Date: 200 ABO, Year of the Shield

Location: Narth Ranch

You are a seven foot tall Mark I stone Golem.
You are the byproduct of the Dorfs and Gnomes attempts to make the perfect artificial being.

Yesterday, you awoke from a 200 year slumber with no since of identity or purpose. After awakening, you happened to wonder onto a small Ranch, owned by a cute young elf named Holly. After scaring the shit out of her, you asked her for a name, and she dubbed you Gabriel.
To repay her for starting you on your quest for identity, you did some work around her Ranch, and afterwards had dinner with her, and learned a bit about the world around.

The next day you met her farm hands, which went poorly at first, but using your Golem charms you manged to make friendly with the one you scared.
You also discovered a compartment in your back, where you found 10 old coins, a ruby necklace, and a letter from your creators. The Dorfs and Gnomes.
The letter says that your creators saw you as a defective unit, and threw you out. They do not care about you.

After sinking into depression, and doing some more work around the Ranch, you went to town with Holly, where you sold those old coins to a friendly Drider artist for a very nice 6000 gold.
You used some of your money to buy a breast plate to cover you massive glowing core (which will be done by the end of the week), a claymore, and a few books.

You are now back at the Ranch.

Your inventory is the fallowing

5750 gold
4 Old Coins
Very fancy silk bag (gift)
Steel clay more

Do we still have the ruby necklace? Don't see it in our inventory. If we do then...
>Inspect necklace

Why were we left it? I sort of get the gold along with the letter of termination. Lets us start anew. But why jewelry?
>>

It's probably magical.

The necklace is much to small, much to small for you to wear. It has masterfully crafted and has no smith or jeweler stamp on it.
It glows lightly with magical aura, however you have no idea what enchantment might be on it.
>>
Let's start building our Golem hut
>>
>>44029136

While returning to the Ranch, you brought up building a little hut with Holly. She said yes, but in exchange, you would have to work on her farm for six months. Do you agree to these terms?
>>
>>44029283
It's not like we have anything else to do.
>>
>>44029321
Pretty sure we're near immortal too. Six months of work? We're literally designed to work without resg for millennia. No biggie.
>>
>>44029283

There isn't anything really keeping you here behinds your apparent affection to Holly

>>44029402

GOLEMS ARE ETERNAL
>>
>>44029283
Yeah.
>>
>>44029638
Nothing pulling us away either. Unless we hear of a dwarven golem-smith and a construct-specialist artificer at a location, may as well stay put by a trade hub. May yet be clues near where we awoke too. There was a city somewhere underground around here that we used to work in after all.
>>
>>44029283
The lifespan of elves is like a blink to a construct such as ourselves. Six months seems plenty fair enough.
>>
>>44029730
>>44029752
>>44029907

We are just getting started, anon. Lots to do, lots of time to do it in

that aside

Holly shows you a small clearing where you can build your little hut

You have some options here my anons

How big to you want the hut to be?
The clearing is fairly large and leaves a lot of room for creativity. You could even build under groud, if you wanted to!
and your only resource right now is wood.

I will leave the design up to you my anons.

If you want to be a little creative, draw it up!

Make it big, and add a basement for us to work on personal things in.
>>44030191
Yeah, nearly nobody, though the thread just started.
>>
>>44030158
Can we get a hold of stone? The cave we woke up in could be the start of a small quarry/mine.
>>
>>44030158
Make it fairly large and stable use strong materials and have a small fence(large enough to keep out animals) and eventually a garden around it.
>>
>>44030158
Build underground exclusively. Have the only entrance up top be a large, extra heavy hatch that we can open.

Don't bother with ventilation or anything like that, either. We don't need it. Just make sure that it's ISOLATED, DRY, AND CLEAN.

Some kind of cellar that leads into a somewhat hidden underground facility. I'm thinking a library of sorts, so in case of some kind of event forcing us to sit underground for a long period of time (war, apocalypse, etc.) we can use our collection of books for studying and learning about ourself and our world.

Something like this, maybe?
>>
>>44030828
A workshop too I think. Making things is fun. Plus if we ever work out golem smithing, maybe self improvement/maintenance.

Have above ground be like >>44030552?
>>
>>44030953
I will back this if we have a nice fence around the house
>>
>>44030953
Yeah, that came to mind when I was drawing, but I didn't really know how to illustrate a workshop with my shit mouse drawing skills. Some place to read for pleasure and study that also functions as a place to learn and practice our smithing and metallurgy is all we really need.

It'd also be nice if we had a place for Holly to come visit for tea/holding hands. We'll want a nice bedroom on the surface.

You make a mental note to go back to your formal resting place to see if the stone is worth anything.

New Power Discovered!
Your fists can rotate at sigh speeds to function as a drill!

You begin hallowing out a basement for your house. After several hours, you have a nice, large room made. The run is getting ready to set, and you are now covered in dirt.
The room is 6 feet underground, and big enough to store at least a dozen Golems.
You are industrious, if nothing else.

When you crawl out of your hole, you find Holly standing there with a tray of lemonade.
"I suppose I shouldn't be surprised you like it underground." She offers you a glass. "Refill for your uh... repair gel tanks?"
>>
>>44031034
A whole load of workbenches, some huge cabinets filled with teenty boxes with different sized screws, tool ranks around the edge with uncommon tools and a wheeled toolrack of common tools to move between workbenches.
Basing this near entirely off of Adam Savage's shop, but he seems to know what he's doing.

>>44031116
>politely accept lemonade
Probably wore down our fists somewhat with all the drilling.
>>
>>44031116
Accept the lemonade and thank her. We need a good workshop we must have some information on crafting things left over from the dwarves and gnomes.
>>
>>44031116
Are we able to refill the repair gel by eating like dirt or rocks or somesuch?

In regards to Holly accept the lemonade and maybe ask about her day?
>>44031329
Drilling dirt will do barely anything at all against our rock hands I'd imagine. Dirt is generally rather soft.
>>
>>44032061
>>44031792
>>44031329

Your fists are quite worn down. You can feel the repair gel inside you empty slightly, pumping into your arms and hands as the stone that is/was your hands slowly regenerates. Holly is a bit freaked out by this. You thank her for the lemonade and drink it. It refills the gel you lost.
You can eat rocks and dirt, but it isn't worth as much as eating meat, fruits, and vegetables. the reason for this being is because your creators wanted you to be realistic in your diet.

"How as your day been, Ms. Holly?" You ask, finishing the lemonade.
"Its been good." She says with a smile. "After we got back from town, I helped Bill work on filling the holes left over from the tree stumps I asked you to tare out, we want to make a pasture for some goats we're getting next month." She takes your glass. "Will you be joining me for dinner again tonight? Its nice to have company at night, I'm finding."
>>
>>44032694
>Yes, of course.

Holly a cute, we want to spend more time with her.
>>
>>44032694
yes I would be happy to join you.

(35/100. Next level 50/100)

You're having dinner with Holly tonight.
Why don't you clean your self up a bit? You are covered in dirt and stone. Perhaps even get her a gift!
>>
>>44033073
This is a good point. We need to find a body of water. We should go on a run through the countryside; perhaps there'll be a pond we can take a quick dip in.
>>
>>44033073
Find a decent water source and wash up see if there are any nice wild flowers around maybe i'm not the best with gifts.
>>
>>44033073
Are we capable of carving a simple 'doll' of her from a rock? Would that be an alright gift?

Are we able to shake off the dirt like a dog would water? I find it humorous if we can.
>>
>>44033147
I just had a better idea: Should we give Holly one of our coins as a gift? It'd cover her living expenses for a good portion of her lifetime.
>>
>>44033236
It feels wrong to give and accept something so valuable when you've just met someone, it is an excellent gift though.

You remember seeing a small stream on your way town, and make your way.
You wash your self off and shake the water off of yourself like a dog. a large, stone dog. There are some flowers along the road back to the ranch. Your imprinted memories tell you that, while not exactly fancy, they are nice, you pluck a few of them and return to the Ranch, by then, the farmhands have gone home and you see smoke coming from the chimney of Hollys house.

Your current inventory is

5750 gold
4 Old Coins
Very fancy silk bag
Steel Claymore
Imperial History Book
Good Guide to Elves
Bad Guide to Elves
Red cape, with a large golden hammer on it.
>>
>>44033347
I mean, that's fair, but we also have no sense of our own value. How much is our labor worth in money? How much are the sum of our body parts worth? All we know is that a book shouldn't cost 50 gold and that a sword is worth about 200.
>>44033453
I guess for now we'll just give her the flowers. Let's head towards her house and sit by the window.
>>
>>44033453
>Good Guide to Elves
Take a quick skim of the book before we meet her. Might have a useful tip.
>>
>>44032694

>>
>>44033618
>>44033489

So my anons
I've always been a bit bad at pacing, I just want you to know that as we get into this

You pop your trunk, and pull out your book, and quickly skim it.
There is a lot to process in it. Under the 'Dining' section you find that elves are quick eaters, and like sweets. Especially cookies.
Elven table talk tends to drift toward nature and family. They are a curious race and enjoy learning new things as well.
You run out of time to read any more as you go up to the kitchen window, and quickly store your book Holly is standing at her counter, cutting carrots. "Oh hello Gabriel!" She says brightly. "You've cleaned up! You look much better." She chuckles.
>>
>>44033988
We have killed flower, we have killed the forest little childens, she will think that we are monsters...
>>
>>44033988
Wait. Oh, god. Is she vegetarian? I don't remember if we ever ate meat. Well, flowers are plants just like carrots, really. Let's give them to her.

>"I found a bush of flowers while I was walking earlier, and I picked a few because they reminded me of you."
>>
>>44034057
To bad we never got to squish any pigeons.
>>
>>44034159
Well, these little beast eat seeds, the plants unborn children.
>>
>>44034057
>>44034134
>>44034159

Guys you had steak with her the other day. Shes not a vegetarian.
You persent her with the flowers. ""I found a bush of flowers while I was walking earlier, and I picked a few because they reminded me of you" Holly turns bright red.
"O-oh! T-thank you!" She takes them. "They are beautiful! I-I'll go put them in a vase right away!" She runs out of the kitchen. You feel like you did a good job.

Or both.

(I earse my name when I post in other threads. Sometimes I forget to readd it)

While Holly is away, you quickly pop your trunk, and check the book again.
'Elves enjoy going on post dinner walks, and a great many might be like to drink wine on full moons.'

You hear Hollys foot steps and put your book back and close your trunk.
She has a small silver vase with the flowers in them. "Thank you so much Gabriel." She is still blushes a wee bit.
She returns to prepping the meal. "I don't think anyones ever brought me flowers before. Not since I lived in the city anyway." She throws the carrots into a pot on the stove. "I hope you like chicken noodle soup. I mean, I know you don't taste, but..." She drifts off. "I don't know where I was going with that. She stirs the soup. "I didn't get a chance to ask, what books did you pick up in town?"
>>
>>44034793
I purchased books on social interaction and history, I wanted a frame of reference for how i should act and common knowledge.
>>
>>44034793

Maybe we could pull out the history one to show her?
>>
>>44034883
>>44034896
>>44034922

"I bought a book on history, and a couple on social interaction. I find that there is... a lot fo catch up on." You take out the history book and hand it to her. She take its.
"Ah, History of the Imperium. That might be useful. Lots of wars in there. Lotta lotta wars. The Fylkir likes war." She chuckles and hands you back the book. "My granddad fought in the Battle of Kelvin. Got a medal for leading a charge over the city Wall! Lost his arm though."
>>
>>44035094
The fylkir? A race or faction? Sorry, I haven't settled down to read these yet.
>>
>>44035094
Do tell me more, I'd have started the book but I've been busy digging a hole. (like >>44035129)
>>
>>44035094
Oh dear. Did he have a new one put on or is he a nonmoddable version?
>>
>>44035426
This, but replace nomoddable with discontinued
>>
>>44035129

"Who or what is the Fylkir? I haven't gotten a chance to start reading the book yet, as I was digging..."

She smiles "The Fylkir is the leader of the Imperium. Has been since its founding. The current Fylkir is Isaac Calorus." She stirs the soup a bit more, and then puts it into a bowl. She sets on on the table for her self, and then one on the window sill for you.
"What of your grand father?" You ask, taking a spoonful of the soup into your mouth.
"Well when he couldn't fight anymore, he volunteered for the Replacement Limb Program, which is where he met my Grandmum. He got a prototype arm, made of Mithril. I remember, when I was a little girl, he'd show off how strong it made him. He'd lift Boulders and break steel poles in half..." She sighs and smile at the memory. "He was a good man."
>>
>>44035509
Was your Grandmum another volunteer?

>Replacement Limb Program,
>Mithril.

>>
>>44035509

>>
>>44035744
>>44035689

"What exactly is the Replacement Limb Program? Was your Grandmother a volunteer as well?" You ask, take another sip of your soup. Holly shakes her head
"No, she was a nurse that helped him with his rehabilitation. As for the program it self, its a military program ran by the Imperial Institute of Science and Technology. They worked with the College of Magic to figure out how to replace limbs with enchanted metal one. I think they have a center in Kelvin. Now that I think about it." She ponders, trying to remember.
"So uh, you used past tense..." You said awkwardly.
"Ah, yes. On my grandpa. He passed away when I was in school. Old age, you see." She nods. "My grandma went soon after. The doctors said it was a broken heart. Its... an elf thing. We can do this ritual that bonds us together and its really intense..." She trails off.

Theory: Our creators actually liked us. The letter was for our benefit, but not to be take at face value.

They had to flee the continent. Still, someone took the time to write us a letter, not even knowing if it would ever be read, and gave us money and a magical artefact. These are not actions of someone who doesn’t care about us.

Instead, what if they wanted to break off any association between us and them so that the angry mob doesn’t destroy us? And also, so that we will feel free to do whatever we want instead of feeling bound to the creators?

"Yet?" She asks. "You fixing to learn?" She chuckles. "Well, the Elven bond is this big long ritual that sorta binds two people together. Their souls interlocked for all of time. You can hear each others thoughts, and feel each others emotions. Like I said, its really intense. Most married couples don't even do it." She says, handing you another bowl, and sitting back down.
"Have you ever Bonded with another?" Holly blushes at the question.

"I examined the necklace that I found in my storage. I believe it is enchanted, do you have any sort of magical knowledge?" She takes it, and examines it.

"W-well, I mean. L-like I told you. I don't really have any experience with... urm... flirting. I mean. We only just met, and you come off so... strong. I like it. I like it a lot. B-but I don't know to to react."

"W-well I mean. I don't think the thoughts I'm currently having would cause you much offense." She shifts closer to you.

The two of you sit there together for a while. Enjoying the sight of the moon reflecting on the steams water.

However, your peaceful serenity is destroyed by the sounds of running footsteps on the path over head.
You turn your head and see Polk running toward the Ranch. He sees the two of you.
"Ms. Narth! The trial against those bankers just ended! Their having a lynching!"
Holly stands up. "Oh Fylkir. Another one?" She turns to you. "How'd you like to have a taste of Imperial Justice, Gabriel?"
>>

You tell Holly you'd like to see what exactly Imperial Justice is.

After a short walk back to town, you find a crowd gathered around a large wooden platform. On top of it is a man in suit with a rope around his neck, next to him is the man pictured.

"Ladies and Gentleman of Karva, I present to you Mr. Achr Kel. He stands guilty of theft. For the past year and a half he has stolen over 20,000 gold from you, the hard working people of the Imperium!" the caped man grabs the hanged man by his hair. "Tell me, Mr. Kel, what did you use this money on!?" The hanged man whimpers.
"I-I bought luxuries for my family and friends." He says pathetically. "I-I spent 10,000 gold trying to arrange an unofficial transfer to the North."
The caped man pulls a note out of his coat and holds it in front of the man. "Read the underlined section!" He demands.
Kel gulps. "I want out of this backwards frontier town, the people here are freakish and boring. I long for the civilized North."
The caped man throws the note aside. "I believe there is nothing left to be said. I, Ortlip Sarneringen, sentence you to death." He pulls a large level, and Kel drops like a sack of rocks, the sound of his neck snapping echos over the crowd. You see piss dripping down his pant leg and his eyes bulging out of his head.
The caped man leaves him hanging there, and walks off the hanging platform. The crowd quickly disperses. Holly stares at the hanged man.
"Thats Imperial Justice, Gabriel."

"Dear Mr. Anderson,

>>44062147
"What happens to his family and friends?" You set the note on the hanging platform.
"Well, his family will be offered transport back to the North. As for his friends, anyone who helped him will be punished in their own way. Not hanging though. Maybe a flogging, or a slap on the wrist." She takes your hand and starts pulling you along back to the ranch. "At worst, some people might be conscripted." She sighs. "Its always messy business."

You decide to read. You start off with the Good Guide to Elves.
You read the section on Elven History
The section states that after The Big One, the Elves home land, The Great Forest, sank, and refugees began pouring into the shattered remains of the first Empire.
From here, Humans and Elves worked together for the first time to lay the Foundation of the Imperium.
The former Elven homeland was a magnificent place, that was filled with magical wonders that could bend the very fabric of reality. These wonders were lost when the Forest sank into what is now the Black Sea.

After reading that chapter, you move onto Imperial History.
The Imperium was officially founded exactly one year after The Big One. Its founder, Lord Leman Calorus the First. He united the the scattered peoples of the fallen First Empire, and set about The Great Reunification War, where he retook the the lands of the First Empire and more. over the course of ten years. The Imperium could have very well conquered the world, but was halted when the evil Telvish State was found in the East. Since then, the Imperium and the Telvish have been in an unending, brutal war. The official line between the two Empires has become a wasteland, where all manners of warfare have scared the land.
At this time, the War shows no signs of stopping. Nearly 1 billion men and woman have died, another another billion will if it stops the Telvish.

You decide to stop reading there, and let the information soak in.

You go to your little hole in the ground.
You begin planning out your house, and drill the door ways for future rooms.
You also dig a small latter to the surface for your self and perhaps Holly, maybe someday she'll come down here, once your house is finished.
Once you get some work done, you decide to take a break, to let your hands regenerate once again. You feel your repair gel tanks empty a little bit.
You decide that now would be a good time to examine your self, and maybe learn a bit about your anatomy.

Let me work something up for this.
>>
>>44064593
kk take your time OP, no rush.

Bodily Examination: As you know, are you seven feet tall, and made of stone.
Your face is a bland looking statue one. The only thing that really stands out are your eyes, that are some very beautiful gems that glow bright blue.
You are about 3 1/2 feet wide, with a strange, glowing blue gem in your chest. On your arms and legs, you have steel plating embedded into your stone skin.
When your try and do anything to your core, nothing happens.

As for functions, you are not really sure what to do. These functions wills have to come to you in time as your try new things.

huh, the town and her ranch are actually a fair distance from each other. How long did it take us to move between them?

Hmm... well the distance between Narth Ranch and the Villiage of Woodbrook is (on my monitor) .5 centimeters. So on this current scale, its 1 hour of walking time per .5 centimeters. It is 1.5cm or 3 hours to The City of Kelvin and about 12cm/24 hours of walking time to the blue line.

I'm not sure if that's supposed to be accurate, or if Narth Ranch and Village are simply further apart on the map than they "should" be.

Or just put the ranch and the village nearly on top of each other. Then it doesn't matter the distance between them.
I'm sorry for my autism OP.
