After his death in a plane crash, a fellow fa/t g/uy and chemical engineer was reborn into a world of Swords & Sorcery! A world which runs on rold time RPG mechanics, where he founf himself with his old memories and the ability to see his and other characters sheets.

Currently -almost- 15 years old, our MC, Eldric, is working to stop a cascade of [ERROR]s that threaten to destroy his new world and friends.

Let me know when you arrive, guys

Miellewds-guy reporting in.
We need to either find a Succubus lab assistant that isn't an airhead, or find some way to focus their intellect.
I'm thinking that we use them as living computers to do calculations and data processing for us.
>>

We need a succubus as part of our collection of smart and efficient girls.

maybe if we gave them a huge pile of peas to work with... but honestly I think its a fun trait if they are all ridiculously smart, but can only really follow their personal interests, and everything else sort of just gets writen down as a sidenote.

Aura pretty much loves Okaba, and worries about his welbeing both at a personal level and as a political figure. She's fine showing affection for him around us, his friends, but she acts very properly around strangers.

Dawn just loves pranks and plants, right now. She cares about her brother, and everything else is sort of just "there".

Im thinking all the succubus are like that, they are passionate about their personal interests and everything else is there but they dont really pay much attention to it. They are ridiculously smart, but also don't really care about using their breainpower for things that aren't relevant to their interests.

And for reason they like peas.

I just thought that would make for a rather lovable succubus race.

Now where were we... right.

Who do you want to participate in the group going to Lapsiona? Okaba is basically the crown prince of their enemy state, so that could have all sort of good and bad effects. Maybe Honoria or Alard, since they are "neutral" as far as Lapsiona is referred?
>>
>>42849873
Eldric, Mako, Honoria, and Alard.
We're still technically neutral, since Haven hasn't been officially made a member of the Coalition or of the UN.

"This is kind of exciting. We're ambassadors now!" -Mako says with her hands made into small fists next to her chest.
"Princess, you've been the empire's ambassador to the coalition for over a year now" -says one of her shadows. Probably Mai
"But wasn't it just playing with Eldric and Honoria and everyone else?"
"...please be serious about this."

Well, the comedy sketch that Mako and her shadows seem to be running on the side, we should decide on some things before hand. If they ask us about the rockit ship, should we say it belongs to Heven? what if they ask to come onboard? do we mention Okaba right away or keep quiet about him? are we trying to open diplomatic channels in a formal way between the coalition and Lapsiona, or just between Heven and Lapsiona?

"Brother, can we go?" -Zoe and Stella ask while looking at us with a worried expression

>Let's honestly say that we come as diplomats from the coalition, and that we are currently negotiating to have Heven join us as well. Try to sell them the idea or a world senate where arguments can be settled peacefully through non violent means.
>Let's just explain what happened to the mining town and recruit them for help against the [ERROR]s without trying to also drag them into the Coalition.

>Let's honestly say that we come as diplomats from the coalition, and that we are currently negotiating to have Heven join us as well. Try to sell them the idea or a world senate where arguments can be settled peacefully through non violent means.
Also mention early that we rescued survivors from a mining town.
Sell them the idea that war is expensive; it costs money and lives.
A place where problems can be arbitrated and where decisions can be enforced by the military backing of the world, will make it cheaper to resolve international disputes.
>>
>>42850114
>>42850181
Come to think of it, trying to have them join the Coalition could be seen as a threat, couldn't it?
If Heven joins the Coalition but Lapsiona doesn't, then Lapsiona would be in a much weakened military position, since Heven could call on the military strength of half the planet for assistance.

Lapsiona would have no choice but to join, or fight a war against the world.

We should consider our words carefully.

The prime objective should be to get Lapsiona to join the military alliance against the ERRORs; all other priorities are secondary.

I know, right? how do you think it should go, then?
>>

Well, coalition members are not allowed to war against each other so joining would mean neither side would be allowed to attack the other with military forces.

I don't know how easy that may be to sell to a medieval society.

Alright, let's continue, I guess? so we are delivering the refugees, explaining who we are, about the [ERROR]s, and trying to get them to join us, right?
>>
>>42850311
Separate the Coalition from the unified military command to fight the ERROR threat.
The Coalition is a trade union, and the military alliance is only for fighting the ERRORs. Heven will not get military assistance against Lapsiona.

But even that doesn't really get rid of the threat. By being a member of a trade union, Heven will be able to leverage favorable trading rights and access to new markets. Even if they don't get pure military assistance, the logistical support of a stronger economy and access to the military production capability of other nations will still give Heven an unbeatable edge against Lapsiona.

Again, Lapsiona will have to join or be completely outclassed by Heven in any future war they have.
And there isn't another trade union or partner they could ally with, either.
From a strategic and political perspective, they must join the Coalition if offered.
>>
>>42850418
The point is that Lapsiona loses.
There's no way around it. They have to join the Coalition whether they want to or not.
If they do join, it's at the point of a sword clothed in velvet aimed at their throat.
If they don't join, then they have to fight an enemy that has the backing of the rest of the world.

Sounds pretty good

I like the idea of a commercial union.

Alright so we are going with an honest if somewhat scary and high-handed approach, or try to spoil and seduce them into our group?

>>
>>42851061
I'd like to sduce them into our group, but it really depends on the competence of the rulers.

If they're halfway decent, they should see the obvious situation; they have to join because there is no alternative that doesn't lead to their nation getting crushed in the next Heven-Lapsionian War.

I'd like to see how the leaders first react to a mission to open diplomatic channels, before bringing up the Coalition.

So having decided to be as honest and open as possible, we went together ith Alard, Honoria and Mako towards the city, escorting the refugees while our ship waits at a safe distance.

Of course, we were immediately surrounded by the guards. We did just arrive in a flying ship after they lost all contact with a nearby town, and their classical enemies are flying ones, so it was to be expected.

Most of these folks are spider tribesmen, it seems. Indeed, it is the dominant race here. The architecture shows it in how wide their doors are, to allow easier access for the large bodies of the citizens.

No, there is no omnipresent spider web themes everywhere, nor black buildings with spider motiffs everywhere... I guess that would make as much sense as replacing every single pilar with a esculpture of an athletic human in Eopolis or Mantequira, or having dwarven warriors carved into everything back in Opal.

Also, once the refugees explained what happened, most of the guards dispersed, and the few that remained with us are said to be an honor guard instead of watchmen. Well, they are still watching over our every move to be sure, but they're called honor guards, so there's that.

The authority in town is a local feudal lord, and doesn't has the authority to make the large scale decisions that will be needed, so a message has been sent to the capital, and we are free, in the meantime, to go in and out of the city as we wish.

And so, we are, for the time being, free to be just regular tourists, who happen to walk around followed by a spidertribe honor guard.

As for what their city IS like... it looks fairly normal for the fantasy world we are living in right now, except that all doors are twice as wide as we are used to, and the stairs have... its hard to say smooth, but the edges at the sides of every staircase on the street has a smooth look, yet the surface actually has many little bumps and nudges into it.

Mostly spider tribesmen. I tried to stay away from spider jokes, but I liked the idea of them being naturally good at social webs, so they are actually the most civilized beast tribe, and/or the only one with their own country.

The centaurs and salamanders have a "nation" but not a country, for example.

***

Well, the spider tribesmen walk along those "rails" at the sides of stairs. Their legs are better suited for such, rather than for regular steps, but we do see a few of them going up and down the outside of buildings here and there.

As for their local products, their foodgeons mostly hold insect-type monsters, and thus it is not hard to find grasshopper steaks or armors made out of magically reinforced insect shells. We sort of expected to see spider silk on the market but... there's no such item.

Well, not all spiders make webs, after all.

"These aren't bad" -Honoria is trying out some cricket steaks from a street stall
"Isn't that bug?" -Alard looks at it with mistrust
"So?"

Ah, right, the dwarves famous sturdiness and resistance to being grossed out.

"Eldric, can you buy me one?" -Mako looks at us with a interested expression

She's grown into quite the dazzling beauty, hasn't she? but she still feels like that young and timid princess we first met.

"Sure, I'll have a bug kebab too, please. Better make that ... how many do you have?"

We buy enough treats for our sisters, pets and lowers back at the ship, and store them in our [Item Box].

Ah, as for the local fashion... well, these are the tropics, so let's just say it is quite light, with most people wearing simple pants and sandals, and the most self conscious types also wearing a light shirt or another top. Wide wing hats are omnipresent, though, and with the way the sun's light hits the street, it only makes good sense.

Ah, the local faith seems to be centered about the God of Family and Home. Uh... isn't that usually a female in most cases? I guess they are not as given to stereotyping the sexes as most cultures.

Jewelry and accessories seem to be quite common, but are on the thin and light side. Rather than a thick necklace with plates of gold encrusted with gems, they seem to prefer thin and delicate gold braids and chains, with plenty of accessories focused on the hands and feet. Earrings are actually nowhere to be found, but necklaces and collars are common.

The local coin seems to have a rather low percentage of gold, with a high content of silver and bronze instead. It is a rather unremarkable hexagon with simple signs on either side. Honestly, it looks like it will be much easier to stack than round coins would be.

It is quite a simple coin, but the shape looks very convenient. Wonder why noone else uses it?

As for their society... well, it is medieval, but looks quite clean and orderly. The streets look as if they were planned rather than just popping as time went on, and there are few guards other than the ones following u- ....ah, while walking, we came across a military barrack.

This large number of buildings... this is a regiment, not just a barrack. No, more like, a small standing army. Even so, we haven't seen any soldiers on the street.

Well, this IS a frontier town right against an hostile border, so it was to be expected that there would be troops stationed here, right?

Looking at the people on the streets... it actually takes us a moment to notice, there are no slaves. Well, we need to focus on any given individual for a moment so we can see their job and class, so of course it would take quite a while to spot that.

Pretty much everyone is a villager, with the odd noble here and there on a 100:1 ratio, or perhaps more.

Asking around, we learn that criminals are sent to the mines and foodgeons for the entire lenght of their sentence as slaves. Private individuals are not allowed to own slaves, but businesses can, so we could see slaves working as staff on any large-enough business.

Also, slaves are protected against sexual exploitation, and only legal for labour. This isn't as promising as it sounds, however. Those sent to mines and foodgeons rarely live more than a few months, if even that, and their living conditions when owned by businesses are not regulated in any way, so they may consider themselves lucky if they have a blanket to sleep on.

The regular citizens, however, seems to share the feeling that, since only criminals and inferior races are enslaved, there's no need to worry about them. The reason slaves are protected against sexual abuse seems to be out of a "fear of deviancy" in regular citizens.

Speaking of which, the people here is mostly spider tribesmen, humans, and bear tribesmen. Other races are nowhere to be seen.

As usual with beast tribes, there is a large and obvious difference in appearance between males and females, with the males looking a lot more beast or spider-like....

"Wait, then... Portia is a girl?" -Eldric asks to nobody in particular after passing by his thousandth spiderkin male

"Cousin, you did not notice? I am rather worried about you now. I thought you were a womanizer, but are you actually somewhat unaware of girls?" -Alard looks at us with worry
"I just... its hard to tell boys from girls when they're little!"
"Eldric, I'm a girl" -says Mako as she gently holds our hand
"I know!"
"Ah, I'm a girl too, by the way" -says Honoria as she tries to keep a straight face, but ends up smirking anyway

Well, it is growing somewhat late, so our group heads out of the city and back to the rockit ship. Our honor guard follows us half the way, and then they make camp at a side of the road.

This probably means that they will wait for us and escort us tomorrow as well, right? we should probably send them some food or such...

Oh, right. Okaba mentioned that the Lapsionan also enslaved the succubus, but we didn't see any in town.

And so, we ended up renting the whole place again.
However, it is by no means empty.
Dad, Alard, mom, Zoe, Stella, uncle Dan, Ellie and our 5 blood-related siblings.
Lyann, Aritsu, Mako, Ami and Mai
Nina and her eight sisters. Fahima, Atroma, Tanis and Atroma
Indeed, the bath building is actually at half capacity right now, but not so full as to be crowded.

Plus, there are private baths connected to the main ones, if one wants some privacy.

By the way, mom, Ellie and dad took our young siblings to one of the private baths, but mostly because the water pool isn't as deep as in the main area.

Mom left Athena with us, because she wants to play in the big boy's pool, and spend time with us.

Uncle Dan... did he took Tanis away, or was he kidnapped by her? should we rescue him? there's this feeling that, if we go, we will end up seeing something we do not want to.

Actually, speaking of seeing, Mako seems quite calm despite being nude in the bath with us (and over a dozen people).

"Isn't it normal? it is a bath, right?" -she looks at us with a innocent expression.

No, please don't look at us with such pure eyes! it is our fault for being a lecherous old man!

"Eldric, are you alright? does your head hurts? there, there" -she gently pulls our head towards her chest and holds us there, gently patting our head.

So soft...

"Princess, we will" -says one shadow
"wash your hair now." -finishes the other

Ah, they did mention once upon a time that part of their duties included taking care of Mako's hair, right? it is sort of a national treasure.

"Yes, thank you." -the dark haired princess walks off to a low bench next to her shadows and sits down to make the process easier.

"Brother, can you wash my hair?" -Athena's tiny hand pulls on our fingers as she tries to get our attention
"Alright, lets see... sit over there, and I will go get some warm water and bath oils."

Lyann seems quite relaxed as she looks at us from the edge of the pool, smiling peacedully as we take care of Athena's golden hair.

Behind Lyann, Stella is swimming around, doggy style, up and down the large main pool. Actually, her butt pops slightly over the water edge, so her tail wags from side to side as she happily chases after the harpies, or rather, the ball that they are throwing around in the pool.

"Brother Eldric, can you do my hair next?" -Zoe asks while we are taking care of Athena
"Syre, please wait for a little bit."

Zoe sits down on her heels next to Athena on the white stone floor, waiting patiently.

Aritsu... actually seems to be quite embarrased, and keeps herself deep in the pool, with just her head popping up over the water level. I guess elves don't have a tradition of public baths? she seemed quite alright when it was just us and Lyann, however.

Actually, isn't it just girls right now? Other than us, of course.

Well... she seemed to be alright when we started a threesome with Lyann, so perhaps she is somewhat conscious about both genders alike?
