You decide to just wander around the village, maybe it'll clear your mind.

As you walk around, you notice that all the damage from the attack has long since been fixed. The police go about their patrols, politely greeting people they pass by. Children run back and forth, laughing. You feel like you really get a sense of what it is that your teacher wanted to protect.

As your head starts to clear, you also notice that it's about lunchtime, and people are heading into various stalls to grab a bite to eat. Nearby, you see a ramen stand, "Ichiraku". You think you've head the name before.

As you approach, you see the stall totally packed. In one of the seats, you see a familiar face. It's Sai, from your class. He's talking to one of the employees while holding what seems to be a joke book.

"You don't have to worry about me, Ayame." Sai says before looking down at his book. "Making all these noodles for the lunch rush, you're stretched thin as it is."

The woman chuckles and goes to serve someone else, while Sai jots something down in his notebook, same emotionless face as ever. Once he's done writing, he turns and sees you.

"Ah, it's you." he says with his monotone voice. "It's been quite a while, Kon."

Part of the reason the Third was such a beast was he had excellent chakra control, and that let him use powerful ninjutsu very effectively even into old age.

Okay, so I went to sleep in the middle of the weapon discussion last night, after pointing out that just about any weapon we find, no matter how cool, will be inferior to having Enma go all power pole.
The reason that's relevant is that if we master the use of the staff, those skills will carry over and we'll be better when using him in that capacity. Whereas if we were to train with a sword, then the skills wouldn't carry over as much.

Just because the Third was once amazing with Enma doesn't mean that we should expect it to work that well for us. Instead we should be looking at what could work specifically for Kon.

Example: "Hiding with Camouflage". Turn invisible to set traps and position ourselves to finish an opponent with a more powerful technique with the least risk. It's perfect for Kon, but it's not even on anyone's radar because it's not Summoning or Impact release.

Using Zabuza's sword means we're either wasting time buffing strength, or we're wasting our chakra to lug it around, because people are forgetting how Tsunade's shit worked. Summoning Enma is the same shit, wasting our Chakra to have a cool weapon is silly.

Kon is explosions and traps. We may have a fun release, but focusing on that entirely devalues the character.

I don't know, I think it can be used for non-impact strength, too. Tsunade's strong enough to lift and wield weapons sized for summons. Granted, she does have a Strength score of 5, so she's pretty damn strong even without her jutsu, but I'm not sure Strength 5 is that strong. Maybe it's an application of her medical jutsu letting her supercharge her muscles, or something.

We can't really say it's not in character because Kon's never had a reason to think about revenge, before. This is the first time someone he's cared about has died on him, and he was right there when it happened. I think wanting revenge is reasonable. It shouldn't be all-consuming, but it would fit with being a goal for him.

When you arrive, your uncle gives you a sly grin and has a laugh at your expense before serving up your meal. As you eat, the two of you talk about various things, training and missions and such.

"I suppose not." Tenten notes. "But we could always spar anytime. I'm pretty sure you'd wipe the floor with me anyway though, so I'm not even sure if I want it now."

The two of you soon finish eating. It's just about curfew now.
