“Wait a minute, I want you to answer me with the truth for once,” Aurora suddenly interrupts your chain of thought, “Who are you? Who are you working for? And what are you really doing?”

Aurora’s outburst has interested Vicky in the very same things now. You can tell from how afraid of the researchers Aurora is what and how you answer her has a chance of causing her to panic and try to escape.


Hestia would probably just ask if you think you can really trust them then tell you to do whatever you want to since the plans can be easily changed to accommodate your choice. Both Aurora and Vicky want the explanation and they both have easy enough ways to keep them in line, so for one or both of them you could –

A few things to add, this casino will be a great test bed for currency reseach.

Also we need to start putting our reseachers into training schedules. Mostly schooling so they can all start raising their intelligence, with some physical training thrown in.

Yes, but Hestia can't communicate into a time dilation bubble. So, even if they were in time bubbles, Hestia would have been unable to learn what developments have occurred and been able to filter through the data for an accurate report yet.

To expand on this alittle, our reseachers are hitting a wall on what they can do, their low intelligence is limiting them (it's under 20 for almost all of them right?) which is why I have the idea to implement mandatory training so they're not all just sitting around getting drunk.

Say like 60% of their time in schooling, 20% training, 20% free time/ hobby projects.

New reseach:
-Teleportation blocking/control to stop people from just appearing in the pit whenever the fuck they want. (the whole pit, not just our city)

-Communications, through distance, demensions, time distortions, and other realms. We need to inhance these so we can keep incontact with Hestia no matter where we are.

New projects:
2nd level hell city. Let's work with Tslah and Hestia to rebuild the 2nd level for her to manage.

We also need to continue to fortify it against any unruly demons coming up from the lower planes just to cause havok

This anon actually is right, your current research is so advanced that only Hestia can do work on it. So with all the other stuff she does it is slow going. The researchers are still developing implants and genetics stuff off screen but they are not good enough to pull if off in a few hours.

"I can understand that you want some answers, but in front of the Don’s right hand makes this not the best of times or places,” You tell Aurora.

Vicky understands this as just good business sense, but Aurora is starting to panic a bit.


“Have you heard about Director Snow throwing a guy into the pit?”

Neither of them know about this.


“Have you heard about what is going on in hell?”

This they also know nothing of.


“Have you heard about the research rings falling?”

Aurora is a bit worried about you mentioning –them- so casually.

“A lot of poor saps lost a ton of their money after being fired, you has something to do with it then?” Vicky asks.

“You could say that, they fired everyone in the upper ring then dropped them all because of my work there,” you say.

“You attacked them?” Aurora asks, she is confused but is still getting more panicked.

“Yea, that seems a bit off,” Vicky agrees, “there would be rumors about that going around if it happened.”


“We think the higher ups enforced an information blackout,” you tell them, “that should be enough information for now since we have a casino to deal with.”


You pull out the laptop and set it on the Don’s desk, you prepare it with the hopes that Hestia will play along with this once again.

“Vicky we are going to have you continue to run the casino, but full control will be given to my partner here,” you explain.


“That will be acceptable, however changes will need to be made,” Hestia does her lip syncing routine over the laptop, “I suggest immediately implementing your cards as a first step, so I will require a set to enable replication of their functions.”

“Is it true mystery lady?” Aurora asks, “Did the research rings really fall because of what you did?”

“I would not share such information with you at this time, but since you have already been told that much,” Hestia pauses for a moment, “yes, our activities have caused the rings to be abandoned and then destroyed by dropping them into the pit.”


This calms Aurora down a lot, she trusts Hestia more than you without even really meeting her.


“So what that’s it? Just keep working and listen to the lady who will not even show up in person?” Vicky asks.

“I am very busy, perhaps I will schedule a face to face meeting in a few days,” Hestia responds, “if you want to use this location as a second base of operations please make the needed preparations.”

“Do you have any suggestions on a location for it?” You ask Hestia.

“Scans of the casino are nearly complete, my suggestion would be somewhere on the six floor or even below the casino to ensure security,” Hestia replies.


“This will not cause damage to casino operation will it?” Vicky asks you, she doesn’t really care what you’re doing.

“No, but it would be for the best if you could gather up those who are important to this organization so we can make this transition as smooth as possible.”

“What if we set an ambush for you both instead?” She asks, not seriously considering it.

“Since he has bullet proof clothes, that seems like a bad idea for you,” Aurora tells Vicky.


“After seeing this I wouldn’t doubt it,” Vicky gestures to the corpses, “I’ll get the guys together for a meeting.”


Once she leaves Aurora’s mind returns to wanting to extract your secret plans from you, so she can determine if you are with –them- or not.


“Is this the same secret thing that you did at my place?” Aurora asks, “Can I see this time?”

Hestia displays a map of the casino areas scanned so far, she has highlighted some large rooms on this floor some distance away from the elevator. They look large enough to create a secure room for the portal.


"What do I get for letting you watch?" You ask Aurora, “It is a pretty big secret.”

Aurora thinks about that for a moment.

“Well it can’t be bigger than my secret,” Aurora says, “I can think about something though.”

As she starts thinking about all the different places she has stolen from, you take the laptop.


After you leave the Don’s office to find a someplace to securely keep the portal a group of men in suits come running towards you. They hurriedly move off to one side to let you pass and then go to dispose of the bodies.


“Hey what about force fields?” Aurora asks, “I know you are doing this bullet proof thing but force fields are good right? I know a guy who can get them and with this casino you can afford to buy one.”

“I doubt that they will be useful,” You tell her.

“What? Not just anyone can get them, you know. Oh! How about robots? There is a guy that makes robots, mystery lady uses robots so that’s good right?”

“Her drones are probably much better.”

“You are not making this easy, but what about hover technology? There is a guy that makes hover boards, just don’t steal them. I found out the hard way that they have remote shutdowns.”

“We can make our own if we wanted to.”

“Wait really? How much does that cost you? I’d buy one,” Aurora can’t really think of anything better than that to offer you.


“Alright, just calm down for a moment,” You tell her, “Let’s see if this room is good enough.”

You found a large storage warehouse, it has a connection to the floor above and is filled with a massive back stock of alcohol, from the equipment here it looks like they make some of their own.


“With two points of entry this room is one of the best locations,” Hestia notes over the laptop, “the size allows for reinforcement and security to be properly built.”


“We can expand later if needed, this will do for now,” you tell Hestia.

“What are you even talking about?” Aurora asks, “what security do you even need?”


“Are you going to allow her to watch?” Hestia asks you.

“Might as well, it will make things easier for future operations.”

“Then please arrange the supplies for construction.”


Aurora is just confused as you arrange the materials needed for Hestia to create a small mirror portal. The scanning probes charge nearly instantly with the relay already in place at Aurora’s outpost.


Aurora gasps when the portal forms and drones begin to come through to start construction.

“Is that a teleporter?” Aurora asks.

“No, it is a portal. With this we can begin reconstruction of the casino.”

“So, Evangeline went through one that you built at my place?” Aurora wonders, “What is on the other side? Can I see?”

“I think that you’ve seen enough for now, for now we need to meet with Vicky’s group,” you tell her.

“The pit, hell and research rings,” Aurora thinks out loud, “I wonder what is on the other side.”

"If I do let you go through later you will be working for me and I expect you to keep it a secret."

“You think you can afford to hire me?” Aurora laughs, “I work for myself because no one can afford me.”

“Are you sure?” You ask her, “I thought it was more to do with your bounty.”


Aurora can’t argue with that so she stays silent as you make your way back towards the Don’s office.


A terrified man is waiting outside for you, he is one of the men who disposed of the bodies.

“Everyone is gathered inside for you,” he tells you before leaving as fast as he can.


The don’s office has four new people inside it. A dancer, an old bartender, a sleazy looking man and another guy outfitted with combat gear are gathered with Vicky.


“There they are then,” Vicky says introducing everyone, “the new boss and we have the four leaders of the operation here.”

“New boss this some sort of joke Vicky?” The combat gear guy asks and he pulls a gun on you.

“Just because he killed the Don doesn’t make him the boss here,” he says and shoots you.


The bullet ricochets off of you, the dancer woman screams as the bullet nearly hits her.

Then we ask "Anyone else say, I'm not the new boss?"

We really need to frame the deeds to hell and put them up in our office. It would be a fantastic intimidation method.

It makes you sigh in annoyance, everyone seems to attack first and ask questions later. So you flick the man’s chest, you feel as his life is nearly ended when he slams into the wall with all his ribs shattered. He’ll live probably.

Everyone but the old bartender is shocked by what you just did. The old man simply thinks that this is exactly why he warned not to take that hit out on the Burgess girl.


"Anyone else say, I'm not the new boss?" You ask the gathered people.

They are all a bit too stunned to reply.

“Vicky will be running things for now, but I plan on changing a few things around here. The transition period will hopefully be smooth from now on,” you explain to them.


“As long as I still get paid, I’m too old to care,” the bartender decides, and the others mummer along in agreement.

“Good then you all can go back to do your jobs,” you tell them.


After a few guys are called in to take the injured man away Vicky comes to speak with you.

“That worked out better than I thought, being bullet proof has its advantages I suppose,” she says, “if you need anything at all, just ask and I’ll take care of it.”


She then leaves to keep the casino running, but her thoughts indicate she did mean anything.


“So that’s a thing then,” Aurora says, “what now though?”

After we talk to the orange tribe I wanna ask Vicky to look for Richie the letter we were asked to deliver

“We should go back to the orange goblins,” You tell Aurora.

“Goblins again? Is that what you have on the other side of your portals then, goblins?” Aurora asks.

“Yes, now let’s get moving.”


The elevator quickly takes you back to the first floor of the casino and around the side you find the goblin scouts still waiting around for your return.

“Yous done now? Go back to tribe?” They ask when you arrive.

“Yes we are going back again for some reason,” Aurora tells the goblins.


On the trip back to the orange tribe Aurora wonders if maybe she can trust you enough to share information about her secret with you. It has always gotten her betrayed in the past though so she isn’t so sure.


“Yous back chief,” the goblins say and leave you alone to wander the encampment when you arrive.


You find the shaman directing the tribe for future raids, they are very short on food and water due to the Don’s restrictions and pressure from the blues above.


“Yous back already?” the shaman asks, “Don still trouble for the tribe?”

“No he is dead and I have taken control of the casino,” you tell them.

“This is more than yous expected to do.”


“Is the tribe ready to move to be with the others?”

“The fallen ones? Is not time yet, yous needs to first bring peace to the blues.”

“How can I stop their raids?”

“Yous kill Don’s huge goblin easy, just fight blue’s chief and then tribe follow you.”


“So we have to kill more goblins to save the goblins?” Aurora asks.

“Seems like it,” you tell her, “worked before so it should be fine now as well.”

“Do you know where the blue tribe is located at?” You ask the shaman.

“Blue too strong, tribe never get close,” the shaman says.

“Good thing you have me then right?” Aurora asks, “They try to attack my place all the time. We can just wait for an attack and follow them back.”


“How often do they attack?” You ask her.

“Every month or so maybe?”

“At that rate I would rather just look for them.”


“Tribe can send scouts, yous need help to find blues?” The shaman asks.

“How far have the scouts been while trying to find the blues?”

“Scouts go up maybe thirty times before too many blues to go more.”


If that is the case then the blue tribe is closer to Aurora’s outpost than the orange tribe encampment.


“No scouts, I can find the way alone. The blues could become angered if they see another tribe,” you tell the shaman.

“Yous smart and strong, all tribe follow you as chief soon,” the shaman decides.


“Before we leave, do you know anything about the white tribe?” You ask the shaman.

“Tribe not talk with whites since nearly when the fallen fell.”

“Then I will return when I have stopped the blues raids.”

“Good, yous strong enough to stop them, tribe not be hungry for longer then.”


Aurora is not looking forward to walking to the elevator again.

It seems like I confused everyone with my poor descriptions.


The casino and main elevator for this section are in opposite directions. You can’t go to both.

“We will take the tribes’s rail car back to the casino,” you say, “the scouts that come with us can return by themselves.”

“Back and forth?” Aurora complains, “better than walking but you’re going to make me dizy.”


One eventless trip later you return to the casino, you see the goblins off as they return the railcar back to the tribe.


“So why did we come back here?” Aurora asks genuinely confused.

“We can get a cab to the main elevator or take a portal up to find the blue tribe from here.”

“If we get to see your secret portal stuff I’m sold!” Aurora says happily.


You notice a few of the guards lean together and talk with each other when you walk through the casino door, but they don’t do anything more.

You don’t know if they have heard the news or not yet so you just go to find Vicky.

Finding the office again is easy enough but she isn’t here right now, one of Hestia’s drones spins idly though.


“I don’t know how serious of a problem cheating is here, but let’s go ahead with your plan to implement the enchantments on the cards,” you tell the drone.

“Very well, the enchantment will be studied and replicated as soon as possible,” The drone channels Hestia’s voice.

“Wow, for being so busy you sure do respond to him quickly,” Aurora says while wondering what your relationship with Hestia and Evangeline is.


“Are you looking for Vicky, the staff has already told her of your presence, she will arrive shortly,” Hestia ignores Aurora.

“I will place it in the being built to hold them while you wait,” Hestia tells you.


You wait in the office for Vicky to arrive. Aurora pokes around at the belongings of the now dead Don that have not yet been cleared.

Aurora takes several gold things the Don had and stashes them away to somewhere, not pockets or pouches but rather the stuff just vanishes. She notices that you noticed she was up to something.

“What? I wasn’t doing anything,” Aurora says.

“You should at least ask before taking things, there could be a hidden key to open a vault,” you tell her.

“The Don kept all his wealth in plain view,” Vicky says when she finally arrives, “in case you couldn’t see from all the gold everywhere.”

“Back so soon, did you need something then?” She asks you.

She laughs at this.


“Oh, you’re serious? She asks and laughs harder.


Aurora shifts uncomfortably, even she thinks your request is a bit silly.


“Is there some problem with this request?”


“Do you even know how many people have that name?” Vicky asks.


“There cannot be that many,” you say, “just find them and I want to know if they know Doctor Marissa Harrington.”


“This is going to take forever you realize that right?” Vicky asks you, “What floor does he live on, even that much would help narrow it down.”

“I have no idea but I’m sure that you have the contacts to make it happen.”


“This seems like a wild goose chase but I will get some men on it.”


“As long as it takes to find him its fine, I doubt the men will care about getting paid for doing what even you think is nothing.”

Vicky wonders for a moment if it’s him, nah, just a coincidence surely.

“Alright whatever, it’s your money you’re wasting on this anyways,” Vicky says, “Anything else crazy like this you need done?”

“No that is all for now,” you dismiss Vicky to get the search started.


You then take Aurora back to the alcohol storage room, Hestia has already rearranged the room for your portal to Aurora’s outpost to be set up against the wall. Drones move about transporting crates of booze through the portals to clear space to reinforce the room.

“So how does this work?” Aurora asks.

“Magic, just walk through,” you tell her and enter the portal.


A few minutes later Aurora finally comes through.


“No way, we really are back here?” Aurora asks, she is amazed by the portals.

“We should sell these things, we could make a fortune!” Aurora announces.


“We need to find the blue goblins, not worry about getting rich.”


“Why not do both?”


“We need a vehicle, the blue tribe could be up to twenty floors down,” you say to a drone, “something small and maneuverable would be best.”


“What? You can just ask for a vehicle and get one, how much money do you have?” Aurora asks.


The wall splits as the portal is revealed out from behind the false wall in the outpost’s hanger.


Aurora stands staring as a simple small hover car exits the portal.


“Is that car floating?” She asks.


“Thank you that will work perfectly,” you tell the drone and get into the car.


“Wait is the car floating?” Aurora asks again.
