>Last time on Dragon Civ:

You woke up, confused and starving into a cavern to the smell of death and fire. Getting out into the jungle you were greeted by a female warden who became you mate and with which you defended your lair from two Jungle Behemots, massive herbivores of the thick jungle.

You found some friends in the form of 7 salamanders who followed you home after a scouting trip and went hunting to discover your innate power over thunder.

Welcome to the second installation of Dragon King!

Rolled 4, 2, 4 = 10 (3d6)

You lazily pick up the last of the ape's corpses and take to the air with a sweep of your wings. While up above the trees you take your time surveying the surroundings of your lair before you land at the mouth of cramp cavern. (got map. yay)

The Wyvern seems asleep in the colourfull nest, so you drop the meat with the bodies of the Behemoths, big chunks of meat missing from them from the fight. You look for the salamanders and they seem to have made their own little warrens, dug on the inside of the dirt mound surrounding your cave. As you approach to inspect them you notice that some of the animals gave birth! Small, wriggly baby salamanders lofting in the branches and leaves that line the warrens.

Your clan grows, and with them your pride.

Also, shitty hexographer map of your immediate surroundings. in the east there's the river where you found the salamanders, and in the middle is your hill with the lair carved in one of it's sides and in the north there's the beginning of some hills.

Well, your lair is quite cramped as it is with the two of you in there, and the mounds are quite fancy. Imagine a 3 meter high wall of compacted dirt surrounding your cave entrance with little warrens dug in the inner most side of it

Also, kek at your name but you should've voted yesterday for it :^)

As you inspect the wrigling baby salamanders the wyvern wakes up with a hearthy yawn. She chirps as she gets up and starts rummaging around in the cave, clearly not sattisfied by the cramped walls and uncomfortable floor. As she starts removing rocks and other debry from the cave walls you think about how can you improve your slight mastery over the static you feel all around you.

So you take off again, large wings carrying you, on top of the hill that houses you. You begin by gathering up the energy around your body, this time easier than the first times you used it. Shimmering arches of static running around you body, you feel empowered, the thunder giving you quicker reflexes as you nimbly jump form tree to tree.

All goes well! You are actually having fun leaving scorch marks on the bark and leaves of the giant trees, bouncing on branches and zapping huge leaves that get in your way. You don't even notice the bird perching on a low branch right in front of you, but it does, and with a loud panicked screech it flies away.

Cont.
>>
>>44132569
You lose your focus for a second and all your energy dissipates in a flash, obliterating the multicolored bird that startled you in a cloud of singed feathers. You regain focus, only just, and land on a big boulder breathing a little faster than you'd like. (gained better control over your power and as a result your mp increases by 10!)

You return to your lair, amused at how a small bird could scare you that way, and as you enter the lair, a bored wyvern shoots you a glance. The only improvement in the lair is that the boulders under your mate's side of the nest are now outside.

Annoyed by her lazyness you decide to go out and see if you can find SOMETHING to brighten up the place. As you prepare to leave you see 4 of the salamaders looking ecitedly at you. If you could smile you would as you take off at a slower pace.

You head north with the salamanders in tow, keeping an eye opened for anything shiny, you order your companions to fan out as well and search the jungle floor for you.

An hour or so passes and you find yourself rummaging through some fallen trees when you hear a familliar yelp coming from further in the jungle. You quickly perk up and head towards the sound, a couple of more yelps errupting from the same direction. As you reach the calling salamanders you perch your frame on a thick branch and watch in surprise as the salamanders surround a group of frightened lizard-people. As the yelping beasts circle the group, you make your presence known by gently growling for the animals to retreat towards you. As they do the lizards look at you in awe, some start bowing low to the ground as others start muttering among themselves.

A lone lizard steps forward, leaning on a broken spear, he starts speaking in a croacking voice and you are supriszed that you actually understand what he says:

> "Please, Blue One, we are on the run from the slavers. They attacked our village and captured most of us. We are running for days, please..." As he finishes his plead a child starts crying softly in his mother's arms

What do you say to the old lizard?

You think about your answer for a while. It's the first time you hear someone actually speaking to you since you've woken up.

Your maw slowly opens, a few croacks come out as you attempt to form the words in your mouth:

> "Iii.. I will h-hhe.. "

You hiss frustrated, but in the end you manage to form the sentence properly

> " I WILL SAVE YOURRrr VILLAGE. IF AND YOURRr PACK JOIN MEEee."

The old lizzard looks at you, a look of defeat on his face as he answers

> "There's nothing left to save. They burnt it all down after they killed our warriors and stole our people." His head drops as he struggles to hold his feelings from bursting forth

> "THEN JOIN ME AND WE WILL ssssSAAVE YOUR PEOPLE" you answer him simply. He looks back at you ready to answer, but before he can say anything one of their females shouts "THEY'RE HERE!!!"

Battle Scene incoming.
Your troops are:

> You, 1 Blue Dragon Chief (60hp/90mp) - Electrical surge (20mp)

The lizards that are not holfing children turn to face the danger. 20 Hobgoblin slavers run out of the bushes but stop in their tracks after seeing your big frame perched on the branches above the lizard-people. They hezitate for a second and then they charge at the refugees.

Your turn. You have 3 combat actions, one for every unit (you, salamanders and lizardfolk) please roll me some 3d20. Best of three

You roar for the lizardfolk to fall back behind you. By the way the elder spoke it's clear that they are in no way able to fight for themselves.

They quickly retreat and surround the women and children to shield them as best as they can. Seeing that they are safe behind you, you start gathering your all too familiar power around yourself and pounce at the charging Slavers, blue, crackling light surrounding your frame.

Before you are able to deliver your payload though, one of the slavers carrying a big hand-held device, points it at you and shoots...

Fortunately for you, the big, sharp bolt just misses you and plants itself firmly into the bark of a thick tree. You get in range of the Slavers and unleash your storred energy.

A thundering crash is heard and when you look back at the enemy 5 of them lay limp on the ground, the air filled with the smell of singed hair and flesh.

The remaining slavers manage to chuck some of their spears at you, piercing the thin membrane of your wings. It stings a bit but that only infurriates you. (-5hp)

Your Salamanders charge at the Slavers, pouncing and tearing another 3 to peaces.

Seeing that the worst threat here is the big Hobgoblin, you quickly slither towards it, your maw stretching wider and wider as you get closer to him. He panicks, frantically trying to reload his ballista, but it's too late for that. He drops it and tries to dodge your bite, but you are faster than him, and your jaw locks shut just above his knees with a wet crunch and a cry of paim.

The rest of the Slavers try to fight the Salamanders back, managing to wound 2 of them, but at the same time losing 5 of their own to the ferocious jaws and claws of the nimble creatures.

Seeing that they are overwhelmed, the remaining 6 Slavers try to run away but they are quickly dealt with by you and the salamanders.

Battle Won!

The battle is over, the refugees are safe. You turn towards them, picking one of the spears lodged in your wing and crushing it between your teeth.

> "YOU ARE FREE NOW -hiss-" you look at the elder, he is clearly more relaxed now. " Thank you great Blue One. You saved our lives! We were prepared to pay for passage to whoever asked us for it so here"

He hands a a golden arm-band to one of the salamanders.

> "We will join your tribe and aknowledge you as our chieftain." He turns to his people " We can finally stop running, you see his power, he can protect us!"

At that remark all of the males hiss victoriously, the prospect of a long rest and a warm meal giving them new found strenght.

>Gained Golden Arm-band

You gather your new forces and head through the jungle towards your home. Your mate seems worried about the hole in your wing, but you think nothing of it. The lizard-folk settle at the mouth of the cavern, building crude bivouacs from twigs and leaves. They are your people now.

You will be able to equip Old Blue here with certain stuff. Some you won't as it's either too small or other reasons.

Right now, the armband could be used for a couple of things:
>making your horde look nicer (everytime you add an important item to the horde you get a +. At 5 pluses it gets upgraded)
>Trade item..
>You COULD equip it although I don't know what bonuses it could give you

I'll make a pastebin with the rules for the next thread.

Don't forget to follow me at https://twitter.com/MunQm

And see you guys next time
>>
>>44136237
Well, I don't understand what "lighting" powers mean in science terms. But if Old Blue produces current (and it seems so, given that it arches), that current flowing through a conductor generates a magnetic field... Look out Charles Xavier.

Would this fall in the "tech" side?
>>
>>44136406
We'll have to research this some more.

But the setting itself is about mid-late bronze age tech for now. It'll take a while to get to a more advanced society, that's why starting from next thread I will have all the actions be done on the course of one week
