I stare at Lily, who's pouting at the edge of the kitchen near the fridge and a couple of empty bottles of wine.

"So what's wrong with succubut over there?" I ask leaning over the back of my chair, tipping it slightly as the blonde haired girl sighs angrily "Also you seem... calmer today, the hell did you do with thomas"

"First off, fuck you thomas for teaching her to call me that" Lily says angrily "and if you were wondering kitten, the headmaster took away one of my...toys"

"Yeah, that crazy bitch who woke me up a week or so ago" Thomas says flatly, picking at the counter "and I just woke up, so I need some time to get properly pissed at everything"

"Oh, well while we wait for you to gather steam, mind if I ask how you'd kill me" I ask tipping back farther, staring at the ceiling as my tails curl around my waist

"Oooho" Thomas chuckles, leaning towards me as I look back down "Simple, you're like me, being dead has given you a pair of brass balls, but from what I understand you were always like that, I'd wear you down, since you're too proud to turn tail and run, and besides that, I'd load up on silver, holy water, garlic, catnip and lewd pictures to make sure I come out on top, so how would you kill me then?"

"Eat your soul" I say shrugging, putting my arms behind my head as I stick my feet under the counter, the metal chair swaying back and forth under me "easiest way to do it, and it'd be easy to rile you up, and all I'd need is one mistake"

"Oh cocky are we?" He says with a smirk as the boy stares at us, petrified with fear and disgust "and what makes you think you'd get one"

"Because I'm faster than you" I say holding out my hand as I grin and start to giggle, as I slowly call out one of the arms of the souls trapped in me, a bloodstained hand with painted nails slowly rising out of my palm before I close my fist, smashing it back into blood

"Oh well sucks to be you" I say as I spin around in the chair, stepping off of it with my tails slowly uncurling from my stomach as I do so

"Oh god fuck yourself" Thomas groans as he picks the chair back up and sits back down in it, rubbing his back

"Oh I think I will, in the country that I OWN!" I say with a smug grin as I point my thumb to my chest as I walk out of the room "Well see you two around I guess"

I don't pay attention to see if they respond or ignore me as much as I'm ignoring them, doesn't really matter to me either way. I and besides, I think to myself as I walk into the main room of the dorms, Maria should be done with her shower now, and I don't want to be away for too long.

I smile as I walk up the stairs, past that blind girl Emily, who's reading a book as I walk by.

she doesn't seem to notice me, so I keep walking and turn to the right, walking down the hallway to my favorite room in this whole school.

And the double doors leading to it are unlocked, some things never change I guess. I push them open and walk in to find the love of my unlife sitting on the couch, watching the television, sucking on a bag of blood, with her wings wrapped around herself.

She smiles as she turns to look at me, and says something I can't quite hear.

I smile and then grin.

"Hey Mariaaa, do you want to run that poison club thing?" I ask, tilting my head "I mean if you aren't doing anything"

"Can it wait till the suns gone?" She asks, pulling the bag from her mouth "I don't like being outside when it's up, it makes me feel...wrong, I don't know how you can deal with it Layla"

"Well, if you change your mind, I'll be at the club for awhile, or until I get bored, don't know" I say as I walk through the room, closing and locking the doors behind myself before I do.

It doesn't matter, now does it? I mean sure it's a bit annoying but I will admit it does look alot better than it used to. I sigh and walk through the strangley open doors, and walk up the stairs, stepping over a root the size of my legs as I do so.

I hum to myself as I walk down the hall way of floating orbs of light and walk into the only part of the building that I've seen so far that isn't covered in plant life or completely destroyed.

I smile and walk into it, noticing the small chalkboard someone put on the wall to set up dates for the club, and I know I didn't put it here.

I sigh and start to pick through my various ingredients, getting ready to set up for the club.

I yawn, rubbing my eyes as I look up at the blue blue sky. hmm I guess I fell asleep, well can't blame myself, it is a wonderful summer day and napping is much funner than reading, but still I probably should get back home before Marla comes looking for me again and.

I slowly push the tall grass away and peek through. standing in a small clearing, is a girl in a light blue dress with rabbit ears and tail, her hair long and black, and her eyes covered with a pair of blue glasses.

I leap towards her, wrapping my arms around her, making her squeak in surprise as I lift the kind of short girl up.

"Hiii" I say teasingly as I tug on her ears

I pout as I look done at Maria, I don't want to let her go, what if she doesn't come back. I squeeze her tighter and stand up, looking towards my family's manor home and then back at her. Her lip quivers, as she whimpers again.

"Pleeease, my sister will get worried if I'm late" She says, tugging on my sleeve as her legs hang in the air.

"Fine, but I'm coming with you" I say as I put her back on the ground gently "can't have you getting hurt now can I"

"Er...okay!" She says happily as she grabs my hand, pointing to an old log sticking out of the dirt, hollow and empty "Well it's just over here, and we don't have much time to waste"

"Okay, lead the way then" I say happily as she walks towards the log that seems to get bigger as we get closer to it.

She leads me through it, mushrooms, glowing roses and crawling thorns creeping along the inside it like bugs and other nasty things. I stare at them, kind of confused as it starts to get colder and wetter in here.

She stays by my side, seeming to be a bit afraid of all the dark around us.

I look up at a trio of mushrooms spinning around in a dance with tiny little arms held out to hold eachothers hand's as they spin and twirl around.

"Why'd it get so big all of a sudden?" I ask as tug Maria a bit closer

"Oh?" She says looking around, her brown eyes shining slightly in the light of the roses and mushrooms "It did, I didn't notice"

"Yeah" I say as I see a hole in front of us and pick up the cute little bunny, making her squeak and smile as I step over it, I try to put it down, but she holds onto my arm, smiling happily "So where are we going anyways?"

"Oh the castle of hearts, it isn't far...but we may have to take the long way?" She says, sounding a bit worried now as she kicks her feet back and forth

"And why would we have to do that?" I ask as hug her tightly, as we finally reach the end of the log and walk into a sunny forest with weird purple and red trees that seem to dance and hum in the wind

"Well the mad hatter isn't exactly the nicest person you could meet on a walk" She says as she pulls herself back up so she doesn't fall out of my hug "he's really mean"

"Oh don't worry little bunny, I'll protect you and keep you nice and safe" I say as I squeeze her again "Even from old mad hatters"

"..but I don't have a home, and who said you could come over if I did?" She asks, trying to pull her watch out while still being held by me, but giving up pretty quickly

"Okaay I think I can see what you mean now, Maria" I say, I might have a made a bad choice here "So...who do you have to meet anyways"

"Oh the one armed queen" She says cheerfully "I need to give him some reports"

"Wait...the queen is a man?" I ask tiltling my head as I slowly walk past the sign

You know, I probably should stay away from this hatter fellow, he seems like someone I wouldn't want to meet. I crouch down, holding Maria close to my chest, her ears brushing up against my face as I cautiously walk around the edge of the house.

I grin as I start to run to keep up with them, pulling Maria up and into my arms as I do so. I keep running, running through a bunch of honking flowers that try to grab my legs and pull me down, but I've already ran past them and over a small stream of what looks like gravel.

The cat giggles, running right behind me as I pick up speed running down a literal rolling hill of black and white checkered grass.

I smile, before the cat witch grabs the back of my shirt and forces me to stop.

"Er..fluffy, which way to the castle again?" She asks, sounding a bit worried as a sign pointing left and right rises out of the ground

Maria tries to say something, but I can't understand it with how much she's panting from being carried by someone running over and through everything.

I look down the left side and smell the sea and hear the sound of hammering, I look to the left and smell paint and..smoke?

Though I admit its a bit too padded HM, but I want to see Fraust before we wake up.

I shrug and start to walk down the the right path, the trees slowly turning a weird black but when I get closer to them I realize they're covered in some weird kind of powder.

I look up and see the castle, filled with holes and smoking I gasp, and almost ask what happened, before I realize that from the expressions of my companions' faces that it was probably like this already

I keep walking towards the half destroyed castle as a booming laugh echos through the air as I get closer to to it, Maria hugs me and closes her eyes as the cat witch laughs happily as the wooden gates of the castle blow off and a giant man with a man of blonde hair and one arm walks out, wearing a torn and barely fitting red dress.

"AAAAAAAH VISITORS" He shouts happily "OH NOW ISN'T THIS A SUUUURPRISE, BUT WHAT ARE YA'LL DOING TRESPASSING ON ROYAL GROUND HMMM!???"

Maria tries to say something but she just blubbers and whimpers

What do I do?

You feelinmg too tired or being unwell has become increasingly common since you started doing 4 quests per week HM. Just saying.
I like all four of your quests but I don't think running all 4 of them every week is necessarily a good idea.

I gasp and bolt up, glaring and wondering what just woke me up from my dream. I growl as I see Kimberly standing next to me, holding a phone in her hand, covering her mouth with the other

"Kimberly" I say smiling as I get off the couch "You better pray you can outrun me, because just woke me up from a very nice dream"

"S..sorry mistress" She shouts as she snaps her hands and vanishes in a puff of smoke.

Damn now I've got to actually track her down. I growl, angry that I lost a dream I can barely remember and now have one more thing to do before I can run the club

From a different angle, the threads tend to be a lot better the more you planned it out, maybe thats a good reason to take it slower.

Could have been better paced though, HM kinda lost sight of the pacing, it should have been more of a character per update to keep it short.

Pacing is HMs biggest weakness overall though so its not like we didn't know the dream would take up the thread when we voted for it.

The AU stuff is certainly hit and miss, some of it tends to be quite good, but I agree that most of the time i doesn't lend itself to a regular update format.

There had been good ones like dragonEli and Alt.Maria, so I wouldn't agree it shouldn't happen at all anymore.

Vampire hunter Maria was good, but it wasn't with votes which made it a lot better.
Part of why I didnt vote for it here, becauzse it would have probably made it worse than Hm just making a write-up after thread.

I definitly have to disagree with that, I agree maybe a lot, possibly most, of the "pick one" AU stuff are usually not good, but there have been pretty good ones too. So it certainly worth trying.
The main problem is really that its hard to tell what lends itself to a good quest beforehand, and HM sometimes offers choices he hasn't really thought through where to go with.
I definitly like seeing AU options, even if they should be a rarity.
