I hear the clanking of metal and Minor yelping again as I walk down the street, I probably should tell someone I killed those goblins...Me and sam killed those goblins, I mean I'm not sure if they knew they were there, but it's probably best if I do, just in case they decide to come looking for revenge, at least this way they won't suspect I was planning something nasty or led them here on purpose

I look back, to see if Minor is done digging through her bag. All I see is an empty leaf covered street, lined by a couple of houses, one of which has an old man sitting on the steps...he might just be dead, I'm not really sure to be honest, he isn't really moving but I don't know, why am I think about this kind of stuff.

"GET AWAY FROM MY FORGE!!!" I hear the blacksmith shout, making me jump nearly out of my skin

Oh, well there she is, well at least she's annoying some one I hate, if nothing else.

Well if she's doing good or at least acting as a vector of my spite towards that racist fuck, I better make sure my other two friends aren't killing eachother.

Or rather make sure that sam isn't strangling Lucy to death. and after that, make sure that Minor isn't being murdered by the blacksmith.

I sigh, and walk towards the off white inn with the apple sign outside off it. The doors swing open as a stout man is tossed out into the street, covered in what looks like vomit, too much to just be the on.

I walk around him as he groans, whimpering as he curls up into a ball. I manage to get through the doors before they close.

I smile as I look around the packed shop, filled with drunk players, people who have to be confused npcs or maybe players as well, can't tell, but they're human so they're probably npcs.

And then I hear the laughing. I turn and see Sam, half bent over a table, trying to grab a bottle from Lucy, who's smiling smugly as she holds it above his head, just out of his reach.

I put my hands on my hips, trying to not tolaugh.

The metal of the blade shines in the light of the midmorning sunshine, plolished to a shine. I run my hand down it. seeing the words "Friend" carved into it. There's a weird second guard thing a bit over the first one, the metal past that not really sharpened, I guess I can grab there to thrust it forward?

The actual guard is a bit wider than usual, made of the same metal as the blade, with the initials, MM carved into. the pommel is wrapped in oiled leather dyed blue, and the pommel is in the shape of an eye.

I whistle as I look it over, the blade feeling warm...alive. Hungry...the metal's darker than I expected actually

Minor smiles happily, and grabs the hand holding the eye patch, unwrapin it to reveal a metal eye patch

I smile as she smiles happily.

"How much?" I ask

"Oh just hand it over, I want to celebrate being me, and together with you guys" I say as I pull the cork off, a bluish mist rising from the bottle.

I hold it up as Minor and Lucy ope their bottles.

She hits the floor with a loud thud, a groan and a pained whimper. The elf's dress or robes as she prefers to call it falling with her

And the inn filled with laughs and cheers, and one voice crying in the middle of it as the tainted fell asleep on the floor

Basically, the scourge of light reawoke, and that meant bad things for everyone and everything, so every nation and race on Da'ta worked together to push it back

It could best be described as World war 1 trench warfare, with demons, undead, giant bug monsters and other fucked up shit

A whole lot of people died in the attempt to reclaim it, and it was only called off recently, when the king and council of the seven decided they could not keep fighting it, and such sealed the way to kerlarn in incredibly strong holy magic

Tainted are those who managed to some how crawl back without being insane or monsters

In game
it was an end game quest chain supposed to be finished next patch
where heros band together to fight off the taint and scourge of light

so there are several max level players stuck in there
