Welcome to Banished Quest!
You take the role of a young mage labeled a criminal by his people and cast out into the wider world. In the last thread you spooked a few grave robbers into serving your family and traveled through the spirit realm to return to your body.

It is currently the 24th of Svarthi, in the year 936 NH.

You passively wonder whether or not those warped lands will ever return to normal, somehow you doubt they will. The air there had seemed still, the wind did not stir the sands nor whistle through the arching pillars of black stone. An eerie silence blanketed the place, accompanied by an overwhelming sense of dread which seemed to weigh upon your chest despite your lack of physical form. It was an immense relief to escape its borders, and as you drift across the desert sands towards Nazir, you contemplate why you did not get the same sense of unease when you visited in your physical form to erect the cat spirit's shrine.

Lost in thought you soon find yourself approaching the city's walls without even realizing how far you've traveled. Curious that you felt so conscious and sure of yourself in that ancient tomb, yet here in lands not blanketed in corrupted vys you can barely keep yourself conscious and aware. In a way it's a blessing, time slips away from you with welcome rapidity when you can't both to keep track of who you are, but it's also concerning. Could it be a sign of the degradation of your physical form?

That thought drives you towards the palace with renewed haste. This late in the evening, the streets are abandoned save for the patrols of guardsmen through its streets. Much of the army is still camped outside the walls, what remains of it after the battle that is, but some soldiers have already left the city to return to their homes. These men are some of the very few to have faced a void beast and walked away from the encounter, it almost seems like a waste to let them simply slip away into obscurity.

You make it over the walls and through the city without incident, but the palace proves a slightly more daunting task. It practically glows with activity, even at this late hour. You think there might be some sort of celebration still going, as you spot a great mass of people in the courtyard. Dancers, jugglers, acrobats, indeed all manner of entertainers moving through a throng of well dressed men and women. Perhaps the local nobility, come to honor your brother's victory?

You fly around the side of the castle, in search of the window to your brother's solar. You feel Zahak's thoughts brush against yours, but they're indistinct. Flavored with tinges of memory and wisp of half-forgotten emotion. You think he's dreaming, and judging by the brief glimpse you're afforded it seems like a good dream. It's comforting to know that, even without your physical body, you can still communicate with Zahak should the need arise.

You find the solar soon enough, but slipping through the window you find it abandoned. Your body does not sit where you left it, and there is not a soul in sight. Frowning, you drift through the room and out the great wooden double doors. You suppose you were discovered, and dragged off somewhere upon discovery of your unconscious state. The most logical place to deposit your body would be your room, so that's the first place you resolve to check.

Before you even reach your own doorway, you can hear the voices of your companions engaged in heated argument. You pause outside the door to listen in, your curiosity getting the better of your judgment. “-brother! He's ruling in their father's stead, he'd be able to force the priest to keep Mik alive while he's off getting himself reduced to a gibbering idiot by the creatures of the void!”

That's Darzi's voice. To your surprise, it's Profectus who voices opposition to the idea. “Relax, Gun.” You think this is the first time you've ever heard someone use a shortening of Darzi's first name. “I'm sure he's fine. It hasn't even been a day yet, and yeah his pulse is weak but the same is true of anyone while they're asleep. I don't think that's any reason to go crashing through his brother's party demanding he drag the priest out of bed and force them to help Mik.”

You try to put your shoulder into the door to open it, but it seems in your own world you're far less physical than you were in the void. You pass straight through the wood, a strange sensation of nausea and dizziness momentarily overwhelming you. The conversation ceases immediately the eyes of your companions, Mortia, Fulvia, and Chrys included, turn towards you.

Darzi takes a few hesitant steps towards you, her head cocked to one side. “Mik?” She ask, but you don't respond. You just slip past her and through the doorway into your bedroom. Your body lies under the covers, head rested against a pillow. You'd almost think you were simply sleeping, were you not currently a disembodied spirit.

THIS THREAD IS A FEW DAYS LATE

You try simply slipping back into your body, but that doesn't work out. Any part of the shell of vys you've constructed around your exposed soul that touches your actual body is destroyed, scattered into your surroundings and almost immediately fading from sight. In the interest of expediency, you simply cut any ties you have with the shell and it disappears, the vys surrendered to the endless sea of ambient vys that blankets the world.

That done you focus, reinforcing the dull yellow sphere that compromises the outer shell of your soul. Golden light starts to build beneath its surface until all at once it spills out, filling the room with its brilliant light. You're not sure if anyone besides you can actually see it, but it's a beautiful display regardless. Thus prepared, you guide your soul towards your body. However, you meet resistance as your soul touches flesh. It's like some invisible, pliant barrier keeps you from resuming possession of your body. Try as you might, you just can't get past.

On a hunch you reinforce your soul further, and the more vys you push into your soul the less resistance you face. Pain burns through your arms as you suck in a deep lungful of air, eyes snapping suddenly open. You're alive, and you're physical again. The door burst open only moments later but you don't pay your companions any mind, forcing yourself into a seated position and rolling up the sleeves of your under robes.

The tattoos on your arms are giving off an ominous red glow, casting curious patterns of light across the room as they writhe and twist across the surface of your skin. They almost seem alive, the intricate designs contorting themselves into even more complex patterns as they revolt against the intrusion of your soul. You wonder if that's a result of the dragon blood and bone mixed in with the ink, or purely a result of the runes on the back of your hands.

Your thoughts feel clouded and foreign, but you assume the effect will pass with time. Darzi is looking at you warily, a dagger in hand, while Fulvia, Mortia, and Profectus wait by the door. Chrys, though she doesn't have her weapon drawn, rest her hand upon the handle of her mace. They're probably worried that you're possessed by some sort of foreign spirit, or something.

You gold up a hand, causing Darzi to flinch away as though she expects you to start spewing fire. “Relax, it's just me.” You try to sound reassuring, but you don't think it has much effect. “I was just meditating is all, I got a little side tracked and ended up leaving my body unoccupied for a bit longer than I'd intended.”

Chrys raises an eyebrow. “If that is the case, why did you not return through the void and why could we see you as you entered the room? From what I understand, the soul is an invisible thing save to those deep in a meditative trance or using an artifact.”

You're not really sure you want to admit to screwing around in an ancient tomb while they were worrying over your impending demise, Darzi will probably yell at you for not giving them some sort of warning, which isn't really something you want to deal with at the moment.

You sink back against the headboard, only now noticing that you're wearing fresh clothes. The under robes you're wearing now have a subtle pinstripe of gold thread, something your previous robes lacked. Well, whatever. It's not important at the moment. “It's something of a long story. The gist of it is, I discovered a palace probably built by some sort of ancient enchanter while I was exploring the void. Inside this palace I found a runic array tied to a second array inside an old abandoned tomb which lies deep inside the Pa'vala, from what I gathered.”

Fulvia perks up. “Wait, hold on a moment. Did you say you found a man made construction inside the void, and more than that a construction with direct and permanent ties to our own reality? Such a thing should be impossible. The void consumes any physical object left too long inside, barring the protection of a native that is.” She nods towards your cloak, currently neatly folded on the bedside table.

You might theorize that items left in the void are not so much consumed as dragged off by that strange entity you met after 'assassinating' the Shah. However, now is not the time nor the place for that particular discussion. “Whoever made it seems to have first constructed a pocket of our reality within the void. I learned whilst meditating that the void is bound together by some manner of silver rope, and between these the enchanter had woven a series of golden threads.”

Fulvia seems on the cusp of asking a follow-up question, but Darzi beats her to the punch. “You were saying something about a tomb...?”

(1/2)

>>43712471
What?

File: Chryssa Avci.jpg (197 KB, 700x1165)

Right, right. Back to the story. “I found a tomb which housed the body of the enchanter and a few grave robbers currently engaged in, well, robbing his grave. Their theft activated some sort of trap, but I managed to trick them into handing over the artifact they'd stolen and that calmed the constructs sent to rip them limb from limb. They ran off, promising to serve my family with undying loyalty, and instead of returning to the void I opted to return via the cat's spirit realm. So I had to fly back to Nazir from the warped lands where the portal to the void once sat.”

A thought occurs to you. “By the way, what did I look like? I perceived of myself as more or less looking how I look, just glowing gold and transparent. However, if none of you recognized me it seems safe to assume that wasn't the case.”

Chryssa shrugs, letting her hand fall away from her mace. “You appeared as an apparition. A being of golden light. Humanoid, and vaguely masculine, but I could not have said much more than that.”

Darzi shoots Chrys a strange look, you might call it suspicious, or perhaps concerned. “I didn't even see that much. You were just sort of a formless collection of white mist shooting through the room. I sort of just assumed it was you because, well, it seemed more likely than you being a wandering spirit which just so happened to detect a soulless corpse to possess.” She slides the dagger into sheath hanging from her hip. “I decided it was best to be safe.”

Profectus just shrugs, while Mortia shifts her weight uncomfortably from one foot to the other. Curious, how strange phenomena appear to those of differing levels of sanity. “Right then, since we're all in agreement that I'm not some sort of horrendous monster escaped from the void. What's with the celebration downstairs? It seems I've missed something.”
(2/3)

Now Mortia chooses to speak, seemingly glad for the change of topic. “Zaahir elected to invite a bunch of nobles and officials from the city and the surroundings for a feast, he sent the invitations out after the battle ended but most of them are only just now arriving. We're actually supposed to be there, we're going to be honored or something by the attendants, but I snuck away after Profectus found you in the solar.”

>Well, you should probably haul yourself out of bed and get dressed to attend the feast.
>Feasting sounds so dull. You'd much rather get back to meditating. You still haven't found a gateway to meditate upon.

Hey Soma, Elaudia was one of the options for places to go way back in thread one right? We'd heard legends about beast masters or some shit like that? Is it going to be possible for us to learn that or would we have to reinvent it?

You throw back the covers, sliding off the feather mattress and stretching to work some of the stiffness from your limbs. Not moving at all for... well, you're not actually sure how long you were away from your body. The majority of the day, you can confidently say that much. “I think I will get dressed then. I'll meet you outside and we can head down to the feast together. Relax after a stressful evening.”

Chrys nods before she turns to leave and Darzi follows suit shortly after. Once your companions have cleared out of your room and shut the door so you can change in private, you snatch your cloak off the bedside table and lay it out across the mattress. It doesn't take more than a few minutes for you to pull on the layered purple and gold Grandmaster's robes and the worn leather boots you've had since your journey began. Once you've fixed your brooch onto your robes, you throw on your cloak with a suitable dramatic flourish and stride out the door.

Your companions are waiting for you, mostly clustered about a hookah pipe sprawled amongst pillows, though Profectus is poking through a wine rack. You snap your fingers to get their attention. “Let's get going, I don't want to leave the local nobility waiting for too long.” Even if you probably do immensely outrank most of them, they're still your family's subjects. Thus, it would be wise to stay on their good side.

As Profectus walks past, you fall in next to him at the front of your little gaggle of freaks and misfits. “So what did you need me for? I think Mortia mentioned you were looking for me.”

A spark of recognition flits across his face. “Right! Shit, I almost forgot. Listen, Mik. Do you remember me telling you about meeting some weird guy in El-Amin who carved a symbol on my arm?”

You vaguely remember him telling you that, you think. “Sure, what of it?”

(1/2)
>>
He glances around briefly, but ultimately shrugs. “Well, it's been acting up lately. Like, I decided to meditate. Since, y'know, I'd been neglecting it lately. When I started to fall into a trance though I felt like... I don't know, like there was someone with me, in my head. Something else that wasn't me. It was this vast, alien presence, like talking to Fulvia with a brooch, but it wasn't saying anything and I'd swear by the Niki's blade it wasn't Fulvia.”

You've theorized for a long time now that his arm was the result of trying to fuse a spirit with a mortal, and this pretty much confirms your suspicions. You've seen minor fire spirits flitting about his arm several times already and they seem more or less harmless, but if there's a much more powerful spirit lying dormant in his arm you worry for his sanity. What if one day he blast some poor unfortunate soul into a smear of black ash on the ground and for his trouble the spirit in his arm awakens and tries to take over his body?

On the other hand, what if he can only unlock his arms true potential by awakening the spirit? What if, would he only speak with it, he could unlock some previously unknown potential? You can only imagine what sort of power one might gain from having a spirit for an arm. Harnessing the power of the divine itself with a gesture could be immensely useful.

eh soma explained that in his pastebin/thread after finding out about disciples.

are all you guys forgetting that either prof or darzi are either at their limit or almost at their limit?

the only ones that could go full magic are mortia, mick, and chrysa.

yo soma what did our master say were the limits again?
>>43715774
i'm up for drugging our friends and helping them out with their meditations.
>>
>>43715812
Prof could only manage GM in one element.
>>
>>43715848
>>43715664
Getting a couple ranks in metal, even if he doesn't get anywhere near GM, is better than nothing when fucking with spirits. We can probably find or make >implying some enchanted item that boosts mental/soul defenses even more to help him make up the some of the difference.
>>
>>43715664
Being at the limit doesn't mean you can't learn new things, just that it's more difficult (negativ modifier to meditation rolls). The modifier gets larger for each element you have at limit level (we don't know what that is for them, probably expert or master), but you can learn the low steps (novice, apprentice) of an element just fine, even with -8 it is still possible to beat a DC of 20 if they spend. Now pushing everything to master before having one at GM would be bad, because then GM will be almost impossible because of the modifier.

>>43715848
"... two at the most, with difficulty"
>>
>>43715898
Or we could make our metal GM to bind the spirit's essence to Prof's soul to make it subordinate to him or something.

As the two of you walk through the halls of your brother's palace you explain, in brief, your theory regarding Profectus' arm. That it's actually a spirit somehow bound to his body by ancient Rhynian enchanters and that it lies dormant for some unknown reason. You actually wonder, briefly, whether the spirit realm you discovered in Anthus had anything to do with the spirit in Profectus' arm. You think Mahana mentioned that it had belonged to a spirit other than the one occupying it, who was too weak to really do much with a realm of his own.

He follows along in stunned silence until you reach the bottom of the stairs, at which point he puts a hand on your shoulder. You stop, turning to find him staring at you with the most serious expression you can ever recall him wearing. That's saying something considering you've seen him bleeding out with a gaping wound in his side on a battlefield swarmed by horrendous monsters from outside reality.

He takes a deep breath, steadying himself. “Mik, why didn't you tell me this sooner? I've wanted to know what my arm is for years, technically centuries. How long have you been thinking about this?”

You run your fingers through your hair while considering an answer. Finally, you shrug. “To be honest, I wasn't sure whether or not I was right. The only reason I chose now is that this other presence has resolved my remaining doubt. I always though that surely if there was a spirit living in your arm, you'd notice it. As for how long, probably a month now.”

(1/3)
>>
Sometimes it still strikes you as odd how drastically your life has changed in less than three months. Friendships forged in the fires of war, and all that. “While we're on the topic of that arm of yours, I recommend you attempt to communicate with the spirit but at the same time look into Metal magic. Not only will it allow your arm greater flexibility in terms of use outside blasting things to dust, it will also help you defend your mind against this foreign presence. It's saved my life numerous times already.”

Profectus rubs the back of his neck uncomfortably. “I don't know, Mik. I mean, learning another elemental branch of magic? I'm struggling just with Fire and Earth.”

You glance towards the grouping of your other companions, only a few feet away. “You guys go on ahead, I'd like to speak with Profectus privately.”

Darzi nods, and following her lead Mortia, Chryssa, and Fulvia trail off towards the sounds of revelers. Turning back to Profectus you rest a hand companionably on his shoulder. “Listen, you know I'm here to help you if you need help. All you have to do is ask, it's really no trouble at all.” He's about to protest, but you cut him off. “And, as I've learned growing increasingly skilled with the magical arts, it has certain uses outside of combat as well.”

He doesn't seem to pick up on what you're talking about, so you try to be a little more clear. “Metal magic can reinforce more than just your soul, your mind, or your bones. Anything you can think of, it can... harden.”

The pregnant pause seems to get the message across, you would think you just revealed some great prophecy to the degenerate, the way his face lights up. “Really, now? Well, maybe I should look into it. There's no such thing as being able to endure for too long. If it reduces the amount of rest I need, perhaps it could even allow me to fight more than one opponent...”

(2/3)
>>
Talk about a titanic shift. He's gone from reluctant to eager in the space of a minute. “I thought that might interest you. Now then, we've a party to attend. Do try not to get yourself killed making advances on a nobleman's wife.” You clap him affectionately on the shoulder before turning to walk off. He joins you, his usual levity returned.

When you reach the courtyard you find that the immense crowd has parted somewhat to allow a group of monks to perform their traditional whirling dance. From what you understand it started as a form of meditation, though most don't use it any more. They twist and twirl, their long robes flaring out around them as they flow through and around one another like water. One man plays oud, another a camel skin drum, and a third an enormous qanun, a type of string instrument with seventy-two strings.

Some of the onlookers clap and cheer as they watch the priest twirl around the courtyard, but you're more interested in finding your companions. Profectus is already wandering off towards an opened barrel of wine has been opened and wooden cups are being distributed, but you can see neither hide nor hair of Darzi, Mortia, Chrys, or Fulvia. They were only a minute or two ahead of you, how far could they have really gone?

>Meh, enjoy yourself. They've got Darzi with them and she's got a good head on her shoulders.
>Look for your brother. That's probably where Mortia will be, since she's supposed to be a guest of honor just like you.
>Your presence doesn't seem immediately necessary. Maybe you could find Jinan, the leader of the slaves assigned to you, and sneak off somewhere.

>>43717685
First off, there's very little need to hide such things from our party.
Darzi is the only one with such cultural leanings and she was even supporting Cryssa, so I doubt she'd expose us.

And if we can't hide anything from people outside out house? Well damn we suck at life.

>>43717735
Hey man, I just want to seek the booty, actually acquiring the booty can wait until we're in the right place, but it must be sought before it can be found.
>>
You need to find your companions. Even if they've got Darzi with them, this crowd probably isn't fond of foreigners. On that note you wander over to the wine barrel where Profectus is already on his second cup, and after filling your own you drag him along towards the crowds to keep him out of trouble as much as to help you search for your other friends.

One would think that in a crowd of Samjan nobility, a band of humans would stand out. However, humans all tend to sort of blend together in terms of appearance and the number of slaves running about is truly astonishing. You didn't even know your brother kept this many staff, and this is probably just his servers. The kitchen is probably home to quite a number of slaves as well, and the cleaning staff is presumably kept out of sight.

You stick to the edges of the crowd as you search for any sign of Mortia, Darzi, Fulvia, or Chrys. After a few fruitless minutes, during which you spot your brother sitting upon a raised dais with his wife by his side but no sign of your friends, you decide to simply contact them via the brooches. {Where is everyone? I turn my back for a second and the lot of you scatter to the far flung corners of the Earth.}

Worryingly, you don't sense Mortia through the brooches. However, just as you're starting to feel a rising sense of panic Darzi's voice carries over the connection. {We're in the foyer, Mortia got dragged off to get changed and we're waiting for her to make a reappearance. Sorry, I probably should've told you earlier.}

Mind Reading a thing.
>>

the third one was a good assumption by the way, it was right
>>
You think she might be making a dig at the fact you didn't give them any forewarning before running of to traipse about the void. If she is, it's awfully petty of her. Regardless you turn on your heels and march towards the opposite end of the courtyard, where the entrance to the palace proper lies. Almost immediately you spot Darzi, Chrys, and Fulvia standing together with a Samjan man wearing the unadorned white robes of a slave.

You approach, and Darzi introduces you to the other man. “This is Mikhael, he's the other Matha.” She shifts her attention to you. “Mikhael, this is Bhaskar. He was just explaining what will be expected of us during the ceremony.”

Wait, why are they involved? “Shouldn't he be explaining to Mortia and I? What do you have to do with all this?”

Bhaskar interrupts. “If you'd not been wandering off on your own perhaps you would have heard my earlier explanation. The human woman-” He says it with so much disdain it's almost palpable. “-has selected this woman and your pets as her honor guard. They'll be expected to act according to the traditional ceremonial format. I would expect you to know this, as a noble's son. Even if you are a Vatis.” Again, a note of disapproval.

The temptation to let Ricky out of the cloak to have a little fun is real, but you hold off for now. You wonder if he realizes that Chryssa and Fulia can speak Samjan, or he's only acting like this because he thinks the 'pets' can't understand him. “They'll likewise be serving as my honor guard. They are, after all. My closest friends. Not to mention competent besides. I've seen the horned one rip beast twice or three times her side in half with barely any effort, and this elf could burn Surya himself with that arm of his.”

>implying I'm the same anon.

The slave turns up his nose, but seems to have the good sense not to say anything. After waiting for a few seconds to see if he'll mouth off you continue. “Now then, slave.” You emphasize the word. “Where can I meet might I find whatever ridiculous costume I'll need to wear for this ceremony?”

He smiles condescendingly. “Your robes will suffice, even if they aren't in a cut approved by the Shah. I'm sure if any other madmen decide to test your skill, you'll be quick to burn down the city proving your talents.”

We can then do a side note of how even mundane uses exist for Vatis, by cleaning up all the blood he spilled into a ball and then making him go get a bucket for us to put it in.

Purge all weebs.
>>
Been a while since I got banned in banished quest for shit posting, but I find it funny that it got labled as /b/ stuff instead of /a/.
Especially since the word has been used a lot in past threads.
I guess the anon who replied was a janitor.
Oh well it happens when the QM is going slow enough that shit posting develops naturally.
>>43719470
>saying that when Mik himself is a racist and his people are also racist.
>hell saying that when the QM regular goes to /pol/
How new are you?
>>
Well.
I missed most the thread.

You're not going to let a slave treat either you or your friends this way. Your brother owns this man, at a word from you his life could be forfeit, or at the very least he could be relegated to cleaning the stables for the next decade. You're about to tell him as much, when an idea occurs to you. On a whim you dump what remains of your wine on the front of his robes, holding up the now empty cup invitingly. “I'm glad we've reached an understanding, now if you'd be so kind as to get me more wine I'll allow you to return to your duties.”

Profectus watches on with obvious confusion and Fulvia seems unphased by your actions, but Chrys and Darzi seem amused. The former smiles a slightly sadistic smile at the sight of the slave's distress while the latter is trying very hard not to laugh and not doing a very good job of it. Bhaskar stalks away, radiating an almost palpable sense of rage as he leaves the foyer.

It's then that you turn to your companions, switching to Rhynian. “Listen, I've got an idea on how we can make him piss his robes but I'll need your help.”

Darzi's response is immediate. “I'm in. What's the plan?”

Profectus interrupts. “Hold on, why are we screwing with this guy? What did he say?”

Chrys answers. “Suffice to say it was very rude, and he deserves whatever he gets.”

Profectus doesn't quite seem satisfied, but by the same token he doesn't seem to care a great deal. “Alright, fine. Good enough for me I guess. What are we doing?”

You explain your plan to them in brief. Once you've finished, your companions start to move into place. Chrys slides her armor's mask over her face and slinks off to hide while Darzi works on getting everyone cleared out of the foyer, so it will just be you and your companions. Fulvia drops the projection of a human form, revealing the artificial muscle beneath.

Once everyone's in place you reach up, and channeling magic create an illusory zipper on the back of your neck. Sliding it down would seem to allow your skin to simply slough off. Underneath you would appear to any outside observers to be a desiccated husk of a person, your skin pulled taught against bone. Where your eyes should be there are instead bottomless pools of black housing pinpricks of golden pale white light, and just for good measure you make sure your teeth appear as sharpened razors poking out of your mouth haphazardly. Hiding your cloak beneath a veil of magic you have Ricky slide his tentacles out of the cloak, writhing them in the air such that they appear to belong to you. With that, the illusion is complete.

Profectus lends his own not inconsiderable talents to the ruse as well. The stone of his arm seems to grow across his flesh, consuming him until all that remains is stone. Two great horns sprout form either side of his head, twisting backwards and ending in cruel points. Where his face should be there is instead only a collection of holes allowing a glimpse into the raging inferno beneath the surface, flames licking out across his rocky skin and two burning eyes staring out at the world hatefully. Spokes protrude from every surface, adding to his menace.

Darzi returns once she's finished sealing the foyer through all but one entrance, jumping at the sight of the two of you, but quickly calming herself. “Gods above, you three. I'm glad you had me clear the foyer and we'd have every guard in the city charging here to wipe out the last remnants of the void incursion. What do you want me to do now?”

You and Profectus share a look, and not one minute later Darzi is held within Ricky's tentacled grasp. Her neck is exposed and your teeth are buried in her flesh. Blood oozes from the wounds, and a great chunk of her flesh is already missing, a chunk which Profectus is currently feasting on. Fulvia meanwhile takes jittery, unnatural steps towards the elevated Darzi, her artificial muscles seeming to warp and contract in impossible ways. Bhaskar returns at the best possible moment, a wine cup in hand.

He doesn't notice anything amiss at first, his eyes focused on the ground, but when he looks up he immediately stops in his tracks. The wine cup falls from his hand, spilling its burgundy contents across the white marble floors. Ricky is quick to deposit Darzi's 'corpse' lightly on the ground and retract his tentacles into your cloak, zipping up the illusory zipper as the last of his tentacles vanish. Profectus likewise starts to change back, the stone seeming to slowly flake away until he drops the illusion entirely. Fulvia simply stops, her human form appearance returning, and stares at the intruding slave with unflinching intensity.

There's a standoff as the slave slowly backs away, absolutely horror stricken. He bumps into Chrys, who roughly shoves him forward onto the ground. Bhaskar scrambles to get to his feet, only to meet face to face with the black skull mask Chryssa wears and the bladed mace she wields.

Just to drive it home you speak, your voice warbling unnaturally. “You've seen too much.”

Well, this was pretty fun!

Of course, let's make sure to mention that we were just fucking around with illusions later on so that we don't end up having him convince all the servants that we've been corrupted by the void or some shit.

I would say nobody would believe him, but honestly I don't see us NOT doing sketchy shit.

Ending the thread on a spoopy note?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you enjoy writing out the spooky choices?
