Now with a wikipage: https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Talons_of_Corvus

Quick summary: Raven Guard successors that stem from the Raptors Chapter and who are a more heroic Brotherhood of Nod.

Last time there was more fleshing out and there was also a nice story being done (hoping it will be finished).

Also Drawfags/Drawanons, writers and many more welcomed so very much.
>>
Eh, not feeling it.

Nod would fit better with traitor guardsmen or xeno cultists.
>>
>>44018132
Nah. Depends how you could play them.

Here we're doing a more heroic take. As in:
- No mutations
- Causing uprisings on planets that were conquered/annexed by heretics/xenos or seceded from the Imperium
- Being the natural enemies of Tau when it comes to stealth and counter propaganda

They also have cyborgs, stealth tanks, and a giant murder scorpion that dwarfs over The Brass Scorpion of Khorne.

The Inquisition is kinda mixed about them due to their affinity with cyber warfare.
>>
>>44018176
So what you're saying here is the only thing resembling Nod about them is the colorscheme.

Why bother, then?
>>
>>44018209
Nope.

They have cyborgs, Confessors that act like Chaplains, train operatives that infiltrate populations of conquered worlds and recruit new operatives to cause unrests that later turn into full-blown uprisings.

Not to mention that they have the Cyborg Moritats (their not!Cyborg Commandos), Stealth Tanks as mentioned before (that actually turn invisible) and can hack into the systems to cause a lot of damage.

And that's just the tip of the Iceberg.
>>
So how bout a avatar of the emperor titan. An experimental war titan based on a newly discovered STC, slightly smaller than the warhound titan. It can "cannibalize" weaponry from from smaller imperium war machines (e.g from Multilass or autocannon from chimeras).
>>
>>44018209
>>44018233
Also their color scheme is based off the Marked of Kane from C&C3: Kane's Wrath.

To be precise: Enlightened.

Not to mention that their elites are THE cyborgs.
>>
>>44018249
There is the Purifier (the giant ass scorpion based off Knight STC, has a shitload of other STC + their own tech).

Although we could make a unique Dreadnought pattern.
>>
>>44018095
Would they still be in rivalry with the Vanus assassins?
>>
>>44018349
Why not?

Maybe even go so far as to make it vitriolic to the point that the Ordo Sicarius needs to intervene every time as one anon suggested.
>>
Hi there.

I'll continue that story I was doing back then in the previous thread.
>>
I just had an idea. How bout we make a portion of their stealth tech come from reverse engineered tau technology. It came from semi isolated Mechanicus forge worlds, threatened by the tau expansion in the eastern fringe.
>>
>>44018492
Go ahead battle brother. Spread the glorious words of chapter master Kane.
>>
>>44018518
Actually the Talons of Curvus had an imperfect Stealth Tech from the AdMech of their homeworld, but over time it was improved when they started to haul in Eldar vehicles (of various degrees of damage) that employed Holo-Fields back to their underground facilities. They learned something from it, but not enough.

Now with the Tau being around, they did shift their interest onto their Stealth Suits...especially the Ghostkeel.
>>
>>44018274
Alright so its the Avatar dreadnought pattern. An ancient dreadnought STC.

Its designed for prolonged sustainability in an un-supplied battlefield or prolonged deep insertion scenario. Its highly adaptable, but miraculously simple chassis design, allows it to rearm and use almost any heavy imperium weaponry with little to no assistance.

Its highly valued and almost exclusively used the Talons of Corax. As their battle doctrine puts them in scenario where support and supply from friendly units are simply not possible.
It is notably more "agile" compared to other dreadnought patterns.
>>
>>44018589
I can just see them straight up using the bits from the Ghostkeel as a glorified adapter plugs for the Holo-Fields.
>>
>>44018589
Stealthy tactical marines armed with power-claws and heavy ordnance. Now we're talking.
>>
>>44018233
"cyborgs" and "infiltration" are tertiary to what makes Nod what it is, and Iron Hands already have the cyborg marine shtick anyway.
>>
>>44018603
Liking this.

>>44018612
Nah. They have their own stealth fields. The eponymous Shadow-Fields that are the result of these things.

>>44018619
Most of the time they are stealthy tactical marines with large amount of firepower. Due to them coming from Raptors.

>>44018620
But not like the Talons of Corvus have.
>>
>>44018603
>Its highly adaptable, but miraculously simple chassis design, allows it to rearm and use almost any heavy imperium weaponry with little to no assistance.
>I want that!
>>
>>44018816
Would they have weapons for their Devastators that a nod (heh) to the Obelisk?
>>
>>44018849
More powerful Las-Weapons?

Yep.

Including one exclusive one. The Long Lascannon.

Longer barrel. Longer range. More destructive single target/AP penetration.

Though they'd probably also haul back Eldar Fire Prisms back to study them.

Probably they'd even have not!Obelisks defending their Temple Fortress.
>>
>>44018492
The Ghostkeel Pilot never saw a space marine move this fast and with such ferocity. The Battlesuit quickly leveled its Fusion Collider on the charging cyborg marine, yet the moment he wanted to activate it, the Astartes' massive lightning claws hit the main weapon of the Tau, rendering it useless. The suit then activated its two Burst Cannons hoping that it will shred the assailant, yet the Ghostkeel's speed was too slow as the marine dodged them with insane speed.

> Wha...How can he move this fast?

The pilot didn't cease to shoot, yet every shot missed the astartes. Yet the marine didn't notice a crevice in the rooftop and had his foot jammed. The Ghostkeel brutally used this to his advantage and unloaded everything it got at the gue'la. There was a large cloud after the pilot kept shooting for thirty seconds non-stop and the onboard A.I. of the suit came to life.

> STEALTH SYSTEMS CHARGED. CAN NOW CLOAK.

That was a good message for the Tau. The drones activated their stealth systems and the suit became completely invisible. Now he could at least try to cause some havoc among those human rebels. The A.I. however blared and the inside of the suit was red the moment he wanted to activate the jet-packs.

> ALERT! HOSTILE TARGET STILL FUNCTIONING.

This was shocking for the blueskin, as not even a Space Marine should've survived a Burst Cannon barrage that was this intense. The pilot moved his suit to see for himself, and to his horror he couldn't still believe it.

> Impossible... - uttered the pilot, fear actually getting the best of him.

The marine simply shielded himself with his lightning claws. A dark-greyish field of power was enveloping him. The marine pulled down his arms and looked towards the now cloaked battlesuit as if he saw through the stealth field.

> DAMAGE RECEIVED: 12.7%. MINIMAL DAMAGE. RESUMING FIGHTING. TARGET STEALTHED. POWER SOURCE DETECTOR ACTIVE.
>>
Another idea

The 10th company of the Talons of Corvus chapter functions almost the same as other codex adherent chapters. Once the recruits are deemed worthy they can either stay with 10th company as Scout sergeants or become fully pledged battle brothers.
With the exception of that the most charismatic, strong willed and loyal initiates are chosen to become Brother-Confessors.

Brother-Confessors work directly beneath the guidance of the Chapter Chaplains. They shun the use of the iconic astartes power armor to allow them to disguise themselves as normal imperial citizens. They are planted within a target planets populace to sow unrest, destabilize an enemy faction or prepare and lead an uprising. They are the chapters unseen blow against the enemy of the God-emperor. Dealing decisive and crippling blows before a single bolter round is fired.
>>
>>44019066
If Burst Cannons did not work, then sheer brutality would. The Ghostkeel activated its engines and flew towards the marine. The suits' stealth field deactivated since the damnable cyborg was capable of seeing him now. The marine lift his claws and two las-weapons it had came to life. A hailstorm of crimson red laser shots filled the space between the two, and the Ghostkeel took the brunt to the chest. The A.I. blared warnings.

> CRITICAL DAMAGE TO CHEST ELEMENTS. MULTIPLE HIGH INTENSITY SHOTS ARE PIERCING THE HULL.

If it were not for the Electrowrafare Suite and Holophoton Countermeasures, then it would have been much worse. The suit already came up close enough that the marine ceased to shoot and readied himself to defend. The XV95's strength was more than enough to pulverize even a Space Marine with a single punch, so where the burst cannons failed, the punch would do the trick.

The Ghostkeel pilot released a powerful punch at the astartes, but to his surprise, the marine minimally moved aside to the pilot's left and simply caught the punch.

> REDIRECTING SUNSTORM REPEATER AND SHADOW-ORB POWER TO CYBERNETICS. INCREASING STRENGTH OUTPUT BY 50%.

With that said, the pilot saw as the claws the marine was armed with were cutting into the suit.

> Is he trying to rip my arm off? - thought the alien as he saw the screen his A.I. was showing that the marine was putting enormous strain on his punching arm. - FINE BY ME GUE'LA!

With a roar, the suit flew with the marine into the sky high above the city. Engaged in a desperate melee, the XV95 tried to plunge the marine to his doom, but the cyborg clung to him like some kind of Tyranid Ripper...
>>
>>44019500
I like that idea. Gonna have to include it.

Though there will be a difference between a Confessor Chaplain and a Brother-Confessor.
>>
>>44019575
Alright. i'll try to squeeze some more milk from our Nod cow.

The chapters 1st company and especially Kane's elite guards the Black-Hand, is both a spectacular and terrifying sight to behold. This terminator armored Astartes are among the chapters most zealous members. They stride among the battlefield scourging the enemies of the Emperor. Clad adamantine cloaks and wielding heavy flamers. They are only called upon in the most dire of situations, their purifying wrath and zealous reverence to Kane and the Emperor had always turned the the tide of countless battles to victory.

Woe to those that incur the cleansing light of the Black-hand.
>>
>>44019548
> Get off of me gue'la maniac!!

> REACHING HIGH ALTITUDE. PROBABILITY OF SURVIVING: 1.23%. SWITCHING TO APPROPRIATE COUNTERMEASURES. - and all in a sudden, the artificial voice became more natural, yet still with a cold cybernetic tone - Alien, time to end this.

This was yet another surprise the Shas'Vre experienced. Not letting himself be confused by it, the Tau activated his Burst Cannons again to shoot off his adversary, but the marine was faster and dodged by pulling himself lower, under the suit's arm. The black armored marine rammed his claw up the suit's chest. The Tau barely managed to dodge it as the darn claws dug deep into the suit. To make matters worse, the front screen was offline. The marine, using the shock the alien experienced, rammed his other claw into the massive stealthsuit's joint. In a short amount of time, the suit's arm was literally ripped off.

With the sudden loss of the arm, the battlesuit was completely off balance this time. Without its Fusion Collider, he could fly higher, but without an arm, his balance was compromised. The marine meanwhile readied himself to finish this.

> Rerouting power to balanced mode. Sunstorm Repeaters fully charged. - with that, the marine rammed his free arm into the suit's chest yet again, but this time in such manner that the las-pistols faced one of the holes he made.

> Great T... - before he could finish, the pilot's chest was bombarded with a series of las-shots, killing him outright.

Now the marine needed to find a way to save himself, since now that the pilot was dead, the Ghostkeel was dropping down really fast. The cyborg realized that through this whole insane duel, the Stealth Drones were following them even up to the skies. Calculating the possible distance and moment of jump with the logic engine in his head, and putting everything else into the Emperor's fortune, the marine jumped off the Ghostkeel towards the nearest Stealth Drone.
>>
>>44019820
I'd say that we should change the name a little so to not copy everything from C&C.

The Blackened Hands of Kane would be fitting.

They'd be both part of the 1st Company as well as the Honour Guards of the Chapter tasked with both purging and spearheading the assaults when the more traditional methods of stealth and precision strikes wouldn't cut it. Flamethrowers and Cyclone Missile Launchers are their main weapons, and they use them with terrifying efficiency. So much in fact that a precise teleport assault in the right place at the right time was more than enough to change the tide in favor of the Talons of Corvus and their allies.

The Sternguards and Vanguards of the Blackened Hands of Kane are the precision scalpel to their Terminator counterpart's destructive sledgehammer.

Mostly armed with Stalkers Boltguns (even combi versions of them) and modified Bolt Pistols as their basic weapons, these warriors snipe down their enemies and commence devastating hit and run tactics that leave the enemy either dead or bleeding before he can react.
>>
>>44019893
The claws successfully buried themselves into the nearest drone. Now instead of falling down, the fall was much slower than usually, but still he would end up as a bloody smear. Yet a chance was still around, as one of the towers was near his fall trajectory. The cyborg steered the drone as near as he could, and by using the momentum combined with shaking the drone strongly enough, he jumped towards the tower with lightning claws readied.

The marine buried his claws into the steel walls. The speed and mass of his gave the results when he was sliding down, yet with each second the momentum was slowing down until he finally stopped. If it were not for the claws of his being this massive, then they would have broke in an instant. The cyborg turned to see where the Ghostkeel fell. Using his cybernetic eyes, he saw a smoking crater and twisted metal. None of it was scrappable. He activated his vox.

> High Templar, the mission was partially successful. The insurgent forces are moving onwards unhindered by the Tau, yet the XV95 was destroyed in the fight. Nothing salvageable was left.

> Do not trouble yourself brother Moritat. There will be another chance. Concentrate for now on that the march will arrive to its destination unhindered. - said the voice on the other side of the vox - Both Kane and The Emperor want justice on the planetary governor and the Tau occupants. Initiate a seek and destroy run in case any Fire Warrior was around.

> As ordered High Templar.

The situation was fatal for the Tau. Not only did they fail to contain the mobs, there were too little of the Fire Warrior cadre members to even mount proper defences. The Ethereal decide that this planet was lost, and that the Tau would evacuate back to the borders of their Empire. Yet the loss of the planet was not enough, for there was a blockade established by the Imperial Navy. The Tau fleet was barely holding out to make sure the evacuating troops would get safely out...
>>
>>44020827
> We must hasten the evacuation Shas'O. The fleet cannot withstand this much punishment from the Imperials.

> We will evacuate noble Aun'el. The Orca Dropships are already close. We need to wait for now.

Both Shas'O Mon'wern'a and Aun'el T'Hovass were locked in the main stronghold close to the governor's palace awaiting along with the surviving Fire Warriors. The planet was already lost and the Tau beaten. None of them wanted to live on a planet that rejected the Greater Good. The governor would also need to live with it somehow...and probably he won't survive the experience when the Imperials will march into the palace.

> Tell me Shas'O, did the governor actually tried to contact us?

> We tried to contact him, but the comms are currently being jammed between us and the outside. I fear the worst has happened.

> Pity... - the Aun said it in a saddened voice - This whole planet seems like it was too early for it to know about the Greater Good. We'll come here one day yet again, this time with a larger Cadre.

> Indeed Aun. Now we should go. The Orcas are beginning to land.

The two Tau along their four Shas'Ui escorts walked to the landing zone to await the transports. The Orca ships were already visible from afar and the Tau thought they could abandon the place...THEY WERE WRONG.

In a sudden turn of events, a crimson beam hit one of the ships and blew it off the sky. A second later another Orca was blown away.

> Great T'au preserve us... - the Aun was horrified at this turn of events - Shas'O, call them off.

> I think that it will be useless xeno. - voice came from behind the Tau, and in an instant all the four Shas'Ui were shot in an instant - It will be better for you if you two become our prisoners.

Shas'O Mon'wern'a and Aun'el T'Hovass saw as their Shas'Ui escorts were instantaneously killed off. When they turned to face their assailants, they saw who they were.

> Space Marines... - said Mon'wern'a in a cold tone.
>>
>>44021633
> Indeed Shas'O Mon'wern'a of T'au. - replied the space marine - You and the Aun'el are to come with us and face judgement for trying to corrupt this planet of Arret.

The Space Marine and his escort were in white and black armors. The torsos, belts and helmets were white, while the rest of their armor were black. The leader that was speaking had the face encasing part of his helmet completely black. The leader was armed with a power sword and a combi-flamer, whereas all the others had combi-flamer. All of them had a red talon on the left pauldron, while on the right they had a characteristic cross, whereas the leader had a skull.

> I do not see anything unjust in you planet wanting to join our Empire, zealot - replied the Ethereal, whereas the marine was unfazed with this reaction - Who are you that you are judging us for wanting to give your people enlightenment?

> Aun, now it is not the time for it. - replied the Shas'O and turned to the marines - Just how did they entered this place? There should be still some Fire Warriors guarding the place.

> Well Aun'el and Shas'O... - said the leader with some smug in his voice - There is nothing like a good power override would resolve our problems. This was foolish of your warriors to stand near a power source when we hacked in...and when it comes to my name, it is High Templar Krashos of the Talons of Corvus for you.

The marine visibly paused when he saw something appearing behind the Tau. A black Storm Bird appeared from the sky and was slowly nearing the platform. Mon'wern'a readied his Ion Blaster.

> I would not try it Shas'O. - spoke Krashos - Especially when we all have Vengeance rounds that can penetrate that fancy Battlesuit of yours. - Krashos turned to T'Hovass - And if it goes for your question, then I will tell you that your Greater Good is nothing but a lie, just as Kane has spoken.
>>

Sorry people, dunno how should I end it.

Next time I'll try and do it.
>>
>>44022196
It's OK. See ya next thread.
