>Back again after a bit of a break, 13th thread, probably end of the first year, let's see what you have learned.

It's 26 of May, you open your eyes slowly, all your body feels itchy and tingling. You feel very hungry and have a very bad taste in your mouth. "My wall doesn't look like this" you think for a second and then realize you are in the Hospital Wing. Then the events and the memories comes to you. You remember diving to the ground and then darkness. You must have been hurt badly and taken to the infirmary. The Cup is lost also. You feel dread.

You look around, it's dark, it smells like candles, pale blue rays of silvery light enters the room through the old glass windows, it is fullmoon.

The surroundings of your bed is full of boxes, letters and flowers. A flower and a letter attached to it from your parents, a box of chocolate from your aunt, a small card that has a smiling Quidditch player on it reads as "Get well soon!" signed by your cousin, another box of candies from your Ravenclaw classmates and some notes written by Glenn and Arya that has dates on them, seems they were here everyday to visit you and left you some pieces of gossip of the day.

The room is empty and there are no other students. The Madam Pomfrey is also not here. You were unconscious for more than a week you realize, as you keep reading the notes left by your dearest friends. Your wand is next to you standing on a small table. You take it and get up. You eat some candies and chocolates to get rid off the digusting taste in your mouth and drink some water. You feel very awake and focus after sleeping for such a long time. You are dressed in your free clothes and your Quidditch clothes are left on a chair nearby. Your broomstick is also there.

You turn your head to see who is it and it's a ghost. "It seems I arrived just in time, John."

He wears a simple crown on his head and wears a cape. You remember seeing him somewhere before.

"I am afraid we have not met before. But I have some urgent news to deliver to you. I hope you enjoyed your new room as much as your mother did. But no matter now... You must know that your actions affect so many others than yourself. You will come to realize what little choice you have. You will do what you must, become what you must, or others will pay for your cowardice...tonight."

He continues to speak without pausing to give you an explanation or a chance to answer. As he moves around passing through the objects his tattered cape waves behind him.

"I have been keeping an eye on you and your friends. Hogwarts is a dangerous place after all. Yet it falls on you tonight to help your friend and yourself...and also to everyone in the school. The monster you seek is out there. It has taken your friend and it will feed itself with her. Your friend Anya has been taken."

Your eyes grow with shock and fear.

"You must help her. You have very small time. Tick, tock, tick tock." He shakes his finger and makes an eerie ticking sound. "The closest professors are already out of our reach right now, deep in the dungeons trying to figure out something about that nasty thief Goblin. Your other friends asleep. Only way is to go now. Fly to the shores of the lake and find the small cavern that lies near the rocks at the borders of the Forest."

It's lair is at this cavern near the shore between the two boulders. You need to fly towards the Forest from here and you will see it. I will try to get some help to you but... if you wait I am afraid it will be too late for your friend."

You fly over the Lake, the full moon shines on the still water, creating a beautiful reflection of the Hogwarts Castle. Yet you do not have the time or the mind set to appreciate the nature right now.

You reach the shores of the lake near the Forbidden Forest and see two boulders just as the Ghost described. You land near the rocks and there you see a small cave entrance. It is around two meters in length and a meter in width opening. A wolf howls somewhere in the distance and then you realize how quiet everything is.

You draw your wand, your hands shake a little.

You can see the path inside the cavern divides into two. One ascending and one descending. You can hear water dipping sound coming from the path that goes down and a little shiver of light reflects from the path that goes up.

You enter the cavern, it is dark but the full moon's light makes it possible to see around. You take the path that goes down. You walk for a few minutes and then you come to a very small creek inside the cavern. You continue walking down as the water flows parallel to you, descending.

There are some strange pale blue lights coming from the water, as you inspect closely you see they are some kind of mushroom that are luminous.

As you walk a bit more you reach a small opening in the cavern. The water becomes still here and makes a small shallow pool that reflects the blue light on the low cavern ceiling. You duck walking under a stalactite.

There you see it. Arya. She is bound and gagged on the cavern wall. She is tied with ropes and vines. She seems very pale and bloody.

The ghost floats around slowly, "Just outside... sorry I couldn't resist to check inside." Professor seems a bit annoyed with that answer. "Go back to check her, it is a delicate spell!"

You take the wand and cast one spell that comes to your mind without thinking too much, everything happens in seconds. You get out behind the rocks, and cast "Periculum!" just as you say the word the rocks that you were standing behind a second ago gets destroyed with a loud sound as the Professor's spell hit them. Your left ear starts ringing a lot and you feel something very warm there suddenly.

As you cast the spell unexpected yellow colored sparks fly from the wand instead of the usual color. A very bright yellow flare shoots from the wand directly to the Professor. You can't see exactly what is she doing because the brightness also half blinds you, you see funny blue and black circles and dots everywhere you look. She might have been in a similar situation or not.

"You dare to attack me with this, here? Your pathetic magics are useless. Let this end!" Phyillia shouts. The yellow light starts to gets dim. You can see that she is about to cast a spell on you. Then suddenly something very strange happens.

Alba's wand flies away from her hand into the water.

You see Anya, on the floor, armed with your wand, has disarmed the Professor.

You can also now see the ghost and Alba entering the cavern and walking towards the opening you are in.

Phyillia looks different now. Her eyes glow with a eerie red. You can clearly see her teeth growing. Her skin gets more pale. Her voice is different, "Must I be interrupted at every turn?! Enough of this!" She starts to change more. Her ears starts to grow. "I do not need a wand to kill both of you!"

You can tell this is not going well. You aim your wand at her. "Verdimillious!" Green energy sparkling shoots from the wand towards the Professor, whose face now looks like a giant bat. She is hit right in the chest. She falls down and hits the cavern wall.

You run, grab Anya, she can barely stand, she tries very hard to walk. You help her to move and both of you move towards the exit. The Professor slowly starts to rise.

She tries to rise, as she is looking like half witch and half bat now. Then you see something.

All this time she must have been in Alba's robe's pocket, waiting quietly, afraid. Alba took her to visit you but then she was taken by the Professor. When you cast your last spell she must have heard your voice.

From the pocket, Cordelia gets out, flying towards you. Just as the Professor rising and getting on her feet to attack you, Cordelia flies, buzzing next to her and drops something on Professor's head, it's garlic. Cordy must have gotten herself more after you took the one she had and throw it to the garbage. Then you remember how she spent many hours in the herbology garden, she must have taken the scent of the half-vampire.

Professor suddenly startled, repelled takes some side steps, tripping mid-shapeshift and loses her balance. You now have a clear path to exit, grabbing Anya on your one arm, grabbing Alba on the way on your other arm, run for your life.

You leave the cavern as the ghost also disappears. The full moon illuminates the path but there is no way for you to carry three of you with the broomstick back. You walk a bit more along the shore, cast the flare spell. After that you try to hide between the trees. Alba seems to be coming to herself slowly.

But the Bat is still after you hunting. You hear her approach and hisses. Then you hear someone cast a spell and a bright green light. Then something hitting the ground.

"Now let's see if you were really one of Igor's lackeys or what..." you hear a familiar gloomy voice. It's Professor Snape.

He finds you and you can see he has taken care of Phyillia. After a short while other help also arrive. Madam Pomfrey and professors help you back to the castle. You realize after the adrenaline wears off you can't hear from your left ear and the left half of your face is full of dried blood.

Three of you are finally back in the hospital wing, taken care off, dawn is imminent. The Headmaster Dumbledore enters the room to speak to you three in private.

He speaks gently and soft. You can see he has compassion and surprise in his eyes. He apologizes first for choosing a teacher with some "unusual characteristics" he says unknowingly. He thanks you for your bravery and praises you for saving your friends and catching the person who was attacking all those students. He tells you that now they know everything concerning the Professor. It was her who stole those herbs to make herself an accent changing potion. And that she was from Belgrade. She was half vampire and that she was trying to put her urges under control for whatever reason and that she had the ability to shapeshift. Dumbledore confesses he wasn't very good at selecting the professor since nobody applies for this job. Says she will be sent to Azkaban. When you tell him about the Lord Gamp and all the things they spoke with each other he says that he doesn't know this ghost. Then he announces he will reward your actions and gives 100 points to Ravenclaw. He then gives 25 points to Ravenclaw for Anya's "brave last stand and will to survive" and then 25 points to Gryffindor for Alba's "loyalty to her friendship"

Anya and Alba both thank you deeply for saving their lives. You can see your friendship has grown very strong after this events. Glenn also seems very proud to be your friend. Tim, Bryan, Juliette, Alice and Valdis and all the rest of your Ravenclaws are very happy that you are all alive and safe too.
