PREVIOUSLY ON MAGICAL GIRL LIBERTY: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?searchall=Magical+Girl+Liberty

You throw Knives out of your way, sending her rolling to the ground. That was surprisingly easy. This ice armor is amazing! Meanwhile, Winter is going to town, punching, throwing, or crushing Stosstruppen left and right. Winter’s plan is going quite smoothly now, you almost feel bad for doubting her.

Knives quickly stands back up and pulls a radio off of her belt. “Okay, looks like I need to warm your heart a little, Liberty!” She yells into the radio. “Achtung! Los!” The Zep’s hangar bay opens up, and a pair of searchlights fall upon you and Winter. The Stosstruppen fall on back to cover. Oh boy, you’ve got a fight coming on your hands!

Out of the hangar drops a huge crate, tank sized. The sides collapse down, revealing a steely grey light tank. A Panzer II with a glowing barrel for rapid anti-magic suppression. The turret was enlarged, and at the back of the engine was a fuel tank for the flamethrower secondary armament. You have not encountered this particular type before, but Bomber’s already read up all about it and told you.

> PANZER II AUSF. D2 “Wiesel” <
> Panzer II Ausf. D armed with a rapid fire Anti-Magic cannon and a coaxial flamethrower. <

Well, tanks for everything, Bomber.

The turret spins, spewing liquid flames at you and Winter. You can already feel the ice melting furiously just by being near the darn thing. The dirt field and parts of the house were now ablaze. Smoke was starting to fill the air, which at least gave you some cover from the Wiesel. Chalk it up to Knives to mess up something as simple as deploying a flamethrower tank against two girls wearing ice for armor.

Still, this ice isn’t exactly regular ice. It’s magic ice! It’s not going to melt very quickly, but with that Wiesel still out there, it’s not going to last either.

But on the other hand, you may have already disrupted their operations enough to allow Lightning, Bomber, the Doc, and his girls to escape. You might want to beat a hasty retreat. Especially because this isn’t ALL they can deploy against you two.

“Is a flamethrower all you have against me!?” yells Winter. “I will show you!” She starts rushing at the tank, hammer held high. Good grief.

> Pull Winter back. It’s time to beat a hasty retreat.
> Pull Winter back. That’s not how you fight a flamethrower tank.

So, freeze the tank's outer walls protecting its gas cargo then smash the metal while it's brittle? Or first do we try to compromise its treads?
>>
> Pull Winter back. That’s not how you fight a flamethrower tank.

You jump up and push Winter out of the way. “Hey! What is matter!?” she yells at you.

“You’re going to get yourself killed!” you yell. You point to the flamethrower tank, wandering about, still spewing flames about. “Judging by what it’s doing, it can’t see us! We have to do this the stealthy way!”

“Stealthy. Hmph.” She scoffs, turning her nose up. You can see the ice armor plates she’s wearing sweating bullets as if it were a Texas summer. “Coward’s way.” You roll your eyes, then grab her wrist and bring her low to the ground. You’re going to do this right, and you’re going to do this the sneaky way. Nuts to what she thinks is cowardly. The smoke and smog is already starting to drop down to the ground. Which is giving you good cover. And it doesn’t seem like the tank is being supported by any of the Stosstruppen. You’ve got a golden opportunity.

You send Winter off to the tank’s rear. As for you, you’re going directly for the front. You charge up, getting the tank gunner’s attention. The turret spins around and fires off a burst of anti-magic pellets. The shots smash off a piece of your ice armor. You could just feel the simmer heat of it breeze off of your skin. But you’re okay, for now. You spin up your shield and smash it against the Panzer II’s armor.

No damage!

“Ha!” Winter jumps up, smashing the flamethrower fuel tank to bits, and spraying liquid fuel all over the place. The tank reverses, with Winter still on it. She crouches, holding on as the tank tries to shake Winter off the back.

This is your chance!

So am I. I really don't know what I'm doing with this dice roll system so if any of you guys have suggestions, please feel free to let me know.
>>
>>42582782
>>42582792
Well, that's nice.
>>
>>42582799

I guess it'll work until it doesn't. I'm not really an expert of statistics or anything. So it's a little hard to tell how much this jackpot system works in our favor. Honestly, I was kind of fine with rolls not being involved at all, and wouldn't be offended if we went back to that. Still, I can only speak for myself.
>>
>>42582799
Honestly, I kinda preferred the best of 3 d20 system just for simplicity's sake. But if you want to keep this system then it's fine.
>>
>>42582799
I like it. Not sure whether it's balanced though.
>>
>>42582799
Based on google search, it seems that rolling 4d10 looking for matches, you have a ~43% chance for a pair (like 1-1), a ~4% chance for three (like 1-1-1) and a ~0.1% chance for four (like 1-1-1-1).
>>
>>42583126

Sounds about right. The really troubling thing is that this system marks everything outside that 45% success zone as a critical failure.
>>
>>42583182
Might want to redefine crit then, maybe looking at the lowest dice when no pair is rolled. And/or do 5d10 instead, the chance of no matches on that drops to ~30%.
>>
Rolled 6, 9, 9, 3, 9 = 36 (5d10)

>>42583254

I don't know. More dice isn't always better.
>>
> MINOR SUCCESS <

“Winter! Get off!” you yell. She nods, leaping off of the tank and rolling to safety. You’re about to make a calculated risk! As the tank reverses, you jump over the side and grab onto the back. Fuel is splattered all over the engine bay and across the turret. Good, good. You spin up your shield and slam the end of it down on the engine block. You’re not trying to saw through the engine mind you, that’d be stupid.

No, what you’re trying to do is set the entire thing on fire.

A spark shoots out from the point of contact. Good! It lands in a pool of gas! Extra good! And it immediately ignites into a burst of flame! Right next to you!

Okay, not as good, but that’s what you wanted! You quickly crawl off and leap for safety, right next to Winter. The tank keeps on reversing, its engine block and now its turret in flames. You have to wonder why the crew isn’t trying to escape despite the tank being on fire. But then you realize Knives is in charge. Maybe she locked them in so they wouldn’t escape. You wouldn’t put it past her.

Winter stands up, as do you. “Ha! Is that the best they got?” She looks over at you, then points to your shoulder. “Fire.” You look over to see that your shoulder is indeed on fire. You quickly pat it out, then realize that your armor is now pretty much melted down to thin sheets. Winter though still appears to have something still usable. Still, you just took down a tank! Now that will be the end of it and you can escape in the smoke and confusion!

Then you hear the familiar sound of a rocket. You both turn around to see her. She drops down, new rocketpack on her back, and now wielding an anti-magic rifle in hand. Around her face is a mask to protect against the smoke and goggles to cover her eyes. “Not so fast, girlies!” she yells.

“Who is this, now!?” yells Winter. She looks over at you. “Your new girlfriend!?” You slap Winter upside the head. Not now!

> TINY <
> Hates failure, hates losing, hates people better than her. You fit all three. <

She blasts Winter, sending her flying to the ground. “Winter!” you shout. Winter holds up a hand, signaling that she’s fine. Oh great. You tear off the now useless plates of ice armor, now fully exposed in your Magical Girl outfit.

You jump to the side and duck down from her barrage of anti-magic pellets. You look up to see her looking around, and she curiously pokes her eyes out from behind her goggles. You must have lost her in the smoke. She pulls her goggles back down and starts patrolling around for the two of you in the fire and the flames. You start crawling to Winter, who hunches over on all fours, holding her chest. “Winter!” you whisper loudly. “Are you okay!?”

She waves you off, pushing on your face. “I am okay.” She looks over at Tiny, still patrolling for you two in the fires. “How do we do this?”

“Take her on both sides.” You grab her big hammer and shove it in her hands. “You good?” She nods. “Alright, let’s go!” She tears off her now useless ice chestplate and her other ice armor plating. The two of you start sneaking around her sides as he looks for you two, fruitlessly.

Then Winter pounches. “Ha!” She smashes the hammer right where Tiny would have been. Instead Tiny dodged it and smashed Winter’s cheek with the butt of her rifle. You jump in now, trying to bash her with your shield. Nope. She steps back, blasting you with a burst for her rifle. You’re punted back, but you’re still on your feet. She holsters the rifle and pulls out a glowing anti-magic machete instead. She means to fight you girl to girl.

Fine, be that way. You rush her again, and she steps to the side and goes for a quick slash. No dice, she only catches air. Winter tries her luck again, going for another overhand smash. Tiny jumps out of the way, then slashes Winter square on the arm. “Ah!” Winter kneels, grabbing her bleeding arm. She swears in Russian, howling in pain.

Great, that just left you.

Tiny points her machete. “I cannot wait to put your Soul Ring on MY finger!” You squint, seeing two lights on either side of her. “After I cut it off from your cold dead body!”

A truck rolls up alongside her. She must have heard it, because she turns around. Right as the passenger door opens. She is smashed square in the face, flopping over unconscious. Doctor Kalbfleischer leans out, furious. “If this is vhat you call a stealthy escape, I do not want to see a loud one! Now get in!” You nod, grabbing Winter and hurrying into the back of the truck. In the back are Rana and the two Magical Girls. The pair sits quietly, apparently not understanding what’s going on. Lightning must be driving.

“Hold on!” You jump out the back and look down at the unconscious Tiny. Forget it, you are going to have some words with her. You grab her and throw her in the back. “Bomber, tie her up!” She nods, pulling a length of rope from her skirt and hogtying Tiny. “Okay, step on it!”

Lightning grins, looking back from the cab. “You got it!” She stomps the accelerator. All of you in the back fly even further back as the truck just careens out of control towards the main gate. A pair of Stosstruppen guarding the entrance try to stop you, yelling at you. But Lightning is not the kind of driver to stop just because someone told her to. She crashes right through. One of the Stosstruppen fly onto the hood, and flops off to the side, rolling on the ground.

“This is intolerable!” yells Doctor K. “Why did I let you drive!?”

“I don’t know!” Lightning laughs, keeping her foot firmly on the pedal. “Haha! Why did you!?”

Bomber screams from the back. “Please slow doooown!” A sharp turn. The magical girls and Tiny all swamp Bomber, burying her in meat and magic. You and Winter meanwhile hold on for dear life.

You look back to see headlights. Oh no, they’re giving chase! Coming at the forefront is an Sdkfz. 247 Ausf. A, with Knives poking up from the inside. She points ahead, signaling for a pair of trucks to come along either side.

Oh great, just great. As the sun sets, you’re now in a car chase. Just you wanted. One of the trucks barrels into yours. And other as well crushes against you. You’re now sandwiched between two trucks, both of which have a lot of angry Nazis who mean to get past the tarp and kill you.

“Not on my watch!” Lightning hits the brakes, hard. The truck skids to a halt. You all fly forward right into the wall. Your vision gets blurry, you must have hit your head. This is the last time you let Lightning drive! The two trucks on either side immediately veer out of control, rolling onto their sides and dumping all of their passengers by the side of the road. As for the command car.

It crashes into the back. Knives flies and lands right on top of you in the most compromising fashion. How? Your hand grabbing her chest. She looks down, just as surprised as you are, but then grins as she smiles at you. “Oooohooo…” She leans in, running a finger down your chest. “Unlike your little Jap, I do happen to have these.” She quirks her brows flirtatiously.

Before anything else can happen, Winter grabs her by the neck and the waist, and then tosses her right back into the command car. “Get back where you belong! Fascist!” You breath in relief. Thank god. You roll over onto all fours, then get back to a crouching position. Lightning again speeds the truck up again.

“I can’t breathe!” yells Bomber. Another turn, and you’re all screaming as the truck nearly overturns. Another turn like that and you’ll crash! You look back to see Knives calling in more trucks, and even a tank! They’re all right behind her command car now.

> “Lightning, FASTER FASTER!”

You bang on the driver’s cabin. “Faster, Lightning, faster!” you scream.

“This is a truck, not an airplane you dolt!” Lightning yells back.

“Faster!” yells Doctor Kalbfleischer.

“Not you too!”

The truck speeds up as fast as it can down the dirt road. Thankfully it’s starting to straighten out as you approach Calcutta in the distance. You look back to see the trucks barely managing to keep pursuit, but not close enough for a boarding action. That’s good at least.

Then you hear something hiss by you. You look forward to see it explode in the dirt. The tank moves to the center of the party. This time it’s not one of the smaller Panzer IIs. Instead it is a full-fledged medium tank. A Panzer IV.

> PANZER IV AUSF. D <
> Medium tank, modified by the Magisch Korps to be more mobile and better armored. <

Well dang it! It fires again, missing again, but getting much closer. This time the shot blasts off the side of the road, rocking the truck. “What was that!?” yells Lightning.

“Nothing!” you say, raising your shields and blocking up the entire back end of the truck. “Keep driving!”

“There is tank behind us!” yells Winter. “Finally a challenge worth of my skill!” She thumps her fist into her palm, then flinches at the pain from her arm. “Agh! Nevermind! I will sit this out.”

“We don’t have anything big enough to beat it!” you yell.

Bomber raises her hand above the pile of cowering Magical Girls and an unconscious Tiny. “I could help!... just please help me! I can’t-“ Winter quickly throws the girls off of Bomber, then picks her up and dusts her off like a Sunday dress. “Oh, thank you, Winny!” She quickly crouch walks over to you and reaches into her skirt. “Okay, Panzer IV. Now, that will have a decent amount of armor so we’re going to need something a bit big!”

You sigh. “Bomber, I appreciate the thought, but we’re not exactly… WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!?”

“How far is it?” she asks.

“Um.” You squint, then it fires again. This time, the round deflects off your shield and explodes harmlessly above the truck. “About fifty meters and closing!”

“Good!” She squeezes the trigger.

The recoil shakes the entire truck and sends it careening out of control. From what you saw, it appears the shot actually went right through the driver’s slit and sent the Panzer IV rolling out of control off the road. But it was too late, Lightning has already lost control of the truck. “I can’t control it!” she yells. She runs off the road into the dusty wasteland. You take another peak at the front. Ah! Calcutta is getting nearer! “How’s Bomber!?”

You look back to see Bomber, dazed and confused, and her Solothurn having shaken loose from her hands and fallen out of the back of the truck. “Did I get it?” she asks. You nod, and she smiles. But then you realize that didn’t stop the other trucks.

“Step on it, lose them, Lightning!”

Lightning screams as she fights the truck for control of the wheel. It sways, bobs, and weaves along the dirt lands until she finally careens it back onto the road. That still however did not solve the issue of the Nazis following behind you. “There’s nowhere to lose them!” yells Lightning. “I suppose you could lift your skirt and distract them if you want!”

You look over at Winter, then blink. Why didn’t you do this sooner!? “Winter! Can we get an ice slick on the road!?”

She snaps her fingers. “Ha! Done!” She quickly runs over to the back, then rubs her hands together. They start glowing white with magical energy. And out of it comes a stream of cold, blasting onto the road. Now that particular stretch of road is too wet to drive on at best or at worse too frozen to even think of standing on. The command car spins out, with Knives holding onto the side. The other trucks spin out, rolling over onto their sides, or even flipping over entirely.

Knives screams out your name. “LIBERTY!” Her voice fades out into the distance as you approach the city.

You made it! By the grace of God almighty you made it!

“Here, here!” The Agent from earlier today you waves you into a secret lockup, surrounded by a huge crowd of Indians. Lightning speeds in, nearly crashing into the back wall. And in a matter of seconds, a curtain is pulled down, some wooden shrouds are slid into place, an awning is placed overhead, and merchants and other racketeers quickly start peddling their goods. Definitely not a place the Nazis will look. Thank God.

The Agent looks in the back, smiling at you. He’s accompanied by a few other compatriots as well in plainclothes. “Bloody good work, Liberty. Damn fine job!” You shake his hand as he helps you out of the truck. Winter steps out as well. “Who’s this?”

“Winter, friend of mine,” you say.

“And who are they?”

Bomber helps down the two poor Magical Girls, who appear very shaken and scared out of their minds. “Doctor K’s girls. He can explain everything. I know you were only looking to transport Doctor K but he needs these two as well. Can you do that?”

He sighs. “A bundle of surprises you are. I suppose we can.” Bomber now carries out a hogtied Tiny. She is now fully awake, and is now kicking and screaming beneath her gagged mouth. “… we’re not taking her.”

“That’s fine,” you say.

Doctor K dismounts, then shakes hands with the Agent. “Are you my ride out?” He nods. “Sehr gut.” He looks over at you, smiling. “Danke, Liberty. I am forever in your debt. If you ever need me just call me, ja?” You smile back, and then shake hands with him. Hopefully an experience like that has humbled him a little. “I shall prepare for my trip. Girls!” The two girls look over, then return to his side. “Go ahead, thank this nice girl.”

They look at you, then nod, quickly retreating behind Doctor K. One of them quietly says, “Arigatou…” You nod, then look over at Lightning, peering out from the cabin.

“It means thank you!” she says. Oh, fair enough. You smile, nodding to them. The Agent pats Doctor K on the shoulder, leading him on.

“Hold on!” Winter grabs Doctor K by the arm. “Wait a minute.” Oh God. “I do not mean to be as you capitalists say… uh… erm… sack of sads. But I am here for the Doctor!”

It goes without saying, she is getting NOTHING of the research that even hints at how to lobotomize magical girls. The last thing we want is super powered, amoral KGB without a shred of humanity left in them. Well, eh, we don't want them to have the ability to manufacture those easily anyway.

An enemy of Magical Girl Winter is an enemy of Russia.

NO ONE makes an enemy of Russia.
>>
You know, when we disarmed her, how much extra dakka did we pick up? She almost always has her jet pack and she at least had an antimagic rifle.
>>
>>42587317
There was no mention of battlefield salvage, mostly because the party was surrounded by Nazis and about to leave via truck. Besides, having Tiny's armaments in close proximity of her, even hogtied, is dangerous.
>>
>>42587350

We might have just thrown whatever she had out of the side of the truck, but that doesn't seem terribly likely. Just saying, a jetpack, a few grenades, and an anti-magic side arm could come in handy.

I'm sure there a joke about attacking Russia in winter in there somewhere. Or. since it is pre-WW2, I guess we should say the Soviets.

> “Winter. We can compromise. Maybe you can have his notes instead?”

“Look, Winter. Can we talk?” She lets go of the Doctor, and you quickly direct her to another end of the lockup. “Look, listen. I need the Doctor, okay? I know you need him too but maybe we can compromise on this. He has plenty of his research notes that you could adapt to your own uses or maybe…”

She crosses her arms, showing off the slash running down her wounded one. “Liberty. I work very hard for you. Most I request is fair condensation.”

“Compensation.”

“Da.” She nods. “I will not leave without something to satisfy me and my mission requirements to bring back scientist. Da?” You sigh, then rub at your nose. Ugh, why is she making this so difficult? “I hate for this to be hard but that is truth. Will you give scientist or not?”

“What about Tiny?” Tiny looks up from the floor, quirking her brow and glaring at the two of you. “You can have her!”

“I do not want her,” she says. “She is cute, do not get me wrong. Very cuddly cuddly, would cuddle like Lenin bear.” You tilt your head. “Is like teddy bear except for comrade Lenin. Teddy Roosevelt very good president but still capitalist all same, da?”

“Look, I-“ You stomp your foot. Ugh, you’re getting frustrated! Why is Winter making this so difficult!? How can you convince a communist to pass on a Nazi scientist!? Lightning and Bomber look at you as make the argument with her. They’re still waiting on you to ward her away as is your fashion. Ugh. “… Is there any way we could bribe you and you leave with the research notes instead?”

She scratches her chin, thinking. “… as honest a soldier of comrade Stalin I am. I am not adverse to…” She holds out her hand. “Certain monetary compensation.”

“How much?”

She scratches her chin, then looks over at Lightning, then back at you. Lightning tilts her head confusedly until she asks, “I want Lightning’s pay for this mission.” Lightning hops out of the truck, charging at Winter before Bomber quickly grabs her and holds her back.

“Why?” you ask.

Winter smirks, placing her hands on her hips. “I know you pay the little Jap a lot of money. She is greedy like filthy Ukrainian or Polish.” She shifts her eyes a bit. “No, pure Russians need no money to operate, unlike your friend!”

You scratch your chin. That’s actually not a bad deal. “Do you mean Lightning’s actual physical pay or just being paid like her?”

Winter smiles. “Paid like her. I am not cruel.” Lightning stops her fighting, then resigns to glowering at Winter. “What do you say?” Honestly, you’re not sure how to take it. #5 really isn’t going to like you spending money needlessly on bribes but this is a very important matter. Hm…

It might mean a drastic cut to your pay, and probably Lightning’s too, but you agree. “Fine.” You hold out your hand, and she shakes it vigorously. “Deal. We’ll wire you the money within the week. That good?”

“Very!” She smiles happily at you. “I am glad we could come to an agreement. As much as you are little capitalist whores, I am glad you can see reason.” You roll your eyes. “Oh, don’t roll eyes at me, I know that means!” She flicks your nose, surprising you. “Now if you excuse me, I must go tend my wounds.” She holds her arms, and nods to you, then walks away.

You walk over to Lightning and Bomber. “You handled that very nicely,” says Bomber.

“You almost gave her my pay!” yells Lightning.

“But I didn’t,” you say. “At least Winter is out of our hair for now with that bribe but that means we can’t go to any Sunday baseball games for the time being.” Bomber frowns, while Lightning looks pretty indifferent. Fine, Lightning, have it your way. “Look, the Doc is safe, we got his girls out too. Mission success!” You grin happily. “We get to go home, relax, wait for the Atlas to be decoded. Then we’re back into it.”

Bomber looks over at Tiny. “What do we do about her?” she asks.

“Well, #5 will want her for questioning,” you say.

“Liberty!” The British Agent walks up to you, tipping his cap. “I just got off the horn with SIS. We’re going to transfer the Doctor to a flight out to Greece, process him, interrogate him, learn what we can, then he’ll be transferred over to SSO operations. We’ve already chartered a flight home for the three of you…” He looks over at Tiny. “… well, four of you. She’ll have to ride in the back.”

“Great!”

And what a flight back to the United States it is. It was a DC-3, regular looking on the outside, but on the inside, pure luxury. There were four very comfortable armchairs, insulation and soundproofing from the engines, a pair of couches that can fold out into beds for even more comfiness, and warm lightning as if you could call the place home. Rana herself was already ready to call it home, snuggling in a blanket on one of the couch beds, reading a book by herself.

As for Tiny, she got stuffed into the back with all of the luggage. As nice as you are, you have to take note that the last time you took her prisoner, she did not take it very well. You don’t want to take too many risks now that you’re in the air and coming back to the US.

Sumire meanwhile was settled on the other couch, staring up at the ceiling, sipping a glass of some…

Is that wine!?

She looks over at you. “What?”

You lean over from your seat, giving a scolding look to her. “Sumire. That’s wine. You can’t drink alcohol, you’re not old enough!”

She shrugs, taking another sip. “Who’s going to stop me?” You stand up, walking over to her and swiping the glass from her hands. “Hey! Give that back!”

You put the glass on the end table next to the bottle she got it from. “Seriously, Sumire. I can’t have you breaking drinking laws, not even on an airplane that’s technically outside of United States jurisdiction. How will we look if our one of best bruisers is a raging alcoholic?”

She throws her hands up. “Hey! I don’t drink that much! Rana can vouch for me, right?”

Rana looks over, then nods, smiling. “She really doesn’t. Mostly because the wine’s expensive.”

You place your hands on your hips. Well, she’s in for a shock. “Sumire. What would you say if I were to tell you that you also have to pay for the wine on this plane?” She purses her lips, twiddling at her fingers. “That’s what I thought.” You check your watch. 1 AM on the east coast. Great, it’ll be sunrise by the time you get back to LA. You shake your head, sitting on the couch bed next to Sumire. She furiously grumbles, pouting and crossing her arms at being denied a simple drink.

“So what are we going to do with Tiny?” asks Rana. She grins. “Am I finally going to have someone to talk to about cars and guns and tanks?”

“Probably not,” you say candidly. Rana immediately deflates, her glasses slipping down her nose. “Tiny’s a prisoner, we’re going to treat her like one.”

“Oh? Not going to do this like Anneliese?” asks Sumire.

“I’d love to, but something tells me this will be different,” you say. “She’s a lot more… hateful than Anneliese. Hopefully #5 gets what he needs out of her than just lets her back into the wild or something where she can’t hurt anyone.”

Sumire sighs, and then kicks her legs up into your lap. You glower at her. What, is your lap suddenly a legrest for her now? “Figures, you can’t have your cake and eat it too.” She smirks. “I bet you think she’s cute though, she’s just adorable!”

Rana giggles. “She’s so small!” She checks her watch. “Ooooh, boy it’s getting late. Do you guys mind if I…?” She reaches for the light switch. With a nod, she has permission. The lights are switched off. “Everything’s going without a hitch! Hopefully we get back to LA and get this business with the Atlas over with!” She turns over, snuggling beneath her blanket. “Good night!”

You nod. “Good night.” You look down to see Sumire’s legs still on your lap. “… you mind?”

She blinks, then sits up. “Ooh, sorry.” She starts slipping out of her thigh high stockings.

You gently slap her up the head. “Not that! Just, give me space!” Sumire rolls her eyes, scooting away.

“You like my legs, admit it. I might eat like a pig but…” She reaches her leg up, showing it off even in the darkness of night. “You gotta admit, I take good care of them.”

“Yeah, Betty Grable would have a conniption,” you say as you take your blouse off. “… actually, Sumire. Can we talk?” She looks over, still taking her stockings off. That’s usually permission to talk. “You know, those girls back there, they’re from Japan. And, I know you’ve spent a lot of time away from the home country. And we’ve been working together a lot.”

Sumire holds up a hand. “I left the country because my parents were spineless cowards who wouldn’t say a word against the government, too spineless to keep me from being taken in by the military for study.” Oh. Well. That was easy. “Boom. No angst, no big reveal, no wishy-washy ‘wah-wah, my parents are dead’ bullcrap. It happened, okay?” She crosses her arms, frowning. “Can we move past it?”

You sigh. “Yeah.” You smile a little. “We can, I guess.”

[3/3]

“Good.” She places her other leg on your lap again. “This stocking isn’t going to take itself off.” You push it off. “Come on!” Rana turns over, apparently not asleep. “Oh, sorry, Rana, are we…?”

“No, no, it’s alright! I wasn’t asleep anyway.” She peeks her eyes from beneath her blanket. “Just, if we’re sharing life stories. I mean, growing up from the orphanage wasn’t exactly fun. And… neither was growing up on the streets. But… yeah! I’m over it! Mostly.” She shrugs.

Sumire places her head in her hands. “Aww… poor baby.” Rana giggles a little, and you can tell she’s blushing beneath that blanket of hers. “Great. Now I feel sad now. Can we do something fun before we go to bed? I don’t want to end it on this.” She again rests her leg on your lap now. Will she ever stop doing that!? “Come on, Libby, give me something fun to do!”

“I don’t know, Sumire, I mean, I’m not exactly the fun type of girl.” You place your hands on her ankle. “And I mean, gosh, you always describe me as soft so I don’t think I have much fun for you.” Sumire tilts her head, a bit of a “really?” expression to it. But then you grab her ankle tight and run your fingers against the bottom of her feet. She yelps, laughing involuntarily, trying to wrestle herself free. “Who’s going soft now? Rana, help me!”

Rana bursts out of the blanket, grabbing Sumire’s shoulders and pressing her down. “Have a taste of this Sumire!”

“No, no! Stop it! Hahahahaha! No! No! I’m not ticklish, you can’t prove it!” You prove it by wiggling your fingers along her feet. “No! Hahaha! No! You little assholes! Let me go! I’m not ticklish! Stop it! What are the pilots going to think!? Stooop! Hahahaaaa!” She wheezes out her laughter, being forced to laugh and laugh.

“Rana, her shirt!” Sumire yelps as Rana pulls up Sumire’s dress lightly, showing off Sumire’s belly to you. Perfect.

“What are you doing!? No! No!” She tries to kick at you as you let go of her feet. But nope, you always won in a fight against her. You start poking and prodding her sides rapidly. She’s practically dying of laughter now, contorting and writhing in laughing agony as you squeeze the fun out of her. “Hahaha! No more! No more! Please!”

“Say you’re soft!” you declare.

“I’m soft! I’m soft! I’m sooooft! Now let me go! Lemme go! Hahaha!”

Rana has gone to sleep, tucked beneath her blanket. Of course, you have to share the bed with Sumire, who is now lying on top of you, still panting and breathing rapidly from that ticklefest you just gave her. “… that was nice,” she says. You roll your eyes. As much as you don’t like her lying on top of you, you’ll allow it just this once. “Did you really have to go that far though?”

You pout a bit, narrowing your eyes. “You always tell me I’m going soft. How’s it feel?” You are going to admit it now. Having Sumire of all people call you soft was quite the blow to your pride. It feels nice knowing you got her to admit to being soft, even if it was under duress.

She rests her head on your chest, grumbling. “Feels bad.” She plants her tongue firmly in cheek.

“You gonna stop calling me soft?” you ask.

She contemplates it for a second, then kisses your cheek and snuggles up against your chest. “Hehehe… no.”

… dang it.

Well the probabilities were discussed up-thread. There's roughly fifty-fifty to roll between zero pairs and one pair, and minimal chances of getting three or four.
>>
>>42590547

It's hard to make an educated call on the dice system just yet, mostly because we haven't seen what a failure is going to look like. That tends to be when tempers flare and things go south. We'll just have to see.

Anyway, thanks for running. It was fun.
