Enemies with ties to an Ancient Earth Civilization known as Elysion have been attacking Tokyo creating monsters made from cosmic darkness and fostered and harvested Negative Emotions. These creatures they make are either shadow shrugged free of their initial hosts, the hosts possessed, or parasites that extract themselves from their hosts once enough negative emotions have been harvested. The identity of the monster directing thralled spider puppets in your school remains a mystery.

It may also be worth mentioning that your father is the reincarnated Prince of Elysion and your mother is the reincarnation of the Princess of a contemporary civilization that spanned the Solar System called Silver Millennium with Its seat of power on the Moon. Both were destroyed by a cosmic horror possessing a jealous woman who love the prince in an unrequited manner.

That destroyer's reincarnation twice over is your friend Keiko, who your enemies are targeting with this spider monster who as a person had been obsessed with her. Now that monster seems primed to go full Yandere on her ass.

More to the point, since you were a social pariah until a short while ago this monster and all within his or her control are aggrieved at your friendship with Keiko. To press the issue you and your allies have been extra publicly friendly to try and force their hand.

While poking around the campus during homeroom, you found the auditorium becoming a webbed nest of horrors probably meant for the end of the day during after school club time.


"Class Representative, you are in charge until I get back," the nurse explains as she steps out the door.

"Of course, Sensei," a tall boy with short black hair and glasses, your class representative and friend Yoshi Sakurada, rises and bows to the nurse as she leaves.

This mass collapse, could it be related to the spiders somehow? If it is it might be a trap, a ploy, or a weakness. It might be worth it to investigate.

Alright, writing.

~Akagi Sensei!~ you call out and raise your hand, causing her to stop at the door, ~Can I help? Half a class is a lot of people to check on while we wait on emergency services, my mother is a doctor and I know my way around an emergency,~

The woman pauses mid step, at first surprised that you’d spoken out like that and then in thought, before nodding.

“Come along Chiba-san,” the school nurse replies and you follow her and the other girl into the hall.

It doesn’t take long to get to the music room, where a number of students are carefully trying to help the and check the assorted collapsed. Many are on their phones and talking to one another. What you notice immediately about the members of the class who are still standing is that they don’t immediately zero in on you.

Helping the school nurse triage the collapsed and still passed out students, you manage to ask after what happened. Apparently they were playing through a wind quintet set, as you can tell from the scattered oboe and other instruments and everyone who collapsed convulsed when they played a High C.

There are at least fifteen collapsed students, and while you check them for signs of concussions, you steal a chance at looking into one of their mouths. What you catch in that brief glance is a clustered and torn nest of webbing at the back of their throat. Checking a few others yields the same thing.

So was the nurse, and it greatly perplexed her. Apparently out of concern that some of them had swallowed or bitten their tongues.

Either way, Emergency Services does arrive in a timely manner and assists in getting the collapsed students moved to the ambulances for ER transport. A few even came to, but confused and unsure of what happened. From the sound of things some of them had lost days.

Amid the presence and movement of people, you catch sight of a few spiders slipping around the corners of open doors or into air vents. So, these little bastards don’t like high notes.

“Thank you for the help, Chiba-san,” the nurse sighs after the last collapsed student is seen off campus.

Principal Sakurada showed up at some point, and began to engage the nurse about what happened. At the moment you are otherwise unnoticed.

Since it seems you aren’t needed or noticed anymore, you take your leave of the situation and head back to class. The halls are mostly quiet, and you head back into the still open door of your classroom.

“Chiba-san, welcome back,” Yoshi looks up from the podium.

It seems, from the assorted and varied contents other students are quietly reading or working on at their desks, that when left in power the boy instituted a quiet free study. That’s perfectly like him.

A few students in your class, besides your friends, glance up at you in unison before going back to their books.

“Where is Akagi Sensei?” he asks and walks halfway to the door as you step in and close it behind you, “Is everything okay? I saw the ambulances,”

~Everyone who collapsed is being brought to the hospital,~ you explain with a sigh, ~They’ll all be alright, and Akagi Sensei is talking to your mother,~

He nods as you head back to your desk. Smoothing out your skirt before sitting down, you notice Midori looking over at you, widening her eyes as if asking something. Establishing the psychic connection as you pull out some class texts and share what you’ve learned with her, Keiko, Kairi, and Gai.

-Well, arachnids and similar creatures don’t particularly like high pitched sounds,- the alien boy reasons at your findings.

-Speaking from experience?- Midori thinks back curiously, -Crazy space adventures with giant bugs or something?-

-Renting, actually,- he responds, -Minor frequency oscillation sonic devices to deter creatures are far preferable to my sensibilities over poisons,-

After retrieving your packed lunch from Kairi, you sit by yourself and again engage in a continued psychic conference among your friends. Most of the classroom empties out, a few of the students who remain wonder where everyone is going, apparently it started raining outside while you were on the way back from the music room, as no one should really be doing anything on the roof.

Reestablishing the psychic link, you direct your friends to keep their eyes out. It becomes obvious that most of the people who stayed in the classroom are not possessed, but at least one of the students who had been acting weird remains. Probably as a sentry or observer.

-So, we should figure out what to do during free period,- Midori posits.

-You and Keiko should stick together, we don’t want to arouse suspicion- you muse while adoring the little octopus cut sausages your father made, -What do the two of you usually do for free period?-

-Well, go around and gab with everyone,- Keiko smiles before becoming sad, -Though most of our usual group is compromised. I was thinking of approaching the president of my fan club and seeing what she has to say. Its likely she’s become one of them already, but I want to confirm,-

Stepping through the halls, the connection cuts as you walk out of range. The school building is empty as you trail behind Yoshi. Jogging to catch up after he turns a hall corner, you make it just in time to see him go into one of the stair wells. While there are classrooms on the next floor up, this stairwell is near the back of the school, most of the club rooms and student government rooms would be in the corner of this floor. The next floor down, well that would be close to the teacher’s office and the administrative offices.

The classrooms you’ve passed are unusually sparse, the few people there talking and eating lunch. Some rooms have as few as only two people in them. That cannot be good, the enemy must have likely been busy recruiting more students to their cause.

You come to a pause as you realize you haven’t seen any teachers walking around during lunch time like they sometimes do to make sure no one is getting up to anything crazy. Something might have happened there already.

You attempt to keep your movements hidden, both by hugging the wall and through your supernatural ability to appear as no one of any significance. It helps you in the task, and if anyone spots you you’ll have just been no one of any consequence.

By the time you reach the stairwell, the dead knight tells you that Yoshi has gone upstairs. Curious.

Striding up quickly, you see him approaching the student council room. Sneaking closer you begin activating and refreshing your power of invisibility. The door slides open to reveal his friend and bandmate, Daigo Endo. The exceptionally large and noticeably tall young man is disheveled, his hair, face, and shoulders covered with sundered and excessive threads of the webbing you saw in the auditorium.

“What’s wrong, Endo-kun?” Yoshi asks his friend in an even but suspicious tone.

“It’s bad, I don’t know, I need your help!” he loudly whisper hisses, on the verge of panic.

His worry is palpable as he sticks his head out of the student council room and looks up and down the hallway while ushering Yoshi in. As the door begins to slide closed, you hear Yoshi react to something with the faintest tinge of surprise and accusation in his voice.

Well the thing that jumped out to me, that no one's commented on, was that Kairi has some kind of psychic/magical/something little brother that PIT is using that she doesn't know about? I still don't know what to think about that.

You’re quick and quiet, and invisible, so you easily slide into the room while the door is being closed. Its too your benefit that both boys seem keenly distracted.

“It isn’t what it looks like, I swear. She asked me to help with something in the Council Room and the next thing I know she is trying to claw my face off-,” the large man explains as you see Yoshi shifting between a clenched and relaxed fist and staring intently at one of the corners of the room on the same side as the door..

A few posters and decorations in the corner above them are disheveled, as though something was knocked against it. It's extremely odd until your eyes trail down and see an unconscious person propped up on the ground, the shoulder on the blouse of her skirted school uniform torn as ragged threads of webbing and white drool spill from her hanging open mouth.

She is perfectly miniature with blonde hair, a bedazzled badge clipped to the waist of her skirt.

Student Council President Nui Takeda; or as you know her in your ganguro fashion circle, Tiny Teal.

Yoshi is angry, you aren't sure he is even listening to his friend anymore.

You understand what happened here and won’t jump to conclusions. Allowing the regalia of Eclipse to take you, you begin striding forward and blink back into invisibility before you pass through the two boys’ lines of sight.

As you approach Nui with the intent of taking her vitals, you notice that Yoshi reaches her before you. He’s crouching and checking her pulse while putting himself squarely between the unconscious girl and his friend.

“I held her back and she kept flailing at me, then she jumped up and started crawling on my arms and spitting this stuff at me and I panicked!” the larger boy explains hurriedly and visibly upset, “Please, you have to believe me. I didn’t mean to hurt her,”

She’s still breathing, and she doesn’t appear injured, just knocked out. Yoshi reaches the same conclusion, the last act of his checkup is pulling at the slicked and sticky silken threads hanging from the unconscious girl’s mouth.

Her head twitches at that and with a chittering hiss a bleak black eight legged creature unfolds from between her lips and crawls up and across her face in a fluid skittering before launching itself at Yoshi.

Lightning quick, your hand lances out and snatches the thing from the back inches from his face. Though he isn’t taken in shock by this thing, he is visibly disgusted and confused as he stumbles back into a guarded position with his arms crossed. Daigo Endo likewise offers a quiet shriek despite his size and the usual depth of his voice.

Laying a hand on the unconscious girl you channel your most basic healing magics into her, restoring her to health enough to wake and soothing the bump that had otherwise started forming on the back of her head. The ambient light of your basic healing magic seems to also cause the black spider to shiver and crumble.

Luckily you still gleamed a bit off of the creature through the telemetric ability of your dark knowledge. They aren’t true creatures in their own right, just fractures that are the result of a unique power. This apparently makes them extremely fragile without a host, such that just being in contact with you while using the most basic of curative magics you have can cause them harm.

Nui groans awake and looks about groggy and confused. All three human attentions of the room settle on you.

“Thank you so much for hosting this party, Kanari-chan!” the bubbly blonde girl clad in an oversized white rabbit kigurumi repeatedly leapt for joy in a circle around her moving bestest friend forever.

The Jupiter Cafe’s dining room was closed, but done up with decorations of bats, witches, and pumpkins. Koyomi Chiba tittered excitedly as she managed to continually be standing exactly where her friend, Kanari Kino, needed to go to finish setting up. This young woman, clad at a black hatted witch with a long and ragged cut bottom dress, is carrying a plastic cauldron of punch with some degree of care contrasted by her friend’s frenetic energy.

“It was no problem,” she replies and sets the cauldron down before taking a stir with the clear ladle, “Gotta say your costume game is a bit lazy this year, Koyomi-chan,”

“Fufufu, that’s because this costume has a super awesome secret,” the usually pig tailed girl grins with a certain mischief and leans into whisper something conspiratorial to her friend.

Whatever it is takes some time to explain as the witch to whom she shares this secret goes rigid and then progressively redder in the face as her expression shifts into first mild and then extreme embarrassment.

“KOYOMI!” she all but shouts, having heard enough, “Why are you even trying to pull something like that?”

The fluffy and cute bunny clad girl crosses her paw sleeved arms.

“Because your brother isn’t exactly one to take the initiative, now is he?”

“J-just...go easy on him. I don’t want you giving him a heart attack,” Kanari is left to sigh as she pulls the conical hat down over her face.

As their conversation draws to a close the rest of their guest for the evening arrive. First is the young and vivacious Venus Aino clad in a baggy black onesie with extra arms hanging on her either side, declaring herself Charlotte for the night. Rin Kumada and Aiha Mizuno arrive together, and both with a certain sense of horrific humor to their outfits. Actually dressed Scarily, Rin wears what may have nice been a nice formal dress, while she and it are drenched in fake blood. Aiha in turn is clad in a long shaggy black wig and torn white clothes, slipping off her sandals at entry into the party proper.

Before long, Kanari’s father brings out some snacks from the kitchen, before calling up the stairs for his other child to come help with the deliveries.

“Deliveries? I thought the cafe was closed?” the bunny asks.

“Ah, we are, but dad didn’t want to be entirely idle so he kept the delivery open,”

“So...Koito won’t be at the party after all?” sniffles the bunny.

“Afraid not,” her friend consoles.

“But I borrowed clothes from Nee-chan so I could make my move,” the bunny pouts, “I had a secret theme. Beach Bunny would have been an amazing surprise!”

“Wait, you borrowed clothes from your big sis?”

“Yeah, just a bathing suit top and some short shorts,” she explains, “Under the kigurumi. They’re a bit too loose, I went through all this discomfort for nothing,”

“She hoards old stuff, didn’t she offer you anything that fit you better?”

“Well, I didn’t exactly ask,” the bunny laughs nervously before her ears twitch at a distant sound, “Uh oh, Kanari I need you to hide me!”

The witch, wise to the direction so taken, sighs in defeat. The door to the cafe opens and Venus cheers at the unexpected arrival of a friend.

“Yay! PB-chan came afterall!”

And she came in costume. Black hair, white skin, torn clothes, and angry red eyes.

She stalks through the party, as the bunny hides behind the witch. Eyes of fire stare down at the cowering hooded fluff. Blue eyes are near to weeping against the red, just over the witch’s shoulder with trembling plea.

The fire relents.

~Next time, ask!~ she bites with her words before pouring herself a cup of punch from the cauldron.

"You know what," Kanari reasons a moment after the Red Eyed Beast stalks away, "I take it back, I don't want you putting those kind of moves on my bro for the sake of his heart,"

"Eh?" queries the bunny.

"I don't want your sister misreading the situation and murdering him because you put the moves on him,"
