You decide to go to the cafeteria so you can catch the girls as soon as possible. The three of you have become very close and to be quite honest you're worried for Nivah's mental health if the two of you become separated. Better to prepare her for the worst in your mind.

You go with Taral and the cafeteria seems to have only just opened with you being the first to enter. You mindlessly pick a meal and sit, eating with anxious voracity. Slowly the world dwindles into life around you as people enter, eyeing you momentarily before returning their minds to the worries of the near future. You finish as chatter starts to build and eventually you hear two familiar voices from behind you.

"Well, someone's awake early as usual. Aren't you usually being tough and sweaty in the desert around this time?"

Cael'la teases, but behind the typical coy banter you hear a tightness. She's nervous.

Nivah says nothing but leans down and kisses you gently on the cheek before taking a seat beside you. The wound on her face has healed well, a thin line of scar tissue trailing from just above her right eye diagonally downward before stopping at about her mid cheek. She smiles a small smile at you but you see the anxiety in her eyes.

"So... what brings you here so early?"

It looks like we're going to at least attempt to keep the gang together, which means it's probably time to talk about priorities.

Keeping one of the waifus isn't guaranteed, but it does seem more likely than keeping both. I'd err on the side of keeping Nivah close, just because she seems so unstable. I feel like we can count on Cael'la to be a stalwart ally without keeping her on a short leash. Separating from Nivah might have more negative consequences.

Nivah's eyes seem to light up and glisten at the idea of being able to stay together, Cael'la's reaction seems a bit more pragmatic however.

"While I can't say I wouldn't enjoy that it's incredibly unlikely. Two apprentices being picked together I might be able to see, but all three of us? Especially considering we're three of the most powerful? Even that aside, we three have very different skill sets which wouldn't necessarily mesh with every Master. Espionage is my specialty, where and I see you more on the front lines of a battle field for example."

She says, her voice a bit solemn.

Nivah unconsciously flinches at this suggestion, but the truth of the matter weighs upon you. You'd certainly need to Master who required eclectic skill sets under them if you are to succeed in staying with even one of them, not to mention both.

If we all went to different masters we would make more contacts, which considering the sith politics would be very helpful when we need them.
Otherwise we'd all be meeting the same people.

You reply with a slight sigh.

Cael'la nods, albeit sadly and Nivah seems to shrink a bit however not as much as you thought she might. It seems the understanding that being apart wouldn't mean total isolation from each other eased her heart a bit on the subject.

The girls stand and go to get their food and eat, you chat and manage to get Nivah to smile a bit as your all spend the morning together. For a moment the knowledge that you would soon be face to face with your future Master seemed to take a back seat for a moment, until the doors of the cafeteria open and Master Vessa enters gazing out among the Apprentices. The world slows to a stop and everyone's hearts drop to their stomachs in near practiced unison.

"The interviews will begin shortly. I will call out the names of those of you being summoned immediately. The rest of you will be summoned individually when it is your time, be ready and don't dawdle."

She begins listing off names from a small tablet computer she has, and when she says your name you can nearly hear the snarl in the back of her throat. Nivah and Cael'la's names go unsaid and you know it is your time to part.

You rise and make your way to the entrance as do many other Apprentices. You are lead as a group while Master Vessa speaks to her own personal Apprentices. In time the lot of you arrive at a long hallway with many doors, Master Xalia and Jorrak can be found there and you are instructed to speak with your Master. Jorrak crosses to you immediately with a bewildered but pleased look on his face.

You ask tentatively.

Jorrak responds motioning you to a door.

You breathe a heavy breath and make your way to the door. It feels heavy, though you know in truth it's your muscles nearly refusing to move it. Within is a small room with two chairs facing each other and a large table between them.

Sitting in the far chair you see a hulking behemoth of a man wearing what you can only imagine in incredibly expensive armor. His face it strongly boned yet chiseled in a way that makes you think he might have been handsome once. Where a good quarter of his face once was metal shapes into the remnants of a face are grafted to him the center piece of which is an amazingly advanced eye which makes yours look like something cobbled together in a few minutes. Even more impressive is the only other part of his body not covered in armor, a massive robotic arm.

It's quite possibly the most expensive piece of tech you have ever seen in your life, and while your understanding of robotics is rudimentary it is clear that this piece thing was made with a single purpose in mind. You relax a bit as you begin to realize that Darth Carn is a bit more jovial then you had initially expected.
