Tiny creatures, you believe he called them "imps" bring out small trays of food for you to pick from, placing them on the table beside you before scurrying off into the darkness.

"The procedure should take roughly an hour," Koe tells you. "If you wish, you may go, and I will bring Kasai to you once it is complete. If not, then by all means, let us talk, my friend."

The surgery to do that would have been far more agonizing, and weakened her greatly. This surgery is a bit more simple, and only an option due to the nature of what she is. She will see once again, and her power will grow as a bonus."

Koe smiles. "Considering your current predicament, this may prove a blessing. Of course, I'm sure we'd all prefer she could see as she always has, but Belial has taken away that option for the time being."

"And who is performing this surgery?" you ask.

"One of my finest doctors," Koe assures you. "He is an expert, and will perform this surgery perfectly."

"Well, since I'm here, do you think I'd benefit by training in the woods with my Demon Cuffs?" you ask.

Koe thinks for a moment. "Well, you seem to have mastered basic movement while under the influence of the cuffs. At this point, training for combat while hindered by them could help you quite a bit. If you wish to wander the forest, then I will not stop you. I only ask you to beware the dangers out there."

With nothing else to say, you excuse yourself and depart from the throne room. Unlike previous visits, you feel as though you're being watched as you wander the castle. You ignore the feeling and exit, wandering into the dark forest surrounding it.

You see creatures scurry to avoid you as you move, and you activate your suit for safety, briefly illuminating the area and revealing weak demons that quickly run and hide. Brining a small bit of Spirit Energy to the surface, you light the way as you walk.

It's then that you notice two things. Your Spirit Energy looks purple, rather than blue. And, you can hear whispering in the distance.

You turn around, making your way away from the voice, which soon grows silent as you travel further and further away.

However, despite being silent, you still feel a presence watching you, seeming to be all around you. You're pretty sure you can see figures moving in the distance, just far enough away that you can't make any detail out about them. You do, however, think you can hear one of them making some kind of noise.

As you move, the creatures do not draw closer, but they see to swell in number. Where you once saw only one or two figures lurking in the distance, you now see almost a dozen.

You're able to see them more clearly, and they're quite disgusting to look at. Their bodies look like those of severely malnourished humans, their eyes are sunken and glowing, and their teeth look quite sharp. The only non-human looking thing about them is the fact that they have entirely too many limbs, and a single eye each.

"Dolor importabilia , et pertineant ad te et penuriam pati!" one shrieks before they all begin rushing towards you together.

You gather your Spirit Energy into your hands, also channeling the fire inside of you. You thrust your right hand towards the charging creatures, a purple blast of Spirit Energy with flames dancing inside of it exploding forward and throwing the creatures back.

One goes still, while the others pick themselves up and charge at you once again. Once more speaking in that stupid gibberish.

"Vos can numquam exituros. Denique omnes ab antique"

Another flame-infused Spirit Blast kills two more of the creatures, but the rest keep coming, not afraid of you or your power. So, one by one, you're forced to kill them all.

The creatures lie dead at your feet, already smelling terrible enough to nearly make you vomit. You back away from the creatures, taking a look around to se if you're being watched.

You are not. At least, not by anything that you can see.

Nearly an hour has passed, and you doubt you'll get much more from this little excursion out in the forest. Leaving the dead creatures, and whatever that voice is behind, you travel back to the castle.

You make your way through the halls, still feeling as though you're being watched. You return to Koe's throne room, where a tall creature wearing a skull mask is kneeled before the demon lord.

Koe looks up when you enter, and then looks down to the creature.

"You may depart for now," Koe tells him.

The creature rises, nodding. "As you wish, my lord."

Not looking at you, the creature departs, leaving you and Koe alone.

"How was your trip through the forest?" Koe asks pleasantly.

"Is there anything you can tell me about the creatures I encountered?" you ask, describing the group of creatures that attacked you.

"They are relics of a time best forgotten," Koe tells you softly. "They are best left alone, and, if at all possible, you should forget you ever saw them."

"How did the surgery with Kasai go?" you ask.

"I am told it went splendidly," Koe tells you with a grin. "She should be out any-ah, there's our lovely fire apparition now."

Kasai steps into the room, her skin looking a healthier shade of pink, her lips curled up in a smile, and her eyes dancing with larger, wilder flames than ever before.

"Kasai, how do you feel?" Koe asks politely.

"I feel...good," she answers, her body erupting into flames that illuminate the entire room with an intensity that makes you shield your eyes.

"Oh? And what is that?" Koe asks.

"It's purple, rather than blue," you tell him. "Is this an effect of the cuffs?"

He nods. "I did warn you of side effects. Your Spirit is currently being influenced by demonic energy. That's why emotional balance is key right now. Allow any emotion to take over too greatly, and the demon energy will grow more powerful, and that can lead to some results you may not like."

He offers nothing more than that.
