Zahak spreads his membraneous wings to their full extent and settles in to coast along the updrafts of hot air rising from the desert below. The whole of Pidjata seems spread out before you, from the peaks of the distant mountains in the east to the flat expanse of water that stretches west without end. Unfortunately what draws your eye is not the breathtaking scenery, but rather a thick column of black smoke rising fom the dunes to the south.

The source of the smoke is obscured, but you can say with certainty that this is no cook fire. These lands were divided up amongst dozens, if not hundreds, of minor lords. Most of them holding little more than a watch tower and a desperate village built up around an oasis. Raids are frequent, each lord struggles to gain any advantage over their neighbors and burning down villages, the source of a lord's income, is the easiest way to do so.

The almost constant state of endemic warfare is truly unfortunate, because these lands are a vital source of food for the rest of the Shahdom. The oases which dot the sands are host to apricots, dates, figs, and olives in abundance, as well as carrots, lettuce, and leeks. Valuable spices like saffron and cumin also do well in the warm and relatively dry climate. Were these lands not so divided they could well become the wealthiest in Pidjata.

Probing Zahak's thoughts, you pose him a question. {Do you know anything about the smoke rising there, to the south?}

Zahak's thoughts are tinged with confusion when he responds. {I saw it when I was coming back from the city you wanted me to find in the east, but when I went to look all I could find were some burning trees and dead animals. There were a bunch of stone houses but nobody to live in them. I thought maybe there'd been an attack but I didn't see any dead bodies either, just camels and goats and...} Images of oxen, their throats slit and blood drained into the sands around them, flash briefly through your mind. {What are these called?}

{Oxen.} You respond. {Curious that there weren't any bodies. If it was a raid I would imagine they'd kill the villagers and stack them in the bazaar. Perhaps a lord burning his own fields to deprive a rival of whatever wealth they might have gained?} It might also be slavers, but enslaving Samjan who aren't either Aghtaki or living outside of the Shahdom's borders is strictly illegal. {Did you see anything else unusual or interesting when you were scouting the road to Nazir?}

Zahak mulls over your question for a time, before responding hesitantly. {I saw a really tall building carved from a tiny mountain, and a whole bunch of tents set up around an old tree. There were a whole bunch of them! Maybe two hundred, I couldn't count them all. There were people in them too!}

The tower carved out of a 'tiny mountain' just sounds like an old Hiacian fort. They were often constructed by Earth vatis using nothing but bedrock pulled up from beneath the sands. A massive effort requiring several days and teams of Vatis to accomplish, but magical talent and time were two things the Hiacian empire had in abbundance. It's probably been picked clean, or might have been refurbished as a modern fort for use by whatever local lord ruled there.

The tent city Zahak describes is far more unusual. That many people don't just wander around without some sort of purpose. Not unless they're a tribe of nomads, but nomads would typically craft stone shelters from the sands rather than set up tents.{Where was this old tree, Zahak?}

{I think it was...} He trails out, head turning to peer southeast. {Somewhere that way. I saw the tree and decided to rest because I'd been flying for a really long time but then when I got close I saw there were a whole bunch of people there so I had to hide.}

After perhaps an hour of flying at a slow, easy pace you have Zahak shift course. He begins flying in wide circles, more or less maintaining his position above a patch of barren desert. After less than a half hour of waiting you spot your companions trundling along the road in your carriage, Darzi and Chryssa sitting at the driver's bench. Seems they managed to escape the small mob of onlookers unscathed.

You have Zahak land in a high sand dune next to the carriage. He ends up coming in a little too fast and crashes violently into the sand, but at least this time he managed to crash feet first. The last thing you need right now is your adoptive dragon son hurting his wing.

Dismounting Zahak, you wander up to the short stone wall which lines the road on either side. As you get close Darzi raises her voice above the braying of panicked camels. “Glad to see you managed to avoid running off to endanger yourself and others long enough to grace us with your presence today.”

>Tell them you'll all be taking a brief detour a little further south than you'd planned on going, in the name of adventure. You want to look into that tent city Zahak mentioned.
To be mutually exclusive. One entails investigating only with Zahak, the other investigating with your entire party. To be fair, I did word that confusingly.

Anyone else interested in finding polymorph so that Zahak will be able to take Samjan form and chill with us in cities?

anyway, he'll need to GM water before that.

in that case we need to find it, before the quest ends, it would be fun to introduce him to our family and i wonder what he would look like in Samjan form, if he gets the body of a child, teenager or adult

The "Mysterious Tome" is a book on something called the "Shaping Arts" which seemed like they might contain something about shapeshifting. That's my bad, I forgot to update the pastebin after you first read the book.

We have other books we started to read that need reading before that one.

-Excidium
-Metal Codex
-VarVar's Notes
-Utility Effects
-Enhanced Interrogation

there are a bunch of other unread ones that are really interesting as well, such as The Serpent and the Staff, and really short ones like Devotional Booklet to Pani.

>>42544789
Hey Soma, would it be possible to switch the bodies of two creatures by grabbing their souls and switching them? How would that work with the brains of the subjects? What if we also switched their brains and healed the catastrophic nerve damage with water magic?

I know that Mik wouldn't know the answer to these questions, but would it be possible to experiment, maybe with the help of Mortia, on rats and shit? Like switch the brains and souls of 2 rats and see how they behave?
>>
>>42544892
I can't tell you what would happen, but yeah that would be a perfectly valid experiment. I'd probably even give you a point of vys for learning something about the nature of the soul's relationship to the mind.

i would be game to do head surgery and switch heads, and then do soul surgery on another two guys and switch souls, and than i would vote to go to another two and switch thier souls and heads.

What's with Darzi lately? She's not your mother, but she's certainly acting like she is. Vaulting over the low stone wall you approach the carriage so you don't have to raise your voice to be heard. “Well then prepare to be disappointed, because I'm about to propose that we endanger ourselves and others.”

Darzi, much to your surprise, simply grins rather than launching into some sort of tirade against your irresponsibility. “I had a feeling you'd say something like that. It's not fair that you're the only one who gets to have any fun, Mikhael. Why do you think we all follow you if not in the hopes of gaining wealth and fame?”

“Why, for my winning personality and endless font of generosity of course.” You give her no time to respond, though you can tell she sorely wants to. “Zahak spotted a camp further to the south of at least two hundred people, and there's a burnt out village in that same area. I think we ought to check it out, since we're pretty close to my family's lands. I don't want to let some band of raiders maraud through the countryside slaughtering innocents.” Tax paying innocents, at that.

Chryssa leans forward, peeking around Darzi's side. “You said two hundred people, at least? I doubt killing that many, even with a dragon to help us, is a reasonable goal. However, a war band of that size is bound to have some sort of supply train. If we were to put the torch to their supplies, they'd likely be forced to withdraw.”

Darzi interjects. “Either withdraw or rob from the local villages. If we really want to cripple them, we should have Mortia brew up a poison of some sort. Slip that into their water supply and they'll be harmless.”

You hold up a hand, begging pause. “Hold on, I don't actually know whether or not these are bandits. They could very well just be a tribe of Bhataki, or some other form of nomad. Let's scout out their camp before we decide upon anything rash.” Playing the voice of reason isn't really your strong suit, that's Darzi's job, but she seems uncharacteristically gung ho about all this.

Darzi smiles apologetically. “Right, sorry. Still, I think you should ask Mortia to see about whipping something up regardless. That way if they do turn out to be bandits we won't have to waste time preparing.”

>Pick at least one from each grouping.

An idea occurs to you. Chryssa has been acting odd every since she was exposed to corrupted vys in the Mines of Longia. She's the only one among your companions capable of seeing void creatures and spirits without the aid of an artifact besides you. That in mind, you reach into your cloak and pull out the thin golden band that is your Hiacian Signet Ring, the symbol of a Palaka worm biting its tail featured prominently on the front.

Peeking around Darzi you see that Chryssa's holding her bow possessively at her side, scanning the surrounding dunes for any signs of life. You cup a hand around one side of your mouth and shout to get her attention. “Chryssa!”

She whips her head around, a frown creasing her brow. She doesn't actually look at you initially, instead peering past you in search of some sort of danger. When she realizes there's no pressing threat her irritation only seems to grow. “What? What is it?”

You hold up the ring so she can get a good look at it before offering it up to her. “Wear this for a few weeks. It's enchanted to restore the wearer's sanity, I think you need it more than I at this point.”

She plucks the ring from the palm of your hand, holding it up in front of her face to inspect it before sliding it onto the middle finger of her right hand. “Fine, but I would contend that of the two of us you are still far crazier than I. Is that all?”

You nod, and she quickly turns her attention back to the desert. Hopefully over the coming weeks she'll start to calm down. She certainly wasn't this... agitated when you first met her in that old ruined guard tower. Releasing your hold on the side of the carriage you down to the paving stones, pausing only briefly to address Darzi. “I'll have Zahak fly ahead, you should just be able to follow him. If not, just keep heading south and we should reach it eventually.”

Jerking open the door to the carriage's inner compartment you're greeted by the sight of Profectus slamming his forehead repeatedly into the top of the wooden table which serves as the carriage's centerpiece. There's a massive stack of gold sitting in front of Fulvia and a significantly smaller stack sitting in front of Mortia. Profectus has absolutely no gold at all, and playing cards are scattered across the entire compartment. You can surmise that someone isn't doing particularly well.

You shut the door behind you as you climb inside. “Do you three ever do anything besides playing cards? Read books, meditate, anything at all?”

Fulvia shakes her head. “Profectus insist that he is always but one hand away from beating me. He has won zero games out of one hundred forty three so far this trip.”

You scoot into the booth which circles the table, finding a spot next to Profectus. “I'm sure you'll get her eventually, Profectus. Just keep throwing money away.” He doesn't respond, so you turn your attention to Mortia. “Do you have the ingredients you need to brew up a poison? Nothing lethal, maybe just something to give a few hundred men the shits for a week or two.”

She cocks her head to one side, staring off into space briefly before slowly nodding. “Something like that. I mean, it won't give anyone the shits but vomiting is just as well, right? Better, even. When will you need it?”

Come to think of it, you never asked how far away this place was. “A few hours? Give me a second and I'll ask.” Closing your eyes you bridge the gap between your mind and Zahak's. {Just how far away was this tent city you saw? A few hours, a day?}

Zahak clearly isn't quite certain himself. {I think a few hours? I was flying though, and I can fly really really fast! So... maybe longer if you ride in the carriage? Probably longer.}

You'll plan for about a day's travel, then. {Thanks, Zahak. Would you mind flying out ahead of the carriage? Darzi is going to be following you on the ground, so try to go slow if you can.}

He responds eagerly. {I can do that! I'll just not flap my wings so often.}

With that resolved you sever the connection. You were so absorbed in your mental conversation that you didn't notice the carriage start moving. Profectus has stopped slamming his head into the wood and is just letting it sit there for now, a marked improvement, while Fulvia struggles to pick up all the scattered cards. You turn your attention to Mortia. “Zahak says a few hours by air, so probably a day by land.”

She sticks her thumb up in the air, a gesture you can't claim to be familiar with. “I can do that, then. Shouldn't be any problem at all unless you mind breathing in poisonous fumes.” At your look of obvious concern she quickly clarifies. “They shouldn't be enough to hurt anyone, I don't think. I mean, I've sort of built up an immunity but this is one of the first recipes my mother taught me and I've never suffered any ill effects.”

You suppose you can take some small comfort from that fact.

The idea is that each meditation takes you into new and unfamiliar territory, areas of elemental magic that your previous experience hasn't prepared you for. Otherwise, why meditate?

You've no interest in pointlessly throwing your money at Fulvia, and it seems like it's been an age since you last meditated. You think you'll try that method you learned from the Metal Codex, of stripping away the outer shell of your soul and reinforcing the core. It's only because you learned that method that you were able to fight off the two spirits which tried to take over your body and use it for their own purposes. Something so useful seems worth practicing.

You're about to excuse yourself when Mortia pulls a tiny chest no larger than the palm of your hand out of a pocket on her dress. She pricks her finger on a small needle protruding from the front of the chest and then carefully lifts the lid. Curiosity piqued, you watch as she proceeds to pull out a truly implausible number of objects from so small a container. A dozen glass tubes, vials, and pouches that have no business being in there to begin with. She even pulls out a scroll obviously too large to fit inside, the damned thing is three feet long and the chest itself is barely an inch deep and half a foot across at most.

You really must ask, you're left with no other choice. “How on Earth does that little artifact of yours work? It's like a version of my cloak in miniature. Did you get that from your mother?”

She snaps the chest closed, grinning devilishly. “What, did you think you were the only practitioner of the magical arts with an multidimensional storage device? I'm sorry to disappoint you Mik, but this has been in my family for a dozen generations. I'm not quite certain how it works, but it's proven tremendously handy over the years.”

You recall the various other void creatures you've previously encountered Ricky interacting with. You wonder if each of them curates a separate artifact similar in nature to your cloak? That would mean that there are at least three others out there, if not far more.

Well, whatever. You need to focus. “Well, I'll leave you three to it then. I think I'm going to meditate. There's a technique I learned a while ago that I think really has potential to unveil brilliant new insights into the manner by with Metal magic operates.”

Fulvia smiles approvingly. “I will continue my attempts to convince Profectus that it is in his best interest to kick his gambling habit. I'm sure soon he will see that nothing good comes of betting money on frivolities like cards.”

Profectus bolts upright. “Bullshit, Fulvia! You and I both know this isn't about teaching me some sort of lesson!” He's practically shouting, but as quickly as it came his anger is forgotten. He turns to you almost pleadingly. “You sure you don't want to join in Mik? Fulvia, Mortia, and I have been playing for hours, it'll be good to get some new blood in the game.”

Mortia clears her throat, cutting you off before you could answer. “Actually, I think I'll be calling it quits. I want to focus on brewing this potion. I mean, the last thing I'd want is to add too much Syrupus Aeger and have them all drowning in their own blood, piss, and vomit within the hour. Trust me, it's not a pretty sight. Happened once when I overestimated the dosage to give a rat.”

You're a little disconcerted that she just carries something like that around, but you suppose it's serving you well here. “Sorry Prof, I really do need to meditate. It's been too long.”

He sighs in obvious disappointment, slumping back into the cushions which line the carriage bench and consigning himself to defeat at Fulvia's hands. You haul yourself into the sheltered little cubbyhole that serves as sleeping quarters. Really it's more like laying down in a coffin, but it will have to do. You make yourself as comfortable as you can manage lying down on your back and close your eyes, allowing yourself to slip into a trance.

(2/5)
>>
The world around you fades away, silence enveloping you. Slowly but surely the ebb and flow of ambient vys which pervades the world fades into view. Currents of purple, white, blue, and red fill the air around you, but only briefly. As you slip deeper into your trance these too fade away, to be replaced by endless black.

A gleaming red dot is the first thing to break the field of black. It's distant, soaring through the air ahead of the carriage. Zahak's soul. You wonder briefly why it is that a dragon's soul is so different from any other mortal being's soul. What is it that sets them apart? A question to ponder another day. Soon your own soul, as well as the souls of you companions and the souls of every living creature in a hundred mile radius snap into sharp focus.

For now you focus on your own soul, channeling Earth magic to slowly chew away at the outer shell. Just as before you find that some parts of your soul are 'softer' than others. That is to say, certain areas erode much faster than others. Thus your task becomes carefully managing where you focus your vys to avoid damaging anything terribly important.
>Vys Pool: (50/[50])

Your memories begin to slip, to grow indistinct as you chew through more and more of your souls golden outer layer. The reason you're traveling is the first thing to go. You remember that you're traveling, you just can't recall for the life of you the destination. At first you think it might have been something about a jungle, but soon even that slips through your fingers.

(3/5)
>>
The names of towns, your memories of the places you've visited, of fights you've won, all quickly follow suit. Your family and friends hang on for a good long while, but soon even their names succumb to the endless onslaught of your own Earth magic. By the time you reach the thin black shell surrounding the gleaming shard of divinity at the core of your soul all that you are, have been, or will be has been stripped away. You are nothing save the power you command. That is all that reminds when the chaff has been stripped away, and that is what will be remembered long after you're dead. Your ability to affect the world you.
Vys Pool: (1/[1])

Cutting off the flow of Earth magic you slowly begin filling the numerous gaps in the outer shell which surrounds the shard of divinity all mortals share. It seems like you're able to patch the holes much faster this time than the last time you tried meditating on this. They're smaller than they were before, significantly so. You even manage to stretch the tenuous hold you have on reality long enough to reinforce the black shell once you've finished patching it.
>Vys Pool: (0/[1])

Light flits briefly across its black surface, but then your vision starts to retract. Slowly but surely your field of view is reduced to a pinprick of light, and when even that flickers out you surrender yourself fully to unconsciousness.
>>
You're not sure how long you stay asleep, but you do know that it wasn't nearly long enough. You're awoken by someone shaking you violently by the shoulders. You've been pulled from the hole in the wall you'd been sleeping in and seated on the bench. There's a man shouting at you, but you can't interpret what it is he's saying. It all just sounds like noise to you. Actually, who on Earth are these people?

You give the stone-armed degenerate who's grabbed you by the shoulders a shove, scrabbling away from the creepy son of a bitch. How did an elf even get into your carriage? There's two human women too, and they're both speaking that same unintelligible gibberish as the elf. Are you being robbed?

Your heart is racing. Two of these disgusting animals are armed, the elf is carrying some sort of heavy sword on his hip and the woman wearing the layered robes has a gladius half hidden under her clothing. There's also an open bottle of wine sitting on the table, and three full glasses. Have these things just been drinking your liquor while you slept? What kind of monster does that?

You try to force yourself to remain calm, raising your voice and speaking slowly. “What. Do you. Want? Are. You here. To rob. Me?”

They start babbling to one another in that fucking nonsense language of theirs. Why does every single word end with the same sound? Does any word in their language not rhyme with the others? Judging just by the way they interact you'd guess that the human woman in the robes, not the one in the ugly vomit green dress, is some sort of leader. She remains calm and collected even while the elf panics and the woman tries to put some distance between you and her.

They argue for a few minutes before the human woman in the robes, the leader, speaks to you in a language you can understand. “Mikhael, you need to calm down. We're-”

You cut her off. “Pani's tits, you know my name? How? Who told you? Were you hired to kill me? Is that what this is about? What idiot hired a bunch of degenerates like you lot to kill a Grandmaster Vatis?”

The woman doesn't so much as acknowledge you've said anything. She just continues. “We're your friends, Mikhael. We're not going to hurt you.”

You cut her off. “You expect me to believe that? You think I'd associate myself with degenerates and mutants, let alone call them my friends?”

You stand, prepared to throw open the carriage door and make a run for it, when a foreign voice forces its way into your thoughts. {Mik, calm down.} It sounds masculine, but you can't place it for the life of you. {You're just confused. What happened to you? What's wrong?}

(1/2)
>>
One of them must be a Nature vatis of some sort, and a high level one at that. Telepathy doesn't usually express itself until one attains at least some modicum of Expertise in Nature magic. It's probably the elf, they've always been inclined towards Nature. Still, it's a rather strange coincidence that both the human woman and the elf both know your name. Sinking into your chair you glance between the three of them, paranoia subsiding slightly. {Why did you wake me?}

The elf sighs, rubbing his eyes wearily with his left hand, the normal hand. {Because we're fucking here, Mik! Pull yourself together! The camp, you remember? Raiders? We were going to poison their food supply. Is any of this ringing a bell?}

Frankly, no. It's not. None of this sounds in the slightest bit familiar. Come to think of it, you don't actually remember why you're in this carriage. No destination springs to mind. Are you... did you suffer some sort of head wound? You think you might have read somewhere that after receiving a concussion some people might suffer memory loss. Still, you find it hard to believe you'd call these... 'people' your friends.

The other human woman, the one in the ugly green dress, retrieves a chest of some sort from a pocket and flips it open, pulling out a vial of some sort of green substance. She babbles in that ridiculous language of theirs to the other two, and then the leader takes the vial. Holding it up for your inspection, she speaks. “Mikhael, we need you to drink this.” She hesitates, glancing suspiciously at the other woman. “It should make you feel better.”

>Clearly these people are your kidnappers. They were probably hired by the Demirs, your family's been feuding with theirs for years. Now's the perfect time to make your escape!

Oh no, no no no. You're not drinking some toxic slime a human made. “One of you take a sip first, that's the only way I'll even consider drinking that filth.”

The leader glances towards the other woman, apparently relaying your demands. The woman in the green dress starts vigorously shaking her head no. That's all the confirmation you need that this shit is more likely to kill you than help. You practically leap from the booth, slamming shoulder first into the door and throwing it open. They're shouting at you, asking you to wait, but you're not having any of that.

You stumble almost immediately, your foot sinking into the sands of the desert. Where on Earth are you? This isn't El-Amin! You plod a few steps further away from the carriage before a woman slams into you from above. You fall to the ground, a hand clasped firmly over your mouth to muffle your screams. You try to struggle but the woman's grip is vice-like, you can barely move at all.

Channeling vys you press a hand into her ribs, discharging a paralysis spell. Rather than immediately lock in place she starts struggling to her feet, turning to face the carriage. There's another woman, a Samjan woman sitting at the driver's bench. She's almost unbelievably gorgeous, a woman without equal. Chocolate colored skin and long, black hair draping down past her shoulders. Fit and muscular while maintaining a pleasing feminine softness...
>Vys Pool: (2/[3])

You can only assume she's some sort of servant. A driver, perhaps? Cowed into cooperating by this brute of a woman holding you in place no doubt. If you can't even remember the name of a woman as gorgeous as she, these degenerates must have nearly killed you with that strike to the head.
(1/3)
>>
She ties the camels' reins around a bar stretching along in front of the driver's bench before swiftly dismounting, landing with a certain easy grace in the sands below. “Everything's going to be okay, Mikhael. Just stay calm, nobody's going to hurt you. I promise.”

Gods above, her voice is like honey. You wonder what they threatened to do if she refused to cooperate? It must have truly been something awful. Fortunately your paralysis spell has fully taken hold of this brutish oaf. When your other attackers pile out of the carriage, the human woman in robes holding the vial of poison, you kick your feet into the sand. It's not much, but it's enough to knock the woman holding you in place off balance. Since she's paralyzed she can't correct, and so goes tumbling back into the sands.

The momentum from the fall is just barely enough to provide you an opportunity for escape. You manage to get a hand free, and from there prying her arm from around your waist is a simple matter. The elf makes a grab for you but you're too fast. You set off at a dead sprint away from your carriage. It's a shame you have to leave your servant behind, but sacrifices had to be made.

You don't get far before an overwhelming sense of calm, of safety, starts to assault your mind. Your legs slow and will falters, the voice of your adoptive son filling your thoughts. {Papa, what's wrong? Why are you running from everyone? Did they do something?}

His head pops up from behind a rocky outcrop, just a few feet in front of you. {Darzi said that we have to be quiet because if we're not we might alert the camp that we're here and that would be bad.}
(2/3)
>>
You remember Zahak. You remember you hatched him from an egg... though you don't recall how you came to be in possession of a dragon egg in the first place. He's barely a few months old but already large enough for you to ride on his back. Did he follow you here? Who's this 'Darzi' person he's talking about? Sounds like the name of a Bhataki, and the Gods know those dirty thieves are almost as bad as humans.

>Quickly! Mount up on Zahak's back! They'll never catch you in the air!
>Okay, clearly something isn't quite right here. Ask him if he knows these disgusting degenerates.
>You've had just about as much of this bullshit as you can handle. Loudly demand answers from these people!

Aye. Us being "cuh-razy" and giving no shits was kinda stale but this I can enjoy. And I mean at this point the gang should really expect this kinda shit from Mik. "Mik lost his marbles/nearly killed himself/awoke an ancient evil? Is it Tuesday already?"
>>
>>42551638
>But to me, it was Tuesday.
>>
If we think we got hit in the head so hard we can't remember shit, why don't we just try to heal ourselves?

Something is wrong here. That much is becoming increasingly clear to you. All these weird foreigners know who you are and what your name is. Thinking back on it why would they have woken you up just to poison you? You suppose it's not impossible that you over reacted. {Zahak, do you know these degenerates? What are they doing in my carriage? What are we doing here?}

You can tell he's confused. It rolls off of him in waves. {What do you mean degenerates? They're our friends, aren't they? Profectus, Chryssa, Darzi, Mortia, Fulvia, Skull Kid... um, that other lady with the weird arm like Profectus. They take care of me when you're not around.}

You glance over your shoulder, only just now noticing that the woman who tackled you has ram's horns sticking out of her forehead. Pani's tits, is this really the sort of company you keep? Where did your life go so wrong? What did you do to deserve this sort of torment?

A thought occurs to you. {So where is this camp that everyone keeps mentioning? We're supposed to poison it or something?}

Zahak extends his neck, pointing his snout towards the carriage and the assembled medley of freaks that you apparently call, of all things, 'friends'. The thought disgust you. Turning sharply on your heels you march towards them, brushing past and up the slope of a sand dune.

Peeking over the top you're presented with a vast field of white tents stretched out along the banks of a dry riverbed. You seem to be on a raised hill maybe a mile away, at the perfect vantage point to see the goings on of the camp. The command tent is placed in the very center, identifiable only because it's much larger than any of the other tents in the camp. A make-shift training yard has been set up at one end, and at the other cages are lined up end to end. Each one contains five or six Samjan, most of them women and children. These aren't foreign slaves, these looks like villagers.

The pretty woman's voice filters through your thoughts. Is she a Nature vatis too? {That's why I told Profectus to wake you, they're slavers. Probably Aghtaki. We have to do something, while we still have the chance. Tomorrow, who knows where those people could be?}

Archives are here. Next thread Friday.
Just think, I thought we'd reach Nazir this thread. How naive was I?

Thanks go out to the sup/tg admin for fixing the archives of the last few threads.

Oi, if you're still around I just wanna say that I love it. My only complaint is that the links to the chapters should be on the left side, and then the FAQ on the right.
Then again, I have a massive screen. Other than that it reads real well.

Man, time to go full illusionist and sneak through the camp paralyzing bitches. We should totes scout for Vatis first though.

Or offer to buy a bunch of people, getting these degenerate friends of ours to pretend to be slaves we already own. Get in nice and close, then call in the Dragon with Profectus blasting fireballs everywhere while Fulvia releases her built up Vys in streams of horrific destruction everywhere.

I assume she's been building it up for a while, because she ain't been doing shit else and she's efficient.

Nah. Rebrand ourself. ask to join, then speak with the leader, then kill the leader and claim leadership.

Then we march them to the gates of elamin, heal our brand and give Kadir a call.

Last thread, did you really all leave the dragon corpse in the desert? Including all the pretty scales and such?
>>
>>42554255
Mortia or Fulvia took some scales
