You've come a long way since this whole monstrous affair started.

You've crossed between worlds and glimpsed into the afterlife. You've spilled the blood of angels, devils and now humans. You've struggled and suffered, shedding blood and spilling tears for every little victory you've managed. God and Lucifer are both your enemies, while stranger things than them wait ahead of you. You've been betrayed and manipulated, played like a damn fiddle at times, but that wasn't enough to stop you. Nothing, to date, has been enough to stop you.

It's not been all bad though. You've made friends and found family – even if you've lost as much as you've gained. In this world of violent transition you made something of yourself, rising above the petty troublemaker that you once were. You've become a warrior, a leader even. Somebody that's worth a damn. It's still not enough for you though – you've got your sights set on a much higher prize, the True Divinity that waits atop this grand Tower. The power to create a new world, shaped in whatever image you wish to bestow upon it.

Your name is Amelia Bishop, and you've come a long way since this all started – but you've still got some distance to travel. This isn't over yet.

Beelzebub's garden reeks of death, of decay and fecundity, and you see both Petra and Cassandra reeling back at the stench. Smiling grimly, you look up at the ever-shifting tapestry of black clouds that swirl above. Is there some sun behind those churning dark swells, or is this realm as cold and dark as anything Hell has thrown your way? Sun or no sun, it matters not – you're here to take Beelzebub's head, and you won't turn back because of some petty scent.

But where is the Lord of the Flies? Hiding somewhere within the depths of this great garden, running in fear from your arrival? You doubt that somehow, but it's nice to imagine. No, you'll need to dig him out yourself, searching until you find some sign of him.

“We should burn it, yes?” Petra announces suddenly, “Burn everything, and give him nowhere to hide.”

“I don't know about that,” Cassandra argues, “That sounds pretty dangerous – what if we get caught in the flames? If things go, uh, bad, we won't be able to retreat very easily if everything is burning around us.”

“We're not retreating,” Petra insists, her voice hard, “No turning back now. Not one step back.” The brash redhead pulls out her phone and summons Cerberus, flames already gathering within the hellhound's mouth. “I can cut a path through this,” she tells you, drawing her pistol, “And cut through whatever enemy we find, yes?”

You don't doubt that either, but perhaps there is something to be said for the subtle approach. It might be slower, but Cassandra is right – fire is not a directed weapon. There's just as much chance of the flames turning back on you.

No fire, you tell Petra, not yet at least. Sometimes, discretion is the better part of valour and while you're certainly not planning on retreating, you can't rule out the possibility. You'll do this as quietly as possible, getting in and out without raising a fuss.

Yeah right.

Petra looks disappointed by your decision, but nods regardless. You take the lead in pushing forwards into the undergrowth, brushing aside thorny vines and vast ferns as you enter the garden. Stinking, mouldy fruit bursts underneath your boots as you advance, sinking into the hungry earth as the soil claims its prize. Perhaps Joseph's body has met the same fate, broken down and devoured by the kind of plants that only a devil's garden could grow. The idea has a certain vindictive appeal – denying Heaven his remains, just as one final insult.

You don't talk as you search through the garden, none of you willing to raise your voice above the constant background hum. That sound grates on your nerves, seemingly coming from no particular direction. It surrounds you, beating down on you like a hellish industrial drone and filling you with a wordless apprehension. Scowling up at the shifting sky, you press on towards what looks like a clearing. Stepping around the splintered trunk of a shattered tree – lichen coating it like fur – you enter the clearing and spot your target.

Beelzebub, the Lord of the Flies. He's as hideous as you were expecting. A vast bloated body, like that of an insect, crowned with a loathsome fly head. Skull patterned wings flutter behind him, and his inhuman eyes glow from within. Disgusting.

“Welcome human!” Beelzebub roars, his voice buzzing in your ears, “Do you like my garden? All life thrives here, struggling in a constant fight for survival. Anything that does not possess the strength to thrive dies, becoming food for the victors. The way life should be!”

Like hell, you mutter as you take a step closer. The ground here, usually the soft earth of a swamp, gives way to hard rattling stones. Not stones, you realise as you look down, but skulls. Countless bleached bones, staring up at the sky with empty eye sockets. A charming touch, you think to yourself, just the thing to bring the look together.

“Ah, but you have slain Metatron – you are truly strong!” Beelzebub's rasping voice has a note of admiration in it, “But I see that you've not come here to talk. You come to fight! Very well, human – test your strength against mine, and we shall see who has the right to survive!”

So that's it - no questions, no attempt to sway you to his cause? Fine with you. He could have talked all day, and it wouldn't change a thing. You're here for his revolting head, and you won't leave without it.

You're not sure if your enemy can fly with those wings of his – they look almost dainty, compared with his bloated chitinous body – but you want someone to counter him if he does take to the air. Gurr, freshly recovered from a good long rest, then. If you can force Beelzebub to the ground, Heartless is the obvious choice – has your pet killer ever let you down? Finally, your newest recruit, the devil Moloch. If he wants to take Beelzebub's place, then he can bloody well work for it.

Petra, still with Cerberus summoned, joins you while Cassandra, Ose looming large over her shoulder, covers the rear. No matter what advantages Beelzebub might be able to bring to battle, you've got him outnumbered, at the very least.

“Time to burn,” Moloch growls, his metallic skin glowing red as a raging fire builds within him, his eyes fixed on Beelzebub with naked ambition.

“You would take my place?” Beelzebub's voice hums in a shrill laugh, “Coming here was a mistake, fool. You should have stuck to your forge, creating weapons for the real aristocracy!”

Frankly, you're not sure you need to give the order – those two look like they're about to start killing each other any minute now. Still, with a silent command, you launch the attack.

Gurr rises high into the churning ink black clouds in preparation for a vicious dive but, at the last minute, hesitates. His dive turns into a clumsy plunge as he streaks down to the ground and crashes, collapsing in a tangle of twisted limbs. Seeing his sudden defeat, you can't stop yourself from crying out in outrage. He wasn't hit – he wasn't even injured! What is this bullshit?

It's only when Gurr lurches upright and coughs, vomiting out clumps of greasy flies, that you realise what happened. Those aren't clouds above you – no, those are countless thousands of buzzing insects, blocking out whatever passes for a sun in this hellish place.

Beelzebub chuckles, stamping over to Gurr with his fists raised to crush the stunned devil. That's when Moloch strikes, breathing out fire not in a rolling cloud but as a focussed beam that sears Beelzebub's flesh. Blazing with white hot light, the beam of fire melts through the Lord of Flies, neatly cutting off one hand. The vast rod, topped with an equally large skull, drops uselessly to the ground, soon joined by the hand that had held it. A piercing shriek of pain and rage fills the air as Beelzebub reels back, exposing his vulnerable underbelly.

You recognise the opening immediately, and so does Heartless. Darting in low, the killer plunges his iron stakes into Beelzebub's belly and rips them downwards, spilling out a gout of clumpy white... stuff. You have no idea what it is – frankly, you don't want to know – but Beelzebub flies into a frenzy as it seeps from his body. Lashing out wildly, he throws Heartless away and storms forwards, roaring with fury.

Throwing yourself to the side, away from his frenzied charge, Ose darts forwards to meet the devil. Petra, you notice, has circled around to flank Beelzebub, ready to launch her own attack.

With his twin swords flashing, Ose lunges forwards and rolls neatly under Beelzebub's swinging fists. Coming out of his roll, he swipes upwards with his deadly blades, marking Beelzebub's torso with a pair of fine red lines. At first, they look like shallow cuts – a graze, skimming across the top layer of armour at most – and then the blood starts to pour out, mixed in with more of that unspeakable white slime. Entrails maybe? Whatever the source, it causes Beelzebub to lurch backwards in pain, swinging wildly at anything that comes near.

Unfortunately, that includes Cerberus. Petra's faithful hellhound is scooped up and hurled away, launched into the bristling thorns that line the garden. You hear a faint yelp and the rustling of a heavy body thrashing about, but nothing else. Nothing else, until Petra shouts with enough rage to equal Beelzebub's own fury. If you were in her position, you'd summon a new demon and keep up the attack. Petra, on the other hand, simply levels her enchanted pistol and sends shot after shot into Beelzebub's side, each one blazing like a miniature fireball and burning neat holes in the devil's armour. There's no blood – each wound is cauterised instantly.

With a final groaning roar, Beelzebub collapsed down into a deep slump, his body sagging under its own weight. Before you can entertain the hope of an easy victory, a deep laugh – low and evil – escapes from Beelzebub. It grows to a manic howl as the Lord of the Flies raises his hands to the air. Obeying his unspoken command, the cloud of flies that had filled the air begins to descend, their mass shimmering with dark energies. You don't know what to expect, but you know that it's nothing good.

Didn't Nebiros warn you about this, in what seems like another life? Beelzebub's mastery of dark and deathly magic – unmatched by anything underneath the Heavens. Sure enough, you feel Mithra's Eye growing warm against your chest as it counters whatever dark power animates those deathly flies. Through the descending cloud of darkness, you spot Cassandra raising her shield and extending its power but... something's wrong.

She moves slowly, weakly, and just a few moments after raising her arm, you see her sway on the spot and collapse. Her limp body falls to the ground as you hurry forwards, frantic commands racing through your mind as you throw together the quickest plan you've ever created. The ground trembles slightly as Moloch drags his bulk towards you, joining you as you throw yourself atop Cassandra's prone body. Moments later, the scent of burning flesh fills the air as Moloch looms large, the red hot iron of his body burning every single fly that comes near you. Then, before you can do anything else to protect Cassandra, the dense cloud of flies descends completely, blotting out all sound and light. For now, your world has been reduced to the sound of buzzing and the terrible heat radiating from Moloch's body.

You couldn't say how long it lasts, but – eventually – it ends. The flies seem to thin out, dropping motionless to the ground or simply fading away like smoke. By the time the air has cleared, your entire body feels heavy, drained of all energy and close to collapse. Moloch's rasping breath sounds above you, almost smothering the faint, trembling sound of Cassandra's faltering breath. She's alive... just.

Groaning and forcing your body into action, you roll over and steel yourself for battle. When you look up, though...

Beelzebub's body lies before you, with the few limbs that remain attached to his body twisted and broken. His bulging insect eyes have been shattered, burst and split open, with the rusted length of Petra's machete buried in his forehead. Heartless stoops at the fallen devil's side, methodically pulling out the countless metal stakes he had jabbed into Beelzebub's body. The ground around them is splattered with blood, entrails and more of that white stuff – insect larva, you finally realise with a disgusted thought.

“Not so tough, yes?” Petra gasps, her face pale beneath the mask of dark blood. Whatever enfeebling magic that almost brought you to the edge of death has also taken its toll on her, as with all of your demons. Still, her flippant comment makes you smile wearily. “How is she?” Petra asks, trudging over to you and looking down at Cassandra with a surprising amount of concern in her one eye.

You check Cassandra's pulse, finding it to be weaker than you'd like. Her skin is marked with little black spots, small pockets of decay from where the flies touched her, but they seem cosmetic at worst. If she had been exposed to the full rain, without any kind of protection... You think of the skulls dotting the ground here and shudder. She'll be fine, you tell Petra, with enough conviction that you almost believe it. She just needs a rest. You all need a rest.

“A rest,” Petra says thoughtfully as she pulls her weapon loose from Beelzebub's decaying head, “Would be nice, yes. But not here.”

You couldn't agree more. The air here, never the most pleasant of things, has only grown even more foul with the addition of Beelzebub's degrading corpse. The entrance hall, you suggest, and Petra nods.

“This is where we part ways,” Moloch rumbles, “Our business is finished.”

Sure, he might have double crossed you a little – or at least given you the shitty end of your original deal – but you'll be a little sad to see Moloch go. It might have been self interest motivating his actions, but he certainly pulled his weight back there. Looking up at his harsh, bovine face, you admit that maybe – just maybe – you wouldn't have been able to do it without him.

“Of course you wouldn't!” Moloch laughs, “It takes a devil to fight a devil. Aren't you glad you took my generous offer?”

Okay okay, now he's really pushing it. You already said you were grateful – he shouldn't push his luck. Still... you shrug and ask, without much hope: Why not see this through until the end? You made a pretty good team, after all, and you're not finished yet. You've got the Outsider to come, and not a single idea of what might await you. If you could cover all your bases...

“I'll have to decline,” Moloch tells you, with an amused politeness, “I've just been promoted, you see, and I've got to clear out this old office. I'm going to be very busy, these next few days.”

You don't have the heart to tell him that you don't think there will be many days to come. Instead, you simply pick Cassandra up – her body is still frightfully light – and set off back towards the entrance hall. It's hardly the most comfortable of places – you'd much rather prefer your plush rooms back at the fairy kingdom – but you don't have many other choices. Everywhere that you might have called home, once, has been destroyed.

“Mind the stairs,” Moloch reminds you as you leave the garden, his voice cast in exactly the kind of mocking tone that would have earned him a punch in the nose, had be been a human. You grunt back your curt thanks and head off, leaving the gardens behind forever.

The journey back to the entrance hall is uneventful, undisturbed even though you see several demons scurrying away from you as you walk. They flee before you, retreating down corridors and hiding behind great basalt doors. They fear you – and quite frankly, you don't blame them. Ignoring the scurrying wretches, you complete your journey in silence.

Later, sitting in the entrance hall, you glance up at the golden gates and notice the second key in place. The way ahead is open now, just waiting for you to march up and claim whatever destiny lies beyond. Part of you is tempted to leave Cassandra here with Petra and forge ahead. No, it's more than a temptation – it's like a siren song, tugging at your mind and urging you onwards. You don't need your little amber pendant to recognise a ruse when you feel one, and the compulsion soon fades. Almost like it realised the game was up, you muse to yourself as you lean over to check on Cassandra. She's sleeping now, her chest rising and falling with steady breaths.

“This should help,” Petra murmurs, touching a finger to her phone and summoning Daisoujou. The monk appears with the usual hollow laugh, but falls silent when Petra shoots him a withering glare. After a brief staring contest – Petra seems to have learned to command her demons with thought alone – Daisoujou begins to ring his bell, casting a warm healing light over you all. It feels good, like waking up after a long and restful sleep.

Sighing heavily, you lean back and let the power wash over you, banishing fatigue and restoring your strength. Even with the hard tiles cold beneath you, you almost feel like you could sleep here. A nap would be nice, perhaps...
>>
>>43276620

It's impossible to tell how long you slept – time is meaningless now, with any clocks you have long since stopped – but you wake up feeling refreshed. Cassandra is still asleep, the dark scars on her skin faded until they are nearly invisible, but Petra is awake. She glances around at the sound of you pulling yourself upright, but then returns to scanning the room. Just woken up, you wonder, or was she awake the whole time?

“Someone needed to stand guard,” she explains, still facing away from you, “A precaution, yes? I don't need much sleep anyway.”

Well... you appreciate it either way. An ambush, this late in the game, would be a bitter way to die. You move to wake Cassandra, but Petra stops you. Looking round, her face is indecisive.

“It was never going to work, was it?” she asks softly.

You stare blankly at her for a moment before you realise what she means. Christ, she's asking this now? Does she have no concept of appropriate timing?

“Closure, yes?” Petra tilts her head to the side, holding your gaze, “I might not get another chance to ask.”

Hell, she's right. You don't know what's waiting up that staircase, so this might really be your last chance to clear the air. Although, to be honest, your own feelings are muddled enough that you're not really sure what to tell Petra. You've never really been the type to think about “feelings” or whatever, and now she puts you in this position. Wonderful.

She could do better than you, you tell her, with the vague hope that she'll accept that as an answer and drop the subject. When she doesn't, however, you soften your tone and bring out that old cliché – she's just not your type.

“Oh?” Petra's voice is light, but deliberately so, “And what is your type?”

Bloody hell. Handsome and enthusiastic, you begin before glancing down at Cassandra and adding: human. Then, just to make sure Petra gets the point, you repeat yourself. Handsome, enthusiastic, human... and male.

This, at least, causes Petra to laugh loud enough that Cassandra sits bolt upright, looking around with panicked eyes. “What are we laughing about?” she asks as she rubs her eyes.

Nothing, you practically shout, nobody is laughing about anything. This is a no laughter zone. Serious people only.

“Oh,” Cassandra looks puzzled, “Wait, how did I get here? What happened up there, in the garden?”

You're only too happy to launch into a detailed explanation of what happened. Petra fills in the gory details – until Cassandra starts to look a little ill, anyway.

“Um, I see,” Cassandra murmurs, before looking up at the stairs, “So it's really time?”

You think so. Is she okay to move?

“Yes, I can walk,” Cassandra nods, and together you approach the stairs. This is, you realise, the point of no return.

Before you... do this, you want to make sure that everyone is on the same page. Turning to Petra, you tell her everything you know about the Outsider. How it took your mother's form and manipulated it into sending the cornerstones to the Outside. How it claimed to be the true champion of mankind, only to maintain an abusive status quo at all costs. How it whispered defiance into humanity's ear.

Then you tell her of the fate that awaited the Outsider's champion. To be bound into eternal servitude, until another could be found, or to be cast into total oblivion. That's why you have to oppose it at all costs. Petra is silent for a while, thinking over what you've told her, and then she speaks.

“That bastard deserves death,” she says simply.

You couldn't agree more. With that, you thank both of them for sticking with you all this time. You couldn't have made it this far, without your friends behind you. Both of them... you appreciate everything.

“We couldn't have done it without you, either,” Cassandra tells you, smiling warmly. Returning her smile, you take a deep breath and touch the golden gateway, shivering as it swings wide open at the slightest pressure. Inviting you in.

You've never been one to turn down an invitation. With your friends at your side, you step through the gate.

Darkness awaits you.

This is...

You recognise this ceiling. Craggy rock, like some primeval cave lashed by centuries of rain. This is Ankou's domain, the entranceway to the afterlife. Was this all some grand trap, some massive ruse leading up to instant death?

No, it can't be. Even with all the world's cruelties, your fate could not be that bitter. Slowly, watching your surroundings for any sign of hostility, you climb to your feet. You're alone, you realise – Cassandra and Petra are simply not here. Clutching a hand to your aching forehead, you look around again. At the far end of the cave, you see the withered desk and chair that Ankou had been seated at. His abacus, with those beads of polished bone, has been thrown against the far wall and lies in a shattered pile. Of the deity himself, there is no sign.

This isn't right, you murmur to yourself. This is definitely not right. Nothing about this is right.

“Come now,” a familiar voice calls out. You turn back to Ankou's desk and see your mother – no, the Outsider – sitting neatly on it, her legs swaying back and forth. “My rebellious child, it HAS been a while, hasn't it?”

No. She is NOT your mother, and you are NOT her child. You spit the words with undisguised venom, glaring hard at the treasonous entity. Does her malign influence extend even here, to the afterlife?

“You have questions,” the Outsider yawns, “Ask them quickly, so we can get on with this.”

Looking around the ancient cave, your gaze falls upon the shattered abacus. What, you ask carefully, has she done with Ankou? This is... was... his domain. He should have ruled over it, not her.

“Ankou?” the Outsider appears to think for a moment, “Ah yes. A pagan name, raised from your collective memory. A crude mask, but one that was suited to my needs.” A long, low laugh escapes her as you take an involuntary step backwards. “You understand, don't you? I was the one who gave you life – you owe your life to ME.”

But... no, that can't be! Your mother, she traded her life for yours. Ankou told you!

“Your mother died, ignorant and helpless, in the first days of the transitional world,” the Outsider sneers, “I took her form to give you hope of finding her again. The bargain? So you would fight with every possible effort to keep your precious life. It can be so inconvenient, replacing fallen servants.”

You're silent for a long time as you struggle to get your thoughts in order. She's been pulling your strings since the very first days of this new world. Was there anything she didn't have a hand in? Shaking your head, you murmur a question about your friends. Where are they?

“Still in the entrance hall,” the Outsider shrugs, “I wonder how many times they'll pass through that gate of mine before they lose hope. I hope you gave them a warm goodbye,” she covers her mouth and laughs delicately, “Because you won't have a chance to see them again.”

“Now,” she says, filling in the empty space caused by your shocked silence, “Shall we begin?”
>>
>>43278028

Begin... what?

“You have a decision to make,” the Outsider announces, waving a hand in the air and banishing the image of the cave around you. The scenery is replaced by a wide open plaza, crumbling stone pillars reaching up into the infinite void above. Beyond the boundaries of the Tower is nothing but blackness, marked by countless shining lights. Stars, perhaps?

“Universes,” the Outsider corrects you, “Countless universes, constantly locked in a cycle of creation and destruction. All possible outcomes wait, somewhere out there. What your... friends call “prophecy” is nothing more than a glimpse into these other universes. Would you care for a look?”

Before you can refuse, the Outsider swipes a hand across the empty space before you, conjuring up a picture. Cassandra, dying on the ground surrounded by warrior angels. The image is soon replaced by a new one – you and Leon, holding hands as the world burns around you. Then a third image, the worst one yet. An image of yourself, surrounded by the bodies of your friends and family, with the blackened spike of a Magatama thrust out from your spine.

“Enough,” the Outsider snaps, dismissing the images, “Now. You understand what I want you to do, don't you? Create a new world with me, and serve me to guide the next generation. It's a fair deal, no?”

No, you reply with a numb shake of the head, not even close to fair.

“Really? I am the true master of mankind,” the Outsider purrs, “I force no dogma, and I don't preach the virtues of strength. Am I not kind and merciful?”

The master of mankind? You can feel your face twisting in a vicious sneer as your betrayal turns to anger and boils over inside of you. Mankind ill needs a saviour like HER. No, she's nothing but a parasite. That seems to get a reaction, the Outsider's eyes first growing wide with shock and then narrowing into harsh slits.

That's it, you realise, that's the truth of it. She really is a parasite, supping at the wellspring of divinity. She NEEDS you to create a new world, not to control but to reproduce. Nothing she does is about kindness – she wouldn't know kindness if it ripped away that mask of a face – it's about continuing her wretched life.

You look out at the countless universes unfolding around you. How many of them, you wonder, have been infected by an Outsider? You turn back to the Outsider with sudden contempt. All she ever does is manipulate others and toy with their free will. At least God is honest with His intentions, rather than feigning at subtlety and good will.

“You don't understand-” she begins, but you cut her off.

Stop, you spit, just stop. The True Divinity belongs to you, and you'll claim it over her corpse – if that's what it takes.

“So you truly won't listen?” the Outsider sighs sadly, “Then, sadly, you must die. Prepare yourself for battle, human. This will be a fight like no other.”

Battle, is it? That's fine with you. You reach down and pull out your phone but, before you can summon any of your demons, a sharp shock runs through you. The phone drops to the ground and, slowly, a pillar of smoke begins to rise up from it. Horrified, you watch as the smoke takes on a familiar form. Heartless.

“All this time,” the Outsider purrs, “Your greatest enemy was waiting right at your side. Did you never suspect?” The Outsider laughs, this time with cruelty. “Kill her,” she declares, “Kill her... Nyarlathotep!”

You dive and swipe up your phone as Heartless swings a bladed hand above your head, his fingers scything through the air above you. He seems... slower than usual. Lethargic, somehow. Even so, you barely dodge the blow before it takes your head off. Now though, with phone in hand, you might have a chance to fight back.

“Fight all you want,” the Outsider taunts, “It won't make a difference. You know that by now, don't you? You've seen what he can do, to those foolish enough to resist. Why not make this easy, and just show some obedience? Is it such a poor fate, to bend the knee?”

Just another fight, you tell yourself, just like every other battle you've been through. You'll win this, just like you've won every other fight. First things first, summon Hear-

Oh.

Right.

Grimacing, you summon Cernunnos, Morrigan and Hresvelgr, trying not to show the relief you feel once there's a layer of demons between you and your former ally. It's hard not to be scared of him, after seeing what he's capable of doing. Next, while you've got a moment, try to study him. Maybe he has a weakness of some kind? You open Goetia and try to scan Heartless, but the screen displays nothing but scrawling runes and flickering, distorted letters. Just looking at them is enough to make your head ache. No help there.

You look up as Heartless draws a pair of long iron stakes from his heart and force a smile. Come on Jack, you cry, really? After everything you've been through together? Why not fight together, one last time. A battle at the end of reality – what a thrill!

Heartless' snarling face is as difficult to read as ever, but... you swear you saw a flicker of interest there. Temptation, perhaps. Maybe this isn't over yet. Then, before you can say anything else, he lashes out with both blades, his blow only just blocked by Cernunnos.

So, he wants a fight, does he?

You order your demons forwards, but with a trace of hesitation. Even with everything, you don't want to kill Heartless. You've done too much together to just throw him away now, at the first sign of disobedience. Pin him down, you silently instruct your demons. Then, taking a good few steps backwards, you watch.

Morrigan, perhaps remembering her grudge with Heartless, rushes forwards first, her sword raised to strike at his limbs. You wanted him alive, after all, not necessarily intact. Although you can hardly fault Morrigan for her enthusiasm, her results are somewhat less remarkable. Heartless slides easily to the side, dodging her first swipe and plunges his stakes into her chest, twisting them cruelly. Morrigan gasps out loud, her face contorting with pain, before Heartless rips his weapons down, tearing through the woman's armour and messily gutting her. She gasps again, too weak to make any other sound, and drops to her knees. Grinning wildly, Heartless turns his gaze upon Cernunnos.

That's when Hresvelgr strikes, swooping down from the dark abyss above to seize Heartless in his talons. The demon bird then takes to the air, flying straight up until it is visible as nothing other than a faint white dot. From such a height, it takes Heartless some time to return to earth – even taking the fast way down. He lands with enough force to shatter the glittering tiles beneath your feet, yet even that is not enough to kill him. Groggily, Heartless begins to rise.

Cernunnos is quick to put an end to that. Grabbing Heartless and twisting the killer's boneless limbs, Cernunnos slams him down to the floor and pins him there. For a moment, at least, Heartless is helpless.

You approach, stepping carefully around the pool of Morrigan's steaming entrails and stooping down next to Heartless. You study his face – blank with bloodlust and rage – for a moment before you speak up. You'll give him the same offer you give everyone else, you tell him in a loud, clear voice. He can join you, swear obedience to your cause, or he can die. Kill for you, or die. He's been with you every step of the way, right from the first day you spent in the world of transition. You never needed to recruit him.

Perhaps it's time you changed that.

You could promise to fight for a good cause, or to battle something that not even God and Lucifer knew about, but would that really make a difference? No, you have a far better promise to make. You promise that, so long as he serves you, Heartless won't ever have to be bored. He can have a life spent meeting new and interesting people – and then he can kill them – but only if he rejoins your service.

His eyes narrowing, Heartless speaks to you. He speaks in your mind, with a voice at odds with his body. A deep, melodic voice with a strangely cultured accent. “You always were an interesting one,” he muses, “And I won't lie – I enjoyed our time together. I'm as curious as to you about what comes next.”

So...

“So I think you'd be far more amusing to stick with,” Heartless admits, “I accept your terms, human, just make sure to keep me interested. You don't want me to start making my own fun, do you?”

You glance across at Morrigan's decaying remains. Nope, you do NOT want to give him an excuse.

“Very well,” Heartless laughs softly, his voice creeping around the corners of your mind, “I'm glad I went easy on you.”

Now, you've got other business to attend to. You turn to the Outsider who looks surprisingly calm, considering the circumstances. She watches as Heartless returns to your storage and offers nothing but a weary sigh as you approach, cracking your knuckles.

“This changes nothing,” the Outsider tells you bluntly, “You don't have a choice. You're here to create a new world, aren't you? That's my goal as well! Don't you understand? If the new world doesn't get created, you'll find only oblivion – so why not let me create my world and choose nothingness anyway? Are you really so stubborn that you'll create nothing, just to spite me?”

Not to spite her, you correct her, but to deny her. You're not going to let her get her claws into another world – and that's why you're going to kill her. Before she can say anything else, you throw a punch at her head, aiming to crush her skull with your enchanted knuckleduster.

...Only, your fist flies right through her, like you were punching a hologram. She doesn't have a physical body?

“Correct,” the Outsider announces, her voice truly miserable now, “I cannot act in this physical world. I can only dictate and direct.”

And that's why she needs you. The Outsider needs someone to do all the heavy lifting, and if you don't play along, she's helpless. As you laugh openly at her plight, savouring the moment, you feel a sudden heat at you back. Slowly, fearing this new development, you turn around. A ball of blinding white light hovers in the middle of the Tower – the True Divinity.

“You'll die!” the Outsider screams suddenly, “You'll die if you touch it! Even IF you can create a world, it will be broken – ruined! A mere human like you can't create a world! It'll be a bastard, an abortion! You NEED me, don't you understand? You NEED me!”

All your life, people have been trying to tell you what you can and can't do. Now that you're one of the only humans left alive, you're still having that old routine shoved down your throat. Don't do this Amelia, Don't do that Amelia. Don't touch that font of cosmic power Amelia. Don't become a god, Amelia.

Bullshit. What's stopping you from becoming a god?

The Outsider still doesn't understand. You don't need her. Nobody needs her. Mankind has never needed this constant meddling – not God's Law or Lucifer's Strength, and definitely not her phoney third way. This is about mankind standing on its own, without masters or puppet strings. The Outsider isn't a parasite, you were wrong about that – she's a cancer. One that you're about to remove. Then, you turn your back on her, ignoring whatever else she might have to say. You're done with her. Finished.

Instead, you give Cernunnos a salute, punching a fist to your heart. It was an honour fighting alongside him, you declare.

“And an honour to serve you,” he snarls, a savage pride beaming through his eyes. When you first met, you were enemies – now he's one of your strongest allies.

You summon Undine next – the first demon you recruited to your cause. She sampled some of your life then, and liked what she had tasted. You hope she still approves.

“Boss,” she tells you, with what might be a tear in her eye, “You're the best. Best damn human I've ever met.”

Valkyrie is next. She was a part of Cernunnos' army, eager to ride to glory and Valhalla. You're not quite there, but you came pretty damn close.

“Master!” Valkyrie clashes her swords together, “I've witnessed your glory, and you shall be eternal!”

And then there is Pixie, who was given to you as aid and a gift. You've taken her far from her home in the fairy kingdom – can she forgive you?

“The things I've seen,” she muses, “There's nothing to forgive. Thanks for taking a humble fairy like me with you.”

Eligor – the old knight, released from Forneus' service. You like to think that he kept you honest and honourable, and you hope you didn't disappoint him.

“You've made an old warrior very proud,” Eligor tells you, leaning down to place an armoured hand on your shoulder, “I'll hail you as a true demon king.”

What can you say about Gurr, really? You met him at a dark time in your life, but he followed you regardless. He earned his place in your ranks, and you're glad to have him.

“Yesss,” Gurr hisses, nodding to you, “But... how did weeee meet? I forrrrget...”

It doesn't matter, you tell him sadly as you touch Hresvelgr's plumage, stroking the bird's chill feathers. You're still not sure if it's got a mind of its own, but it served you well regardless. You give it one last pat on the side and step away. That just leaves the fallen, and those who are no longer with you. All of them, and all absent friends... You couldn't have done it without them.

With that, and wiping a tear from your own eye, you turn to the burning orb of light. The True Divinity. Taking a deep breath to steady your nerves, you reach out and touch it. In that instant, you feel a tremendous wrenching sensation, like your entire body is being stretched out and torn apart. The sensation seems to last forever, tormenting you as your consciousness drifts up, up and away.

You are looking down, now, on your human body. Watching as it slowly crumples to the ground. They were right – all of them. A mere human cannot survive contact with the True Divinity. It was never meant to be.

But you're not human, are you? The human known as Amelia Bishop is dead, and you are... something else. Is there really a word for what you are? “God” seems so... trite. Nevertheless, it would take a mere moment to reach down and breath fresh life into the body below you, to return your divine form to the world and experience it, once more, as a human. But why bother? You have greater priorities now. You have a world to create.

But what should you create? It's a question that has as many answers as there are stars in the sky. You could obey, meekly bowing down and creating one of those phoney, false worlds that those foolish pretenders wanted you to create. A world of Law, perhaps – sterile and crushed under the weight of dogma. Or maybe a world of Strength, where the weak are devoured by the strong? Or, perhaps you could forge the next link in a chain that has lasted for eternity, taking your place as the master of mankind – a new Outsider.

But if you wanted to do that, would you really have fought so hard, and for so long?

No, you should be the one to create a NEW world. One where mankind can choose their own destiny. And yet... that would be a world where Amelia Bishop would be nothing but another cog in a great machine. A new world of transition though – frozen as an endless battlefield... THAT would be a world in which she... you... would rule.

There are so many options. It seems... overwhelming. Maybe... maybe this is too much power for you.

No. You can control this. You WILL create.

Not today.
>>
>>43280736
>A world of man, free from the law of cycles
Amelia Bishop can be a cog or she could strive to be more. It would be her own choices and actions that would define her, free from the otherworldly influence that we fought against.

There was only ever one option. Funny – it seemed like there were so many different options not so long ago, all struggling and striking to get your attention. But no, you've come too far now to throw this opportunity away. You'll do what you came here to do. You'll tear down this whole damn cycle, and build a world where humanity can live free. True freedom – without the interference of gods and devils.

So Amelia Bishop – one human among billions – might be another cog. Or she could strike to become something greater, as all humans can. Success or failure, it would be her own choices and actions that governed her future – not the supernatural or the otherworldly. This is right. This is what you came here to do.

Serenity washes over you as you remember your old world, holding those treasured memories in your mind as you begin the arduous process of sculpting the new world. It's difficult, requiring every fragment of your concentration and effort. There is always some other memory – a battle, a treasured friendship with your demonic servants – that threatens to distract you from your true task. It hurts, like you're cutting off parts of yourself, but you force those thoughts away, cutting them from your mind with the dispassionate resolve that only a deity can possess. Nothing can go wrong.

It's slow work. Soon, everything fades into darkness as the few remaining fragments of the old world unravel beneath you. It has to be this way, you realise with sadness – everything must be deleted before a new world can be created.

Everything?

Even your friends?

There was a time, once, where Cassandra was a liability. Someone perched on the edge, ready to tip over into fanaticism. Perhaps it would have been easier to cut ties with her, to abandon her or to kill her entirely. But you didn't take the easy path – you stuck with her and gave her the strength to push forwards, through her despair and towards a better future. For that, she became your closest ally.

There was a time, once, where Petra was a liability. Maimed and blinded, her memory broken and draining away. It would have been easier to kill her then, and take the power you desired from her corpse. But you didn't take the easy path there, either – you dragged her out of the labyrinth and did not rest until she was healed, free from her abusive patron. For that, she grew to become a strong friend – and perhaps more.

You took the easy path once, and left Leon to perish at the hands of a goddess of death. You regretted it ever since.

You're not going to leave anyone behind. Not this time. You reach down into the collapsing world and take hold of them, your friends and the ones you left behind. The ones you missed, and the ones you couldn't save. You take Cassandra, and you take Petra. You take Marco, Mia and Leon. You even take Joseph, who was as much a victim as anyone. You take them all, and you hold them in your heart as you spin a new world into existence.

Ah... you can see it now.

Everything is blackness now, but this does not last. It all starts, like the good book says, with a light. A light, shining in the darkness.

This is your world. A world where everyone gets a happy ending.

Your name is Cassandra Einhart, and today is just another normal day in your normal – some might even say boring – life.

That's the way you like it, though. Things are rough enough at the moment, without something ridiculous like the end of the world to shake things up. Yes, the end of the world – a funny thing to imagine, and an even stranger thing to wish for. Nevertheless, there was a lot of talk, not so long ago, about just that. Some crackpot cult making a lot of noise about the end of the world, even going to far as to give it a definite date. A few months ago the day came and, sure enough, nothing happened.

You wonder what happened to those cultists. They were a national joke for a week or so, and then they vanished from the news completely. Well, it's none of your business anyway – you've got other things to concern yourself with. Perhaps all that talk about the world ending had some effect on you after all, because you found yourself re-evaluating your life and, in a rare display of assertiveness, making some changes.

You cut your hair short, something you'd been thinking about doing for a long time. Your parents hated it, of course – short hair is for men, your mother sniffed, and women who act like men – but that wasn't enough to stop you. Their taste was nothing compared with what came next, when you quit your bible studies to focus on the school chess club, where your interests truly lay. It was an outrage, a scandal in your quiet, god-fearing household, but that still wasn't the last of it. The last and greatest change was yet to come.
>>
>>43281950

A few weeks ago, you decided against going to church. You couldn't really explain why – you'd been growing further apart from God and Christianity for a long time, like a slow decay – but you thought it best to end things cleanly. Maybe you'd return to the flock one day, when you'd decided your future for yourself. Nothing you said could calm your parents, or lighten their obvious disapproval and now, these days, your home is a cold, hostile place.

It should bother you, but it doesn't. You feel, no matter what they say, like you've done the right thing. You know it with certainty, although you can't think where that certainty comes from. You just... know, deep down. In either case, you spend a lot of time outside these days, even with Winter quickly pressing in. Just walking, really, or... thinking. Trying to remember something, perhaps.

Today, your walk took you to Hyde park – somewhere that you often find yourself drawn to. You stand there for a while, staring up at the gate, before someone approaches you. It's hard to describe her face – it's hard, with a stubborn jaw and eyebrows used to frowning – but it seems familiar somehow. Maybe it's not the face, but the way she moves, with a certain tough-guy swagger. She looks hard at you for a while before offering a rueful smile.

“This wasn't a conversation I ever wanted to have,” she says, by way of introduction, “But things aren't quite going to plan. Shit, I'm getting ahead of myself... you're Cassandra Einhart, right?”

That's... right. Do you... does she know you from somewhere?

“In a past life maybe,” the girl snorts dismissively, “I know, it sounds like new age nonsense, but bear with me. I'll explain everything eventually, but for now... I need your help.”

You couldn't say why, but... you find yourself nodding. Agreeing to this lunatic request.

Oh, what are you getting yourself into now?

I was a little surprised at how unanimous the decision to preserve everyone was. And I thought some people might be irked by preserving Joseph!

>>43282201

Surprising? Hmm, I was always interested to see how merciful Amelia turned out. When I started, I wondered if there would be some more aggressive decisions.

>>43282214

I have a few ideas here and there! Of course, I can't possibly comment on any future plot ideas.
>>
>>43282338
>And I thought some people might be irked by preserving Joseph!
Seemed like it was something she would if she was bringing people back, specially with how you rationalized it.

In what regard?

Are you going to be running another quest?
>>
>>43282405
>In what regard?

Now you mention it, I don't think I could point to a single specific incident. A little more willing to put up with fairy nonsense, perhaps?

>>43282442

I have several ideas actually. What I kind of want to run is a magical girl quest. There are already so many though!
>>
>>43282657
>A little more willing to put up with fairy nonsense, perhaps?
Believe me, there were times I wanted to just sic Heartless on Oberon, but patience and all that.

>What I kind of want to run is a magical girl quest. There are already so many though!
A tad over saturated yeah.

Speaking of magical girls, Amelia and Petra. You really liked that pairing huh? Had we met her way earlier I could have seen it happen in character, with Petra casually flirting with her and wearing down her defenses.

Also whats your favorite SMT game?
>>
>>43282657
Yeah several kinds from Sailor moon, to pre-cure, to generic names filed off, to post apocalyptic.

Although presentation > concept.
>>
>>43282657
>Dat spoiler
Ha! Well, I enjoyed this alot and it inspired me to go back to the old devil summoner games. Its been a fun ride so I definitely attend whatever you run next.

Any other possible quests your willing to share?
>>
>>43282763
>You really liked that pairing huh?

Guilty as charged. In retrospect, I wish I'd brought Petra back sooner, but I only really "got" her as a character towards the end.

>Favoite SMT game?

Nocturne, without a doubt, although I have a real soft spot for the Digital Devil Summoner games. It's pretty difficult to get some of the other ones in the UK though!

>>43282806

I don't mind mentioning my ideas. I had:
>Gaslight Investigation Quest: Paranormal investigation set in 1908. Largely inspired by pulp horror/sci-fi and serial dramas like Quatermass or old Doctor Who.
>Young Queen Quest: A young monarch thrust into a position of authority. Politics! However, I know someone else is running a princess style quest, so I don't want to step on their toes
>Miracle Girl Quest: Magical girl nonsense. Vague tarot card theme

Those are the concrete ideas I have at the moment, but I have a few others. Too vague to use yet though!
>>
>>43282940
>Digital Devil Summoner
I'm not sure that's right.
>>
>>43282940
So was the Outsider always just 'there' or was it another human who somewhat chose our path but chose
>The next link in the eternal chain
Instead?
>>
>>43282940
How about a stuck angel quest?
Where you a lowly angel are stuck in the mortal world via beaucratic snafu. Now you have to keep up a façade and hunt down rogue demons and devils causing trouble in the world. What will become of you little one? Will you grow to the meet the challenges in the creator's light, or will you fall along the wayside like so many others?
>>
>>43282940
Oh yeah speaking of angels, there was never enough time to do anything with Cass's 3.

Did you have any vague ideas on what to do with them?

Also what happened from Cass and Petra's perspective once we went into the keystone?
>>
>>43283018

The Outsider is, in essence, the descendant of the very first human to take the "third way". Over the countless cycles, they either convinced others to continue their version of the world or were replaced by others. The first Outsider had genuinely pure intentions, but over time they became something other than human
- more focused on control than freedom.

>>43283064

Cassandra's angels might have shielded her from the Death Flies attack, if Amelia hadn't intervened.
From Cass and Petra's perspective, they passed through the gate with Amelia, only to emerge from the front door of the Tower without her. Every time they passed through the gate, they just continued their own little cycle.

They never stopped repeating it. They never lost hope.
>>
>>43283149
So Amelia could end up like that then? Or did she avoid it due to saving her friends?
>>
>>43283149
What do you think would have happened had we found Mia earlier?
>>
>>43283024

Now you mention it, I sort of remember someone starting a quest with a similar concept. I think it was about an amnesiac angel. It's an interesting idea, and one I might use if I can think of a good twist or character arc for it.

>>43283173

I can't really comment too much on that yet, but Amelia typically picked a different path. Something totally new.
>>
>>43283223

We would have had a young girl to keep out of trouble! Honestly though, one possible outcome would have been to leave her in the fairy world, under Carnby's care. That was only a possibility though!
>>
>>43283290
How is Carnby? Has he heard what happened or does he have no way to know?
>>
>>43283311

Unfortunately, with the worlds now separated, there isn't any way for Carnby to learn what happened. Other than that, though, he's well. Many people in the other worlds speak of the "Scholar King" with respectful words!
>>
>>43283376
So he and Titania got hitched huh? It seemed that she genuinely liked him at the end. Did she?
>>
>>43283376
Oh god Titania is Amelia's stepmom!
>>
>>43283429

She did! There's something to be said for a simple, honest man - especially given Titania's history.

>>43283501
Couple things I've wanted to ask.

One is your dialogue style for the current PC. Where you kind of mesh interior monologue and external communication without the standard

>"Hello." you say.

Its different and I like it but, this is the first time I've ever seen something like that. What made you do it like that?

Second question was how short was Cass's hair? Was it like a buzzcut or just 'short' in relation to her longer hair she had at the start?
>>
>>43283794
>What made you do it like that?

Honestly? Total ignorance of how to write in second person perspective. This is the first time I've tried writing something like that!

Also, I pictures Cassandra's hair as being like a pixie cut. Mainly because I like that hairstyle!

Gotcha. Her and our pixie should have traded styling tips.

Probably just me, but I always imagined Amelia with a ponytail to complete the tomboy look even though there was nothing in the text to support that. Actually I think the only things you gave us were brunette and brown eyes, the rest was just imagination.

Personally, I enjoyed writing the entire full moon sequence. In a way, it felt pretty edgy, but I have a weakness for stuff like that. I've always "enjoyed" the idea of a protagonist alienating their allies out of sheer ruthlessness. It raises the issue of how much you're willing to sacrifice in pursuit of your aims.

Also, punching Mot's arm off was pretty damn metal.

>>
>>43285113

Nyarly had his own motivations from the start!
N essentially feeds off humanity's suffering, desire for chaos etc. A Law victory would greatly reduce such things, and a Chaos victory would greatly reduce mankind in general. So, N works with the Outsider to keep mankind complacent.
Of course, working with Amelia is pretty fun - and violent!

what's he think of the new world? and it not going to plan?
>>
>>43285298
Theres a kink somewhere that is causing Amelia to directly intervene. It sounds like she dealt with the New Way cult this time around as well.

>what stuff did you plan but never use?

I had vague ideas for Dagon rising up out of the Thames, but I couldn't think of a way to work it that didn't clash enormously with everything else.
Joseph getting an angelic form - like a divine Magatama - and being a full fight. In the end, I felt losing hope and dying a broken man was more... sympathetic maybe?
Those were the main things I never used. There were a few smaller ideas though.

As for the Outsider, I would have used the Old One as art. I reused it for the Labyrinth section though!

>>43285298
>not going to plan?

It's a world of indefinite duration, full of humans!
Everything went perfectly according to plan!
>>
>>43285384
Yes, but something threatens that plan of his now, which threatens him.

>Everything went perfectly according to plan!

Well we knew it wouldn't be perfect. After all, humans aren't.
>>
>>43285415

Ah, I misunderstood the question. Well, that all depends, really, on what Amelia meant by "not going to plan". I can't say much more than that at the moment, unfortunately!
>>
>>43285504
What's Petra's real name? She'd still have it in this new cycle.
>>
>>43285504
Does he still Follow Amelia and act as her 'debugger" i.e. Smash the crap out of angels, demons or devils trying to break da rules?
>>
>>43285547

Eirin Petrushka - although she still prefers to go by Petra. Dormant memories from the previous cycle, perhaps?

>>43285548

That is his current role, yes. Breaking all kinds of legs!
>>
>>43285682
Given Cass? Dormant memories are likely. Any other demons still working for us? Undine being a secretary?
>>
>>43285682
Any of our other demons stick with us or was Nyarly special in that regard. I mean it is Nyarly.
>>
What are Cass's chances of winning the Cubowl again?
>>
>>43285794
Probably like 99,9% due to dormant memories.
>>
>>43285724
>>43285727

Amelia, in her current state, is not technically a devil summoner. Nyarly obeys for now out of a personal preference. All her other demons have been released back into the wild.

Again, for now.

>>43285794

I give it good odds!
>>
>>43285842
Amelia's divinity wearing off and the natives are restless I take it?
>>
>>43285874
I hope it can't just 'wear off' but who knows? Well other than Moloch.
>>
>>43285842
So if all the characters have dormant memories what's Petra going to be like when she sees Amelia again?

Damn, good job Moloch. Really enjoyed this quest. Finished rather succinctly and quickly too, compared to most quests. You now possess more credibility and rep than most QMs. Felt like you let us guide the course of things and threw at us things we wanted without delving too much in the stupid fan service department. I like how everything came together.
>>
Was Demon Leon planned from the start, or did you throw us a bone because we kept talking about it?
>>
I am curious if we'll be playing as the three previous protagonists or we'll be a new MC seeing the Veterans from afar in the sequel quest.

It'll be interesting either way.
>>
>>43286051

That was an idea I had since the moment he died.

>>43286030
>You now possess more credibility and rep than most QMs

Wow, I appreciate the kind words, and I'm glad that you enjoyed it. This whole quest, in fact, has gone better than I had ever hoped!
>>
>>43286051
Playing as Leon in Harry's club is still my favorite moment from this entire quest. I would not have minded finding a way to make him part of the crew and playing as him from time to time.

I felt he could have been the Jayne to our Mal (Firefly) if we played our cards right.
>>
>>43286142
>Save Amelia
>Smash this fuckers face in!

>Everyone votes for smash.
Yeah it was great.
>>
>>43286136
Played like a damned fiddle.
>>
Well, let's see I've only played SMT 1 so comparing Amelia to SMT 1 Protag at the end:

SMT 1 protag killed his two best friends -- law fag and chaos fag.

Amelia killed two people who were barely acquaintances to her -- a chaos fag and a law fag.

SMT 1 protag's mother was eaten by a demon and his dad probably died in a flood.

Amelia's mother was eaten by a demon and her dad became king of the fairy world.

SMT 1 protag made it out of there with his demon-dog and his girlfriend.

Amelia made it out of there with two really good friends

Well, it was definitely in character!
>>
>>43286131
Wow bro, your older sister is badass.

Dah,
>>
>>43286373
playing as a new protag would be really cool. Whole new cast of characters with the other protags showing up. Sortta like Borderlands 2 with less memes if possible. Mite be cool
>>
>>43286586
>less memes if possible.
>Mite be cool
irony, I have witnessed

I could go either way, both have potential
>>
>>43286562
>We play as Petra's younger brother.

"Jeez sis, why are all over that brunette?"
>>
>>43286586
>less memes
Impossible. Our first mission will be to smuggle a demon dakimura
Wait isn't that what we did with Alice?
>>
>>43286646
More importantly why is that hot blond making out with a demon she just met 5 minutes ago?

>>43286674

I'd like to think that Cassandra would at least wait to be asked out on a date first!
>>
>>43286630
>>43286662

We can have memes, just less than borderlands 2. And hopefully Undine doesn't wear out her status as a joke character.

Moloch, who is the Claptrap of Devil Summoner quest?
>>
>>43286780
>I'd like to think that Cassandra would at least wait to be asked out on a date first!

Petra's bro was just jelly.
>>
>>43286848
>Moloch, who is the Claptrap of Devil Summoner quest?

You mean an annoying mascot character? I'm not sure actually. Oberon maybe?
I've never actually played Borderlands, so...
>>
>>43286851
Nah, he'd be in it for that divine protag action.

>brother and sister competing for same girl
....not sure if I would actually find it funny in practice.
>>
>>43286927
I feel like Forneus then. Because he was much more an attempt at lulz then Oberon
>>
>>43286929
Amelia has enough divine favor for both of them.

I also am not sure if I'd find it funny in practice.
>>
>>43286927
Claptrap is annoying and but important to the plot. He's a gag character, until he isn't. So yeah Oberon fits.. but Forneus would be better as>>43286949 pointed out.
>>43286929
All in the presentation. of course if he has a male friend I expect him to woo Morrigan just for balance.
>>
>>43286929

>>
>>43287016
Speaking of Morrigan, how surprised were you that we remembered her and tried to recruit her? A bit of a diversion or did you have it in mind previously?
>>
>>43287086
>Petra, did you kill a demon without trying to recruit it AGAIN?
>Laugh track
>>
On the subject of the next thread, though, I think I'll pencil in a rough date of next Friday. I should have suitable material prepared by then.

>>43287130

I'd had the idea to have Morrigan recruitable pretty much since she was defeated. I just forgot about her until later!
>>
>>43287149

>>43287149
Wow I didn't know it would be so soon. I'll be looking forward to it then.
