He leads you out into the halls of the Academy which are by far and large empty as everyone waits in the cafeteria for the moment when they finally 'choose' their Masters. He turns to you and hesitates for a moment, attempting to collect his thoughts before he speaks.

"My life... has been laid out for me. A simple path to follow which would lead me to an easy comfortable life apprentices under my father, as is my right as a son of a Sith... or so I thought. From the first day you have stood in bold and uncaring defiance to everything I thought I knew about the galaxy, a slave to rose to outdo me at every bend and turn. It sickened me. And yet, I am forced to admit I am better for it. It pushed me, it drove me. I did not need to be better then you to succeed at the Academy, it could have been easy, most of the other Apprentices would have been beneath me. Yet I know that my drive to surpass you has made me more powerful now then I would have been had I been indifferent. I do not have friends here. There was only ever you. In a way I suppose I am trying to thank you, and to tell you I have chosen to follow the less traveled path. Regardless of what Master you choose I am certain eventually we will meet each other again. But know that I will not stop climbing until I have surpassed you Xanth."

He voice starts slow and shaky, but as he grows in conviction his voice evens out and gains clarity. When he is finished he looks you in the eyes, a fire lit within them as he challenges you.

The silence is broken by the sound of heels clicking sharply against the ground of the hallway, causing you both to turn instinctively. Master Xalia's quick pace comes to a halt as she sees the two of you, her nearly mute expression never changing as she addresses you.

He sentences are quick and curt, and she immediately regains her stride and moves past you once she has spoken. You and Rodrik turn and share a look before nodding. For most this ceremony was a formality. For you two and Nivah, it was possibly the most important decision in your lives.

Rodrik takes his first few steps toward the entrance hall before turning to you.

You explain your discussion with Rodrik and the two of them chuckle and Cael'la comments on the fact that it was about time you had a positive relationship with another man. Nivah grasps your hand and grips it tightly. No words are spoken, but in truth none are truly needed for the two of you, you both know how the other feels about the situation, and instead of dwelling you try to be close for as long as you can. The mass of apprentices swell forth and you more forward together as a massive group, chattering and worrying as a collective.

At last you reach the entrance hall and it fills quickly. The halls overlooking the hall are filled with potential Masters who look down upon the hall. Master Korr takes his place at the front of the hall and his voice cuts through the ambient noise.

"The time has come, my young Apprentices. The final chapter in your lives at the Academy and the first chapter of your lives as true Sith. You have all down well. When I call your name you will step forward and announce the name of your intended Master to the galaxy. Your Master will step forward, officially claiming you as their Apprentice and you will be given your first lightsaber. No more speeches. No more frivolity. This is your moment."

He says.

Names are listed off slowly, with the weaker Apprentices seemingly being called first so the anticipation of the true choices can well. No more frivolity indeed. Each lightsaber gives is different, seemingly a reflection of the Master who presents it, from the simple, to the stylized, to the outright gaudy.

At last you hear the first name that matters to you called.

Her grip upon your hand tightens immensely and she silently looks to you.

She says falling to one knee. With almost feline grace a man fall from one of the halls above, cushioned by the force. He is tall and lanky, with shaggy wild hair pulled back into a but and with a a long beard. Despite his unkempt appearance he possesses a presence, a palpable charisma about him and his smile comes easily to him.

"Nivah, I accept you as my Apprentice. May you flourish as a diplomat under my watchful gaze."

His voice is smooth and deep, yet you feel a chill run down your spine. He presents to her a small box within which Nivah pulls out a simple silver handled lightsaber. While difficult to see you note intricate patterns along it's handle. She nods and smiles before returning to your side. The proceedings continue at a stead pace, Cael'la receives her own saber from Darth Sombra, a short but agile Twi'lek woman, Cael'la's saber is a sleek black model made for a purpose as opposed to for appearances. Rodrik surprises everyone but you when he announces that he will be serving under Darth Nagus of Military Strategy instead of under his father.

You take it and open it box. Within are two lightsaber hilts, one is black as the night itself, it almost intimidated you, with a sleek and form fitting design that fits well into your hand. The other is white as snow, something you've only ever heard of, while similar is design you are more comforted by this hilt.

Darth Incarnus says slowly motioning to the white hilt.

He finishing referring to the black.

He turns and strides off confidently, triumphant. In the corner of your eyes you see Darth Carn and Darth Languish and elsewhere you see Lilus. Both potential Masters seem disappointed but none seem slighted... aside from Darth Languish herself. You feel a cold chill run through you, but you decide now is not the time to dwell on such things. You return to the crowd and Master Korr addresses you all once more.
