With a hissing noise that was followed by the buzzing of turbines and the sound of clogging tubes the Stasis Tube started draining and leaving the cloned Arandano suspended only by some cables that were connected to her nape and spine. After the process was over all the cables dislodged automatically and the tube opened, leaving the confused and naked girl to clumsily fall against the cold floor.

She couldn’t be more than twenty years old but due to her status as a clone and the fact that she had been under a faulty stasis chamber for over five hundred years made knowing her true biological age an impossible task.

Arandano was a girl of pale complex and blonde hair that reached her waist and was platinum blonde. Her eyes were dark brown and her pupils were unusually big, making her entire eye look like a dark black hole akin to the ones that could be encountered on the cosmos. Her lips were vivid pink and a small hint of blush covered her cheeks, contrasting heavily against her pale visage. Her overall body wasn’t very feminine, giving her a somewhat androgynous appearance, this was surely a defect caused from the lack of estrogen during her slowed growth, she was pretty tall thought with her being roughly your height despise her younger looks.

After her first contact against the ground she reacted quickly and used her arms and unaccustomed muscles to help herself into getting up and standing on her feet. If the memory transfer had been correct she would have to know how to walk, she just needed practice.

To cover her naked body and avoid making her getting cold and possibly catch a cold or any other illness you quickly covered her with one of the black and white robes that were the characteristic design of this particular Cruiser.

“W-what?”

You looked at her and nodded, not to answer her but happy to confirm that at least the language codes had been perfectly installed and that she now knew how to speak your language. She had some accent on herself but nothing that couldn’t be ignored.

Carefully you took her under your strong and bionic arms and helped her with her first steps. She was still weak, at least physically.

“Where I am? Why am I here? Who are you? What happened?”

Her genetic father’s diary explained how curious she was but this took you by surprise. She hadn’t been more than five minutes in the Materium and she had already asked five questions.

>Take her to some bed and let her rest. Take her then to the Scanner and study if there is anything wrong with her. Do not tell her anything about what happened.
>Take her to bed and let her rest. Answer her questions and explain everything to her. This shocking revelation could make her go into a cardiac arrest but the more you delay the truth the more it might affect her.
>Take her to bed and let her rest. Be the one that makes the questions. Ask her what she knows about the Tau and if she can share any secrets to you. Show her the Plasma gun that she created.

Pretty good. Sorry about starting an hour later, I had to deal with some cousins and family members.

>>42719463
>Take her to some bed and let her rest. Take her then to the Scanner and study if there is anything wrong with her. Answer her questions and explain everything to her.

Step by step you helped her with her atrophied muscles, from time to time she seemed to be suddenly weakened and more than once she was close to painfully falling down, luckily for her your strong arms were ready at all times to catch her.

You cleaned the thick layer of dust that formed on the bedsheets and aided her into getting inside. She had been sleeping for eons but still she needed a little bit of more rest.

She tried to stay awake, clearly confused about her situation but soon enough she fell into a deep sleep. After ten minutes or so she started to mutter words and shake her head, she seemed to be having very vivid dreams, still what could a person that has just been born dream of? Your answered became answered shortly after she started mentioning names, specially the name of the Captain Ludevicus Hartwig and his father, Samallei Kant.

Arandano Kant was now repeating his recently implanted memories in dream form, reliving them once again as if it were the first time.

This could be both a blessing and a curse. Once she woke up she could remember enough of the dream and have most if not all of her questions answered, if she woke up and couldn't remember her dream then she would be even more confused and have a million of questions more that you couldn't truly answer.

Obviously you wanted her to remember everything, that would speed up everything, something that was vital as time wasn't something you had in excess. She wasn't a machine, she wasn't broken. All the prayers and litanies that you knew were not on your side in this occasion. There was little to none that you could do.
>>
>>42720100
Meanwhile you started pushing the wheeled bed and took her into one scanner machine, it was similar in design to the one found on the regular Medicae Bay but this one seemed to be an upgraded version that surely was a technological marvel in comparison with its counterpart.

Once you were near from the machine two clamp like dendrites appeared from a hidden compartment and grabbed the bed, placing it on a rail like system and softly pushing it into its guts, then an automatic process started scanning her on every possible spectrum. All you had to do was to read the results that appeared on a holoscreen and showed all her status.

She lacked nutrients and other kind of nourishment related magnitudes but otherwise she was healthy. During her stasistude she became completely shielded to infections and other illnesses.

After checking that she was healthy the machine delivered a final print that gave her the acceptance for servitor conversion or working condition.

You dismissed the print as it wasn't of any use to you and took her once again to the same room you had bedded her in. Then sat on a near chair and slowly yet unavoidably slept yourself.

An annoying poking woke you up. It was her, softly touching your metallic cranium with her index finger to wake you up. You stretched and felt somewhat hungry, luckily there was a fridge near with some hidden sandwiches behind some coagulated blood bags.

"Good morning sir! Well, I think it's morning, I'm not sure. I'm not sure of a lot of things!"

She pouted, filling her already red cheeks with air and turning them even more crimson. You sighed and grabbed the first sandwich.

"Greetings. I am Heracor Nahive...I guess you will end knowing everything sooner or later. It better be sooner. Ask away."

"So, are you finally going to tell me why am I a clone?"
>>
>>42720117
"Excuse me? H-how did you guess it?"

"Well, there were various factors. For starters my dreams and memories, on them I am wearing several bionics while I am completely human right now. Secondly I can read and my cloning vat isn't very far away, walking is harder than my other self remembered thought."

"Other self? You are Arandano, you are her."

"I...I don't think that way. I don't know why I had been cloned but I am not her. I thank her for being important enough for being cloned but other than that...I don't have any feeling for her or my genetic father Samallei."

This took you by surprise. You thought that if she remembered all she would think of herself as the true Arandano but apparently she outsmarted you and discovered the truth by herself.

"I guess that I can tell you the truth then..."

You then proceeded to explain most of your story, starting from your arrest and ending into her awakening. You also ended mentioning her fathers and the Captain's diaries, both to inform her of the other side of the story and to see her reaction.

She once again surprised you by acting rather calm.

"I have only lived for a couple of hours bur I know that we are in deep trouble... If I remember well my past life may still have something usable around here..."

>Ask her for her side of the story.

Maybe she was reckless due to not knowing what true danger was. Her original self had been also protected all her life and thus was surely unaware of how threatening could life get. In the new Arandano's case a mix of wanting to feel new sensations and that unawareness to danger made her act with some bravado, she was slowly distancing from what her original self was, turning her into little more than a phantom.

You helped her standing out and let her guide you into what her past life might have left behind.

"So, what do you remember? Can you tell me your side of the story."

She seemed to be bothered, not because you asked but by the way you phrased it.

"I am not her. It's her side of the story, not mine. I am just a proxy who can tell you what she lived."

"F-forgive me. It wasn't my intention..."

Once again, she had caught you out of guard. Surely being so isolated to other rational humans made you even more awkward to other people and social interaction.

"She lived isolated in a room next to her father's. She had some stuff that pertained to her mother, including a bone ring and a picture. Her father was busy most of the time, to the point of spending entire weeks without visiting her at random intervals. She tried to stand out, both to ascend in the ranks and spend more time with him but also to catch his attention."

Arandano pointed at your Plasma Pulse.

"That was her greatest effort to catch her father's attention. Since the Cruiser had been mostly raiding Tau she decided to..."

For a moment she had to stop momentarily to catch her breath. She was really weak for a human of her age.

"...she decided to focus her studies on those xenos. After her first discovers she became ecstatic and started to gain notoriety among the upper echelons. She thought that with the Plasma Pulse she could finally make his own father turn her into part of his retinue, that way she would be forced to spend more time with him."

Arandano scratched her head.

"Things get more confusing from this point. She showed her creation to her father and became completely despaired when he didn't only rejected the creation she poured her soul and energy in. She ended telling him that she wished that her Mother could be alive, that she would understand her. This made him turn crazy for an instant, and ended stabbing her on the stomach...possibly because he saw his deceased wife for a second and revived the moment he had to make a Caesarean operation on her."

She touched her stomach, as if she could feel the blade sinking on her, this seemed to be the case as she even twitched her face on a dolorous expression.

"Then, nothing."

Silently she entered into her father's room and revealed a hidden panel, she entered some buttons and entered a code that only her knew of. Another hidden door revealed with a electric spark noise and the sudden blow of stale air.

She entered alone and quickly the door behind. She might not feel like the original Arandano but still she seemed to feel somewhat tied with her, as she didn't want you to break the privacy of her old self's room.

Arandano returned shortly after with an strange armor made from the same materials and aesthetic style as the one that the Cruiser adopted, it has a helmet that had some neon blue horizontal lines and what seemed like fur which surely was for decoration purposes or as a memento of her genetic mother's tribal origin.
>>
>>42720767
On her hands she had a circular tube that was filled with thousands of small microdisks that were so close to each other that gave the tube the appearance of a solid column that refracted light with a rainbow shine.

"Here is all of my research and all that I could store from the Cruiser's Dataservers. In case I get wounded this has priority over my life. Understood?"

You nodded softly, somewhat intimidated by her.

She pushed you away and searched around the room until she found a couple of very well hidden object. One was the same power sword that killed her original self, the other was a miniaturized pistol version of the Imperially constructed Plasma Pulse that you had.

"When did you construct a pistol?"

"I didn't, she did."

"Well, yes. When did SHE construct a pistol?"

"It was her first project, pistols are easier to build than rifles after all. Still, she thought that it wasn't enough to impress her father and decided to keep it for herself. The Arch-Magos ended finding it and told her that what she was doing was dangerous and that he would Incinerate the weapon so its presence doesn't continues staining the Cruiser. Thing is that he surely reconsidered it, the weapon isn't xenos, it has been done with Imperial materiel by Imperial hands."

She showed you the pistol, which was heavy yet seemed to be able to pack a punch.

"The first Arandano found the pistol one day and it was then when she decided to start with the Rifle that you now wear and to record it entirely, to assure that everything was done correctly."

We don't have time to learn about new tech, nor the time to make weapons of war. There's a space battle/scavenging going on within view distance of our ship, we're lucky we haven't been boarded yet. The most efficient thing to do would be to teach her how to defend herself a bit.

>Teach her about marksmanship

There isn't much time left. It even felt as if the Ordos Xenos inquisitor had abandoned you. Either you end invaded by one of the two opposing factions or you leave the warp and head into a suicide race in which you will surely become another kill mark in the multi faction war that will erupt between the Eldar, Orks and Traitor Marines.

"Alright, what do you know about shooting?"

"You raise the weapon, you aim and push the trigger. It isn't so complicated."

"Wrong, you couldn't be more wrong. You are grabbing the weapon wrong and you lack trigger discipline. Your position is faulty and you haven't said any prayer to the weapon."

She seemed infuriated at first but then she accepted her flaws and lend you her Pulse Plasma Pistol. You showed her the basic instructions to aim correctly and avoid stray shoots that couldn't only kill any unlucky person but even anger the machine spirit of the gun itself and render it inoperable.

For the next two days you taught her proper gun arts and maintenance, still she had to rest for long periods of time and her skills became average at most.

It was during one of your training sessions that the entire Space Hulk rumbled with the force of a quake. You two looked outside from one of the many stained glass panels and saw a veil covered by stars. Thousands of kilometers away lied the massive Craftworld, completely unaware of its future invasion.

Behind you several air currents formed and turned into small spirals of wing that created small tornadoes of dust and other particles, those were soon filled with sparks and light. Suddenly they all grew in size and disappeared, leaving behind several of the Inquisitor's Tempestus Scions and a Deathwatch Astartes.

"TELEPORT SUCCESFUL, NO CASUALTIES!"

"RAMIREZ, FULL REPORT!"

"WE SEEM TO BE ON A VOIDSHIP BOSS, THERE IS A LACK OF STRANGE OR HERETIC DESIGNS AND/OR SYMBOLS. THERE IS AN ALARMING LACK OF AQUILAS AND SYMBOLS DEDICATED TO THE EMPEROR. MY CONCLUSION, WE ARE ON A MECHANICUS SHIP."

It was then when they seemed to notice your presence, they all raised their laser weapons, including the Marine who had a Bolter and a Chainsword on itself.

"TWO STRANGE ENTITIES IN FRONT OF US! IDENTIFY YOURSELVES!"

Arandano looked at them defiantly and dared to raise her pistol at them, something that you quickly corrected by punching her pistol away. That could have been interpreted as an aggression act from her side, at least she raised the pistol correctly.

"Greetings mighty Astartes and Scions. We are Heracor Nahive and Arandano Kant...I was one of the Inquisitor's racers."

The apparent leader of the Scions, who somehow seemed to be able to issue orders to even the Astartes, ordered a halt and sent a medic to check their status. After the checkup and both passing the test as healthy and untainted the group seemed to relax.

You were obviously full of doubts and Arandano even had more questions than you. Still the leader seemed to notice your intent and was clear with you two.

"Two questions, no more. We don't have time to lose."

Choose 2 questions.

>"Why are you here?"

"We have been sent by the Inquisitor to be part of the last racer team as this seems to be the last stage of the Warboss's current race series. Since the last team perished we decided to use trained personnel and a Astartes to compliment. Use true warriors of the Emperor instead of the dregs of the lowest pits of society."

All the Scions got in line and saluted their captain with military discipline.

"We are a team of one Marine and eight Scions. Each one of us is specialized in one aspect. I am the leader, there are two drivers, two medics, one sniper, a demoman and a mechanic."

"We were not awaiting your presence here." Intervened the marine with solemnity.
>>
>>42722816
>"How is my dear daughter?"

"Who?" Answered roughly the captain with its mechanically empowered voice.

They all wore full body armor making them be impossible to know if they were male or female at all and their voices sounded pretty similar and mechanical after being processed by the vox caster.

"Alaria Nahive. It's his adopted daughter, we are right now trying to relocate her into a foster family. Since most personnel in the Station are warriors or Astartes we haven't been lucky so far."

"WHAT!? A FOSTER PARENT? WHY!?"

The team's medic stepped in and stopped you before you lost your senses.

"Your collar. It gave us your heartbeat and you were considered dead for long enough to legally consider her as an orphan...We-"

"We what!? First you force me into this suicide mission and now take one of the few things that I truly love?"

The leader grabbed its weapon and used it to hit you with its grip, catching you by surprise and throwing you to the ground. Some seconds later you were asking Arandano to keep herself calm but right now you were the one who was completely enraged.

"You were dead, she was alone, we aren't monsters and gave you a full pardon and tried to find her some good parents."

They all started subduing you, something which ended with a punch from the Astartes, something that turned everything black and sent you to a painful sleep.
>>
>>42722834
Those assholes.
>>
>>42722834

By the time you woke up you saw that the team had already established itself somewhere on the Cruiser and was working on some blueprints, possibly to build a vehicle. You were cuffed to a pipe with some handcuffs that were made from some adamantium derived alloy and seemed impossible to break.

The sound of yourself studying the cuffs alerted one medic that soon came to your area. He flashed a light at your eyes and placed a stethoscope on your two hearts.

"Irregular heartbeat...could possibly denote high adrenaline levels. You aren't calmed yet, you better stay there for some more hours until you get bored enough to calmly work with us."

"No, wait! I have two hearts...I'm calmed I really am."

The medic went towards his colleague and shortly after the two were listening to your heart, each with a stethoscope. After a while they seemed to think that it was true and agreed to liberate you.

"Your pardon has been revoked."

Just another thing that added to the pile of bad things that happened to you today.

"Where is Arandano?"

"We needed to activate some cameras and weapons, she's with the Marine, she can't be safer."

The sound of banging metal and distant explosions echoed across the corridors towards the room you all were at.

"What was that?"

"There is something out there attacking us and trying to breach the door. Arandano is trying to activate the outer cameras and install weapon systems for them to attack the possible intruders, we don't know what they are yet."

"Oh I can tell you, surely Orks or Traitor Marines..."

The medics seemed to shiver when they heard the second faction.
>>
>>42722886
"We have a visual!"

You walked towards a holographic screen and saw several things. It wasn't the Orks or the Angels of Ecstasy but both at the same time, apparently they had created some kind of truce against their common enemy, the Eldar.

At the same time one camera recorded one Eldar spacecraft of small size, possibly with only one person in its interior. You kept your mouth shut as you saw the Eldar Esciallan pilot towards his Craftworld to tell his kin about the catastrophe that was coming.

The Orks were covering entire parts of the Hulk with supersized explosives and lines of mines, some outer parts of the Hulk were also started to get covered in some ethereal violet pink fire that was supernatural in nature, that same fire engulfed the many engines of the Hulk and overcharged their already potent thrust, making the entire ferric monstrosity advance even faster.

"They have joined...the Marines are going to push the Hulk and cover it in warpfire, the Orks are going to fragment it and turn it into thousands of Roks that will rain over the Craftworld like a meteor rain..."

"As long as those explosive or fire don't affect our position it isn't our problem!" Said the Captain.
>>

>"Your pardon has been revoked."
Fucking Why?
>>
>>42722917
Only dead racers and the ones who win are pardoned, since he died for some time he was considered pardoned, now that they know that hes among the living once again his pardon has been revoked.

>>42722904

Shortly after Arandano and the Astartes returned, successful from their mission.

"We cannot sacrifice this Explorator Cruiser!" You yelled, desperately trying to kick some nostalgia on Arandano and trying to get her on your side.

"We will if it is of our interests!" The stubborn captain added.

"There are other options..." Arandano said. "We can try to dislodge the ship from the Hulk, the engines aren't damaged after all. We will save a great hoard of tech from alien and heretical hands!"

"Or we could simply blow those same engines and send all to hell. Obviously after moving to safety." Said the demoman.

"There isn't any safety out there!" You yelled, being the only one that knew what lied ahead.

What should you do?

>Take the Cruiser out of the Hulk towards safety. It will have to shoot its way out and to safety, this will also need the presence of a techpriest and some personnel to endure survivality. Half of the team and Arandano would abandon.
>Go out of the ship and explode the Engines, this will take a great chunk of the Hulk and possibly make the survival chances of the third race greater as there will be less Orks or Chaos Space Marines to deal with.
>Stay on the ship. Use its forges to create a Magnus Opus that will be fast and deadly. The Ultimate race vehicle.

We have 11 people a good truk only needs 3-6, we can make something nice and have it touch down from the ship.
Also I thought it meant they weren't going to pardon us at all. They'd better have put Alaria's adoption on hold or lord help them.

The presence of the third team implys that the inquisitor is still nearby and watching.

The only way out of this shit is to win, so we had better get to it. We already have the ships data stored so this wreck is not really valuble anymore apart from its tech.
