Important notes

>Casino gang – With Hestia’s guidance goblins and androids are reinforcing the gang. The weapons you are giving them have allowed them to more confidently control their turf. Rampant rumors are spreading about the lights people can see climbing upwards slowly. The gang nearly lost control of the situation on the highest levels, but with Vicky returning fully rested she was able to lead her men effectively enough to maintain control.

>Administration – Your presence has not gone unnoticed, patrols in the higher floors have been dramatically increased and the gangs holding turf in floors above three hundred are being crushed slowly but surely. Level 200 has been fully secured and the patrols have begun to evacuate the population on the levels between 250 and 299 forcing them downwards. Adaptive robots and other heavy weapons have been spotted amassing on the upper levels, the constant occupation has the populace wary.

Ayla floats about chatting with the people, now her subjects. They are quick to lavish her with praise, assure her of their loyalty and place the blame of the whole fight on the other side. As usual the djinni pointedly ignore you, even after your display of power ended their fighting. They remain uncomfortable that you exist, it breaks down their long standing hierarchy that a human be stronger than they are. Listening in to the chatter you learn that half the rebel forces were stationed in each of the twin cities, so it is likely that this event is playing out at Jabulqa as well. If it happens like it did hear the militia forces there are going to be baited into an ambush and crushed.


Suddenly the sound of a trees snapping catches your attention. You watch as the giant lizard slowly and methodically snaps the trunks of trees, then drags the tree off to build a platform. The final result looks like a lean-to that is about to collapse at any moment.

“Bask,” the lizard says as it clambers on top of the makeshift structure and begins to soak up the sun’s rays.

Several nearby djinn are shocked that a lizard is talking, but just chalk it up to the lizard being the Shahbadu’s pet and ignore it.

You can hear the crying of the trees that the lizard broke, so you heal them, setting the snapped trunks back into condition to regrow without any issues. Then you turn to the lizard’s shaky wooden construction, using your command of earth you will stone to rise and support the trees. Then you guide and heal the trees to grow back into the ground. The end result is solid and the trees should continue to live well into the future.


Then you climb the structure, making yourself not cast a shadow on the lizard, and join it in its basking. After a few minutes of lazing in the sun Izulu grows jealous and begins pestering you over the mental link for attention too. Willing more stone to rise from the ground you create a perch for her to join in the basking fun and Izulu immediately swoops down to the perch, buffeting the area with wind and electricity. She ruffles and feathers and puffs up as she lazes beside you and the lizard in the warm and gentle sun.

Sometime later you are snapped out of your basking by the feeling of Ayla settling down in your lap.

“Everyone was super nice, but I don’t know what to do with these last few that stayed,” Ayla whispers to you as she cuddles against your body, she feels a bit cold compared to the pleasant warmth the sun has built up on you.


Looking out over the battle field you see that the militia and rebels have already dispersed, only the leaders of the two groups remain. The militia leader notices your gaze and smiles at you suggestively, you can smell the scent of her true nature begin to waft through the air as she shifts to become more beautiful.


The rebel leaders, except one, look at you with disgust for even being near Ayla. Despite their disapproval they are not going to say anything, yet.


“Have you resolved your issues now?” You ask them

The rebel leaders ignore your question until Ayla looks over to them, then they all quickly nod.

“Certainly, the militia was formed to support our Shahbadu, if she desires peace then we shall no fight,” the militia leader says, the thick scent emanating from her is unmistakable now.

“That’s right, and they are going to help free all the slaves too,” Ayla tells you happily.


“We respectfully continue to beg the Shahbadu to reconsider this position,” one of the rebel leaders says, “the slave races are inferior, they should be grateful to serve us.”

“One of my friends don’t like slavery, so no more slavery in Djinnistan, I already explained this before,” Ayla replies.


The djinn are clearly not happy about this as slavery has been a long tradition for them.

“The militia was causing chaos and misery, we were unsure if the Shahbadu was real or a trick from that thing,” one of the rebel leaders offers.


“These rebels deny the Shahbadu, they even tell this to you, we simply attempt to throw off their rule as commanded,” the militia leader says.


They are sticking to their stories, adamant that the other is at fault.

“Who is commanding you?” you ask the militia leader.

“My father,” is all she says.


You are about to ask who her father is, but you shuffle through the memories you stole looking for anything that may be relevant. The scent of frankincense and myrrh she gives off indicated to you before that she is a ghul. So by father she could be speaking of Iblis.


“What about the other rebels, how large are their forces?” You ask the rebel leaders.

“In Jabulqa their forces are easily twice the size of ours here since we started there, so any militia uprisings should already be put down,” One of the rebels taunts the militia woman.

You turn to the Militia leader and Ayla wraps an arm around your neck pulling herself closer to you. Ayla has been getting more possessive of you as the militia leader has been slowly trying to entice you.


“Why does this interest Iblis, what is his part in what is happening?” You ask the militia leader, and her seduction ends abruptly.


She shifts to a horribly ugly form, the corruption and evil is palpably radiating from her now. She cackles, and flashes you a smile of sharp and jagged teeth. She immediately begins to fade away, teleporting to another place.

“You are too clever for a human pet but make no mistake my father knows what you’ve done,” she growls at you before completely vanishing, “when he takes the Shahbadu as one of his wives you will be the first to die.”


There is a deathly calm after the ghul’s warning.


“We will protect you Shabadu, even if we do disagree the evil of Iblis cannot be allowed to spread across Djinnistan,” the rebels are united more by their repulsion of Iblis than any particular loyalty.


“We need to go to Jabulqa, to end any fighting that may be going on there,” you tell Ayla.

“We will remain behind and secure the city of Jabulsa for you Shahbadu, at your command we will root out the followers of Iblis!” The rebels are truthfully trying to be helpful now.


Ayla isn’t so sure after seeing them fighting and looks to you for guidance.

“It would be best if you just choose whatever it is you really want,” you tell Ayla.

“I want what you want though master,” Ayla echoes across the familiar link.

“You may locate but not harm them,” Ayla decides, “only punishments allowed by law shall be given out, but please do not kill anyone.”

Looking into the memories you’ve taken you see that the most common punishment is to kill the followers of Iblis by repeated lashes. Ayla may need to work with the legal code later to conform it to her desires, you can already see the rebels grappling with how to navigate her orders.

“Ah, of course Shahbadu, you wish for them to be alive to question later we understand,” one of the rebels comes to a conclusion, and nudges the others into action. They bow and fall back, escaping to the city before Ayla gives them more confusing commands.


Looking at your map again you see that the twin city while far by human standards should be no further than the edge of the horizon. Looking off in the distance you can’t see it over the trees, so you use your powers to float up into the air and once you reach the height of the tallest towers in the city of Jabulsa you can see its twin Jabulqa off in the distance.


“Why don’t we have a race to Jabulqa?” you ask your familiars, trying to see how much their power has increased.

Ayla separates from you and flies off towards the city quickly.

“Cheat!” Izulu exclaims and takes to the air, her speed allows her to catch up to Ayla very fast.

Izulu’s superior flying ability is hindered by Alya’s control over the wind and the two battle their way through the race to Jabulqa. The lizard remains immobile on the basking platform.

“Bask better than race,” the lizard comments its answer is more in half formed images sent across the familiar link than words.

The lizard is right, but you suppose you better win or prizes will be demanded, so you use all your powers combined to catch up with Ayla and Izulu, Just focusing an area of intense gravity in front of you is enough to quickly rocket towards them. You take it easy when you catch them, just riding the winds and trying to fly by expelling pure fire, but Ayla and Izulu decide to team up to win against you. Izulu flies carrying Ayla while Ayla tries to counter your elemental control.

“Sorry master, but obviously the winner gets a wish right?” Ayla asks, “So we can’t let you win.”


You allow them to gain distance, then just bend the light around you to create an area of darkness. Embraced by the shadows you step across to just outside the city of Jabulqa.


At Jabulqa there are no sounds of fighting just bodies strewn across a field. None of them are dead, but their mana is severely depleted causing their bodies to reform slowly if at all. Every one you see is militia, not a single rebel soldier is among their numbers. You summon the lizard to your side, it isn’t happy about losing its basking position though. By the sound of thunder Izulu and Ayla will arrive soon.

You brush against the minds of the fallen djinn searching for the followers of Iblis, intent not to heal them.

You find that the majority of the militia is tainted by some evil, the degree of the taint is different between each individual but its presence is unable to hide from you.


In an instant you extend your domain over the battlefield and the bodies of the fallen. Trying something new you sever the taint and purge it from the djinn, purifying them all. The most tainted ones howl in pain as you break the hold Iblis has over them. The foul taint attempts to fight back, a cloud of smokeless black fire rises up from the bodies of the djinn and hovers in the air.


Ignoring it for a moment you heal everyone, filling them with strength and life so that the taint is unable to infect them again while within your domain. When Izulu and Ayla come flying back down to meet up with you as soon as they cross the threshold of your domain the black flames condense and reshape into a humanoid form.


“Human you have stolen from me, now I take my revenge,” the figure barks at you. Then it transforms into a bolt of lightning targeted directly at Ayla.

“No, you will not take her from me,” you say, and you find yourself in front of Alya without having moved.


A sphere of gravity collapses into a black hole and catches the black lightning bolt. You crush the taint of Iblis away into nothingness.


With the evil destroyed, you turn back to the djinn and as they finish pulling themselves up you force them to be completely loyal to both Ayla and yourself, having just witnessed you just exorcising everyone of evil and healing them all not even the stronger more cognizant djinn are aware of your compulsion.

“What happened here?” You ask a small group of djinn who are watching Ayla from afar, startling them into focus.

“The rebels ambushed us, waiting for us to target one of their patrols outside the city and then attacking with their full force,” the djinn explain to you.

“And why was nearly everyone cursed by Iblis?”


“Fool my voice reaches all,” a voice whispers past you ear.


“There are many who fall to his evil, we all do our best to live in virtue,” one of the djinn says.

“Where are the rebels now?”

“They have taken residence within the palace, it should be easy enough for you to find,” the djinn say, “do you and the Shahbadu require a guide?”

“A guide will do nicely, with the lizard and Izulu we need to go quickly to the palace before attracting too much attention,” you agree to take a guide, “but first tell me where does Iblis live exactly, I may want to travel there myself.”

The djinn look at each other with confusion, “Iblis travels wherever he wants, perhaps by home you mean Jahannam?”

Checking with your stolen memories you know that they are referring to hell, you’ve been through several parts of hell now and have not met Ilbis, perhaps you need to travel deeper.


Before the djinn disperse you announce, “You have been freed from the grasp of Iblis, do not waste this second chance.”


You then gather up your familiars to travel into the city with your drafted guide. You pay no attention to the guide introducing themselves and instead pull out some things to give to Ayla and Izulu.

“Here a gift for your race,” you say handing Izulu the eagle and bead bracelets.

Izulu makes a happy chirping sound and pulls at her beak again, the transformation is smoother this time, rather than exploding in a burst of electricity, she simply glides down to the ground in human form.

“Master best!” Izulu says as she takes the bracelets from you. She puts them both on and happily jiggles the beads about before hugging you. As her soft feather like hair brushes against you something about how Iblis tried to take Ayla makes you feel a bit possessive so you take out one of the tribal amulets and gently place it around Izulu’s neck, even if she is just a familiar she is yours. After you do so you notice that the bone amulet is faintly glowing, you feel your own amulet gently resonating with it.


Ayla sees Izulu embracing you and hugs the two of you then she asks, “What about me master?”

“I have something for you too Ayla,” you say and give her the two pendants you bought In Amberabad.

“Hmm, two, both the same,” Ayla mumbles before giggling, “Oh I know just what to do with these! Thank you master!~”

After leaving the guide to uncomfortably suffer though the gift giving you pull the two girls onto the lizard to ride on your way into the city.


“Tell me all you can about Iblis while we walk,” you tell the guide.


The information the guide offers isn’t much better than the memories you took from the djinni noble. Iblis is bad, very bad, it is his influence that causes everything bad that people do. He seems to be able to travel from hell to earth freely, perhaps finding him will give an alternate path for you until the djinn restore the tunnels through the Mountains of Qaf.


The guide takes you through the emerald city on the fastest path to the palace avoiding the building crowds of djinn, and now slaves who stream onto the streets trying to catch a glimpse of Ayla.

“Here, the palace I am unworthy to enter, so I must leave you now,” the guide says before fading into the crowds.


The guide has left you standing before brilliant emerald gates protected by several guards.

“Ayla you should talk with them a bit, spread your message a bit and bring hope to the people,” you tell Ayla, “since you are the ruler now you have to guide them.”


As Ayla begins her speech to the crowd you manipulate the elements to enhance what she is doing. Her usual rhetoric of being nice to phoenixes and freeing the slaves goes over badly as always, but she pulls it together with her new plan of resisting Iblis. You feel that you are very likely to be drawn into open conflict with Iblis after this speech. The crowd though is ecstatic, freedom from the looming evil forever more than makes up for needing to cater to phoenixes and slave races for a while.

The crowd intently listens to Ayla for some time, eventually though she gets bored of talking to them and she starts eyeing the crowd for interesting people. That is when you rope her back in to reality and finish approaching the gates.


“Let use pass, Shahbadu Ayla has come to speak with the rebellion’s leaders,” you tell the guards.

Having witnessed the speech themselves, they don’t argue at all and open the gates for your group to pass. One of the guards breaks off from his post to guide you deep into the palace, he hands you off to another group of guards protecting the interior before heading back to his post.

“Master, did you see how those people have pointy ears,” Ayla asks while growing her ears into points, “We should bring them all back home, then they can be free like the other slaves.”

“Those were elves and they would probably prefer going to their own home if they remember it,” you tell her.

“Aww lets just keep them instead, we don’t even know how to get to their home.”


Ayla argues the virtues of just taking all the slaves from Djinnistan and relocating them to the goblin city. While Hestia could provide enough food and housing you are not sure that this is the ideal solution for the situation. The giant lizard and Izulu get annoyed at the narrowing inner corridors and leave you and Ayla alone. They attempt to find outside again as quickly as possible as you continue your way to the rebels.


You arrive in a war room, the rebellion’s remaining leaders are all sitting around a table discussing what to do about the announcement of a new Shahbadu.


Your unexpected arrival has caught them totally unprepared, and they scramble to change the topic when your groups presence is noticed.

Before doing anything else, you probe their minds still open to you from the last time you brainwashed them. Now that you know what to look for you exorcise the taint of Iblis from the five rebellion leaders. The smokeless black fire that rises from the djinn is far smaller in quantity than what you pulled from the majority of the militia outside. Before the foul energy can do anything you destroy it. Then you allow Ayla to take point since she is supposed to be the ruler here.


“Hello, I’m Ayla, Shahbadu of Djinnistan now!” She announces and waves to the rebels.

They immediately salute and drop to deep bows.

“We have heard that you defeated our twin force , we acknowledge you Shahbadu Ayla and surrender to your infinite mercy,” one of the leaders decides to say.


Ayla is not entirely sure what to do to go forward with this meeting.


“Ask about the rebel army, then make them disband, all the armies should reorganized under your control,” you tell Ayla over the familiar link helping her along a bit.


“How many rebels are there?” Ayla asks them.

“We command a fighting force of fifty thousand here in Jabulqa, our brothers in arms are still building support in Jabulsa with only twenty thousand men,” One of the rebels answers, “we also hold many workers and slaves.”

“No more slaves, let them be free,” Ayla says, and since she seems to have everything under control you start messing with your powers a bit adjusting the lighting of the room and projecting illusions of light.

You keep everything out of Ayla’s view and stick with elements outside her control, but the rebels notice the strange occurrences.


“Shahbadu that would fly in the face of tradition and destroy the economy!” Another of the rebels pleads.

“Yes it will be hard at first, but I’ll just ask my robot friend to help, she is good at these things,” Ayla tells them. By now she sees that the rebels are acting weird and tries to look around for the cause but you remain calm and act like nothing is happening whenever she looks to you.


“I think that it would be good for your people to not be fighters anymore,” Ayla says, “I will build a new army and those who wish to join can freely do so.”

“Yes Shahbadu, we hear and obey! We will reorganize under your flawless leadership,” the djinn rebels say.


Ayla spins about and glares at you, then smiles before talking across the familiar link so only you can hear, “I know you were doing something, I can feel the mana being disturbed.”


“Good then we will build up from the cities of Amberabad, Jabulqa and Jabulsa first so please work together with them first,” Ayla commands the rebels, “once our people are safe, happy and free we can send envoys to other cities.”


The rebels bow again and leave you and Ayla behind with just the guards as they quickly rush to uphold Ayla’s commands.

The flaming fire’s mouth opens unleashing a swarm of locusts. The insects are made of smokeless black fire just as their summoner is, and they fly towards Ayla and the djinn guards. Ayla tries to defend by blasting them with mana arrows but her magic is seemingly absorbed by the creatures.


You spare the few moments needed to cut down the entire swarm of vile insects, their bodies are destroyed upon contact with your blade. With Ayla safe you slash at the figure, it attempts to block your attack with its own manifested blade of evil. While successful the blade slips past the figure’s guard and cuts a deep gash deep into its body, the holy energy burns away vast parts of its body.

You ignore the figure’s taunting and watch as Ayla leads the Djinn, she has managed to evacuate the unconscious purified minions and recall the guards to the palace. You doubt inside will be any safer but you can worry a bit less about them now.


The figure grows an extra two pairs of arms, and generates an evil blade in all of its extra hands, six vile swords slice through the air as the figure spins them about. It rushes forward attempting to cut you with at least one sword.

Your speed is much greater than the figure of black flame so you are able to block the six swords with your single blade. For some reason you decide that your power is so bright that you have to wear shades. You focus your immense will and bend reality to fit your whims and a pair of aviators, they radiate with pure holy energy and light which probably makes them completely ineffective but they are the first pair of shades you’ve seen in forever so they’ll do.


With your style maximized you perform a brutal overhead strike, but the figure uses its six swords to block the strike. Unfortunately for it you are already behind it, you second slash cuts the figure in half from head to toe.


Your holy sword vaporizes the figure from the middle of its body and the evil of the taint fades away.


“Until next time human,” a voice whispers to you, its laughter fades slowly.


“Bask,” the giant lizard says and quickly slithers its way near you now that the evil of the Iblis’ taint has faded away.

“Master bright sun,” Izulu agrees with the lizard, you notice that these two are not the only ones to arrive, more guards follow behind them, swords drawn as if expecting a fight.


Ayla is telling the djinn guards something but you get distracted by the giant lizard trying to bask on top of you since you are currently glowing brightly.

The lizard seems to be confusing you for a local source of warm light. It is visibly disappointed when you return to normal, and it leaves you behind without even a single word as it goes to find a better place to bask. The djinn guards stow their weapons when they see that the glow was just you, they talk amongst themselves about how impressive the Shahbadu is for taming a saint. Half of the guards break away to follow the lizard and the rest remain behind watching you and Izulu.

You sense that the captain of the guard is himself heavily tainted by Iblis, so his insistence to kill the purified shaitans is probably Iblis’ command. You bring your will against the captain of the guard and clear the taint from him, it’s getting easier and easier to do so now that you understand exactly how it digs into the victims every purification makes the next faster. A puff of smokeless black fire is destroyed by your holy energy as the other djinn watch cautiously.


“There, he should listen to you over Iblis now Ayla,” you tell her.

“Thanks master, now I have to figure out what to do here I’ll let you explore alone,” Ayla tells you.

“Inside small, Izulu not explore,” Izulu calls out to you from the door, she still is uncomfortable without the sky overhead. She morphs back into a giant thunderbird and flies away leaving you alone for a while.

As you wander the palace you come upon some old libraries the djinn rulers of the past jealously horded knowledge, but today that ancient wisdom now lies under thick layers of dust. Within the library you find an old scroll that seems to magical, when you touch it the scroll falls from the stand and unrolls. The magical script rises from the page when you read it, but instead of imbuing you with power it stops and returns to the scroll. The scroll then rolls back up allowing you to take it.

The rest of the library’s books are all non-magical and mostly falling apart, the djinn have not taken very good care of the books and dry rot is rampant.


You leave the library and explore the palace some more. You come across a small corridor that leads off into pitch black darkness, you can see down the corridor just fine so you take a chance and explore it too.

There are columns lining the sides of this corridor seem ominous, the emerald seems to absorb all light and the sound of your steps are muffled by magical silence. At the end of the corridor five statues stand around a simple pedestal. The pedestal holds a book titled ‘The fall of Azazel’ It details the life of a particularly powerful djinn who turned to evil and how now as the whisperer Iblis he guides others to evil. While not particularly helpful or interesting, under the book the pedestal has been engraved with a message, ‘the statues hold power equal to that of Azazel, taking one will destroy the others so choose wisely.’

The statues are all labeled virtue, wisdom, trust, peace and honor. You take the statues, all of them at the same time. A foul taint from Iblis is triggered by your transgression, but your holy energy destroys it before it can affect you at all. The statues begin to glow brightly and with a mighty flash of light you are left with a single statue. When you touch the statue now labeled power, the stone crumbles away leaving nothing but dust and a large faceted emerald orb.
