This is Boruto Quest, a quest set in the universe of Naruto. It is during the generation of Naruto's son, shortly after everyone has graduated from their Genin exam. I haven't kept up with the series beyond the end of the original one, so this one is intended to recapture the feel of that time of Naruto. I will not be incorporating the main show or the Boruto movie's plot into the quest, although some recognizable characters will be present. You play as a 12 year old Genin graduate named Takeshi. You have been assigned a Jounin squad leader named Hanto, and your two squadmates are Kichiro, a young delinquent, and Ai, a strange social outcast of a girl. You are of average skill in most aspects, although your sharp intelligence has recently been making itself apparent. The Chunin Exams have begun. The preliminary fights are under way!
>>
Mari vs. Omiko

"Woohoo!" A girlish cheer echoes from your left, and Mari leaps over the stage as her opponent slowly steps down the stairs. Looking over, you can't say that you recognize the girl that Mari is going to be fighting. She's an average height, with long dark hair that's a little bit curly, in contrast to Mari's straighter hair. Omiko is dressed in dark, lightly armored cloth. Her mist headband is sticked onto her right arm, and her gloves both have metal bracers used for blocking knives or swords in a pinch.

You notice that two rather fancy knives are on either sides of her hip.

Mari has her hand placed on her chin, thinking quietly to herself with a smile. You assume that she's thinking about what weapon to use on her poor opponent.

You lean on the railing, confident in who's going to win this fight. Everyone else from your village seems to feel the same, looking somewhat bored.

Shikamaru throws his hand down and leaps away. "Begin!"
>>
Immediately, Omiko pulls for the two knives at her hip and draws them. She holds them, staring forward. You notice that there's been a lack of smack talk in this fight compared to others, and you sense that both competitors are more serious than others.

In any case, Mari seems to be having a good time. She reaches into her robe and pulls out two scrolls. "Well, let's see how you deal with the simpler stuff."

Mari starts to spin in place rapidly, and a swirl of chakra coats her in a sphere. "Rotation!" There's a small crater formed in the ground, adding to the destruction of the arena. This place isn't going to hold up at this rate.

Mari opens up the two scrolls, and they unfold, propelled by the Rotation. They summon all of the weaponry, and centrifugal force propels them in a random storm of steel in Omiko's general direction.

Omiko flinches, but holds fast. She brings up her two knives and starts using them with expert skill, blocking many of the kunai and leaping away from the ones she can't.

She rolls and dashes forward as Mari finishes the jutsu, tossing the scrolls to the side. They engage in close combat, Omiko slashing to the right with her right-hand dagger.

Mari easily blocks the blow with her wrist, striking Omiko's arm to throw the attack off course. Mari steps forward and shifts her position, bringing her back arm forward in powerful two fingered jab directly to the collarbone. You swear that you can hear bone cracking as Omiko is sent tumbling backwards from the impact, until she slams into the concrete wall, groaning.
>>
i'm becoming more and more convinced that you purposefully run the same times as laze
>>
>>43859376
I'll be honest, this time I saw he was running and said "fuck it, why not"
>>
he Mist Genin makes her way back to her feet, blood dripping on her arm from a large elbow scrape.

She looks down at her collarbone, lifting up her shirt just slightly to peek in. You imagine that there's already a bruise forming.

Mari starts to walk forward, menacingly. "Had enough?"

Omiko matches it, calmly starting to step forward, knives in hand. She opts not to respond at all, and once the girls are within five meters of each other, they both vanish momentarily.

They unite in a clash of sparks in the center of the arena, Mari holding up a high quality kunai to block the straight knife in Omiko's hand.

Then, you see it. The only tell is a glint of steel, as the curved knife coils in on itself for just a moment before snapping outward like a living snake, the metal extending as smooth as liquid to try and strike at Mari. She leaps back, the tip of the blade just barely grazing the surface of her skin.

As she lands, she holds a hand up to touch her face, wincing. "A poisoned knife."
>>
Omiko nods. "That's right." She holds up the curved, poison knife. Even still, the metal is slithering and coiling in the air, as if it were alive. What the hell is that thing?

Omiko chuckles, looking at her reflection in the shifting steel with a dreamy, distant eye. "This is Dokuyawa. A rare example of a weapon with it's own will. It's said that the man who forged this blade was a murderer, and when he died his terrible soul possessed it. This is why the blade constantly sweats poison."

Mari scoffs, looking to the side. "That's a nice fairy tail, but I've seen chakra do way more outlandish stuff. Your little ghost story doesn't spook me, I can see right through your jutsu."

Omiko nods. "That's right. It's a shame I got put against you of all people, your Byakugan makes my Hidden Mist Jutsu and my Assassination Techniques useless..It's really a bother."

Mari reaches into her kimono, and you hear the sound of a scroll activating. Smoke is leaking from her kimono as she slowly draws a katana with a white grip and a circular black guard. She crouches down slightly, gripping the blade with two hands and breathing deeply.
>>
Omiko dashes forward with Shunshin, and slashes at Mari with her whip-like sword/dagger. The way the blade extends, you get an idea that the total length of it is about three feet when straightened. While Omiko swings one way, the sentient blade whips to the other. Every attack is a twofold swing, and it's forcing Mari backwards. She has to duck and weave out of the way of each awkward slash, blocking some of what she can. Each effort at attacking is blocked by the curving blade, the steel twisting at impossible angles to defend it's master.

You notice that Omiko's been completely neglecting to use the straight dagger with the bronze grip. Throughout the entire encounter, she's been keeping it at her side and allowing Dokuyawa to do most of the work.

The two disengage, leaping away from each other. Neither of the fighters seem particularly stressed, although you can certainly tell that Mari was putting much more effort into that encounter than Omiko. Having a sword that can fight for you must be pretty great.

Omiko sprints forward, but Mari keeps her stance and thrusts her free hand forward after making a claw. "Air Palm!"

Dust is thrown up as a wave of compressed air rockets forward and blasts Omiko backwards, causing her to tumble. Mari takes her sword in both hands and rushes her down, attempting to attack before she can recover. While Omiko is rolling, she throws the straight, bronze dagger with a sharp spin on it. The blade flies past Mari, who easily dodges it by tilting to the left.
>>
Mari does a downward slash before Omiko can stand up, and she raises Dokuyawa to block it. The blade wraps itself around Mari's sword, and as she tries to tug away she finds herself stuck. Meanwhile, the straight dagger flying through the air curves back, and starts to return to Omiko. Is this weapon sentient as well?

You're guessing that Mari can see it coming, but she'll have to relinquish her sword if she wants to get out of the way. Or, at least it looked that way to you for a moment.

A vein throbbed on Mari's forehead. "UGH! THIS IS ANNOYING!"
>>
Will there be any player input in the near future? If not I'll just go to bed and hopefully catch the last bit of the thread this morning.
>>
>>43859590
Mini said next thread(this one) would be us fighting. Probably Wood girl.
>>
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17h01t4ey78

She lets go of her sword, and starts to spin in place even faster than before. A brutal Rotation starts up, knocking away the boomerang dagger and forcing Omiko to scramble away as her weapons are knocked from her hands.

Mari stops the rotatation, anger in her eyes. Omiko is frantically racing towards Dokuyawa, while the other dagger is dragging itself along the ground to return to her. Mari uses Shunshin to quickly dash over and pick up her sword, and make the appropriate amount of distance.

She remains silent as she resumes the same stance as before, but with a bit more time to deepen it and prepare herself. Unbeknownst to you, she's actually preparing her body for an extremely stressful technique. If she were to overextend herself or misstep, it could ruin her career as a Shinobi forever.

"Eight Trigrams: Sixt Four Slashes!"

Mari lurches forward, and Omiko attempts some form of a dodge. It's useless, however, as in less than a second Mari slashes twice across her. Crimson red threads of blood leak from the cuts, one across the thigh and the other perfectly horizontal on the stomach.

From there, it's all beyond you. Four slashes, eight slashes, sixteen slashes. The blindingly fast movements dizzy your head, and Omiko's body is perfectly still as it's being assaulted. Mari finishes with thirty two slashes in the span of several moments, completing the technique and returning to the stance that she started the attack at. Her knees are violently shaking as she struggles to support herself from the exertion of the highly precise attack, but it was effective nonetheless.
>>
>>43859649

Omiko drops to the ground. Most of her clothes, except for the bits that Mari left to conceal the girl's dignity, have been atomized. All across her body are sixty four different shallow slices, and while they may not cause any permanent damage or scarring, they certainly hurt far too much to continue the fight.

Shikamaru takes one look at Omiko and points to the Hyuuga. "Mari is the winner."

She slings her sword down, the traces of blood spattering off in fine droplets. She drops her combat stance and stands straight, wiping her forehead of sweat. "Phew..That was a little harder in the heat of the moment, heh."

Shikamaru smirked. "Maybe if you didn't have such a taste for theatrics, you wouldn't be so tired. Every Jounin in this room is going to be able to tell that you could have ended that fight way earlier."

Mari shrugs, walking away. "I wanted to give her a fair chance. What's the point of having a match if there's no fight?"

Shikamaru groans in response, and looks up at the screen of names with a bored face. The machine cycles randomly through, until coming to a slow stop.

Takeshi Vs. Roku

I'll sum up what you know about him. He's Mari's team mate, he's sort of a flirty guy with girls, and he's a medical ninja.

>B. Thanks, you're probably right.
Oh man here we go
>>
>>43859884
Assume some resistance to poison. Also,

Roku chuckles. "Of course, I could always just use /that/ jutsu, and kill them all."

He's got some ace. We may have to kill him.
>>
>>43859991
I say our opening gambit should be that transformation jutsu to make a massive smoke cloud the make some clones and sound genjustu him make the clones seem like they're all legit threats. Wait for an opening and bullseye him with that poison we got given, and then hammer him with our regular attacks and normal poison too. Give him no breathing room to handsign or heal.
>>
>>43859884
>medical ninja
huh, might have something to counter our poison then. Good thing we still have a few normal samples of poison to test out first.
>>
You inhale deeply, and sigh before turning back. "Thanks. You're probably right. After all of the amazing things I've seen, I'm gonna need all the luck I can get."

Mari turns back, surprised. She gives you a confused look as you turn away, never expecting Takeshi to remain so friendly and positive after the stress of the Forest of Death, and the battles that have happened in the preliminaries. In fact, it sends a chill up her spine as she watches you march without a care to your uncertain defeat.

Sarada steps in front of you, as you're walking. "Think about this. Have you seen what's been going on?? You don't need to be carried out of here in a stretcher, or worse a body bag. The others here can fight against each other, but you might not survive the same level of combat."

Nearby, Kichiro pushes you and her away from each other and steps in front of you. "Who the hell do you think you are, telling him what he can and can't do!? He wouldn't have got this far without being as good as everyone else!"

Sarada's face remains blank. "It's his choice if he wants to throw away his life as a Shinobi to be an empty headed daredevil."

Shikamaru calls down from the arena, where Roku already stands. The other Genin is about a year older, wearing a green jacket with a net shirt underneath. He has standard navy blue shinobi pants and sandals, and has his arms crossed in a confident stance.

You turn to Sarada. "I really don't have time for this, I can't make everyone wait any longer. Thanks for the concern, but I'll be fine."

You leap down, bending at the knee on your landing before slowly standing up straight. As you do so, you notice the cold sweat on the tips of your fingers and the dryness in your throat. You're actually terribly nervous, even if you might not out right admit it. The Genin from across the arena is looking at you smugly.

>>
>>43860068
Holy shit! Did we just intimidae Mari?! By being nice?!
>>
>>43860175
Personally, I'd prefer False place. Get it going, then transform into something big, untransform immediately after, False place an elephant leaping through the smoke at him, throw a couple of Senbons tipped with normal poison
>>
>>43860175
Our normal stuff is really slow. He'll probably notice it before it effects him to much. The paralytic bug poison we got from Shino, however, is much faster. Hit him in his arms, upper chest, or neck and it should get him right quick.
>>
>>43860190
I love that we're just a fairly standard nice guy. It freaks everyone out because we're in a world of murdering child soldiers and they assume we have deeper issues or are hiding something... but we're just friendly.
>>
Whatever we do, let's not use false sound. I don't wanna give it away as our trump card.

You grin widely. "Good luck!"

He looks surprised for a brief moment, before smiling gently and responding. "Oh, uh, you too. Hey, by the way, I wanted to make a deal with you."

What sort of deal could Roku possibly want to make with you? You hardly know him. You shrug. "Well, maybe. What is it?"

He nudges his head towards your side of the stands. "That girl on your team, Ai? She's awesome! Do you think you could get me her number, or her address or something? Or like, introduce us?? How about this! If I beat you, you have to introduce me to her!"

You blink, scratching your face with a single finger. This is unexpected. "Well, maybe, I guess."

Roku quickly bows. "Thank you!"

Shikamaru looks over. "Done?" You get the feeling he's getting progressively lazier as the fights continue, nodding off every now and then before snapping himself awake. Roku gives him a thumbs up. "Done."

Shikamaru throws his hand down, and leaps away. "Begin!"

>A. Wait to see what he'll do first
>B. Throw Senbon with bells at him
>C. Grab a kunai and use Shunshin to dash directly at him
>D. Use the Transformation jutsu to turn into an elephant, and charge him down. Transform back at the last moment to cover the area in smoke, and create clones as a distraction.
>E. Poison one of your weapons. (Specify which poison to use, and what to poison)

Even if we do use it, we can probably get another one before the actual finals. We get a full month afterall.
>>
>>43860270
eh may plan was to attach the bell we have on us to ourselves and then use false sound to fuck with the guy buy delaying the noise, stop him form hearing it completely, creating the noise in places we're not, and then mixing it up a little to keep him off guard.

Plus we're going to be learning new technique anyways seeing that if we pass this we get a whole month to train.

poison one of the Senbon with normal poison but don't use it now. Also use false place to make him think you're going to dash to the side and throw it at him and then charge him with shunshin and a kunai.
>>
>>43860347
This is good... but not Shino's poison yet. We've only got enough for one dose, right? Don't want to use it until we can practically guarantee a hit.
>>

>>43860347
...not bad, actually. Let's do this.

>>43860396
That's what I'm assuming.
>>
>>43860302
>B. Throw Senbon with bells at him
The trick is that he'll associate the bell sound with an attack. Once this becomes established in his mind, it opens him up to our False Sound attack. That can lead into the opening to deliver our Shino poison special.
>>
>>43860347
Backing
>>
>>43860403
Actually, we have enough for three doses. Besides, we're just prepping the weapons, not throwing them yet. We'll have some in the normal poison, some in the special poison. That way we can use it quickly.
>>
>>43860347
This but without Shino's poison, it's our trump.

>>43860403
three but yeah.
>>
>>43860302
>>F. Write-in
Set up a smokescreen, use it to poison some weapons undetected - regular poisons, not Shino's gift. Set up a few traps in the vicinity, if we can. So long as we're back in place by the time the smoke clears.

Keep in mind that you only have three doses, and you'll be doing at least three or more matches during the finals, against much stronger people. Use it wisely.
>>
>>43860459
and we won't have access to more poison during the month we get off to train?
>>
>>43860504
Obviously not, it's special poison from our teacher
>>
>>43860504
Not more of Shino's probably
>>
>>43860504

>>
>>43860504
Not this specific type of poison. You'll be able to go to the flower shop, but you won't find anything like this again unless you get it from the same source.

I doubt Shino would let you use it as a crutch for the whole exam. He wanted you to have an ace to compete with, knowing that you were smart enough to use it.
>>
>>43860347
Just to confirm

Transform into an elephant, turn back for the smoke, poison your weapons and set up a trap

and then wait for the smoke to clear?
>>
>>43860542
So we should coat the senbon in only normal poison and save the Shino poison for later.

They're stuck in the walls behind you and behind roku, but they're not sticking vertically out of the ground, no. Most of them are near the walls rather than the center anyways.

I think so, but if Shark Tank were really about sharks, what good would the inventions be?

Fuck. Just make a 'Come at me' gesture as soon as the smoke has cleared enough for him to see it. We're trying to use the smoke to obscure the traps.

Okay, new plan. Instead of making a tripwire on the floor, let's wire several of the Kunai in the wall behind us together. Then, when he charges us, we yank on the wire to fling them all forwards, forcing him to dodge. THEN we poison him while he's dodging.
>>
>>43860992

At once, you use the Transformation Jutsu to turn into an elephant. Roku was reaching into his weapon's pouch to attack, but instead stops himself as he watches you in confusion. "Eh? Why an elephant?"

You rush towards him in a wild charge, blowing your trunk loudly.

You cancel the jutsu, and the resulting volume of smoke creates a cloud around you. You're briefly invisible, and you use the time to create a dozen clones all around you. You can hear rapid footsteps around you as Roku starts to attack your illusions, and you hone in on this sound to get an idea for his positioning. You take a handful of senbon with bells attached, and fling them in his general direction. The sound of their tone rings through the air, and the scuffled sound of a small leap tells you that he's dodged to the right.

The smoke is starting to clear. What do you want to do?

>A. Throw Senbon with bells and senbon without bells once you can see him
>B. Use False Sound to create the sound of bells behind him once you can see him, and attack once he's left open.
>C. Dash forward with Shunshin and attack him as soon as you can see him.

>>
>>43861325
Hm...D looks good but he can pull us by grabbing our wire....can we poison the wire?
If not, B
>>
>>43861325

>Write in,

Slip a wire through a shuriken, but throw it to his right when you see him (in like a whipping motion, from right to left). Create a false shuriken to make him dodge into the wire. The wire should entangle around his throat, choking him. And even if he cuts the wire that we are holding, it's wire and it will continue to strangle him.
>>
>>43861325
>>A. Throw Senbon with bells and senbon without bells once you can see him
>>B. Use False Sound to create the sound of bells behind him once you can see him, and attack once he's left open.
>>
>>43861383

Afterwards, just continue to pressure him. It's kind of hard to cut a wire choking you when both your hands are occupied fending off attacks.

And if you keep him moving, that'll just make him pass out from lack of oxygen.

Actually you can't do that because you need to use one hand to manipulate the wire. You can't form handseals for the genjutsu.

Also, if there's nothing keeping the wire tight, why couldn't he just pull it off of him? this makes no sense.
>>
>>43861383
>>43861411

I wanted to add coat the shuriken in poison, then slip wire underneath kunai, then do the whipping motion, but that might be too much.

If he somehow manages to get the wire out of his neck, then the kunai, when it inevitably starts closing in on him, will cut him and start poisoning him.

But that might be too much.

Metal wire once its dug into the skin in a wrapped motion continues to hold it's shape and constrictive properties. Even if the dude managed to cut the wire we are holding, he still has to untangle it from around his throat.

Source: I work in a factory and a dude lost his arm this way. We couldn't untangle the metal since it dug into his flesh too hard and by the time the medics got there the arm was basically dead.

If we can't use genjutsu, throw a kunai to make him dodge to the right then.

I'm the anon who wrote the wire choke and the reasoning behind why I think it would work, the post with the source

>>43861559

Here.

I do not think I will be participating in this quest again not because my suggestion was not approved, but for other reasons I will not go into because I do not want to cause more problems for the QM or other questers.

I do still believe that the wire choke was not all that time consuming, but it is the QM's world and ultimately his decision. Next thread will hopefully have a better time for all involved.

You don't need a second hand to steer you throw it with one grab it with the other and while you're pulling you have a free hand to throw the decoy.
>>
>>43862203
>Decoy 1-2 seconds after the primary
That's not how it works you colossal retard.

Furthermore he'd just cut it and free himself easily. Anything that we could use to garrote him would fuck our hands up by default, and unless it was held tight he'd slip free easily.
>>
>>43862120
>shouldn't taste much different than the QM's

so you've got a pretty good idea of what a variety of dick tastes like, is what you're telling me
>>
>>43862235
The smoke was to cover the primary and the decoy to ensure he moves into the trajectory.
>>
>>43862349
Again, he would cut the wire and it would not be choking him anymore.
>>
>>43862349
The primary would have been seen already and the decoy would be far too late to be useful. Additionally you're completely ignored the wire wouldn't work like you think it does.
>>
>>43862235
Also no it wouldn't fuck our hands the idea is to wrap it around tight enough to constrict him not slice his fucking neck off so he would cut the link but the fact is that his neck would be constricted. We would harass him further so that if he spends time trying to get rid of it we would harm him more with our weapons.
>>
>>43862422
It need to be held taught or it wouldn't work. he cuts it he can breath. a minor exertion of chakra would see to it being loose enough.
>>
>>43862422
How on earth are you going to control how tightly it wraps around his neck? The wire doesn't tighten around his neck because you're pulling it, it does so because of the centrifugal force of the shuriken wrapping around him. The idea is that you're holding it as an anchor so that it doesn't just simply go flying off after wrapping around once, and if he cuts it, that's exactly what's going to happen. This is getting more and more convoluted. You are an absolute joke.
>>
>>43862386
And he has lasers out of his butt therefore any backstabbing is not allowed.

>>
Don't feel bad, Mini. It was bound to happen eventually.

In the meantime, we can use the rest of this thread to plan out not only this battle, but our future battles. So look at it like us using our special ability, or something.
>>
>>43862461
Once it connects with his neck the wrapping around depends on what length did he connect with. I agree if the length is long enough he would have time to react but that's a random factor that would probably be decided by dice.
>>
>>43862549
Why would that be random?
>>
>>43862549
>dice
>in this quest

New troll is new.

It wouldn't wrap that tight around his neck, nor hold that tight if it was cut from us anchoring it. Furthermore he could easily use chakra to loosen it up. He's a medi-nin he has great chakra control. You plan is convoluted, poorly thought out and not feasible.
>>
>>43862603
Depends on where he jumps after the decoy. Ofc if you wanna be a shitlord he can jump closer to you even if he doesn't see because he is facing the decoy and you're in the smoke.
>>
>>43862650
Decoy would come so far after the primary it'd be useless. He'd already have dodged the main and block/dodged the decoy after.
>>
>>43862650
If he's jumping left or right because of the decoy, then he's not changing his distance from Takeshi. So it's set.

it'd be whatever Mini had takeshi and roku land at
>>
>>43862678
Not if you're throwing it in an arc to time it with the decoy.
>>
>>43862692
There's many directions he can move not just left or right. Even if you restrict it with a side he can choose to jump diagonal or any degree really.
>>
>>43862710
arc takes about .5 seconds

>>
>>43862834
Man I don't even know wtf did you just say. Basically you'd be doing an arc with the shuriken treating it like a really long ass whip and throwing the kunai to make him go into the trajectory of it. It's not fucking rocket science.
>>

>treating it like a whip

Too bad wire choke got vetoed, it's a very cool idea visually, makes sense logically IMO and it would have cemented Takeshi's status as a crazy motherfucker.

The problem with this fight is that there's no impetus for either being a spiteful little shit because we're not up against a clear cut prodigy or a cunt or towards showing off, the two things which drive creativity in this quest .
>>
>>43863195

>Takeshi is either a spiteful shit or a show off

neither of these things have ever been true. Takeshi has always said "Fight to win, that's all I care about I want to be the best."

he's literally uninterested in showing off. Maybe pulling a gag on someone, sure, but showing off when we're literally surrounded by dozens of people who could brute force us without a second thought? insane

woops cut my post

but when everyone is being "Dumb" as you put it, and don't move past the issue when I ask them to, it's not my job to take care of you personally. I try to talk to everyone who has a complaint but there are going to be times when I'm going to tell people to stuff it for the sake of just moving on with the quest, despite it maybe not being the nicest thing to do. I'd like to explain the rules and details of why complicated plan after complicated plan won't work.

Here's a new rule. If it's the first move, and you're already thinking about how you're going to beat them, you're doing it wrong. Because you don't know anything yet.

In all the fights in Naruto, and pretty much the majority of Shounin, the first phase of the fight is learning what your opponent can do, and then countering it.

You can't counter someone if you don't have anything to counter.

Getting hung up on the details of why any possible combination of ideas won't work is a serious waste of time. You guys essentially have the ability to plan indefinitely relative to what's happening in the fight

but we were nearing two hundred posts at the second choice of the thread. Ridiculous.
>>
>>43865355
So why was Sarada trying to stop us from entering the match?
>>
>>43865398
Oh sorry I meant to answer this. Because she didn't want you getting seriously injured and therefore being unable to pursue your career of choice.

Getting a limb blown off isn't that unrealistic of a worry. Not to mention Sarada doesn't harbor any sort of ill will towards you, even if she is wary.

So how freaked would the various people be if we kept that same friendly smirk on our face when going total war on Rokuro?

What do the spectators think of our chances?
>>
>>43865464
You'd look as crazy as Speed of Sound Sonic of what's his name from OPM.

also this is Roku
>>
>>43865498
I didn't mean the slasher smile just a little smirk.

So what does every major npc we've interacted with think of our chances?
>>
>>43865559
The ones who like you and know how capable you are are putting this at a solid "Slim"

They don't expect you to win a straight fight. The only people here who know that you're capable of actually winning are Mari, Rock Lee, and Shikadai. Of course, Ai and Kichiro know that you have the poison and that you're super smart, so they're hoping you luck out.
>>
>>43865431
anyone want any more?

Me.
>>
>>43865606
Did anyone of them warn Roku?
>>

Mari told Roku to take you seriously, but naturally he just waved it off.

Winning alone will accomplish that goal.

This is now a planning thread.

Okay, I know it might not even happen, and if it does, it's a bit far away, but I have had this thought for a while now: If/when we end up fighting Mari in the tournament:

How hilarious would it be if we cheated our way out of fighting her *again.*

So, we know that Byakugan can see when genjutsu are being used. And she taught us the false room technique. However, if we can be really fast, we might be able to use false room to cover up a false sound.

So we false sound a surrender at her, complete with lip sync. Now, I know it probably won't work, but if it does, it'll be hilarious! She disqualifies herself by walking away, and we win by default while cheating her out of yet another fight!

And if it doesn't work, then we know that false room can't hide false sound from her, and possibly other jutsus as well. That's going to be important to know.
>>
>>43866208
You'll have a whole month to train and prepare. For now it's sort of pointless to speculate, as everyone else is going to have a whole month to train too, so expect them to have new tricks as well.

Also, you cannot preform two genjutsu at once, unfortunately. But false sounding a lip synced surrender would be pretty great if you could land it.

by false room I assume you mean false place, also
>>
>>43866261

Yeah, that. I didn't want to do them at exactly the same time, either. I was kinda hoping we could try and time it juuuuust right so that we do the signs for false sound when she's busy dispelling the false room. We may not be able to have two genjutsu up at once, but we can use false place to hide the signs we use for other jutsu, right?
>>
>>43866261
>>43866467

>False room.

I meant false place. Again. Sorry. Also I guess I should take your advice about having a month to train, so much of what I know will have changed. I've just got tunnel vision on this idea because I want to troll her even harder.

I won't lie, my goal is to get an "Oh no he didn't." from the audience at least once in this tournament. I mean, I guess winning no matter what would accomplish that, but... this idea's been in my head for a while now, so I can't help but be really attached to it. I'll try and let go a bit, though, because tunnel vision sucks.
>>
>>43866467
Some other form of distraction would probably be more effective. She doesn't need to dispel your Genjutsu when she can tell at a glance what's real and what isn't by it's chakra composition. Naruto was able to fool Neji with his clones by splitting the chakra evenly between each individual, but your illusions will be constructed of very little chakra, making it obvious.

But if you ever had her distracted or could sneak the Genjutsu on her without her realizing what you've done, you can wait until the proper moment to falsely surrender.
>>
>>43866546
woops my trip fell off.

>>43866543
It'll be pretty inevitable that something like that will happen along the lines, considering the eccentric personalities you'll be up against
>>
>>43866577
Next thread when?
>>
>>43865355
Plotting a course of action does not require intel from the enemy. You modify your main plan according to what you learn in the fight.

Naruto didnt have to wait for Kakashi to send him a bio of his past life to formulate plans to try and grab the bells in his first exam. Same with Zabuza, and many other fights. They take action and then according to how they react reformulate them. I dont know where this "thinking is bad because it's just the first post" came from.

And also you're complaining that we're thinking every choice "too much"? We're fucking boned against anybody of this league, one mistake means we go byebye because we dont have le ebin powers to try and overpower them, our only available tool is our intellect and the element of surprise, if we dont brainstorm new ways of approaching combat then we're deleting the element of surprise from our list of skills and we're also removing the intellect part, what do we have left then? I dont know what the hell you were expecting us to do, I really dont, jumping around throwing senbons and kunais until we run out?

I like this quest, but I'm starting to worry with statements like "we were thinking too much".
>>
>>43868295
He was saying we're trying to do waaaay too much and make overly complicated plans based on nothing. Remember how close Shikamaru came to getting rekt just for his karmic revenge? It's like that, too many moving parts, or overly complicated crap doesn't work.
>>
My plan is to get in close and make an attack that would have been lethal if we'd chosen to do it, then make some safe distance and stare him down.

Then we tell him to surrender, because the next time a chance to end the fight comes up, we won't pass it up for his sake. Intimidate him into surrendering.

It's even better if we're low on chakra and fall on our ass from exhaustion the moment he's surrendered, just start laughing and say, "Damn, I'm glad that worked. I don't think I coulda pulled a move like that again."
>>
>>43869418
We did the same thing with Mari in our spar. Additionally he's going to be much better in Cc than we are.
>>
>>43869418
So your plan is to win the fight, and then do a bunch of gay and pointless theatrics like a fucking retard?
>>
>>43869880
Looks like it
>>
>>43869418
This is some real shit taste you got here.
>>
Is Salad worried about us?
That's kind of...cute.
Boruto be mad
>>
>>43872473
Boruto is always mad. Screw him.
>>
So we should expect some sort of AOE from his previous comments in the forest. It sounded like it would be widespread or homing technique. So biochemical or gas from medical ninjutsu or many some fire or lightning technique
>>
>>43872473
Kid is always pretty pissy anyway, though it's nice to know that despite thinking of us as a calculating sociopath Salad still cares
>>
>>43875164
Are we her 'friends' now?
Or just Sakura used us to tease her
>>
>>43875208
Both?
>>
>>43875208
Both
>>
>>43875106
He's got a Kamehameha wave.
>>
>Hanto's such a lazy shit that he didn't even bother getting us a trainer
I hope he dies alone in a ditch
>>
>>43875403
Fuck him
We'll find our own teacher, with genjetsu and poisons
>>
>>43875479

He's probably counting on that, which is why he didn't bother in the first place. He "knew" we could do it.

Actually, you know what? For all his laziness, dude's pretty good at getting dosh, right? Why not help him play his strengths in exchange for a cut? Money's a superpower in its own way, after all.

...or was that just a fluke that one time?
>>
>>43875636
Bribe him with some alcohol
>>
>>43875725
That would probably b the best way. And super face five as well.
>>
>>43875785
Da fuck autocorrect your drunk! Effective not face five.
>>
I am itching for that fight so bad right now.
>>
>>43875785
I kinda like the sound of face five.
>>
>>43878365
Yep Takeshi's newest Genjutsu Face Five. He doesn't do anything but gather chakra and walk towards his opponent then decks them in the face.
>>
>>43879751
>while mr. Special Snowflake is doing shounen monologue during battle, Takeshi walks up and knocks their lights out
Kek

It won't happen, but the thought is funny.
>>
>>43880683
I would like to see that written as a filler.
