.

You flail your tail and limbs trying to get them but they expertly dodge all your attacks. Their leader stays back, holding a small bag and searching through it, chanting as he glances back at you. You catch a glimpse of his deep, amber eyes just before he looks back at the satchel.

Ignoring the circling, cleaving and poking hunters you fix your gaze upon the Leader. You can hear him chant stronger now, a long string with jet black beads running around his hand. Power. You can feel his power surging through the beads. It's not like yours, it's... hot. Hotter than your thunder, so you act.

You can't let him finish so you launch yourself onto him, your claws and fangs ready to render him to peaces. But he sees you and jumps out of the way just in time, his beads landing on the ground beneath your claws.

You are locked into a stand-off. His weird spear turned towards you, your maw open in anticipation, and the remaining hunters scrambling back to their feet after your jump knocked most of them down.

The beads are ruined beneath your claws but somehow there still is some power emanating from him. He looks worried now that you are unleashed.

It's time to end this. You gather all the energy you can muster, white sparks crackling all around your maw. The hunters take notice and begin to fall back into the folliage surrounding you.

Their leader, though, stays. His eyes slowly close and that's your mark. A thundering roar escapes your throat as you launch with all your might towards the man. Halfway through the jump he opens his eyes and they meet yours, time slows down to a stop and you can hear him speak "I am Nagendra, Lord of snakes."

As soon as his voice fades away a bright flash of white engulfs the both of you, and then... Black. You fell unconscious, but not before you can see the forest around you leveled down, and a small crater where the man once stood.

The Lizardfolk drag your body bak unto your nest. They can't do much but straighten your wings back to their natural form, tying some loose wood as a splint for them to heal. You will need a lot of time to recuperate fully, and that means a lot of food. The hunters gather around discussing plans, should they go and hunt again? Maybe their look will be better this time. Others don't want to risk another shamefull display like the last time so they suggest to train.

Finnaly they agree that training should help them in other hunts, so they set up some logs as targets and start chucking spears and stones at them.

Others run across the forrest trying to be as sthealty as possible by stalking small rodents and birds. Soon more men from the tribe join in, turning it into a competition, aggravated of course by the curious eyes of the females.
As they train, the oldest of the hunters comes up with an idea. Why not send groups of hunters every day into the forest to stalk smaller prey than the apes. It's soon accepted by all the hunters in your tribe.

With the regular patrols of the hunters the outskirts of the jungle seem safer for the women of the tribe. So they all take their children for walks, picking berries, leaves and roots along the way.

Some of the older women remember the lessons their mothers gave them about what each plant is for, and start making simple poultices and teas for their aches. They even gather some meaty leaves known for their soothing and healing properties and apply them to their Dragon Chief's wounds.

It's not much of an improvement in their diets but the women feels comfier now that they can relax over a nice herbal tea.

The hunters are quite good at throwing their spears but you can only throw it once then go back after it... But then suddenly they remember the slavers and how their leader had This device that could launch the spears further and better, this... Hand ballista.

Yaotl answers to their request and looks into it, searching the lair for the mangled bit of wood and sinew. It's there but it's broken from when you landed on it, the bow is snapped, the handle is broken but the rope is still there so he brings it outside so everyone can give an opinion on how it works.

It takes a while to debate on how it was operated, but eventually a child getting bored goes off and gets a stick. He ties some bark on both the ends and plays around with it for a while before someone notices him.

His "design" is simple, a stick with some rope tied to it's ends, but in order to make it strong enough to actually kill anything still eludes the tribe.

>Gained a good insight in bow making, but it's just not strong enough to be used for hunting.

And about the food, well, You've got a basic hunting schedule. You go around killing small mammals and reptiles and bring them back. It's not much but you'r not starving. Anything else you add is treated as a surplus, and it CAN be used as a form of currency. sort of

You improve it by getting a more diverse diet really. Like bigger animals, fruit and veg that sort of thing

You stirr. Still out, but you start moving at least. yout mate sees this and gets the idea that you'll be hungry, very hungry after this ordeal, so she sets off into the jungle to hunt. The hunters are inspired by her and, togheter with the salamanders go out for the Big Hunt.

All the men get their spears ready and the women go about the edge of the jungle gathering whatever they can find.

It is already evening when everyone returns from their expedition, litteraly loaded with meat and plants. Apes, rodents, snakes, even a Behemoth calf is hunted today. While the women and children gather a substantial pile of sweet roots and other juicy leaves and berries.

A great feast is in preparation for your return, The air filled with the smell of searing meat, smoke and songs of joy of your people.

It is time to wake up and RULE... maybe after ten more minutes.

It will improve once you use it more. Or you get a higher level (you are now chief, next is lord, prince, king and emperor) But it's a looong way kinda

Right now, you get your message across. But it's not that refined, you still have the animalic sounds in there like the hisses and rumbling

ah right, that was for the dragon, right.
maybe separate the tribe/camp things and our(dragon) stats?

and we should have enough population to research bows further too. slaves can build things, they've slacked off long enough.

(if you're ok with this)
>>
>>44271972
Well, they are kinda the same thing. I mean your people are jungle dwellers with no lips... Being a reptile is hard when you are trying to make yourself heard. And they're quite primitive compared to the rest of the world

>>44272027
Yeah, sure. You can even interrogate them you know. I kinda hinted that in the first post

"Aarrghh.." You mutter as you stretch your bound limbs. The wyvern (name her? and even you for that matter if you feel like it) excitedly greets you, chirping and leaning softly on you as you amble out of the cave.

Outside you are meeted by Yaotl the elder, and the tribe, who happily show you their accomplishments.

A new hut, enveloped in big leaves and with smoke coming out of the seams, designed to house the meat and smoke it so it doesn't spoil. It was built by the slaves after the lizardfolk unbound them and "convinced" them to work on it. And bows. Apparently the young lizardfolk who grasped the concept of it in the first place, has got a knack for such things. His sollution? Tie more sticks together to strngthen the bow.

You are seated down by the biggest fire to keep you warm during the cold, rainy morning and a feast beggins in your name. Even the slaves are allowed some extra rations for their help with the smoke hose.

Your bones still ache as you indulge yourself in the feast, your mate always by your side as your people amuse you with dances, contests of archery and stories of the hunt. All is well in your tribe, but you still can't shake the memory of Nagendra. The man who defeated you..

You had your full, a good night's rest and... some fun with your mate. But you have to know that you are safe in the jungle you call home. So you set off again, you can't protest when the wyvern joins you, so you both stretch out your wings and head out into the jungle.

No more chances are took today and you stay above the cannopy, scanning your surroundings and following the general idea of the map you lost during the fight. You head westwards first, towards the former camp of the lizardfolk, only to find it in ruins. Charred remains of both shoddy buildings and half eaten bodies.

You fly over to where you fought and manage to actually find the black beads used in your defeat. Most were crumbled beneath your claws, but some are still on the piece of string, and only now you notice them being inscribed with weird markings.

Then you head south along the coast, reaching a shallow swamp created at the mouth of the river that flows through the jungle. You return home, in the evening, with the new information you gathered about your surroundings, and you can't help but breath in relief that everything seemed safe... for now.
