The rest of his sentence is almost drowned out by you racing to the kitchen and gathering up what you need. Let's see, eggs, milk, butter, flour, baking soda, salt, a little sugar... You can hear Launch chuckle softly as you start making yourself, and them and even Roshi, some pancakes. Once they're all set, the three of you sit down, Master Roshi heading back inside, apparently getting some actual morning exercise in instead of his programs. "Heh! Well you kids seem to be doing well for yourselves."

You nod in the direction of more for him as you pour on the maple syrup. Heh. "So, what exactly do you know?"

Launch gets serious for a moment. "There are disappearances in Yahhoy. The rumor has been there's a demon running around there, someone with a sword. We haven't found any bodies, but..." The blue-haired woman sinks back in her seat, staring down at the breakfast you made her.

"At the very least, we... hope it isn't Lucifer. Again." Acer adds. Gods, you hope so too. Next time you see him you're going to be tempted to try to throw him into the sun if he goes on another dumb rant.

"Chi-chi jumped at the chance, so she's going." your brother informs you, finishing up his meal. "Everyone else seems a bit busy."

You do the same and smile at them both. "Was gonna try to help Goku learn something today, though I can probably do that after. Lemme see if he can come with."

Your brother smirks a little. "Sure, sure..." You can tell what that smirk means even without reading his mind. You just give a little glare, then try to contact Kami. He informs you that Goku has some training set up for the morning, but he could head over once that is complete. Kami... seems worried about the goings-on there. He's kind of glad you and your friends are being so punctual.

Roshi tells you and your brother to be careful, and then asks if Launch wants a kiss, for luck. Blonde Launch gives a... response of a silent glare. Somehow that seemed more intimidating than usual. The three of you head to West City's Police Department first, for Launch to pick up her uniform. You spot Akai heading in, Launch commenting that she seems to have remembered to dress herself, for once. She then asks you and your brother to wait outside a bit. After a few minutes, she comes back out... though you're kind of surprised by what you see. "Are you both ready?"

That's... Blue Launch's voice, you recognize the done and manner of speaking, but she's... blonde?

The three of you head off, flying out to Yahhoy. Chi-chi seems to be on her way, but no sign of Goku. You all also notice what seems to be... Yamcha and Tien? They're at full strength, and seem to be sparring... no, a bit more intense than just sparring. Huh. Odd. When you reach the outskirts of Yahhoy, you and your brother do a little scan. Inhabitants seem to be normal, and Scouters aren't picking up anything unusual. Chi-chi arrive shortly after, and is... equally as perplexed by Launch's new look. You and Acer explain things for her.

Chi-chi laughs. "You've come a long way, Miss Launch." The woman smiles at her and nods.

As the four of you head down, you turn to your brother and friend. "Say, Chi-chi, brobro, you two been up to anything?"

They look at each other. Chi-chi's the first to respond. "Well, this, I guess. I've been trying to find out more about this. If it's anything like the one we've been hearing about before..."

Acer frowns. "It reeks of Towa."

"Yeah... right..." your brother comments, almost instinctively moving closer to Chi-chi.

You ignore it. "So, what all HAVE you heard?"

Chi-chi crosses your arms as the four of you walk towards the Police Station. "Tall, human-looking figure, but with pointed ears. Long, silver-ish hair, and a large blade. What has been told about his powers aren't really consistent, but... there's something about him that just sends chills down a person's spine. Paralyzing, almost..."

"Less than comforting..." you comment.

"And seems he despises people." Chi-chi adds. "Humans specifically."

"Antisocial, then." you mention. As Launch explains the situation to the police of the city, you're given a map of recent disappearances. You... start to find the behavior of the officers quite odd. They recognize you, but seem less... friendly than you're used to. Even to Launch, it seems like they're just going along with it because they have to. Even a casual mind scan shows things mostly normal... but off. You keep seeing, hearing the word "distrust."

Still... there are four locations that seem to be the most recent. The bank, the docks, the airport, and the nearby forest, in order.

Chi-chi and Acer move a little closer to her, eyes on the distrusting faces of everyone around you all. You're... starting to feel that the forest would be best, too. Less people... calmer. Less eyes looking down at you. With the four of you heading out, you approach the forested area. You notice the off Power Levels, higher than they should be. 10s... 15s... one as high as 120. The strange thing is that you can't seem to quite get normal readings on them all... it's almost like the forest itself is emitting some sort of Power Level. The air... starts to feel thick, as a fog starts to... almost creep up from the ground... the hell is this?

"Sis... Chi-chi... you're feeling this too, right?" Acer asks quietly.

You both nod, then Launch stops you... you and her both feel a flash of foresight. Acer does too, but reacts too slowly, using what time he has to try and protect Chi-chi. Some... figure... from the shadows lunges at you all. It's weak, but...it smacks right into Acer and Chi-chi. They kick it off, allowing you to grab it and throw it into one of the trees. It... fades into the ground and trees in the same kind of creepy fog.

"W-what the hell was that?!" Acer asks in a bit of a panic.

A chunk of the fog suddenly lifts, but only enough to clear a bit of the way ahead. Useful... then Chi-chi joins in. "Samma Vaca!" More of the fog lifts. You both motion Acer and Launch to move forward. You both can feel presences... forming... behind you.

You and Chi-chi try switch things up to the presence behind you both. The... figures, pitch black, murky, like shadows trying to pretend they're a humanoid creature, the fog almost... FEEDING into it... slowly moving towards you both. Oh hell no. The Samma Vaca from you and Chi-chi quenches the figure. You both dash forward, switching things up to provide each other cover, then effectively forming a barrier around the four of you, you and Chi-chi to each other's backs.

"Launch, no offense, but I think I hate this place." Acer comments to her. "Is this forest... protected, at all?"

"Brobro no."

"Brobro yes." Acer replies as he stretches an arm out, ready to snap his fingers.

"Acer, wait, we just need to get through this." she comments, walking forward. "Maple, Chi-chi, keep this up... I think I see something up ahead."

The both of you do so, flying up a little to keep the "barrier" strong, more of the shadowy figures forming out of the fog. As you all get to a clearing, where the fog is slightly lifted, you both stop. You and Launch throw out a couple powerful Geist Magnums, knocking several of the creatures back into the fog. Launch's... hits a tree, causing it to tumble down on her and nearly bonk her on the head, you kicking it out of the way. Acer opts for the more direct approach, slashing several shadowy figures away, as Chi-chi finishes the last of them with a final Geist Magnum.

The three of you are surprised to hear Blonde Launch's voice, her actual voice, for once. And... it's almost angry, but has an almost morbid tone to it. "Nothing good. Maple, Acer, where's that signal?"

You and your brother check again... but it's gone. It seemed to be below you all, but this... ugh... your head feels a little light... the hell is going on...?

You try to sense for demonic presences... agh... AGH... Right as you do, what feels like a blast of the smog rises up from the ground. You clench your head. It... it's EVERYWHERE...

Acer feels it too. And he takes it even worse than you are. He almost collapses to the ground, Chi-chi catching him. Launch stumbles for a moment. You help pick her up. "That... we can't stay for long..."

"Yeah... Something here is messing with us, we need to hurry, the gas masks can only buy us so much time." you comment with a shiver. Launch has trouble standing, so you help her along, flying with her. Chi-chi picks your brother up and carries him on her back, to his... well, it'd be embarrassment if you were in a different situation.

You reach the floor where the presence was. Several large machines seem to almost crowd around you. And in the center is some... jar, pouring a purple liquid into a vat below.

"You shouldn't be here." a deep, haunting voice tells you. You all try to turn around, only for it to throw you all aside with a concentrated but restrained gust of Ki. You and Chi-chi manage to stand, but Launch and Acer are down on the ground. Chi-chi, to her credit, is quick to react. She lunges at the figure, sending it back with a powerful right hook. However, it recovers very quickly.

"M-Maple, can't sense a soul..." Chi-chi comments, clenching her fists.

You try to get a read on your Scouter... this hooded figure's Power Level is...

You sit down, taking another minute to calm yourself. Gods... what a day. What even is the time right now? ...half past noon. Goku sits down next to you, your brother and Chi-chi doing the same. Launch looks at you all apologetically. "Damn it... I... didn't realize how... how danger-"

"Don't, Launch. You're fine." you tell her with a comforting smile. "At least now we have an idea on what we're up against." You then turn to Trip. "What... what was that?"

She presents you with an odd container. "Just like what we used to cure the vampirism in Lucifer's victims. This is... a diluted version of the Ultra Divine Water, one which keeps its healing properties, but does not overzealously heal and risk causing death."

"Wait, how did Kami get that?" Acer questions.

"Darkness has an agreement set up with Kami. Do you recall the symbol on the container? That was Kami's. They both maintain a liquid of such sacred purity in order to use it in case of... incidents like this." she replies solemnly, looking at the rubble and crater.
