After the sorting the Headmaster makes a speech about how the future looks bright and the Wizarding world will heal itself by helping each other and in unity. Loud applouds follow. After you eat at the feast it is time to leave for your Houses. A really short man comes to take your table back to the House. You think he is maybe half Elf or Half Goblin and Half Wizard. He is the Charms Professor and Head of the Ravenclaw Filius Flitwick. You and others follow him all the way in the castle and finally up to a spiral staircase and infront of a big stone arched door. There is no handle on the door other than a bronze Eagle statue.
The eagle statue calmly asks:
"What has roots as nobody sees,
Is taller than trees,
Up, up it goes,
And yet never grows?"

Professor Flitwick, confident of himself, answers "Mountain." The door slowly opens. He says you are also, always requiered to answer a riddle when you want to enter the Ravenclaw Common Room and to your dormitories obviously. You are a bit afraid what will happen if you don't know the answer and want to enter but you don't think much about it...

The room is colored with bronze and blue silk flags, arched stoneways and doors, midnight blue soft carpet and the ceiling with the midnight sky and stars visible. It is a nice, open and airy room with an old statue of Rowenna Raveclaw inside and many sofas and tables around to sit and chill. Older students just casually sit down or go to beds and Anya tells you she is also going to bed and she is very tired.

You enter the dormitory and in your room there are two bunk beds. One stove in the middle and some lockers and small tables to put your stuff. From the windows there is a great view of the Quidditch Pitch and the grounds.

"It seems we will live here John!" says an excited Valdis. Looks like he took one of the beds and sleeps at the bottom. Two other boys are also inside and you all meet. One of them sleeps on top of Valdis and called Tim Nello. He is a lean tall boy with black hair. And the other guy is a red haired short boy named Glenn DeMange.

"Nice to meet you too, John...so do you prefer the top or the bottom?" Glenn asks you.

After settling in you pet your bee a bit and give her some food. Then you decide it's time to sleep and you are very tired and overwhelmed after all.

You wake up early in the morning and wear your new robes with blue and bronze colours, you are proud of your House! You and the other boys walk out of the dormitory into the Common Room where you meet with Anya. She is also wearing her colors for the first time. She smiles to you and gives you a book titled "The Three Musketeers" you put the book in your bag and then all together go to the breakfast.

You receive a letter from your parents during the breakfast via the owls of the morning post and they congratulate you and wish you success and happiness in Ravenclaw. It is written by your dad and signed as "your Mom & Dad" You think maybe she would have liked more if you went to Slytherin. You sit next to Anya and chat a bit during the breakfast. You can also see Glenn reading a long letter seriously. Tim and Valdis are just eating stuff and talking about Quidditch. Also there are other first graders in the table talking to each other.

Now it's time for your first Hogwarts lesson.

You keep walking down and down into the bowels of the Castle and finally reach the stone hall that is your Potions classroom. When you enter the room you see there are already some Slytherin students sitting in the front rows. When everyone takes their place, you realize the black robbed, black and greasy haired, unpleasent, serious looking man that is just waiting at the back of the classroom. He turns suddenly and walks in front of the blackboard and with a nod he says that now it's time. He introduces himself as the Professor Severus Snape. You can see lot of students from the Slytherin smiles and kind of looks up to the professor. You remember he is the head of their house and started this job last year. "Potion making is an ancient and elegant art not for all of you witless children. I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art that is potion-making... I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper in death." He takes some steps from the front to the back of the classroom. "Today you will prepare the ingredients for the potion of "Cure for Boils". Open the page 77 on your textbooks and start the preperation."

Anya gulps and whispers to you "I remember reading this is an effective medicine...but prepared incorrectly this potion has been known to cause boils, rather than cure them..." She seems a bit stressed.

Valdis seems more relax and already reeding his textbook. David is talking with another Slytherin boy and doesn't even attempt to open his book.

Anya also prepares her ingredients but they do not look as perfect as yours. Still you think it's acceptable. You look around and see David really struggling with his materials. Valdis seems okay and you see Glenn just looks at his table looking thoughtful.

Soon the class will end and you will need to store your ingredients and finally brew them in the double class of Thursday.

You chat with her a bit more. She says she didn't know much about Hogwarts or the houses before this year when her parents decided to send her to England to study but she says she really like it, especially the colors.

Then suddenly all the classroom becomes pitch dark. Everyone gasps. A figure comes creeping slowly into the middle of the class from the corner with only a small light coming radiating from it. As it approaches you see it is a woman with a wand and the wand illuminates the class.

"Darkness is what you will fight against. Darkness as in lack of light and darkness as in lack of love, compassion." She speaks with a soft silky voice that makes you just want to close your eyes and go to sleep listening to her.

Then the light suddenly grows bigger and finally all the lamps and torches are lit again. You see a witch with a complete black robes and half moon glasses and a crooked nose standing in the middle of the class. She looks actually quite weak in terms of physic. Her skin looks very pale also.

This time she doesn't know the answer and the professor nods to you to answer. "They are called Gytrash. They are big white dog like ghostly creatures who travel in packs. They are dangerous but very sensitive to light so bright lights keep them off!" The professor nods again. "Good very good."

You walk into the library to look for some books about the homework. You just chat for a few seconds with Glenn. He is checking out a book called "Omens, Oracles & the Goat by Bathilda Bagshot"

You find a book that talks about this spell. You go though the pages of "The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection by Professor Quentin Trim" and finally find the spell. It is called the "Smokescreen Spell" It is said to be a useful spell in dueling. You read on the theory of the spell and how to make the hand movements and so on. You feel competent after two hours of reading to try to cast it...not in the library of course.

Then you realize you need to run to the dinner before they finish serving.
