His attack blocked, the tall man in red now stands before your group, eyeing you warily. Kurotsuchi tells you that he is Han, Jinchuuriki of the five tailed beast.

"This guy looks steamed, Sensei." Sai mutters to Guy. "He must have a rocky relationship with the Stone Village."

Containing his laughter, Guy approaches Han and explains the situation with the Akatsuki and the tailed beasts as he did to Roshi.

"Why did you have to go and attack us anyway?" Kurotsuchi asks, as Guy finishes. "If it wasn't for Kon's jutsu, you'd have run us all down. Not exactly a friendly greeting."

"I have no desire to meet with anyone." Han tells you all. "If anyone attempts to approach me in this forest, I scare them off. By force, if it serves my purpose in deterring their return. Solitude is my prime concern. I would no sooner seek other's protection than I would let myself fall victim to these 'Akatsuki'."

"It's not recognition that I seek." Han says. "We are already recognized as the village's most powerful living weapons. They point us in a direction, and tell us to destroy. But I want none of it. I came to the forest seeking a life of peace and quiet. I don't need other people for that. If you insist, bring Roshi here. But no one else."

Han turns and walks away, clearly not in the mood to talk further.

You've managed to convince the two Jinchuuriki to stay together though, so that's a start.

On the return trip to the mountains, Kurotsuchi chats you up.

"That release of yours was pretty neat, Kon." she tells you. "You wouldn't happened to have inherited that would you? I've never seen it before. I'm very curious, having a kekkei genkai myself. I like seeing the various techniques they let people use."

"So you talked it out with Han, then?" Roshi asks. "If he's alright with the arrangement, I'll go immediately."

Guy Sensei assures that he is, then you lead Roshi back to the forest Han is staying in.

"It's been a long time, Han." Roshi says once he arrives. "I hope you don't mind my company too much."

"We both like to keep to ourselves." Han replies. "I doubt there will be much issue. Will that be all from you, Leaf ninja?"

"The village has been sending people out to check on us quite frequently." Roshi tells you. "I see Kurotsuchi there spying on me every once in a while. I'm sure the village will know before we could tell them."

After being assured that they will be fine, your group leaves and returns to the Stone Village.

"You guys can all relax for a bit." Guy Sensei tells you. "I'm going to be talking some more with the Stone's higher ups."

Kurotsuchi addresses you. "You know Kon, if you want to meet your family, now would be the time."

God, I really hope that Naruto doesn't wind up being the container of the Tailed Beasts instead of the Juubi's corpse. I don't think Obito would do that, but with how much the timeline has changed I don't know what to expect anymore, and it fits the "dark Naruto swears revenge against village" fanfic trope we're going with for him. Naruto with multiple Tailed Beasts worth of power would be awful to deal with, even if it turns out that him being such a douchebag in this timeline means he never befriends them and gains free access to their power like he does in canon. He'd probably just embrace the demonic aspect, anyway. At least we can reasonably assume that he'll never get a Six Paths power-up, so that slightly reduces how painful the inevitable final boss is going to be.

"Alright, Kon." Kurotsuchi addresses you. "You should know that these guys aren't like your usual clan. They don't have any fancy ways you're supposed to act or anything, they're as boisterous as they come. They're all a bunch of tough guys, so try not to get overwhelmed."

Kurotsuchi knocks on the door, and it opens immediately. It's a tall man that looks very similar to your father's picture, but with his hair spiking out like an explosion. He looks at you in confusion for a few seconds before Kurotsuchi speaks up.

"Katsuki, this is Kon." she says. "He's your nephew."

Katsuki's eyes light up, and grabs you around your shoulders with his arm.

"I knew you looked familiar!" he laughs. "You look just like my little brother when he was younger! How are you, my boy?" the man asks, as he continues to shake you violently.

"Hey everybody!" Katsuki yells. "We've got a long lost Bakutsugi right here! My nephew Kon!"

Several kids leap up and start crowding around you, asking questions that you can't quite make out over the noise. Most of the adults also come over and crowd around you, reaching for your hand for a handshake, or to grab your shoulder. You notice that several older clan members don't get up, and don't even seem to bother glancing in your direction.

"Alright, alright!" Katsuki yells. "Don't crowd the boy too long, now. We'll have plenty of time to catch up over dinner!"

The clan cheers, and most members start to head to the dining hall next door.

"Lively bunch, aren't they, Kon?" Katsuki asks. "I tell you, it's so good to see you. I haven't heard nothing from Katsuo since he up and left the village all those years ago. Well, let's eat. Kurotsuchi, you're welcome to join us."

You all enter the dining hall and have a seat at the massive table. After everyone gets served, Katsuki turns to you.

The problem with the lance is that it's got great penetration but terrible energy transfer. It will punch right through the target but do no more damage, so unless it's a major organ like the brain or heart it's not going to do too much. Kidomaru, Kimimaro, Kakuzu (huh, just noticed that all of the people Kon fights have K names. As does he. Weird), they all showed that if it doesn't kill the target in one hit it's not going to even slow them down much. What we need is some sort of bursting charge, a blast that initially pierces but then releases a shockwave once it's entered the target's body. Something like the Rasengan, actually, with a tightly contained bolus of chakra that we can use the Heavenly Lance itself to propel at the target.

I tried to keep his spirits up, tell him that once I was the clan head, things would change, but he always felt like he was in my shadow, I think. He eventually decided to set off on his own, and left the village. I always wished he had stayed. Maybe he'd still be alive today. But I suppose you wouldn't exist then, would you? The quicklime rips apart from the force of the blast, and the boulder underneath is launched across the training ground.

"Impressive." Kurostuchi tells you. "Between those and your barrier, I'd say you've got quite the release there, Kon. And I bet there's all sorts of things you could learn to do with it. You'll have to let me help you come up with something. It could be fun."

"My turn!" Katsuki walks forward. "Explosion Release is pretty straightforward. It makes things explode!"

Katsuki punches the ground, and it causes the entire training ground in front of him shatter and upheave itself.

"And that's it!" Katsuki laughs. "We can blow up anything. The ground, trees, rocks, people, you name it! If we put our chakra into it, it's a bomb!"

Though at some point we should observe that everyone's been almost suspiciously nice to us. I mean, it almost feels like our villages aren't in a cold war. I suppose maybe Leaf's lack of a Jnchuuriki in this timeline could have something to do with it, as could the fact that we were the ones that unilaterally offered cooperation between the villages.

Do the explosion release people boost around using their explosions and protecting their body somehow?

To start off, you stand right next to Kurotsuchi and form barriers around her like a box. Performing this at a distance and in a more precise shape might be a bit taxing, so you keep it simple for now.

You can keep the barrier up around her for about five seconds. Though with the barrier's shape, she has enough room to attack the barriers. When she does, the strain on your chakra greatly increases. The move could definitely become usable, but it'll take practice.

After a while, you and Kurotsuchi decide to leave.

"Kon, as far as I'm concerned, you're a Bakutsugi just like us." Katsuki tells you as you say your farewells. "You are welcome in this house any time."

The next morning, you're eating breakfast with your group. Konohamaru looks bored, while Lee looks just as enthusiastic as ever. Sai is jotting down things in his notebook again, and Sakura is next to him, looking exhausted for some reason. Guy Sensei's smile somehow seems angrier than usual.

After eating, you and your group head to the village gates, where Kurotsuchi is waiting.

"I feel like we made some good progress here." Kurotsuchi tells the group. "The Stone and the Leaf have a rough history, but I think we've proved that we can move past it."

Kurotsuchi reaches out and grabs your hand.

"And remember Kon, there are plenty of people here that would love to see you again." Kurotsuchi smiles. "Feel free to think of the Stone as a second home. You are welcome to come back here anytime."
