/tg/ - Traditional Games

Your people have always been a simple folk. But you are smarter and more cunning than your brothers and sisters. Once your father died you claimed the title of chief, no one opposed you because of your skills as a Hunter and Tactican You are J’amp Guud Big Chief of the bullywugs. You will lead your tribe to control the Swamps, or die trying.

Last time on Bullywug civ

Work is started on a place for the hoppers to stay it will be done in 2 turns.
The scout who first rode the hoppers is named [name him], and put in charge of future scouting missions because J’amp looks for creativity and inventiveness in his tribe. (hero unit bonus to scouting)
While observing the now docile hoppers, you find they seem to eat vegetation.

The special spears are ready. We call the ones for trees axes and the ones for digging shovels. -20 wood and stone. +20 axes, +20 shovels

The art of combining vines together is perfected! We now have many nets we can use for fishing, and with research we can make nets bigger and better.

Growing up is hard for a bullywug, not all of the eggs make it to tadpoledom, and not all the tadpoles make it to adulthood, thus is life.

The nets are put to use. Unforntanly we aren’t able to catch anything by throwing them at the fish. Maybe we will be better next time.

Sprucke the rider leads a group of hopper-riders to the southern edges of the swamp. They are stopped by a group of Skumjampers.
“this is the edge of your lands. Our agreement will not allow for armed forces on the border. Withdraw or this will be considered and act of war between our tribes.”
What do?
Press on (this will invalidate our treaty with the Skumjampers.)
Turn back (respects our treaty)

Growing up is hard for a bullywug, not all of the eggs make it to tadpoledom, and not all the tadpoles make it to adulthood, thus is life.
The village is under attack! A group of Claudhappers have attacked our tadpoles. They have slaughtered the younglings. Only 53 of the 653 survived to adulthood. The attackers are torn apart by our warriors
Surely, this attack will not go unpunished. The tribe’s mothers are demanding Murtagh, or blood-feud.

Population Boom!
with the loss of almost an entire clutch of eggs the familes are eager to fill in the gaps
+1500 eggs

The nets are put to use. Unfortunately we aren’t able to catch much of anything by throwing them at the fish. Maybe we will be better next time. +1 turn of food.

The tribe is angry about the attack. Bullywugs start to train for war. It is sloppy and the tribe has many slow learners.
War training done in 2 turns

The nets are put to use. We have finally found a way to use them effectively.
+5 turns of food

The tribe is angry about the attack. Bullywugs start to train for war. It is sloppy and the tribe has many slow learners.
Luckily J’amp is able to make a breakthrough!
He has taught the regular soldiers to pick two:
Fight in formation, use ambushes, hit and run tactics, fight at a range, other
And some of the riders who did not go with Spruckle have learned to Use the hoppers for (pick one):
Shock troops (basically heavy Calvary)
Hit and run attacks (Calvary at a range)
Other

The leader of the group of Skumjampers escorts Scukle’s riders through their lands.
He is lead throughout the southern region of the Skumjamper’s lands. He is eventually lead to the main village.
He is greeted by their leader M’tik the wise. “Greetings little one! I’m happy you passed my little test! Here! Take these back to your tribe. We are now great friends!”
M’tik has given your tribe spears with metal points! A generous gift, for metal is rare and prized in the swamp.
>you are now allies with the Skumjampers

Luckily J’amp is able to make a breakthrough!
He has taught the regular soldiers to fight at a range and use hit and run tactics, the bullywugs are already incredibly mobile throughout the swamp, so jumping in attacking and jumping away are easy, and deadly concepts that they master
With this idea of hit and run, the same bullywug who made the first nets has been able to make a device that can throw a small spear much faster than a bullywug can
+50 bow and arrows created
And the have learned to Use the hoppers as Shock troops (basically heavy Calvary) when the hoppers face a threat they have a nasty habit of jumping directly into groups of enemies and their leg barbs can be deadly.

Growing up is hard for a bullywug, not all of the eggs make it to tadpoledom, and not all the tadpoles make it to adulthood, thus is life.
This is the largest clutch to reach adulthood in tribe history! Unfortantly there aren’t enough houses so it is cramped. -0.5 morale every turn.
>critical mass: we know have enough population that job specialization is available! We can assign members to certain tasks, but they will not learn to switch tasks easily. And it will take a turn for them to learn the task
