Anera, Maiden of the Eternal Song

Goddess of music, young love, travel, and protection.

She is the guardian of the world and the keeper of the song, that keeps the beast Kayerith from rising once again. Those who are blessed with the music from Anera know beyond there mortal thought lies music so profound and powerful that even deities quake at its sound.

Here followers are that of bards, young couples, and young knights.

Lucira, the Seduced; the Fallen Angel

As human mothers warn their daughters about the actions of past, possibly apocryphal individuals to induce good behavior, the story of Lucira, the Fallen Angel, was used among angels as a cautionary tale to never waver in their condemnations, to allow no quarter and no respite.

In ages shrouded in mist, Lucira was a mighty angellic champion. In time, she was sent to slay a twisted and foul demoness. What she found, however, was strong enough to rebuff her initial attacks, so Lucira waited, and watched, and clashed with the succubus frequently. She grew to know her opponent, her quarry, and pridefully refused to summon additional angels to prevail through sheer force of numbers.

As Lucira watched, she too was watched, and the demoness she hunted grew to like what she saw. Their battles grew less violent, with more jibes and barbs, and eventually came a "battle" where their swords did not cross, they simply warily circled one another, each waiting for the other to make the first strike. Soon came conversation, then an exchange of views. Their clash had lasted for centuries, but they went from dancing around one another, blades drawn, to intimately conversing with one another, on a familiar first-name basis, in wide, comfortable chairs before a roaring fire, in the span of months.

Lucira eventually suggested that she could tolerate the demon's existence, if the demoness could give up her habit of preying upon mortals. The demoness, in turn, concluded that she could be made to be as Lucira wanted her, if Lucira could be with her.

(cont.)
>>
>>43924379
Angels say that Lucira let the demoness speak, and so was seduced. The truth is that they seduced one another. Lucira gave herself happily to the demoness's virile lusts, and felt the same blossom in herself; before their first tryst was over, she was giving as good as she recieved. In turn, the succubus learned Lucira's righteousness, charity, protectionism.

Eventually, other angels came to see what had happened. Lucira explained to them that they weren't needed, and that her demoness was fully under control. They went away, and came back with a large host. Lucira fought to protect her lover, but they were both subdued. Sickeningly, the other angels realized that, foul as she might be, the demoness DID have something angelic in her, and so they could not simply slay her. Instead she and Lucira were imprisoned, far, far from one another; the demoness deep beneath the stone, Lucira in an ugly, otherworldly iron citadel high atop a mountain, left only to cry for her lost love and the cruel injustice that left her so bound, when her strength permitted.

It is whispered in rumors that Yserafel could hear Lucira's cries, and once she freed herself, the next time Lucira gathered the strength to cry, the one angel would be able to fly to the other, perhaps to free her.

I got an idea but can't find a good picture for it.

Yal-Hagur, Thirsting God, Lord of Dust and Ashes.

Yal-Hagur was born of dust and ash in times unknown. His conception was that of dry things burning together into each other and knowing only thirst from his day of birth. He traveled to lush forests to suck them dry and dive in lakes, turning them into deserts and pits of gravel. He traveled more and more, sucking dry everything he came across, but nothing could sate his thirst. In his wake other creatures of dust and ash were born, also thirsting eternally. It was then when Yal-Hagur came across a living creature. It looked wet and full of water, so Yal-Hagur sucked the creature dry and finally, for a moment, he know satisfaction. It was not water he was after, but the other liquid of life: blood. He now wants blood, more blood than anything in the world could provide. He is now an enemy, an entity of death and destruction who only seeks to make the world dry to satisfy himself of the eternal thirst that ravages his body.

Given The Nymphs Council, the creation of new Gods is extremely rare.

However, we have few Gods who have managed to Ascend: Myrea herself, Barak Tuth and The Laughing God (Although he probably became a Eternal Primordial in some other way to save his friends).

We also have few events of the mortal world which we know, and therefore can create a rough history of our world - which still lacks a name!

She looks bit elvish..

Anera was the patron of the Elves of Tidrom.

She and Cindylla are good friends and have a elder-younger sister dynamic, despite Anera being far more older than Sohais daughter-wife.

There's this pantheon I made for a world I'm building from scratch for all my future campaigns. It's kind of shitty but eh, it's what you'd expect from a first try at doing that sort of thing and from someone who is an inexperienced DM. Since you guys might get something out of it, here are some of them:

Sol, God of Creation and Time
Thought to be the most important of all gods, it has been passed down ever since the first generation that Sol is the one responsible for creating everything, including the other gods. Having been the only one born from the Great Void and never appearing to the mortals, very little is known about it.
Because it never meddles in mortal affairs, being concerned with the universe as a whole, Sol has almost no followers. He is represented by the Sun.

Eorlund the Fair, God of Justice and Politics
A god made to make sure mortals wouldn't have unfair advantages over others or commit crimes and go unpunished, Eorlund is the embodiment of Justice. In the early years, he watched over the mortals, looking for disputes. Whenever he found one, he would settle it himself. He would also go all over the world teaching the principles of fairness and justice.
As the mortals grew more powerful and technologically advanced, he would give a very small part of his power to worthy people so they could act as his agents. They are mostly Paladins, having served for many years and distinguished themselves both in battle and outside of it, but Judges and Senators, although uncommon, also make up for a part of his agents. He is revered and followed only in Human and Dwarf lands.

(cont.)
>>
>>43925321
Emir, Goddess of Freedom, Luck and Chaos
Also one of the primordial gods, she gave mortals free will when they were created, so that they would not be mere puppets to the gods. Being a primordial being, little is known about Emir, even though she shows up to mortals sometimes.
Because she rules over Chaos, it is theorized by some scholars that she is actually more powerful than Sol, having maybe even created him and maybe ended the previous world for reasons unknown, but no one has ever seen the true extent of her powers, so the mystery remains.
She is revered by all races, being one of the few gods with such privileges.

His influence present in temptations of lies, thoughts of betrayal.
Never passing an oportunity he spreds as much of lies, chaos and unrest as he can. Betraying and lying for ints own sake.
He has no physical form to speak of, incarnate in concepts he embodies. Though he is usually depicted as humanoid in hooded cloak with burning red eyes and dagger in hand.

During the Age of Lore, the legends were written down for the first time, often displaying things in weird names and occurrences no-one mentions afterwards. Worship of Myrea the Queen of Tears is strong, as is Arimues.
Strangely Xizamere is mentioned only few times and mostly as a foreign king, not a God.
Were they so easily deceived in those days, or was the Kingdom of Lore among the Gods?

Of course many of these first legends were lost during the ravages of time, but the surviving display the gods in curiously different light.
Particularly interesting are legends about happenings what are described, but are missing certain Gods who appear in later editions.

Huh, this thing is still running.

There should be an age of darkness of roughtly 1000 years long fitted in somewhere chronologically. Or at least an overlapping period, known for its increase in undead events and activity.

Yserafel/Lucira* Writer here.

Tiranel, the Muse; Avatar of Progress

Tiranel is hard exactly to pin down. She's too anthropomorphized to be considered a primordial, she receives worship and can bestow boons to those who venerate her like a god, but has no massive host of angelic followers. When she walks the world, she doesn't cause any great twisting of reality, and is in fact quite weak, capable of little more than a demigod or a weak divine servant. She can even be slain or imprisoned - and several times has been - but no prison, not even destruction, can hold her forever. She'll be back.

The Avatar of Progress always appears wearing high-quality garb and bearing high-quality equipment which are a technical revolution or two ahead of the curve where she appears. In an era or place where primitive skins and stone tools are the norm, she will appear with fabric garb and bronze weapons. In an era of sword and crossbow, she will show up with musket and rapier, or possibly revolver and shotgun.

Tiranel is the venerated of inventors and dreamers. She frequently goes on adventures when she walks the plane like a mortal, participating wholeheartedly in all aspects of mortal life - acquiring wealth, gambling, gathering power, having sex, winning or losing, she cares not. She never grants knowledge or inventions directly, and asking for such is the fastest way to earn her ire. those who pray to her for inspiration on their own will often find themselves rewarded with bursts of energy and focus they require to experiment. Some followers have been granted boons of advanced technology or arcane proofs to reverse-engineer and learn from on their own.

*Lucira was actually inspired by an OC a friend of mine made to go with Ysera.

Primordials are linked to the fabric of the universe, concepts and overarching forces, twisting of reality is on a case by case basis. e.g. The laughing god can pop in pretty much anywhere since its his role to protect the fabric of reality from tearing a new one. And appears as just a smiling laughing guy eating salad.
Ballan Sur does not cause everyone to drop dead when he pops by, or hell scapes and screaming.

So long as your powerful enough and linked to the basics of reality or overarching concepts which change reality then your primordial.

Arimue is a distinctly separate entity to Tiranel, but they bear striking resemblances in actions and causes, but in different ways.
Where Tiranel might might introduce a new way to grow crops or get rid of waste for the betterment of society, Arimue would innovate the outlook of society in certain ways.

Their similarities do provoke speculation as to Tiranel's origin, but she does not invoke a global enrichment whenever she visits the realm of mortals and must actively seek to improve their lives, unlike Arimue whose domain seeps into the subconscious of all mortals with her passing.

Once upon a time, the gods converged. For Tispakal had called them together to ask them: What is the name of our world? It had been called many names by mortals and gods alike, but surely it would have one Proper name?

Gods and Primordials first talked, then argued and then began to fight.
Just as Myrea was about to draw her sword and start a real war, The Laughing God, her former lover, stopped eating his salad for a moment and said: "Why not just name the world Saladia and call it a day?"

And then he disappeared in a puff of laughter.

Aimee Tiraneldottir, The Innovator

Aimee is the daughter of Tiranel, quite literally; Tiranel allowed herself to become pregnant during a particularly drunken tryst at some point and survived in that incarnation long enough to give birth. The only godly qualities she has inherited from her mother are her unending nature (kill her or imprison her, she'll be back,) and her mother's abilities to instantly restore any device to working order, and conjure any required fuel or ammunition for any devices in her possession.

Despite her best efforts, she has never yet been able to invent anything properly new, which is a great frustration to Aimee and a disappointment to Tiranel, but Aimee is a prolific innovator; give her an arcane spell and she can very rapidly disseminate variants, give her a technological base that supports a given device and she can very rapidly produce new devices that operate off the same or similar fundamental principles. Aimee spends much of her time searching for those her mother has bestowed advanced technology or magic on, to acquire said advanced device or arcane theorum (by means fair if possible, but foul if not,) hoping to claim it for herself, either to put it to practical use personally, or to study it in the hopes of being the one to reverse engineer it and thus advance society. her mother finds this very amusing.

Yal-hagur writer here, I think I've got a good one for the connection with tispakal.

Fate had decreed a disaster Unparalleled to any before it and It fell to tispakal to make it true, yet he had no control over disastrous powers. Only dust was his medium to the mortal world, but not much can be achieved with covering things in dirt. Tispakal in a fit of frustration simply gathers the dust collected onto his shrines and attempts to give it a form of a scourged sandstorm to no avail. Sweat falls from his brow on the from exhaustion. The drop disappears into the pile and for second gives it form. Tispakal sweats more and finally from the dust a figure is birthed, a spindly creature with blood in it's veins or water to satisfy it's thirst. Tispakal's cultists call the creature Yal-hagur, thirsting God in a dead tongue.

was a bit rude of me.
But still, I was answering! I just had a demigod to go with it, and you ninja'd me on my own contribution without clarifying your weren't the one who made Tiranel.

Anyway, Tiranel does NOT directly introduce new ways to grow crops or get rid of waste. She requires that mortals invent on their own, lest they become stagnant and rely upon her for advancements. She might give someone something too advanced for them to reproduce, in the hopes that they will learn from its principles and develop something new that they CAN reproduce, but she will never simply give them "the next tech." She won't teach a society which already works with iron how to make steel, for instance, though she might give an ironworker a steel tool. Or maybe a breach-loading rifle.

"So let me tell a story, child, since you were so kind to offer a drink to this blathering old man. You see, when I had about your age and barely knew how make knots I dreamt to sail the sea and, by the Judge, so I did. I have spent more time on a ship than I did on the land, but no years were as good as when I worked under Sanvar, the great pirate. Oh, don't look at me like that now... have a look at this. Oh yea, it was his own, anyone could recognize it, right? And unfortunately it is the only thing left of him, but perhaps it is better like this. You see, they always said he had Ura's favor but I know the truth, for I saw him pray to the whore goddess of the ocean. And for every ship he wrecked, he would always dump some of the loot in the sea for his patron, but the most he took for himself. And this was his ruin. You see... that day the sea was calm and flat like a board, I swear on the leg I don't have anymore, no island to be seen, no cloud, nor even a small flimsy wave, aight? And then suddenly one of the men fell overboard, like this, hop! Down in the water. We thought he was drunk... and then another jumped down. I could swear I saw him jump, a manic glint in his eyes, you see? Now the crew gets pretty spooked out right, because the two men disappeared in the water like droplets in the ocean, without a sound. This is starting to pick your interest, eh? Well everyone was pretty spooked I said, but nothing else happens. Yes nothing at all, and I mean nothing. The wind stops too, the ship just stays there, on the spot, not moving one inch. Well it happens sometimes right? We just wait for the next day and then it happens again. Two more men out of board without nary a warning. Now rhe captain comes out of the cabin and looks haunted, I have seen him angry, furious, and everything else but afraid? That was news to me. He strolls around shouting orders, do that, make a knot here, helm there but the ship? It stays where it is and won't budge!

It's okay dude. I shouldn't have snapped so dismissively, I just wanted to get that in before someone took stuff I hadn't intended for Tiranel as gospel.

Sorry.
Hrm... I wonder what Arimue thinks of her niece Aimee?

She would definitely be amused by her but not say anything. As is her decree, she'd let Aimee imagine whatever she wanted about their relations, but never confirm nor deny anything definitely to her as she keeps working on the next masterpiece of her whims.

Also, almost done working on collecting the misc. lore of Saladia.

Et-Tarsis, the Ever-Ready

Goddess of vigilance and preparation, she stands guard at the gates of heaven. No one is quite sure exactly when she appeared nor where she came from, but she has never failed in her duties for as long as anyone can remember. She is revered by guards and soldiers and rewards those who are true to her ways with enhanced senses and increased endurance.

After two days of this happening men can not take it anymore. They start to tie themselves up to the ship itself, never go around alone, and worst of all, they try to remain sober, there no worst thing han a sober pirate for a captain, because when your men are sober enough to think straight, they start questioning. As of the fourt day, we had lost 13 men, eight out of board, and five killed by the captain. And about him oh boy, if you think you know how's the stare of a panicked man, think again. Eventually I got why he was so panicked but hey, wait for it.
So the wind, aight? Suddenly it starts blowing again, and everyone cheers. Maybe that bloody sacrifice was just some kind of fee, uh? Well lucky us that we're still alive, and let's get the heck away from here. Were we wrong... in the morning, the wind was barely enough to push the ship forward, at the dusk it was literally tearing the ship apart. I have seen them all, boy, such a storm doesn't start so suddenly, it was clear that something else was at work. Poured so much rain we could barely see each other, and that's why it took us a bit to realize that something was snatching the crew away one by one. Now after say, the fourth cry that ends all of a sudden, we all go to the captain. Mighty captain, brave captain and so on, do something and save this gods forsaken ship. I saw it in his eyes, he knew what he was foing on, because after a second of doubting, he ran to his cabin and starts flinging every goods he had there in the sea. And I mean, everything of value, even a goddamn chair he stole somewhere in the south with golden... but I digress. No dice, the ship starts rolling on itself, and then I see this thing, it was all leathery fins and wings, a mouthful of needles 10 inches long, must have been 9 feet from head to tail, it snatches the captain and disappears into the sea just before the whole ship breaks in two, in the middle.
And then I woke up on the shore, alone.

Other scholars say Et-Tarsises weapons are relics of Taj Yr Akna, who provided them to her to help guard the Havens Gates agains Mortals and Beasts.

It is known that Red En Rev no more challenges Et-Tarsis, so many times she has bested it.

Oh have I searched near and far, but no one else made it out alive. Ura claimed the ship, and everything it was on it, everyone as well... the captain had too much of a treasure for his fickle goddess to ignore it. Now I am sure, she let him life enough to acquire a loot big enough to be wprthy of her and then, claimed it. Let me tell you, anyone who even thinks of asking her favor must be screwed in the head, for she only gives when she can take more.
Me, I am not sure why I made it out alive, or how. Maybe Ura wanted someone to tell this story. Out of pride maybe? Or maybe I was saved by something else. I guess I will never know, but I never forgot to pray to Alina every single day of my life after that...
What now, with that smile? Y'think this is just the rambling of an old fool? Ah, but you'll see, yes, just put your feet on a ship one day. And now, I can not but notice my glass is empty..."

On heaven and the passage of souls.

When you die, your soul is taken. Now, depending on who you worship, different things happen and you go to different places, this is the rewards that the gods decree for their followers.

Heavens if your lucky, hells if your not, but ultimately everyone ends up in the underworld to be reincarnated. Some just get there faster than others. Those who worship the god of death directly, or have no worship to anyone at all, end up there pretty much immediatley, for Ballan Sur accepts all souls into the gates of his realm, to march towards reincarnation.

Now the question is, how does one end up from a heaven, coming to the underworld?

The reason is simple. Ballan Sur and some of his shadowy minions, personally collects the honoured dead who's alloted time in paradise has come to a close. For the soul must return to the flow of life, and the balance must be maintained. There are no exceptions, and every god knows this.

Without it, all would grind to a halt, no souls means no new births, not just for people, but plants, animals and even some species of fey and spirits. Those who die would rise as the undead and the world would fall into stagnation and ruin. This is the reason for Ballan Sur's existance, to ensure that the world turns with life. Neither caring of good or evil, so long as the balance is maintained.

Myrea with her sad terror?
The Laughing God and his insane tricks?
Sirach, his fall and his childern?
The Many gods of Death and Imprisoment?
Demigods, fighting against all others?

Beryl Di'Namic, Elfmother; First Progenitor of nonhuman races.

Humans were the first race, at least, according to the canon law of all human deities' religions. Elves were the second.

In fact, this is true. Beryl Di'Namic was once human; once a priestess, then a queen. Her grace and beauty were legendary, such that even those who loathed her could not help but admire her, and a legion of women of lesser beauty who were jealous of her claimed she was a goddess, inhuman; obviously they could not be expected to compete with a goddess.

This amused The Laughing God so much that he made it so, elevating Beryl to godhood, and giving her the power and authority to create new races.

The benign, albeit amused, Beryl, decided to make her first race in her new image; possessed of great grace and beauty, ageless and above such mundanities as ordinary diseases, and without coarseness or overt masculinity. She initially wanted to give these gifts to all people, but The True Judge forbade her from changing humanity to such a fundamental extent.

Naturally, elves are not well-liked by most humans; they are equal to or better than humans in every way; superior in most ways that are trivial (you will never hear an elf fart, for instance,) and equal in most material ways (an elf is no stronger or more intelligent, on average, than a human,) but humans will be jealous. This frustrates elves a great deal, as Beryl's nature instills them with charity and love, and most elves would by nature be quite happy to be friends and advisors, traders, partners, and lovers to humans or anything else, but their experiences with human jealous and anger lead them to often be cold and standoffish.

Beryl, having the unimpeachable authority to create new races, realized that she had a backdoor authority to create new gods; for it is within her purview to bestow a license to create a race unto anyone else, god or mortal, and anyone who creates a race must necessarily then be a god.

Or at least, initially.

Eternity at his duties is a long time, and the god of death has grown fond of life. Watching its storys unfold, the great deeds done, and even the simple acts of life from the creatures from the sea floor.

It probably helps hold his interest, that if rumors are true, he is essentially the grandfather of the human race through Ynera.

>>43925759
Since they share the nature of being ceaselessly devoted to their cause, Et-Tarsis and Tiranel get along quite well.

Et-Tarsis greatly appreciates the advancements brought by Tiranel as they allow her to preform her duties better. And while progress waits on no man, it can be halted if whoever is driving it forward is killed. Therefore in return, Et-Tarsis vowed that in return for these gifts, she will come without pause and question to Tiranel's aid whenever someone threatens her work.
>>
There is a legend amongst the Gods, that there was something before them. Something before the existence. Something that was destroyed long before the New Existence. Some of the Gods may think, that they were created in someone's image. Maybe those Gods are correct. Because if Ynera is the mother of all human, then who is The Laughing God? He states that he is a human, but he also claims that he isn't related to Ynera. Even TAJYR AKNA, TLG's close friend doesn't know TLG's true origin. When Ballan-Sur heard of these elves when they entered the world, and she corrupted a select few of them. These would be the War Council of Dread:
7 Elven demigods who are replaced by a stolen elven child that the others foster whenever one of them dies. They are patrons of vanity and discontent, sowing it between elves and humans alike, content to hide among the elven populace, pulling their strings, preparing their plots, and forwarding their agenda to sow discontent among the mortal races.

Tani, the Undead; Plaugevictim, The First Necromancer.

A long, long time ago, a great plague ravaged the world. A 14-year-old girl, who had been alone at sea, hiding from her rapacious uncle in small dingy, returned to her island home to find everyone she knew dead. Tani, the learned young girl that she was, knew better than to approach and bury her dead kin and neighbors, but the emotional girl that she was, her heart would not stand still while they rotted away. So she built a great funeral pyre, and wearing thick gloves and a cloth around her face, dragged the victims onto it. Unfortunately for her, the plague was magical, and transmitted by mere proximity.

When Tani realized she was dying, she began to cry. She begged the universe not to allow her to die.

Something heard her cries. Whether that entity was cruelly malevolent, or full of sorrow and trying to save her as best as it could, is not known. It asked her if she would damn the world if it would mean she would go on, and in her smallness and fear, she said yes.

Tani became the first necromancer. While there were mindless, ravening undead before her, she was the first to retain her sapience, her free will, her emotions and sensations. Ballan Sur wanted to destroy her immediately, but Beryl Di'Namic would not permit it. She swore that if Ballan Sur raised his powers against Tani, she would create an endless number of races which were ageless and regenerated from harm immediately, such that it would inevitably grind Ballan Sur's cycle to a halt. The True Judge threatened Beryl in the matter, but the Laughing God found the idea of a relatively new goddess challenging Ballan Sur's authority on a matter of emotional feels so amusing he took her side and insisted that Tani be left alone. Ballan Sur, however, felt so strongly in the matter that a compromise was necessary.

Tani was allowed to become a divinity to spare her existance, but one without power, or even awareness of her own divinity. (cont).

Left alone on an island without people, with only books and nature, Tani soon realized something was wrong. She quickly cooled to the temperature of the environment, and her pulse became so sluggish she couldn't feel it. Desperately, she sought information, but her symptoms were entirely unlike those of the plague that took her kin, for she was in fact now undead. Desperately, she scrabbled through book after book, absorbing all the information she could, forgetting to eat for interminable stretches.

Eventually, Tiranel took a bit of pity on Tani, and delivered to her a tome of arcane formula, advanced and unknown. From these, Tani developed the principles of arcane necromancy, and came to realize that she herself showed all the signs of being undead. When she looked up, her understanding of the tome complete, she realized she was now undead; unliving but with the appearance and fluidity of life. She realized then, and only then, that years had passed, and she still looked like a child.

She struck out, into the world, not realizing her place among the pantheon; adrift, wracked with confusion. But still she developed her craft; squeamishness long past her, she learned to animate the dead, to manipulate the energy of living, and through it all, Ballan Sur was angry. Tani, in Ballan Sur's belief, was becoming the doom he had wanted to destroy, but The True Judge would not permit Ballan Sur to violate the agreement that had been reached, not even if it meant destroying the cycle of rebirth itself.

The Laughing God found this all very amusing, as Tani's power grew through entirely mortal means. Unbound by age or death she learned to manipulate life-force, deathly energies, and even souls themselves; her very nature drawing her to these powers, though other magics she learned through simple and honest effort. (cont. Man, I like this one!)

He was created by the True Judge, to be his beacon of justice in the god-sphere.
He manifests as an ideal human holding his sword Lumin.
He is the sworn enemy of Tyroniqus, and the gods of imprisonment.
Although his scriptures beckon peace is the only final solution, Tron-Sol is a god of war, when he marches the sun flares and shields his armies in a blinding light,
He is at conflict with Myrea, who believes his wars bring more suffering than justice. But it matters little to Tron-Sol, if all his conquests are towards the one good, then surely that good will be attained one day.

Tani, through it all, remained benign, even given sometimes to fright, choosing to avoid confrontation if possible. Unfortunately for the world, others who learned from her, for she taught her arts freely at that time, were frequently quite malevolent in nature.

Ballan Sur eventually agreed to allow the bindings on Tani to lapse, if only to bring her out of the mortal realm, but the True Judge would not allow the agreement to be altered. However, the True Judge agreed that if Tani achieved godhood through effort a mortal would (theoretically) be capable of, then the agreement would be null and void. Ballan Sur thus began his efforts to, far from hindering Tani, actively aiding her in her quest for knowledge.

Of course, the Laughing God found the situation of Tani, the Undead Girl Goddess who thought she was something not mortal and not god, and perhaps not without cause, to be so funny, that he began acting against Ballan Sur's efforts, resulting in a stretch of time in which a series of hilarious accidents began to happen to Tani, causing her great setbacks even as she discovered new and deeper arcane secrets.

To this day, Tani shivers whenever she sees a soapy frog. However, she persevered, her quest for knowledge unending, since she had no mortal wants beyond sex and knowledge, and had difficulty finding lovers who weren't either so young she could barely relate to them, or unhealthily interested in her apparent age.

Eventually, the First Necromancer's image, of a girl brandishing a staff topped with a skull, had become so pervasive throughout the world, and she was believed to be a goddess by so many mortals and venerated as such, and her mastery of arcane magic (not only her own school but all schools,) was so extreme, that the Judge decreed she had earned goddesshood through her own efforts, and the agreement thus became null and void. Empty Vessel, The First Without a Soul, Lord of deamons

Demons are parasites, but even the lowest of vermin have a purpose, a hierarchy. A god. Empty Vessel was the first living human born without a soul in another world. Without a soul you don't exist in the eyes of gods nor in the eyes of deamons. When his home was invaded by deamons, empty Vessel latched onto one of them and was dragged to hell. There he feasted on the residue of the souls the deamons had stolen. Eventually Empty Vessel grew in power and subdued deamon after deamon. He now has lost his physical being, yet still has a presence. He is now nothing but a soul, yet he is not one or have one. His deamons leave him bits of souls and in return he aids in their invasions. He is immortal, eternal and has always been there, yet something is needed to fill him. He is indeed an Empty Vessel.

Enemy of all gods, equally powerful with primordials.

Thus liberated from the ignorance she languished under, Tani took her place among the gods and goddesses. Her legacy is one which is mixed; while many, perhaps even a majority, of necromancers use their abilities foully, the art is not inherently evil, even if it does screw somewhat with Ballan Sur's Cycle when people start using souls to power arcane workings, or binding them to unliving bodies that the person they were may be preserved.

Tani is a steadfast ally of Beryl and Tiranel, who were her own allies long before she knew it (and the latter of whom she both adventured with and laid with many times while she wandered the world.) She is warily respectful of Ballan Sur; unable to forgive him for wanting to destroy her, as she remains the girl frightened of death at her core, but unable to turn a blind eye to Ballan Sur's aid in her quest for knowledge.

She is the one of the first deities worshiped by necromancers, even those whose worship she would rather not have. She encourages those who actually listen to her beliefs and not simply her factual teachings to be responsible necromancers, to avoid unduely perverting the cycle beyond what is reasonable and sustainable, to be respectful of death as much as of undeath, and to use their powers for non-malevolent ends. She is also venerated as a goddess of magic and knowledge, for obvious reasons.

But who the hell, or WHAT the hell, offered to preserve her in the first place?

The Storm Eye cult is ruled by a human majority, but they have a number of servitor races among them. The most numerous of these races is the Canids, vicious Wolfmen known to be created by Mah Yis Rah as her loyal servants. They're believed to be elves twisted into beasts after fleeing from the Laughing God in the Age of Fire, they have only the capacity to bark or speak in their own sign language. Though not stupid by any means, their animalistic nature makes them come across as quite dim and so they're mostly used as hard labor or cannon fodder in Storm Eye armies.

The unofficial leader of the Canids is named Dogmeat. His tale is one of rising through the ranks from a lowely shieldbearer to become the Spiritual leader of the Canids, earning himself a seat on the Storm Eye war council, the only non-human to ever be recognized as such.

Tales of Dogmeats control over the divine, and his extensive powers in mysticism are a source of great pride for the Canids, morbid curiosity for the Storm Eye, and quite terror for everyone else. He is one of the most powerful wizards in the world, if not the most. Some even say he's secretly in cahoots with the god Marik. That it's believed that his power comes from his devotion to the Storm Eye aspect of Myrea, a cult known for its militarism and zeal, makes him a subject of many whispers of a new Storm Eye offensive upon Viluvia.

Jokes are told mocking this, how all you'd need to stop the Storm Eye in their tracks is to throw a couple of cooked geese into the generals tents and you'll be left with a fat, unintelligible wolf leading the war host. The nervous laughter that follows puts a damper on all but the jolliest of festivities.

>>43926458
Even so, it would somewhat possible for a minor goddess/immortal to harvest a small demon realm for the necessary souls, and then the immortal race would start tapping into the cycle for new members, eventually stalling the cycle on them.
It's a pretty good threat to make against Ballan, but only once.
>>
>>43926440
This. No reason for too many different

Preferrably use older gods instead of making new ones.

BTW: Nimhe, the Goddess of Corruption (Who could have been great Corruptor in War Council of Dread), still lacks a picture.
>>
>>43926482
Even then, it does not preclude those members being killed and turned into undead. In the end you come with the same problem, and piss off the god of death even more.

Thats the point in time he uses the accumulated power from the Great Staff of Bone to make every undead go nutts on the living. They survive that, then its personal reaping time, and immortality is not going to save you if your not inherently divine. Even the laughing guy cant do anything about peoples souls being yanked out by the cumulation of souls under Ballans control.

Its a no-win situation for all involved, but a gods got to put his foot down if people muck with his shit.
>>
>>43926503
indeed he does.

A quick tip for any new additions and creations:
Please make them demigods or minor gods connected to/serving an existing major deity. We've got our fill of necessary divine powerhouses and any more additions high up in the hierarchy would just mess up with the balance of the entire thing.
>>
>>43926440
Go ahead.
>>
>>43926443
But sapient undead are now A Thing that can Happen. There's quite a few necromancers who'd be perfectly happy to have a ruling class of sapient undead ruling over endless legions of mindless, controlled thralls.

That might backfire on Ballan quite badly.

"Personal Reaping" sounds like the kind of thing to draw the ire of the True Judge.

>>

>>
>>43926529

>>
>>43926553
Interesting, though kinda unfitting for an evil being. You'd expect that from a god of the arts or something like that
>>
>>43926521
With a world where nothing grows, everything wears down. They would rule for a time, before nothing is made and nothing is gained, all becoming pointless and dull. A grey'd out world.
You also end up with the vast majority of gods losing all their followers, none of them will like that. The cycle is Ballans implementation to keep everything turning in the soul department, he is in no way weakened by its absence, and any attempt to set up another would be immediately sabotaged.

You could turn everything on the world into undead, and he would still rip them back into true death. True Death is his primary domain for a reason.

Probably, but that point in time True has overstepped his boundrys anyway, so i doubt Ballan would care.
It'd not be a good confrontation. There is no argument that could be made by the judge that could justify such a race, or intervention.
>>
>>43926512
We should probably compile a list of domains/areas that lack much development or a individual for them.

N'vylla the Demoness, First of her kind

A foul creation of Nimhe, N'vylla was an attempt at creating mindless beings to serve him. Born out of the body of a human, N'vylla was once a warrior and a mercenary, taking any job that was offerred to her. She would do anything, no matter how brutal or heartless, as long as she got paid. Nimhe, having been watching her for a time and seeing her as the perfect subject for an experiment, turned into a mysterious man and visited her, saying he had a job that required her to investigate a ruin deep in the woods. She was initially wary of the job, but the coins were too many to ignore it, and she went.

When she got to the ruins, she saw the same man that offerred her the job. He then revealed himself to be Nimhe, the god of poison, corruption, and twisted impurity. He revealed his plans to her and started using his magic to corrupt her.
She grew horns, her skin turned a grayish white, her eyes started glowing a bright red, her mind turned to that of a slave. Mostly a result of her own corruption, the magic only granted the servitude, as the rest was almost already done for him.

She then proceeded to serve Nimhe for decades to come, watching it corrupt people and bolster his demon army, leading them in raids on human lands, conquering everything they could in the name of their god... until one day the angels took notice of them and were forced to battle to defend their god. As the battle dragged on, their numbers fell to the thousands and N'vylla saw herself forced to surrender or lose not only their lives, but their master's too.

As told in the Holy Chronicles of Xizamere: On the Divinities, Chapter 7:

Myrea is, without a doubt, the central deity in the Pnathoen. She's the most widely worshiped, revered, and respected among mortals. She's known as the Queen of Tears, and in many ways she fits her role as queen well within the pantheon. She was the first to ascend, she lead the rebellion against Sirach, and she's responsible for charging each of the Gods with the ordering of the world as they saw fit, within their domain of course.

Her followers assert that Myrea came to this position because of her role in the defeat of Sirach. I'm to tell you that this is true, which it is, but also because she knew the darkest secrets of the other gods, told to her by Marik after she threatened to skin him. So how it has been since the defeat of Nimhe. My Lady commands both fear and respect from all. A proverb comes from this among the Viluvians, stating: "Know your allies and they will never become your enemies".

Amusingly, are even some monotheists among the mortals, especially along the Dire Coast to the east of the continent of Saladia. They believe My Lady is the only "true" God, and that all other gods are in fact facets of her divine will. In these countries, the worship of anyone but Myrea is banned, punishable by exile or even drowning. Preposterous of course, but one cannot expect mortals to always be rational.

I placed him on God Thier (probably some mortal blood somewhere as he is not Phoenix himself) as otherwise his opposition to Myrea would have seen him really dead fast.

She and what remained of the demon army were brought to the gods. To her surprise, they were spared and returned to land, although now powerless. Surprised again, Nimhe had also been spared, but when it approached her and told them it would join the pantheon and make amends to what it did to the world, she rebelled. Having only known death and destruction her whole life, even before she turned into a demon, N'vylla took her demon army away with a plan in her mind: find a place to settle and take domain, roam the human lands to build up their strength and get enough power to defy the only ones who were able to defeat them at their most powerful and the former master who she believes turned on them.

ooh I got one :

Seheygenas, god of regret
a powerful human with godlike powers, Seheygenas was a proudful man, driven by greed and arrogance. One day, a lady came running to Seheygenas for help, but Seheygenas did not bother to even look at the lady due to being fixated on his daily ritual of grooming. The lady pleaded, begged, went down on her knees but Seheygenas did not care..until the lady cried tears of blood. Seheygenas was terrified; there was blood all over him now, and the lady's face started to bleed, every orifice, every pore. Every second that passed, the lady shrieked and asked why the great and powerful Seheygenas did not help her. Seheygenas tried, but it was too late, and all that was done was defile the lady's bloodied, flayed corpse.

Seheygenas was stricken with grief, with regret. He did not realize that his powers had taken a hold of him, and of reality; His power grows because of his regret, and yet it is his regret that paralyzes him. He cannot do anything now but stare.

His powers skyrocketed him into godlike status, and though he helps those who feel deep regret(by lending him a portion of his power), he knows that he is still powerless to help that lady
>>
>>43926946
Phoenix guy here.

Im thinking he could be the reincarnation of Kanin Dahva in semi-mortal form. He contains the essence of the Phoenix Father, but he himself is not a Phoenix. He would the "son" born long after the world had been formed, perhaps even before the Sun War.

In any case, he would have a particular disdain for dragons, as do all of Phoenix heritage. We could even say he hunts dragons to avenge the genocide of his children.
>>
>>43926946
The idea behind was that he wanted to become someone, who can save his family. He couldn't ask the other gods for help because there were no gods at all. So he became one, and got linked to the existence. Not being able to die and seeing his family die because of old age and their desire to finally cease to exist drov him insane and completely warped his personality. He was there when the previous reality ended and he will witness the end of this universe. And so he lives on, constantly trying to find a way to die and join his family, metaphorically speaking. And the whole screwing with other gods thing is to make them destroy him, which proved countless times to be useless, so he mostly accepted his fate as a force of nature. That is the idea.

The True Judge guy here again (sorry for spamming new replies, I haven't been on the thread since the last one, still catching up)

I like this story, but I am not sure if TTJ should act like this. TTJ does not act like these kinds of gods, and does not directly influence things under normal circumstances. However, in a case like this, he probably would manifest some scions to help sort out this dispute, as TTJ is more active in divine affairs. So it probably would not directly stop anyone, but they would feel like crap for doing so.
>>
>>43927042
>>43909322

Seheygenas is often though to be a Scion or person blessed by The True Judge. Or perhaps being penalized so greatly he needed to become a God to suffer enough.

His tale is often told to mages and scholars as a warning what happens to those who stop caring about their surroundings.
>>
>>43927111
Its fine, your reading up.

I imagine this event would be something that happened really early on in the timeline (if accepted as is). So TTJ could have been impulsive due to youth.

TTJ guy yet again

I like this. A lot, actually. This is a good example of how TTJ works. It passively effects everyone, with emotions like regret being the main way it effects the lives of mortals.

Actually, this inspires me to make another scion, one that latched onto this guy until he became completely frozen from guilt.
>>
>>43927182
Eh, TTJ is a 'truly' primordial being, who was never really young to begin with. Of course, if a majority decides that this works better in the overall mythology, I would be fine altering the backstory a bit.

>>
>>43927259
They kind of fall under divine servants. Immortals, but not gods in their own right since they rely on TTJ for their power.

Divine servants seem to be split between: Angels/messangers who are intrinsically part of their creator/master, champions/scions who are kind of by-products or empowerd others and then you have beasts/monsters who are usually offspring.

The Myrean Apocrypha, Sermon XXXVI:

We find our Lady in the desert outside the city of Kardash.

To the east comes the host of Demons, lead by the foul Ny'vlla, cursed be her wretched name.

The foul creature spoke "Begone, Oh weeping crone, your tyranny is not welcome here, you are powerless before the might of my armies."

Our Blessed Lady scowled and replied "To claim one a tyrant while partaking in greater tyranny, have you no shame?"

To this the demon shrieked and charged, still our lady did not falter

Their swords clashed, our lady did not falter.

Angels fell to demons, our lady did not falter

The wretch laughed a hideous laugh, boasting her triumph over the Queen of Tears herself. "What irony! So the Queen falls before a simple servant! Impossible to believe an old maid like you could be Queen of anything."

To this, Our Lady responded: "The Mage who'd yet to grow stubble, shan't not boast to one so wizened that their beard touches the floor".

With that, she let losose the forbidden words, words of power spoken in times long past. One cannot know what they mean, only that Our Lady Myrea, blessed be her name, hath shouted them and blinded Ny'vlla and her demonic host.

With this opening, her angels regrouped and charged. The tide had turned.

The battle raged on, and Our Lady emerged victorious.

So brothers and sisters, let us say these words of power as our lady had said them. Though we cannot invoke the terror she did, together, we shall ward away the foul demons of Ny'vlla, and strike fear in them, as they remember the terror Our Lady hath wrought upon them.

Other gods have whispered that the look they have when Arimues birth is mentioned is an instant sliver of shame, a punisment of The True Judge.

The Sun War happened before the rise of man, in prehistory.

>>43925836
We kindda need a central non-primordial deity who is inherently good. So I think we should flesh out Sohai way more and make him and Cindylla the central deities.
>>
>>43927657
Sun War seems to predate most Mortals, so Sirach was overthrown later.

It has been said that he participated (or instigated) the Sun War to get rid of those pesky Dragons and Phoenixes. It happened so long ago that no-one is sure anymore, though.

Of the tales about the Overthrowing, which was quite recent event, Tron-Sol is often a part of, for once working alongside Queen Myrea.
>>
>>43927677
But if he is the son of Father-Phoenix he could predate man, as he simply manifests as a human, but is technically just a force of idealism.
And therefore he could be part of throwing down Sirach, and then proceed to Father humans with Ynera, thus giving him a human appearance?

Ynera and Cindylla like eachother, and are saddened by the fact that usually only one of them is worshipped due to their similiarities.
Both dislike Gomul Hausa, who is too bestial for them.

Once upon a time, when Tron-Sol was defeated by Nimhe for a time, he fled to dark forests. There he stumbled upon Hordun the Fat, who sheltered him in his Keep over that dark time.

Yal-Hagur/Empty Vessel writer here.

Finally found a good picture for the Thirsting God
>>
Guy who wrote Sirach here. The progress made here has really blown me away. And to think OP, you were worried.

To answer the question, yes it is most likely Sirach predates man. Hence why most knowledge pertaining to him in the mortal realm is unknown/forbidden. His only influence in the mortal world is through She Who Seeks, and knowledge only passed down from the brief words she may share with those she frees.

As to his other children, who remained neutral during the war that brought him down, I'm thinking three brothers. Varish, the God of Innocence; Shamas, the God of the Guilty; and Keshim, the God of Pursuit.

When their father was first brought down, the brothers had little responsibility that their father did not assume for them. They literally felt they had no purpose, so when the other gods came to them they honestly considered whether to side with them or not. After much deliberation, they decided that neutrality was the way to go and stayed out of the whole affair. Afterward they were able to take on aspects of their own.

All three petitioned The True Judge to act as aspects of Justice. Varish became the patron of those accused unfairly and those who represent the rights of the accused during adjudication. Shamas became the patron of those who were justly imprisoned, keeping them from abandoning hope and giving them a chance to reform in prison. Keshim became the hunter of those who flee justice, whether innocent or guilty, he patrons those who seek the accused that flee from punishment. Keshim frequently comes into conflict with She Who Seeks. I will try to find pics for all three.

Maybe ill-fated paramours? Both on different paths, but she can occasionally rest from her eternal search with him when able.
>>
>>43928507
Yal-Hagur preys on anything that has blood or water in it, so yes, technically anything that likes life and gives no shits about fate are against Yal-Hagur as he is the supposed "unparalleled disaster unlike any before" though that can be debated about.

>Excerpt from the writings of the Heresiarch, Jovius Darrow, N'Vylla acolyte.

Nothing irks me more than to hear the gibbering idiots who worship the Tyrant Queen praise her for her oppression. What fools they are, do they not understand what they lost? They threw away power! The power to free themselves of their mortal shackles and take a place at the seat of the table. N'vylla offers liberation to those who serve, the freedom to become immortal, to become a demon. Before she was betrayed by Nimhe, she had taken to the battlefield, side to side with her comrades, to take a stand against the Tyrant Queen. Had not she been betrayed, she would have smote the land with the blood and tears of foul Myrea! The revisionism, the lies, told by the Tyrant Queens slaves to justify their servitude sickens me. To all those who may read this, I hope you show more sense than those who've come before you.

Baella Stonehall and Siggy Ironforge, the first Dwarves.

As a pair of fraternal twins, Baella and Siggy shared an oddity unique to multiple births; a conjoined soul. They were separated at birth by the custom of the human culture they were born in, and as is not uncommon in such cases, they gravitated to one another in adult life. Less commonly, they became lovers, knowing full well they were sisters, to say nothing of partners in all other matters.

Bother sisters shared a diverse portfolio of skills; Baella a brewer, stonemason, architect, siege engineer, tavern keeper; Siggy a huntress, warrior, metalsmith, leatherworker, adventuress. Both were notoriously short, but said to have heart for a woman ten foot tall, being fond of drink, industry, and fucking.

It was their unceasing confidence in their own appearances, ignoring their detractors and openly, ardently presenting themselves as sexually desirable and available, that attracted Beryl's interest. She put them to trials to test their ability to ignore slights and insults, to create and lead, and eventually appeared to them in the guise of a mortal elf, to see how they responded to someone far more traditionally beautiful than them.

Their response, which was to buy her a skein of strong mead and bed her together, made up her mind, and she granted them the authority to make a new race.

With some consideration given, the two decided to use Dwerves as a basis. None ever accused them of being blessed with an abundance of invention, but at innovation they excelled. Baella and Siggy began from Dwerven and Human stock, and the result is a short, squat but upright humanoid, with the powerful, muscular build of the Dwerves, with human articulation and speech, with a love for creation. Dwarves were the result, stout, sturdy creatures, fond of drink, industrious and passionate, long-lived and gregarious. Dwarves despise the deplorable, primitive state of their Dwerven cousins, often trying (usually with mixed success at best,) to integrate them into Dwarven society, or alternately to wipe them out. They happily build in places others refrain from touching, under mountains and hills, under the earth if need be. And no, the women do not have beards.

Baella and Siggy are now one deity, sharing their goddesshood as they sharing soul, two personalities, two minds, two bodies; more than one, less than two. They remain lovers and staunch allies of Beryl DiNamic, lesser racial deities in close alignment to the Mother of Races. They often appear in properly Dwarven form, but just as often in the short Human form they were born with, and occasionally take the form of other small races. Aside from Dwarven worship, they are also venerated (usually with much swearing and vigor,) by tavernkeepers and blacksmiths.

>What adventures the Northern Twins have had?
Ah, the ballad of the Northern Twin goes on for many verses, but one line in particular tells much of their strength and valor:

>From the Saga of the Northern Twins, Story 104

High Chief Gamor had traveled to find
If the tales and stories were true
A skeptic by nature, he was inclined
To doubt if the Twins could do what they do.

So he went with his host, to ask them to go
Do a deed that would bring the Twins glory
He asked them to slay, a terrible foe
A dragon they knew only in stories.

His name was Yvonge, the Terror of the North
It's said no blade could hope to pierce his hide
Smug as can be, he told the to go forth!
To slay this beast, or else they shall die!

So the Twins went out, to the roof of the world.
Where all legends go to live alone.
They trekked on as the ice storms had swirled.
And came across a tower made of stone.

The dragon came forth, and battle they did.
Sword and arrow flew, but no good did it do.
Then an idea had formed, and so they hid
The dragon pursued, the strike then hit true!

With a swipe of his claw, Gurnbrand hit the eyes
The dragon then roared, as Gurnhildr did climb
She lifted her sword and, through thunderous cries.
The dragon fell dead, it was the end of his time.

So the Twins came back with the head of the beast.
The Chief was stunned, he knew he'd been beat.
In celebration, he threw them a glorious feast
To the Twins of the North! May we drink and eat meat!

Vayranor: god of devotion and vengence

Vayranor is a mercenary of the gods, who regularly works for Marik in exchange for information on a single subject. How to restore the nymphs whoes powers were stolen by Zalkum.

Legends say that Vayranor was in love with one of the nymphs (none save Vayranor remember which and he don't talk about the subject much) and that when he discovered that Zalkum had taken the life and power of his lover he vowed that he would not rest until the day he restored her to life along with her sisters. Since then he has devoted his life to this, his quest turning him into a patron god of mercenaries. He often appears to out of work mercenaries, offering a kings ransom for the recovery of information Marik desires.

The only times Vayranor works for free is when he gets to fuck Zalkum's plans up, for whie the powers held by Zalkum must remain his for the moment that doesn't mean Vayranor shoudn't get to kick the bastard in the dick at least once

Sigrún Dragonforged, the first Dragonborn; Demi-goddess of the Birthwrought.

Sigrún was born a mortal woman in the far north, in a tribe that valued strength and prowess above all. And in her tribe, she excelled, becoming the mightiest of warriors by the sixteenth year of her life, and leading grizzled men twice her age into battle by her twentieth year.

Though all her life for twenty-two years she was a devoted worshipper of the Northern Twins, happenstance saw her leading her tribe's forces in war against Gurnhildr and Gurnbrand. None in her tribe had particularly displeased them, they simply wound up fighting on the side of the other side, which was badly outnumbered and had been driven from their lands by another tribe, and so needed to seize land to survive. Sigrún fought like ten women, but in the end her people were defeated, even though they managed to bring Gurnbrand low with long boar-spears in the thick of the fighting, at grave cost in life.

Of the warriors who fought that day on the losing side, only a score survived, and scarcely more than threescore more of their opponents did. Only Sigrún walked from the field of battle unscathed, though it was not for lack of trying. She was filled with bitter anger, however; she felt betrayed by the demigoddesses she had venerated, and sought power and might. She sought to form a war-band that would eventually bring both of them down in the same battle; only then would she feel vindicated, but try as she might, it seemed for naught. When one fell in battle, the other's strength seemed to grow tremendously. Sigrún sought alternate forms of power, and she saw how dragons absorbed humans and made their power their own. Sigrún wanted that power; wanted the ability to absorb the strength of her slain foes, seeking to increase her personal prowess to the point that she could challenge the Twins and emerge victorious. When Myrea finally realized this she went mental and cursed Nadir.

She prayed to her new gods, Baela and Siggy, Myera, and Beryl DiNamic, for guidance, for strength.

Bemused, and drunk, Baela and Siggy proposed that they help Sigrún out. Myera wanted nothing to do with this, for there was quest for glory in Sigrún's heart, and she took joy in adversity, but Beryl agreed to help, and Myera agreed, on the condition that Sigrún earn their aid somehow. The First Dwarves and the Elfmother appeared to Sigrún in a dream, and told her that if she wanted draconic power, she would need to slay a dragon.

Alone.

Sigrún found a Red; not a young one, for she didn't feel it worthy enough, but not a very old one, as she understood her mortal limitations, and knew she couldn't overcome such a beast without an army of men to fight and die for her. She ambushed the beast, for she was neither stupid nor possessed of any silly notions that there was any honor or glory in battle greater than victory. She brought it low, and was remade, reforged as a human in draconic shape; the first of many such types of creatures to follow, for her ascension opened the door to others. As a demigoddess, she flew off immediately to battle the Twins.

She did not prevail in her first battle, but she escaped. In her second battle, she slew Gurnhildr, but Gurnbrand killed her in turn. In her third, she killed Gurnbrand and escaped Gurnhildr. In her fourth, she was killed without defeating either of them, but in the fifth, she finally prevailed, smiting low the Twins. In the sixth, the Twins captured her alive and forced themselves on her, leaving her alone and beaten; in the seventh, she returned the favor, capturing both of them and having her way with them each. Then she offered them a truce.

There was no eighth duel. From time to time they wind up opposing one another leading armies of mortals, but otherwise she and the Twins respect one another, and occasionally tryst. (cont.)

>Saga of Northern Twins, Story 105 and 106

High Chief Gamor had traveled to find
If the tales and stories were true
The deed was done and he doubted no more
But doubtful still was his wife, the woman named Tue

The twins were boasting, calling themselves immortals
Nobody thought this a lie
"We could travel through Hell's portals
and come back alive"

"Strong they are, that i admit
But strength alone means nothing, so i will bet something
Bring me the paw of the Red Rabbit
It lives in the forest in the west, good hunting"

The twins laughed, merry and jolly
Drunk off mead and full of meat
"Very well woman" said Gurnbrand "losing this bet is your own folly
Hunting shall be easy compared to the dragon we just beat"

The twins set off, bows and arrows in tow
To the forest in the west
In the grove where the golden acorns grow
To prove that they are the best

Soon did the rabbit reveal itself, coming from ruins from the past
Sit daintily on the grove's grass
The twins boasted "Do not move, let's make this fast"
The Rabbit turned around and yelled "kiss my ass"

Long did they hunt from little to no avail
The Red Rabbit moved with haste
Most of the time the Twins only saw it's tail
Seeming not even a little tired from being chased

Setting traps didn't help either, the Rabbit was smart
Jumping over the deadly contraptions
This was the rabbit's home, while to Twins they were unknown parts
But they were not here for local attractions

The hunt finally stopped and the twins exhausted
Defeated, to Tue they returned
Here they heard that the woman had cheated
And from this experience the twins had learned

"You maybe cunning, fast and strong
But sometimes neither side plays fair
Deceiving your opponent is nothing wrong
And fight the dragon you did dare

But the beast is still an animal
Fighting is what it knows best
Your methods are like the dragon's; primal
And will be beaten by those smarter than the rest"
>>
>>43929732
Sigrún was the first Dragonborn, but not the last. Though other Dragonborn are not demigoddesses like her, they are mightier by far than mere humans, elves, dwarves, etc, ageless, powerful and tough, mighty, capable of flight and breathing out elemental fury.

Dragonborn are rare. Sometimes they are created when a mortal slays a dragon, usually alone though a particularly mighty dragon kill might grant the leader of the war-band that brings it down an empowering. Alternatively, they could be any spawn of Sigrún herself, or rarely, the child of two mortal Dragonborn, though that is rare, as Dragonborn seldom tolerate one another well enough to share power or intimacy.

To clarify, he was imprisoned for harboring a Mermaid that had murdered the inhabitants of a fishing village in cold blood. He didn't know this of course, and when the flesh hounds of Nadir came for her, he fought them off one by one, killing 5 of them.

Now, Nadir's raised each hound from when they were pups and made sure to name, feed, and care for everyone of them. Upon hearing of this he flew into a rage and before anything could be explained, he threw shackles on Mordun and imprisoned him in the darkest depths of his Prison, in a cell right next to the Sinews of the Underworld of Ballan Sur.

It's probably due to the constant wails of the departed dead that he was driven utterly mad.

Void Dragons

TLG's and TAJYR AKNA's pet project. Originally they were planing to create a race of sentinels, that were supposed to protect the mortal realm while they are fucking around, eating salad and playing Paradox Poker (TLG saw how some guys were playing it in their's pocket reality, and decided to borrow the idea). The result wasn't what they originally expected. What they got was a race of dragons (that shit they got right), but the outcry of the void energy was so strong, that the void dimension was split open, and it poured into the mortal realm allowing mortal to channel void magic and creating a continet of Zoruktor, which shifts eternally, filled with void creatures. Now the Void Dragons have to fight in a constant war to prevent void energy from spreading further. However, they are sympathetic in nature, and if a mortal could reach them, they will aid him, grantin knowledge and power.
But why the fuck would you want to travel to that demon-infested shithole? That shit just doesn't worth it, and only few mortal had returned from Zoruktor alive.

Humbled, the Twins for long studied
Under the tutor of the wise woman, Tue
Someday there would be an enemy that would leave them bloodied
And the Twins would be hunted like the Rabbit, too

4 winters and 4 summers their knowledge grew
When across the seas the heard of demonic commotion
Tue let them go and the twins gathered a hardy crew
And with their knowledge the sail across the ocean

The trek was short and easy with the Twins' leadership
For this wisdom to Tue were the indebted
And in the new lands they faced a hardship
Where their knowledge was needed
Aaaand that's about what i can come up with right now.

Ilara, the Seductress; the Risen Succubus

Ilara is the arch-succubus who fueded with Lucira. She survived Lucira's initial assault, and learned quickly, hiring scholars and spies alike to learn all they could of the angel who feuded with her. Initially her goal was simple survival, then victory. Then she wanted to humiliate Lucira, to cast her down and force herself upon her before destroying her, then to make the angel her toy. In the end, she fell in love with the angel, at first an angry, grasping, possessive love, but as their talks grew on, she grew to crave the angel for more than just her looks, or the chance to plunge herself into the angel's untouched, virginal flesh and take joy in defiling her. She loved her.

When Lucira suggested that their cold war could be resolved amicably instead of an eventual return to open strife, Ilara leapt at the chance. At first Lucira thought to trade herself for any mortals the succubus would otherwise touch, but gradually they wore on one another; Lucira becoming more and more lustful, and Ilara becoming kind, and charitable. Eventually, the angel relented, and in addition to one another, they both availed themselves of mortals; together, and far more kindly than Ilara had been prone to before.

When the Angellic Host came to destroy her, Lucira fought like an Archangel to protect her, and Ilara fought like, well, a demon, to protect her in turn, but they were overcome, not by prowess or guile but by strength of numbers. By then, there was a spark of divinity in her, a shard of Lucira's soul that belonged to Ilara, had fused with her; destroying her was outright impossible, as it was for any divine. (cont.)

The Fixer

A strange temporal construct that seemingly targets those mages and scientists who delve too deeply into the fundamentals of time and reality.

Appearing seemingly out of thin air, usually accompanied by swarms of blue butterflies, the creature destroys any research notes or documents the target has gathered and often the target themselves. The latter is the the fewer of the incidents, and appears to be tied to how closely the targets are to breakthroughs. After finishing it's current task the creature promptly disappears after breaking line of sight with all witnesses.

Scholars have often debated the exact nature of the creature, but most usually believe it targets those deemed to be too close to achieving some great revelation or invention, usually time travel of some kind. While completely mute, the creature is often expressive enough to communicate the reason for it's seemingly random attacks to those it leaves alive.

Most interestingly, or disturbingly, is that if one carefully examines the chronology of incidents it becomes clear that the creature is moving DIRECTLY from one target to another, seemingly instantaneously. As the chronology moves backward, the creature increasingly has evidence of it's next appearances on it's body. One occurrence it will bare a dried blood spatter, the next occurrence it will appear with a dripping fresh blood spatter, and the occurrence after that it will kill a target. This seems to indicate that it is moving backward through time from a specific point in the future, evidently "cleaning up" all the events in history where the temporal flow might be disturbed.

Connections have of course been made to the four dimensional god Taj Yr Akna, but no link has ever been verified.

So she was imprisoned, deep beneath the stone, cursed to never be able to take wing nor to ascend by armpower, hence, never to free her beloved. She was imprisoned in a deep cavern, in a glade grown from rocky lights. She is mighty within her domain, her bindings far looser than those on Lucira (as the angelic host sadly underestimated her,) able to create portals that lead to any tunnel or cavern, but unable to leave herself, unless the angelic wards can be broken, which would take an angel.

So she waits, and to pass the time, she does what she can to behave as she thinks Lucira might be pleased by, attempting to inject some justice into the world. She occasionally makes her cavern accessible to bandits who hide or seek refuge under stone, those who have been run to ground with their pursuers hard on their heels, or desperate and out of food. To those who venture in, she offers a tunnel that will lead them to the surface, far from those who pursued them, to a land where they can resupply readily, and perhaps remake their lives honestly, in anonymity.

Capriciously, according to her whim and desire, she occasionally offers another option, to those she finds pleasing; usually, though not always, bandit women, and always to any prisoners of the bandits: they may risk the perils of the tunnels, which they are likely but not guaranteed to find fatal, or they may choose to remain, to become her servants and playthings. Those who were prisoners she treats kindly, while to those who were bandits, she offers penance. (cont.)

Plate tectonics, landmasses, oceans/rivers, etc.
Then discern mountains, islands, wind currents, temperatures, and variance...
About how big would you say the world should be in # of Earths?
>>
>>43930772
Of course, being a succubus at heart, her penance is sexual slavery which those who give themselves into always find painful and humiliating, though they eventually come to love it, and their mistress, as she comes to eventually love them, and forgive them their sins. After a decade in her service, one way or another, she offers her "guests" a portal to a safe cave near to the surface and an inhabited city. Most take it; some, who have realized that, in the succubus's glade, they do not age (and indeed, age in reverse if they were middle-aged already,) choose to remain with her.

Ilara awaits the day her lover breaks free of her bonds and comes to rescue her; she misses Lucira terribly, but is certain that Lucira's return for her is a matter of when, not if. Until then, she enjoys a measure of power in her glade, with comfortable lodgings built by her loyal servants, whom she sometimes sends out to gather materials and skills.

She is venerated by bandits and highwaymen who view her as their only hope for a second chance, as anyone who has gone through Lucira's trial of redemption, either the dangerous tunnels or servitude to her, is granted a new cosmic fate, with even the gods of punishment and justice themselves unable to connect their new identities with their old, unless they themselves willingly reveal it. She is also known to offer salvation at times to lost spelunkers and subterranean adventurers.

Nimhe is Irish for poison or toxin.

By the way, I feel I should point out: Elves aren't extinct as a species. TLG wiped out one empire, not the entire race. Beryl wouldn't tolerate the race being exterminated, and would remake them if that were the case.

Which god had the First Fancy that spawned Ong?
I would imagine they would have some kind of relationship.

I have been thinking about the nature of TTJ, and I have some new details.

First, it is, as previously noted, it is the source of emotions in the vain of guilt, like regret, embarrassment and shame, but that those are necessary for emotions like pride and love to exist. Without TTJ, everyone would be psychopaths, and in fact, psychopaths are individuals who are at least partially immune from the influence of TTJ, due to their lack of empathy.

Second, the nature of TTJ. The True Judge has no gender, although I think it has more masculine attributes than feminine ones, and most of the scions that take on the form of a gender (they too lack a true gender) tend to gravitate towards the male side of the spectrum. TTJ does have a full form, but this form does not exist in the mortal world or even the divine world, and can only exist in the strange space outside of the realm of all but the most ancient of primordials (and TLG because of course he can). The True Judge does manifest itself in the forms of scions, for various reasons. People who play MTG, think of he Eldrazi. The scions function similarly, which is part of the reason I picked that name.

Now, TTJ does care about justice, but remember, the punishment is guilt, not an outright action. Some of the scions break this mold, but even then they do nothing other than mental manipulations unless we are dealing with "Destroying the fabric of space and time" levels of fuckery. Even then, it does not manifest itself completely, rather there is a special scion for this, which I will talk about later.

TLG needs a nemesis, something that dislikes laughing, jokes and puns. He needs something that is as powerful as he is and vague as he is.

Jokes are funny when they are new. Hearing the same joke over and over stops being funny. If laughter is the only thing out there, it loses it's meaning.

Jokes are happy. Happy is colorful. Except gray. Gray is dead, depressive and stagnant.

TLG needs a force equal to him, but nothing like him. TLG needs....Stagnation....to be his adversary.

Should i start coming up with something? The 8th primordial that is against the others by the virtue of it's existence? I don't want to shoehorn one in or flood the pantheon.

Waiting for a list of pastebins to add to the OP to make it easier for those that don't know about this yet.

So what your saying is we need Batman?
>>
>>43931167
More or less except a lot more vast and more about making things stay as they are....

Actually that is Batman in a nutshell.

I'm on it.

That would go against TLG's concept. He is not a bad guy, just a force of existence. The guy who is there when shit hits the fan. He took this role when he realised that he can't be killed or stopped. Now he just tries to keep this setting together, while looking for a way to kill or enetertain himself.
>>
>>43931212
I think we should let this guy do it.
>>43931151
Since it was his idea and all.
