It was a busy morning, first you had the Herbology and then the Transfigurations. Transfigurations proved to be a class you are not so good in during your time in Hogwarts. You are still yet to transfigure anything successfully.

Just after the lunch you have a meeting with your distant and older cousin Alfred. You meet with him at the outside grounds with a nice view of the Lake. The weather is starting to get cold and it seems it will rain later today.

Alfred looks like a normal guy. He is wearing his Hufflepuff robes and some extra scarves for the find. He doesn't look like your father or your uncle, or you think so at least. You meet awkwardly and start talking about general things like the weather and the classes. You learn that his mother and father are both working in the St.Mungo as a healer and he also wants to be a healer when he is done with his studies. He asks you what do you want to be when you are finished. "You should plan this stuff you know... you need certain grades at certain classes for the job you want."

"I am not sure yet. I like potions. Also magical creatures... I think something about this stuff...maybe even teaching about it here...I don't know." Alfred just smiles and says it's a big part of the profession Healer to know about potions and potioneering. He tells you he can teach you some "cool" potions if you like later but now he needs to run for his class. He tells you maybe his parents will also come to your house for the Christmas dinner but he is not sure.

"Hinkypunks? Strange I was just reading about this the other day. Check for the book called "Marsh Dwellers" in the library. It has lot of information about this kind of creatures. "See you soon, John! It's nice to have someone from the family here." He smiles and leaves.

You also leave for the Charms class with the Professor Flitwick, he teaches the class about some strange magical alphabets that you find boring. When you return to the Ravenclaw Area you find that you have received a letter. It's from your mother.

"Dear John,

I am very happy to hear you made it into the Quidditch team! I am looking forward to hear about your success in the team. I have never played as a Seeker so I can not help you with that, but I am sure you will prove to be excellent at it. There will be a surprise for you at home when you come back for the Christmas. Enjoy your days and do not neglect your studies.

Love, Mom"

Now you have some free time to spend.

http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Harry_Potter_and_the_Tabletop_RPG

Our classes will bring us up to Skill Rank 1 in the subjects we are taking at the end of year 1, we can study to learn other skills or get ahead of the curve. We actually learn nothing from Potions and Herbology class

Just like my real life school.

Considering it is hogwarts, we should probably just spend all our time on DADA. Although, I've always thought charms was the most useful and transfiguration oddly specific. So unless we want animagus, it is maybe a dump stat.

You head to the library and check out the book your cousin told you about. It has lot of information on creatures that live in marshes and bogs from hags, hinkypunks, imps to marsh ogres and will-o-wisps.

You read all there is on the Hinkypunks and you think you quite know anything that is to be known about them. Anya looks quite interested also with the book and asks you if she can also check it out. You leave it to her.

Two day passes and now you are once again back in the Potions class that is in common with the Slytherin. To your surprise David is in the class. He looks pale and a bit slow but in general he looks okay. He must have been treated well. Professor Snape is as usual and just tells you about how Potions are an art that most of you will probably never master and lack any kind of intelligence and then he gives you a task to brew a Herbicide potion. It is used to kill and destroy plants. The ingredients are ready in the stores and you just need to brew it.

He takes 5 points from Ravenclaw after Valdis makes a comment on how the smell of the potion is similar to the smell of a troll's fart.

Well if I got it right, it takes 60 hours to raise an easy skill from 0 to 1. You get 3 hours by attending the class every week. Then the rest is up to how much you study.

You can also reduce the time as Intelligence x 10 and also by pay any number of galleons up to your Spirit score to reduce the study time by 10 for each galleon spent.

Persuasion is gained by spending social time instead of studying.

And you should get 1 attribute point every year if I remember correctly.

You say that you should also talk to the David, to Anya. She nods. "If it's the same thing that hurt them...But what if it isn't? And I saw David after the class. He was just telling some students how he doesn't remember much other than taking a walk near the lake."

Tim smiles. "Let's check our friend."

Anya runs upstairs really quick to get a jacket and Tim runs to get his wand. You already have your wand with you.

>Get something else
>Let's go
>>

>Get something else
Bring Cordelia if she's awake, get that spy bee going.
>>
>>42927401
>We're not the greatest planners.
But we did just that when we told Glenn he was stupid for thinking of breaking into Sprout's materials cabinet, and we were able to trick her into giving us what we needed.

It's just pure laziness and stupidity on the part of players like you.
>>
>>42927405

Our invisibility cloak? nope. All we got is this lousy garlic.

Oh wow, that's a terrible assumption to make, hostility is a shitty thing to show.
>>
>>42927405
>Get something else
Switch out of our robes and into generic clothing, with a jacket if we have one. Make sure that there's nothing that could lead back to us or Ravenclaw.

Don't bring Cordelia because her buzzing will give her away, and she is unique to us and an easily identifiable familiar.
>>
>>42927405

Put Cordy back in her cage with some sugar water.
Do we have any of that wiggenweld potion we learned to make? Take that.
>>
>>42927459
You currently only have lot of vials of Herbicide and one vial of Volubilis which alters the voice of the drinker.
>>
>>42927456
We've always been careful before, we haven't run into anything without thinking of a better way, and we've been careful until now about making baseless accusations or assumptions.

Since you didn't try to come up with a better way to see Glenn than taking the most direct action, what else could it be than being too lazy to try to think of an alternative.
>>
>Take Cordy or not?
>>
>>42927489

Might as well, bring each of the potions and the garlic. I don't want to bring our broom and break/lose it.
>>
>>42927489
Doesn't that only remove accents, rather than actually changing what our voice sounds like?

>>42927577
No.
>>
>>42927577

Leave her. We haven't trained her to do anything!
>>
>>42927590
No that was another potion
>>
>>42927627
Oh, then lets bring it along, just in case we need to use it.
>>
You change your clothes and wear your jacket, leave Cordy behind safely put in her cage, take a vial of Volubilis and leave the common area with Tim and Anya.

Anya leads the way to the Hospital Wing. After twenty minutes you manage to reach there. It is dark and cold in the castle. You, luckily didn't caught by anyone. The door is locked.

If we read far enough into our First Year spellbook, we should have read about the Unlocking Charm in Chapter 7.
Though I doubt we know the proper wand movements for it.

We should have waited to get properly ready for this.
>>
>>42927836
It's not in. You preferred to take the Reparo.

Anya says she will try to unlock the door and that she had learned this spell before. She takes out her wand, seems really stressed, does the movement and says in a low voice, "Alohomora!" For a second nothing happens. Then you hear a click sound. The door unlocks and you enter the infirmary. It is completely dark inside except for the moonlight coming in from the windows. You check all the place and find that there are only two beds occupied. One of them a girl sleeps. The other , Glenn. He seems to be sleeping or unconscious. You examine him, he looks pale and there are red circles under his eyes. Tim says "Look!" and he finds some leaves clenched in Glenn's hand. It's the herb you gave to him. And when he takes it you also see some marks on his wrist. There are four or five strange marks, like deep wounds on his left wrist.

>What to do

>>42927927
Feel the marks on his wrist, wake him up if possible.
I know it's a dick move to wake him up.

I mean, what kind of nurse would overlook that shit?

Examine the marks with Anya. Then ask her to take a look at the girl, and see if she has the same wounds somewhere on her body.

Check Glenn's breathing, and look around for the Nurse's desk and see if there are notes on Glenn's condition.

Anya checks on the girl and declares that she doesn't have any marks or anything and simply seems to be sleeping and with some fever.

When you examine the marks you can clearly see they are bite marks. Two deep ones that indicates two front, larger teeth and two other smaller ones near them.

Tim checks the desks and around but couldn't find anything useful on Glenn's condition. There are only a jar full of raisins next to Glenn's bed, probably brought to fed to him.

"I think we should go now. It seems he is out." says Tim.

You head out of the room while Anya is trying to lock the door. "But what was those leaves?" Tim wonders a loud. You just realize they do not know. You tell them you give Glenn this herb to help with his divination skills, you didn't know what they were for before. After locking the door Anya also tells Tim about the prophecy. It seems he is also in this now.

Three of you walk towards the stairs and pass the corridor where you encountered that goblin. Anya whispers "We have to be extra quiet" pointing to a door "This is where Professor Snape stays I think." it is the room you heard someone was talking loudly that night.

You continue a bit more and then just when you take the stairs they change randomly. Now you are once again in a completely foreign corridor. You can hear water dripping from somewhere. Just then you year a loud "THUCK" sound from behind, you turn around and...

You turn your heads to see a strange sight. A short creature, you can't see very well because all the torches in the corridor are not lit. No TWO creatures carrying something. When they see you they drop it with haste. One of them, now you can see a Goblin, orders the other creature in a language you don't understand. He then does some weird hand movements and the chest disappears. And quickly after this starts running away very fast.

The creature starts coming towards you, now you can see it's a Doxy.

You cast your spell while at the same time Anya casts "Lumos!". Your spell hits a torch near by on the wall and turns it into a small bat. You can see the light from Anya's wand and Tim shouts "Lets get out of here!" Your bat seems to be a bit out of your control just dives near where you imagine the Doxy is. "Damned thing tried to catch me!" Tim is saying, panting while you three are running away. You are quite afraid thinking what would happen if a teacher right now found you, running around, casting spells, breaking and entering the infirmary, they would take all your points...hell they would expel you maybe!

After some time of running that you think took maybe all the eternity you reach the Ravenclaw Tower safely without knowing what happened to the Doxy back there.

You enter the common room, there is nobody here and the fire is almost died in the fireplace too. It is quite late. "What the hell was that thing and the other one??" Tim asks completely shaken. "What is going on here?"

Anya doesn't seem to know much about it but she promises to study it and find something. "He seemed to order the Doxy to attack us. Other than that I don't know what, he ran away quickly." she says. "But I have maybe an idea on Glenn... I think maybe he tried to see more with the herbs to prevent the attack on another victim in his prophecy. And maybe whatever it made him see, he went out. And then got attacked. Why would he go out otherwise with some leaves?"

"Whatever it is it needs to wait until the morning" Tim says and heads to bed. "We shall visit Glenn tomorrow again, this time in normal hours...if they let us." says Anya, tries to smile and tells you good night. You are left alone looking outside at the dark lake that looks like a completely perfectly polished rock surface, hiding all the things underneath.

You try to think about all the things but you are just too tired. You head to sleep.
