Last time, on Feral Necromancer Quest: You gave the kobolds shelter in the tunnels under your hold. Being as they are subservient creatures just saved from a thousand years of slavery you thought it might be best to allow them to serve you directly than to leave them to fend for themselves. You spoke to Necorax, the dragon necromancer bound to your helm, and learned more about dragons, immortality and the world before the fall. Soon thereafter you were interrupted by Spot, your Gnoll ally who had fled to your lands with his entire pack at his heel. He claimed that a large human force was advancing towards you and your allies and after quickly confirming the threat you began preparations for defense. You sent the elves out to parlay with your allies, and both the elves and dwarves came to your hold to join forces. You devised a combat strategy focused on magic and guerrilla warfare, and made your best effort to break the will of your attackers through magic and stealthy assassinations. At dawn their forces arrived. Wet, miserable and somewhat afraid, they nonetheless were all armed with metal weapons and led by a man in steel plate with a great sword. They are attacking you in the name of Pern, the god of Sun and enemy of all necromancers.

The Cast

Vlad Tepish: You, a necromancer and shaman of great skill on a quest for immortality. Your constant and insistent attempts at diplomacy with the neighboring tribes has made you a well-respected force in the area.

Bathory: Your lover and companion, brought back to life into an alchemical body. She is pregnant with your child. A skilled diplomat in her own right she brings stability and counsel to your company.

Lathrien: Your apprentice and the first vampire, he is getting better at controlling his new powers, which are substantial. The first to gain immortality among your party, he is stronger, faster and more charming than ever before.

(cont.)
>>
Melandie: A huntress, a berserker, an elf. She is quick to anger and her rage is terrible, but she has learned to control her emotions better recently. The runeblade she wields still impacts her emotions, but it is unlikely to break her mind or kill her any longer.

Korg: Your orcish blackguard, he is bound to your will. He wields a great hammer and cares for few things more than to use it in battle. A creature of simple pleasures and sins he is a destructive force on the battlefield and a cunning creature in planning.

Halivean: Known to you as Hal, he is your desert elf blackguard. Fanatically loyal to you and with some basic skill in necromancy and tactics he is a vital lieutenant to your forces. His agility is exceptional and his skill with a blade and bow is significant, but where he shines is leading undead into battle.

Karist: Dwarven runesmith and elder.

Spot: Gnoll rogue and boss.

Vlad the Kobold: Kobold leader.

Amythrien: Elven craftsman and elder.

Sheila: Human elder from your village.

You have been prepared for this for a long time now. This is not a sneak attack, like the one by the drow, which lead to the death of the previous elven elder. This is not a spiritual attack, like the one by the spider-queen that caught you by surprise. This is an attack of men in their hundreds. There is a full thousand of them at least and they intend to break you with sheer numbers and brutality.

You have sent ahead for your allies, and the were-bears and golems have not arrived yet. They might be coming. Your mages are ready and well rested, as you managed to force the humans to break camp for the night with your magic. Your scouts and assassins are exhausted from last night's raids, they have clearly done good work. There is still religious zeal in the eyes of the warriors, but not as much of the absolute conviction you saw when you scouted them last yourself.

You see their leader clearly. He is a giant of a man clad from head to toe in heavy plate. But a few years ago simply seeing so much metal would have filled you with awe, but now you only fear the protection and technological advancement it represents.

There also seem to be a few of the Sun God's priests among the ranks of the human forces. They chant their prayers, ancient and stripped of their old meanings, now they are as drums of war for the forces gathered around your hold.

>Barricade yourself and the living forces inside the hold. Stall them with your undead and wait for reinforcements or an opening.
>Try to magically sucker-punch the leader before he joins battle. You might be able to hurt them severely, but all rules of honourable combat would likely go out the window at that point.
>Ride out with your undead troops into open battle. You had planned for a more cautious strategy, but it will pay to surprise them on the first day of the siege.
>Ride out alone and talk to the armored figure.

Try to diplomacer them. If not Pern, then his army. Give them one last offer to turn back, and leave these people alone, before the cleansing begins.

Also let's try and determine if Pern just posessed some poor bolke's body, because if so, then he is way more rotten than us.

Did we make treants yet? Those seem like the best thing to make before doing any engaging. The other undead we can raise on the battlefield, but these need preparations.

I’d suggest riding out with the maximum of treants we can gather. If need be, we can send those on a suicide attack while we retreat and re-raise our army.
>>
If we ride out with our undead, then use Illusions to make them look twice as numerous!
>>
>>43280275
No, those take time. and i think the take up controll slots we don't have yet. It's unadvisable to use them now.
We should do it later during the siege. Sneak out in some animal form, then summon up some treansts, and get them from behind
>>
>>43280059
>>Barricade yourself and the living forces inside the hold. Stall them with your undead and wait for reinforcements or an opening.

Go in to a trance and focus on whittling down their numbers. We have Desecrate Land on right? And raising as soon as we lose.

Let's raise some treants!
>>
>>43280275
>>43280328
id like to see this, except I think it would be better to have the treants just act like normal trees until they're behind the enemy army and then we can crush them in between dead and treants

>You control 120/180 minions.
I thought we filled up our minions? If not I change the plan to making as many trents as possible. Especially as we lose members, till we have 5 active and send them out to wreck shit on the enemy.
>>
>>43280373
This is genious. We could even act as bait.
it would be perfect if the golems and the bears would arrive at the same time, and we could get the disarrayed army from three sides, AND with suprise.
>>
>>43280328
They should be made now for exactly the reasons you have listed: They take time and slots. This is the only time we can actually use to summon them because the enemy is going to sleep. Also, our undead army is currently in a safe position, so we can easily put the to a temporary rest again and take the up again later.

We cannot do this later because it will take half an hour to raise them, which we likely cannot do without being spotted and attacked later.
>>
>>43279702
If we have infused a tree with our power once, but don’t make them a treant yet, or let go of them again, could we retake them later without needing a full minute?
>>
>>43280415
I was under the impression that they just arrived, and not asleep at all.
All I am saying that we should do the summonings out of sight, where we aren't vulnerable to Pern.

I think our biggest issue here that we have no idea what Pern is capable of.
>>
>>Ride out with your undead troops into open battle. You had planned for a more cautious strategy, but it will pay to surprise them on the first day of the siege.
on the note of the undead troops, can we start imbuing them with elements before we ride out or would that take too much time?
it would be great if we could imbue them with something showy for that psychological edge
>>

21! Extra Successful!

The day starts with a stalemate. The human forces do not want to charge. They are hoping for a lengthy, comfortable siege. They are hoping to starve you out, and even seeing you relatively unprotected and out in the open they do not get orders to advance. You stand up and look at them and for a long moment nobody seems to know what to do. Men rarely wish to kill other men, even if they believe their cause is just.

So you use that to your advantage. While the forces of Pern are standing in formation, waiting for you to act first, or preferably not at all you channel your magic. You cast out a massive concentration of necromantic energy, focusing on some trees behind them.

'He is casting. The warlock is casting!' the steel-clad man shouts. But he delayed long enough that your spell is done. They do not need to know that, of course.

The human horde charges. And the rumble of their footsteps sounds like thunder and you feel the earth shiver under their feet. You mount up and ride out. Your dead are expendable, so you form them up all around you. You charge among a hundred giant spiders and fifty assorted zombies and skeletons atop them. Yours is a much smaller force than the one you are charging, but a much more mobile one.

You make sure to not actually break their charge, or their lines, instead riding up to their flank and inflicting casualties, again and again.

Finally, they seem to have surrounded you, when screams of terror come from their rear-guard. Your treants have awoken and they seem unstoppable, crushing men with their huge trunk-like arms and stepping on them with their rooted feet. There is only six of them, and it took you as much energy to empower six treants as it would have to raise a forest-full of beasts, but no amount of beasts would inspire such terror as the six great treants do in their rear.

Using the terror to your advantage you break through their lines, and reach your treants.
(cont)
>>
>>43280832
You are behind enemy lines. What undead you lost, you brought back either from the fallen humans or from the bodies of your fallen that were not completely destroyed. You lost a few spiders, and cannot replace them, but you certainly have done significant damage on your first sortie, killing dozens of men outright.

Your hold was surrounded, and not wanting to see how you'd measure up against the Palading of Pern on your first sortie you charged a section of their forces far away from their leader. That said, some time has passed, and you are sure he is approaching you. Uncertain of what powers the Sun God might have bestowed upon him or his followers, you do not know how wise it would be to stay here any longer. On the other hand, the human forces are in a disarray and you have only started the slaughter.

>Pern is the enemy of all undead, and surely it knows how to best fight them. You have been lucky so far not to get hard-countered. Retreat back to your hold in the confusion.
>If so, leave your treants behind to wreak havoc until they are destroyed Y/N

>This opportunity is too great to pass up. You might win the battle before it has truly begun. Slaughter the terrified humans.

>You are behind the lines and they want you more than they want any of your allies. Flee into the forest and hope they follow you. It will be easier to deal with them from hiding.

>Press your advantage and your luck. Call all of the reinforcements available to you and try to win the battle right here and right now.

24! Great Success!

You've done what you came here to do. You have two of your treants simply go to town to cover your retreat and have the remaining four get out of sight and act as tree-like as possible to be used as reserve when they are most needed.

You make fighting retreat and injure or kill people with wild swings of your sword. You have used it a lot, but you never really got the hang of it any more than chopping them with the choppy bit. From your mounted position that is all that is needed.

You feel a slight mental pull. Then you hear

'WOOOOOOO!'

From behind you and you turn. Korg, your orcish blackguard has grabbed onto the 'hand' of one of the treants that you left behind. As the treant swings the hand, seemingly unaware of the additional weight of the large orc, Korg uses the extra reach and momentum to... an efficient degree. That is to say, anything he hits with his head-sized warhammer will not be fit to be raised as undead.

You stare in morbid fascination for a few seconds (and a few kills) before you force the bound blackguard to come to you. You actually have to force him to obey magically. You consider leaving him behind for a moment, but he is too valuable to simply discard.

The spectacle behind you is more than sufficient diversion for you and your minions to return to your hold.

To little surprise you find that the humans do not do anything to follow you. They simply stand there, or at least their front-lines do. You are certain that behind them there is some sort of a rest rotation being set up right now.

You enter your hold.

>Magic. Now. Wipe out as many of them as you can.
>Talk to one or more of your allies (whom?)
>Most of the enemy force has not seen you without your armour and distinctive helmet. Dress up as one of them and try to infiltrate their forces. This whole assault has been very strange.

Nat 20! Critical Success! Unfortunately as this roll was not linked to a skill you do not advance any skill with this roll. However your success is the best possible success as follows:

Still stiff from all the last night's casting you do still know that the battle will be won by magic. You sit back down into your ritual meditative position and start casting. Immediately you feel a pressure that was not there before. Your first thought is that Pern himself is defending his faithful from the spirit realm, but you soon realize that the spiritual presence is merely similar to that of the God of Sun. Perhaps a working done by it, but not itself.

You move into the Astral Realm with alarming alacrity and suckerpunch the impressive spirit-light construct by generating vast amounts of darkness. It is not at your mercy, but you have gotten the first hit in.

You realize that it is very similar to your Tarantula-Hawk spirit, if perhaps somewhat more impressive. Now that you've hurt it, your own spiritual construct should be able to distract it enough that you can cast your magics without interruption.

>You do not want it distracted- you want it dead. Try to destroy the construct.

I like this could we hold down this spirit and have our Tarantula-Hawk spirit feast on its energy? Some how.
>>
This is the sort of a fight you are well-versed in. And besides, using the construct to counter magic has given you an idea as to how to use the giant wasp in a more effective manner. You will fight this spirit yourself.

And you soon realize that it was relying entirely on being unnoticed. It shrugs off all of your magical attacks, but when you move your spiritual body it is slow to react and can hardly take a punch. In retrospect, either the first attack damaged it much more severely than you thought, or the entire purpose of the construct was to drink magic. Perhaps it would have come back to bite you in the ass if you hadn't dealt with it early. Perhaps you just got real damn lucky.

All in all it takes you less than ten minutes real-time to deal with the spirit, although you have to go through the typical rigmarole of a spirit battle- it transforms into a snake, you into a badger and so on, until you destroy it completely.

Your had not really considered using spirits as counters to magic. You are sure you could do quite a few interesting things with the help of your terrifying and definitely not even a little bit adorable hell-wasp.

You reach out to your elven allies and the gnoll pyromancer. She might be panting or smiling, and is most certainly deep in conversation with the spirit bound to the staff you've given to her.

Powerful as they are, none of them are ritualists, so you simply leave them at windows and have them blast anyone that comes near as you cast your own magics.

You focus on becoming one with your land. It is a ritual complex far beyond anything else you have done. Each little spirit of the land you find and bind. And then you awaken.

For the first time in your life you are awed into silence. It is as if you see through a thousand thousand eyes, except not all of the creatures you are controlling right now have eyes as such. You feel the vibrations under the feet of the soldiers through the spirits of the earth. You hear their breath through the spirits of the air. You see their reflections on the spirits of rain and water.

And other, darker things. Spirits you did not know to be here. Spirits, you realize, you have unwittingly created by changing the land so much and using so much of your magic. Spirits of the dead, bound to your land. These are not the remnants of the desecration spell, rather they are a by-product of all of the necromancy you've been doing. Simple folk might call them ghosts, and you realize that there is no better name for such spirits, and you decide to stick with the name.

Derp, meant to say DC 15. Irrelevant, since

28! Terrifying success!

The first crash of the elemental forces makes such an explosion of force that no one, not even you quite realizes what just happened. The wails of the dead, the crash of thunder and lightning and the eruptions of stone, gas and fire from beneath the earth combine into a terrifying crashing wail of sound.

Such is the fury of the elements that you have to focus hard not to destroy your own hold and the human village not far from your lands.

Then the sound does not stop, and neither does the destruction.

>You are effectively deafened for the duration of the spell. Probably so is everyone else within a two mile radius.

An elven mage shouts something at you, but you are too deeply connected to the spirits to even notice their shouts.

You feel ground swallow ten, twenty, fifty men. You feel the hearts of men stop from sheer terror. Lightning strikes the metal weapons of many a warrior. And not a one of them seems to know what to do.

And you see, reflected in rain, the unit around the paladin start charging at you even through the insane destruction. There is no way any of them can hear any orders- hell, it is likely that they are permanently deafened. So their leader charges, and some hundred men follow him without hesitation. Ground collapses under their feet and some fall through it and still they keep coming.

Inspired by sheer terror and the charge of their leader the rest of the forces advance on your position. They know their lives are forfeit if they do not kill you and soon.

All in all, you have been keeping up the elemental assault for around twenty seconds. Two hundred and thirty two of your enemy are dead.

>You have all but broken this land already. Use more conventional warfare from now on.
>You can find a new place to live. You cannot risk any of your living allies dying. Break the land to kill them all.

Small margin of raise dead.

And by complete coincidence this came up on the mix I'm listening to right not https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KmqgRAXygDg Warning: Silliness.

You raise dead. It is what you do, but never has your magic been spread so thinly over so many enemies. A total of more than three hundred and fifty entities are brought back to life with your magic. And you let the human zombies loose as soon as you raise them.

At first it is the slaughter you expected. They are taken completely by surprise. Sure, they knew they were attacking someone capable of raising the dead as an abstract concept, but they were not prepared for their comrades in arms raising up and stabbing them in the back.

More men fall, but as the paladin approaches any undead not directly under your control he screams out a strange battlecry, infused with the same spiritual energy that the construct of light was made of, and the undead turn and flee. You know for a fact that they do not feel enough emotion to know fear, so it must be some sort of a magical effect. Curious.

No army of your comparative size could have inflicted the damage you did with but two spells. Nearly a third of the enemy number are dead, many of the dead running away from the battlefield and those that remain are injured almost to a man.

It is a sorry crowd that is getting closer to your doors, but it is still a sizable one. You estimate some six hundred people are now within evocation range of your hold.

It is not that your magic has no effect. Certainly your plague does not seem to spread quite as explosively as you've come to expect. You fear spells make a good number of the enemy flee. Your other spells and those of the elven and gnoll mages do kill dozens of enemies, but it is just not enough to stop their advance.

You have to admire their determination. Perhaps it is fear for their lives that makes some of them charge, but you see conviction in some of their faces even after the terror you've put them through.

As they get closer you see their faces and realize that you recognize hardly any of them. You lived among the human tribes for more than two and a half decades of your life, you knew most of the faces.

You always knew that the tribes simply did not have enough people to mount such an army as is now attacking you, but the sheer variety of people among them surprises you. People with skins of a similar shade to the desert elves, dour, large men with long beards, and many that look like those of your tribe, but certainly ones you've not seen before.

It might become relevant if you need to talk to them later.

For now, you've failed to stop them from reaching your doors. They are stone and will not break within the next minute or so, but they will get through in time.

You gather your living forces in the largest hall, leaving your undead to hold the door and buy you time. You have seen some strange powers affecting undead and you do not want to rely on them overmuch.

What faces you are roughly two hundred scared faces. Most of them are kobolds, if you only took numbers into account, but all of them are close allies of yours. Some are friends.

'I know I have made it clear that the enemy is nobody to be fucked with. Today I have killed more people than I ever have before in my life, and there are still twice as many left. You've left me to do all of the work before. That is not good enough any more. You have to do your part now. Each and every one of you has to go out there and fight for your life and tribe. I am aware that they are coming for me and not you. Perhaps some of you feel that this is unfair. To those of you that feel that way, I sincerely recommend to grow some balls, get themselves together and deal with it. The enemy will kill you just as dead, regardless of why they are after you.

Basically they're dicks. I am sure most of them do not know what they are fighting for. Today we have a chance we did not have yesterday. I ensured it by casting so much magic that my brain fells completely numb. If you want to show that you are my allies because of worth and not just because I like collecting allies as a curiosity you will go out there and prove it.

Do what must be done. And you will do it now.'

There is a renewed purpose on their faces. Sure, for some of them it is in the form of overt aggression towards you, but nonetheless it is there, and it will be there when they face the enemy. The kobolds seem to be used to this sort of a speech, or otherwise they are finding it irrationally inspiring. They are strange creatures.

You hear stone cracking from the direction of the enemy. They will be through the door within the minute.

Success: Elves, Melandie
Failure: Vlad, Dwarves, Kobolds, Gnolls
Critical Failure: Lathrien

Your undead are the first line of defence. They are holding and they are killing enemies, and you raise them to fight for you. Being the first line of defence against a force much larger than themselves means that they get ground up to a fine dust eventually, though they take a decent number of the enemy with them. It is only when the paladin himself comes through that they fail. He bashes through them easily, indeed much more easily than he should have. It seems his blade has but to touch your minions to destroy them. Your treants are not here yet either.

The elves were set up behind your minions and provided ranged support. They caused most of the actual casualties. None of them falter as they loose arrow after arrow into the oncoming horde. If it were a conventional fight, the enemy would be defeated by this tactic, but there are simply too many of them. Even as another hundred of them falls, they are, at half their strength, more than your match in sheer numbers.

At this point Lathrien walks up behind the leader of the enemy forces. Nobody noticed him. Hell, you did not notice him, and you knew what he was planning to do. As he raises his dagger to stab the man in between the plates of the armour he simply freezes in place. The man turns and runs his greatsword through the chest of Lathrien. Lathrien stands there, bleeding and unable to move from his position, dagger raised.

Melandie lets loose a mad scream of rage and pain and wades into the fray swinging her sword madly. You notice a newfound grace and control in her as she kills everyone between her and the paladin and assaults him in a mad melee duel. He is getting beaten back, takes one serious injury, then another. He should not be standing, blood gushing from the folds of his armour.

Seeing this new breach the dwarves and the gnolls charge in behind Melandie, but without

Yeap, missed it corrected in this post

the madness and rage at her command they cannot keep up the terrifying battlefield presence that she has and soon get bogged down into a brutal battle of attrition. A few people fall on either side, but your living allies cannot afford a battle of attrition at this point, especially considering that the dwarves and gnolls are both smaller tribes.

It looks like it might turn into a disaster, as you are very nearly too tired to either cast many more spells or fight much longer with your sword, when a hundred kobolds appear as if from nowhere at every flank of the enemy. They stab a human each and run away. None of them get hurt and a hundred more human soldiers fall dead on the ground.

24! Success!

You reach for magic, deeper than you ever have before. And you find it in there aplenty. The dwarven mail seems to be doing its job properly and even though you have been casting near constantly for over fourteen hours you find that your reserves are still far from empty.

At this point blank range your spells work to the devastating effect intended. You raise their fallen back to their feet and they begin fighting among the grind. You cast a plague on the humans and after the exhaustion of battle, terror and simple bad weather they no longer seem to have the force of will neccessary to use whatever inhuman resistance they had to it before. They break out in black boils and fall to the ground screaming.

Still they keep fighting, until six great roars of six great bears shake the air. At their rear your were-bear allies have joined the fray, advancing together with your treants. Nothing could have prepared them for that.

Three hundred men remain by the time they break and flee. All but one of them. The paladin is still locked in his duel with Melandie. Whether his will is preternatural or whether it is impossible to break away from Melandie without opening himself up to a deathblow he stands his ground. All the others flee.

Don't remember ever saying that, but then it turns out I've been living with neurotoxic fungus for the last year, so hell, he might be right. Generally rolls don't matter beyond success/failure unless they're crits anyways.

They can run. They are but shattered remains of what they were and will be no threat to your lands as they are now. Their leader is another matter. He cannot live. You've tried to reason with devout followers of Pern before, and it is an exercise in futility. Even if you convince them at one point, in a little while they'll decide you're the devil come to trick them, and so still need to be killed.

You take the knife of one of the kobolds and stab the paladin in the back three times. He falls and Lathrien breaks out of his frozen state.

You think you see blood-madness in his eyes for a moment. But it is soon gone.

It would be a waste to leave such a perfectly good warrior as the paladin to rot...

And with that concludes the thirtieth installment of Feral Necromancer Quest.

You have gained 3 exp, making the total 4.

You have gained Draconic Magic V! You have learned Dragon Breath. The element is acid.

The most archetypical ability of draconic creatures, their breath is actually generated entirely by magic, and is not biological as some have supposed. Upon learning this ability you can expel an entirely unnatural amount of acidic vapour from your mouth, covering a large cone in front of you with the potent magical attack.

Shamanism 2 combo! Frost breath- instead of an acidic cloud you can breathe air cooled to a dangerously low temperature in the same cone.

Necromancy 1 combo! Draining breath: Instead of acid or ice you can expel a cloud of pure necromantic magic from your mouth. This energy will drain the life of any living creature within the area of effect and return some of it to you.

Just saying if we want a vamp for of immortality it should be much easier. Given
1. We have done it before
2. Lath is a vamp and whole is stronger in necromancer powers
3. Pern, lost a shit ton of followers.
4. When the rest of his warriors get back, they will spread the word they lost, Pern will lose some if any followers left back at home.
Should make the dc lower. Possibly gain another perk. Like more light time or a severe reduction in blood need. Possibly both if we play our cards right.

Hindsight 20/20, when we become a dragon we'll just change it to Dracul
>>
>>43286508
I can dig it.

But then our male children will all be "Dracula", since apparently it means "Son of the Dragon".
>>
So, it's mentioned somewhere that going DARGONZOLA means that Vlad's personality is going to get borked into Dragon-shape, we found any ways to counter that?
>>
>>43286601
yep, I don't see a problem though
>>
>>43286635
Step one.

Don't be a dick.

Step two.

Give Bathory the dick.

Step three.

???

Profit.
>>
Oh god Dragon!Vlad is going to be so fucking hilarious
>Genuinely pretty nice, pretty benevolent guy
>Oh god he's so powerful he's basically a fucking God on his own
>He knows so much shit and has helped so many people in his various adventurers out of genuine desire to help that he is basically a Geo-political entity on his reputation, let alone his power
>Has a close cadre of friends that are very loyal, and a stable wife who he plans to have many children with over their immortal existence.
>Still fucking sucks at talking to people even though he is a very skilled diplomat.
>If you ask nicely he wouldn't have an issue with giving you an immortal alchemical body, probably not up to par with his cabal's bodies but still immortal, and bring the stuff.
>And now his breath would make a Xenomorph jealous, or it's fucking ice, or it rips your life from your body.

When we become Dargon the Implication, we need to learn a breath attack that combos with necromancy it's basically an instant army-sized necromancy ritual.

Also, we need a Dragon picture that fits.

I hope Dead can find one, it's gonna be so sick. We'll only reamin bro-tier if we keep our dragon arrogance and greed in check.

I'm personally partial to Dragon Age's dragons, a good combo between lithe without sacrificing strength and can have bitchin' horn / crest arrangements.

The only thing they lack is a fuckhuge wingspan.

Another life form has nothing to do with the curse that is vampirism.
Also I am going to take it that the new information is the "better" more "correct information. Cause I remember that Dragons are not "natural" creatures in this setting. But the talk we had with the last dragon contradicts that possibly.
But either way don't see how having higher draconic magic, immortality negate us from being a vampire.
At least with dragon lichdom shouldn't be ruled it since there are plenty lichdragons. Not that I want that, vampiredragon master race. Possibly dragon scales could negate the effects of light.
>>
>>43286938
That's pretty cool.

>>43286950
I just want regular dragon, we don't really need to be a lich or a vampire.
>>
>>43287011
what about a hivemind?
>>
>>43287041
Ew, that's even worse. I just don't want anything that keeps us from feeling, you stop feeling and you become what everyone fears. Also hivemind is kinda shitty mechanically

no thanks.
possibly for someone else. like Bathory. So we can technically have multiple wives.
I am just bist towards vampires. Would like it, and seems like it wouldn't be a problem. while increasing all of our stats, that grow with time no question.
And I feel with pern weakened we could gain a few extra perks that lath could not. like longer time/no penalty from sun or little /no need for blood. with all the benefits.
>>

Wouldn't being a Vampire / Lich dragon be ultimately detrimental?

I mean, Dragon's get more powerful and larger as they age, and neither one of those ages physically, sure, a Vampire grows more powerful with age and experience, but it's not the same as physical growth, and if a Dragon grows too large it can just magic itself smaller.
>>
>>43287140
All I want is dragon + regen.

That shit is pretty much invulnerable.

So alchemy up a bunch of shit so we can get awesome regen.

And wear armor. It would essentially be spaced armor. And spaced armor ain't nothing to fuck with, really.
>>
>>43287147

Also, being a Vampire dargon might prevent Vlad from exploring the stars.

Maybe, if we get to that point.
>>
>>43287147
Vampires naturally grow more physically and magically powerful over time, while not having to worry about anything else so long as they feed.

I don't know how the dragons work in this setting. But I assume we get bigger, but not exactly more magically powerful.

Since Necorax had to actually learn magic. Maybe Draconic magic will get more powerful, but our other magics won't do so for the same reason, we'd have to increase our intelligence or some shit for that.

I dunno, mang.

I still would rather just be a dragon.
>>
>>43287147
As a dragon I am sure draconic magic would increase with time.
As a vampire both strength/power and vampire powers would increase with time.

Even if in this setting which makes sense, that a dragon would stop growing physically. We would continue to grow our draconic magic. As any dragon, and our strength would continue to grow as a vampire. Instead of getting larger we would grow stronger with a "small" dragon body.
>>43287197
dragon + vampire = regen
>>43287220
how would that stop him from exploring the stars? As I see it it would only help. Being the don't need to breath and all.

Of course the sun would stop it. But I would really only want it, if we can negate the sun aspect of the curse. since Pern should be weak I think we can manage that.
>>43287262
mhm. I just like the idea of vampire, and I want it. Only big issue for me is the sun thing. And I hope with a weak Pern we can get over that.
>>
>>43287262
When we encountered Necorax Vlad had the revelation of how powerful an elder dragon actually was. The one we killed was little more than a hatchling and could kill an entire band of orcs alone.
>>
>>43287322
Nah dude, the vampire ship has sailed I think, not too many anons (myself included) like it enough.
>>
>>43287344
I'm aware, and that is obvious, if you fight a child you still fight a child.

I'm basing my thoughts on Necorax's statements. A fully grown dragon doesn't seem to just get super powerful for no reason, even if they grow larger and physically become more powerful, this doesn't mean that the dragon becomes any more magically capable for no reason other than growing older.

Especially since, as Necorax said, his focus was necromancy.
>>
>>43287450
Hmmm there's probably some stuff about dragons we still need to learn.

Also I kinda want vlad to be a planeswalker now, shit would be awesome.
>>
>>43287376
Yeah, but just bringing it up. To hopefully motivate some people to at least not be against it if the option shows up, for some reason. Or possibly convince other to do it as well. Seeing the dragon was a major choice not going to fight it. But vampire shouldn't be a bad mix, especially when combined could compliment each others powers.
>>
>>43287516
I just don't see the appeal anymore, even if we are mixing. Sorry man
