“… and the Regional Governors of Imperial Space, cannot be allowed to supersede the Imperial Senate in matters military, political, and economic! An Empire is not built by the strength of its armies, it is built on the strength of its people!” You and your crew all crowd around the breakfast table, nursing the hangovers of last night’s drinking by eating some of Lotte’s homecooking. Well, it wasn’t precisely Lotte, more she bought a droid to do the cooking for her, but she likes to think she can cook and you’re too pained in the head to bother her about it. The news filling in the dead air between you all as you ate. “That is why I will now hold the floor, and refuse to relinquish the floor until this bill is dead!”

“Filibuster.” Kuvasz leans back in his seat, grumbling a bit, rubbing his head. “How long do you think that will last?”

“Gran can go days without food, I’ll give it a week,” says Vikker.

The holonet newscaster took over from the Senate. “And now, Senator Turye-Kulops will begin his historic filibuster on the Senate Floor, opposing the bill which would divide Imperial space between regional governors. The military leaders who presented the bill, claim that this would promote security from Rebellion holdouts and secure for the Empire peace across the galaxy.”

“Yeah, more like pieces of the galaxy,” mutters Misri.

“This is the Imperial Holonet News Network, and the voice of the Galaxy, Mot Nake signing off.” Generic Empire propaganda music starts playing over the dead air now.

“Hey, you didn’t make the news.” Misri looks over to you as you drink your blue milk, still nursing your head. “I would’ve thought that saving Ahto City from being sacked by a bunch of Rebels would’ve at least warranted a mention.”

[1/2]

“The Empire doesn’t like admitting that the Rebels even tried it at all,” you admit. “Besides, Ahto City isn’t as strategic as it used to be. Back when bacta was a lot harder to refine and produce, Kolto which was the main export of Manaan made it so strategically important that the Selkath could monopolize it and maintain their neutrality through several wars.”

Misri stares at you. “I didn’t ask for a history lesson, Professor.” You hear a thumping at the window, then see Sparks calling to you all through it. “Sparks, please. You can’t eat food, you’re a droid.” She whines, scratching against the window with her head and her front legs. “No, Sparks.” She sighs, then looks at you. “So what are we doing now?”

“I think we should prioritize you know what,” says Vikker. The treasure. “It’s nice that we can take detours every now and again, but whoever or whatever is after it might catch up. We should endeavor to grab it before they do.”

> “Good point, Vikker. Let’s head back to the ship.”

Man I am disappointed you guys didn't want to fly the interceptor last thread.
>>
>>43893550
While it looks kickass, the TIE interceptor kind of lacks compared to the Re-22 on almost all aspects.

Hell, you can make the arguement that Sparks can go toe-to-toe with a Interceptor.

The only thing the R-22 has over the Interceptor is shields. The Interceptor has the edge in firepower though.

>>43893601
I know what role playing is but we've been playing a fighter jock. The Interceptor is the best for fighter jocks. Of course I may be a bit biased as its my favorite fighter.

Not really the Re22 has better armor in its hull then the interceptor. It is also slightly faster if you compared stats and it's especially the case since we retuned the engines.

Also the shields I which you mentioned.

> “First, I need to take a look around Kuat. We might as well see what they have for sale.”

You stand up out of your chair. Your muscles are grinding and hissing like a speeder that just got out of storage. “Look. I’m going to take a look around KDY. Alright? See if we can get anything new for the ship.”

Kuvasz raises his hand. “I’d love to accompany you but as I am old, shriveled, and wrinkled beneath this armor. I will have to pass.”

“What are you talking about?” Vikker leans over the table, glaring at Kuvasz. “You deadlifted me in front of all the girls last night!”

“Even a corpse could deadlift you,” says Kuvasz.

“What about you, Misri?” you ask.

She shakes her head. “Too tired. Plus-“ She holds out her hands to all of the plates of breakfast food around her. Eggs, bacon, Gizka sausages, Kuat berry pudding, blue milk. “Free food!” She starts shoving more food down her gullet, not even bothering to use a knife and fork. Lotte walks in from the kitche, rubbing at her eyes, apron around her uniform. It’s not like she actually did any cook, what a waste. She slaps Misri up the head. “Ow!”

“Chew your food. You look like the spawn of a Wookiee and a Lasat eating your food like that,” Lotte says. Misri grumbles, continuing to eat her food in her own savage little way. “So savage.” She gently slaps your arm, looking up at you. “If you’re visiting the KDY shops, I will accompany you.” Ah, great. “But listen, again, don’t embarrass me. While I may command an out of the way sector, I do like to have some amount of dignity to myself.”

[1/3]
>>
>>43894002
[2/3]

You place your hands in your pockets. “Not a lot of dignity looking like you walked right out of a brothel.” She squints at you, then immediately runs her hands through her hair, trying desperately to straighten it out. “I’ll wait outside for you.” She nods, stepping out of the dining room. “You three, I’ll meet you back here later. I’ll try not to keep you waiting.” They all exhaustedly grunt and nod, continuing to eat their food. Nice to see you’re in command of such a respectful and disciplined crew.

-

-

A short trip on a luxurious airspeeder later and you wind up at one of the planetary surface shipyards. Not as famous as KDY’s Shipyard Ring orbiting the planet but, judging by the huge amount of old ships and parts from what you saw outside, this is no slouch either. You and Lotte stepped up to the reception area, where hundreds of prospective buyers are awaiting their entrance. “The Kuat Drive Yards do not just let anybody take anything out of these shipyards. The Imperial Military monitors transactions carefully and conducts extensive background checks to make sure that any ship or weapon that is sold here does not fall into rebel hands.”

“You’re that concerned?” you ask.

“I’m not, I can’t say the same for my peers,” she says. “Besides, most stuff they have here is Clone Wars surplus. Mothballed fighters, extra parts, the like. However, they don’t sell blasters or personal equipment. This is a shipyard after all.” Fair enough. “And no, I’m not going to loan you any money if you spy a Corvette that you really want.”
>>
>>43894017
[3/3]

You look to your left, to see several Tartan-class patrol cruisers parked, apparently for sale. She grabs your chin and immediately faces you forward. You end up at the front of the line, greeted by a very sour looking receptionist. “Welcome to KDY. Please present your papers, waiting period is approximately three months minimum for any reservations…” Lotte sighs, placing a small pile of credits onto his desk. “… but for you we have a slot for you and friend today, Commander Ulgo.” The buyers behind you all shout and jeer at you for not only cutting, but also bribing your way into KDY. “Please examine our wares carefully, a droid will be with you shortly.”

Lotte smiles as she walks with you into the wide open expanses where dozens of ships, both large and small, are piled out waiting for you. “Before you go and embarrass me.” You stop, and she turns around and places her hands on her hips. “I’d like to ask you something.”

“Do tell,” you say.

“You’re after something, aren’t you.” You bite down, hard. Uh oh. “While Vikker and Kuvasz would not tell me what exactly you are after, I am not stupid. You are tracking something down. Care to tell me what it is?”

> “Oh, it’s nothing important, just some historical… stuff.”

I like this, confirms we're onto something while not being specific and downplaying it a little.
>>
How much should we intimate, when pressed, the treasure is worth?
If we say that it's worth 200,000 in old Clone Wars surplus weaponry and an Old Republic freighter, it may look like it's valuable enough for us to go after but still chump change enough for the Empire to overlook it.
Because while we might be keeping this secret from Lev and Lotte, Lev will figure it out when we get onto the Venator.
>>
>>43894127
So imply that we're after some kind of archeological or historical artifact we think we can fence to a collector for a big payout?

>>
>>43894031
>“Sorry, I’m going to need about twenty cases of black ale to tell you that.”
Push back a little; if we give in too easily then Lotte will suspect we're lying. If we make her work a little to get us to spill a little, then she'll more likely take the bait.
>>
>>43894138
Lotte's very smart, if apparently a little airhead about things she isn't interested in. We can't give her even that level of information or specifics unless we want her direct involvement. And technically old republic stuff is still imperial property. Lotte likes us but telling her something like that could force her hand, make her cut into our business.

“Well, I mean, I want to tell myself that this is that big score everyone would kill for. Though, given past experiences things of that description just tend to be a bit lucrative, not too big. Still, I’m hoping.” You thump your chest, smiling at her. “Nothing over my head. I’m not old but I wouldn’t have it this far without knowing when to fold. Don’t fret about it.”

Lotte stares at you, then crosses her arms and scowls. “The fruk are you talking about? I asked what it was, not your life story.” Well. She rolls her eyes, shaking her head. “Forget it, I’m not going to get anything out of you. Nothing escapes that big thick skull of yours anyway.”

“Hey, this big thick skull is housing a big brain,” you say as you walk alongside her.

“Just because you have a big brain doesn’t make you the big cheese around here.” She places her hand on her chest, proudly, almost arrogantly. “Regardless, if you will not tell me, I have other ways.” You nod, fair enough. “Anyway, here comes the sales droid.”

On a speeder comes a bright yellow BD-3000 Betty Bot. “Good morning! And welcome to the Kuat Drive Yards clearance shipyard! Please take a seat!” The two of you take a seat behind on her on the speeder. “Here at this shipyard, we have everything from fighters, small corvette ships, and airspeeders, to capital ship parts for all of your merchant trading needs! I assume your background clearance has been checked over?” You both nod. “Great, any questions?”

You smile. “Yeah, do you come with a purchase?”

The BD-3000 “Oh you! Hehehe!”

Lotte glares at you. You shrug. “What, it’s an honest question.”

“Please direct me to where you’d like to make a purchase.”

So.. is a tie fighter like a zero and our dart thing is more like a p-38?
>>
>>43895279
Don't forget the red eye lents.
>>
>>43895294
I like to think of it as a Wild/Hell cat.

It has room to improve on the original chassis and the Hellcat is better on almost all aspects of the Zero except for Armament.

However considering how the Zero has horrible armor, the Armament means little in which the hellcat has a bead on it.

I feel it is the same as the Re-22 and the Interceptor.
>>
>>43895294
Nah, at the start of the war the zero had mad specs compared to anything else fielded, and an elite fighter core (too elite infact, standards were too high so when pilots started dying there were initially no replacements waiting). Late war that changed but the tie was made to be fielded in mass as a parasite fighter with an emphasis on overwhelming numbers and cost efficiency, not superiority. At least that's what I remember, and I'm no expert in the first place. Ties remind me of the numbers the late war Messerschmidts we're manufactured in and the somewhat competent but no longer stellar pilot standards. And like the tie they had a horrible recovery rate, many of them wrecking on the landing, compared to the tie's (the normal one) inability to operate beyond a carrier.
>>
>>43895514
Yes and No.

Arguably the P-40 and the Spitfire specs can combat the Zero at the time but during that time period i was a matter of pilot experience and underestimating the Japanese at the time.

True, they had an elite fighter corp but it wasn't too high standards but a matter of poor rotation on the Japanese parts (These guys have been fighting since the Second Sino-Japanese war)

>Late war that changed but the tie was made to be fielded in mass as a parasite fighter with an emphasis on overwhelming numbers and cost efficiency, not superiority.

So was the Japanese Doctrine, they prefer a decisive battles, and used Zeroes and bombers on mass.

Messerchmidts had armor.
>>
> EVERYTHING I GUESS

“Let’s take a look at all of them, let me weigh my options.”

“Of course, sir!” First on the list are offensive ship parts, gun turrets, torpedo launchers, you name it. But as you look through the on-board parts catalog, you find that everything appears to be over 100,000 credits. At least, all the good things are.

“Do you have anything under 75,000?” you ask.

“Of course, sir!” The BD-3000 directs the speeder further down the line. You and Lotte notice that as you go along, things seem to get a bit more… decrepit. “Here at Kuat Drive Yards Clearance, we have all manners of cheap affordable options at low, low cost!”

You squint, looking at the catalog. “Lowest option you have here is over 40,000 credits.”

“Low, low cost!” she repeats.

You sigh. So, here’s what the catalog presents within your budget for offensive parts.

> Concussion Missile Rack holding x20 Concussion Missiles: 70,000 credits
> 2x LAAT/i class Composite Beam Laser turrets: 40,000 credits
> XI7 Turbolaser: 64,000 credits

You cross your arms. “What about defensive options. You got any shield generators or composite armor plating I can use?”

“Unfortunately, I am not at liberty to sell anyone except Imperial personnel shield generators of any type.” You look at Lotte. She shakes her head. You sigh. “However, we have a variety of affordable defensive options for your ships as well!”

You bite your lip. “Still very expensive.”

“Low cost!”

> Flare launcher – Starfighter class: 20,000 Credits

> Emergency de-ionizer – Freighter class: 60,000 Credits

>>43895778
[2/2]

“Okay. Show me your ships. The ones under 75,000,” you ask.

“Certainly!” The speeder rolls down the row of increasingly more and more decrepit fighters. It was actually kind of a shame seeing them all rust and wither away like this. No fighter deserves to get mothballed and wait a decade just to be scrapped. You cross your arms. Still so expensive. And you guess that she’ll just say “Low Cost” again.

“Low cost!” she says. Great. You blink, then lean over the side of the speeder.

“What, what is it?” asks Lotte.

“Are those N-1s?” you ask. Sure enough, there were N-1 Starfighters mothballed right next to old Clone Starfighters. “Why does KDY have N-1s?”

“KDY bought out Theed Hangars a year ago. They’re Imperializing most of Naboo now these days, that means the old antiques are getting thrown out the side.” They still look beautiful, even with the paint chipping away.

2. The B-Wing's is more like a superlaser than the ones you'll see on the LAAT's turrets. The LAAT's turrets are more energy efficient while having a decent amount of armor penetration (that is, they can slice Hailfire droids in half from what we've seen I think).

So the majority opinion is that you all want the Concussion missile racks.

Wanna confirm that?

Not!Slaver girl will no doubt have some good stuff, like shields, but likely not a full bore concussion missile rack, and the price is far from ludicrous considering what it is (though its by no means a bargain either)
>>
Oh shit, We can still buy the Turbolaser or shield generator from not Slaver girl.
>>
>>43896869
True but we Turbo laser is 7.7k and he Shield generator (still needs to be checked by Misri but eh)

After buying the missile rank, we will still have 8,100k left.
>>
>>43896879
Indeed we can, though i still want that sweet rack and a turbolaser, while nice, becomes slightly less impressive considering our total firepower now, including the H-wing, A-wing, quad, regular turret, and presumably the rack. That and it would take a fair bit to add while I'm sure the rack is a almost bolt on affair by comparison.
>>
>>43896927
Oh I'm not saying we pick one over the other, I just think the missile rack is cash/wizard/nowplz, and we can get the other stuff after.
>>
>>43896936
Do not forget Sparks, and while I want a ship for Misri later on, we can buy it later or steal one.

“One Concussion Missile Rack primed and ready!” says the BD-3000 as she leads you back to the entrance. “The Kuat Drive Yards Clearance shipyard will always be open to you, provided your allegiance to the Empire stay true!”

Lotte tells you as you dismount, “That means don’t be a rebel.”

“I don’t plan to,” you say. At least, you don’t plan to not at this moment. A missile rack of that size could really help out the Barloz, but you were kind of hoping you’d have the budget too for those turrets. Maybe Jennis might be willing to dig some of those up for you later at a cheaper cost. Though, passing up that V-Wing was terrible. Admittedly, it’d mostly just be window dressing, but it was a V-Wing.

“Right,” says Lotte. The two of you walk past the shouting and increasingly impatient crowd of buyers, some of whom have probably been in line for weeks waiting for a chance to buy something out of the clearance. “You’re going to be down some credits, so I guess this means I ought to give you something to do.”

“If it’s bounty hunting, forget it. I don’t have much in the way of taking prisoners,” you say.

“I know that.” She signals for a taxi land speeder to come and whisk you back to the spaceport. “But I’m going to have you hunt bounties anyway.” Well, great. The speeder arrives, and the two of you step in. Hm, comfy, the lap of luxury this speeder is. She names off the destination for the driver. “There’s a couple of bounties to turn in that I know you’d love. Seamus Fili, 100,000 credits alive, 70,000 dead. He’ll be your first priority bounty.”

“I know him,” you say. “He’s the Rebel that got too rebellious for the Rebellion, right? Shot down his Pelta too.”

“I’m well aware but that doesn’t mean he’s stopped. Separatists never know when to give up,” she mutters. “He was last sighted in the Outer Rim near Tatooine. But we haven’t seen or heard anything from him since. We believe that he may be colluding with the Hutt Cartel for manpower and supplies ever since you destroyed his flagship and cut his crew size in half.”

You hold up your hands defensively. “It was mostly the Furies.”

“Yes, them. We’ll talk about them later,” says Lotte. “But right now, Fili. He’s your main man. Find him first, we’ll talk more about other missions after.” Fair enough. “Do it in your own time.”

“Alright.”

-

You and Lotte step back towards the Barloz. The shipyard attendant carefully examines the loading of the new Missile Rack onto the Barloz. “Ah, Commander Ulgo!” He looks over, smiling. “It’s good to see you. Mister Cykgil. Your ship has been resupplied and you are ready to leave Kuat on your own time.”

“Thanks,” you say.

“By the way, we do have a number designation for your ship but you have no official name for it. Just for easing our administrative tasks, we’d request that you give us a name,” he says.

A name for the Barloz?

>>43898052
Something tells me if we're seeking after the treasure we'll likely come across him in ship to ship combat, though him trying to nix us on the ground is certainly possible too. Anyway I'd rather pry his corpse out of a wreck than board a ship but I suppose that all depends on how it goes down and if shooting him down or depressurizing/exploding his ride would leave enough to identify.
>>
>>43898131
We should also ask the Furries is they have any jobs too.
>>
>>43898211
Indeed we should. Its nice with that being an open ended bounty. Allows us to do things on our own time, though while he may show up again it may be a bit too convenient if we're not in the general vicinity and not trying to come across him, even if his hate for us causes him to try to pick up our tail. Anyways just asking the furies if they want something done can't hurt. It'll still take awhile to find the treasure so even if we did one more job I wouldn't whine. Another job after that though is a bit much.

“The uh…” Lotte looks at you, quirking her brow. “The… Lion’s Share?”

Lotte says, “What the fruk are you-“

“Got it,” says the attendant. “You’re free to rename the ship whenever you’d like, Mister Cykgil.” He nods to you, leaving to finalize the records.

“Nice name, what, is it supposed to be charming or something?” she asks.

“Sure it is,” you say, hoping she didn’t just catch you making it up on the spot. “Now listen, I’m going to head back onto my ship. You know how to contact me, alright?” She waves you off, rolling her eyes. “And hey, I’ll catch you later, Lotte. We can catch up a bit more.”

“Bite me,” she says.

“Rude,” you respond as you walk back up the ramp.

“Missions?” Warmaster Vizsla sits upon her throne, flanked by a pair of Nite Fury guardswomen, her best and brightest in the Furies. She brushes her hair back, looking upon you skeptically. “What inspired you to suddenly begin taking favors for Mandalore, Mister Cykgil?”

You shrug, leaning back in your chair, smiling at her. “I just want to know if there’s anything I could to make up for the loss of your Basilisk.” Her scowl grows deeper, her brow furrowing at the mere mention of it. “Of course, I could always just leave you alone-“

“No!” She thumps her fist on the armrest, causing the guards to flinch. She coughs, calming herself again. “W-… we can discuss something. Mister Cykgil, I consider it admirable that you would want to redeem yourself not just in the eyes of the Furies but also in the eyes of myself, the future Mandalore.” She smiles, tenting her fingers and resting her head on her hands. “I tell you what, Mister Cykgil. I do have one favor I may ask of you.”

“What’s that?” you ask.

“There is a weapon that used to belong to my predecessor by the name of Pre Vizsla, the leader of Death Watch, and very briefly Mandalore. What I want from you is to retrieve this weapon, known as a Darksaber. It is an ancient weapon of the Sith, that has been passed down from generation to generation the Vizsla household, that was unfortunately lost sometime during the Clone Wars, I presume the Jedi had something to do with it.”

“You want me to find your Darksaber then,” you confirm.

“Precisely. There is a lead of it on Tatooine, I believe that Jabba the Hutt may help you.” Ugh, dealing with him. “Don’t worry, Jabba the Hutt loves me. I am sure he will accommodate you if you inform him that you have been sent from me.”

“Does he though?” you ask.

“… well, no. But he like his son Rotta is a collector of the fine and the strange. You may find some information there.” Great, just great. “… so. How are you doing, Mister Cykgil?”

You narrow your eyes, small talk? “Um. I’m doing okay, I guess.”

“Oh.” She nods, slightly awkwardly. “Well, excellent. I mean, it would be nice if you were to visit. Perhaps we can discuss this matter personally.”

“Hey, don’t worry, Warmaster. I can set aside some time for you once I get everything settled.” She gives you a happy grin at that. “But right now, my priority is on my tasks at hand. I’ve got some things to find, I’ve got a bounty to hunt, all that good stuff.”

“I understand. But do please visit.” She narrows her eyes, scowling again. “It would be a shame if you left me wanting, Mister Cykgil.” Duly noted. “But alas, I suppose this harsh galaxy we live in demands much from all of us. You may go, Mister Cykgil.” You nod, and the holopad cuts out, leaving you alone in your Captain’s quarters.

Lev steps into your quarters, then shuts the door behind you. “Sir. The hyperdrive is charging. The missile rack will be fully operational shortly for the… Lion’s Share.” He hesitates at saying that. “We are ready to leave Kuat on your order.”

“Thanks, Lev.” You place your holopad on your desk, then pause. “Lev. Can I ask you a question?” He nods. “Exactly how much do you transmit back to Lotte?”

“I transmit what is necessary to my masters. You may be my immediate superior, sir, but I have my orders, sir. I trust you will forgive that.”

You nod. “You’re pretty sharp for a droid I guess then, Lev. Hopefully you haven’t been telling Lotte anything you shouldn’t have, right?”

Lev stares at you. “I have not.” He folds his hands together. “Rest assured, sir. I am loyal to you.” Hm. You nod to him. “Is there a destination for our ship?”

“Lev. Take us to the treasure. I won’t take any chances,” you say.

“Sir. We only have the system, not the precise location.”

“We can spend time in the system. Speaking of which.” You snap your finger. “Contact Jennis D’leer, tell her to meet us at those coordinates. I might need to buy some of her wares.” He nods. “Get it done, Lev.”

“Yes, sir.”

-

-

Another week or two is spent in hyperspace. The Lion’s Share finally enters the system that your four sets of coordinates have led you to. This is it, the treasure of the RAS Bailoff is somewhere in this system. You check the navigation charts with Lev. And of course, the navigation charts are nearly completely useless because this part of space isn’t completely mapped. It may have been mapped out in the Old Republic era, but right now, you only had one planet to explore. “Lev, what’s this planet right here?” you ask.

“There is no record of this planet,” he tells you. Vikker, Misri, and Kuvasz stand behind the two of you, staring out into the deep and empty expanses of the Unknown Regions. You look back, and find Misri shivering a little. “You okay, Misri? Cold?”

“A little.” You actually feel somewhat cold yourself. Something about this system is really throwing you off. You hope you can get out of here fast as you can. And right next to you coming out of hyperspace is Jennis D’leer. “Jennis.” You call her over the comm-link. “You hear me?”

“Howdy, Rhys! I hear you loud and clear on my end! So what did you want to buy from me?”

“We can settle transactions in a little bit, hold on.” You stand up, then turn around and face everyone. “Alright everybody. This is it. Moment of truth. Clones told us that treasure is enough to buy Coruscant twice over, we get it, and we’ll be rich beyond our wildest dreams.” Misri smiles happily, already thinking on buying herself a new Swoop Racer like she’s told you about over the past week you’ve been in hyperspace. “So uh… yeah.”

“Interesting speech,” says Kuvasz.

Jennis calls you over the intercom. “Helloooo! Are you going to buy something or not? I- I mean don’t want to be pushy! Please buy something!”

We won't spend it if nothing like that is available, but now seems a good time to all pitch in, especially as we're so close to the treasure.
>>
> “Alright, alright. Keep your pants. I’m coming over.”

“Alright, alright. Keep your pants on. I’m coming over.” You stand up. “Kuvasz, get ready in the H-Wing. I’ll join you in a bit.” He nods, and the two of you leave the cockpit. Vikker, Misri, Lev, and R5 will remain on the Lion’s Share until you call for them. “We’re close, Kuvasz. Hope your cut of the treasure isn’t too big.”

“It’s not,” he says. “Yours better not be either.”

Ah, well, you were expecting the lion’s share. Hehehe. Yeah, you’re not going to say that. You pull on your helmet, then bring down the visor and the oxygen mask. It’s only a short trip onto the Gozanti, but the Academy and Flight School drilled it into you to keep your oxygen mask on. You sit down in your Spearhead, with Sparks chittering, excited at finally being able to fly. You’re dropped out the back, Sparks following with you, then dismounting and standing right on top of the Chain Gang.

You dock below her ship, then your cockpit is enveloped in an improvised Starfighter mount, probably left over from its fighter carrier days.

Jennis grins, meeting you as you climb aboard. “Well, hello, hello, ya handsome devil you! I declare I still got somethings here for ya to buy, if your purse is loose enough and my gab is good enough!”

“My budget’s short right now. What do you have below 8k?”

This is the makeshift one right? I want Misri to take a look at it to make sure it won't blow up on us.

If it's good we'll take it.

Wasn't it 5.5K? (The Shield Generator?

Actually it is 5.5k, that's my bad. I misread the archive.

Wait, Is this a new or makeshift Shield Generator?

Because if this is the last one, her original asking price was 5.5k

>Anyone ever tell you you're a saint? Anyways if my last purchase kept you fed for months hopefully this is enough to justify you're trip out here. Thanks by the way really appreciate it.

Also if the treasure's big enough could we call her up again to help haul it out for a small cut? Or we could even call the furies in for that if theres some left over, collect a small payment and get in good with them if there's too much for us to feasibly haul. Or we could sell off what we can haul and then rent a ship to come back, though in that case we will likely be followed. Anyway getting really ahead of myself here, counting birds in the bush instead of the hand.

We have the freighter man, I think we can fucking haul the treasure. If we cant then we're even richer than I thought.

Like I said counting birds in the bush as opposed to the hand. Alot of birds. Like a fuck you I'm rich amount of birds. You're definitely right, getting way ahead of myself, especially as the next story post isn't going to be; you found it, got away clean, rich forever. Though I'm sure that's what Rhy's wishes it was.

> Shield Generator: 5.5k

“Alright, one shield generator!” She smiles happily. “Thank you so much! I think I can finally start spending money on getting new clothes!” She wiggles her fists in triumph, showing off her tattered and disheveled clothing. Not too bad, but certainly not something you’d take to a club.

“Thanks, hope that was enough to justify the cost of getting out here. Unknown Regions aren’t great for travel after all.”

“Ah, for my number one customer, I’d cross the great hyperspace disturbance at the edge of the galaxy!” She grins happily. “I’ll get the shield generator installed on your big ship. You do… whatever.” You nod, then climb back down into your R-22.

You sigh, tilting your head side to side until you feel your bones pop and settle. “Kuvasz, grab Vikker as co-pilot then follow me towards that planet.” You squint, and notice a faint ring of what looks to be debris around it. Interesting, maybe the RAS Bailoff is disguised amongst it. “Misri, you’ll bring up the rear once you get that generator installed.”

“Got it,” she says.

-

-

The next several hours are spent searching the ring of debris around the unknown planet. You recognize some of the old hulks spinning around it. These are Hammerhead-class cruisers, dated back thousands of years before the Galactic Empire. You even spot an Interdictor cruiser, and not the gravity well generating kind. You grab your comm-link. “Kuvasz. Find anything?”

“Not on my end,” he declares. “It appears that this ring is a bust.”

[1/2]
>>
>>43901067
[2/2]

“Sensors aren’t picking up anything either,” says Vikker. “They’re getting scrambled by all this debris around us.”

You sigh, then shiver a little. You’re not sure what’s making you so damn cold. Whatever. You check your sensors, and find that the huge amount of scrap and debris is causing them to act up a little. Damn it, last thing you need now. “Think we need to search the planet?” he asks.

“Misri,” you call. “Take over searching this ring. Me, Kuvasz, and Vikker are gonna go to ground, see what we can find.”

“Okay! If you find it though, wait for me, I want to be there too!” she says. Fair enough.

You turn your Starfighters towards the planet. Time to hit the deck. You scan the planet with your eyes as you dive down. Things are nearly untouched here. Well, nearly in the sense that while a beautiful planet, it was absolutely covered in shipwrecks. Something seemed a bit off about this planet, and you did not like it. Your two Starfighters fly right above the oceans, zooming past hulking ships jutting up out of the water. “Anything?” you ask.

“Nothing,” Vikker says. “Sensors are still acting funny. I did see an island back about ten miles, maybe it’s there.”

> “Alright. A dry treasure is a good treasure anyways.”

“Alright, good thinking, Vikker. Dry treasure is good treasure anyways.” You adjust the comm-link, groaning in frustration. Maybe trying to find the last piece of the coordinates would’ve served you best. But, you’re here now, and you are going to find that treasure. “Sparks.” He clicks, chittering in excitement. “Keep scanning by air. Me, Vikker, and Kuvasz are landing on an island, we’ll be in contact.”

A short ten or so miles back, the two of you land your fighters on a beach, the only real clear landing zone on the island for miles. You dismount, and grab your Disruptor and a pair of plasma grenades out of the storage unit. You pull off your mask and dump the helmet back into the cockpit. “Kuvasz, Vikker, we ready?” They nod, drawing their weapons. “Alright, keep alert.”

You shiver as you walk, then stop completely. Kuvasz and Vikker look back at you, stopping as well. “Something wrong?” asks Vikker.

“I dunno.” Gut feeling is telling you that something is very wrong with this planet. You’re not sure what though. “Just keep going, I’m fine.” Vikker hesitates a little, then nods. The three of you walk up the beach path and towards the woods. Misri had improvised a handheld scanning device for you during the week you spent in hyperspace. Vikker was now using it to scan for any large objects or ships as you explored.

“You know. I’m feeling what you’re feeling,” says Kuvasz. “It’s making me feel cold.”

“Yeah,” says Vikker. “I’m starting to see why all that scrap is unclaimed. We might be treading on hallowed ground here. It could be the Force.”

“Force nothing,” you say. “Just keep moving.” Kuvasz grunts, adjusting his armor plating a little, somewhat nervously.

“Wait.” Vikker’s scanner seems to go off. “I got something.” The two of you fall in behind him. He leads you up a hill, obscured by the trees and the long grass. You nearly slip on some rocks too. And you certainly couldn’t help but notice the roar of rancors in the distance. But this is still the Treasure you’re looking for.

But as you come over the crest of the hill, you see it. It was an Acclamator, being claimed by nature. Vines and weeds were hanging over the sides, trees were growing into its landing legs, and huge mounds of dirt that were almost as tall as it surrounded it as well. “… is this it?” asks Vikker.

“Has to be,” you say. You look around. “Doesn’t look like there’s a-“ You nearly trip over a rusting old R4 unit. “Hey, maybe this R4 can help us.” The three of you kneel down and take a look at it. It’s covered in mud and grass, but nothing you can’t fix. You pull it out of the dirt, then bang on it to try and wake it up. Nothing. “Damn it.” You sniff a little.

You blink, then take another whiff. “Do you guys smell that?” They look around, then they stop. They do smell that. “What is it?”

Vikker grips his rifle tight. “I don’t know, but I don’t like it. Let’s get out of here.” What? “Something is really wrong here.”

“I agree,” says Kuvasz. “I’ve never seen a world like this. Something might be stalking us.”

“… did you see that?” asks Vikker. “Poking out of one of those mounds?”

“No,” says Kuvasz. “But I believe you.” He raises his A280C Blaster, scoping out the area. You too raise your Disruptor rifle. “Come on, make haste.” The three of you start jogging out of the area, hurrying along. The scent was getting stronger and stronger.

You bring up your comm-link. “Sparks, Misri. Get over here. We found the treasure, but we might need some assistance and-“ The three of you stop again as a rock suddenly flies out of nowhere and lands in front of you. “Just get over here.”

“Alright,” says Misri. “What’s the matter? Did you guys meet some locals?” Oh, you hope not. You really hope not.

Suddenly, something lands behind you. You and Kuvasz turn around immediately raise your weapons. Standing over you two was a great big bug thing. It stood on two hind lings, and in its four arms ending in massive claws it carried some sort of stick as tall as it. Its compound eyes stared right at you two, and its mandibles clicked and clacked as you stared at you two. And the smell, it was absolutely unbearable.

Oh no. You know what these things are.

“Er…” You blink. You look to Kuvasz and Vikker. “Run.” The three of you immediately broke into a sprint. You decide to drop the R4. Nothing but dead weight anyway.

“Rhys!?” Misri apparently heard that. “Rhys, what’s going on!?”

You crash right through the bushes and forests. You end up back on the beach, but to your horror more of those bug things were standing over your ships, examining it, scoping the items you left behind with it out. One of them was even shoving your helmet into its jaws, but was finding no success with it. “Fruk!” yells Kuvasz. You three look back to the forest, then find the one bug now backed up by three more. Kuvasz fires, blasting one of them. The shot scorches off its exoskeleton, with no damage. “What are these things!?”

“Killik,” you mutter.

“What?” says Vikker.

“Giant bugs, they’re supposed to be extinct,” you say. “Clearly not.” They lord over you, curiously skittering around you two.

So how is the Makeshift Shield Generator doing and how is the power to out ship?

>>
>>43902462
not as long as we have orbital artillery. Nothing short of a capital ship is going to "incorporate" us.
>>
>>43902462

As long as we get out and stay out till we get some gas masks.
>>
>>43902546
Why do we need gas masks?
>>
>>43902569

Joining to these are caused by exposure to the pheromones they give off. Too long and you become part of the hive.
>>
>>43902491
Killiks release a pheromone that hipnotize other creatures to become part of their hive. If they don't eat us because Rancors aren't really a easy creature to hunt down.
>>
....So how fucked are we, Kuvasz just shot a Kikkisk with a A280C Blaster rifle.

The A280 is a blaster known for its penetration and accuracy and the 'C' model is a more powerful version of that and that bug shrugged it off. WTF?
>>
The solution is simple. Burn down the forest.
>>43902622
We still have our Disruptor.
>>
>>43902491

Naw, ship fire should work

How much does it improve shields compared to our old one.

Also where does our Missile rack equip to? Is it one giant 20x or is it two 10x rack ones?

or is it two tubes with 10 shots inside?
>>
>>43902780
1. It doubles shield strength normally what you get. Turning it off will just net you the regular shield strength.

2. The missile rack was split in half, and equipped on either side of the Lion's Share. Kind of like on a Turbo Tank.
>>
>>43902825
Our ship has number designation like Sparks?

So our new shield generator acts as a nitro boost to our ship but instead of speed it's shield strength?
>>
>>43902907
1. Yes but I'm not going to tell you because it's super long and otherwise ultimately meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

2. Pretty much, at least until Misri can figure how to make it stop draining power so quickly.
>>
>>43902924
hey if it can use energy that fast and not burn out might as well make it do something useful with that. MORE SHIELDS!
>>
>>43902924
So what systems fif the V-wing and ARC-170 did they remove?

Any wreckage or possible starships we can pick up in the wreckage on the orbit of the planet?

How strong are these bug's exoskeleton?
>>
>>43903036
1. Weapons are disabled, shielding is buggered by age and rust, engines are buggered as well.

2. Much of the wreckage is thousands of years old, and would only really be useful as museum pieces to sell.

3. Very strong, the Killik have adapted quite well to the planet.
>>
>>43903081
What about the capital ship that is deserted? Won't some of the parts be salvageable for the furies?
>>
>>43903081

What do Old Republic relic weapons like them vibroswords sell for?
>>
>>43903157
>>43903182
The ships are only really usable for spare scrap. As for individual items like vibroswords, it depends on the condition and make. Good condition ones can go for 10k.

>>43903081
Just for future reference back in Kurt what did the defensive armament do?

Also what is the difference in turbolaser of Kurt and not slaver?

Any faction introduction or changes?

Also is the shield generator a internal or external piece of equipment?
>>
I kind of want to take a massive shield from a Star Destroyer and figure out some way to fit our ship with it
>>
>>43903252
1. Flare launcher deploys a set of flares that can throw off missile locking. Sensor Decoy creates a decoy that can fool most sensors and buy you a good amount of time to either escape or get into attack position. The emergency de-ionizer basically negates the effects of ion damage once hit by it but with extensive cooldown.

2. The Kuat turbolaser is single barrel. Jennis is double barreled and much more powerful.

3. No new factions yet. No changes either.

4. Internal.
>>
>>43903334
How much room can we install in terms of weapon systems or have left? Since the H-wing covers a good part of the rood of the ship?
>>
>>43903475
Technically speaking, you can keep installing systems for as long as the generators can hold it. But right now, it would be safe to add on a new power generator or upgrade your current ones.

>>43903513
How much are each of these paths respectively?

Also did Misri do any modification on the ships/equipment/droids on the trip to Kurt or to the treasure planet to keep her busy?

What are the pros and cons or buying a new one compared to upgrading?
>>
>>43904138
Kuat is only for ships and surface level upgrades. Jennis may eventually have power generators however.

Pros of buying are basically flat upgrades to power capacity, such like that. It does mean having to find space for all of it. Upgrading is another flat upgrade, but there will be a hard limit, and even then it can be stressed if too much is put on it.

>>43904177
However that is currently not much of a problem with the Bartolz since it has plenty of room correct?

Where will be a good place to buy droids?
>>
>>43904209
Pretty much.

>>43904226
Tatooine. They have all kinds of droids for sale there.
>>
>>43904263
How many droids can service the ship and be stored ? Since they do not take crew quarters?
>>
>>43904346
depends on the size of the droid.
>>
>>43904346
Depends on the size of the droid and nature of their purpose, but generally the Barloz can probably have at least 10 astromechs servicing it.
>>
>>43904380
Can we program the Astromechs like to take up duties such as gunnery systems, or if we get more ships to pilot them like the Vulture?
>>
>>43904430
Sure.
>>
>>43904441
How much do Astromech's go for?
>>
>>43904506
Depends on the make, model, condition, etc.
>>
>>43904523
How it's cheap or if we can pick up that R4 again since at this rate, this treasure hunt might be a bust.

Or find places to sell old republic salvage, where to you sell stuff like that. the hutts?

You'll have to figure this stuff out next thread. Though I guarantee once the word gets out that there's lots of scrap hanging around, people are going to swarm over it.
>>
>>43904576
Why would we tell anyone about it though?

I mean I think we might be good for two or three runs before people catch wind of it. and the Bartolz and the H-wing can carry a lot of cargo.
>>
>>43904606
We'll have to see.

Thanks for the thread, night german.
