Just checked, the M36B1 is literally an M4A3 with a 90mm turret plopped on top and the stowage rearranged. The turret was a bit unbalanced, but it worked just fine. Turret traverse was obviously slower, but considering the M4's fast turret traverse, wasn't much of an issue.

You and Tarin quickly make your exit just as you hear the sound of flesh and metal being sheared apart by a giant steel saw.

The two of you head over to the motor pool, where you can see both the Tilean Wolverines and Breton "steeds" lined up next to each other. Of course, if there was one faction of the military that would get along well, it would be the mechanics and engineers. You could see teams from both sides examining each others' machines with much enthusiasm. Hopefully this kind of "friendly exchange" would yield some good results for both sides.

And then your good mood is ruined when you see Clementine. She had taken a serious beating during the battle against Hess, with her cannon having been completely destroyed and her armor in tatters from the punishment she endured. When the maintenance crews first saw her, they were about to write her off as a loss until a poisonous glare from Tarin changed their minds.

"So what's the verdict?" You ask the chief mechanic.

"She's a right mess." The chief mechanic grumbles, wiping excess engine grease from his gloves. "Still in one piece, miraculously enough, but her armor is slagged and the cannon is a complete loss. She's going to need a complete overhaul."

"Damn, how long would that take?" You frown.

No, fuck you. Tigers were designed as breakthrough tanks, to have the armor to take any hits that they might take, and the gun to be able to kill anything it would face.

The Sherman was designed as a medium tank, to have the speed and reliability to make it ideal for operational maneuverability. It had enough armor to take on anything it faced when it was introduced, and a gun that could kill anything as such.

You spend the next fifteen minutes or so just wandering through the forest, though the sounds emanating from the camp always remind you that it's not too far. However, even just have a few trees between you and the camp feels like you're isolated in the middle of nowhere.

Suddenly, Tarin grabs you and pulls you around a tree, pinning your back to the trunk. Her face is so close, you can smell her breath, feel the heat emanating from her face...

"We're being followed." Tarin whispers.

Sawyer pauses and looks over to Artois, who gives a trusting nod. Sawyer then turns to the rest of the assembled officers.

"You all have your assignments. Dismissed." Sawyer grunts, and the officers stand up and silently file out of the tent, none of them voicing a word of protest.

"All right, soldier, what's so important that we had to postpone an important strategy meeting?" Sawyer growls as Artois steps to his side.

"Sir, with all due respect, we just narrowly avoided a possible assassination attempt." You explain.

Sawyer's eyes widen just a bit, while Artois slams his hand down on the table.

"Who would be so crass as to commit such a dishonorable act?!" He barks in outrage.

"Impossible!" Artois recoils.

"That's a serious accusation." Sawyer narrows his eyes. "And one that could put this whole alliance at risk. Are you sure?"
