Sitting in front of you is a winded, handsome young man. You've just beaten him down after he refused to stop trying to forcibly hypnotize you in order to attempt to wipe your mind of his seduction abilities.

...And you also realize how odd this situation sounds when you put it in those terms.

Mark, who has been one of your close friends for the past school year, is now asking for permission to attempt to erase your memories—which, he has stated himself, may or may not work because he hasn't tried it before. It turns out that he was getting frustrated with Laura and accidentally turned up the charm a little too high when he went out on a walk with you.

You suspect that the copious amounts of hard liquor the six of you drank also had something to do with his loss of control, but you don't comment on it.

"You gonna let me up now?" Mark asks.

You glare at him. "Still thinking."

"Please, Rachel," Mark begs. "You don't know what you're getting into here."

>Don't tell him anything but attempt to convince him you won't tell
Eh, gives us power over him at least if we should need it. It's been so long I can't remember anything I'd want to ask anyway.

I'm sorry, class schedule made running for long times kind of unfeasible and was busy on weekends.

Maybe I'll try to run more often with shorter sessions?
>>
>>43862593
On one hand that could be nice, you run really really long as it is, so it makes sense.

On the other this is the worst time of the day to start running and participation usually only picks up ~8 - 10 hours from now, so it might just kill your playerbase instead depending on when you do run.
>>
>>43862481
>Question him more
Ask about Laura stuff, also tell him he's not doing any mindwipes or whatever.
>4am start
Well good luck with the session, hopefully some anons stick around.
>>
>>43862481
>Question him more
Ask him what the hell he is. Spines and pheromones are not part of the regular human body

Good point, I'll add that to >>43862636

Oh it was 2 months ago huh. No wonder I forgot the details then.

I'm a night person, which is more a curse when it comes to questing really. I usually get to bed around now and surprisingly many quests I follow start 2 - 5AM. So I miss out on basically the entire thing, instead of sleeping at reasonable times and catching the second half at least.
>>
>>43862706
Geez, it's been exactly two months. How time flies...

Woops, dropped trip.

Well I'm gonna actually sleep then. Good luck, hope enough anons show up to keep it going at least!

Information first, you decide. Ignoring his question, you instead present to him one of your own.

"So you and Laura... Laura really has no idea?"

"No," Mark responds vehemently, shaking his head. "You really think I would tell Laura if I was so worried about you finding out?"

"So you're saying that Laura's a blabbermouth," you say dryly.

Mark snorts. "No, I meant that this is really, really important, and that you should let me get started on the mindwiping thing before they notice that we've been gone for too long."

You wave off his worries. "They're drunk and sleepy, it'll be fine. And nice try, but you're not getting anywhere near my head."

Before he can respond, you continue. "Anyways, what's with the spikes coming out of your back? You realize you've got holes in your shirt now, right?"

Mark tugs at his shirt and mutters a curse word. "You don't need to know," he says stubbornly.

You take a closer look at him. The spines grew either during or after you were beating him up, but they seem to have stopped growing now. Two are around his shoulder blades, and one seems to be coming from his tailbone and poking up from beneath waist of his jeans. You try to get a better look, but he just frowns and scoots to face you.
>>
Mark is getting restless and looks like he's about to say something. You realize that you should probably do something and either knock him out or try to convince him. You're reluctant to continue with the physical violence, however, as he has been your good friend so far and Laura really seems to like him. Comparing how studious and uptight Laura was in high school to the way she's opened up now, Mark's relationship with her might not be so bad.

Still, he is some kind of seduct...tress? er? You can't completely trust what he's saying.

You consider calling Susan, but the thought of running to her for every issue leaves a bad taste in your mouth. You're not going to be much of an agent if you can't take care of yourself, and besides, this issue seems to be within your capabilities to handle.

>Tell him what you are and attempt to convince him
>Don't tell him what you are and attempt to convince him
>Restrain him and call Susan anyways

Spikes sure seem inconvenient for blending in at least. Even if they're not normally there.
>>
>>43863406
>Don't tell him what you are and attempt to convince him
Hmmm...can we let on that we're involved with paranormal stuff and know about it, but not reveal that we're actually Fae? Maybe tell him we work with paranormal stuff?

'course that could also just make him worried, but I dunno.
>>
>>43863406
>Tell him what you are and attempt to convince him
No specifics, just demonstrate that we have the ability to modify ourselves. Drop the hint that there are more who have experienced sudden changes.
>>
>>43863453
>>43863466

Hookay, um, shall I role a 1d2? 1 for don't tell, 2 for show power.
>>
>>43863466
Well since it got a bit quiet in here I'll reluctantly switch to this, but I don't like letting on about our powers to more people than necessary. At least don't mention the Fae part. I'll be off now too, so take care.
>>
>>43863823
Hoo boy, alrighty then.

>>43863466
How do you feel about one more update, then stopping this and starting up again in about 16 hours or so?
>>
>>43863855
I'm fine with stopping after this, I'm planning on heading to bed as well.
>>
>>43863895
Geez, haha, alrighty then. Do I even archive this? "Aborted thread"?

Oh... I actually need like dice rolls. Maybe I'll just stop here for now. Thanks for playing, how ever short it might have been!
>>
>>43863921
I like the quest you just hit the wrong timezone for me
>>
>>43863946
I understand, starting now was a poor decision in retrospect.
>>
>>43863982
Ah, bummer, just saw this up.
>>
Dangit, I missed the start and it's already over!
>>
Hope you run again soon!
