Well, seems like we got a timeskip.

Under your two teachers, you make great strides in your training. With your chakra control, mastery of basic medical ninjutsu comes fairly quickly and you move on to Tsunade's special chakra enhancement strike technique. It takes far more training than any medical jutsu, but you eventually do learn it. You aren't able to master it to the same extent as Sakura, but during the course of your training you become physically stronger than her to make up the difference.

Your regimen under Kakashi focuses on improving the use of all your jutsu. You refine your taijutsu technique, while making genjutsu less of a vulnerability. Your ninjutsu and hand seals also improve slightly.

Over the course of the year you've been given, you devote nearly all of your time to training. You never do go off to train with Konohamaru under Enma, but by the end of this training period you're sure that both of you are ready. You two will likely be able to go at your next long training opportunity. Itachi also sees fit to promote you to Jonin in this time. You're the only one in your class to have attained the rank.

He was leading teams, but that's what chunin do. Jonin are the "elite", with their own headquarters and everything. And Shikamaru was never a unit leader in the combined forces. Gaara let him lead in his place when he was otherwise personally engaged.

I think the idea is that we went for better proficiency in the ones we do have rather than expanding the arsenal. Which makes sense, canon definitely seems to back up the idea that having a few jutsu you're killer at is more effective than having a bunch you're only competent with. That said, I would like to have learned at least one other wind and lightning jutsu, each.

We should see if our summoned Monkey can transform into a mask to buff us in some way when we get a chance.

We also need to learn bojutsu at some point, the Adamantine Staff is too awesome a weapon for us not to use. And it's not like Konohamaru's going to be using it anytime soon, we've got at least another four or five years before we'd have to worry about conflicting summons for Enma (unless the Staff's power to divide means he can be in both places at once...), so it should be fine. And an Impact-enhanced boosted strength blow from a staff of indestructible metal should be enough to hurt anything.

Before it gets too late, you decide to make one more stop. Tenten's mention of Haku got you curious, so you want to see exactly what's become of him yourself.

You say goodbye to Konohamaru and his teammates and head to the Yamanaka residence. Outside, Ino is closing up.

"Hey Kon, haven't seen you in a while." Ino greets you. You tell her that you're here to see Haku, and she leads you back behind her house. There, Haku is training.

Tenten was right, Haku has become strong. He's practicing swinging the huge sword with a single arm at a time. You couldn't have imagined him doing such a thing before, but his arms are clearly much more muscled than you remember. Though they are still slender enough that the contrast with his face is not too jarring.

"Isn't he amazing?" Ino sighs. "Not only has he gotten so strong, but he's kept his gorgeous looks! He's so perfect!"

Haku, drenched in sweat, notices you approach and takes a break.

"Hello there, Kon." Haku greets you with a smile. "It's been a long time. I hope you're doing well."
